Ma'ait looked around warily, wanting to go over, but she knew if they tried anything there would be chaos. However, Mysha watched as Xandrite began to stir.
~~~~~
Laugai laughed at the interaction. "Seems you got it right. It's alright though. We can wait a bit longer until we're all good to go." He looked toward the dragons to see what they'd want.
Shard growled lowly, a dark charge building in his mouth. He was in the most conflicting point of his life. His dark flames would end this whole situation forever, but how could he harm his own child, but was she even his child anymore? Many, many thoughts began running through his head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sizarla shrugged a little bit and she nosed Raiden's cheek softly. "What should we do, Raiden? Are you ready to leave?" She asked.

Xandrite eventually stirred, bright eyes blinking tiredly before she noticed who was there. She raised a brow before simply staring. She wasn't particularly happy to see any of them, couldn't care less actually.
~~~~
Raiden shook his head. "No, I'm ready to go. I'm not exactly itching to stay here or anything. I'm sure there's more to see."
((Hey no worries I understand! life has been hectic for me too )) "Xandrite..." Shard said gently, the flame in his throat vanishing. "Why are you doing this? Your mother and I, and your brothers and sister all miss you..." he said gently. ~~~~~~~~~ Sizarla nodded and then got up to her paws, slithered up onto the bench where Alekar and Laugai were and she carefully sat up on her hind paws to get closer to their ears. "Raiden and I are ready to go when you two are." She said softly in dragon speak, making sure no one else could hear her. Alekar nodded happily and slowly maneuvered to the open side of the bench and stood up, watching as Sizarla shrunk a bit more and then slithered up his arm and carefully settled herself on his shoulders. "Then let's get going. We've got a lot more to see!" He said.
Xandrite snorted. "I'm not doing anything. Just learning my new powers that you tried to keep me from." Now she was great, and she'd show them! She sat up, Mysha watching warily as she yawned, the human debating if it had been the best idea for just the four of them to come honestly.
Laugai smiled brightly at this, stretching before getting up and out of his seat on the bench. "Yes, this town is quite busy. Raiden and I never really got to look around last time we were here, so let's make sure we do this time!"
Shard frowned a bit, knowing this couldn’t end well. “Xandrite, do you know what those powers of yours do? They kill creatures, humans, anything it touches. Then... they become zombies, destroying anything they can and spreading that power. Eventually they’ll become too much and they’ll surely turn on you...” He said worriedly. “Have you seen what those powers have done to the kingdom?”
Sizarla nodded happily and chirped in agreement to Laugai, watching as Alekar paid the tab for their items and they left the building. Once outside, she again fluttered off of Alekar’s shoulders and perched upon Raiden’s back, cooing softly to him.
Alekar watched as Sizarla once again went back to Raiden and he sighed amusedly. “Every time she does that it feels like I’m getting dumped.” He said jokingly.
Xandrite shrugged. "A kingdom who worships dogs more than they do real creatures of superior being. It can burn for all I care. You, mom and the others should join me. We don't have to watch that silly kingdom anymore!" Mysha seemed to tell things weren't going quite well, seeing the corpses stir slightly.
~~~~~
Laugai laughed at this. "Ah, I'm sure you've got a special place in her heart, huh? Unless she really is dumping you!"

Shard sighed softly, shaking his head. “That’s because they saved these people a long time ago, Xandrite! Their people wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the first Dog that was created and came to life, protecting everyone in the villages. If it wasn’t for that, you probably wouldn’t be here. None of us would likely be here.” He said.
“Oh shut up Laugai.” He said playfully, not meaning anything by it. He was happy Sizarla had found a nice dragon to spend time with. Back home she’d rarely go out except when Alekar himself did.

Xandrite just shrugged, and the corpses around her started fidgeting restlessly. "Then they're just weak, needing other creatures to protect them. Now, go away. I have better things to do than talk with you right now."
Laugai just laughed at this before looking over at the dragons. "See, he's jealous!" He looked proud of his little conclusion, and Raiden just snorted in response to his friend.

Shard growled softly, clearly getting miffed at his daughter’s attitude. “Xandrite you’re going to regret this one day. Your mother and I just want to try and give you a good life.” He said, tail lashing as he prepared to leave.
Sizarla rolled his eyes playfully and she just lounged on Raiden’s back. She cooed happily as she relaxed and lightly nosed Raiden’s neck.

Xandrite shook her head. "I will not. All I have to do is wait you wait. You'll die eventually, and I won't have any other ties. I can't do it myself though... I can't. So, I will wait."
Raiden purred gently, already feeling so attached to Sizarla. He then spoke to her in their language as he said "How did I get so lucky meeting a pretty dragoness like you, huh?"

Shard snarled a little, black flames building in his mouth again. "Xandrite.... how could you have fallen so quickly. Have you forgotten your siblings? How they looked up to you? They're distraught over you leaving..." He said.
Sizarla let out a soft purr as Raiden called her pretty and her scales appeared to shimmer a bit, as if she was blushing like a human would. "The question should be how I got so lucky to meet such a handsome male like you." She replied lightheartedly, leaning forward and rubbing her nose against his snout.

Xandrite shrugged. "They'll look up to you solely now. As it should be. If these humans don't turn on them first." She growled the last bit to them, and Mysha raised a brow before telling Drake quietly "I don't think we're in a good spot with her right now..."
Raiden smiled in amusement, and Laugai said "I didn't think an old fart like you would find a female, huh?" Raiden just snorted, saying "You always seem to magically forget I had an egg, for the sake of your jokes."

Drake nodded slowly, gently rubbing Shard’s side for a moment. “I think we may need to make a retreat.”
Shard growled lowly. “Xandrite...” He said softly, turning his head away from her. This was awful. How could his own daughter despise them and the humans so much?
Sizarla looked to Laugai and rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out for a moment. She then just laid back down on Raiden’s back and delicately nuzzled his neck. She quietly trilled to him, trying to make Raiden happy. “He likes making jokes about you, huh?” She said to him in dragon-speak.

Mysha nodded a little, quietly telling Ma'ait that it was time to go. The dragoness growled a little, not wanting to. They looked as the creatures around them stirred some more, and Xandrite said "I'm sure we'll meet again, and maybe by then you will have come to your senses. Now, get out."
Raiden rumbled softly at this. "Yes, but it is all in jest. He can be quite funny most of the time. Does your friend make jokes often with you as well?"

Shard sighed and growled softly. He then turned tail and walked towards the exit, paws lighting on fire and burning away any of the creatures he walked through.
Sizarla nodded slowly. “He jokes with me, yes. Just never making jokes about me.” She replied with a light shrug. She purred lightly and slithered her tail around his side, liking being so close to her friend. “Thanks for carrying me Raiden.” She purred lightly to him. She was quickly growing to like Raiden, and wanted to be with him. “Say, Raiden... do you think maybe tonight we could go for a flight together or something? Spend some time together away from the humans?” She suggested, lightly licking his head and muzzle with her thin, slender tongue.

Xandrite didn't even turn to watch them go, but the nearby creatures did. Mysha looked down, saying "I can tell that didn't go well... I just hope the kingdom doesn't suffer anymore..." They just barely got through that demon!
Raiden raised a brow. "Oh? I wouldn't mind that at all. We can go whenever you like." He purred gently, mainly focused on Sizarla as they toured the busy city.

Shard just gave a low, angry grumble in response to his mste’s Rider’s comment. He just continued walking, crushing a few more of the beasts as they exited the cave.
Drake nodded in agreement, gently rubbing his dragon’s neck to reassure him. “This is going to be a dark time, for sure...” Drake said.
Sizarla grinned and wrapped his paws around Raiden’s neck as much as she could in a form of a hug and she trilled loudly with happiness. “Yay! Thanks Raiden!” She said to him in dragon-speak. She delicately licked his muzzle a few more times before settling back down again. “Let’s wait for now, until we know what the plan is.”
Hearing Sizarla’s sounds Alekar looked down at the two dragons and he smirked a bit, seeing Sizarla all happy and clinging to Raiden. He looked back up to the City and sighed happily. “This is a nice place, I must say.” He commented.

Mysha nodded. "Indeed, but all we can do is prepare and hope that we are either left alone or able to defend ourselves again. I trust in our people though, and the Dogs. And the relationship we have with dragons is strong."
~~~~
Laugai nodded in agreement. "It is. You'll see many great places on our travels, many magnificent territories. It never gets old. We still need to be careful of course, just in case things have changed. Avoiding places that don't favor dragons is also a mental note. You'd think more of the world would be accepting by now, but no."
Drake nodded and looked back as Shard and Ma’ait left the cave behind. “Alright, let’s go home.” He said, to which Shard growled in agreement, spread his wings, and took off up into the air.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alekar nodded slowly. “Yes, we’ve seen a couple of those places before while traveling with my family. Thankfully, Sizarla can easily hide on me while in her small form. Right girl?” He asked, looking to his dragon who was still practically swooning over Raiden.
Sizarla looked up at Alerkar and let out a happy chirp and nodded her head a couple times, then went back to lightly nuzzling Raiden’s neck and just enjoying being so close to the male dragon.

Mysha was visibly frustrated as they left. When they got back, she had Ma'ait land and gave her dragon friend an apologetic look. She them looked over as their dragons' kids scurried over, perhaps looking to see if their sibling had returned.
~~~~
Laugai nodded. "Raiden and I were always, uhm, keen to just avoid settlements at first. All we needed was each other and our smarts to get by, so that's what we did until I was older. When I was older was when we really started going into places."
Shard landed beside his mate and watched as Drake got off his back. He looked to Ma’ait and gently licked her snout, trying to comfort her some.
Seeing their parents landing in the clearing, Pyre and Scaws immediately scurried over to them. Pyre immediately scrambled onto his father’s back while Scaws sniffed around his mother’s side, the two of them apparently looking for their big sister. Upon finding no sign of her, Pyre scrambled off his father and raced around to be in front of his parents. “Where’s Xandy?” He asked in confusion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alekar nodded a bit in understanding. “I can see why. It would certainly be a surprise to people to see a little kid walking around with a dragon bigger than him.” He said with a chuckle. “But it all worked out, eh? I mean, you’re still here today!”

Magna listened hopefully, but frowned as Ma'ait said "Xandrite... will not be coming back. At least for a while. She's alive, but when we found her, she didn't want to come back home..."
~~~~~
Laugai grinned. "Indeed. Raiden has kept me safe from big animals to bandits. I owe him a lot." He smiled at his companion, who smiled in turn. They were very close, obviously, and would do anything for each other!
Scaws, upon hearing the news, started to sniffle a little bit. He missed his big sister. “Doesn’t she love us any more?” He said, cuddling into his mother for comfort.
Pyre huffed softly and just trotted over to his brother and laid beside him, seemingly losing his normal excitement and happiness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alekar nodded slowly. “Be glad you two have such a good friendship and camaraderie. Not many people can say that in this day and age.” He said.
Sizarla huffed and sat up on Raiden’s back. “Alekar we’ve been through a lot together too!” She chirped.

Ma'ait gently nuzzled Scaws. "I'm sure she does. She's just... confused right now." Or at least she hoped so. "She just... needs some time away is all. And then she will come back because she misses you all."
~~~~~~~
Laugai smiled at Sizarla. "I can tell you two have been through much, like she said. The bond is an indication. A strong one like yours isn't produced by just being near and barely knowing each other."
Scaws just continued to sniffle for a few more moments as his mother nuzzled him and he slowly fell asleep, snuggling into his mother just like when he was a young whelp.
Pyre watched as Scaws fell asleep and he sighed softly, also feeling much the same way as his brother. He moved over to his dad and curled up beside him while Shard began licking his scales to calm him down.
~~~~~~
Sizarla nodded in agreement and chirped happily. “See? He gets it.” She said happily. She watched as Alekar walked a bit closer to her and she happily leaned up and rubbed her against against his gently hand.
Alekar laughed happily and nodded a couple times while rubbing Sizarla’s head. “Yes yes we have been through a lot together. Sizarla’s been there for me in some of my toughest times. She’s my closest friend.”

Ma'ait cooed gently to Scaws as he drifted off into sleep, feeling even more sad to see her kids so sad. "We'll get her back," she decided quietly. "We're not going to give up so easily."
~~~~~~
Laugai smiled at the two of them. "Same for Raiden and I. It seems that dragons are sometimes better companions. I've had plenty of people flake and leave when things got difficult."
|
|
Shard leaned his big head over and gently licked Ma’ait’s face a few times. “Right.” He said in agreement. “No matter what she is still our daughter. And we won’t give up on her.” He murmured gently.
Pyre was now asleep as well, soon beginning to snore softly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alekar nodded. “Exactly. People can be fickle and flakey. But from what I’ve experienced dragons are nearly always loyal and dependable.” He said, giving a warm smile to Sizarla who just coped happily and her slender tail waved a little bit.

Ma'ait cooed softly at the attention. "I know she misses her family. She wouldn't just stop caring about us or her siblings... or at least I hope so." Xandrite just needed to be reminded that her family would always be there for her.
~~~~~~
Raiden purred at these words. Dragons, or most of them, were surely loyal creatures. Some of the most loyal around. "Dragons take bonds very seriously. Blood only means so much. Sometimes those who aren't our own are more family than our own kin..."
