Morningpaw nodded her head preparing herself to explain everything she saw. She was still trying to process it herself but she remembered it clear as day. “Well, first I was standing on a small island and the water was surrounding me. When I looked down to see what I was standing on I fell in, the water was so cold, but so clear. Anyways, a big koi fish appeared in front of me, it was white and silver, and that’s when I found out I could breath under the water.” She let out a small giggle as she thought back to the dream, but quickly regained her focus. “Then all of a sudden three more koi fish swam up and they all started circling around each other. One was black, one was calico, and one was white and black, and of course the white and silver one. Then out of no where they split up, the black and calico fish went one way and the other two went the other way. I tried to watch them all swim away from each other but the water grew disgusting, it turned completely black.” She mewed with confusion to Owlwing, it was so real. “Then that was it. I came back to the surface and woke up, it was so real. My pelt still feels cold.” The apprentice admitted as she looked around the den, thankful to be home.

OWlwing gave the cat his full attention. His amber eyes filled with worry. Did Brindlefoot REALLY have a nightmare? He shook his head, this must be related but he was certain Brindlefoot had been lying. Even that stubborn she-cat had voiced her concerns to him in the past. When the silver she-cat finished speaking, Owlwing sat for a moment in thought, he decided it would be best to talk to Moonstar before he came up with any theories, though he expected that the fish represented each of the kits. "You can have today off, rest and gather your strength. Use either chamomile or thyme if you need to calm down. We have plenty still. No poppy seeds." He told her, standing up. He gave the cat one last look over, as if she had just been part of a terrible battle then exited the dent. The medicine cat rushed to the willow tree and towards his leader's den. "Moonstar, I'm coming in." He stated, entering the den without asking. "Morningpaw had a vision." He told the leader, his expression grave, he wished he could have carried this burden instead of the youngling under his wing. When he had the leader's attention, he told her all the details that Morningpaw had provided him. "Silvermist told me that Brindlefoot was complaining of nightmares. I feel that it is time for her to go. She will drag her kits down with her. She holds no interest in them-I have never seen a mother with such a lack of interest in her kits- yet still feels she is entitled to them simply for birthing them." Owlwing had some passion in his voice. Whether Brindlefoot liked it or not, the kits were thriving here. She may dislike the clan but they all had found their footing here, even Duskpaw and Frostpaw who were the most reserved of the four. He feared that she would try to manipulate the kits in some way, maybe even Silvermist if she could.

Morningpaw confusingly nodded at Owlwing as he quickly left the den, slowly coming to realize her dream could have been a vision. Staring among the den she tried to sort out what it could mean, ugh why didn’t Owlwing tell me? As she thought, things slowly started to make sense. The series of events have come up to this moment, moment of realization.
Moonstar stood quickly when Owlwing unexpectedly hurried into her den, she listened attentively to his concerns and thought for a moment before speaking to him. She had been right, Brindlefoot was planning something, and Owlwing was on her tail. “Agreed.” She mewed sternly to him, “we need to do something before she tries to talk to the kits and Silvermist.” Moonstar began to pace, wondering what she could say to get Brindlefoot to leave empty handed. But she doubted it would be easy. She paused and looked at Owlwing, “I know I should know what to do or say, but really, I don’t. No matter what we say or do that selfish cat will use it to convince the kits to go with her. That’s one thing I know.” Moonstar admitted to the tom, she had no clue what to do. She started to pace again, trying to think of the solution to this issue.

Owlwing nodded as she spoke, feeling anxious that she also was not sure what their next move would be. "I'll let you decide if we should tell Silvermist." He told her. He quietly excused himself then travelled back to his den. "Did you take any herbs yet?" He asked his apprentice, noticing that she still seemed alert and nervous. Without waiting for her response, he gathered some dry thyme, placing it in front of her. "It won't make you drowsy, it will just relax you a little." He stated, watching her carefully. "I think it will be good to spend time with your littermates today." He added, hoping that keeping them together will prevent what the young cat had seen. Was it showing the future or present?. He signed, then started his work, hoping that he could do his best to keep the kits safe.
Frostpaw slowly opened her pale eyes, glancing around the den. It was rare for her to be the first awake. Silently, he stood, and padded outside, gracefully avoiding her den mates as to not wake them. The quiet cat stretched and looked around the clearing. The sun was just coming over the horizon, the ground, not yet warmed by it's rays, was cold and damp on her paw pads. The she-cat walked towards the fresh-kill pile, silently picking out a mouse she had caught yesterday, wanting to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

Moonstar dipped her head at Owlwing as he left, thinking about Silvermist as she paced her den. Something was strongly telling her to tell the tom, regardless of how he may feel. He could no longer let Brindlefoot control his every decision, it was time he had opened his eyes. She stopped pacing and watched out of her den, checking to see if he was up yet.
Morningpaw looked up to Owlwing as he set the thyme in front of her, “thank you,” she mewed before eating the herbs. She stood to leave the den, but before she left the entrance she glanced behind her at her mentor, “I know it’s Brindlefoots fault.” She bluntly stated and walked out of the den before he could say anything to her. Searching for her litter mates she noticed Frostpaw at the fresh-kill pile, good I’m starving. “Hey.” Morningpaw mewed to her sister and grabbed a shrew before making her way to the spot they usually eat.
Duskpaw emerged from the apprentice den and followed after his sisters quickly, grabbing the small finch he had proudly caught.
Brindlefoot woke shortly after, making her way over to the kits. “Good morning.” She mewed sweetly and laid next to them all as they ate, waiting for the best time to tell them. She had to tell them, she was eager to leave and be where she belonged. There was no way she could be the selfish cat everyone thought she was, she must convince the kits to leave with her. “I need to talk to you all,” she broke her silence, waiting for all of the kits to turn their attention to her. Pausing for a moment she thought, how do I lie to my own kits? Never had she felt her heart swell so much, until she looked at them all, knowing she was going to make up a lie to them. The truth always comes out, she guiltily thought as she looked down to her paws, I’m a coward.

Owlwing said nothing as the young cat left, continuing his work like usual. He didn't know what to say. He silently wished that he was older and more experienced so that everything was clear to him.
Aspenpaw yawned as he left the den after his brother, lazily following the black cat to the fresh-kill pile. He paid no attention to what he grabbed. He was sore and tired from yesterday's training, and his hungry belly was begging for any kind of food. He picked up a shrew and quietly followed his siblings, his ears perking up when he saw Brindlefoot. "Good morning!" He purred cheerfully.
Frostpaw purred in greeting to her siblings, having already started to eat her food. She paused however when she saw her mother, the kit felt her heart skip a beat. It was so rare for Brindlefoot to come talk to them. She glanced to her siblings wanting to see if they were also feeling the same amount of excitement as she was. The pale cat noticed that Morningpaw seemed...off. The normally outgoing and friendly cat seemed quiet and stand offish. Am I rubbing off on her She thought to herself, half joking. The cat gave her sibling a concerned look, though she said nothing, not wanting to accidentally cause Brindlefoot to leave.

Brindlefoot shook her thoughts away and looked back at the kits, “I’m really sorry to say this to you all, but this isn’t my real home. And it’s time for me to go back to my real home.” Taking a deep breath she gave them a look of sympathy. “I’m really sorry, it’s also the reason I never got so close to you all. The clan knew one day it would be time for me to go home and didn’t want me to get too close. I don’t belong here.” She explained to her kits, feeling the guilt nagging at her in the back of her mind. The guilt had her questioning if she was doing this for herself or for her pride.
Morningpaw listened to Brindlefoot with disbelief and stood up defensively, looking down at her mother, “just shut up!” She spat at her, feeling her pelt grow hot with anger. “Everything you say is a lie, the only truthful thing you have said is that you don’t belong here.” Morningpaw argued, after she became a medicine cat apprentice her eyes opened to a lot of things, she could now see right through Brindlefoots lies. She looked to her siblings, hoping they’d back her up, but Duskpaw and Frostpaw looked at Morningpaw as if she had just killed a cat.
Duskpaw put his ears back in disbelief towards Morningpaw, “that’s your mother!” He argued to his sister, how dare she speak to mother that way.
Morningpaw shot a warning look at Duskpaw, “no, that’s your mother.” The she-cat spat at him. She had never been so mad, the once always happy she-cat now felt like ripping the pelt off of her own mother.

Frostpaw nearly choked at the explosion of emotions around her. "Calm down both of you!" She stated, getting between the two siblings. She looked bewildered, used to solving arguements but it was usually between Duskpaw and Aspenpaw, Morningpaw had always been so easy going. "Don't accuse her Morningpaw, and Duskpaw, don't shout like that, do you want the whole clan to hear?" She spoke firmly, her voice more solid than it usually was. She looked to Aspenpaw who was already on his paws, mouth gapped open.
"What do you mean by 'go home'?" Aspenpaw asked, eyes wide. As far as he knew, Brindlefoot was born and raised here just like them. Had him and his siblings been lied to? He shook his head. "You were born here! We all were. We are Isletclan cats. Why would everyone want their clanmate to leave?" He thought back to what Redpaw had said and felt his heart drop. "Who...are you?"

Morningpaw took a deep breath and looked at Brindlefoot, impatiently waiting for the she-cat to tell them who she really was. Maybe for once she could tell the truth.
Brindlefoot cowardly looked down, but slightly relieved she could be honest. “I am not a born clan cat. My real name is Azreal, and I’m a rogue.” She finally admitted to the kits, looking at them expecting Morningpaw to once again lash at her. “I’m sorry, I really am. It was best that I joined the clan, but not anymore.” She tried to have sympathy in her voice, hoping they would volunteer on their own to come with her. But she had a plan.
Morningpaw began to angrily pace, feeling her pelt bristling. I can’t believe this nonsense. But she suddenly paused and looked at her siblings, realizing what her dream had meant. She needed to talk to Owlwing, could he have already known what her dream meant? She shot a glare at Brindlefoot, “finally we hear some truth.”
Duskpaw stepped at Morningpaw, “why can’t you listen?” He argued with her, surprised at his sisters defense.

Aspenpaw looked defeated, the realization that he wasn't truly a clan cat hit him hard. Every cat knew except for them. He shook his head, it didn't matter, he still had his friends and sibling. "That doesn't make sense. Why would father break the warrior code" He questioned, sounding a bit more aggressive. He wished he hadn't asked about her origins. He had always know his father as a true example of a clan cat, brave, friendly, always putting his clan first. He couldn't imagine him betraying his clan and sneaking off to be with an outsider. If it weren't for the silver pelts of his siblings and his own blue eyes, he would have questioned if they were even Silvermist's kits. "and why would you want to leave now?"
Frostpaw pushed against Duskpaw to stop him from taking another step. "I said that's enough. Morningpaw, we need to hear what she's trying to say. Stop interrupting her." She told her sister, looking back at her mother. The dark tabby seemed so defeated. She remembered how beautiful and shiny her coat had been when they were kits, but now, it looked dull and disheveled. She leaned over to her sister, speaking quietly. "Morningpaw please, we deserve to know, but if you keep interrupting her then she might never tell us." She pleaded. "Silvermist would never tell us, you know that."

Brindlefoot closed her eyes in regret over everything, wondering how she always ends up in these situations. Knowing she had already hurt all their feelings she wanted to spare them as much as she could, “well, me and your father aren’t mates anymore. You all are about grown, it’s time for me to go live my life now.” She stood up and and observed the kits closely, “no more questions.” She said with no remorse and turned to Morningpaw, “it’s okay to be angry, I’m sorry.” Brindlefoot said to the kit and turned around, hoping the kits wouldn’t chase after he asking questions.
Morningpaw took a step closer to Frostpaw and Duskpaw, “we were better off not knowing and you two better not be mouse brained enough to follow that flea bag.” She mewed with disgust, surprised at her own words. She never knew how heartless another cat could make her feel, she felt no pity for Brindlefoot. She was lying, Morningpaw was unsure of what but she was lying.
Duskpaw shook his head at Morningpaw, “why can’t you shut up? What has mother ever done to you so bad?” He mewed defensively at the she-cat, not being able to grapes the reasoning for her heartlessness towards their own mother.
Morningpaw shook her head back at Duskpaw, “you just wouldn’t understand, but there’s someone that will.” She paused and looked him in the eyes before turning around and angrily making her way to the medicine den. She had something to talk to Owlwing about, she had no time to bicker with those two who won’t listen. “Owlwing?” He mewed as she entered the den.

Aspenpaw sat down, looking at his paws, completely silent. Without a word he got up, and fled to the apprentice den as fast as his paws would take him, feeling ashamed of what just happened. He crept into the den and curled up closely beside Redpaw, feeling all of his emotions rising up like a flood. Without a word, he closed his eyes tight, hoping that when he opened them, it would have all been just a nightmare.
"Where are you two going?" Frostpaw pleaded, watching as her siblings both left without another word. The pale she-cat looked to her brother, feeling guilty that she couldn't stop their argument. "They just need some time to collect their thoughts." She told her brother, giving him a lick on his forehead. She felt her heart race, not sure if she was angry or scared. She took a deep breath and tried to mimic the reassuring smile her father always gave them whenever any of them were upset. "Let's go to the half-twoleg bridge." She suggested, leaning forward to pick up her meal. "We can finish eating there." She added, not wanting their emotions to be on display for the whole clan to see. She felt so weak and exposed, like eyes were silently watching and judging them.
Owlwing looked up from his herbs, but stood quickly when he saw how upset she was. "Are you okay?" He asked, flicking his tail to instruct her to sit down. He finished up organizing the herbs that they had left drying the day before, storing the ones that had finished drying already. When he was down, he went to sit down with his apprentice, his tail wrapped neatly across his paws as he watched her with an attentive gaze.

Duskpaw nodded his head at Frostpaw and grabbed his prey, which he didn’t even feel like finishing. He shamefully walked besides his sister to the half-twoleg bridge, feeling his stomach in knots. He never liked fighting with his siblings, how could they disagree so much? Brindlefoot was their mother, she would never lie to them, right? Once they reached the bridge he set his prey down and look up to Frostpaw, “do you suppose Morningpaws right?” He asked her, thinking of the possibilities. If Morningpaw was right about her lying, what is it that she’s lying about?
Morningpaw sighed and sat down in front of Owlwing, hoping he’d be one hundred percent honest with her. “I just had the worst argument with my siblings. Brindlefoot, or Azreal, just told us who she really is and said she’s leaving.” She took a moment to gather her thoughts again, but spoke before Owlwing could reply, “that’s when I realized what my dream meant. My siblings are going to leave with that mouse brain.” Morningpaw forced herself to say and looked down to her paws, honored to have had a vision, but it was making everything much more heavy on her.

Frostpaw looked to her brother as he spoke, then looked back out to the water in front of them. "I don't know." She told him honestly. Then he gave him a nudge, trying to raise his spirits a little, her own as well. "I don't know what she would be lying about. She told us her origin and that she felt she had to leave, nothing else." She stated, narrowing her eyes a little as she recalled the discussion. What was Morningpaw so upset? Brindlefo-Azreal, didn't say anything that would make sense to ie about. She closed her eyes as she thought, trying to remember everything that had been said. "Morningpaw was in a bad mood before Brindlefoot even spoke to us." She pointed out. "Maybe she and Owlwing got into an argument, she isn't bring him anything on her way back to the den."
Owlwing signed, he had hoped that they would have had a few days before Brindlefoot had made a move. He had thought that the she-cat would be too cowardly to talk to all the kits at one time. "I'm sure it will be fine. I already told Moonstar." He told the she-cat, not as confident as he had hoped he would be. "When you guys all had a chance to calm down, you can all talk it out. Siblings fight but it doesn't always mean it's the end. They are all still in the camp after all. The prophecy could mean emotional distance, not just physical, unfortunately, it seems to be in motion already. You have to tell them when you get the chance." The brown tom stood, looking around the den. "I'll let you choose what tasks you feel need to be done. I don't want you to be even a paw step out of the camp until I tell you you can though." He told her. He was sure that the kits were all having a hard time with this news, if he tried to talk to them now, they would grow even more distant.

Duskpaw nodded in agreement, “you’re right.” He mewed and crouched down to finish his meal, but turned around when he heard steps behind him. He looked to see Azreal walking to the two of them, he quickly turned to Frostpaw, giving her a worried look. It’s too soon for this.
Azreal brushed against the kits, “I love you both so much.” She mewed and sat next to them, hoping the kits wouldn’t take it oddly that she came to sit with them. She wanted the two to join them on her venture back to be a rogue, so she’d have to convince them that she really wants them to go with her. Duskpaw looked at Azreal confused, “I love you too?” He mewed unsure.
Morningpaw nodded at him, “of course. I’m sorry I didn’t bring you prey, I will get to that.” She mewed and brought him back a rather large shrew and pushed it towards him. Since the mentor told her she could do that tasks she feels needs to be done she decided she’d go find her father and then do her work. Silvermist felt like the only one who could really comfort her right now, she left the den and began padding around looking for the tom.

Frostpaw looked at her mother then glanced to Duskpaw, nodding in agreement to his words. She took a step forward, in front of her brother, pale eyes looking up to her mother's amber gaze. "Mother, why was Morningpaw so upset with you?" She asked, worry clouded her eyes. Was there something she didn't know? She gave Azreal a hopeful look, wanting an answer, even if it was simply that her theory of Morningpaw being upset due to Owlwing. It didn't make sense, why was Morningpaw calling their mother a liar? Was her origin different than what she told them? She thought hard about it. No Morningpaw was also surprised by that. it doesn't make sense. She looked back to her sibling, and gave him a comforting look. Azreal will give them some kind of answer, whether it was the truth or not, Frostpaw did not know. Regardless, she had to be there for Duskpaw.
Silvermist was still sleeping soundly in his nest when he heard padding outside of the den, quietly, he emerged to see Morningpaw with an upset expression. "Morningpaw, what's wrong?" He asked, rushing over to her, crouching down to see her face clearly.

Azreal shrugged her shoulders but gave Frostpaw a comforting nudge. “I can’t answer for her, because truthfully I don’t know. You all will talk it out later, and you can ask her yourself.” She mewed, hoping to comfort the young she-cat. She looked out at the water, wondering what could convince the two to go with her. But maybe she didn’t have to as much as she thought, “I wish you both could come with me.” Azreal said with sorrow in her voice.
Duskpaws eyes widened at Frostpaw, he was speechless and couldn’t get a word out. He indicated to his sister for her to speak, worried he’d say the wrong thing.
Morningpaws throat felt like it crunched up when her father looked at her, making it more difficult to speak to him. She cleared her throat and looked down, “I- I just miss you,” she slowly mewed and took a small breath, “and I got an omen and my siblings might leave the clan with Azreal and I just need you.” She mewed as fast as she could and and dug her pelt into his. His fur against his comforted her, she could never leave him or the clan, this was her home.
Redpaw slowly woke up to find Aspenpaw pressed against him, “are you alright Aspenpaw?” He asked the other apprentice, hoping nothing was wrong, but he wouldn’t be sleeping so close if everything was okay. Redpaw began to lick Aspenpaws forehead, hoping to comfort him.

Frostpaw felt warmth wash over her at the unexpected affection, but quickly calmed herself. She could feel Duskpaw staring at her. She shifted slightly, thinking of what to say. "Mother, we don't want you to go." She told the tabby, glancing to Duskpaw as she spoke, she then continued. "We would be betraying our friends and clanmates if we leave with you...I don't want to hurt anyone..."She trailed off, unsure on what to say, hoping to find a way to keep everyone happy. Maybe her mother will change her mind if she knew she would be missed. She once again looked to her brother, hoping to see what his opinion was. She felt obligated to protect him, and the rest of her family.
Silvermist was shocked at her words, but brought his daughter close. "Azreal?" He questioned softly, coming to terms with what she said. He looked down at the she-cat with a concerned look. "Oh Morningpaw, I'm so sorry that I never told any of you." He said quietly, burying his muzzle into her fur. Guilt had stuck him like lightning, it made his whole body feel cold as ice. He had wanted to protect them, yet he had caused them so much pain by remaining silent. "I'm so sorry." He whispered yet again. After a moment he pulled away. "They won't leave. I won't let them leave. I promise."
"Yes" Aspenpaw said quickly, pressing himself closer to his friend. He felt like a little kit, unable to do anything but cry. He felt tear escape, soaked up by his moss nesting as he sat there in silence. Why did this have to happen to his family? After several minutes, he looked up to his friend. "I'm not a clan cat." He told Redpaw, his normally bubbly and loud voice now a hushed whisper. "My family is falling apart and there's nothing I can do." He cried, pressing his head against Redpaw's pelt.

Azreal pushed herself against Frostpaw, “I mean, they wouldn’t particularly be hurt. They don’t like rogues, that’s why they never accepted me..” she mewed, looking slightly at her kits, she needed them to go with her. This lying didn’t guilt her as much as telling them who she truly was, this was easy to her. Weighing out her options she kept thinking, pushing them away from the clan might be easier than she thought.
Duskpaw felt offended when his mother spoke, “so, pretty much they don’t accept us?” He pressed up against his mother and Frostpaw, maybe we should go with her.
Morningpaw felt herself start to cry, there was nothing her father could do. The omen was right, and now it’s all unfolding in front of her. This was something no one could prevent, and it scared her. What would happen to her siblings? Who is Azreal? She felt defeated, and looked up to Silvermist, “you can’t promise that. And that’s okay. We have each other, and Aspenpaw.” She mewed quietly, her chest felt heavy, but she needed him to understand that there was nothing he could do.
Redpaw laid his head on Aspenpaw after he told him, “I’m so sorry Aspenpaw.” He mewed, still trying to comfort the tom. He wish he could take his pain away but he couldn’t. He laid there with Aspenpaw, hoping in some way everything would work out the way they wanted, but Azreal was an evil cat in Redpaws eyes. She’d do anything to ruin a good thing.

Frostpaw opened her mouth to respond, but stopped for a moment and thought. Surely someone in the clan would miss them, after all they were raised here. "What about Moonstar...or Oakpelt?" She asked quietly, remembering her mentor's words about doing things for herself. "And father, Aspenpaw and Morningpaw would miss us...right?" She added. Normally she would feel confident in this, but Duskpaw had already seemed to accept what Brindlefoot was implying. She couldn't leave him all alone. She stood there between the two cats, her mind racing to find a solution, something to fix this problem. Why did Morningpaw have to act so difficult, and then Aspenpaw left them without a word. If those two had stayed with them then this situation would have never happened.
Silvermist felt his heart sink at her words, he shook his head. "No. Morningpaw, I will protect all of you. Every single one of you will grow up, become wonderful warriors, and maybe one day have a beautiful family of your own." He told her, refusing to accept her words, he knew Starclan must have spoken to her, but surely they can be wrong. "Frostpaw and Duskpaw are just as much members of this clan as you or me." Silvermist was distraught, he felt like his whole world was crashing down around him. The thought of his two beautiful kits having to live far away from him, in the harsh world outside of the clan was almost too much to bare. If it weren't for him trying to be strong in front of his daughter, the silver tom would be a broken mess, pleading to Starclan to forgive him and spare his kits.
Aspenaw continued to cry, his body shaking with every ragged breath. He could have prevented this. Redpaw had warned him yet he gave up on it, acting as if it was just a simple argument between his parents and nothing more. "What if they leave?" He whimpered in between breathes. "What if I never see them again? What if they end up leaving and dying because I did nothing. I just ran away like a coward."

Azreal slightly nodded at Frostpaw, “you’re right, they would miss you. But I would miss you more, I’m your mother.” She mewed sweetly to them, truly enjoying their presence. Not that Azreal cared, but she didn’t want them to believe that clan hated them. They will end up fighting for the them, which would make her look like a liar.
Duskpaw appreciated Azreals reassurance, “of course they would miss us Frostpaw.” He attempted to comfort her, but he truly wanted to go with their mother. What am I going to do?” Duskpaw was so close with his family, life wouldn’t be the same without them. Everything was falling apart, why couldn’t life be how it was before?
Morningpaw looked at Silvermist with tears in her eyes, wishing she could protect him from getting hurt. He never did anything to deserve all of this and she couldn’t bare to see him so upset. But she felt heartbroken too, how could this be happening so fast? We were so close. Morningpaw just wanted comfort, she didn’t want to talk about it anymore. “I love you,” she said with a crack in her voice.
Redpaw sighed and began licking Aspenpaw again, “you did nothing wrong, and you belong here. Just because Azreal isn’t a clan cat that doesn’t mean you aren’t. You’re also my brother, and I don’t know what I’d do without you. Your siblings will find their way, you can’t protect them forever.” He mewed in between licks, trying to give the tom reassurance.

Frostpaw stood frozen (pun intended), she felt overwhelmed by the situation. Since she could remember, she always wanted to feel her mother's embrace. She also wanted to protect Duskpaw, aware that he seemed happy with the idea of leaving with their mother. The she-cat tried to think but it was growing difficult to do so. Eventually she broke the silence. "Mother, could we have a moment to discuss everything?" She asked, looking at her paws. "We need to gather our thoughts...We will give you our answer before sun high." She promised, looking up to meet her mother's gaze. She needed to know what Duskpaw felt, unsure if he would be honest while Azreal was here.
Silvermist pressed himself closer to Morningpaw, sensing that she was done with this conversation. He couldn't imagine how hard of the burden this must have been for her. Only seven moons old, hardly old enough to be an apprentice, yet she is having to watch her family get torn apart. "I love you too." He told her, allowing her to lean against him as he looked up to the morning sky. He couldn't help but to think that rain would be coming shortly.
Aspenpaw nodded absent mindedly, not fully paying attention to what Redpaw was saying. "I'm sorry." He told the cat, feeling embarrassed that he was being like this. He looked up and looked at Redpaw. "I promise, I won't leave you. You're my best friend Redpaw." He told the cat, feeling a spark of determination as he spoke. He knew one day, Redpaw and him will do great things one day. He will be better than his mother ever was. He was sure that Redpaw was thinking the same thing. "I promise when I become leader, I'll even let you be my deputy." He mewed, adding a little bit of a laugh at the end of his sentence, it was half-hearted but he felt the need to make his friend smile.

(Lol cx )
Azreal dipped her head at the two apprentices and made her way back to camp, reflecting on everything she had said. She felt proud, it seemed as though her plan had worked in her favor.
Duskpaw felt worried as she looked at Frostpaw who looked unsure of what to do. He had to comfort her the best he could, a lot had happened today and he needed to a brother. “It’ll be okay, if you want to stay you can stay. It’s my chance to get to know mother.” It hurt to say it, he was going to miss his siblings and father so much he felt his chest squeeze. He needed to go spend time with his siblings, who knew when Azreal planned to leave.
Morningpaw dug herself into Silvermists pelt, she would never leave him for a cat who didn’t really care for her. If Azreal cared about her kits she would’ve never made this so hard on them. She though to the fight with her siblings and lifted her head slightly to speak to Silvermist, “and I got in a huge fight with Duskpaw and Frostpaw.” She mewed guiltily to her father and dug her face back into his fur.
Redpaw giggled, “whatever you say.” He teased, glad to see Aspenpaw trying to lighten the mood. He nudged the tom slightly, “you hungry? I’m starving.” He confessed after his stomach had growled. He woke up to Aspenpaw laying next to him, so maybe he hadn’t ate yet.

Frostpaw gave Duskpaw a horified look and quickly shook her head. "Duskpaw, we have to stick together..." She pleaded, her voice back to it's usual, quiet tone. She felt so tired, her legs felt as though they would buckle if she took a single step. She sighed, pressing herself against her sibling. "Let's go talk to the others. I'll fix this, I promise." She told him, her head resting on his shoulder as she stared out to the water, towards the distant mainland. She didn't know what she was going to do, but Duskpaw would have difficulties being out there. She closed her eyes, trying to think of how she could possibly fix this problem. Soon though, she broke away from her sibling and nodded her head towards camp. It was time to face their siblings and figure out what could be done. Would she be able to convince her brother to stay?
Silvermist nodded as she spoke. "They had always been close, even as kits." He explained to his daughter, his heart breaking a little more as he thought of the fight she was speaking of. "I'm sure they feel ignored by the clan." He felt some guilt. He recalled yesterday how uninterested Duskpaw and Frostpaw had been when Redpaw sat with them. He should have done better, it was clear the two had been struggling to find their place. He always thought they would grow out of it if he gave them time, but in the end, he was just making excuses. "They love you, I'm sure they will more than happy to make amends. You just have to remember that they didn't have a vision to warn them about this. They know only what they've been told."
Aspenpaw shook his head, "I ate before Brindlefoot talked to us. I'll just rest here." He told his friend with a worn out smile. His face and eyes were sore now, he felt like he was having to squint. "Thank you." He added. He didn't know what he would have done without Redpaw. He felt guilt brew in his chest. He had just left Duskpaw and Frostpaw in the clearing without saying anything. Surely they felt like he had abandoned them.

Duskpaw followed Frostpaw, he was so confused he didn’t know what to do. He felt torn in two, what was he going to do? His mother didn’t deserve to leave alone but this was also his home. Maybe if Frostpaw went with him things would feel somewhat normal.
Redpaw nodded, “okay. I’m going to go eat.” He said and slowly got up from the nest, and making his way to the fresh kill pile. His thoughts running about Aspenpaw and his family, the kits and Silvermist didn’t deserve this. The though of Azreal twisted his stomach, he always knew something was off about her.
Morningpaw pulled back slightly, “you’re right, I’m going to go to make sure Aspenpaw is okay.” She said to Silvermist and gave him a loving nudge before making her way to the apprentices den. She quietly entered the den to Aspenpaw curled up in one of the nests, her heart swelling for him. She walked over and cuddled close to him, “nothing could tear us apart.” She reassured him and bagan to purr.

Frostpaw watched as she saw Silvermist race past the path they were on, her ears pinned back as she noticed how upset he looked. Somone must have told him. He's probably going to try to talk to Moonstar about it. She thought to herself, feeling a sinking sensation in her stomach once again. She shook her head and continued forward, looking around the camp for her siblings. She noticed Redpaw and looked away as she walked by, unsure if the cat was aware of what had happened. She didn't want to find out. Her ears perked when she heard her siblings in the apprentice den, watching her siblings for a moment before sitting down, looking to Duskpaw. Morningpaw and Duskpaw had to apologize to each other, but she was unsure if either would do so.
Aspenpaw purred at his sister, happy to know she was not planning on leaving. He stood up quickly when Frostpaw and Duskpaw entered. "You're still here!" He said with relief, glad that they hadn't left yet. "Has Azreal already left?" He asked, taking a step forwards. He was still visibly upset, but the sight of all of his siblings together made him feel much better and secure.

Morningpaw quickly stood up with Aspenpaw as their siblings entered the den, she put her head down thinking of what her father said. They only know what you’ve told them. she let out a sigh but refused to look at them, “I’m sorry for earlier.. it’s just that-“ she finally looked at them, afraid to tell them she had gotten an omen, they wouldn’t understand. Morningpaw shook her head slightly, “it’s nothing. Azreal hasn’t done anything for us, and now she wants to rip us apart.” She gave them a sorrow filled gaze, knowing they would be leaving. “I love you all, no matter what happens.” She wish she could tell them, but would they understand? Would they think she’s lying? She would tell Aspenpaw eventually, but Frostpaw and Duskpaw didn’t look as trusting as they usually do.
Duskpaw nudged Morningpaw, “it’s okay, I love you too.” He mewed and rubbed against her, thankful the fighting was over. But he couldn’t ignore that Morningpaw say Azreal was trying to rip them apart, how? Azreal made it clear it was their choice to go, and if he wanted to go he had to tell his siblings. The choice was clear like the sky, he couldn’t let his mother go alone. His siblings would be safe with the clan and their father. Clearing his throat he looked at them all, “I’m going to go with Azreal.”

Aspenpaw looked shocked at Duskpaw’s words, and shook his head as he spoke. “Duskpaw you can’t leave us! You’re a clan cat!” He insisted, looking to Morningpaw to see if she could help convince his brother to stay. It didn’t make any sense, Duskpaw loved being a clan cat right? The dark tabby couldn’t think straight, why was everything around him falling apart? What did Azreal say to them to make them want to leave? “Why? Because she said that she loves you?” He questioned, feeling some anger now that he was coming to realize the situation at hand. He shook his head again, sadness filling his blue eyes as he spoke. “We have to stick together, right Frostpaw?” He looked to Frostpaw to see if she was also surprised by the black tom’s words, but the pale she-cat looked away in shame. “Frostpaw?”
Frostpaw looked to the wall of the den, away from her siblings’ pleading gazes. “I don’t know...” She told them, her voice quiet, a tinge of sadness lingering with each word she spoke. “I can’t let Duskpaw be all by himself.” She added, looking to Aspenpaw with a defeated look. She didn’t mind being alone, but the thought of her brother fending for himself made her skin prickle with anxiety. She looked to Duskpaw, studying him for a moment before looking back to her other siblings, feeling torn. She couldn’t have one paw in each world, she had to choose. She swallowed hard before releasing a deep breath, concentrating on the moss that lined the den floor. “I’ll leave as well.” She told them, breaking the silence.

Morningpaw felt her heart sink as Frostpaw and Duskpaw spoke, she looked to Aspenpaw with worry. She couldn’t keep her omen away from them, they needed to know that she knew. She mouthed ‘I’m sorry’ to Aspenpaw before looking to the rest of them to speak, “I got an omen last night. It was telling me that we were going to split ways, and once we do things just won’t ever be the same…” she mewed, sounding defeated, looking to the ground. Her siblings were going to split up, and she couldn’t bear the heartbreak. Why couldn’t Azrael just go alone? Why did she have to ruin their family? So many questions that Morningpaw had that would never be answered, but she quickly ran her gaze across all three of them. “Can we promise to find each other, one day?” She asked them, knowing they were going to leave no matter what. She needed to know that she would always have her siblings.. no matter how far away they were.
Duskpaw was surprised at Frostpaws reply, “you want to go?” He asked in confusion but got distracted by Morningpaw. He couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt as she spoke, knowing she had an omen about them splitting up made his heart hurt. “I promise,” he quickly mewed and pushed himself closer to her. He loved them all so much, he couldn’t understand his reasoning for going with Azreal. “I’m sorry Aspenpaw, I know she’s probably lying.. it just feels like the right thing to do..” more guilt rushing over him as he finally answered his brother, how can I do this to them?

Aspenpaw watched in silence, his voice was gone and his throat felt as if he hadn’t have a drop of water in days. He looked down at his paws as Morningpaw spoke, he couldn’t imagine how terrible it must have been to sit and watch as your family was torn apart, fully aware of the outcome but powerless to do anything to stop it. He nodded in agreement. “Maybe, we can try to see each other on the full moon? The most of the clan goes to the mainland to meet with Forestclan...if we are able to sneak away, we could catch up once in a while.” He suggested, he knew it wouldn’t be a solid plan, sometimes it would simply be impossible, but if he could get at least one chance every once in a while to see his siblings then he wanted to take it.
Frostpaw looked to Duskpaw and once again copied her father’s smile as she spoke. “Yes.” She told him, lying but she knew that she had to hide it well. She looked back to Morningpaw as she spoke, now understanding why the she-cat had been so irritated this morning, it was all starting to make sense. “I don’t know if meeting every full moon would be possible, Aspenpaw, but I’m sure we will see each other again at some point.” She told the black tabby, feeling guilt for everything that was happening. She had to stay strong and steady now, there was no opportunity for weakness. Duskpaw needed her, or else he would have no one. She couldn’t trust Azreal, but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t hopeful that maybe the she-cat had some pure intentions. “What about Father?” She whispered, her father would not allow them to leave, she knew that. However she knew he would need some kind of closure. She felt guilt once again, why did this have to be so hard? She took a deep breath to calm herself, she had to be sure footed, even if she felt like she was crumbling on the inside.
