mintedstar/fur🦇Russell shifted his weight from foot to foot as she took a few steps closer towards him. He hadn't thought about it before, but it was such an odd thing to do. The doctor nodded, still staring at her. "Thank you for informing me about this information. And yes, it is very odd that a noble is doing these things. Perhaps he is trying to cover up something, so he is keeping the people distracted?" -- Auransky, 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛, Mint Patrick nodded, setting down the objects he had collected on the counter. He had even set up the table before finally going to clean up. Once he had finished, he walked out into the hallway, only to freeze at the sight in front of him. For some reason, the princess and thee guard was here, but he didn't know why either. He glanced over at Glen, as if asking him silently.

Unless you have any other ideas of things that should be a pressing matter of my concern?" She raised an eyebrow at the doctor, silently asking him to challenge what she wanted to do. Her eyes were icy. (Feel free to suggest something else, though. )

mintedstar/fur🦇(uhh idk, he just sort of goes with the flow xD) Russell sort of shrank back as Aliissa stared at him. "Well maybe you should think this through more. The reason why he's on the run is probably because he knows that there's someone searching for him," he commented, running a hand through his ginger hair nervously. "Maybe we should see if the left any clues at the place the fires took place. There could be an actual reason why he's doing this." Unless, of course, you've already checked..."

broken(And Aliissa likes to run the show, whoops. XD ) "Oh, he knows I'm searching for him," said Aliissa, lips tightening. But she sighed and nodded. "Checking...yes." She turned on her heals again and changed the direction of where she was walking. She had only briefly looked at the two places Percival had set on fire, and this was because she could only do so much when other people were sifting through it. Maybe it had calmed down by now. She walked as if she expected Russell to follow and turned several corners until the smell of soot reached her sensitive senses.

He turned to face the princess and her knight instead, "WEll please do take a seat in the living quarters and we will have dinner ready shortly." He invited. He awaited for them to enter the room , "Well I must get preperations read,y, please excuse me." He said then walked further down the hall. ((This can be said investigation time for Arai. Checks out the yard, doesn't notice anything too strong then follows the faint trail of magic, finds the stash of crystals in a shed, burred underground beneath an old wagon etc what have you. Returns to the dinner table with said pouch and would lead us into said interrogation scene. Any other character is free to intervene before this interrogation scene too. Whether its this group, or Alliissa and Russell xD)) He approached Lupin, with a brief nod and a look in his face that was screaming, This is bad but with that he walked over towards the next room where he spotted Patrick who had clearly finished prepping the table. He stopped then whispered lightly, "Yea, I'll explain later.." He said then walked past him into the kitchen where his brother was just standing there in silence. "Seriously?" Glen softly whispered. "Well what was I supposed to do? Tell em to go home?" Coire whispered back. Glen shrugged, "Why are they here?" "Dinner.." Coire shrugged. We're in trouble... Glen silently face palmed. If we keep them here at dinner, then send them off. It'll be on the edge, but we would gain more time to move the crystals to the cottage in the morning... He considered then shook his head. "Just get ready to dine. You've done a lot today." He calmly stated, swallowing every inch of desire to just scream right now. "Patrick and Lupin are washing up, so you should too. We'll eat in five minutes."

I think that's a good idea.)
Arai slipped from the room, they all seemed busy with their own work. The princess would be fine, and if anything did happen he would be close. There was something strange, but he couldn't quite pin it down. The only way he would really know would be to look around. He started with the room in the house. Nothing really felt right. Gradually he made his way outside into the yard. Suddenly a spike in magic caught his attention.

The angel glanced down at the kid who was with him and was being surprisingly quiet through this whole thing. He gave Archie a little smile, gently grabbing his hand before turning and following suit. “I’m not sure how helpful this might be, but my reasoning does make sense, correct? There might be a correlation between the fires. How they started, clues as to where he might be headed, what might be next.” — @ everyone Patrick was now glaring at Coire. Why would he even think it was a good idea to bring the knight and princess here when the blacksmith knew that they had the gems with them. His gaze landed on the princes, then the knight, now suddenly becoming nervous... was he going to check the yard? DId he know that they buried the crystals? The teenager frowned and trying to ignore Arai as he made his way over towards the dinner table. “Is- is there anything I can help with or not?”

broken mintedstar/fur🦇 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛((Let's push for the best scene of the night!)) Coire turned to Patrick shaking his head, "You've done more then enough. Now just get ready for a dinner to remember." He frowned in disapointment. He clearly wasn't looking forward to this, not one bit. "Just stray off anything directly relating to you know what, and push for anything no matter how random it is. That's what dinner is for right? Random discussion." He considered. Glen nodded with a defeated shrug, "Yea, we're doomed.." He softly stated. "Might as well die trying and if worst comes to worst we pull our last trump card." "Oh?" Coire turned intreeged, "We have a trap?" Glen placed both hands on the counter, "We have the prince. We're following his rules, therefore we are simply doing what we need to be doing." He reminded the too. "Now hurry up Patrick fresh up, and bring Lupin to the table. We need to all be together for this one. Last thing we need is Arai stabbing us." "But you're a knight." Coire immediately replied. "Yes, but not at his rank." Glen shrugged. "I'm working for it, but we know I'll never be father." he lastly said turning away at the thought.

She came out into the road where the first burned out house was. It was now just floating ash, blackened wood and stone, as well as a few staring bystanders. The smell of fire was still strong in the air. Aliissa stopped and turned to look at both Russell and Archie, though she hardly payed any attention at all to Archie. "This house...and another two blocks down. It's interesting to note that both fires didn't spread to the neighboring houses." She tilted her head at him and said, "As for evidence...there must be connections, but I can never find them. Perhaps another pair of eyes."

She wondered if they'd forgotten she was in the building. -- broken(Both of our characters have double letter names. ) "Three," said Aliissa, pointing at the small boy. "Unless," she said, sniffing, almost suspicious. "You are just one person walking around in two bodies." She honestly wouldn't have been surprised, but she wasn't going to tell Russell that. "Yes, yes of course," she said, waving the hand that wasn't holding onto the cane. "Two fires. The one you are looking at now was started first, late last night. It was a sudden fire, started and caught unusually quickly. Everyone, as far as we found, got out." She pointed to the left and added, "The river is close by, so there was even a means to put it out. No one was seen fleeing the scene that didn't come out of the building." Her hand moved off to the left. "Fire number two was started within five minutes after. It was an empty building and no other building were close enough to catch on fire with it. There were no witnesses, since that doesn't have any house, only some places that store materials. No deaths, only a few cases of smoke inhalation. No one found the means of how they were lit."

That is supposed to be on a need to know basis." He softly bickered. Glen turned to patrick , who suggested they leave him out. But at this point he saw it as a need in case the situation flew South. He was about to reply when Lin literally walked into their conversation. He instead bit his lip now, he had briefly forgotten about their situation ... "Y-yes..." Coire slowly replied . "We were wondering about your brother is all " he tried to back up the wprds, but more importantly push off the topic. "Since your family ra rarely appears publicly." we're screwed

Arai was wandering around the yard, tailing the magic when he spotted something. A faint light. It was in the shed and the magic got stronger as he got closer. Opening it he moved around in the darkness before coming upon a small pouch. Scraping around in the dirt with the end of his spear he hooked the small bag and brought it closer to him. He opened the bag and his eyes widened. He needed to know why this was here. He turned to enter the house.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 broken Auransky(*evil laugh*) "Were you?" questioned Lupin, shrugging it all off like it didn't matter. Hey. He didn't care what they were keeping from him. It wasn't like his life was going to get better if they told him whatever they were trying to hide. Lin held no such reservation. "Uh huh," she said scathingly. "If that was the truth, you would not be looking like I just told you I was going to execute you. Or possibly that you were just accused of something illegal." Her eyebrows raised and Lupin groaned. "Oh please. Don't even use it as a comparison. Don't joke about that." He'd gone almost as white as a sheet. "Who," said Lin carefully. "Said I was joking?"

mintedstar/fur🦇(That was a random comment, but I didn’t even notice that they did xD) Russell blinked a eww times, looking st the little boy who still clung to his lab coat. He shook his head with a chuckle. “Oh no, we are two different people, I assure you,” he commented. Then, the doctor looked back towards the still smoking rubble. He took a few steps closer towards the ash, then used his shoe to kick what was left of the burnt wood. “Interesting. Since the fire was started so close to the river, the intention of the burning was not meant to be long,” he only shrugged at that, then continued. “But there has to be a reason why the two buildings were on fire. If it’s was for a distraction, then I would think one would be enough. But you said there was a five minute interval between the fires, so the way each was lit had to be quicker than usual, which narrows down the options. There could have been a chemical involved to help ignite it.” — 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛, Auransky, Mint Patrick slapped a hand over his mouth as soon as he said ‘prince,’ now realizing his mistake. “Oh sh... I didn’t mean to say that,” he grumbled softly, looking at the princess now. He was a little surprised a side she continued. He just stood there, now growing nervous. There was no way that’s they could get out of this, and the excuse that Coire gave wasn’t very effective... obviously. “But what if we told you the truth?” He finally asked. “W-would you Maybe rethink everything you just said that wasn’t but a joke? Maybe even a little bit?”

Would she consider her brother-well insane? or think it all to be a lie. Then Patrick spoke up, he blinked turning his attention towards the gentlemen before him. No use lying now. broken(Yes, it was. I noticed a long time ago and forgot to mention it when it was even less relevant. XD ) "Exactly," agreed Aliissa. "But I wouldn't know what sort of chemical. Not my field. I'm far more interested in his motive than I am to the way in which he carried the action out." She waved her hand in the direction that the other house would be if you could actually see it. "Not sure as to why there were two buildings. That's unusual. Usually it's only one within a certain day. The rest I've seen, it was more likely that the fire spread. But...well, perhaps you'd be better at figuring it out." (I'm not exactly sure if I'm missremembering or not, but I think there was a tunnel between the two houses.)

Lupin was looking rather forlornly around at all the exits. Well, here it was again. He'd gotten in with a bad crowd and his life was flashing in front of his eyes. It was becoming a very long and detailed show, his life was. Pity it wasn't giving him an intermission. Not like he could tell the princess what she wanted to hear. He didn't have a clue what Patrick was talking about. But he was feeling like it was his fault for repeating the words he'd overheard within earshot of Lin. This was bad.

If not, it’s fine) “Well it is my field,,” Russell stated calmly, thinking back to any of his previous customers that might have been shady, but no one in particular popped into mind. “However we won’t focus on that. If you want to know his motive, we’ll try to figure that out. But it might be easier to actually find him though. I don’t know how much information we can find about a motive looking at the evidence.” Still, the doctor was staring out at the debris. “As for why he burnt down two houses instead of one... maybe he needed to hide something? But what could he want to hide?” — @ everyone “Certainly, m’lady,” Patrick said, bowing slightly before collecting his fault. “It was mostly my fault along with Coire. We went to the mines to investigate after being told not to enter, because we wanted to see what the kingdom was hiding. That’s when we found your brother... and some weird magically gems,” he commented, pausing as he glanced around the room. Of he was missing a part of the story, he hoped that they would interrupt him. “Your brother was injured, so we brought him back here to help him, and in’s the meantime we experimented on the gems.” He pointed over his shoulder toward some the door. “After finding out how powerful they were ...we tried to hide the gems out back.”

She seemed to have no problem with messing up the scene and she easily picked her way through the bits that were still emitting smoke. "Finding him is the problem. He isn't that easy to catch." Her cane waved around in the air and she picked her way in a steady gate. Like she didn't need it at all. Looking down you could see that her left foot was on a flat board about two inches off the ground and the other was on the bare (mostly, ash and dirt of course) ground. "We didn't intend to go to the mines because there was something wrong. It had mainly to do with me mistaking my brother for well, your brother." He told Lin. "Apperently the prince took my brother's horse, and hood, and fled for the mines." He glimpsed over at Glen, who was clearly confused about that minor detail. "The prince was injured by what he claimed to be a demon encounter. It is during that encounter that the prince also claimed that what he found was taken by the demon which attacked him." He added. Glen blinked, he recalled the morning being filled in. But wasn't aware of what had exactly had happened. He glimpsed slightly away now before looking back towards the group. "On that same night I was attacked by bandits, a hunter, and a family of werewolves. They were having their own quarrel, but they spoke up about something bad being uncovered from the depths of earth." He crossed his arms now, falling silent. Coire blinked now, this too was the first time he was informed of Glen arriving literally beat up that night. "W-Well anyways." He returned to the topic. "The prince asked us to accompany him back because he was looking for something." He paused hearing Arai enter the conversation, with the sack. "W-Well, yea that's what we were asked to help him find." He added, his voice softening to the finding. Oh, he'd asked, but now he realized that was a mistake. Lin, however, was taking everything in with crossed arms. Her eyes flickered over to Arai and what he was carrying. Well then. Maybe this was had her so uneasy. The thing that these people were hiding. Lupin had the forethought to get out of Arai's way and made to go behind Glen and Coire, not wanting to be the center of attention just because he was half-blocking the door. Lin's eyes followed him. What an odd, skittish man. "I'm not sure if I should believe any of this," she finally said. "Lyle isn't here to confirm. However," and here she tilted her head down, looking at Patrick, Glen, and Coire (and Lupin, but he didn't meet her eyes) out of the top of her eyes. "I hardly see a reason to follow through with anything I said. Not going that far, of course. However," there was that however again, "I want Lyle's confirmation on this."
