{GUESS WHO'S BACK on their desktop bc laptop is still broken} Sidney smiled at the slight blush she'd caused his face to reveal and stood up. "I'd love it if you came with me." Her voice was soft, yet held above a whisper. She pulled out a small slip of paper with her number on it and folded it in half, but didn't give it to him until after she'd kissed the blank side of the note with her freshly glossed lips. "Pick me up at 8?" she asked with a flash of excitement through her eyes. Contrasting from her gaze, her lips were set at a neutral position and her exit out of the room was perfectly executed- simple, but with a touch of mystery as her shadow slipped from the room.
{idk if you wanted to skip or what but sorry this post is so short. I'll be on later today, but tonight I'm switching to at&t for my phone plan so hopefully I can save some extra bucks for the new laptop} Kellan just watched as she left, his cheeks turning a deep shade of pink. He blinked and slid the piece of paper into his pocket as he placed the guitar back, and he grabbed his leather jacket as he rushed out of the school. He slid on the jacket and zipped it up as he rushed to his bike in the parking lot before sliding his black helmet with a dark tinted visor blocking his face. He got the bike started and raced out of the parking lot and pulled up in his driveway. He dismounted in the garage and placed his helmet on his bike seat. He knew he would have to borrow his mom's car to pick up Sidney, so he went inside and started to look through his phone.
His heart stopped as he saw that Chester Bennington had committed suicide. He rushed to his room and closed his door, locking it for some reason before blaring Linkin Park music. He kept looking through the reports, and his breathing picked up as he found more and more reports about it. He let out a yell and threw his phone onto his bed before making a mess of his room, still having some sense not to break valuables.
Little did Kellan know that his siblings had come home and were now downstairs, scared of the racket going on. Kevin, Kellan's only brother, got out his phone and called Kendra, their older sister. He said,"Kendra, you need to get here fast. Kellan is acting up."
Kendra had already known about Chester's death and was on her way. "Really now? I'm on my way."
"How did you know?"
"Uhm... Sister's intuition."
She hung up and drove quickly to the house. She had moved out and to an apartment near her college, so she didn't live with her family anymore. When she arrived, she parked and ran out of the car, barely remembering to lock it. She rushed into the house and looked at Kevin trying to comfort a crying Kembrelle. Kendra nodded at Kevin and rushed up the stairs, knocking on Kellan's door frantically as she tried to open the door. Locked. That only made her more concerned- added with the now silence coming from his room. Besides the Linkin Park music, of course. She reached up over the door and grabbed the key from the doorway before unlocking his door and opening it.
The sight she saw was upsetting. Books and sheets were thrown about his room, and Kellan himself was curled into a ball in the corner of his room, shaking, crying, and having his hands into his hair, pulling slightly at it. She rushed over and hugged her distraught brother. It was clear he was having a breakdown, and she couldn't do much but be there for him and let him cry in her shoulder until he was calm.
Kellan slowly calmed down, and he sniffed before remembering the party. "I-I've got a party to go to tonight."
Kendra said,"Well, let's get you cleaned up then."
Kellan sniffed again and let Kendra lead him around and get him cleaned up. There was a hollow look in his eyes as Kendra helped him clean his face and picked out some clothes for him while he tried to fix his hair. She picked out the least ripped jeans he had and a loose Linkin Park shirt. She left the room to let him change and when she returned, Kellan was quietly looking out the window, lost in his thoughts. She walked up to him and loosely grabbed his hand, leading him back to the bathroom so that she could fix his hair better.
By the time they were done, it was nearing 7:30. Kellan dug in his other pair of pants and grabbed Sidney's number before putting it in his phone to send her text while he waited.
Hi. It's Kellan. Just wanted to let you know I'm not a creeper who has your number.

Sidney was accompanied by her sister, who had insisted on walking her home after her first day of school. "So how was it?" she'd asked her. It took every ounce of her not to hide her excitement as they crossed through the parking lot and down the road. "Oh, it was good! I met a guy who offered to show me around the school and was was very insightful." She smiled at the ground and silently remember to herself the exact moment that he'd bumped into her. Gosh, if only her heart wouldn't beat so fast like this every time she had thought about him that day.
Her sister smiled and nudged her. "That's great! I'm glad you had someone to be there for you. I know it's not so easy being the new girl." She then paused as Sidney's words hit her like a truck. "Waaait wait, wait, wait a minute. I thought you knew where all your classes are? You're smart, Syd. Why on earth would yo-.. OOHHH! You LIKE him!!" Her sister squealed in excitement and Sidney immediately shot up from her daze.
"Ssshhh! Oh my god, Kel! Could you be any louder?" Her frustration melted into a wide smile. "I think he's picking me up to go to a party tonight. Is that okay?"
Her sister, Kelsey, wiggled her eyebrows in a teasing gesture to make her smile even more. "Yeah, that's fine. Just be careful, okay? I once went here, too. I know how the guys can be if you let them take advantage of you." She couldn't help but feel a bit concerned. Hopefully Sidney was more than just book-smart and had a bit of common sense in that thick little head of hers.
SIdney rolled her eyes but managed to present a small smile. "I know, I know. Kellan is really sweet, though. And wait until you see him. He's... gosh, he's just adorable. And he's really into music, like daddy was." Her voice trailed away at the thought of their dad, and she rested her head on her sister's shoulder as she felt Kelsey's arm slide around her shoulder to comfort her.
"I know," she replied. "He would be so proud to see you all grown up."
---
The rest of the walk had been silent, but as they reached the steps of their little beach house, Sidney already felt her spirits lifted. She sat in her room for awhile listening to old Hawaiian records from her collection, including hits from the one and only Elvis Presley, while scrolling through her phone and popping an old movie. When it neared the time for her to start getting ready, she checked her phone once more and giggled quietly at Kellan's text. She opened up her phone to reply, and after about fifteen minutes of deciding what to say, she settled with a good:
Phew. Glad I know the name behind the number. See you soon
She began to get dressed, keeping on her pair of ripped jeans but dug through her closet to find the perfect tank and shoes to pair along with it. After it began to near eight o'clock, she texted Kellan her address and headed downstairs, where her sister immediately began to playfully cat call her to compliment her outfit.
"That kid better keep his hands off of you or I'll have to pull out the claws," she joked.
Sidney laughed and pulled out some catfood for her cat, who then proceeded to eat and purr up against Sidney's dangling legs while she sat on the kitchen island. "Don't worry, I don't think he's into me like that.." she said with a slight laugh.

{lol except he'll chicken out at the last second don't think I don't plan ahead heheh}
Mick shook his head in an attempt to hide his amusement from Lani. In truth, he didn't particularly care too much if she drove the speed limit or not, so long as he wouldn't be the one responsible for crashing the care and paying for a DUI. He was a bit too excited when he tossed her the keys and hopped out of the car from his side to move over to the passenger seat. "Yup. Definitely not driving," he said with a small laugh. "Don't worry about where we're going. Just drive out of the neighborhood and I'll give you directions." He grunted as a small headache began to form near his temples. It was nothing but a harmless little headache that a person got on a random occasion for not drinking enough water. He knew he was dehydrated, as he always was after drinking a little bit. "I'm thirsty," he stated blankly. It wasn't the fact that he had drank too much at the party. After all, it was only one beer. It was just a pattern of some sort that Mick would always say what was on his mind when he had a bit of it washed in his system. Hopefully it wouldn't get him in trouble later tonight with Lani (*queue my evil laugh* shall they go down to the secret beach that they went to in our 1x1? :,) }{Poor Mick lol. And YES let's do that} Lani smiled in amusement, a bit looser with showing emotion now that they had found common ground and she had been able to talk about it. Being able to get excited about something did a lot for how she acted. She got out of the car and proceeded to switch seats with him. They probably should have thought about this earlier, but she hadn't expected that they would come back to the car. She had expected to be a wallflower for an hour and then call her brother to go home. "Of course you're thirsty," she scoffed playfully. "Alcohol isn't exactly hydrating." She started the car and started driving out of the neighborhood. She started at a normal pace to get out of the neighborhood, but quickly started going faster once there was less of a risk that she would accidentally drive into somebody's house. "If I wasn't driving, I'd probably get awfully suspicious of being told not to worry about where we're going." She still had a playful tone to her voice, light and easy rather than blunt. It was easy to see she was more relaxed now, as well as entertained. Mick rolled his eyes but had to life a hand up to his face to rub them. "Take a left here and park down the road." He snickered slightly when he saw the like where the sky met the sea (moana moment oops sorry not sorry) and pointed out the window. "I'm a sucker for the stars. They're so gorgeous. I mean a lot of people at school are gorgeous, like this one girl named Lani I met earlier. She's pretty cool I guess, but I bet she thinks the stars are stupid." Mick wasn't necessarily drunk, but he was not in any kind of sober state that kept him in control of his thoughts. He mainly just said what he was thinking out loud after after a few drinks and that was pretty much it.
He looked over toward Lani and frowned. "You're safe with me, my friend. Although with you're kind of driving, I'm not sure if it's me we'll have to worry about." His voice held no recognition of what he'd said just moments earlier, and instead consisted of a mock look of concern. "Responsible little Lani doing something dangerous, yOwza. Who is she?" He nudged her slightly before leaning over toward his window, to where he then rolled it down and stuck an arm out. "See that cliff? Heck yeah, that's where we're going. No one ever comes here." He failed to tell her why, but figured that was only of relevance if they got caught. As much as Mick wished it was his own little private property, it already belonged to someone else. The home owners who lived off the cliff above them never came out of their house, but managed to scare off anyone else from coming near them. Mick had cut their grass a few times as a kid but never once came inside their large estate. It was an old couple who were mad that they were getting old, and all they cared about was 1) who was on their property and 2) their grandkids. Because they now had little children running around, it was too dangerous to let them in their spacious backyard that ended at an abrupt stop. As for Mick, well.. someone had to use it.
Little did Lani know that below that cliff, there was a beach. And the only way down...
...was to cliff jump.

{That song is gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the day I'm calling it now}
Lani felt her face heating up, but she rolled her eyes as if what he was saying wasn't embarrassing her. It wasn't like she hadn't been complimented before or that she had any bad self-esteen--actually, she was quite aware that she didn't look half bad--but she wasn't exactly good at taking compliments. "You didn't even drink that much and you're already talking nonsense," she said. "For your information, I quite like the stars and I have made some questionable decisions before. I just make smart questionable decisions." That probably wouldn't make any sense to his somewhat tipsy state, but it made sense to her. She was a planner, and so she always made sure she knew what she was doing before going along with it. She always needed to have control, which was another reason why she never drank. Mostly, it just made her uncomfortable though.
She parked where he told her to and got out of the car, rolling her neck. She looked up at the sky while waiting for Mick to get out. It was a nice night, she mused. She was a bit of a dreamer, so she was absolutely certain that she would never get tired of looking at the stars. It was a shame that lights always tended to block them out. She had had a few surreal moments under the stars that she wouldn't mind experiencing again. In any case, the night was already better now that she was away from loud noises and could quietly appreciate the sky. Until Mick dragged her off to do whatever he wanted to do, but it probably wouldn't be too bad.
{I'm absolutely not projecting onto Lani again because I just remembered the time I was hanging out in a pool on a clear night with a few other friends and saw a shooting star. Of course not}

Mick frowned at her smart little sentences but shrugged it off as he led her behind the old couple's house. His devilish grin had soon taken over his whole expression as he led them toward the edge of their yard, which ended in a steep drop into a body of water and a small beach area that sat below. The calm waves of the water rose up on the sandy surface and fell back to its source, where it faded into the next wave that would repeat the same pattern. Mick slipped off his shirt for what was now the second time tonight, but this time slipping off his jeans as well. "You ready?" he asked her, slightly dazed from the adrenaline that coursed through his body. He pointed over the cliff, to where they would safely land in the water. Most likely. He'd only ever done it twice. Not that she needed to know that.
He knew that Lani probably wasn't into such reckless behavior, but he knew what he was doing. While he watched her facial expression change, he mentally counted down in his head. It didn't matter what she said because they were already in trouble. He mentally counted down in his head. 3.. 2.. 1..
Suddenly an alarm sounded throughout the area, and Mick began to laugh. He watched Lani as he called out, "There's no going back now. It's either jump or get caught." He held out a hand, inviting her to jump with him before the couple would either deactivate the alarm thinking it was an animal or call the cops when they saw the two standing on their property.

Lani looked down, which was probably a bad idea. She wasn't exactly comfortable with heights, or anything that could potentially grievously injure and/or kill her. It would most definitely be fun, but she was too cautious of a person. "Wait, what?" She startled as the alarm went off. Oh you son of a--, she cursed in her head. She decided to be nice and not actually say it, or say how much she currently hated him. They weren't at that level of friendship yet, if the way he frowned at the way she spoke was any indication. Most of her close friends were used to it, so she kept her more biting comments for them.
Unlike him, she didn't strip. She was perfectly fine with keeping her clothes on, and much more comfortable even if it weighed her down a bit more. "Fine," she sighed and took his hand, pretending it didn't make her stomach roll just a bit. She was already uneasy from the cliff and touching people wasn't something she really enjoyed, so that's what she chalked that feeling up to. She probably wouldn't die or actually hurt herself, but she was also a bit of a pessimist. She made herself feel better by telling herself that this was definitely Mick's fault and at least she wouldn't be alone. This was better than getting arrested, anyway. She had a clean record in pretty much everything and she preferred to keep it that way.

{AGH GOALS EVEN THOUGH LANI WANTS TO RIP HIS FACE OFF}
Mick laughed as they ran off the cliff, yelling as they fell into the water with a big splash. He swam to the sandy surface of the private beach and propped himself up on his back with his arms as he watched her swim to the surface. "Alright, we're here," he called out with an amused tone of voice.
He knew that she wasn't exactly happy about the situation, judging by her facial expression when she grabbed his hand, but decided the best way to get out of her angry wrath was to find humor in the situation. The cops weren't coming after them, and they were alone on a soft stretch of sand. The palm trees swayed calmly with the breeze and the stars were the most visible from this point. There were no lights nearby, so the sky was filled with more stars than he could even begin to count. He smiled softly up toward the natural source of light before returning his gaze toward Lani. She looked furious- no, more like.. boiling with rage. He smiled and gave her a nonchalant wave as she drew closer to him.

{Honestly same. Their relationship is the quiet, somewhat scary one with the cheerful, reckless one}
Lani was oddly quiet as they jumped, focusing more on trying to maintain her bearings and not show fear. It was... kind of fun, though she sputtered when they fell into the water and she had to bring her head out of the water. She shook her head, deciding to deal with getting her hair out of her face before swimming to the shore. It was a good thing she had opted for waterproof make-up. Unfortunately, she had no way of checking to make sure it actually worked. She wasn't exactly vain, but she did like knowing she looked good. She had, admittedly, done some things in the past, but she never jumped off a cliff. That was something her brother did, not her. She preferred staying home and watching Netflix while texting commentary to her friends. "Well, that was fun," she said as she plopped down next to him, joining him in leaning back and looking at the stars again. "I probably won't be doing that again any time soon, but it was interesting at least. Reminded me of one of those carnival rides." She sounded disgruntled and sarcastic, but she was actually telling the truth. She made it her goal in life to be misleading and confusing, right next to being successful. As much as she hated doing risky things, she did enjoy them. It just took a bit of a push for her to actually do them.

{awh Lani bless your soul}
Mick laughed as she plopped down on the sand next to him before taking a deep breath and taking in the situation that had just occurred. While he expected her to at least slap him once in the face for doing so, she seemed oddly calm and humorous about jumping off a cliff. "Hey, at least now you have a story to tell," he pointed out with a teasing smirk. He glanced in her direction and felt an odd feeling of warmth as the two sat there quietly. He liked the quiet, but most of all he liked the fact that he wasn't alone. While he liked to spend time on his own, he normally didn't like to do anything too exciting unless he was with his friends. Oddly enough, however, he didn't really care if this was something they talked about to other people. He liked the idea of having something just between the two of them because it made it seem all the more special.
"Best carnival ride I've ever been on, though," he joked. The faint chirping of the night time cicadas were very calming and the night air wasn't too cold for their wet clothes- well, her wet clothes. His boxers. For the moment, Mick was perfectly content. Realizing that he was still looking at her as he dazed off, he turned his head back up toward the sky and tried to hide a small flush that had now spread across his cheeks. "What's the craziest thing you've ever done? Yanno, besides this, unless you have something that can top it." He glanced over at her and shot her a challenging stare before showing off his brilliant set of dimples in a wicked smile. Mick had to admit that he was very intrigued by how much he didn't know about Lani just yet.

{And Mick is smitten CX This is the moment of "the stars are beautiful. You know what else is beautiful?" except Lani would be like "the moon" or something because she is not having that cliche (or meme) pulled on her}
Lani could feel his eyes on her, but she didn't acknowledge it. She was too busy looking at a sight she rarely got to see to wonder too much why he was looking at her. It was peaceful and dark and quiet and that was how she liked it. It wasn't scary, but maybe that was because there was someone with her. She wouldn't have gone out here on her own, no matter how much she liked the water and the sky. It was a bit too easy for her to get lost in musing over the sound of the water and how the moon reflected over it, and how, even though the party absolutely sucked, she was happy to be on this beach. She hadn't been on a beach at night in years, and the last time had been with her family. It was something she had always wanted to recreate, but she hadn't been able to.
"Hm?" She looked at him, shaking herself out of her thoughts. "Uh... I can't say I do anything particularly crazy... My friend and I snuck into one of those cliche graveyards with the creepy gargoyles and everything. This was like, before I moved here last year. I don't really do much, so that's not very interesting. Um, I almost set my aunt's house on fire once. That's about the extent of it unless you want me to talk about that dead bird I made my friend carry around or that time my friends made me contribute to their weird fanfiction. I never really joined my friends in anything that can really constitute as 'crazy,' not that many of us really did anything. It was like, one or two of my friends that actually did things. The rest of us stayed at home and requested for hot pizza guys and girls to come by." She smiled a bit in amusement. It wasn't anything really extravagant, but it had been fun for her. They were all too busy to do much together anymore, but thinking back on it always made her happy.
{I couldn't think of anything "crazy" an introverted teenage girl would do that didn't include drinking and parties, but Lani is very, very friend-oriented so all her stories have to do with them haha}

Dmitri ducked his head as though trying to hide so nobody would notice him as he walked in, closing the door as asked. It was pretty much a useless attempt, but he firmly pretended that it was true that if he couldn't see them, they couldn't seem him. It was somewhat pathetic. He found somewhere to linger, looking around and watching absently as Matt got ready. It was odd how he moved so in contrast to his whole aesthetic, but it showed how he fit in with the clique. It was interesting, and somehow made him relax a little. He knew how to handle people that were a part of his same group. Dmitri looked at the music, trying to figure it out in his head while waiting for Matt to finish whatever he was doing. He hummed a bit to warm up, not wanting to go through actual voice exercises when there were people around that weren't the rest of the choir. It was weird for him. He startled as he usually did when he was addressed, and he nodded quickly. "Oh, yes. I'm ready." Matt nodded. " Cool. Alright. Well, are you warmed up or whatever vocalists need to do?" He didn't want Dmitri to harm his voice by not warming up properly. He dug back in his book sack and got his flip-folder out with his marching music in it before playing a few warm-up scales. "Oh. I also have my marching band music, and we play some popular songs in case you wanted to sing those instead of the classical music stuff. I know everyone has their preferences." He smiled softly at the other, shy male. Matt hoped Dmitri would warm up to him and let loose. He felt as if the other Music Dude had relaxed a bit, but Matt wanted Dmitri to be completely comfortable being around him since they're in the same clique and all that.

Kellan received the text with the address, and he hugged his sisters and brother before grabbing his keys and walking to his car in the garage. Yes, he did have a car per his mom's insistence, but he didn't use it that much. He backed out carefully, avoiding his bike and his sister's car and stopped at the end of the driveway to send Sidney a text.
On my way.
He sighed and put the address in his phone's GPS before driving off to Syd's house. He pulled up and parked before sitting in his car for a moment or two to gather his thoughts and make himself look somewhat normal because his expression wasn't the normal "Kellan way." He got out of his car and closed the door, locking it as he walked up to the door. He took a deep breath and rang the doorbell before running a hand through his hair as he waited. Even though, he made himself as normal as he could, it was obvious something was wrong. It looked like he had been crying a little bit, and he was slightly paler than normal, but anyone who didn't know him wouldn't suspect anything was wrong.

Normally he'd have something sarcastic to say in response, but the words escaped his mind before he could make use of them up in his head. Instead, he stared up at the sky with his hands behind his head, letting his thoughts come and go as more stars began to dot along the sky. From the corner of his eye he noticed a shooting star and couldn't help but allow a small laugh to escape from his lips. After catching his breath, he turned to look at Lani with an incredulous stare, wondering if she'd noticed it, too. The moment was too cliche, even for Mick's hopeless romantic taste. He wasn't really planning on making the night as amorous as it had become, and although he couldn't deny how pretty she looked in the moment, it just seemed too soon to want to be anything more than friends. For now, he'd save his thoughts for a different point in time.
Mick sat up to stretch his back and arms, not bothering to fix the layer of sand that now clung to the back of his head and back side of his body. As he crossed his legs to remain upright, he held out a hand to offer the chance for Lani to sit up as well. Letting his curiosity get the best of him, he ended up blatantly asking her, "Why did you come to Lincoln High?" His face stiffened as he noticed how much more antagonizing his question had come out than he'd meant to, making him shake his head to eagerly take it back. "I, uh.. That wasn't supposed to sound mean; I'm just curious." He clenched and unclenched his jaw, hoping he's find a different question to ask. Instead, he let random words flow from his mouth. "You seemed really uptight earlier and I guess I'm just kind of proud that I could get you to relax a little. I know we just met and all, but you're pretty cool. That is, for someone who's a total DC and math nerd." He smirked at the last part, hoping she'd see his sense of humor. After a nervous chuckle, he lifted his other hand up and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry for dragging you to out to the party.. and then here. I get that being unrestrained and a bit foolish isn't really your scene." He shot her an apologetic look, hoping she'd be able to make light of their situation. He didn't plan on telling her that there was another private way to get down here without causing a fuss until later. For the most part, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Maybe he should stop trying to talk.

On my way.He sighed and put the address in his phone's GPS before driving off to Syd's house. At the sound of the doorbell, Sidney shot a panicked expression toward her sister, who then hurried over to answer the door. "Hello!" She greeted cheerfully. Not detecting his trace of abnormality, she invited him in and showed him to the kitchen, where Sidney had hopped off the counter and was waiting for Kellan to come in. At the sight of Kellan's slightly distraught expression, she couldn't help but frown. He was dressed nicely for the party, but he looked.. uncomfortable. Although she wanted to ask him what was wrong, she didn't want to make him feel bad in front of her sister, or anyone else that could have been present with them.
Growing up, Sidney was very skilled at reading peoples' expressions, but didn't want to insert herself to where she may not be wanted. She allowed her cheery act to follow through their farewells to her sister before turning to Kellan on the front porch, where she offered a gentle hand to reach out and touch his arm comfortingly. "Are you okay?" she inquired, her gaze distraught with a slight worry. Through the short period of time that she'd known him, he'd been very polite and understanding from the start. The least she could do was try to ease whatever he was feeling that made him look so shaken up, or be there to listen. "You don't look too hot. I mean.. you look good; heck, you're really cute. Er- what I mean is that you look, fine, but, yanno.. not fine." Help.
She motioned for him to take a seat on her front porch with her, not caring too much if they came later to the party. Whatever was on his mind, she was there for support of her new acquaintance. "I'm here for you, whatever's going on." She offered him a soothing smile, hoping that whatever was bothering him wasn't too horrible.

He blinked in surprise when he saw Sidney before he snapped back as they left the inside of the house. Jumping slightly at the touch on his arm, Kellan faked a smile. " Y-Yeah. I'm fine. But, uhm, thanks for complimenting my looks." He offered a small, real smile. "Y-you look good, too, by the way." When she motioned to sit down, he did so and sighed lightly, expression turning sad as he played with the ripped frays of the hole in his jeans' left leg. "I-it's nothing. Just something silly. Nothing for you to worry about." He managed to block the sadness out of his expression and fake a smile at Syd.

Sidney nodded quietly, not wanting to press the matter. Instead, she offered up a quick "You sure?" and place a hand instead on his knee. She hesitated when he complimented her at first, wondering if he really did just say that she looked good, too. Maybe she was just imagining this perfect moment? Either way, she wanted to make sure that he was okay to go out in front of a big crowd, especially when he'd looked so distraught just moments ago. Although the sadness had washed from his eyes, she wasn't sure if he was just trying to put up an act to help them both forget about it. "We don't have to go to the party if you don't want to," she stated bluntly. "I don't really care what we do. This house is practically on the beach, so if you just wanted to chill on the sand for awhile, I'd be okay with that, too." Whether he was still upset about the same thing or not, she hoped that she wasn't forcing anything too hard about tonight. She did practically drag him to go to the party, but it wasn't something she was too interested in going to anymore if she had to go alone. She didn't trust anyone at the school yet besides Kellan.

Sidney was a bit taken back at his response, but decided to ignore it. She'd packed her swimsuit in her bag, so if anything she'd just chill by the pool and try to have some fun. She turned away from Kellan and got up to walk to the car, feeling slightly confused at the wall he'd now built up between them. Wasn't this the same guy who had sung to her and openly expressed his love for music?
As she found her way to the door, she didn't even bother waiting for him to open it for her. As she hopped in, she sighed and rolled down her window to let some air into the car. As she propped her elbow up onto the edge of the window, she lost herself in a train of thought: since she didn't really belong anywhere in the many groups of cliques, who would she sit with at lunch? How was she going to know who was trustworthy or not? If Kellan hadn't ran into her this morning, what would she be doing now?
Turning to Kellan, she allowed her small bit of anger to subside. "So what can I expect at this party?" she asked, pushing a small smile from her lips. Under the pressure of it all, she was still kind of excited to attend an event with a lot of people. She was a very outgoing and friendly person when it came to making friends. It was the guys who made her nervous.
