quick update: so, you remember when I said i had a special thing in store? i had wanted to get it done sooner so that i could quickly start working on updates. real life stuff happened and things got delayed. i'd put off working on anything other than the Special thing but i had a realization recently:
starting on the second week of december, i won't be able to update at all. this is due to the holiday season and the fact that i'll be away from the computer i use to draw.
so. uh. what i'm saying here is that the special thing is getting put on the back burner in favor of getting updates out as soon as possible. i do NOT want to have the story stand still at where its at rn for such a long time so starting tomorrow i'm going to be getting updates out as quickly as i possibly can.
i don't know if the special thing is going to ever... make its debut? in a way im grateful for this since it has been giving me a lot of trouble and stress trying to make it look how i want it to. still, i'm sad since it was something i was excited for but in the end, it ultimately became a waste of time :') oh well. live and learn.
updates resume soon before i have to take a hiatus!!!

The next night is a moonless night. You wonder if Leopardheart intended for that or if it was mere coincidence that she chose this night to meet you.

You spent a while trying to make up this great plan to escape completely unnoticed. You even scouted the boundaries of the camp to find a secret exit or something. (There aren't any.)
As it turns out, nobody seems to care. Whether that comes with the freedom of being a warrior or it's just you in particular nobody pays attention to is undetermined.
Anyway, there's no curfew for warriors and if you tell the night guard that you're going out for a walk, they let you go without any questioning. It seems they're more meant to keep strange cats out rather than keep clan cats in.
It's a little disappointing somehow. Whatever. If nobody cares what you're doing, it just makes it all the easier for you to fly under the radar.

I feel like Swiftleap should ask about their destination. After all, if you're going on an adventure in the middle of the (moonless) night, you should ask where you're headed, right?

You're having a hard enough time kicking your feet, you don't know if you can keep track of whether you're in the middle.

You stick close to her. Well, as close as you can. The river pushes against your weak body. The water soaks your pelt and makes you feel heavier than ever.
Leopardheart is checking on you constantly, sometimes lagging behind to jerk your scruff up if you sink too deeply into the water.
Your surroundings become unfamiliar the further up you swim. Eventually, you realize you've gone past Thunderclan territory. You must be between the Riverclan and Shadowclan border by now.
Then, you go even further than that.

The river widens out, creating shallow depths that you and Leopardheart can walk along.
You don't know where you're going or why. You only know that Leopardheart intends to make you stronger.
Something about this area feels... wrong. Are you beyond the territories now? Does Starclan watch you, even from here?

Wow, I am super curious about where this is going to lead. O.O'
It's interesting to note, as the panels go on here, Swift's ears and posture keep dropping and curling inwards. The unease is super tangible. I hope Leopard has good intentions. She doesn't seem THAT suspicious to me yet.

And those night skies are STUNNING. Really and truly amazing. Also, that paw when Swift gets into the water has me wishing very hard that I knew how to draw paws better.

Happy new year everybody! hope your holidays were great!
this comic has been put on hold for a hot minute but im happy to announce it'll be starting up again very soon! i'm finally reunited with my desktop and my drawing tablet! i'll need a bit of time to re-learn how to draw cats since i literally haven't drawn anything at all since early december. whoops. in other news! » ѕнαdσω ⚔️ and i have started collaborating on a short story! im doing all the illustrations and shadow will be writing all that good good story. you can see previews of it here!
ever since i was just a wee babe on ye olde original wc forums, i've been a fan of shadow's work! i can't tell you how cool it is to be working on this project! i hope you guys will enjoy the finished product when it comes out!
