Lux thought of making a witty comment, but he was too tired. Instead, he told William, "You can go back inside. I'll make sure they know about the log." Unfortunately, someone had to do it, and he was in better condition, and he figured William might want to go see the nurse. He took a left, heading towards the office for and the skiers; luckily, it was at the bottom of the slopes.

Will was going to say that he could do it, but Lux was already walking away. Sighing, he walked into the main building, grateful for the heat. He slumped down onto a chair and took a moment to appreciate the fact he was able to sit down. He realized that he really should go to the nurse, but sitting like this sounded so much better at the moment.

Lux waited inside the pseudo-cabin building until he could talk with an employee, then the manager. He explained the fallen log on the slope, though he made up the part where he was able to stop himself before hitting it. He still showed them his broken skis, claiming that he'd broken them while trying to slow down fast enough. They reluctantly replaced said skis (with some skepticism) and the manager sent some employees out to remove the log.
Satisfied that it had been taken care of and that they had believed his story (maybe it would have been true if William hadn't been there,) he headed back to the dorms. He had a passing thought of checking the nurse's office to see if William was there yet and/or doing better, but then he remembered that he didn't care. If William got some medical care, good for him, but it was really Lux's responsibility, right?

Will finally dragged himself to his feet and walked out of the building. He took the bus that would take him back to the school. His clothes were damp from the snow and all he wanted was a shower and to sleep. Pulling his phone out of his pocket with his good hand he texted Drew to let him know he was fed up with the cold and was heading back. Drew was out with Brooke though and Will didn't expect a reply.

course! I'll set it like a week in so they actually have done some real work in class }}
Calculus. Fun. Well, having it with both his best friend and his nemisis, he could actually say it was fun in a non-sarcastic way. However, he didn't appreciate the homework. He had only just finished the homework due today in the nick of time. It was exhausting, really, and it was only, what, the fourth day of class or something?

Thanks!)
Will sat in this class as well. He had thankfully finished the homework the day before. If he didn't finish it the day he got it, or sometime close, he would never finish it. He simply lost interest in it. After the skiing incident he was left with an injured wrist and had to wear a cast on it for the month. Great way to start they year. The cut on his cheek had scabbed over as well. But today was about math. There were a couple questions that he had left off to refresh the math and he was doing them now. The papers would be handed in as soon as the teacher got up to collect them.

Of course, when Lux saw his "very good friend" scribbling down answers for the homework right beside him, "refreshing the math" was not how he saw it. He decided to make a comment, if only to distract William so he couldn't finish before the teacher collected it.
He leaned over. "Forgot to do that bit back at the dorm? You know, purpose of classwork work is to do it in class, and the point of homework is to... not. Maybe next time you should actually be a good student, like me," he commented snarkily. His homework had actually been finished half an hour ago in a rush, so he shouldn't be talking.

"Oh please. This stuff is easy. I did the rest of it the day we got it." he rolled his eyes and glared at him "The only reason I didn't do this is because I don't want to forget any steps and make a stupid mistake." he glanced at the others paper and said "If anything yours looks like it was done in a hurry. I at least do mine in a timely manner." this was usually true. Granted his still had some but...

"Likely story," he interjected, rolling his eyes. Actually, he believed it, but he didn't let that on. He glanced at his own work; it did look a little rushed, but that could've just been how he wrote. Still, he decided to pass it off as being a very diligent worker instead of admitting he'd done most of the work the class before. "It's only rushed because I wanted to finish the rest of the assignments for this week in one sitting. You know, they're all posted online, and it gives me more time to ski." Now if William asked to see said work... well, he didn't exactly have any of it, but he was hoping his bluff would pay off.

"You're only just finishing it now? I've had that work done for a while now. You need to get your school life together if you plan on getting elected." Will didn't know it, but he was in the same spot as Lux. He had also neglected his school work for the week. The assignments would be done before they were due, but not this early. Losing to Lux was not an option though and he would bluff all he needed to.

Lux chuckled. "Sure. You know, it's alright to just admit you're not as brilliant as me sometimes. Besides, lying won't make you a very popular candidate for student prez," he jeered. There was no way he'd actually done all the homework already, right? Even Lux had just been joking⦠then again⦠maybe he had done it. No, no that was like⦠impossible. Even thinking of doing so much work so early made Lux's head hurt.

The way Lux talked made Will think he had done his homework. Like, he had actually done the homework for the entire week. Who actually went all out like that? "Lying? Ha. I should be saying that to you. Truth is one of my top priorities." his head titled slightly and he leaned back in his chair.

Oh, he was a good actor. Actually too good, as a fact. Like, good enough that he wasn't actually lying. It might have been Lux's own nervousness about lying about the homework, but he actually began to believe that William had done it. And even if he hadn't, could Lux take that risk? Say he did show up with proof this homework, Lux would be empty-handed. It would be embarrassing, and William could label him as a liar. "Please. Lying won't make you better at Calculus."

Will wanted to scowl, but kept a calm mask on his face "As if I need any help getting better at calculus. I'm already at the top of the class. You should really get together. Maybe if you did your homework you could be half as good as I am." Perhaps keeping up this charade was a bad idea. He would actually have to get the work done to prove that he had not been lying.

"Who says you're top of the class? We don't even have grades in yet," he scoffed. "Secondly, I did do my homework. I'm just a bit more relunctant to brag about it than you are, apparently," he scoffed, "because I lied about doing only this week's." He rolled his eyes in distaste for added effect. He had decided to push it further. William wasn't backing down, and he wasn't going to either. Hopefully the teacher would start talking soonβ¦

"I should hope so. If I was the only on doing beyond this week I would feel as if I had no competition." oh dear, another lie that would make him regret the moment he opened his mouth "I had been planning to keep quiet about it, didn't want you to think too poorly of yourself." they had drawn the attention of a few others, all that looking incredibly stunned.

*leaves for a week* oops }}
Lux shook his head. "Seems likeβ" He was cut off by the teacher, and he was all too eager to not have to finish his sentence. If that had continued he'd soon be saying he'd finished the year's homework already and had started on the homework for whatever university he'd be going to. He gave William a little glare before devoting his attention back to the teacher, who was starting to collect the homework.

Great! Thanks for understanding!!)
Will gripped his pencil and tried to keep a straight face as he handed his homework forwards. This had turned into quite the predicament. Lux was incredibly dedicated and Will had slowly but surely dug himself into a hold that he would not be able to get out of without coming clean. It seems that he would be doing a fair amount of work to make this lie a reality.

You know, maybe this would all help him in the end. Fromtloading all his homework would at the very least give him more time to ski, right? At least, after the ski season was over⦠However, maybe after he brought in all the rushed homework he would prove William wrong and the rest of the year would be a breeze, right?

All thoughts of hope were effectively killed once Will looked at the work. True to his words, a lot of teachers posted work online for the year. But as he looked over it his horror began to grow. There was a lot more of it than he thought. It made sense. These teachers were newer, and while they were all highly skilled they hadn't had the years to shave away unneeded work. "Brilliant." he growled, rubbing his temple with a hand.
