Sabrina shrugged as she cleaned herself, “I suppose.” She mewed and kept licking herself. What could they be so curious about? They just joined a group without knowing anything about it and now they want to ask her a bunch of questions.. Oh well, maybe she could fit in with them and become a better asset somewhere in the group.
Shadow looked over to her before Frost could say a word, “I have a question first, what’s up with Mara? She’s the cat that checked on us everyday,” he mewed curiously, and looking at Frost at the corner of his eye. She would for sure think that’s all he’s interested in, but it’s not. What if there was more to the story there that mattered? Either way he thought it was a good idea to ask.
Sabrina shook her head, “not much. I mean she’s just Henry’s daughter and that’s the only reason she ever gets the upper hand,” she scoffed in between licks. It was going to be like trivia, or twenty questions, whatever the game is. They were going to ask her a bunch of questions and once she asks them they won’t budge. “What else?”

Frost side-eyed her brother, a bit angry that he was so insistent on Mara. She was good for nothing after all. Just causing problems. When Sabrina revealed her heritage, Frost felt more justified in her assumptions. She glanced to her brother again, wanting to make sure that he was aware that Mara wasn’t a playful kitty pet. For all they knew, she could be feeding Henry information while playing dumb in front of them. Frost nodded, “I see…I’m sorry, I know that this must seem silly.” She apologized, feigning a look of guilt. “You see, Henry save me and was impressed with my brother’s skill. So we join in an odd fashion.” She explained, maybe that will help get rumours of Dusk’s skills flowing. Everyone would want to be on the good side of a cat that was scouted by their leader. She also felt this helped solidify her image of a poor sick cat that was unaware of how the world worked. “There’s two groups right? One stole some territory from this group- that’s what Brick told me. So what happened?” She asked, hoping that she could get more information on the status of Henry’s group, “Brick said it happened a really long time ago…should we be worried?”

Sabrina shrugged a bit as she thought back to the incident, “okay so..” she trailed off trying to find where she wanted to begin. “Yes there’s two groups, this one and the one that stole territory from us which happened moons and moons ago. But what they did is.. they killed one of our patrols, there were three of them and they killed them all. The thing is we were already outnumbered and after they killed them we were horribly outnumbered,” she explained to them seriously, hoping they were keeping up with what she was saying. She took a deep breath and thought for a moment, why were they so curious? But Sabrina focused her thoughts and finished what she wanted to say, “then once Henry realized how outnumbered we were he didn’t fight, because he has another plan, which he’s working on now. Gaining tough members that will make the group unbeatable, so that he can take the pier.”
Shadow listened closely, not wanting to miss a word. “So it is for territory, that makes sense,” he mewed and looked at Frost, trying to indicate that this plan would need to start going into place soon.
Sabrina looked at them curiously, “why are you so interested in knowing? The other cats are too flea brained to see what’s going on,” she mewed humorously.

Frost nodded as the she-cat spoke, putting together what she was saying, there were so many new words and terms that they were learning the past few days. When Sabrina asked why they were so curious, she flicked her ear, trying not to seem nervous, "well, it was just kind of weird for us to be asked to join. I can hardly hunt." She lied, then she motioned to her brother, "but that all makes sense to me. Shadow is so big and strong after all." She added in a cheery tone, a purr in her voice. She was feeling like her voice would strain from how pitched up she was making her voice- but she knew that her regular way of speak would not match how she was trying to act. She glanced to her brother, surely his tough act was bugging him as well. If only they could switch bodies, it would make everything so much easier for both of them, "you know a lot~" She purred to the calico.

Sabrina slightly nodded, not buying the she-cats reply but left it alone, it was none of her business. “I see,” she mewed and gave them a smile, “and being pushed around the way I have I’ve learned to observe, so I could probably tell you about any cat.” She scoffed, all of the cats thought she was a mouse brain and she liked it that way. She was just happy that she was getting along with another cat, she was never able to speak to anyone without them looking at her crazy.
Shadow returned Sabrina’s smile, trying to seem nice to her. His appearance would say different to a lot of others, but he saw himself as rather nice. Well besides the act he had been putting up, though it wasn’t hard it was demeaning. To think he would be compared to Henry or Brick made him shiver, he could never be so ruthless to take food from another cat. “You seem a lot different than the others,” he looked back to Sabrina, admiring the way she hadn’t let the group change her.
Sabrina rolled her eyes in a teasing matter, “I’ll take that as a compliment,” she mewed with a smile. She shifted awkwardly before speaking again, “you mentioned that Henry saved you, from what?” She mewed curiously, hopefully the two didn’t think they could ask her twenty questions without her also getting some information from them.

Frost frowned for a moment at her question, unsure of how to answer. On one paw(?), she didn't want her new fear of dogs to be used against her in the future, on the other paw(?), she wasn't sure what the group knew. If she lied about what happened, she could be quickly considered untrustworthy by the group if word were to spread. She glanced to her brother, unsure of what to say, the many outcomes flooding her mind. She was overwhelmed, but she did her best to hide it. Instinctively, she went to play with a pebble, dirt or rock at her paws, but there was nothing but the top of the crate. "Dogs." She eventually said, not looking at Sabrina. She stood and looked to Dusk, "let's go hunting again. I'm hungry." She told him, her normal tone slipping out. She jumped down from the crate and started walking, when she realized her mistake, she paused and turn to the calico. "Thank you Sabrina!" She called in her fake voice, turning back and walking towards the exit as soon as she could afterwards.

Sabrina shrugged as they left, not worrying about it. She stretched out onto the crate, grateful she could have her spot back.
Shadow dipped his head at Sabrina before they jumped down from the crates and chased after Frost. Once he caught her pace he let out a long sigh, “you shouldn’t worry about telling anyone what happened. But I don’t blame you,” he mewed honestly. He did everything to avoid talking about that day, and he’d be a liar if he denied the fact that the sound of dogs barking made the hair stand on his back. Shadow pressed his pelt against hers, “it’ll be okay, we’ll figure it out.” He promised her as they trotted down the sidewalk, heading back for the alleyway with the mice.

Frost shook her head, she glanced around to make sure no cat was close enough to hear them. She stepped closer to Duck, "if they know that I'm scared of dogs then what's going to stop the from using that?" She asked, her voice almost scolding him as she spoke. They didn't even have to use dogs to kill or hurt them. If a cat wanted to confront them, just having the confrontation be near dogs would put her and her brother at a disadvantage. She started walking again, her pace quicker than before, "I don't trust her." She muttered, referring to Sabrina, "using a low ranking cat is the perfect way to get to us." She hissed under her breath, her greenish blue eyes focused on what was in front of her. Sabrina would be the perfect cat to get them to relax, and maybe expose themselves. She had been too trusting.

Shadow rolled his eyes as they walked, they reached the alleyway and he turned to her. “I’m glad you don’t trust anyone, but having cats on our side might work for the best in the end,” he suggested to Frost, wanting her to know how important this could be. “Sabrina can’t be the only one mistreated, just think about it. If we don’t have any cats on our side, what if they turn against us after we.. you know,” he whispered trying to indicate he was speaking about killing Henry. If they were a loyal group of cats to Henry they wouldn’t take a second to rip Shadow’s pelt off.

The pale she-cat's ears pinned back for a moment before she sighed, "I know, but we need to be careful." She urged quietly, feeling unsure about their situation. "Promise me that you won't trust anyone except for me." She told him sternly. Looking at her brother for a moment before glancing back ahead of them, she knew that Dusk was smart, but he was more trusting than she was. "We don't know what cats are just acting. For all we know, the whole group could be acting as spies. You can be friendly with them- no we should- you're right about that; but we need to be cautious also."

Shadow nodded as if he had heard her say it too much, “I know, I know. I promise,” he smiled at her hoping that’s what she wanted to hear. As far as he knew all those cats were just like his mother, deceitful and manipulative. Regardless, they were going to need at least a few cats on their side. “We need to get this plan rolling,” he mewed to her seriously before turning around to hunt for some more mice.

Frost relaxed a little when he agreed with her; glad that her brother wasn't being flea-brained about this. They had to be careful, the situation with the mouse showed that. It wasn't just Henry being greedy, it was him proving that he had full control and that there was nothing they could do about it. He was wrong, if they were smart, they could flip his whole kingdom over-- but that depended on if he was arrogant or smart about how he ran things. She remained in thought while they walked. Opposed to hunting, she simply watched her brother, trying to think of how they could get their plan going quicker, "I'm going to start talking to Brick more." She warned him.

Shadow let out a small chuckle, “be my guest,” he called before fetching a few mice while Frost was thinking. After a few he trotted up to her with them dangling out of his mouth, dropping them onto the ground in front of her. He quickly grabbed one and slurped it down, barely chewing. “What am I to do when you're busy with Brick?” Shadow teased and gave her a smile, “I’m joking,” he reassured her. “You better eat.”

Frost pulled the mouse closer to her, "you will have to get a good reputation." She told him, taking as bite of the mouse. Like the egg she had the first day, it coated her mouth with the taste of the twoleg place. She had gotten more used to the taste again, but her mind still wandered to the taste of a fresh forest mouse. She continued eating for a while before speaking again, "if we get a good enough reputation, we may be able to sneak to the forest for some real mice." She told him, finishing off the mouse quickly. "Thank you for the mouse." She purred. She groomed herself for a moment, trying to think of what he could do to help improve how the group looked at him. "We should keep bringing prey back to the group. Give it to the outsiders in secret. You can just say that I asked you to. I am your soft hearted little sister after all." She sighed.

Shadow shrugged, thinking deeply about what she had just said, “but how? They only seemed interested in how well I can fight.” He rolled his eyes and dragged another mouse towards him, slurping it down like the first one. Finally he felt satisfied and began to clean his paws. “So what.. am I supposed to go make friends with Henry?” He mewed, putting a sarcastic emphasis in his tone. There was no way he wanted to do that but Frost always knew what to do. “And okay, I’ll catch a few more before we go back,” he promised her referring to the mice, they would surely like that. Henry didn’t deserve it though, how did all of these rogues listen to his mouse brain?

Frost shook her head, "you have to show that you are capable of more than fighting. Take Brick for example. He's as sneaky as a fox but you have to admit that he seems sharp. Same with Henry. You have to display that you aren't some flea-brain that is only good for your size." She told him, watching him as he hunted, her expression serious. "You have to prove that you are a cat that is to be respected; and I'll help with that." She told him. When he caught a decent amount of mice, she stood, offering to take some. "How about we do a test? We will pass these out to Mara and Sabrina to give out- we can say that we worry that the more nervous group members would be scared of us. We will follow them and see what they do with them." She suggested, feeling it was a good way to show were their loyalties lie.

Shadow grumbled and picked up a few mice and began walking back towards the alleyway the group stayed in. “I’m not saying a word to Mara,” he huffed, “I’ll do whatever else,” he added. Not wanting to sound like he’s just being lazy, he really didn’t want to talk to Mara. Let alone, would she even talk to him? Regardless he didn’t want to find out, but Sabrina was friendly so he didn’t mind giving mice to her. “I like Sabrina, I’ll give her some mice,” he mewed with a smile, hoping to make up for avoiding Mara. He only felt bad because he knew his sister didn’t like her, at all, and now she’ll probably be the one to hand her some mice. But with Mara’s father being Henry, Shadow didn’t doubt for a second that she’d either keep them for herself or give them to her father or Brick.

"Oh, I thought you would be hopping like a frog at the chance to talk to M-A-R-A." Frost teased through the mice her held in her mouth, a small smirk visible on her face. She was rather surprised, she had expected the tom to be excited to have an excuse to talk to the black and white she-cat. To be perfectly honest, she was somewhat relieved about it. Maybe he will end his obsession with her. "She won't accept mice from me, so we just can't test her then." She responded, feeling that Mara would be a fool to trust her after all of their interactions. Sabrina, however, she was fine with testing. It may be easier for both of them to trail the calico anyways opposed to just one of them. If she were to jump up onto a twoleg nest, Frost was more than happy to have her brother follow her instead. "We will try it with just Sabrina then. We will see what happens. If any cat tried to mess with her, you have to be ready to step in and defend her."

Shadow shouldered Frost playfully, “oh stop it! I’m not gonna chase my own tail,” he mewed, referring to Mara, putting his nose in the air as if he was going to ignore everything else she said. But he gave her attention again and nodded as she spoke, “of course, I won’t let anyone push her around,” he teased lightly but felt serious. He wasn’t going to let the calico she-cat get into anything because of him and his sister. As they approached the alleyway he glanced over to Frost, “let’s just go straight to Sabrina, maybe she’ll be in the corner from earlier,” he suggested.

Frost nodded, agreeing that the she-cat seemed to have been very comfortable at that spot. She trotted back with the mice she held, keeping an eye out for any cats that may be trying to cause trouble. Whether it was because of Dusk's size or the special treatment that Henry had given her, no cats walked up. Some glanced over and glared, but there was no indication that any of them were planning to harass the siblings. "We can say that this is also to say sorry for storming off, whatever we can say to make her comfortable." She whispered, wanting to use anything she can to make their goals a reality. Part of her felt guilty, she could tell that her brother genuinely wanted to be friendly with the she-cat, but to be honest, Frost was just seeing her as a means to an end. She urged away those thoughts, she was doing this to make Dusk's life better. She promised her father that she would protect him, and that was what she intended to do.

Shadow shrugged, “okay,” he mewed to Frost as they entered the alleyway. He made his way over to the crates in the corner without an issue, no cats bugging them or in fact staring for once. Once he got to the crates he noticed Sabrina was where they left her, he jumped up onto the crates and dropped a few mice in front of her, “sorry for storming off earlier.” He mewed and gave her a smile, the she-cat was sweet and didn’t deserve the treatment they gave her earlier. But he quickly changed his expression and sat down, giving Frost enough room to jump onto the crates.
Sabrina looked up at Shadow shocked, his voice seemed much softer than his appearance. “Thank you..” she mewed and looked down at the mice, all of them nice and plump for being mice. She knew she couldn’t eat them all, but she didn’t want to be rude and get up and leave right away. “Oh and it’s fine,” she mewed, forgetting that he apologized for earlier. She didn’t mind, that wasn’t the worst treatment she’s been given. “I’ll give a few of these to the others that sleep in my den. Of course if you both have already ate.”

(Sorry this took so long) Frost jumped up to be beside her brother, the mice still dangling from her mouth for a moment before she placed them down as well, "still, I'm sorry. That was rude of me." She said apologetically, though she studied the calico's face when the she-cat mentioned handing out the mice- it seemed to good to be true. She glanced to Duck, surely he didn't ask her about in the split second before Frost had joined them on the crate, maybe Sabrina was just good at heart. Still, she didn't let her cautionary skepticism go. She didn't want to be burned again just because she was being too trusting. "I'm glad to hear that." She purred, looking back at Sabrina with a smile. "I think everyone would be too scared to accept any from us since we are strangers." She then explained.

Sabrina laughed a bit, “they might be,” she joked and grabbed the mice. She stood and looked at the two before jumping down, “thank you,” she mewed kindly and jumped down fro, the crates. A few cats she spoke two stayed in the den a lot, they were always mistreated when they left the den. She felt bad for them, but it wasn’t like there was anything she could do besides take them prey. Which made her wonder why the newcomers would bring her prey, and this much at that.
Shadow dipped his head at Sabrina as she thanked them and watched her walk away, “see, she’s kind,” he mewed and nudged Frost. Not that it mattered, but their silly test on her worked out in their way. The calico she-cat didn’t deserve this life, which meant a lot of them didn’t. Their plan would work perfectly if Shadow would be able to find a good place in the group where the higher ups like him, he didn’t know how he’d do it but he’d have to figure it out before Frost gets frustrated with him.

Frost watched the calico walk away. It wasn’t until the she-cat was out of sight that she turned to talk to her brother, “we’ll see.” She said, still not completely sure about the she-cat. Frost stood up and jumped down, “let’s find out, I’ll follow from the ground if you want to follow from higher up.” She said quietly to the black tom, starting to follow Sabrina a decent distance away. The good thing about their time in the clan was that they were better at trailing cats than most of the group. So far she hadn’t find any cat that was better. She found a spot where there wouldn’t draw attention, watching Sabrina. She took a moment to locate her brother, wanting to make sure he was at a location that would allow him to defend Sabrina if needed.

(Just named some random names for the cats lol)
Sabrina trotted over to the dens quickly, hoping not to be noticed by anybody. Any of the higher ups would rip the prey from her, and the cats in the den were probably starving. Once she entered the den she found two cats who were older than her, Twix and Ivy. “I brought you both some mice,” Sabrina mewed and set them near them.
“Well thank you, better take one for yourself,” Twix mewed softly and pushed one of the mice back towards Sabrina.
“Of course,” she mewed and picked up the mouse, backing out of the den into the open. But with her luck Bruno came up about a whisker length away from her, “sharing food? Who can’t hunt for themselves?” He snarled, but Sabrina rolled her eyes, in an attempt to take long enough for the cats in the den to finish their food.
Shadow nodded at Frost and stood up, he looked for an easy way onto the roof but he was able to easily jump onto it from the crates. He followed Sabrina from the rooftop and watched her disappear into the den, he was worried someone would mess with her. As soon as he was thinking about it, a gray and white cat showed up in front of Sabrina once she came out into the open.

Frost narrowed her eyes as she watched the calico disappear into the crate, but when the she-cat emerged with fewer mice, her gaze softened. Her ears pinned back when she saw a tom approach. She hadn't expected that Sabrina would be targeted so soon. Frost was also caught off guard when Sabrina stood her ground instead of leaving. She was clearly trying to give her den mates time to finish their meal. She glanced up to where Dusk should be, but he was not yet at a location that was close enough to intervene in a timely manner. She couldn't just ignore this, it was her plan that had made Sabrina a target in the first place. Sighing, she quickly made her way over, smoothing pushing herself between the two cats, "Ah Sabrina, there you are!" She purred, ignoring the tom, "I was looking everywhere for you! I wanted to ask you more about the twoleg place." She added, casually, hoping that maybe the cat would back off once he realized that Sabrina wasn't alone. If he didn't though, she was more than happy to show that she wasn't as weak as she seemed.

Sabrina lightly jumped when Frost approached, surprised that the she-cat had her back. She gave her a smile, “yeah of course! Looks like I better go,” she mewed bluntly and looked at Bruno with a serious expression. She felt much better with someone having her back, she didn’t have to constantly stand down to these cats who think their superior.
Bruno scoffed, “Not so fast,” he growled and ripped the mouse from Sabrina, giving her a low growl as he stayed close in her face.
Sabrina wanted to snatch the mouse back but she held her urge back and learned in closer to him, their noses now a whisker apart, “it’s okay, I know you can’t hunt for yourself.” She mewed bluntly, she didn’t want the tom to fight with the small she-cat next to her. There was no way she’d be able to defend her self.
Bruno let out another deep growl at Sabrina’s ignorant comment, ready to slap her across her muzzle, but instead he leaned over to Frost, “you want to know more about the two-leg place?” He growled and lightly swiped her across the muzzle, just enough to make her drip blood.

Frost blinked at the sensation of claws on her muzzle, more caught off guard then truly hurt. He had gotten worse wounds from playing with her siblings and training. She used her paw to clean her face before looking at the tom, giving him a look of superiority. He was nothing that she felt she had to worry about. Her hunting skills were always poor compared to her brother's but in her opinion, she was far better at fight- though part of that was because he was too empathetic. "I do, maybe you can answer my question." She purred with a smile, though she still held her cold stare. She couldn't handle cats like him, undignified bullies with nothing of worth. "Do all the toms here fight like kitty-pets? Or is it just you?" She asked, tilting her head as if she asked an innocent question. She was ready, daring him to try to strike her again.

Bruno dropped the mouse and took a step closer to Frost, the she-cat was small and didn’t know who she was picking a fight with. “I guess you’ll find out,” he mewed before jumped at the she-cat, ready to teach the flea brain a lesson.
Shadow watched the silver and white tom jump at Frost, panic rushing through him he quickly scrambled down from the rooftop. As he felt panicked and not quick enough he slipped on one of the crates, causing him to tumble down the stack of crates. Once he hit the group he struggled to get up, refocusing his gaze on his sister and the tom.

(It's all good, you're always writing for two or more characters lol)
Frost watched the tom closer, he was so unrefined when compared to the cats of Isletclan. She was able to dodge his strike easily, slipping between his forelegs and coming out on his left side. Without hesitation, she bite down hard on his hindleg before stepping away quickly. She reminded herself that she couldn't fully fight him, or she would become the cat that everyone would stare at. As smart as Dusk was, she knew that he would not be able to be the one who gathers information, he was too trusting and kind.
