broken mintedstar/fur🦇Lyle's expression illuminated with hope. It was almost that look of obtaining the greatest gift in all of existence, or perhaps the prize of sanctification. "Dead sister, I cannot thank you enough!" He spoke without thought. His words were escaping faster then he could process. "I know I should have not stepped beyond my boundaries, but I could not sit still with questions lingering in the air. I understand that htis is all new, and so sudden, but I feel like I might have had a batter chance to see the questions for myself." His voice softened, followed by a brief pause. "I did not expect to encounter a monster down in those caves, nor the injury I would suffice to." He commented with recollections. "The people who came to my rescue came as a misunderstanding, as I had taken Sir. Levinwind's belongings to get past the gate." He admitted, feeling the guilt sting deep within. "But should I get information that can be shared, I will forward it to you. With that you are free to choose what you wish with that knowledge." He addressed her earlier concern. "I am positive that with the individuals I am gathering, results will come to fruition." Trying to smile, yet unable to he nodded slowly. "I will do my best to keep those involved out of harms way." He assured now, "For their safety is of upmost importance." 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 & Mint Coire lightly laughed, "Please, do not worry about apologizng." He assured Lupin. "I too often zone out, it can be when I find myself doing a familiar task or when time decides to intentionally slow down. At times I zone out on my way home, which I shouldn't, yet I still do." He shrugged, walking over towards the counter at a rather slow pace. He was weary to keep his actions in plain view; last thing he'd want was a spear to the face.

Auransky broken Lin's eyes scrunched up with an expression that was almost pain. Must he call her 'dear'? It wasn't actually something that should have grated at her, but she would have liked a bit less ... endearment to weaken her resolve. She wasn't even sure, but that could have been his intention. She looked at her brother's face, but then discarded that idea. He was too open to try an manipulate her. "I see your motives," she said with a bit of a sigh, admitting that she could put herself in Lyle's shoes. "I don't blame you for wanting to investigate things yourself." She heard him out the rest of the way, trying to keep her expression as closed as possible. Every now and again, feelings cracked through, because this was her brother and it was so much harder to hide things from him. Guilt flickered there, in her eyes for a second, then worry, then cold, calculating attention, and it mostly stayed like that. "Fine," she said. And only then did she look back at Patrick. "I hope you can trust your new friends with your life. I really do."

broken mintedstar/fur🦇Lyle silently blinked, his sister wasn't moving-okay she was, but it was as if she stiffened to something. Was it something I said? He tilted his head slightly in thought. His excitement got the better of him, the relief to know that his sister would try to respect his wishes. Perhaps not the best morale, but what other choices do I have? I wish not to see people dead.He flinched hearing Lyn speak, he had obviously zoned out. He dipped his head lightly, "Thank you, I will assure that things not get out of hand." He now straightened himself out, She's not happy about this.. He slightly looked away now. "Well I am glad to an extent that this has been worked out." He smiled slightly now, "Very glad that no one is currently hurt at this moment, or being held against their will.." He smiled a bit wider now at the thought. ((Cue: Arai back at the house with Lupin and Coire xD))

Sorry for the prolonged absence. I know I already mention it, but it's been a busy week.) Also sorry about the rusty reply XD)
Arai nodded, agreeing. He could tell that the others were being careful around him, as they should, he was a knight after all. Speaking of his job, he was wondering where exactly the Princess was. He hoped they would not be gone for much longer. The angel was starting to feel as if this was a bad idea, or more of one. Sitting for a long time was easy, but when he had a job he was supposed to be doing it made it ten times harder at least.

(sorry i;m back now, but this will probably be terribly short. sorry) mintedstar/fur🦇 Auranskypatrick was remaining silent during the whole situation, not wanting to accidentally say something that he didn't need to. again. He looked from Lyle to Lin, keeping a straight face. "Thank you," he muttered quietly, specifically about Lin not going to tell anyone. -- mintedstar/fur🦇Russell blinked a few times, but didn't laugh. He knew that there were other supernatural here. "A vampire, hm? well if he's a vampire, that might make this easier, since they have weaknesses,"' he only shrugged in response before following after her. "Now, is there any more information that you were keeping from me? Because this is important, even if it sounds foolish."

broken Auransky"What now," asked Lin with a sigh. She was loathed to ask for something she didn't want the answer to, but she could not see a way forward with this without advise. Was she just supposed to continue onward like she had never met Patrick, Lupin, and Coire. Speaking of them all, was Gwen still in the stables? She found that hard to believe, but what could she do about it? Instead she kept her head down, just a little, and thought over everything. The only way forward seemed to be pretending that nothing had ever happened with her little trip to the blacksmith's, but she would first hear what Lyle thought of the whole matter. -- (If I can reply to it, I'm good with it.) brokenOh there was that brief smile. "Oh one them happens to be fire," Aliissa pointed out. "Which just adds another line of mystery, doesn't it. Why start something that could just as easily kill you." She was aware of vampire weaknesses, or at least one of Percival's, which seemed a bit odd. But it wasn't like Russell - or anyone - wouldn't expect her to keep some things to themselves. "Other than that little bit of note? No." Oh, there were a lot of things, but there was no way that she would be telling Russell what she coveted so closely. Secrets. Secrets were hers. Telling him would be putting far too much trust within his hands. "Anyway," she said with a bit of a yawn. "I do not intend to tramp around. I have a horse around here, so if you want to follow me," she wasn't actually making a protest, just a statement, "Then I will be heading back home."

broken mintedstar/fur🦇Lyle smiled, appreciating to an extent that things went well. Her 'what now' was rather typical when unsure on how to continue things. It was his gloating moments when his older sister was in a moment where he could gloat, but in respect he pushed away his desired laughter. "Well you can check on them if you so desire, get the information you desire then have the knights inform the queen instead of the new information." He suggested. "We desire to find out what is behind this mystery, but of course it will take time." He looked over at Patrick, "I hope she hasn't done anything life threatening." He spoke with optimism, unaware that she basically had the other two under house arrest back at the house. (This is like Patrick's moment to speak up lol) Glen had set the horses at the stables, he was planning on going after the two only to realize that he wasn't sure where they exactly went. So to avoid confusion, he hung out around the stables that way he would surely see them on the way back. 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 & Mint Coire went ahead to serve some glasses of water. Time was indeed starting to pass, and it was somewhat worrying him. Yes the knight present had a duty to watch them, but also what of the princess? Glen wouldn't mess up... He kept himself on the side of optimism. He served three glasses, then set them on a tray; proceeding to approach the other two to hand them water. "Here." He offered the two, "They'll be back." He encouraged.

Auransky 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Lupin took one of the water glasses, opening his mouth and almost tipping the entire contents into it. Of course he ended up spluttering and almost choking, but that didn't seem to bother him greatly. At least not for long. From the way his dark hair hung around his face it seemed like he was wilting just a bit. "That is a good statement right there," he sounded a bit tired, but not 'I wish to sleep' and more of 'I wish this was over'. "So we'll get to find out our mode of death instead of being kept in suspense any further." His voice was gloomy and very, very serious. It seemed like when he wasn't being a wallflower thanks to Arai's presence he was being a die-hard pessimist. Maybe he'd just resigned himself to the fact that his karma had once again caught up with him. Or so it seemed. With how trouble followed Lupin around like a hungry dog, was it any wonder he was suddenly gloomy?

Arai nodded in thanks and sipped at the cup. He realized that perhaps he shouldn't be outwardly worried like that and mentally shook himself. Now was no time to be distracted. Given the situation, even two people like this could take him in a battle. They even had the stones so who know what else they'd got their hands on.

Patrick remained silent for the longest time, looking at Lin, then at Lyle. He shrugged, still frowning. "Well we were basically forced to come here," he muttered, sort of chuckling nervously. "Your sister is kinda scary when she needs to be... but other than that, she's been okay."

Auransky brokenLin's shoulders stiffened a little as her brother gave Patrick an opening to cut in. She looked, outwardly, as she always did, but if you looked at her eyes they were blazing. There had been no need nor call for Patrick to make that statement and the 'softener' that he'd inserted at the end ... well, needless to say it hadn't stopped the sting. She remained silent, however. On the whole matter. "I believe," she said slowly. "That Gwen has been unable to find your room, brother dear. Should I go find him?" It wasn't even a question. Just a reason, however flimsy, to get out of the room before she said something that would have one or the other of them looking at her with puppy dog eyes as she threatened. She turned on her heals, sauntering for the door, and opened it with a bit too much force for someone who was 'calm'.

mintedstar/fur🦇 brokenNone of the following sounded like music to his ears. Retreating into silence he crossed his arms, with his attention focusing on his older sister. I trust her judgement... she has high expectations... but- He blinked with her sudden turn, and desire to leave. She mentioned Glen, H-He's here too? He stepped forward, reaching out for Lin who had clearly reached the door and was in the process of slamming it clearly shut. "H-He's probably waiting..." His voice was trailing off, she was gone, "Like most knights do.." His voice had lost the little encouragement it had with this revelation. Resting his free hand atop of his head, he turned to Patrick, "Why don't we go after her, before she slams a door on someones face." He addressed, now making his way for the door. Glen was waiting at the stables, because he was unsure of how much time the group would be there for; he decided it be best to just place the horses close to the door without actually removing their saddles and gear. This way when they made for their return trip, it would be a simple get up and go. 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛Coire wanted to laugh, not out of entire joy but a combination of fear, and optimism. To avoid any miscomunication, he kept it to himself, keeping a straight face as he relaxed onto a seat. "They will be back, it takes time to travel.." He tried to sound reasonable, but even at this point the sound of the clock in the other room was making this experience an eternity.

Auransky broken Lin strode along the walk, knowing perfectly well what Glen was probably doing. She just needed an excuse to clear her head and even a short walk would have done that. She knew that her brother was probably following her and so was Patrick, if she was to place any bets. She made no greeting as she noticed where Glen was standing out of the corner of her eye, simply changing direction so she was standing near him, one hand on her hip and the other hanging loose by her side. Looking a bit to the side, she waited for Lyle to catch up as well as Patrick.

mintedstar/fur🦇 brokenGlen was quietly keeping watch, assuring that traffic stayed low, as it normally would. Of course it did since everyone was constantly out or always glued to the walls within. The sound of footsteps, had him head out of the building to spot Lin approaching. It wasn't stomps, but rather her silence made it clear that something went down. Rather then saying anything he nodded silently. Lyle had waited for Patrick's response, with that alone he made his way after Lin; slightly rushing to keep her in view. While not exactly behind, it was far enough to see where she was headed. last thing he wanted was to loose her, especially at this moment when things were rather questionable.

Patrick just stood there, shocked. “Oh, um, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen...” he glanced over at Lyle, not sure how he could even apologize for putting everyone into this mess. He began following after the prince with a quick nod. “Yeah That’s probably a good idea.” He fell silent after saying that, heading out the door and shoving his hand so into his pockets, glancing around once before heading in the direction they had entered. “I hope your sister forgives us.”

((Alright here's our time skip)) Scene 1: In Town Tonight was a rather silent night, or at least it has been a silent night for several weeks now. The night raids, the bandits and fears of what may come have for a brief moment, been laid to rest. Is it the knights who have increased security or something else? The town near the castle was massive, and perhaps there was something wrong going on, but when compared to the large town it was still rather small. Aside from pugs, taverns, and late night clubs, the residents were all in bed, sound, put and hopefully out of harms way. The shopping districts for the most part too were quiet, silent still. To those who lives in their shop's buildings via second floor, there was some lights, though dim indicating the signs of life slowing for the night too. All was well... Around the district involving bakers, the sound of glass shattering broke silence. Followed by the sounds of many stomping footsteps, then shelves being tossed around. Next came the sound of horses, about three-maybe four. All of this was followed by the sound of more crashes... Nearby residents rushed out to the scene, only to find horses surrounding the door into the bakery in question. The window around the front too was shattered indicating the break in. Residents; husbands, wives, and children all came out natrually. But the men quickly pushed the women and children back in defense. Telling their loved ones to stay a distance. All for good reason... The shop exploded, flames instantly gaining speed as it became a clear indicator that someone had set flames to the shop from within. This explosion pushed the people back, though briefly... Now standing by the horses were three men, armed, bulky, and rather barbaric. Each holding a sack on their back. The three gave the towns people a look, but said nothing. Instead they jumped onto their horses and waited there, watching to see what the people would do. Children from the crowd screamed, that it was a night raid. Others screamed it was the bad guys. A few others called it the queen's dogs. Many others screamed it became hard to tell what was being said overall. As mothers hurried to hush their children from the growing chaos before them. Between this a 5th rider, who's horse jumped over the crowd from the far right came onto the scene. Joining the other four, he stopped and pulled forward a sack high in the air for all the see. "We warned you of the consequences." His voiced boomed into the night. "We don't play games, and for this we take our share and much more." With that he singled the others to charge through the crowd at full speed. The crowd had no time to react, so the most natural thing was that people pushed, slammed, and tossed one another to the left and right. The result? People trampling one another without the horses having to do any of the actual work. Children cried, others screamed. Mothers wailed, and angry men yelled at one another for not doing anything. A gentlemen in a nightgown ran into the scene panting with a pitchfork and torch at hand. He stopped at the sight of the shop in flames, and would have remained in awe, had the crowd not been present. "Are you all going to stand there?!" The man called the group out. "Those bandits have been causing us nothing but harm!" He cried out. "The time for action is now!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. Half of the crowd listened, the other half was occupied. It wasn't until the owner of the now on fire establishment made it into the scene with a sack at hand that the crowd started to die down. "Mr. Lauren.." The man with the nightgown blinked, "I thought you said you were going to stay and tend to your wife." Mr. Lauren walked up to the crowd, taking a moment to clear his throat. "I care not what happened to my shop." He slowly began. "They harmed my wife, but most importantly they took my child. Wont you please step up and help me get her back?" He asked. The gentlemen in the nightgown stepped forward, "I intend to pursue those men. But I also provided Mr. Lauren with some of my savings to help hire a mercenary. Wont you all step in?" He offered. Silence chilled. Mothers grabbed their children, and left the scene quickly. With children bickering as to why they were being forced to leve the scene. This would leave men, old, young and in their teens left standing. "I can help.." A young teen stepped forward. Another young male, followed by another, then another and several more agreed. They didn't have much to loose, at least that's how many of the young men saw it. The older men on the other hand hesitated with a few agreeing, but many more offering to pitch gold to help pay someone else to do the job. "I would like to help, but my face seen by those men? It will put my family at risk." Stated an older man. "They may kill me, and go after my family next. Or leave me to live while they target my family. What you ask Roy, is too much." The man in the nightgown, Roy, blinked in disbelief. "So you are going to let them live to another day?" He challenged gripping his pitchfork. "Fine, but at least assist in funding to pay someone-" "-And where are we going to get a mercenary this late at night?!" CHallenged another man. "-The pubs, and taverns are full of em." Roy countered. "But will they really help?" Another voice challenged. Scene 2: Outside the house
When the group left, it was three horses. Now upon return it was four horses. The group that had left brought back a +1, but was it by choice, or was it force? The four horses slowed towards the front of the house, all stopping when ordered. Outside the house, silence filled the air. Yet the light coming from inside the house was clear as day. There were three individuals waiting inside. Scene 2: Inside the House It felt like an eternity.. The stall, silence, talking, and what appeared to be never ending-was slowly coming to an end. As four horses from the wide window to the side were scene coming into view. Was it relief that came to the individuals inside, or worry? As it was three horses that had left, but four had returned.

Calec watched the drama go down with a somewhat bored expression. Sure he could have stepped in, but would that have accomplished. Honestly it was much more fun to watch the commoners swarm in panic. He yawned and stretched, thinking that he would go back to sleep. However when the man started calling for people to help Cal stopped. Striding forwards slightly he stayed to see who was foolish enough to offer their help. Maybe he could steal from them if they lived alone.
Arai stood at the sound of people arriving. He turned his attention outside and narrowed his eyes. They seemed to have picked up another person. He had his spear in hand, but he had no intention of using it... not yet at least. The knight was relieved that the princess was back, but who exactly was the new person. Were they someone he should be wary of?

Lupin
Lupin was always just a little more nervous than what might have been considered healthy. He breathed in and out, worrying at a corner of his clothing and biting at his lip. He watched Aria, bringing his legs closer to his body as he waited to see the results of what he was going to be facing. It wasn't a good thought, that something unforeseen had happened. Unforeseen was so rarely good. So often they involved something dangerous, and as far as he was concerned, Lin was already someone who wanted to put a death sentence on them. Good relations being created with her guard or not ...

Percival
The fire-bug was of course near the fire. That didn't mean he'd had anything to do with starting it, of course. He didn't need to. But where there was chaos having to do with flames he was always in the crowd, whether you recognized him or not. He was wearing a thin pair of glasses and a long cloak that might have been in danger of tangling on his heels. He was also caring a book, like he'd been interrupted. The crowd jostled him and he did his best to sway with it, but someone knocked into him and he nearly fell over. He hurriedly scrambled a few paces to the side, running into someone else, but oh well. His glasses reflected the amber light of the fire and he remained where he was even when it just seemed to be the volunteers for whatever problems that were to be complained about. Like Calec he'd remained here, but really not for the purpose that everyone else seemed to have.

Russell had returned to his place, Archie wanting to stay behind and he agreed. He was probably going to be out for a while anyway. The doctor locked the front door behind him before taking off, straight towards the fire that had previously started. Soon, the streets were busier with the startled crowd. He pushed his way through, trying to get past them as soon as possible. He was still trying his best to help who he had spoken to earlier, but so far he had no luck. And with the scene being so crowded, there was no way he could poke around and see what evidence he could find. Then, someone in particular caught his eye, someone who stood out from the crowd. They were dressed in a cloak and didn’t look frantic about whatever had happened. Immediately, the doctor made his way over.

Not panicked enough, no, but Percival did notice Russell head in his direction. Inwardly, he raised an eyebrow, outwardly he said, "Do you know of any mercenaries?" He'd heard the conversation. The calmness that he outwardly had was just his way. He pushed up his glasses and continued, "We need to hurry, I think. I wasn't here for the full thing, but everyone's in a right panic and I don't know if there's any way I can help." He rung his hands over the book. A small movement that might have been mistaken for underlining nerves and not careful playacting. But, again, he'd had nothing to do with starting this particular fire. He just could afford to hang around near it.

Russell looked between him, the fire, then back again. He nodded once, totally ignoring his first question. “That’s probably the best idea,” he muttered, raising a brow as he watched him before pointing in a random direction towards the forest. “Let’s get going. It’s not a good idea to stay around here for long.” Without waiting for an answer or caring if he actually followed, the doctor took off in that direction, pushing past the crowd. Only as soon as he was out of everyone’s way did he slow down. He did a quick look over his shoulder and paused a little ways away from everyone.

((Lemme tell you something. A scammer fighting a 4 year old really makes the morning better)) In town The group continued with murmors, and whispers a word every now and then. It was followed by ocassional silences and call outs. This clearly made the chaos not progress any further then needed. The older gentlmen who's daughter was taken was struck with grief. "Will no one bear arms?" He called out in distraught. Then shook his head, turning around signaling the other individual who had come to his aid. "Let's go look for a mercenary... we need someone, anyone. My girl-I want her home safely." The other gentlmen followed, as the two made their way out of the crowd. In the woods Coire blinked seeing the group return, it seemed like forever since their return. Perhaps it was a bad endidng for them? Afterall they had another person with them, and it was too dark out to see exactly who came back. He turned away from the window to look back at the other two. "Might as well go greet them, right?" Glen got off his horse silently. It was odd, no stranger-just unexpected. They had left with the princess and returned with the prince. Two siblings of royalty; who have their own agendas and own views on the situation. Clearly a sign for concern-as their burden had suddenly doubled. Lyle remained silent. He had asked his sister to come, knowing she wouldn't be happy. But he still came, knowing this was his mess, and responsibility. He was determined to see it towards the end. But what about the others? How do they feel? He wondered now. Stopping his horse he got off following the others as they made their way for in the house.
