Ahh I just binged 7 pages of this and I love it so much! Swiftleap is such an identifiable protagonist and the drawings are amazing, so expressive and cute Also... Colour me suspicious about whatever motives Leopardheart has bringing Swift to a deserted place in the middle of the night. Looking forward to when you're ready to update  |

The water... maybe it's just the lack of light but the water looks strange. It's an impossible pitch black, you can't see anything beneath the surface. You're afraid to touch it.
"It's hard to explain," Leopardheart begins, sitting by your side. "I found this place when I was very young. Something about this place isn't right. You can tell, can't you?"
You could tell from a mile away this place wasn't right.
"There's something in these waters. Not a beast or anything... just something."
And... how did this make her stronger?

More swimming? No no no, besides that, you don't trust this river at all!
"You trust me, don't you? You have to, otherwise you're an idiot for coming this far at all."
You think to yourself that it's been one leap of faith after the other with this she-cat. She's right, though. You trust her. If she wanted to kill you, she probably would have just done so when you first stepped into the water. This would be a pretty convoluted plot to kill an insignificant Thunderclan warrior like you!
"Just to show you it's safe... I'll go first."

Leopardheart wades into the dark waters and it's as though her entire body disappears beneath the surface. Regardless, she keeps going.
You nervously ask her how far she's planning to go in. She doesn't answer.
Soon, her head disappears beneath the water.

You wait for her to resurface. You wait and wait and wait.
She doesn't come up.
She should be right there in front of you, but somehow you feel totally alone. None of this makes sense. A Riverclan cat, drowning? It's unheard of. She wouldn't just drown herself right in front of you, would she? No, that makes no sense. Why bring you out here!?
What if... she's crazy?

phew. that took a while.
thank you everyone for the warm welcome back!! i appreciate everyone still following along with this, even into the new year! and thank you sapphire for your kind words :') words like those help keep me going!
this was supposed to update MUCH sooner than this but a funny thing happened. see, before my holiday break, the desktop i use to draw was working fine. it's a little old and a little slow but otherwise gets the job done without much problem.
imagine my surprise when i come back and it starts blue screening every five minutes and repeatedly punching my crotch when i try everything i possibly can to fix it! wow!
but its FINE. :'| i have my laptop to work on and i transitioned all my drawing stuff to my laptop. updates might look a bit wonky as i adjust to a new work space but it shouldnt be a big issue.

Leopardheart knows what she’s doing for herself. Do not swim in that “water,”
(I knew this she-cat was evil! Traded something to gain powers or strength or made some pact. Why else would it be swimming in murky substance.)

I second Katana on choices! This is too risky! You were just told it was weird water with something in it. There's a difference between being a coward and being logically wary. No going into that water.
But I see no reason why you couldn't ... stay on the bank and watch. Just to see if anything weird happens. But take steps not to slip in.

You've had no indication that she wants to hurt you, in fact she's one of the only people who seem to think you're interesting. You should at least try to have some confidence/bravery even if you don't make it very far into the water.

I'd be very curious as to what Leopardheart is up to and WHY she appears to like you. Be cautious, but wait it out. If she does not reappear soon, maybe find some courage and wade in as far as you dare to check if she is indeed there. Her intentions are mysterious, but not yet sinister.

By the way guys, there has been no enter command for the last two posts so y'all are basically yelling into a void. x'D This is an interactive story but there is still a plot that Spec has clearly set up. We can't choose every single thing that happens!
I really, really like where this is going, Spec. I knew this story was going to be deeper than we thought (no pun intended) but this is taking the story to a new level and I am SUPER curious as to what is going to happen!!

:') sorry that this story is frustrating sometimes. i'm still trying to figure out the balance between letting readers decide where to guide the story and when to just railroad the story. i definitely promise that readers have great influence on where the story goes and there will be impactful decisions to be made soon and in the future!
thank you everyone for your support! it's been a bit of a struggle to draw or do anything productive as of late, real life is hectic and draining, but id like to make sure i update this as frequently as possible.

(Also, I hope life calms down for you soon, Spec. <3 And no worries about the reader-control thing from me. It isn't a problem. Sometimes I miss when it says to enter a command or not and in any case I tend to scream and shout - in good reader fun - when I get excited about a character. This tends to include a lot of Noooooooooo! and You idiot, _c_a_t_n_a_m_e_h_e_r_e.)
