Sabrina watched in shock, the small she-cat could clearly fight fine. But she shook the surprise away and prepared herself to jump onto Bruno, there was no this fleabag could fight a cat three times smaller than him. When she prepared to jump she noticed Shadow running over, it took him long enough.
Once Shadow refocused his gaze he broke into a run to Frost, knocking Bruno to the ground easily. He stood over the tom and snarled in his face, “oh you don’t want to fight someone your own size? Huh?” He growled angrily as he looked at the tom on the ground. Anger pulsing through his body as he watched the flea rain stare at him dumb. He stepped away from the tom when he didn’t say anything and watched him get up and walk away with a growl in his throat. When the tom was far enough he looked at his sister, “what were you thinking?” He mewed strictly in a whisper, he wouldn’t believe that she almost had fought the tom.
Sabrina let out a giggle, “well you were too busy falling down the crates,” she mewed teasingly, pointing out that she has seen the whole ridiculous thing.

"I got upset." Frost explained with a flat tone, clearly not seeing what she did as bad, besides almost ruining their plan. She looked at her brother then to Sabrina taking a second to inspect the she-cat before looking back to Shadow. "She's fine." She added, again her tone flat- though this was partly because she was embarrassed by her previous accusations towards Sabrina. The she-cat was about to join her in the fight instead of running away, it was admirable, and something that showed a lot in regard to her character. Still could still not be fully trusted, but at least they know now that she wasn't cold hearted. After a moment, she gave her brother a small smirk, "don't you want to fight someone your own size" She quoted, mocking his voice with a teasing tone.

Shadow glared at Frost, “well it’s true, you’re the size of a kit!” He teased her and gave her a smile. “You did the right thing,” he mewed. He was always proud of the way his sister was, she was smart and knew how to handle things. He always wished he had that quality to him, but many just saw him as a cat who could fight. Anyways, it didn’t bother him. It kept a lot of cats away from him, which Frost especially liked.
Sabrina laughed at Frosts comment as she teased her brother, the two of them were playful and protective of each other. She almost wished that’s the way she and her sister were, but they weren’t and it didn’t bother her as nearly as much as it should’ve. She picked up the mouse that Bruno had clearly forgotten about and made her way to the corner crates to enjoy it.

Frost's tail puffed up at his comment, "I am not." She said sternly, turning her nose to him. She watched Sabrina walk away with the mouse, surprised that the she-cat was so quick to recover; but then again, you would have to be here. Things like this happened all of the time after all. She looked back to Dusk, "another in." She whispered, a proud look on her face, she was feeling glad that they were making progress.

Shadow smiled, “I guess so,” he mewed with a shrug, who knows what kind of ties the gray and white cat has in this group. He could get the others to fight Shadow, but he pushed the thoughts away because they didn’t matter. He padded towards the crates that Sabrina went to and he looked behind him to Frost, observing her small figure for a moment. Worry filled his mind as she looked at her, what would happen to her if something happened to him? The thoughts were compulsive and he tried to push them away as he turned back and jumped onto the crates. He laid down and put his head on his paws, taking a moment to lay and think.

Frost took one last glance around to be sure that tom wasn’t going to return. When she felt that it was safe, she followed her brother, curling up beside him, though she kept herself alert. The day was still young, but it would be best for them to lay low for a while after what happened. Part of her wanted to go investigate the other group that Henry was determined to beat, but she was sure doing so would raise questions. She would just have to wait and hope that she would be able to gather information passively.
—
Aspenheart trotted into camp with two fish dangling in his mouth by their tails, his head held high. He had been able to chase the fish into the shallows, allow him to pull them into shore with relative ease. The dark tabby gingerly placed them with the rest of the fresh kill, admiring the size and variety of the pile. The clan had been doing well in regards to prey. The forest and waters were teeming with life. He glanced around the camp, looking to see if anyone of interest was laying around.

Sabrina looked over to Frost, “hey thanks for stepping in, no one else would ever do that,” she thanked her and gave her a smile. It really had surprised her that the small she-cat was willing to get in a fight for her, which she had just met the same day.
——
Morningstream poked her head of the medicine den searching for her brother or even her father, she had been busy with her work but she was finally done stocking and organizing all of her herbs. Once she noticed Aspenheart near the freshkill pile she sprung up and trotted towards him, “how was your hunting?” She asked him intently and looked down at the fish that he seemed to have set down.

The pale she-cat’s ears perked up whenever Sabrina showed up again, she could tell that she had been surprised when Frost had stood up for her sake; but Frost had been hoping that she would’ve simply dismissed it, “it wasn’t a problem. It was our fault in the first place, after all, we gave you the mouse.” She told her, then she motioned to her brother, “I knew Shadow would be right behind me anyways, so I wasn’t too worried.” She added, hoping that would have excused her boldness.
—
Aspenheart turned and smiled at Morningstream, giving a purr to greet her. “Oh hey,” he mewed happily, “it went great, they practically swam into my paws!” He told her with his usual amount of enthusiasm, clearly proud that she had noticed his catch. The dark tabby glanced around, “have you seen Redclaw today?” He asked tilting his head, he felt like he had hardly gotten the chance to speak to his friend since they had become warriors, patrols often keeping them apart.

Sabrina shrugged, “still, I appreciate it.” She mewed with a smile and trotted out of the alleyway, she wanted to get away from everything for a few. They were being surprisingly nice, and she felt as though to keep her distance unless they come to her.
——
Morningstream nodded slowly and looked to the ground, Aspenheart was already distant and ever since everything with their siblings he had been even more distant. Avoiding her when she tried to initiate conversation, but she understood. She was slightly upset but tried to shrug it off, “uh yea, he’s probably in the warriors den. He got a bee sting earlier,” she mewed before turning towards the medicine den avoiding his eye contact, at this point she just wanted to be alone like she usually was.

Frost nodded and watched the cat leave, relaxing slightly when she disappeared. She looked at Dusked and sighed before she rested her head on her paws, deciding to keep watch.
—
Aspenheart opened his mouth to say something but then closed it as he watched the she-cat walk away. He released a sigh and pawed at the ground for a moment. Everything had become so awkward since that night, but it wasn’t like he was purposely ignoring her. Whenever he wasn’t doing his duties, he was bush training. He needed to get stronger to catch up with his siblings. They all seemed to have a path before them, but he was sitting idle while he watched from afar. He turned away and walked past the warrior’s den, deciding that he could go hunt a little more if Redclaw couldn’t train with him.
—
Owlwing was outside of the medicine cat den, his ear flicked when he saw Morningstream approach, “why are you two fighting?” He asked flatly, walking as Aspenheart walked away towards the camp entrance. He had known these kits since they were born, but he had never seen them fight like this; it was especially odd for Morningstream. She was usually the least confrontational of the bunch. He looked at his former apprentice and tilted his head, “it’s unlike you both to be so tense with each other.” He added.

Redclaw was awake in his nest watching out of the den, when he saw Aspenheart he jumped out of the den in front of him. “Hey,” he mewed to him, excited to see him. They didn’t get to hang out often but he enjoyed the slightest conversations with his best friend. “How’s your hunting been?” He asked the tom.
——
Morningstream put her ears back at Owlwing’s question, she sat down and sighed, “well, that night of the gathering Aspenheart and I met them. It went the other way quickly because of Frostpaw’s injury,” she whispered to him, no one could know anything of this besides them. Even if Owlwing got upset he should’ve already known, since her and Aspenheart got back to the clan late together. Regardless, she trusted Owlwing, he was honest to her and she felt like he trusted her too.

Aspenheart jumped when he saw Redclaw, “I thought you got stung by a bee. We’re you just trying to get out of going on patrol?” He asked with a teasing tone, a purr to his voice. He was still worried about Morningstream, but he felt there was little he could do. He was just trying to be better, why should she be mad about that? He smiled at his friend, “it went well, caught two huge fish!” He told him eagerly, a goody grin on his face. “If you feel okay, do you wanna go train for a bit?”
—
Owlwing signed, he knew this was going to happen but he hadn’t expected them to be so dramatic about it, “the whole clan will find out if you two keep fighting.” He pointed up, standing up and walking into their den, motioning with his tail for her to follow. “Aspenheart has always been sensitive, even when you were kits, so I’m not surprised that he got upset when he realized how out of the loop he was.” He explained quietly, relatively unconcerned but still, if needed to be fixed. It would only be a matter of time before their father decided get involved.

Redclaw nudged Aspenheart towards the entrance of the clan, “sure let’s go! I got a bee sting this morning but it feels fine,” he mewed and began padding out of the clan. He looked to Aspeneheart to see if he was following, and which he was but he seemed in a mood. “You alright?” Redclaw asked him curiously, hoping everything was okay with him.
——
Morningstream followed Owlwing into the medicine den as he directed, she sat near the medicine den and looked at him as he spoke. “We’re not really fighting, he’s just avoiding me now.” She mewed with a bit of hurt in her tone, she just wished that her brother could understand why she did everything the way she did. “I’m trying not to make everything so.. tense, but he just keep pushes me away. And I would leave it alone but then it would look weird if we didn’t talk at all.” Morningstream sighed.

Aspenheart nodded and followed Redclaw, still think about Morningstream. When his friend asked him a question, he stopped walking, taking a moment to process what he had said. “Uh, yeah. I’m fine.” He eventually told him, pushing past him, “come on, let’s go.” He purred, urging his friend to hurry up as he started to walk across the walking stones towards the mainland. The tom took a deep breath, he couldn’t let this distract him, he had to focus on his training.
—
“Well, did you two ever actually sit down and talk about it afterwards?” He asked, starting to put together a mixture of herbs for one of the elders while he spoke. “Aspenheart is bull headed, but he will listen after calming down. I bet that you ended up crying so he probably feels too awkward to confront you about lying to him; you will probably need to go to him about it.” He said, not looking up from his task. He knew these kits well and to be honest, none of them were good at dealing with conflict when it came to each other. He was a little concerned that they were all too co-dependant. Owlwing couldn’t help but blame their mother, they practically raised themselves when him or Briarshine weren’t keeping an eye on them. He wondered if that was Azreal’s way of punishing Silvermist for staying loyal to his clan. “It’s normal for siblings to fight. Well, most siblings; you four never did, even when you were kits.”

Redclaw kept Aspenhearts pace, he could tell he wasn’t fine but if the tom wanted to hide his feelings that was fine. “Are you trying to do battle training?” He asked Aspenheart, even though he assumed that’s what they would be training but he wanted to start conversation.
——
Morningstream shrugged. “I guess we haven’t really talked it out. And I think that’s why it’s so hard, I’m not used to fighting with them. Even when Frostpaw and Duskpaw left I wasn’t mad,” she explained to Owlwing. All of his points were valid and she couldn’t think of a reason to why she hasn’t talked it out with Aslenheart, but could he really be that mad still? It just didn’t make sense, but she didn’t understand the emotion of anger, except that once with Azreal. “I’ll try to talk it out with him so it doesn’t grow any suspicion.” She mewed, knowing that’s probably what he wanted to hear.

Aspenheart nodded, “of course!” He said with a cheery tone, heading towards the training spot, “I want to get my dodges right, you’re so fast that I always mess up.” He added, turning his head to look at Redclaw as he spoke. He remembered that for a while, he had avoided the raining area, it always reminded him of when Duskpaw and Frostpaw left the clan. Now though, he found himself there often. He wanted to bring them home, they were clan cats after all, a clan is where they belonged. To do that though, he had to get stronger and do better.
—
Owlwing nodded and stayed quiet for a while, concentrating on his work. After a few minutes, he spoke again, “when I die and you take my position as the clan’s medicine cat, you will need to deal with conflict. Even if some of that conflict may involve your loved ones.” He told her, his tone was stern but held a gentleness to it. Right now she was a named medicine cat, but he still held the power of the position, part of him feared what will happen when that power is in her hands. He wouldn’t be surprised if Aspenheart or Redclaw become leader one day, but would Morningstream be able to stand up to them if needed. “You need to remember that you must treat each cat equally, regardless of your relationship to them. Sometimes you have to save the cat you hate or let go of the cat you love.”

Redclaw smiled at Aspenhearts enthusiasm, glad to see him getting back to himself. “Wanna race there?” He mewed playfully and nudged the tom a bit, he always found himself acting like a kit but he didn’t care. After watching Frostpaw and Duskpaw leave he silently promised to himself that he wouldn’t take life so seriously anymore, because anything can change in less than a day.
——
Morningstream slowly nodded as Owlwing spoke, listening to each and every word. “Understood,” she mewed unenthusiastically. She didn’t have any other words, there was nothing she wanted to say. Or was there? She shuffled awkwardly on her paws as she looked down, “besides all of this, which I understand.” She mewed awkwardly, not wanting him to think she’s disregarding all of his words, “I think the reason is because he believes that he can bring them back to the clan,” she mewed honestly, which she was almost sure that’s why they were fighting. Everything was a factor, she had to keep everything from Aspenheart, but they both bumped heads when it came to bringing them back to the clan.

Aspenheart grinned widely, "oh, you're on!" He said with a gleeful tone, nudging his freind back. "Ready?" He asked, tensing himself up, "one, two...go!" He mewed, rushing ahead before Redclaw got the chance to start. He ran ahead as quickly as he could, taking a chance to glance behind to the dark coloured tom. "Come on! You're slower than a fish out of water!" He called in a teasing way, a large smile on his face as he ran through the over growth. It had been moons since he had last ran around like this, it made him feel happy and alive. He could see the clearing in site, making him run even fasting for a short moment, a determined gleam in his icy blue eyes. He took a second to turn back and gloat to Redclaw, "I'm almost there!" He purred loudly, turning his attention back to the goal.
Owlwing couldn't contain a small laugh, "oh, I know he does." He told her, gathering the mixture into a neat bundle, wrapping it with laurel leaves, "he will try everything he can to get them to come home." He added, picking up the bundle in his mouth as he walked towards her, "they don't belong here, not anymore. If they want to become clan cats again, it will not be with Isletclan. You have to come to terms with that as well. You can't protect them, not anymore." He told him, a bit of a far off look in his eyes as he spoke. He was sure that this was what Starclan wanted. What Morningstream saw all of those years ago were not warnings to prevent anything, they were simply hints as to what were coming. He could feel it whenever he looked at Frostpaw and Duskpaw. Isletclan was not where they belonged. Not anymore. "I have to go see the elders, I've already gathered herbs for today. Finish storing them when you have the chance." He told her through the bundle he held in his jaws, disappearing to the clearing after giving her a small nod.

Redclaw scoffed when Aspenheart had run on three ans not after three. But he broke into a run as quickly as he could, chasing the tom in front of him. He wanted to roll his eyes and tackle Aspenheart as he looked back and teased him. Redclaw tried to speed up but Aspenheart was so quick on his feet he felt like he couldn’t catch up. Once they were getting close to the clearing he dived forward, hoping to reach the clearing quicker, but he landed right when Aspenheart reached the clearing too. He got up and shook himself off, “it was a tie,” he mewed in a serious, but joking matter.
——
Morningstream dipped her head at Owlwing as he left, not saying a word. She began to store the herbs, it wasn’t like there was anything else for her to do. She thought about what Owlwing had said, she was able to easily accept that Frostpaw and Duskpaw weren’t meant to be in IsletClan. That’s why she couldn’t comprehend why Aspenheart wasn’t so accepting, but maybe that was part of the character of a medicine cat. Whatever the reason being she had to somehow talk to Aspenheart about everything, it wasn’t like them to stay so strayed apart.

Aspenheart shook his head, "no way!" He argued, turning to his friend, "maybe if you're blind." He added, taking the chance to paw at his friend. "Anyways, let's get started... or is poor Redclaw too tired now?" He teased, his tail flicking as he leaned into his friend, feigning tiredness. He soon laughed and gave Redclaw a nudge, "is there anything you want to train? Like I said, it's rolls and dodging for me but we have plenty of time to do other stuff if you want." He purred, taking a moment to look around the training area. He was bit surprised that there was no one else here, but he guess with no apprentice for the first time in a while, it was bound to be pretty empty. "Hey, don't you think it's kind of weird that we don't have any apprentice, I remember there being a ton when we were still in the nursery." He said absent mindedly. "What if we end up never getting apprentices because of that?!"

Redclaw shrugged as he trotted around the clearing, “we can practice whatever,” he mewed, he was always laid back when it came to a lot of things. He stopped walking and looked up into the trees, thinking about Aspenhearts comment about apprentices. “That would suck, someone’s going to have to have kits, but who?” He mewed sarcastically, it was great that Brairshine had her kits, but hopefully there would be more kits this green leaf. “I haven’t seen much romance,” he joked and looked around the clearing. It was strange that there were no apprentices, there have been apprentices since he was a kit. “My mother probably won’t have any more kits, considering…” he trailed off, knowing Aspenheart knew what he was talking about. Let alone did her mate leave her, then her other kit didn’t make it.

Aspenheart sighed, "I know! Where are all the pretty she-cats?" He grumbled, hitting a lonely pebble with his forepaw as he spoke. "I'm practically her kit in a way!" He said quickly, not wanting Redclaw to feel upset. "Besides, neither is my father. Not that I would want him to anyways. He has terrible taste." He added, nudging Redclaw as he spoke, "if only they were together, then we could have been real brothers!" He purred loudly, his tail causing dirt to rise up like a cloud as it swished around. He would have liked that a lot; after all, Redclaw was raised as if they were siblings, even Frostpaw would sometimes treat him like a brother when she wasn't paying attention. "I mean, then Frostpaw and Duskpaw would have stayed, and we could just be a happy family. No Azreal or Foxspots to ruin it."

Redclaw giggled at Aspenheart, “I think all the pretty she-cats are in ForestClan,” he joked. He then thought for a moment on everything else he had said, everything would have been too perfect if it were that way. Why did it seem like no clan cats life was so complicated? Did they not tell anycat or were their lives just perfect? He just couldn’t understand why everything was complicated, things would work out in some way. Redclaw shrugged, “I don’t know, but that would have been amazing. I wonder why they weren’t mates, they always play like kits together.” He explained, referring to Silvermist and his mother, who had always seemed to get along well. If it were that way everything would be so simple, it wouldn’t be this or that it would just be.

"Yeah but they all smell like mildew and hate swimming. No fun in that." He pointed out. He tilted his head as Redclaw pointed out how Quietstorm and Silvermist seemed so close, "I don't know. Maybe Father was seeing Azreal? I don't even know how they met. We were always told she was a clan cat." He told his friend, taking a chance to sit down as he spoke. It was hard to think about it sometimes, but part of him wanted to know more. "I don't really know much about any of their relationship. They weren't mates when we were younger." He thought for a moment, "I don't remember your Father either, I've just heard stories."

Redclaw rolled his eyes and giggled, “I guess they do kind of smell like mildew..” he trailed off. He then shrugged thinking back to Quietstorm and Silvermist, “that’s true, but who knows. And I don’t feel like asking,” he replied to Aspenheart, he felt like it was too touchy of a subject for both of their parents. “I feel bad for both of them, everything’s so messed up.. and Quietstorm acts like nothing wrong has ever happened,” he admitted to Aspenheart. It had never bothered him quite as much as it did now, so many things had gone wrong and she wouldn’t shed a tear, or get angry. Redclaw felt like he couldn’t contain his emotions at time, something he must’ve gotten from his father. Who ever knows what happened to him..

"Yeah, me neither." He responded, shaking his head. He could tell that Silvermist would never actually tell him the truth. Owlwing would, but it would be blunt and he didn't think he could handle it. "Well, what's in the past is in the past. Nothing we can really do now." He said dismissively, standing up. "We should probably start training. If we keep talking then we will have no daylight left." He said with a small laugh, not wanting to drag the mood down anymore than it already had been. He walked back to Redclaw and urged the tortoiseshell tom to the clearing. "Come on, let's go!" He said with a purr, a cheery grin on his face.

Redclaw jumped up, “you’re right, let’s train!” He mewed excitedly and faced him. He prepared himself to pounce at Aspenheart, waiting for the perfect time. Since Aspenheart wanted to practice dodging Redclaw pounced at him. Aiming for his chest to hopefully pin him down.

Air escaped Aspenheart's lungs when he landed with a thud, he then released a laugh and grabbed onto Redclaw, "I wasn't ready you cheater!" He purred loudly, rolling them over. In the end, it was more like playing than it was training, but nonetheless, Aspenheart was glad he was able to get the issue regarding his siblings out of his mind.
Time skip---
Frost woke up before Dusk, she glanced over his sleeping form. He seemed to grow bigger and bigger everyday, she couldn't help but wonder how he would look when his leafbare coat came in. She made her way out of the crate and glanced around, hoping to find Sabrina. She had been curious about the calcio since what happened a few days ago, but the she-cat was no where in sight. She jumped slightly when she heard a voice call for her. She turned her head to see Brick up on the twoleg nest, making his way down into the alley.
"Good morning." He greeted through a pigeon that he held in his jaws.
Frost nodded, back, having to focus to changer her posture. She found it easier and easier to walk and talk similar to Morningstream- happy go luckily and friendly, unlike herself. Of course unlike the character she played, Morningstream was intelligent, but that wouldn't work for what she was doing. "Oh, Good morning Brick! You scared me. I keep forgetting that cats sit all the way up there sometimes."
Brick nodded, placing the bird down, "you can share this with your brother." He told her his ears pinning back when he noticed hungry eyes glancing at his catch. He shot them a glare and many either looked away or left. Useless, all of them.. "Eat your share and I'll protect you." He told her, sitting down, "now. I don't have all day." He added with annoyance in his voice.
Frost contained a hiss and quickly ate some of the bird. Just like everything else, it tasted like the black clouds that the monsters made and twoleg crow food. She swallowed hard, "thank you."
Brick nodded, "do you think that Shadow can truly protect you?"
"Of course!"
Brick flicked his tail and nodded, "so he can fight and hunt. I see." He stood up, "tell him to pull his weight more then." He snapped, taking the remaining pigeon, "he can get his own." He added before abruptly leaving, his tail swicshing with anger. What is Shadow's game here? A fighter and a hunter? I don't believe it. Not for a second. He glanced around. Everywhere he went, all he could hear were cats talking about the mysterious black tom. He was a nobody a few days ago, but now every cat and their kit knew about him.

(Sorry I took so long to reply, was out of town for the day.)
Shadow woke up from hearing the chatter of cats, who one of them sounded like his sister. He opened his eyes to see Frost talking to Brick, he wanted to roll his eyes but he laid back in his nest, waiting for the tom to leave. Once he was gone Shadow stood and stretched out his legs, “good morning sister,” he mewed to Frost. “Everything okay?” He asked her seriously and watched her expression, hoping that her encounter with Brick was at least pleasant. Even though they had a solid plan he still didn’t like the idea of Brick being so close to Frost, what if he hurt her? Shadow pushed the impulsive thoughts away and focused his attention on Frost.
——
Morningstream exited the medicine den, taking a deep breath of the crisp morning air. It had been a few days since her talk with Owlwing, which has given her plenty of time to think. She was going to wait for Aspenheart to come back from morning patrol and hopefully get them to talk alone, maybe by the two-leg bridge. If only she was able to talk to her father about it, he always listened to her and listened rather than react. But with this, no one else could know, not even her father. It had even been harder that Aspenheart always takes the hit for being left out, yet she doesn’t have anycat to lean on anymore. She knew she’d have to get used to it, being a medicine cat and all.

( I was too, no worries!)
Frost watched as Brick walked away, turning her attention to Dusk when he called her, "good morning." She greeted, looking back at where Brick had gone. She could feel eyes on her, making her swallow hard. It wasn't even making her nervous at this point, it was just inconvient. She always had to act and talk in a certain way. She turned her attention back toe Dusk, "yes, I'm fine." She told him quickly, her voice quiet, almost a whisper. She stood up and stretched, "let's go for a walk, we can get you something to eat." She told him, nudging him to urge the black tom to start moving. She wanted to update him on what happened, but she knew that Brick had eyes and ears throughout the whole alley, she had to be careful. One paw step in the wrong direction could cause their whole plan to fall apart and possibly get them killed.

Aspenheart was talking to Shadowtail as they returned to camp; the black and white tom was still eager to tell Aspenheart stories and tales, despite having his own kits to do so. Of course, unlike when he was younger, Aspenheart was able to poke holes in Shadowtail's stories.
"I swear on Starclan that the Fox was huge, bigger than the twoleg half-bridge!" Shadowtail insisted, a grin on his face.
"Yeah, and my tail's a mouse!" Aspenheart retorted, nudging the black and white cat as they entered the camp. The two cats laughed loudly, clearly having a good time. Across the clearly, Briarshine could be seen, the kits mewing inside the nursery.
Shadowtail's ears perked up, "have a good day." He purred to Aspenheart, racing over to Briarshine with his tail held high, entering the nursery after giving the ginger she-cat a loving nudge.
