(I'm very bored with nothing to do so let's rp! This is a jump in rp. You do t have to be a dragon you can anything really from humans to griffins anything really.) The bows of the ancient pine trees above bent with the weight of the falling snow. Each tree threatening to drop its load with every heavy breeze that brushed pass. But a small form that trailed below the looming trees didnt seem to be bothered. The form seemed to talk atop the already fallen snow, only leaving behind a whisper of his presence. The dragons name was Rook. A young dragon almost to young to be travelling alone. Rook paused suddenly his dull amber eyes scanning the snow drowned forest. Frozen mist billowed out from his nose and mouth as he stood there. He felt like he was being watched. Which he didnt like very much. Rook- A rather small and frail looking dragon with smooth whitish scales and a long brown horse like mane. His tail is twice the length of his body and can be used like a whip to keep others at a distance. Rook has no wings but he can climb trees pretty well if he has to get out of danger. Rook is jumpy and can lash out if stressed out but if one gets to know him he can be a great firend. (Art soon?)

Another form was residing near by in a rather small cave. It was another, larger dragon that was trying to escape the cold however he could, even if it meant cramming himself in this confined space. The dragon, named Phoenix, was about to doze off into a light sleep when he suddenly scented another dragon near by. He was immediately on alert as he gazed out into the snow, his pupils going into slits. He let out a soft grunt before deciding the best option was to get himself out of the small space and go see what was up. As the dragon uncurled himself and stepped out into the cold snow, his usual black and grey scales suddenly began to change to an array of whites, light blues, and grays to help him better blend in with the snow. His scales were very similar to that of a chameleon, which could rapidly change color by adjusting a layer of special cells nestled within their skin. Phoenix moves swiftly and quietly out into the snow, his wings tucked tightly against his sides.

Rooks gaze swept the snowy forest around him. It was dead silent, even the creaking and moaning from the ancient pine trees were muffled by the thick snow. Rook shivered. He needed to get out of this forest. Rook quickened his pace as he made his way through the silent forest. If he was being watched or followed he had to be alert and ready for a battle. Rook glanced over his shoulder.
(I'm sorry it's not much I'm at work! I'll get more out when I get home.)

Phoenix paused from a distance as he caught sight of the other dragon making its way through the snow. He waited to make sure he hadn’t been seen as well by the other dragon before deciding to follow at a distance. He moved swiftly yet carefully, debating whether or not he should just show face or not. He studied the other dragon carefully, taking his size and build into consideration. He was much bigger than the other dragon, so unless the dragon had some sort of special ability they wouldn’t be much of a threat. He finally made the decision to confront the other dragon, making sure he was hidden well with his camouflage and position first. “Who are you?” He asked in his deep, rumbling voice.
((That’s totally fine! I’ve got online school now so I’m right there with you. And honestly it’s fine I don’t expect a ton of lines or anything, just as long as I have something to go off of. Also, question, in this world I’m assuming that these dragons can speak. I’m just checking to see if that’s correct.

(Thank you! I hope your classes go well! Yes they can speak!)
Rook felt a shiver go down his spine as a deep voice spoke from behind him. He had been caught. The young dragon turned around quickly. He swallowed his fear as he saw the size of the dragon, even though he could barely make out his form from the surrounding snow he knew this dragon was much bigger than himself. He would most likely be squashed if they got into a fight. "Who are you." He retorted back.

((Thank you. They’re good so far. I hope work goes well for you. Stay healthy!
Phoenix narrowed his eyes, “I am Phoenix.” He said simply, not having any reason to hide that information. “Now you.” He said plainly, “who are you and where do you come from?” He asked in a more stern and demanding voice. He took a few paces forward, his eyes locked on the smaller dragon. In Phoenix’s opinion, this dragon looked like a hatchling who had just done something he wasn’t supposed to do, which was very suspicious.

(Thank you! You as well!)
Rook narrowed his eyes, this dragon wasnt messing around. He stood firm, not even flinching as Phoenix took a step forward. Show no fear he thought to himself. "I'm Rook A Too or just Rook for short." He stated quietly. "I come from the north, I'm just passing through." He added simply. Room kept his eyes on the larger dragon as he spoke. Maybe if did what the dragon asked he would let him free. "

Phoenix sensed the other's dragon's timidness. He let out a small breath, relaxing his posture some to give the other subtle hints that he wasnt in danger with him as of right now, but he didnt relax to the point where he wouldnt be able to leap into action. "You seem on edge." Phoenix pointed out, "Why?" He asked, narrowing his eyes a little.

Rook watched Phoenix carefully. Rook didn't seem to relax, his posture was still stiff and his muscles rippled under his pale scales as he took a small step back. "Wouldn't you be on edge if a dragon nearly twice your size was standing in front of you." Rook stated a bit loudly. But it could also be the fact that the young dragon was alone, starving and cold. All of those could make even the strongest dragons on edge.

Phoenix sighed softly, thinking something over before speaking again. “Come with me.” He said simply before beginning to turn. “You’re lucky I’m feeling generous. I just came back from a hunt. You should be hungry yes?” He glanced towards Rook.

Rook stood still his eyes following Phoenix. A meal sounded fantastic, his stomach growled at the thought of finally being full after days of just mice and song birds. But would he risk his life to fill his stomach? Rook took a deep breath and weighed his options carefully. After a long second Rook sighed softly and began to follow Phoenix at a distance. "Thank you." He said softly.

“No problem.” Phoenix said, keeping his gaze forward. “I over hunted today thinking I was going to stick around a while longer, but the cave I was living in is beginning to get a little too cramped for me.” He told him. “I rather fill another dragon’s belly than let all that meat go to waste. Wouldn’t you agree?” He asked, picking up his pace a little as the wind seemed to get colder.

Rooks followed Phoenix but at a distance, he was still a bit wary of this dragon and if he decided to attack he could get away a bit easier. Rook glanced over his shoulder to the looming pine trees that flank both of them, the sounds of song birds had come back, that was a relief. His attention snapped back to Phoenix as he began to speak. "Defiantly." He said softly. "I have seen many dragons waste food just so others couldn't have it." He added softly.

Phoenix nodded, “trust me, I know. And I think that is a very selfish thing to do. If you don’t need it why hog it?” He said simply. Though, of course he wouldn’t just give away his food to anyone, but for some reason he made an exception today. It wasn’t long before the two reached the tiny cave. Phoenix went to the back of the cave before dragging a full grown buck closer to the entrance.

Rook's mind started wonder as they approached the cave. His mind cleared as the smell of deer wafted towards his muzzle. Rook's stomach groaned loudly as he watched Phoenix pull the buck from the cave. He stood there for a long second. "I-i'll just take a leg." He said softly. He could most likely eat the whole thing but he didn't want to seem greedy.

Phoenix knew that wouldn’t be enough to fully sustain him. He sighed saying, “alright, but how about this. I know you’re hungry, so why don’t you take the leg, then I’ll eat my fill, and then whatever is left is all yours.” He offered. He already ate earlier in the day as well so he wouldn’t be as hungry as he usual was, so obviously he wouldn’t eat much. He honestly didn’t know why he was so willing to help Rook, but it wasn’t like it was a bad thing so why would he want to stop? Phoenix moves over the buck to lay on his side towards the back of the cave, having to curl himself up some to fit. “So, tell me Rook. Why have you come all this way from the North?” He asked calmly, his powerful voice having a slight echo off the tiny cave’s walls.

Rook nodded softly as Phoenix purposed his offer. He could barley keep his mind straight, all he wanted to do was devour the buck and leave nothing behind but bones. Rook shook his head and collected his thoughts as he padded over to the buck. He flopped down near Phoenix and began to nibble at the deer's leg. Rook thought about Phoenix's question. He saw no reason to lie anymore. "Im looking for my family." He said softly. "Or what is left of them." He whispered softly. Rook glanced up to Phoenix. "Why are you here?" He changed the subject, "Most dragons try to stay where its warm."

Phoenix gently rested his head and his forelegs as he looked to Rook curiously. He let out a small grunt of amusement as the other dragon ate. It was very apparent he was holding himself back. When he was asked why he was here he sighed, “I’m a loner. I never have traveled with a group. I lost my family when I was still pretty young. I had been taught the necessities though like how to hunt, fly, and defend myself. I just stayed in the area I was raised from then on because it had everything I need.” He then huffed, “until a few days ago when a bad thunder storm hit. Lightning must’ve struck a tree or something because a huge forest fire started, forcing me out of my territory. I just flew until I couldn’t anymore. Next thing I found myself here.” He grumbled softly in embarrassment, “I’m not the best at direction. I mainly rely on my instincts, but it seems they have led me astray lately..”

(Work has been so tiring lately.)
Rook lisened quietly as he ate. His ears flicked forward as he lisened. It seem her and his new firend had a lot in common. "I'm sorry." He said softly. "Maybe soon you can find a territory much better than your old one." He added with a small smile. Rook looked out into the pine forest, it had began to snow again. "Some place much warmer than this."

“Maybe.” Phoenix said with a small shrug. “It depends on how much the fire destroyed. It wasn’t a little one.” He said tiredly. He grumbled at the mention of the cold, “it’s miserable here.” He said bluntly. After a few long moments of silence Phoenix turned onto his side, “we should travel together. We be useful to one another.” He offered.
((That stinks. Online school isn’t so bad as of right now. What do you do for work?

(I work in a deli, I make sandwiches, slice meat and sometimes help the kitchen with other stuff. It's alright but since the virus it's been pretty dead. What do you do for school?)
Rooks ears flicked forward at the mention of traveling together. He thought for a long second. He had spent most of his life alone and traveling to find his family. A family that most likely had already parished in the flood that swept him away when he was just a meer hatchling. Rook shook his head. "Yeah! It beats being alone." Rook shivered softly.

((Well I’m a freshman in college so I’m currently still sorts figuring that out. I’m majoring in nursing and minoring in business. I’m really just testing out the waters as of right now since I’m interested in both. Are you still in school or no?
Phoenix let out quiet rumble as he agreed. “Then it’s settled he said. At this point he leaned in some to eat his own fill of the deer. He was still conscious not to eat much though. After a few moments he pulled away and stood. He carefully moved around towards the outside of the tiny cave before gently herding Rook deeper into the cave, nudging the deer in further as well. He circled once before laying down around him, though he still wasn’t too close. He was simply blocking the entrance to make Rook stay warm over night.

(those are both cool subjects! My gram is a nurse! I graduated from high school but that's all at the moment. I went through some tough times and college is just on the back burner for me at the moment. But i really wanted to go to college to be a art teacher!)
Rook nodded sharply, he was glad to have a comrade after years of being alone. Rook finished off what was left of the deer and tucked them aside. He yawned, he suddenly felt exhausted. Like a blanket it washed over him and he could barley keep his paws under his body. Rook yawned once again and stumbled over to a comfortable looking bit of floor and curled up. His long tail wrapping around him like a cat. Just before he slipped off to sleep he mumbled a quiet thank you.
(Do you have a description of Phoenix? i really want to draw these two since im home from work early.)

((Well don’t give up! You don’t have to go to college right away there are alternatives! You could still totally be an art teacher! You can’t give up. I will not let you give up on your dreams no ma’am!
And sure. Though it is complicated since he tends to shift his color to match his surroundings better. Sorry if this isn’t very good I’m kind of making it up on the fly, but here’s his base form
Phoenix: A large dragon who is the perfect mix of lean and muscle. He has dark grey and black scales covering his body, though they can change to better blend in with his environment. Phoenix has a shorter snout and a fierce looking face complete with a pair of bright amber eyes. He has short horns on the back of his head that go straight back. He has large, powerful wings and a long tail with dorsal fins. He also has tiny dorsal plates (or smooth spikes coming out of his spinal cord) going from the top of his head to the very tip of his tail. Phoenix is a little rough around the edges and can be a little moody, but he has a very kind heart and loving soul. If he builds trust or becomes fond of another dragon he becomes very protective over them, almost as if he were being territorial in a way.

Phoenix sighed softly, trying to ignore the col that was pricing his back. He simply wrapped his tail around him to cover his face. It took a while, but he eventually drifted off into sleep.
Timeskip
Phoenix was up and early. He yawned before untangling himself to step out into the snow. Once he was a few paces away from the cave he stretched before shaking himself, flapping his wings a few times to bring warmth back into his body. He then snorted, before turning to scan the land around him.

He grumbled softly before looking up at the sky. He felt like he had slept for decades. Rook yawned and sat down. He had never been a morning dragon.

Phoenix looked to Rook, deciding to make an attempt at joking around. “Well, it’s been seventy years since you last woke up.” He said, making his voice raspy and shaky, “you thought you were dead.” He said. He then laughed a little and said, “I’m just kidding. It’s just the next day.
