{We have so many RPs now ahhhh I feel like I should have made Lani a Floater rather than a Normal with her personality lol} Lani rolled her eyes a bit. "I wear make-up because I like it. It's just an added bonus that I look good with it on." It might sound a little conceited, but she had spent much too long trying to be someone she wasn't in the past. She had tried to be unique by not wearing make-up and condemning anything considered girly. She had gotten tired of it. She was still bad at not being who she was, but she was getting better. She was still bad at being expressive and she was bad at showing that she did care about people, but she was trying. She had learned to let herself like certain things, like new clothes and different genres of music. She still tried a bit too hard to get people to like her and she was still too quiet for her liking, but she was getting there. "Rap cool with you?" she asked, waving her phone a bit. "I got a wide variety which basically amounts to 'whatever sounds good.' I don't know what music sets people in the 'party mood' or whatever. My friends listen to pop rock, musicals, and indie usually." Mick shrugged, choosing to skip over another part of their conversation- makeup- that he wasn't too comfortable getting into. Until the actual moment that he had been magically turned into a girl and had all the same hormones as they did, he would never understand it. Then again, even though Mick was a guy, he still had his own insecurities that he didn't want to go around parading on about, so he respected her honesty. In response to her question about the type of music she should play, he replied, "Sure, but it doesn't matter too much at this point. We're here." He gave her a smile that told her she had no idea what she was about to witness and turned off his car before opening his door and hopping out. He waited for Lani to hop out as well before walking up to the Kellis mansion to open the already unlocked door.
Music blasted from all the areas inside the house thanks to Sorren's surround speaker system that paged throughout each room due to his family's use of maids and butlers. The place was already trashed with red solo cups scattered along the floor and people passed out drunk along the grand staircase, but Mick chose to ignore it. What he did notice, however.. was the lack of clothing on all of the guy's upper area, where they should have been wearing shirts.
"Heyyy, Mickeyyy! Thought you weren't gonna showupp," Sorren called, stumbling over to the front door. After putting up what he thought was a good impersonation of a drunk kid at a party, he stood up straight and laughed. "I'm just teasing. You know I like to stay sober. Someone's gotta remember my parties." He looked at Mick's shirt like it was the ugliest thing he'd ever seen. "Dude, didn't you get the memo? He gestured toward his own bare chest and stomach, poking one of his ab muscles as he did so.
Mick frowned suspiciously, raising a pointed brow toward Sorren's weird gesture. "No.."
"It's guy's night, Mick! No shirts inside this household. Leave them at the door and get yourself a free spot at the keg stand." Up until this point Sorren had completely ignored Lani's presence, finally looking her over and shrugging. "You look hot, kiddo. Consider yourself granted the permission to enter." He backed away from the door to salute Mick as he allowed a pair of twins he'd never seen, let alone talked to, ever before in his life lead him to the dining room area, where a game of beer pong had begun.
Mick sighed and shook his head, laughing nervously. "Wow, an almost-run-in with your brother and now you get to see me shirtless?" This night has progressed a lot further than I had hoped it would." He gave her a friendly smirk and removed his shirt in one swift motion before offering out his hand to allow her through the door after him. "Welcome to the Kellis residence, where anything you believe you haven't seen before at a high school party is, well.. here." While he refused to move toward the keg stand, he knew that the overwhelming smell of beer wouldn't leave the mansion any time soon, and he had a slight alcohol problem when Sorren was in the same room.

{yes, I believe this is the wonderful start to a beautiful forum friendship c,: ahaha Kellan ily so much, Kiddo. Perfect image of the poor kid falling off his lil stool is stuck in my imagination cx } Sidney attempted to stifle a laugh as she watched him struggle with his drum sticks, but then rolled her eyes for about the millionth time today, not surprised that he had even more attractive talents. "Of course you do. What else do you like to do, hmm? Dirt biking? Chasing bears out of their caves?" She laughed at the last one, as ridiculous as it had sounded. Her face grew into a gentle yet serious expression, her eyes clouded with fear. "Please tell me that last part isn't true. I can only handle a triple-threat before it all just becomes too much for me." She smiled jokingly as she stepped toward a nearby guitar and picked it up off of its stand. She was only musically talented with a ukulele and a piano, but nothing too serious where she played anything in her spare time outside of her lessons as a kid.
She walked over to Kellan and handed him the guitar. "Can you play me a song, like maybe something more slow?" She chuckled. "Don't get me wrong, I love Jessie's Girl as much as the next, but I want to hear something that tells people.. This is me, and this is the type of music I feel in my heart." She was a sucker for a guy with a good voice, but didn't want this to be about showing off each other's secret talents. If they were going to be friends, she wanted to be able to see the things that he felt while he did the things he loved. There was always something poetic- calming, even- about the way people seemed to be happier in their own environment. While she didn't like to step out of her comfort zone too often, she was definitely pushing herself to talk like a normal person around a guy like Kellan. Normally she would have already fallen apart into a mess of stuttering and ridiculous thoughts she would say out loud.. oh, wait. She'd already done that. Wait, then why was he not running away from her by now? She blushed at the possibility that he might enjoy her company. Though judging by the way she'd frightened him after his song, she may have caught him at a pretty private moment. "That is, uh, if you want to. You don't have to if it's too much of a personal thing."

Somehow, Blaze ended up with Caspian as a teammate. he was surprised, as he barely knew the kid, but had a weird feeling of comfort when around him. River smiled back. Caspian didn't really know very many people, least of which the folks on his team. He gravitated towards Blaze though, recognizing him as a guy his sister had been talking to.

Blaze realized he seemed to be gravitated to by Caspian, which he was used to as he was basically a wall.

{I feel like I should make Erika in this RP so we have someone to rein in Sorren lol}
Lani was pretty surprised by the mansion, but she didn't let it show much. She raised an eyebrow, but she wasn't comfortable enough to actually show any emotion towards the situation. If she wanted, she could outwardly show that she wasn't exactly okay with the party, but she knew it wouldn't get her anywhere. So, she opted for her automatic response of completely wiping any emotion from her face. It was her best option. She barely even blinked at the sight of a bunch of shirtless boys. She had pretty much become desensitized from it all due to having an older brother with quite a few friends. She had grown up with his antics, and even if her face felt a little hot, it was because of the party and the embarrassment that came from even being there.
She looked around a bit and bit back a bit of a sigh. She wanted to stick to the walls and maintain mostly invisible, but she refused to show weakness. The most she did was grip one wrist with her hand, somewhat digging her nails into her skin. It didn't hurt at all, but it was somewhat grounding. She chose to ignore the fact that she had been called both 'hot' and 'kiddo' in the same sentence. It did no good for her. She hoped she would never, ever have to deal with this again. She would definitely be a lot more stubborn next time, and she sort of cursed her curiosity for making her give in so easily. Wanting to see what it was like had really been a majority of the reason for her saying yes, along with wanting to see what the general reaction to her would be, if there even was one.
"This whole place is a literal high school cliche," she said bluntly as she, with some reluctance, let him lead her inside. She had known the school was a cliche, but this was her first--and hopefully only--time that she actually was able to witness the full extent of it. She would probably end up leaving before her hour was up if this was what it was like. The music was already getting too much for her. She wasn't great with loud noises, and she was even worse with anything overwhelming. She was sure this could possibly be the worse night of her life. It was already getting worse than her cousin's wedding night a few years back, which had been a pretty bad experience for her.

{Lowkey I think it would be hilarious to have Sorren be acting like his usual arrogant self and then Erika appears out of nowhere and just drags him off and everybody's just like "who was that and what just happened"
Haha, good luck with all of that. You're totally going to be exhausted tomorrow}

I don't know if I can continue this roleplay, as my hands are very tired and I'm kind of trying to expand my horizons with rping a bit...I want something a bit more plot centered, that way I will be able to focus on it more without forgetting about it and ending up poofed for multiple weeks. It was already getting worse than her cousin's wedding night a few years back, which had been a pretty bad experience for her. {I can start making my replies a little bit shorter if it makes it easier to respond to all the threads cx } Mick rolled his eyes but gave her an amused smile. "It's definitely not for everyone," he said with a slight chuckle. After allowing her to enter through the doorway after him, he stood by her side and took in the scene around him. Girls, shirtless boys, loud music, and beer. Lots of beer. He was kind of glad that she wasn't into this kind of setting because then they'd hopefully be able to dip out a bit earlier and relax for a little bit. While he was definitely tempted to join some of his friends at the keg stand, he decided to remain punctual for the sake of his new acquaintance. He patted her on the shoulder comfortingly, adding, "I'll go get us some beer, and then we can probably find a place around her where the music isn't so loud."
Without waiting to see if she'd object to the idea, he went and grabbed two beers from the table, choosing to ignore the envious stares that a nearby group of girls had given him. Was the sight of getting two beers really that big of a deal? Oh. They knew he'd come with someone else.
He exited out of the kitchen and back to the front entryway, where he handed her a beer and ushered her toward the back of the house, where his in-ground pool had yet to hold very many people. The music was a little bit less distracting, and other than a few girls surrounding a guy in the hot tub by the back porch, they were alone to talk about whatever they'd like. Heck, they didn't even have to talk. He was just happy to get away from the noise and unappreciated stares.
He picked out a spot by the pool and took his shoes off before rolling his jeans up and sitting by the poolside with his feet in the water. Looking up at Lani, he patted to a spot next to him and held up his beer. "Keep me company?"

{Lol you don't have to do that. I haven't made Erika's form yet anyway}
Lani glanced around some, but decided it was better if she just tried to ignore everything. She almost wanted to protest when Mick went to get the beer, but she didn't want to seem that lame. Instead, she made an effort to seem as unapproachable as possible without looking weird while waiting, which mostly just amounted to her keeping a straight face and looking bored. She didn't like being surrounded by people and she hated the music and this really wasn't how she thought her night was going to play out. It was definitely not something she would be finding herself doing again any time soon.
She relaxed a small bit when he returned and no one had actually approached her. She wouldn't have known what to do if someone had ended up trying to talk to her, but luckily, it seemed like everybody was too preoccupied with each other. It wasn't too surprising since it seemed that everybody knew each other anyway, or at least they were getting to know each other in ways she really didn't want to think about. She wasn't about to drink though, even as she saw that he had gotten two beers.
She followed Mick, feeling comforted as the music died down a little. She wasn't suffocating surrounded by a bunch of people and stuffy air anymore, so it was already much better. She easily ignored the girls and the guy nearby, dismissing them as small, unimportant annoyances. She sat next to Mick, not yet dipping her feet in the water like him. "I hope you don't actually expect me to drink," she told him, somehow not sounding as timid as she felt. "I'll be leaving in an hour anyway."

He let out a breath and started playing Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. "Well, I fell in love with music because of the emotion songs displayed. There's a couple of songs that show this. The first one is called "Your Guardian Angel" in case you didn't know." After his intro, he started singing the song, and it was obvious he was singing about someone. Instead of a significant other, though, he was singing about his sisters. Mostly his little sister since he could protect her more than his older sister who was now in college. After the song, he looked down at his chord hand and started playing a little melody to merge into the next slower song, but he didn't start singing or anything like that.

"I hope you don't actually expect me to drink," she told him, somehow not sounding as timid as she felt. "I'll be leaving in an hour anyway." {oml this reminds me of our 1x1 and I just ;-; }
Mick raised an eyebrow toward Lani as she sat down next to him but refused to take the beer. He then shrugged and placed hers down on the other side of him where no one was sitting and took a sip out of his own. The beer wasn't anywhere near as cold and good as the ones in his dad's cellar back at home, but it was good enough to take the edge off of his anxiety. He didn't intend to get anywhere near drunk, as he was his own ride home, but he knew that his confidence was no match for the amount of stress piling up as the days went by. There was just always so much pressure... maybe this wasn't the right scene for either of them. If Mick stood around the amount of alcohol that was available to him much longer, he would give in to his guilty urges.
He wasn't shocked about her last statement about going home so soon. He didn't want to be here for too much longer either. If he couldn't tell it by her face, her tone was a dead giveaway to the fact that she hated everything about this party. He couldn't help but wonder if he was part of the problem- other than being the one to drive her here- but pushed the thought away quickly as he turned his head sideways to face her. "How about we just talk about stuff other than school-related cliches and the stupid actions of kids who can't even figure out that their status at this party means nothing come the day after. Everything may be similar to the week before, but I plan on mixing it up a bit. Yanno, like a curve ball or a plot twist, call it how you must." He paused for a bit of a dramatic effect, although the next part of his statement wasn't as climactic as he had made it out to be. "I have this burning question that's just been eating me up inside, and I've just been meaning to ask you.." His face grew very serious for a moment before asking, "What's your favorite color?" His stern expression gave way to a stifled laugh as he felt his lips widen into a smile. "I mean, if it's too personal of a question, you don't have to answer. Normally I wait until the second or third day of knowing someone to tell them mine." He was obviously trying to find a bit of humor in their unlikely situation, but who knows if she'd even give him much more than an eye roll.

{I think a new thread would be cool, unless you wanted to make this into more of a smaller group rp. I can see if I can bring an old forum friend into this thread as well to help out with getting it all started c: }
Sidney closed her eyes gently as he played, and smiled softly as he explained his reason for playing this certain song. When it finished, she found herself slightly closer to him than when she had closed her eyes, but didn't care too much about moving away. Instead, she allowed his calm strumming of the guitar to lull her in sync with the next tune as she swayed ever so slightly with the time signature's tempo. She stared cutely into his eyes while saying in a quiet tone. "That was.. beautiful." She paused to think of how she would say the next part of what she was thinking without mentioning the fact that she now totally had an instant crush on him. "You really do have a knack for making others feel what you do when you sing like that. It's so.. genuine." Her smile widened slightly. "I like it." She wanted more than anything to sit and listen to him play more notes and an infinite amount of songs, but she knew that she'd probably have to give him some more time to himself. After all, she wasn't an expected visitor in the first place. "I should go soon. I mean.. th-that is if you want me to. Do you want me to go?" She silently pleaded to her lord and savior Jesus Christ and the essence of her beloved Britney Spears that this boy would want her to stay, but she knew that this all just had to be a fantasy she was dreaming up.
