Arkale brightened up some, glad to hear at least Phoenix was on board. He was also glad to see that Phoenix wasn’t one to hold a grudge either. He then nodded and slowly laid down to continue his meal. “Good idea, Phoenix.” He said before quickly eating his remaining food.

Phoenix just nodded a little before resting his chin on his forelegs. “Itll be better than moping around in this cramped excuse of a cave.” He said softly, smiling a little at his own sarcasm.

Amatsu just stepped off of Arkale's back, trying to find the least dirtiest spot in the cave to neatly settle down. Ugh, she missed her bed. Yawning, the fox just settled on her paws, tails flicking as she asked "So, where are you two from? Surely not from this forest." They didn't look built or colored for the snow and plantlife.

Phoenix tensed just a little as she did, still finding it rude that she just waltz in here and expected to be treated with tons of respect. Though he supposed he had let in the other two dragons not too long agp. “A forest South of here.” Phoenix said, “my family died when I was young, and I never learned the name of the forest or it’s popular land marks.” He said with a shrug, “I would go back my the reason I was driven out was because a wild fire destroyed everything..”

Arkale looked up from his meal and he frowned. “I’m sorry you lost your home and family, Phoenix. That must be very tough.”

“It was.” Phoenix said softly, “especially when I lost me family. I was just barely out of the hatchling stage. I’m lucky I was already taught how to hunt and fight some before I was so abruptly on my own.” He then sighed, “but losing my home... I don’t know what to do now.”

Amatsu almost snorted before remembering not at dragons were immune to fire. Sighing, she said "Well... hopefully you find a new place. And maybe a new family." And for once she didn't sound done or annoyed. "I haven't been separated from my family for long, only a year, but I know any extended separation is hard."

Phoenix nodded a little, “I know what you’re thinking. I’m not immune to fire. I’m more of a chameleon than a dragon.” He joked. He then demonstrated by quickly shifting the color of his scales to match almost perfectly to his surroundings, “see?” He said. He then shifted back to saying, “and maybe you will find a new family as well if you don’t find your old one first right?”

Arkale blinked once, mid-chew, as Phoenix’s scale color shifted to make him nearly invisible then back to normal. “That’s a really cool ability you have, Phoenix.” He said, never meeting another dragon who could do that before now. He then quickly went back to his meal and finished up, wanting to get moving.

“Thank you.” Phoenix said, looking proud of himself, “it makes hunting a lot easier. Though other than that I am nothing special.” He said simply, “what about you two? Got any special abilities to share?” He asked curiously.

((Okay so let me get you caught up. So, basically at first everyone was on their own. They’re all out of place and in the snowy forest for their own separate reasons. Phoenix ran into Rook when he was wandering by the small cave Phoenix was staying in. Phoenix invited Rook to stay with him and travel to find a new, warmer climate. The next day they both went out hunting. At the same time Arkale was out hunting as well. The group ran into one another and Phoenix and Arkale had a brief stand off. It was eventually worked out though and Rook invited Arkale back to where he was now staying with Phoenix. Skip forward to when they’re eating their hunt back at the den when they spotted Amatsu, who is a vixen. However she is missing a tail and therefore rendered powerless. Now the group has agreed to travel to try finding the creature that took her tail to destroy it so she can get her powers back. They haven’t done so yet, they have just agreed that they’re going to do it. They’re still in Phoenix’s den. Make enough sense?

Arkale shook his head a little bi. "Nah, I'm just a regular dragon." he said with a chuckle. "Fire, scales, the usual." He replied with a happy shrug.

“Ah I see.” Phoenix said with a nod. He then shrugged, “that’s just as good. Honestly I wish I could breathe fire” he said, nudging the other dragon a little. He then moved out of the den as he said, “well, we probably should get going yes?”

Arkale nodded and grunted, getting up to his paws. "Yes, yes we should." he said, tail waving a bit. He then looked to Amatsu and tipped his head a bit. "Which way we headed?" He asked kindly.

Phoenix also looked back to Amatsu curiously, growing slightly impatient as he just wanted to get out of the cold already.

Amatsu made sure she was ready to go, shaking out her flattened fur and scratching behind her ear before climbing up onto Arkale's back. "South. Do you know the mountain range back there? I lost my tail in the pass."

Arkale grunted and nodded. “I know where you’re speaking of. Let’s get going. Can you hold on on my back Amatsu? I can carry you in my paws if that would work better.” He offered.

Phoenix didn’t wait for Arkale or Amatsu, instead just picking up Rook and taking off. He did wait once in the air through, looking down at them calmly.

Amatsu sniffed. She was not about to be man-handled by a dragon, nice one or not. Shaking her head, she said "As long as you don't do any fancy tricks, I'll be fine to hang on by myself."

Arkale nodded and spread his wings. “Understood.” He replied, pumping his wings and then lifting into the air. He got up to Phoenix’s height then turned to the direction Amatsu mentioned. “Alright let’s go!” He said as he started off.

Phoenix took one last glance down at his temporary home before following after them, flying a little ways behind Arkale to give him some room. The last thing he wanted was for Arkale to turn one way without him knowing to turn as well and go crashing into each other.

Amatsu looked around as they took off, enjoying the soft rush of wind on her fur. Her eight tails swished occasionally as they flew, whiskers twitching as she looked around. It had been quite some time since she had been up in the sky like this. She was quiet for the most part at first, just occasionally giving directions or making small comments when she saw different things below. She didn't want that awkward quiet to drag on was all.

Arkale chimed in where he could but for the most part he let Amatsu and the others talk. It was going to take a little while before they got there so he figured he wouldn't say much so he wouldn't accidentally offend anyone.

Phoenix actually spoke with Amatsu when things would be pointed out. Sure hpthey weren exactly the best of friends but small talk he could do. The rest of the time he seemed to be in his own little world as he gazed somewhere ahead of them on ground below.

Amatsu stayed relatively still in her spot on Arkale's back, only moving when a bird tried to get close. She simply smacked it aside with her tails, watching it fly away before looking ahead again. The fox just huffed as she checked her tails.

As they continued to fly, Arkale decided to get more information about what they were looking for. “So can you tell us more about what we’re going after?” He asked.
