Will gritted his teeth and did as he was told. As much as it hurt his pride. Next thing he knew they were both in the air. It seemed like they were flying, but only for a moment as in the next they were tumbling to the ground. Rocks dug into his skin through his ski clothing and slit open one of his cheek. There was a jarring pain in his wrist as well. Worse than all that, a ton of snow found its way into his coat. Pain, he could take. But snow. Snow was the last straw. Skiing had been a terrible idea.

β³ Lux closed his eyes, clamping his mouth shut he wouldn't break his jaw or bite his tongue or something. He was flying, suddenly (from hitting the log, which had not been much fun either) and then he was rolling in the snow. Ugh... He was terribly dizzy at first and didn't dare opening his eyes. It was now that he really wished his skis had popped off before the impact. They hadn't. They were mangled, and his ankles ached. They were probably only sprained, which was good, but still very painful. His side also hurt, which was a joy, but he knew it was probably only bruised a little bit.
"William?" he called. He was really, really hoping William wasn't seriously injured or anything. If he was... well, he might as well have to see if his phone wasn't broken and try calling someone with the terrible service on the mountain, which probably wouldn't work. They had an on-site paramedic... right? "Can you stand?"

Will groaned and dragged himself to a sitting position "I'm... i'm fine. What about you?" he shivered violently and scowled at the area around them. It wasn't like he could take his rage out on the snow, no matter how much he wanted to. He also considered snapping at Lux, the vampire having cause this problem in the first place. But that would also lead to nothing. No, he had to keep a level head and focus on the situation in front of them. Not what had led to it.
Pushing himself to a standing position he tested his legs. They were more or less fine. There would be a nasty bruise on the hip and shoulder that had taken the brunt of the fall but he was fine. A blazing spear of pain went through his wrist as he tried to move it. Cradling the limb against his body he turned to see if Lux was able to stand. The blood on his cheek was already being dried, or more accurately frozen.

β³ "Just breezy," Lux muttered. He gritted his teeth, rolling onto his and then pushing himself into a sitting position but keeping his eyes closed. He was still a little dizzy; he didn't think opening them would help, anyway. He tested the theory by letting one eye flutter open, adjust to the light, then the other. It wasn't as bright as he'd imagined it would be. William seemed to already be up.
He pulled his skiis off carefully. It was going to be oh so much fun walking down the slope. He wasn't going to try skiing down; it probably got "harder" (aka more deadly) and he didn't want to risk it. He didn't want to walk, either... Maybe he could strike a deal with William. "I'll carry you down," he told the other, throwing some snow with his gloved hand. "I'm sure it's pretty far." "But... I'll have to drink your blood first..." How was he going to phrase that?

"I don't need you to carry me down? I'm not so injured that I would accept your help." he muttered, crossing his arms, wincing, then going back to cradling his wrist to his side "You sure you didn't hit your head or something? I wouldn't expect an offer like that from you." Will looked him up and down. There was no way he made it out of the unharmed. "You must be hurt, how did you expect to carry yourself, and me down hmm?" it wasn't logical.
The best they could hope for was a connection, or maybe another skier going down. Of course walking was always an option... but neither of them were really in any position to be walking too far.

ⳠLux frowned. He thought it was a pretty good offer⦠"Ok. Walk all the way down yourself. No one else is coming down this trail, and there's barely any service at the school, let alone here. None of the employees will check the slopes until closing time, which is hours from now," he retorted more forcefully. He stood up slowly, balling his hands into fists to try and ignore how much it hurt. Theoretically, he could walk all the way down the slope like this. He might have to stop and rest his feet a billion times, but the point was, it was possible. He doubted he could make William carry him, or that with injuries of his own, the human would be able to carry him much further than he could walk on his own.

Will noticed the others stiff movements. He raised an eyebrow and took a hesitant step towards him "Where are you hurt? And don't tell me that you're not. No one could have gotten out of that without getting injured." he may be cold to Lux, but there was no way he was going to leave him on the snowy hill. As much as it hurt his pride to admit, he had caused some of this problem. Even though Lux was the root of it.

β³ Was that concern? How considerate of William, though he probably should have just started walking already. Lux was stubborn; he had an idea, and seeing as it would be an easy solution (for him) to a lot of the pain he was in, he was probably going to stick with it. He took a step forward, about to stay he was just fine, then his ankle wobbled and he fell again. He rolled onto his back, pouting. How was he going to convince William he could take them both down the mountain?

Will sighed and crouched by him "... What was that plan of yours?" he finally asked. He might as well humor Lux and figure out what he was thinking. Will didn't see any easy solution other than walking. Of course there were ways, but they all required more work than actually walking down the mountain. If he suggested they make a sleigh Will would walk away right then and there.

ⳠLux chuckled. "I don't think you'll like it very much," he replied. He pushed himself into a sitting position again. He figured William would thank him later for this. After all, it was going to be a long walk down, right? "Just consider though⦠you give me some blood, I'll be all healed, and you won't have to walk all that way."

Will blinked, not sure what to say to that "I may be wrong, just kidding i'm always right. But the rules stated that you aren't allowed to give your blood to vampires." he hesitated "Though I would like to get out of here. And what they know won't hurt them." it was an appealing idea. He could let Lux have some of his blood and they would both be in walking condition. But there must be a reason the vampires were not allowed to drink human blood. Will figured it was to slowly get them less accustomed to it so the humans would feel safer.
It made no sense to be completely honest. It didn't really bother Will all that much, though considering how other people reacted to the smallest things he could see their logic in the decision.

ⳠLux frowned. What a stupid rule. A human should know not to give their blood to a vampire⦠If they didn't, well, then the school shouldn't see fit to have to tell them anyway. He doubted the rule would be changed, and William had a point. The school wouldn't really know it'd happened unless either of them said something, and Lux sure wasn't planning to. "I'll take that as a yes," he replied. He leaned forward, then hesitated. It was too obvious on the neck (and it was more awkward.) "Pull up your sleeve," he instructed.

"But it's cold." Will muttered. He did as he was told though and pulled back his sleeve. This was kind of awkward, no matter where he was going with it. The experience was something he'd probably end up not wanting to repeat. Will just hoped that human blood wasn't like drugs, or a good tv show. Hopefully Lux wouldn't want more of it later.

β³ Lux rolled his eyes at the complaint before he bit down. It was not for long. He didn't want to take too much, and considering how fast they could drink, he only needed a few seconds to take around a pint of blood, as much as someone might donate to a blood drive. He let go promptly. "All better," he chimed. Now his ankles would heal much quicker. In fact, the pain was disappearing only moments afterwards.

Pulling his arm back Will frowned. There were two holes that would most certainly scab over and maybe even leave marks. He would have to wear long sleeves to keep it hidden. "Great." he stood "Let's get out of here." he wanted to add 'It's freezing.' but it sounded too much like a complaint. If he was planning on getting high ranks here, he needed to avoid complaining and come off stronger than that.

β³ As long as it was this cold outside, Lux figured that no one would see the bites under William's clothes. When it did start to warm up (though it wouldn't be much) the marks would have faded away already. He stood, glancing at William. "Sure you don't wanna piggy-back ride?" he asked mockingly. He would keep his side of the bargain, but he was guessing William didn't want that to happen; it might more than a little embarrassing for the human.

Will glared at him and turned his nose away "Oh please." as much as he would, there was no way his pride would take it now. Instead he started walking down the hill. The cut on his cheek ached, and any movement sent a flare of pain through his wrist. But other than that it was only scrapes and bruises, he would manage. (Sorry I wasn't on yesterday.)

β³ Lux chuckled, but he probably refused the offer too if he was in William's shoes. Lux followed down the hill, picking up the pace a little as he would rather get to the bottom sooner rather than later. "We should probably tell an employee about the log on the path. I don't think it's supposed to be there," he mentioned. "Otherwise they should rename the path 'certain death."

Will snorted "At least we can agree on that. I noticed the log was still relatively knew. Something must have knocked it down pretty recently." the log did not have any rotting wood, and the needles on it were still relatively green "Once we get back you can take care of that. I'm returning to my room where it is warm." he was still irritated over the fact that if he had never gone skiing this wouldn't have happened. Will knew it was better to stay in the warmth of the indoors. Never again would he be found wandering the slopes of their skiing grounds.

Lux shook his head. "Already calling it quits? With an attitude like that, I won't have any problem taking the student council president spot will I," he taunted. However, William had actually done really well for his first time skiing. Of course he didn't know how to slow down, but the intuitive parts like balance and such weren't things that some newbies managed on the first time, even on a beginners course, let alone a challenging one.

That's great XD Autocorrect is either your best friend, or worst enemy.)
"Keep telling yourself that. Skiing had nothing to do with becoming student council president." the snow crunched under his feet and he could now understand why you needed all the equipment. Even with his thick socks and snow boots he could still feel his toes starting to go cold "Skiing may not be my forte, but winning is." he glanced over his shoulder at Lux. It was curious that drinking blood really had healed him. How convenient. Will would have injures for the next week or so before they faded.

β³ It was convenient, at least for vampires. Fortunately, they were only allowed to drink human blood when they really needed to, like in an emergency, even though it tasted a lot better. It was easy for some to become "addicted" to human blood.
Luckily, taking one pint of blood was like drinking one beer. It just wasn't enough to get most addicted, barring the occasional few, and Lux wasn't one of them.
"You're sure they're not even a little correlated?" he replied jokingly. "Winning⦠skiing⦠both have 'ing'."

"So does swimming, studying, and running. All of which I can do." he had to roll his eyes again. His patience was wearing thin. The cold, pain, and noise was enough to drive him insane. Snapping now though would only make Lux think he had won. Keeping his cool, no pun intended, was the best move he could play. Ignoring the pain was one thing. The cold could be felt no matter how hard he tried to ignore it. "Put that energy you have to walking instead of talking. I would like to get down as soon as possible. If they don't get that log moved someone else could get hurt."

ⳠLux laughed. "Well if we hear an 'oof' from back there, then we know what happened," he joked. "And I didn't know you could run. Seems like a sport that would be too challenging for you," he added sarcastically. Running⦠Lux had to say that being good at running wasn't exactly a feat, unless William was a track champion or something.

"Not all humans are physically gifted. I may not be the fastest man alive, but I am one of the better runners." Will replied "You can joke all you like, but if someone did get hurt we would be to blame. Getting the information back to the workers is our first priority." he shivered and internally complained. They were almost there. The ending was a speck in the distance, but at least they could see it now. Their path would take them along the side of the main track and down to the bottom. There they could inform them about the log.

Lux shrugged. Of course William felt like he suddenly had to take responsibility for anyone else who decided to go down the slope. Lux, not so much. He was planning to tell the owner, but he was in no hurry, and he was just content mentioning and getting out of here. He wasn't shaken up, per say, but he'd had enough skiing for one day. Maybe he'd be back tomorrow if he didn't have piles of homework by that point. He had a feeling, at least in gym/health, he wouldn't. "Well, if you wanna get there so fast, why not run down?" he replied. There wasn't much more to go; he wouldn't mind jogging down himself.

Will of course, took this as a challenge "Why? Eager to get out of the cold? I wouldn't mind picking up the pace." his wrist would probably make him regret this decision, but the words had already been said. They wouldn't be running too fast considering it was snow, but jostling around would definitely flare up the injuries. "Let's get down then." he shrugged and broke into a slow jog.

Lux laughed. "Not particularly. I'm just eager to be done walking down this god-forsaken ski hill," he corrected. Will was ready to kill over by the time they reached the bottom. His cheeks were red with the cold and he could no longer feel his nose. His wrist ached with every movement and even though he had brushed off the blood from his cheek it still war sore and the injury was obviously there. Not to mention all the bruised on his back and shoulders. "Oh thank god." he sighed.
