Fawnpaw Fawnpaw fidgeted slightly. As much as she hated to admit it, she struggled with emotions when things got intense. She preferred when everyone was happy and getting along, it made her feel better about things. So to be there, unable to escape the clearly intense emotions, well, it was nearly overwhelming.
She did her best to push her nerves down and instead focus on hunting. Mothflutter and Stoatchase would join them soon, and until then, it was just her and Rainpaw now.
Fawnpaw glanced up at the older apprentice and cleared her throat. ”So um, about those trees,” she started quietly. ”What should we do first? I’m not as good at getting tree prey yet,” she admitted.

Cedarfrost, Cloudpaw - Camp - Thundersnap (𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 )Cedarfrost finally nodded slowly when Cloudpaw said that Puddleheart wouldn't go against the gods will. "No. I suppose he won't," he agreed. While he was doubtful of Puddleheart's capability he could at least not deny that he was meant to be here. Pomegranatefur had taken so long to accept an apprentice it was almost certain the gods told her who to pick. And as unsure as he was about Puddleheart, there was just no way that Pomegranatefur would have chosen someone the gods disapproved of. Cloudpaw seemed relieved at Cedarfrost conceding her point. At least he didn't have no faith at all in Puddleheart. But before she could decide whether or not to affirm her stance, although it wasn't necessary since Cedarfrost seemed appeased for the moment, something more important got her attention. She let out a delighted purr at her mentor's words. "I better not slack off, then," she meowed, smiling. "With how much you taught me it'd be an insult to us both if I wasted my training."Both Cloudpaw and Cedarfrost also looked once more over the camp to make sure that there really was no one who wanted to join them, then they meowed in agreement and followed Thundersnap put of camp. Once they had left the camp behind them Cloudpaw scented the air every not and then while Cedarfrost, who was padding behind her and Thundersnap, kept his gaze fixed ahead, though he was keeping an eye on his surroundings so that nothing would catch them by surprise. "Since we're already out here we may as well look for our tokens," he said after a while "Patrolling takes priority of course but if it isn't too big and won't hinder us we can still pick something up along the way if we already see something. And if not we can do so on our way back."

Sablefrost Camp | With Pantherprowl (Sand) Just as she was starting to question the whereabouts of her nephew, Pantherprowl appeared, boldly declaring that he would make a good leader. Sablefrost paused, tipping her head to the side as she looked him over. She had no doubt in her mind that when her was older, after he had trained an apprentice of his own and gained some much needed maturity, he would make a fine leader.
However that was not today.
Sablefrost sighed, her gaze traveling toward Laurelstar’s nest. ”You and half the apprentices in the Clan,” she commented and shook her head. ”There are reasons set in place why you have to be older, why you have to have trained at least one apprentice or even have one to compete. It shows you how to train and care for another cat, something not everyone knows at first,” Sablefrost explained and flicked her tail toward the group of apprentices chatting further away.
”One day we will need a new deputy, and when that comes, then all of you young cats can decide to compete,” Sablefrost told him, hoping her words would get through to him. ”Besides…” Sablefrost added, trailing off. ”I never said I wasn’t going to compete, I just…” she paused, her tail flicking behind her as she eyed the empty nest. ”I don’t have a token yet.”

Pearlfeather Pearlfeather purred in greeting when she heard the light footsteps of her friend and fellow entertainer approaching. Marigoldskip was always easy to find, even in a crowd when everyone’s smells mingled together. Marigoldskip continually walked with a bounce to her steps, light on her feet as if the wind gently carried her wherever she wanted to go.
”Hello Marigoldskip,” Pearlfeather greeted and patiently listened as her friend talked about the games. ”Yes, I am sure we will all have a lot to do by tonight,” she agreed in the usual soft, quiet way that she spoke and gently tipped her head to the side. ”I’m sure Goosefreckle will want to have a meeting amongst us entertainers before tonight.”
It usually fell upon the oldest entertainer to host meetings and figure out plans for festivals and things like that. As of right now, that right fell to Goosefreckle, even if he spent a good amount of time on the nursery with Sagekit as well.
”Who do you think will become leader?” Pearlfeather questioned lightly. ”There are a lot of good options within the Clan, I think the gods will have a hard time picking out of everyone.”

Thundersnap MyrtleClan Territory | With Cedarfrost & Cloudpaw (Pineclaw) Thundersnap sniffed the air as he took the lead and started to pad toward the nearest edge of MyrtleClan’s territory. They had a rather wide and expansive territory, with the cliffs, a large pond, some caves, and plenty of trees, but Thundersnap typically liked to start his patrols at the edge of the olive tree grove and work his way to the ocean before heading back.
When Cedarfrost suggested they spend this time to look for their tokens as well, Thundersnap nodded in approval. ”I agree. We’ll still be doing our jobs and protecting our territory, but I see no reason why we can’t look for a token as well,” he agreed and flicked his tail.
Besides, this idea worked out well for him. Thundersnap had found a token for himself already, stumbling across it while he was out a few nights ago, but he had left it exactly where he found it, knowing it was not yet time to pick it up. However, if he were to simply “stumble” across it again, while on patrol with cats to be his eye witnesses, it could work out well for him.
So with that in mind, Thundersnap changed course, starting to pad toward the ocean and cliffs instead. ”We should start our patrol near the cliffs,” he explained, glancing back at Cedarfrost and Cloudpaw. ”So we can check the horizon for any other storms sent by Okeaneos.”
Surely no one could object to that.

Heronflight - Camp (outside Elders' Den) - Honeydusk (𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 )"You're right, this falls on us for now," she agreed. Her gaze swept over the cats still in camp, mostly entertainers but some from the other groups as well. "They all seem to be going about their day like always but as normal as things look right now, they're just... not. The excitement for the games, the lack of both leader and deputy, I fully expect that those hopes and also those feelings of uncertainty and loss will affect how our clanmates will be acting." For a moment she smiled sadly but then she gave a determined nod. "So we better make sure that we don't decent into chaos. The clan still needs order and our clanmates need to know that while Laurelstar and Fignose are gone the clan is not without guidance." She sat up straighter and slowly got to her paws, taking a few steps away form the den behind her so she could get a better look at the clan. Mentors were talking to their apprentices or taking them out to train, warriors were talking and some apprentices were also flocking together. Heronflight smiled a little when she spotted Archsong and Goosefreckle and let out a light purr when she caught a glimpse of Sagekit. "Yes, we need to make sure the clan is well taken care of, especially for our youngest cats. In these hard times we need to give the apprentices and kits the feeling that this won't last so they can face the future with confidence."

Archsong chuckled softly at Sagekit's question, her tail flicking behind her as she stared down at him, her demeanor sorting. " Participate," she said, being sure she was slow at saying it so he could hear the pronunciation of the word so he could try again if he wanted to. She hadn't decided if she was, she would like to join and try her paw at winning the games. The she cat jumping at her mate's voice, her fur growing hit from embarrassment. Though the smile remained if not grew on her face. " I'll certainly try my best if i do join, can't let those hopes of yours not be achieved," she spoke, licking his cheek. While she wouldn't mind if she did become the leader, even just participating and showing off her skills would be good enough for her, sides maybe if she did well she might be considered by whoever does become leader as a deputy. " I will look forward to your poems regardless, they are always my favorite to hear be it one told for moons that got passed down or ones you come with, i always enjoy hearing you."

Brightpaw -Camp -> Outside of camp - Whimbrelstep (Sand )Brightpaw nodded eagerly as his mentor decided on today's task. He'd already got some experience with land prey and while he definitely wasn't ready to hunt rabbits on his own and squirrels were also very tough prey for now he had quickly gotten quite good with mice, shrews and voles, the latter being his favorite to hunt. And while Whimbrelstep had explained a bit about what to keep in mind when hunting birds fish hadn't been discussed yet. "You haven't," he confirmed, smiling at the prospect of trying something entirely new today. "This is gonna be very different from what I've learned so far, huh..." not wanting to get distracted by wondering what it would be like Brightpaw kept his focus on the first course of action: leaving camp and getting to where Whimbrelstep would show him how to catch fish. At her playful meow he let out a happy purr as they padded out of camp and his eyes lit up at the mention of Stoatchase and the possibility of being faster than him and his patrol, Stoatchase was one of the best hunters in the clan after all. And while Brightpaw was mostly focused on learning new things and improving every day even he couldn't say no to something like that, even if the only thing he'd get out of it were bragging rights or just a good feeling. "I better do my best to pick up on it quickly then," he mewed as he followed his mentor, half-joking but clearly intending to indeed do well on this new challenge.

Opalheart-camp-no one
Opal sat in camp watching her clanmates go out for patrol, wondering who would be a good candidate for the Myrtle clans` next leader. Mabye Thundersnap who Opalheart wasn't particularly fond of his ambitiousness, or Cedarfrost also has a chance Sablefrost would probably be excepted too. The games sure are gonna be interesting with so many talented warriors. As Opalheart heard Pikepaw and Rainpaw arguing again she snapped back to the morning in the camp.

Mintpaw tilted his head at his mentor's first words, it wasn't that many! Mintlaw tried to recall all of them...it was only like two..maybe three...or was it four? Shaking out his head his eyes lit up with excitement as Darkwhisper had no problems answering them. At his mentor's nod Mintpaw sat down, wrapping his leaf adorned tail around his paws, looking up at the older tom as he continued. Tilting his head he blinked, the games already? He had always heard stories about them but now he was going to get to witness it! He knew entertainers couldn't participate from what he was told but the idea of his mother entering came next to his mind, Whimbrelstep would make an amazing leader! " It does!! Ill make sure it's the bestest possible!" The young tom lepaing to his paws, practically bouncing once more on them as he looked to Darkwhisper. " When do we get started? Or are we waiting for Goosefreckle to give further instructions? Surely its fine if we ger a jumpstart right? It could help leviate pressure on him!"

Orchidbloom • Camp • with Torrentwing (Sand )
Although the flood has long since subsided, Orchidbloom’s mind was a violent storm. Repetitive nightmares had plagued their slumber, each culminating in the deaths of Laurelstar, Fignose, and the hairless body of Porthmeíos carrying away their souls. My dear sister and apprentice...
The waking days were spent with the elder grieving in their nest, only coming out to choose their picking from the prey pile. The tortoiseshell heard the mingling and musings of MyrtleClan, and how, by tradition, a series of competitions would be held to determine a new era of leadership. Orchidbloom didn't care much on who was joining, or even who won. None of them could surpass Laurelstar's benevolent reign.
A familiar voice snapped the tom out of their trance. Outside the den stood Torrentwing, their former scoutmate. Orchidbloom’s head lifted and their posture relaxed. An achiness crept over his previously curled up joints as he gathered energy to approach the tabby tom. Emerging from the gloom of the cave, it became clear that Orchidbloom's pelt was dull and ruffled, and his eyes had a wild look to them. The elder tried to keep his gaze level, even though it was slowly drifting off to Laurelstar's empty nest.

Pantherprowl camp — accompanied by: Sablefrost he/him - hunter Pantherprowl was, unsurprisingly, bothered by Sablefrost's explanation. It made sense to him, he simply didn't want to accept it. The young cats should be leading the clan, not the old felines! A new, fresh perspective in MyrtleClan sounded better than letting an experienced feline run the clan. Deep down, Pantherprowl knew his immaturity was clouding his beliefs. Who was to blame him?
He kept his green gaze focused on Sablefrost, choosing to listen to her for once. He wasn't the best listener and any cat knew that. His gaze quickly wandered off to the loud commotion from the group of apprentices nearby. "My former denmates do not qualify at all," he meowed with a roll of his eyes. "They're younger than me! What would they know?"
But once again, his aunt was right– a cat that knew what they were doing deserved the position more than an inexperienced one. "Yeah, yeah, I'll run when I'm old and experienced enough," he scoffed.
He let out a dramatic sigh before staring at Sablefrost in shock. She hadn't found a token yet? The black tom's eyes widened with curiosity. "Sablefrost! We need to find you a token now," Pantherprowl demanded without thinking. "Now, what do you think represents you and where can we find it? I truly hope you don't say a fish because I'm not carrying a stinky piece of prey back to camp as a token."

Whimbrelstep camp -> outside of camp — accompanied by: Brightpaw she/her - warrior Whimbrelstep was grateful for Brightpaw's quick confirmation. His memory was certainly better than hers at times, plus she felt a bit distracted today. She knew she needed to find a token for the race, but what would Whimbrelstep even pick? She'd have to worry about it later and put Brightpaw's training first. Maybe if she found something while by the stream with her apprentice, she could use it.
"Fishing is a different type of hunting. You have to be swift and react as fast as you can," the brown spotted tabby explained to Brightpaw. "I'm sure you will get the hang of it!"
As the two exited camp and began padding in the direction of the stream, Whimbrelstep noticed as Brightpaw's eyes lit up. It seemed that her plan to beat Stoatchase's patrol had worked unexpectedly. Even if the two did get back to camp with prey and her token before Stoatchase, the blue eyed feline would be pleased. If they didn't, at least she had taught the cream tabby something new. "You're a quick learner, Brightpaw, I don't doubt your skills for a second," she purred before continuing on. "Do you mind if I share something with you? I haven't told any cat about this yet and you're my apprentice. I thought that you might have an opinion about it." There was no harm in asking Brightpaw, right? Surely he was open-minded enough to give Whimbrelstep some hints.

Torrentwing camp — accompanied by: Orchidbloom he/him - elder Torrentwing spotted the familiar frame of Orchidbloom, whose head had lifted up. Did I wake him up? he wondered, padding towards his denmate. He knew the past few days had been beyond horrific for Orchidbloom– the tortoiseshell had lost his sister and former apprentice all at once. Torrentwing couldn't imagine the pain that could come with it. Noticing that the former scout had emerged from the den, he came to a stop.
"Oh, Orchidbloom. I didn't realize you were asleep, I'm sorry if I woke you up," the grey classic tabby meowed softly. "Do you want to share some prey or leave camp for a bit? We've got to do something to help you."
Torrentwing's gaze lingered on Orchidbloom briefly as he wonder what he could do to help his clanmate. He was willing to be by his denmate's side as long as Orchidbloom would like it.

Fawnpaw Fawnpaw fidgeted slightly. As much as she hated to admit it, she struggled with emotions when things got intense.
Fawnpaw served as a welcomed distraction from the shouting match with Pikepaw. It brought him back to reality. “Right, hunting,” he muttered half to himself, paws taking him to a nearby olive tree on their own. ”If we’re patient enough, a squirrel or bird will come down on its own to forage for seeds and berries. Sometimes though, you’ll have to chase it up a tree and if that happens, I’ll take care of it,” he mewed as he stared up at the trees above him. He was alright at climbing trees after prey, not as graceful as he should be, but well enough for him to pass any assessments he had over his time training. Fishing and swimming after prey is his true talent. Still, if it came to climbing trees for squirrels, it was best if Rainpaw did it. Fawnpaw doesn’t have as much experience as he does and wanted to avoid injuries as much as he could.

Honeydusk Honeydusk looked over the other elder carefully. Now that Pomegranatefur was gone, Heronflight was and oldest cat, and though Honeydusk was getting up there in moons herself, she still looked up to Heronflight. ”It would be easy to fall into chaos right now,” Honeydusk agreed. The Clan had never known a time without a leader and a deputy, at least, not as long as Honeydusk had been alive. ”But it is as our young medicine cat said. We have grieved and now we have to move forward.”
Even if Honeydusk was sure that would be easier for some than others. Laurelstar and Fignose’s death would hurt the whole clan, but especially those closest to them. Laurelstar had been a friend to Honeydusk, especially back when they were both fighters, they even competed against each other for deputy, back when Laurelstar was still a fighter, back when she was Laurelreef.
Honeydusk had lost to her, but Honeydusk never minded. Laurelstar had been the exact leader MyrtleClan needed.
With a sigh, Honeydusk pulled herself from her thoughts. ”We will need flowers and berries for the paint tonight,” she mused and looked around the camp. ”I could take some cats with me to stop by Synkomithea’s gardens.”

Sablefrost Camp | With Pantherprowl (Sand) Sablefrost flicked her ears in amusement as her nephew stated how little his old denmates knew, as if he had not been sharing a den with them only a moon ago. She chuffed softly and sent him a look. ”Clearly you know much more than they do,” she commented, a lighthearted tone lacing her words. ”But you are not even sixteen moons yet. If a cat is too young for courting, he is too young to lead,” she told him.
Her nephew still had a lot of growing to do, but Sablefrost liked to think Silhouettewing would be proud of him, and Sablefrost could tell that given time, Pantherprowl would go on to do wondrous things. He would make the Clan proud one day, she was sure of it.
She eyed him again though, when Pantherprowl mentioned finding a token for Sablefrost. She snorted and flicked him with her tail. ”It’s not going to be a fish, it’s supposed to represent me.” Sablefrost let out a small, teasing chuff. ”I hope this isn’t your way of telling me I smell bad,” she joked and got to her feet.
Sablefrost stretched her paws forward and glanced toward Flickerpaw and the other apprentices. She needed to focus on Flickerpaw’s training, but for today, she would let her apprentice have some fun. Besides, a scout’s job happened when Íliosikieos lowered the sun and Nýchthea reigned over the night. She could get some training in later.
”Well, come on then, Pantherprowl,” Sablefrost said, already padding toward the exit. ”You can help me find a token. I’m thinking maybe a rock…a dark rock, or a crow’s feather,” she mused, glancing behind her to look at her nephew. ”Anything other than a fish.”

Fawnpaw Fawnpaw nodded as she listened to Rainpaw. She had always liked Rainpaw, he was older than her but their time in the nursery had overlapped, and she knew that their fathers were friends. She always liked listening to Goosespeckle’s stories in the nursery, they were funny. However, Rainpaw didn’t have a bunch of siblings like Fawnpaw did, just a younger brother.
She couldn’t help but wonder if he ever got lonely. Fawnpaw didn’t know what that was like, having such a large family herself.
Giving her head a small shake to focus, Fawnpaw looked up at some of trees on the cliffs. ”Right, we gotta be patient and wait,” she agreed and sat down, staring up at the trees.
Patience and waiting….
Two things Fawnpaw was terrible at.
She started to fidget a little and looked around again. ”How close are we to the Lost Cave?” Fawnpaw asked curiously. ”And is it true that apprentices get lost when they go in there? Can we go in there? I bet we wouldn’t get lost.”

Pantherprowl leaving camp — accompanied by: Sablefrost he/him - hunter Pantherprowl rolled his eyes jokingly at Sablefrost's lighthearted comment. Even if he had shared a den with the bickering apprentices just a moon ago, he was more mature than them! He had plenty of maturing to do, considering he wasn't at the age to court another cat. "Fineee. You're right, Sablefrost. At least I'm a hunter now and they're still stuck in the apprentice's den!" he remarked with a sly smirk.
It was uncommon when Pantherprowl thought of his mother, Silhouettewing. He lost her when he was an apprentice and the fact she wasn't around anymore had become old news. He missed his mother dearly though what could he do? The Gods must have thought her time was up and left him with Sablefrost, an amazing aunt and surrogate mother. Life was tough, yes, but he was lucky to have Sablefrost– things could be much worse.
Hearing the black smoke she-cat's teasing comment made the black tom let out a loud scoff. "Sorry, but you do smell bad, just ask Cloverpounce," he teased with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
The young hunter stretched both of his limbs out before noticing Opalheart, another scout. He wanted to announce he was running for leader, but the joke was probably getting a bit old by now. Plus, it seemed obvious that she was speaking to Sablefrost, not him. "I wish I could," he commented to the brown tabby she-cat.
Without missing a step, he padded after Sablefrost as if he were a kit again. "Seriously? The first tokens you think of are a dark rock and a crow's feather? They're so basic and unfitting. A fish scale is a better option, don't you think?" Pantherprowl retorted playfully to her before giving her a rare sincere look. "I really think you should pick something else."

Sablefrost Sablefrost rolled her eyes, bumping her shoulder against Pantherprowl’s. ”Oh, I stink, do I? Well maybe we’ll have to stop by Ánoithea’s Meadow and roll around in the flowers for a bit, hm? Because if you think I stink, you should smell yourself,” she teased him playfully.
Sablefrost did pause though when Opalheart approached her and Pantherprowl. She hadn’t spent much time with the other scout, but she knew her well enough from sharing a den with her. So, Sablefrost nodded politely. ”Yeah, I guess I am entering,” she admitted and flicked her tail. ”Someone’s got to represent us scouts,” she added with a quiet laugh.
Sablefrost paused for a second, glancing down at her white paws before looking back at Opalheart. ”Pantherprowl and I are actually about to go look for a token, so we’ll see you tonight for the first trial. Maybe you’ll enter as well?” Sablefrost mused and figured that was probably a decent amount of polite conversation.
So, she turned to leave, walking back out of the camp with Pantherprowl in tow. She laughed a little when he brought up the fish scale. ”What is with you and fish today? Are you hungry? Is that it?” she questioned as she entered the olive grove outside the camp. ”I’m not using a fish scale, not unless it stands out somehow. You got any other suggestions in there or are they all related to fish?”

Acaciaberry Acaciaberry had been in camp, watching as everyone else wandered through camp, deciding whether or not they were going to compete. Acaciaberry had to admit that she had considered it as well, even if she knew that it meant very likely competing against her own family. Though, of course, she would have to find a token.
Then she spotted Opalheart talking to her fellow scout Sablefrost and the newest hunter in the clan. Acaciaberry hummed, quickly realizing the pair had plans of their own and weren’t keen to keep up conversation.
Acaciaberry got up, stretching as she padded over to join Opalheart. ”I admire you for trying to talk to those two,” she meowed, a soft, honey-like tone to her voice as she approached Opalheart. ”Sometimes I forget Sablefrost even exists with how little she interacts with the rest of us, and as for her sister’s son, well…” Acaciaberry giggled softly and flicked her long, plump tail over Opalheart’s nose as she circled the other she-cat. ”If only we could forget he existed, he thinks awfully highly of himself for someone so young.” Maybe in a few more moons he would mature, though some cats never fully matured.
Acaciaberry sat down in front of Opalheart and tipped her head to the side. ”So, what about you, my dear? Are you going to compete?”

RainpawWith Fawnpaw | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖
Rainpaw's tail flicked with anticipation as he stared up at the trees, watching for any signs of movement. Rainpaw had aways been a patient young tom, but training with Mothflutter had solidified that trait within him. It wasn't until the shadows of the trees grew slightly taller when Fawnpaw spoke up again, the waiting probably eating her up inside. He almost tuned it out, not out of rudeness, just far too focus on waiting for prey. Then the younger apprentice said something that peaked his interest enough to break his concentration. Something about the Lost Cave. It sounded as if she wanted to explore them, and Rainpaw had to admit, he was always curious... "It's... Not far from here. Maybe a few tree-lengths?"His gray paws tapped the ground in thought. He knew if he said 'no' to her, she and the rest of her friends and littermates would sneak off on their own... He should be the one to go with Fawnpaw just long enough to sate that curiosity. Then again, he wasn't one to break the rules... (Fawnpaw's putting thoughts into his head lol)

Pantherprowl leaving camp — accompanied by: Sablefrost he/him - hunter Pantherprowl let out a mrrow of amusement before bumping his shoulder against Sablefrost's. "At least I'd smell better than you! And I'd look presentable for the first trial," he countered wittily with a big grin.
As soon as his aunt paused to speak to Opalheart, he did the same. The black tom wanted to announce Sablefrost's candidacy yet she beat him to it. Thank the gods that she's finally admitting it, Pantherprowl thought as she continued speaking with Opalheart. He didn't know much about the brown tabby besides the fact that she was a scout, of course. To be fair, she was older than him and he didn't pay attention to the scouts except for his aunt. Still, he hoped the group would support her fully as he would do the same for Sablefrost. Whether Opalheart entered or not, his loyalty was to his surrogate mother. No questions asked.
Pantherprowl glanced at her, appearing offended and a bit shocked. "How dare you think I'm hungry! I'm perfectly fine, thank you very much," he joked before winking at her. "So you'd only use a fish scale if it were dark colored?"
The dark tom paused momentarily, trying to think of some token ideas for Sablefrost. He wasn't going to suggest a flower as he didn't think those represented her well enough. He was trying to think of something resilient, something kindhearted. "What about a shard of flint? Or a feather from a kind of bird? Not a crow though. You're way better than that." he suggested, giving a small shrug afterwards.

Opalheart ~ camp ~ Acaciaberry
"Well. It was worth a try." "I thought everyone's excitment for the games would put her in a cheery mood. Nope i'm honestly giving up on the fact she has more than one mood at all!"She giggled. Acaci's question about the games made her perk up. "Umm I haven't put much thought into it, but I don't think so. Im just gonna let the ambitious warriors get the role. What about you?"

Riverlily's ears perked when she heard raised voices near the camps exit, her cool blue eyes landing on the squabbling Paleflame and Thornfang. Her head tipped to the side curiously, averting her gaze but slowly sneaking closer to try and hear their conversation more clearly. If one could call it a conversation. It sounded more like a yelling match, at least on Thornfang's end. Her tail twitched with amusement, the seal pointed molly trying to hide the smile on her face.
After hearing the brown tabby fighter's last growl of frustration, Riverlily finally lifted her head to watch him hastily exit the camp and Paleflame saunter off. With curiosity getting the best of her, she stood and followed Thornfang shortly after he left.
She managed to catch his eye when he looked back, and offered a somewhat awkward smile. "Thornfang! Hi!" The molly greeted him with a cheerful tone, acting like she was surprised to catch him right outside the camp. "You headed somewhere? Mind if I joined you?" Riverlily asked, unsure if he was even in the mood for some company, let alone hers.

Fawnpaw Fawnpaw’s eyes lit up when Rainpaw mentioned it wasn’t far from there and she immediately swerved to try and find it. She had heard stories about the Lost Cave from when she was a kit, and one in particular would always stand out to her. She had snuck out of the nursery when she was supposed to be sleeping and Pearlfeather was regaling the clan with a mysterious story about the Lost Cave.
Fawnpaw could still remember the fire reflecting in Pearlfeather’s blind blue eyes as she spoke with such a reverence that it sent chills down Fawnpaw’s spine.
”Long ago, long before any of us were born, MyrtleClan faced the tyranny of a corrupt and devious cat who almost led the clan to ruin until the gods intervened.” Pearlfeather walked along the stage, pausing to let her words settle in. “They turned his form into a hideous, monstrous beast, for that was who he was on the inside and cast him into the deepest pits of the underworld where he could never escape.”
Fawnkit’s breath hitched in her throat as she imagined a terrifying monster falling into the abyss.
Pearlfeather continued. “Some say you can still hear his wailing from the depths of the Lost Cave, where any cat unfortunate enough to catch his eye will be dragged into the depth of the cave and eaten by him. The younger the cat, the better, as he claims they taste the most sweet.”
Fawnkit flinched at that, however, before she could say anything, Puddlepaw—who was only an apprentice at the time— spoke up. She had seen so little of the medicine cat apprentice that Fawnkit had almost forgotten what he looked like. Small, fluffy, bright-eyed and bushy tailed.
“What was his name?” Puddlepaw questioned curiously, tipping his head to the side as he looked up at Pearlfeather.
Pearlfeather smiled. “In life, he was known as Houndhusk, but now, in his truly monstrous form, he is called by something much, much darker.” Pearlfeather paused, letting the anticipation build. “Kinygólethros, otherwise known as Houndsbane, the wailing guardian of the underworld, forced to protect its entrance from any mortal who dares enter by punishment of the gods.”
After that, Fawnpaw had hurried back to the nursery in fear. However, she was older now, and no longer fears such stories.
”Rainpaw, Rainpaw, we should go to the Lost Cave!” Fawnpaw suggested eagerly, swishing her tail as she looked up at the older apprentice. ”Mothflutter and Stoatchase haven’t caught up yet, and it’s close by. We could check it out and get back before either of them find out!”

DustedBlack
Camp -|- With Parsleyleap (Ember34) It’s still a bit stormy. The air that slightly dewy that tells of the water that swept through the territory. The sky reflected in the ripples and dashing water now long gone.
DustedBlack couldn’t ever help the sharp breath that escapes him at times like these. Sure, he knows othercats have a tendency to think he’s a bit to quick to move on, keep on walking-
But it’s because of when things like this happen. The tom flicks his tail with slightly downturned ears, trying to keep himself lighthearted, if not for himself, then to at least keep some of the reeling clan mates of his.
He takes a glance around with milky blue eyes, spotting a familiar cat in the corner of his peripheral. He drags his paws from the dirt, easily ignorant of the pieces stuck in usually uncomfortable places he’s long since got used to. He’s been good at uncomfortable since he was an apprentice.
He chirps a greeting to Parsleyleap, keeping on his straight stride he was making prior to even noticing, simply turning the direction a bit. Have to keep the momentum.
DustedBlack should probably check up on them anyway.
Aspectpetal
Camp -|- With Stagshatter ( 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖) Aspectpetal had already taken to repairing even the most minor of damages around the perimeter of camp. Even going so far as to sweep through the outer edges on the lookout for any dangerous, or teetering structures that could be a hazard. It’s a welcome distraction. She needs it, she knows she does, or she’ll think to much of the water that feels like it’s still seeped into her fur.So the molly keeps her attention on the sticks she’s weaving under her paws, with the occasional aid of her teeth on the rough exterior. She can feel the vibration under her teeth every time she does.A token. She doesn’t even want to be apart of the games- and she’s already swept through the perimeter three times over since this morning. Why does she make a token, when she has no want to even participate? With a quick shiver of her shoulders, she shakes her head sharply to get her current needs straight. First, go set this in her nest to leave unfinished, and promptly rises fully to her paws, shaking off any pricks she might’ve received creating her little stick creation. On her bounding, blind leap away from her secluded corner, she nearly grazes a familiar face with a slight stumble. “Oh-! Sorry about that.” She mumbles with a sphere of weaved together sticks in her teeth that tumbled to the ground at the habitual, though genuine, apology.

Sagekit - Camp - Archsong, Goosefreckle (Ember34 ), (𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 )Sagekit sat up a little taller and looked up at Archsong, listening carefully as she spoke slowly. Silently he mouthed the word along before giving it a try again, still clumsy at first but this time he focused on getting it right. "Patricip- partica-" he narrowed his eyes and tried to speak a bit more slowly and sure enough, that did the trick. "Par-ti-ci-pate," he whispered and after a moment his face lit up as no correction came. Then he shook himself and tried to sit up even taller at his mother saying that she would try her best at the games, taking her "if" as a "when" because in his mind there was no more doubt that she would enter. How could she not? She was the clan's most amazing fighter! But something else got him excited to: his father telling him he'd need his energy for something today. Something exciting. Something exciting perhaps... like the games?! Sagekit stared up at Goosefreckle beside him with wide eyes. Could it be? Was he or his father going to... par-ti-ci-pate too?! At this thought Sagekit smiled proudly, he was getting more confident about that word. "Has it something to do with the games?!" he asked Goosefreckle, the words spilling out of him and voice raising in pitch towards the end. Were they really allowed to enter too? Or wait... would the entertainers put on one of their shows Sagekit loved so much?!

Sablefrost MyrtleClan Territory | With Pantherprowl (Sand) Sablefrost snorted through her nostrils as she listened to Pantherprowl. ”Oh yes, my mistake, I’m sure you never get hungry,” she joked lightly and looked up at the sky as the sun rose higher. Later on, when the sun had set, the games would officially begin and the gods’ eyes would be on MyrtleClan, even more than usual.
Part of Sablefrost couldn’t help but wonder if all of the gods’ eyes would be on them. Even Nekreos, and if he was watching, what would he think? Who else would he take? Would two deaths be enough or would he hunger for more?
Sablefrost shook her head to clear it and instead focused on listening to the options Pantherprowl gave her. Dark scale, shard of flint, a bird feather but not from a crow.
Those were certainly options, and far better ones than the fish one he had initially brought up.
”A shard of flint could work,” Sablefrost mused, her mind instantly listing every place she could find flint. If she remembered correctly that was something found in bundles of rocks or even river beds. ”Lets start by heading to the river,” Sablefrost decided. ”We’ll look for flint there before we check the cliffs.”
Sablefrost paused to glance back at Pantherprowl, a glint of amusement in her eyes as she sent him a teasing smile. ”While we’re there, maybe you can catch that fish you keep thinking about,” she told him with a flick of her tail.

Parselyleap-Camp-Dustedblack(soot ) Parselyleap's head had been in the clouds, thinking over what token to get to place into Laurelstar's nest. They were excited at the notion to try a paw at the games, while they doubted they would be able to become leader, still getting to show off their skills was exciting enough to get them interested in participating in them! Maybe a nice rock...or a feather...maybe a tuft of fur from a piece of prey? I suppose a nice claw probably would also do? Their were snapped from their thoughts at the mew of a greeting directed to them, looking to thesource a bright smile graced their face, quickly padding over to the tom. " Morning Dustedblack," they greeted their friend, their tail flicking behind them. " How have you been? You look like someone put fire ants in your fur with all that pacing." While they might have joked over his restlessness, there was concern evident in their gaze, as they looked their friend over. They were happy that most of their clanmates had survived the flood, and especially happy that Dustedblack was among them, they weren't quite sure what they would have done if he had died.

RainpawWith Fawnpaw | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖
Again his paws kneaded the ground. Rainpaw knew the stories, all the cats in the clan knew about them. It was said since the ancient times of MyrtleClan that the Lost Cave was the entrance to the underworld and he had no interest in getting lost in the cave nor coming face to face with Houndsbane. But if he didn't keep an eye on Fawnpaw, she would sneak her way back there, and bring her littermates along... And her friends... If something happened to all of them, he wouldn't forgive himself. Fawnpaw and Rainpaw were practically kin. The gods must be roaring with laughter at him, you'd think an apprentice on the cusp of being a warrior would be much bolder. "Well... We could go check it out," Rainpaw murmured, every bone in his body screaming at him at just how wrong this was, "but just for a few minutes. We're not going to go in very far and you must stay close to me the entire time. Do you understand?"
