Acaciaberry Acaciaberry laughed a little. ”Well, no one can fault you for trying, my dear,” Acaciaberry reassured her with a soft smile. ”Even if it’s lost on those two. Perhaps it’s something in their blood, they’re born to be by themselves,” she mused and tipped her head to the side when Opalheart wasn’t sure about entering.
”Oh, what a shame! I think you would make a fine leader,” Acaciaberry purred, watching Opalheart closely. ”I thought about entering myself, but, well…” Acaciaberry shrugged. ”I don’t have a token.”
Acaciaberry tipped her head to the side as she looked at Opalheart, fluttering her eyes at her. ”What do you think could represent little ol’ me?” she asked with a charming smile.

Darkwhisper - Camp - Mintpaw (Ember34 )Darkwhisper watched his apprentice with a warm smile. Mintpaw was as excited as he had expected him to be. He was glad he got to mentor a cat like that, both enthusiastic about their work and also appreciating things most of his clanmates paid no mind. In Mintpaw's case it was leaves and while Darkwhisper would also have gladly accepted his obsession even if it had no practical use he was happy that Mintpaw could use his leaves as an entertainer too. He'd make sure that his apprentice would find even more ways to utilize them in a way the clan could also appreciate his love for leaves. He got to his paws too and glanced over at Goosefreckle. "Well, we do need to wait for his instructions," Darkwhisper meowed. "But we should leave him to talk with his family for now. While we shouldn't do too much without him I don't see why we can't get in any practice though. Let's start with something simple for now, yes?" at this he gave an encouraging nod. "I'm sure we can figure something out that is simple enough that it works well with many other things. But 'simple' doesn't have to mean 'super easy', we can try to work on something that matches whatever skill level we want and are capable of."

DustedBlack
Camp -|- With Parsleyleap ( Ember34) He purrs in a similar greeting of the morning, still eaely, even with Laurelstar’s nest taken out, and ready and waiting for tokens.“I’ve been good, just reeling a bit.” He responds honestly, and with a bit of a laugh at the comparison though. Flicking his tail, he gives a smile. “How’re you? You seem all jolly, hyped for the games?” He asks, ‘mrrping’ in subtle excitement at the idea of it. “I was thinking of participating for the fun of it, I mean, why not have a challenge you don’t get a chance for everyday?”Not that he wants it to be, that would suck the fun and challenge out of it. Even if it was by means that wasn’t their leader and deputy passing to be with the Gods. If the Gods want company anywho. Honestly he’s never been one to pass up such a thing, the adrenaline, but it doesn’t mean he wants to challenge every cat in the clan every other moon to be leader, or deputy. The poor medicine cat.

Parselyleap-Camp-Dustedblack(soot) Parselyleap nodded their head, it seemed to be a common thing in most of their clanmates since the flood. " Was a bit down, we lost Laurelstar and Fignose after all, but the games seemed to have brought a spring to my step," they said with a light laugh. They hadn't been able to partake in the games when Fignose had been made deputy, due to being only a young kit, they honestly didn't remember much about that event. " You should join, I plan on it!' The idea of competing against Dustedblack was both fun and a little disappointing, while it would be fun in partaking in the games with a friend, they would be competing against one another more then anything. They doubted they personally would make it very far, not with the likes of cats like Thundersnap partaking in the games, you would have to be mouse brained to think you could beat the descendant of a demigod. " If you do join you will probably need a token, want to head out to get one with me?"

DustedBlack
Leaving Camp -|- With Parsleyleap (Ember34 ) DustedBlack dipped his nose in an idle sign of respect, before lifting it back up to give a slight grin towards Parsleyleap. “More like a leap in your step.” He jokes slightly, the grin on his face an obvious tell to knowing how terrible the pun was.To be frank, he expects his chance, mostly because he’s not really after it, is around the bottom of the pond at success. Unless the Gods somehow decided they wanted his wandering spirit self to lead a whole clan of cats in need of a leader. He’s responsible, sure, but there’s no want nor passion for such a position on his part. Not to mention that he knows he wouldn’t be able to live like that. Not happily by most means anyway. He brightens at them saying they’re planning to join, crossing his tail over his front paws as he sits down. And the mention of a token even more so makes sense. He’s almost curious if Parsley will end up taking the competition more seriously when they get to it or if they’ll keep their current stance,“That.. sounds like a fantastic idea, Parsley.” He responds, humming, “While we’re here, I have no intent of becoming leader. Don’t feel too bad if you get ahead of me. It’s alright.” He pauses, with a teasing look.“Or if I get ahead of you.” He adds, already up on his paws again, turning his gaze towards one of the exits. He waits for Parsleyleap to catch up with him, and follows them, curious where they might choose to go.

Stagshatter Camp | With Aspectpetal (soot) Stagshatter had watched Puddleheart closely as he went over everything. He sighed and fidgeted slightly, he would have loved to compete for a chance at leadership, but he had never had an apprentice. Perhaps Laurelstar simply hadn’t thought he was ready for one yet, or that someone else was always a better fit.
He was sure she knew what she was doing though. He had to trust in the gods and in the leader, even if they didn’t currently have one. Maybe his old mentor Archsong would compete, she would make a fine leader. Or perhaps Thundersnap.
Thundersnap was only a few moons older than Stagshatter and they had spent much of their apprenticeship training together. Thundersnap however, was on his second apprentice, getting one literally right after the other.
Stagshatter resisted the urge to sigh. He couldn’t fault anyone but himself, Thundersnap was a far better fighter than he was.
Still, if he ever got an apprentice, he would be the best mentor he could be.
Stagshatter was pulled from his thoughts when someone-Aspectpetal, nearly collided with him and the large tom quickly took a step to the side. ”Oh, Aspectpetal, sorry, I was…thinking,” he explained and looked around before he tipped his head to the side, studying her. ”Are you…making a token?”

Goosefreckle Goosefreckle purred softly at Sagekit’s question and nodded to him, flicking his tail. ”It is about the games!” he said excitedly and crouched down to be at eye level with Sagekit. ”See, while your mother finds a token for Laurelstar’s nest, I will get to work with the other entertainers to figure out a wonderful show to put on!” Goosefreckle explained happily.
He jumped back to his feet and looked around to see if he could spot any of the other entertainers in the camp. Some might go to Ánoithea’s Meadow to practice, though he was knew he couldn’t. He didn’t want to go anywhere Sagekit couldn’t, and he was too young to leave the camp.
That was fine, Goosefreckle was sure the camp would be quiet when everyone else left. ”What do you think I should do for my piece of the show?” He asked, smiling down at Sagekit for a second before he looked back up at his mate. ”Love, have you thought about what you’ll put in the nest for your token?” He inquired curiously, head tipped to the side.

Opalheart ~ Camp ~ Acaciaberry "Well, that is some interesting bloodline that will have to pass through the clan." Opalheart didn't want to admit it but she thought she might be able to pull off the role of leader. If the gods would take a scout as leader anyway. "Would a leafwrap of honey be any good as a token? Or basically anything smooth or silky. And if you want to find something you would have to go soon i actually have not really been paying attention to the time till the first or the games but I don't think you have all season." Aspectpetal
Camp -|- With Stagshatter ( 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖) Aspectpetal’s ears perked up sharply, feeling the dewy, storm passed breeze running through her fur gently. “Oh- it’s fine Stagshatter- sorry again! I was busy thinking myself, and apparently forgot to use my eyes.” Aspectpetal mews with slightly embarrassed smile, but still trying to keep a pleasant attitude with a bit of humor.Which quickly turns more so embarrassed at his question, noticing the tilt of his head. “Uh.. well- not really? Yes technically- but it’s.. ehm- more of.. an idea. I don’t really… want to compete.” She replies, quite a bit more messy compared to how she usually ever speaks.Aspectpetal looks noticeably hesitant with her own wording. Even around camp, she strides with more assurance, and more planned. With ideas on improving the camp’s defenses, and trails, and entertainment- all just at the brink of the pool of plenty more. Now she seems more hesitant than she’s been in quite a few moons since joining. The leaders that fall are the only ones she’d ever known, so she’s certainly reeling. She as accepted by the, Aspectpetal had become, even if minorly, a friend in a sense.

Mintpaw followed his mentor's gaze to where Goosefreckle sat with his family. Some of the apprentices excitement dying off. While he understood the importance of family, being from a large one himself, didn't mean he had to like the notion of it when it came to such exciting things!! But the excitement was back in full force when Darkwhisper said that they could do some practice. " Let's go then!! Let's go! Im sure he would be so impressed we got a headstart!" Outside Darkwhisper, Goosefreckle had to be the second Entertainer Mintpaw sought the approval of, he had always enjoyed the older tom's performances and longed to be as talented one day. He flashed another grin to Darkwhisper, his tail flicking behind him. " So what first?"

Fawnpaw Fawnpaw beamed when Rainpaw agreed to check out the cliffs. She quickly glanced around to ensure that neither Stoatchase nor Mothflutter had caught up yet and then turned back to Rainpaw. ”I understand, I promise, now let’s go, before our mentors get here!” she encouraged, bouncing up and down on her feet for a few seconds before her eagerness got the best of her and she took the lead.
Fawnpaw bounded further up the cliffs, running across the still slightly damp grounds from all the rain until she finally made it to a higher part of the cliffs that made her pause.
There, in the distance, was a looming dark cave with large rocks accentuating the entrance. Stalactites and stalagmites framed the inner entrance of the cave, making it look almost like a cat’s jaw stuck open for all eternity, each rock a fang.
”Woah,” Fawnpaw whispered, stepping closer to the entrance. A shiver rushed down her spine as a cold breeze picked up, ruffling her fur, almost as if warning her aware from entering.
Fawnpaw did as she always does and ignored it.
”Rainpaw, you have to come check this out It’s so cool!”
Cool, cool, cool, cool…
Her voice echoed throughout the cave and Fawnpaw tipped her head to the side.
How utterly intriguing…

Cedarfrost, Cloudpaw - MyrtleClan Territory - Thundersnap (𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖)Cedarfrost nodded his agreement at Thundersnap's suggestion. Since he was the one leading the patrol he got to make such decision though Cedarfrost would have objected if it had been a foolish one. Starting near the cliffs however made sense, especially with the reason he gave. While the clan would be powerless to stop a storm, on the very low chance a new one was brewing, at least they could react properly with a warning. Cedafrost doubted that another storm would be coming in the near future but even so it would be good to patrol near the cliffs first. Some cats were still on edge after the flood and might be worried about another disaster like that so just the knowledge that everything was peaceful might easy some worries. Cedarfrost said nothing of this out loud, instead just meowing "I don't see why not. Alright, Thundersnap, you're leading this patrol so we'll follow you." He briefly turned to Cloudpaw and flicked his tail, indicating to her to walk in front of him. If he wasn't leading in front Cedarfrost tended to walk behind the patrol to watch for dangers and cover them from there. Cloudpaw wasn't weak or unskilled by any means but since Cedarfrost was one of the clan's best fighters he still felt it was responsibility to do this instead of letting someone less experienced handle it. Cloudpaw glanced at Cedarfrost as he insisted on being at the rear of their little group and rolled her eyes. At his cold glare she let out a small snort but left it at that. Instead she kept her gaze firmly ahead and listened for any suspicious sounds, though it was unlikely that they'd run into anything here. "So," she said after a while. "Do you already know what you'll be looking for?" While she was directing her question at both of them she was more curious about Thundersnap's token. He was the one she wanted to win after all. "There's a lot to choose from. I'd have a hard time finding the perfect token.""I have some ideas," Cedarfrost meowed. "And near the cliffs would be one place I'd be looking. I'm certain I'll find something there but if not I have two more places in mind I'd be visiting after we're done with out patrol."

Archsong watched her mate interact with their youngest son, Goosefreckle was always better at being the nurturing parent then she was, not for a lack of trying on her part, she simply just had other ways of trying to go about parenting. But she was happy to have a tom like Goosefreckle and she simply wouldn't trade him for anyone, nothing could sway her heart from him. She thought over his question, she still hadn't fully figured out what type of token to put in. Maybe something to show her strength? She was a fighter after all. " I haven't fully decided completely but i might just do a claw, while it might not fully standout I do think it would fit with me being a fighter," she said to him. Plus with her claws the connection might be clearer? She wasn't fully sure. " Unless you two have a any suggestions?"

RainpawWith Fawnpaw | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖
As Rainpaw padded up to the maw of the cave, almost dragging his paws, he couldn't help the chill that went down his spine. How Fawnpaw managed to convince him to explore this cursed place, or how his own curiosity won over logic, he'll never know. He just wanted to go hunting. The mottled gray apprentice heard Fawnpaw call him over and reluctantly he picked up his pace. He stared down into the cave, seeing almost never-ending darkness before him. How could Fawnpaw find this exciting?

WASPSTREAK - - ★
with [ SWEETRIPPLE ] at [ CAMP ] | 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Waspstreak was almost unentertained at the announcement, a small prick on unease poking and prodding at his skin. His claws dug ruthlessly into the dirt under his paws, tail flicking slowly behind him. Puddleheart's announcement had been... interesting. He glanced around slowly as cats began to disperse. The games were now starting and Waspstreak wasn't sure if he should go ahead and 'give it his all' or just shrug his shoulders and continue as he had been. He wasn't exactly interested in becoming leader, so did that exclude him from said games? It probably did. So, flicking his tail, he slowly stood. Collecting a symbol wasn't something he intended to do. Unless maybe his daughter ended up convincing him to do it, but he doubted that would happen.
At the thought of his daughter, Waspstreak slowly glanced around, wondering where Sweetripple was. He had been so busy lately that he hadn't been able to spend any time with her. Blinking, the ginger tabby tom started to pad around until he spotted the calico pelt of his daughter. Instantly his mood lifted. However, the grump didn't exactly let it show.
"Sweetripple," Waspstreak started in a gruff mew, "Are you planning to join the games?" He asked curiously, slowly sitting beside his daughter. Amber eyes shifted to look towards the nest that sat in camp. The spot their now deceased leader had once laid in two night prior. It was an uneasy feeling, and something rubbed Waspstreak the wrong way, but he didn't want to voice his thoughts allowed, fearing it could possibly upset the gods. This was always how they did things, so why did it feel any different? It frustrated Waspstreak, but he kept his thoughts silent, in fear of listening ears and listening gods.

Brightpaw - MyrtleClan Territory - Whimbrelstep (Sand )Brightpaw listened with great interest as Whimbrelstep talked about how fishing differed from hunting land prey and smiled at her faith in him. "Thanks," he purred. "I'll do my best." He knew he'd likely need a few tries to really get it right but he at least was confident that he'd be able to react fast. This was always the part that was easiest for him. As for being swift enough, he'd see when he tried his paw at fishing. But he was determined to not give up before he'd at least made some progress. At her sudden change of subject Brightpaw gave her a questioning look. What would she need his opinion for? "Huh? Oh, sure," he meowed, surprised. "I don't know how helpful it'll be but I guess we'll see. So, what is it?" While he still looked a bit confused a hint of curiosity had also began to show on his face and now also crept into his voice. Whatever it was, it seemed important to her but probably nothing life changing, otherwise she would be asking someone older than him.

WINDSHEAR - - ★
Windshear eagerly pawed at the ground from where he had been sitting beside his mate, Riverlily. His green-blue eyes glanced around at the buzzing excitement from all the other cats regarding the games. He noticed Wolfpaw anxiously baking up towards his den, whiskers twitching in curiosity as he slowly stood. Touching his nose to Riverlily's cheek, he purred. "I'll be back in a bit my darling minnow. We'll talk about the games later if you wish." He meowed softly. His mood was always bright when he was with Riverlily, and he didn't care if other cats found him weird for the grumpy facade he would have with others. Why pay others with a happy attitude when they weren't the ones making him happy? Well, it was just a facade after all. He wasn't actually as grumpy and nonchalant as he tended to come off, but he never really pondered it, and if Riverlily loved him for it, he wasn't going to stop and think about changing it.
The gray tabby tom looked around, on the search for his sister. Smolderdawn had to be around here somewhere, right? Eventually, he spotted the molly and padded over, nudging her shoulder with his own. "The games are exciting as ever, but I fear that excitement might be causing Wolfpaw some.. anxious feelings." His mew was low, to avoid other ears. He didn't want the pair apprentice to be even more anxious than he already seemed. Perhaps his mother (and uncle, of course) would be able to help sooth the poor tom if they took him out of camp for some fresh air. Whisking his tail, Windshear gesture for Smolderdawn to follow him as he approached Wolfpaw.
Dipping his head at the apprentice, Windshear flicked his tail. "Everything alright, Wolfpaw?" He asked curiously, glancing towards his sister. She would probably be better at comforting her son than he would. He shifted from paw to paw, pondering the idea of taking the two out of camp and possibly collecting some sort of token himself to put in the nest. Shaking his head, he let the thought roll to the back of his mind for the time being, wanting to focus on Wolfpaw for the moment.

Sweetripple shifted anxiously beside her cousin, Sorrelmist. Unease had been coursing through her like a rushing river ever since the flood that took not only their leader, Laurelstar, but also their deputy Fignose. The calico let herself lean on her fellow entertainer, sharing a look of concern while Puddleheart had to stand before the whole clan and make his announcement. Once it was over, she was about to go suggest they check up on him before another voice caught her immediate attention.
"Dad!" She called out to him excitedly, turning away from Sorrelmist to sit with her father. She pressed the top of her head along his jaw in an affectionate greeting, already feeling more secure with him present. The whole clan had experienced so much tragedy in the past two days that the young molly hadn't quite processed all of the change. One thing she knew for sure, if her father hadn't been around and risked his own life to save hers, she too might have succumbed to the deadly waters.
So much prep had to be done recently to salvage what they could of camp, to fixing dens, and restocking the prey pile. Every capable paw had been put to work that Sweetripple hadn't been able to spend any quality time with her father, so she was ecstatic to be approached by him.
"Me? Join the games?" The calico giggled, poking his shoulder with her paw. "I don't think that's allowed, and I wouldn't want to anyways." She answered simply, having no desire to even take on a leadership position. It seemed too stressful, and the life of an entertainer is what she felt destined for. A little sly smile began to form on her lips and her tail lashed excitedly behind her, sweeping the ground. 'You're going to put in a token, aren't you?" Sweetripple posed it like a question, but Waspsting would know what she was hinting at. Though he wouldn't have to wait long for the reveal. "I just think you'd make a really good leader! You're so reliable and a strong fighter, I don't see why you shouldn't join the games."

Smolderdawn • Camp • with Windshear (-` gumi ´- .✫ 🐾 ) and Wolfpaw (Ember34 )
Smolderdawn felt a breeze circling in the air as she perched on a stone well above ground. Her scouting instincts were always on alert for the good of MyrtleClan. Ears swiveled, eyes peeled, claws at the ready. Anyone prepared to surprise her would be sadly mistaken.
She picked up the familiar scent of Windshear long before he approached her. Or maybe that's what she thought. The gray and white she-cat mildly flicked her ears in acknowledgement, but she became more attentive when her brother mentioned the games, and more importantly, Wolfpaw.
Smolderdawn only scoffed. “Anxious? Nonsense. Wolfpaw chose the easy path of an entertainer. What would he possibly have to worry about?” Nonetheless, she trusted her brother's intentions and carefully followed him towards her son's location.
Being a scout, Smolderdawn never cared much for the more, say, unnecessary aspects of clan life. Which is why it disappointed her when each of her kits found different interests. But she always shoved her judgements out of the way when it came to caring for her children.
It took a moment for Windshear and Smolderdawn to make it towards the apprentice. The mother took note of how much Wolfpaw resembled her, from his petite gray frame to those orange, clouded over eyes. He would've made a wonderful scout.
”Wolfpaw, how are you doing?”, she asked, shifting distractedly at a clump of grass. ”Has Pearlfeather been teaching you anything interesting?” Smolderdawn tried to divert the question on Wolfpaw’s nervousness for now. Again, what worries would an entertainer have about the games? Frankly, Smolderdawn was baffled they were allowed to compete.

As they head for the entrance of camp determined to find a token they look to the tom. " I dont either, I just think it will be a blast to join! Sides I doubt deoending on who joins I'll stand a chance anyways," They said. A gentle roll for their eyes as they nudged Dustedblack. Wolfpaw jumped slightly at the approaching pawsteps, the scents of his uncle and mother hitting him. The tom relaxing slightly at the familiarity of their scents. He opened his mouth to answer his uncle's question when his mother spoke, the young tom's mouth closing momentarily, maybe he was just being mouse brained. Shaking out his head he straightened up a bit. " Sometimes scents just get overwhelming," he said. Without his sight he had to rely on his other senses in getting around, and currently he still struggled with when meetings happened with how strong all the scents were. Hearing his mother's second question the tom thought it over. He knew more often then not she didn't really particularly cared about his training, after all he was training g to be an entertainer, not particularly exciting compared to his littermates. " She's been helping me out with figuring out hitting marks for performances," he answered, he was grateful for Pearlfeather, the blind she cat had put him at ease, while all the other entertainers were nice and he liked them, he couldn't help but wonder what woukd have happened if he hadn't gotten the she cat as his mentor, would he have just fail at his training, or woukd his mentor give up on him finding his blindness to hard to work with? " It's helping, though I doubt I'll probably do much in the performance.." His ears pulled back slightly as his head lowered. " Sorry.." Stating his worries did just make him realize how mouse brained he was, he shouldn't be bothering other cats with them.

DustedBlack
Leaving Camp -|- With Parsleyleap ( Ember34)
Dustedblack returns the same expression, his ears flickering, “Probably.” He says with a sure smile, trotting along with the other cat with a huff. “Agreed there. And agreed there aswell, for myself anyway. Not to seem all up confident though. I have a few bets on who’s joining. And they’re all quite a bit more leader then I am.” The white dotted cat says as he nudges them back good natured. There’s a somewhat small, wet puddle he hops over as they go. Nodding with a tilted head, “Best between us get’s bragging rights, mh?” The tom says with a bit of a chortled purr. He pausing to stretch, arching his back, the shorter fur along his spine bristling before he pops back up, and keeps going with Parsleyleap.A token. He never really thought of what would best represent himself. Dustedpelt knows rocks- claws, things for strength, a rabbits tail, maybe for athleticism. He never really thought of anything for himself though. “Honestly? Not a clue. Maybe something a bit odd? It’s not like it needs to be perfect.” He pauses, and snorts, “Maybe a leaf, to signify my adventuring spirit.” DustedBlack is almost curious if someone’s used a lead as a token before. He would not be at all surprised. “What have you got in mind?”

Parsleyleap-Leaving Camp-Dustedblack(soot) Parsleyleap walked with him out of camp. " Bragging rights sound lovely," They agreed. With cats like Cedarfrost and Thundersnap clearly going to participate, there definitely wasn't a chance for a cat like Parsleyleap to win, but it should still be a fun experience, especially if they just treat it like a friendly competition between them and Dustedblack. They paused briefly for him to catch up easier, their tail flicking behind them in excitement as they got further from camp. " A leaf would make sense for that reason...though they might think Mintpaw put it in," They said. " Or he'd pribably try to take it. But a leaf would really suit you to." A leaf really did seem perfect to reflect the adventurous lifestyle they both liked to partake in. " For me im not sure, i was thinking maybe putting in a tuft of fur from a piece of prey I catch or maye a feather, just to show how talented I am with hunting. Or maybe a nice rock there are quite a few ones i found that were interesting when i went out yesterday, the flood must have uncovered them."

Acaciaberry Acaciaberry let out a soft purr at the suggestion. ”Oh, that is a marvelous idea, Opal dear, I think you’re right, I need something coated in honey. Like a leaf, or a bundle of berries or—“ Acaciaberry let out a small gasp as something else came to mind and she flashed Opalheart a smile. ”I’m going to need a flower! Specifically an acacia flower,” she decided and got to her feet.
”And I know just where to find one,” Acaciaberry added. ”You’re right though, I don’t have all season, I only have until the last light of Ilíosikieos, and judging on the sun…” she glanced up, eyes gazing over the sky. The sun was at its highest, it was already midday. Traveling all the way to Ánoithea’s meadow and back would take time, she would have to move quickly.
”Well, come on then,” Acaciaberry called for Opalheart, already padding toward the entrance of camp.”We must leave now if we’re to get to the meadow and back in time.”

Stagshatter Camp | With Aspectpetal (soot) Stagshatter listened, twitching his lynx-like tufted ears. Traditionally, tokens were only made for the Lightning Games, unless it was a courting token, but Stagshatter didn’t think Aspectpetal was secretly courting anyone. Though, maybe, he hadn’t really paid attention.
Stagshatter tipped his head to the side. ”If it isn’t for the games, why are you making a token? What is it for? Are you making a token of your affections to give someone you wish to court?” He wasn’t sure if now was the best time for that, with the games going on, but then again, you couldn’t just put a halt on life.
Maybe the flood had made some people realize that.

Nectardrop camp clearing — accompanied by: Beedance she/her - scout Nectardrop, as sweet as she was, felt slightly worried for Thundersnap. She was confident in her half-brother's skills that he could easily become their new leader. Her worries simply stemmed from nothingness– it was clear that Thundersnap had everything under control. Yet the pale bengal she-cat wondered what she could do to help Thundersnap. Did he even need her help? He was older, more experienced and smarter for sure. Why would he want the help of a young scout? Distracted, she stood near the camp clearing as patrols left the camp quickly. Nectardrop needed to get her mind off of the games and trust her half sibling fully.
Yet Nectardrop's thoughts wandered again, but at least this time to something that seemed productive. She hadn't seen her mother, Beedance, recently. What did she think of the games and Thundersnap's candidacy? Or maybe what was she up to? Surely her mother was up to something, right?

Sandyhawks
✦✦✦ With Windingdeer // soot Sandyhawk just sat for a moment as he watched the crowd around him disperse, playing Puddleheart's words over in his head again. Normally he might feel excited about the Lightning Games, but it all felt a bit morbid that they were doing it to find not just a deputy, but a new leader.
Finally, the tom stood and kept an eye out for his mollies, spotting Orangesky slinking off somewhere, Pumpkingpaw chatting with friends, and then his eyes finally landed on Windingdeer. A small, rare smile brightened his expression and he made his way towards his mate.
"Love," he greeted her in a soft, affectionate tone and ran his raspy tongue over the top of her head. "Care to join me out of camp?" Sandyhawk asked, now laying his tail across her back in a protective manner. Ever since the flood he liked to keep his girls within his sight, especially at camp. He'd never been an anxious cat, but the thought of losing his family was one he didn't like to imagine. Soothsight was old, officially one of the oldest cats in the clan after Pomegranatefur's passing. He had been a great scout back in his prime years, trained some of the best cats, and now he was rewarded by getting to spend however much time left he had on the mortal realm in peace and quiet as an elder. Unfortunately the gods seemed to have a sense of humor because it seemed they just wouldn't allow the old tom to pass. So many times in his life had he barely escaped the grasp of Porthmeíos's welcoming paw, saving himself a trip to the afterlife. Even when he was younger, tricky little accidents always seemed to happen around him, but Soothsight managed to avoid them by a whisker. He was either the luckiest cat in the clan, or the unluckiest.
With his sight nearly gone, and his memory a ghost of what it once was, Soothsight peered down into Lauralstar's empty nest. The scent of her was still strong, but soon it would be washed away and their once dedicated leader would be a distant memory, a sad song, or maybe even a tale of bravery. Slowly blinking his eyes, the elderly russet tom turned and trudged over to Honeydusk and Heronflight. "Much to do, much to do." He mumbled to himself.
Finally standing before them, Soothsight nudged his way to sit perfectly in between the two mollies, peering in the direction that Puddleheart and his companion had left. "Why isn't Pomegranatefur going with him?" He asked, his questioning genuine. "Is she not feeling well? That she-cat is so stubborn even sickness wouldn't keep her from accompanying her apprentice." He mused and croaked out a chuckle. Orangesky let out an exasperated sigh and watched as he clanmates started to mill about, acting like their camp wasn't ravaged by a flood only a couple sunrises ago. While they should continue patrols and keeping up with life all the same, it just felt weird that they were acting like everything was back to normal. The games would happen soon and a new leader and deputy would be chosen. It wouldn't be until then that Orangesky would feel completely comfortable again.
And speaking of discomfort, there was something she was dreading doing. The orange tabby quickly stood and kept an eye out for a cat she really did not want to have a conversation with, but it felt necessary. Spotting her target still in camp, she made a beeline towards said cat.
"Bayfeather." Orangesky called out, her voice strong and confident. "Can I talk to you?" Beedances
✦✦✦ With Nectardrop // Sand Just as Nectardrop's thoughts wondered about the whereabouts of her mother, Beedance was suddenly by the pale bengal's side. "How is my lovely daughter doing?" She asked with a purr, just about wrapping her small body around Nectardrop's and automatically going into grooming the parts of her fur that were sticking up slightly.
Beedance was incredibly proud of her kits, her heart nearly burst earlier when Thundersnap stepped up to lead the first patrol. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that he would make a fine leader if he ended up winning the games.
"Are you excited for the games? Maybe we could ask Sorrelmist and Sweetripple if they'd help decorate our pelts."

Thundersnap MyrtleClan Territory | With Cedarfrost & Cloudpaw (Pineclaw) Thundersnap knew exactly where to lead them. The flood had been a truly terrible event, one that shook MyrtleClan to its core, but with storms, in all their destruction, came new life after, and the tides didn’t just wash opportunities upon the beach, but gifts from the gods as well.
Still, he couldn’t act like he was on a mission, he had to act casual. They were going to the cliffs to check the horizon, they were going to the beach to check the tides. Whatever Thundersnap happened to find there was entirely opportunistic.
”When we get to the beach, I suggest we look for things that may have washed up on shore,” Thundersnap suggested, glancing back toward the other two. ”The storm did more than flood our camp and territory, it disturbed the ocean as well,” he explained and turned ahead again, his paws gliding across the forest floor as he kept a quick pace.
They would be nearing the path that led to the cliffs soon and Thundersnap immediately turned upward. Checking the cliffs before the beach made sense, the cliffs would show them the horizon. Thundersnap would guide them directly to Astrapeos’ summit, and then they could stop.
He did at least slow down to answer Cloudpaw, sending her a relaxed look. ”I’m not sure what my token will be yet, but I’m sure I’ll know when I find it,” he added with a soft, confident meow.
Everyone would know when they found it. No one would be able to deny the clear sign from the gods when Thundersnap found his token.

Fawnpaw Excitement rippled through Fawnpaw’s veins as she looked into the maw of the cave. She was still young for an apprentice, as she had only been training for two moons and had yet to see many of the wonders that came with MyrtleClan’s extensive territory. This was the first time she had seen this cave, though she had seen some of the others before.
”Wow, this one’s nothing like the Alter,” Fawnpaw mused and stepped inside. ”At least we don’t have to wipe our paws first this time,” she added with an amused giggle as she entered the cave, craning her neck to look at everything.
It opened into a rather expansive cavern and as Fawnpaw explored deeper into the cave, she noticed a rather large and dark hole in the direct center of the cavern.
Naturally, she padded right over to the edge and peered down. It was like staring into the abyss and she took a deep breath before loudly shouting into it. ”Hello!”
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello…
Her voice echoed downward, still going until it became too faint, her voice carrying too far down for her to hear anymore. ”Wow, I wonder how deep this goes! It…it must go to like, the center of the earth or something!” Fawnpaw mused excitedly and immediately got an idea, abandoning the edge to look for a rock.
As she searched, she couldn’t help but laugh again. ”Pikepaw’s gonna be so jealous that she left our group and we explored the lost cave without her,” Fawnpaw mused. She can’t be having even half as much fun as we are. Right, Rainpaw?” Fawnpaw asked, glancing back toward the older apprentice.
