Duskpaw nodded in agreement to his sisters words and looked around behind him again, “it’s very strange, but the view,” he mewed and looked back at the water. It was amazing to him, but how familiar it felt made him uneasy. He felt his stomach turn and he glanced back to Frostpaw, “we better go so we make good time to the gathering..” He trailed off and turned around towards the abandoned camp, at least that’s it had to be. There was a rock on the side that was rather tall, but high enough to comfortably jump onto. Duskpaw began to walk quickly the direction they came, hoping the uneasy feeling would go away once they were far enough. He didn’t understand how everything was so familiar and how has he seen it in his dreams? He didn’t want to freak Frostpaw out with his weird dreams and feelings and decided to keep quiet while he walked, but quickly stopped and looked back to see if she was following him.

Frost gave her brother a worried glance, she had been expecting him to be looking around, poking fun at her for being wrong about the clan. As they walked through the clearing, she looked around, the scent of dirt and mildew clung to this place. "It's probably just an abandoned rogue nest." She said as she continued to look around, keeping up with Duskpaw's hurried pace. The she-cat grew quiet however, noting that her brother didn't seem like he was in the mood at the time. When he looked back to her, she gave him a reassuring smile. "Let's get going; the gathering isn't going to wait for us." She told him in an attempt to improve his mood. There was a lot happening to them right now, and part of her thought that maybe the site of the open water also reminded him of home. Seeing their sister and brother would certainly help with that.

Duskpaw kept his focus forward once Frostpaw was following him, “that’s for sure!” He replied happily as they trotted away from the odd camp area. The uneasy feeling had gone away and all he could feel was the excitement to see his siblings. Once they reached the bottom of the hill he stopped and looked back at Frostpaw and waited for her to be by his side before continuing. “We’re close!” He mewed excitedly, “but we must find Rosemary or something,” he added remembering what she had said earlier. He kept his pace and looked around, tasting the air for rosemary or lavender. “Ooh there’s some!” Duskpaw mewed after the strong scent of rosemary filled his nostrils, he trotted over to a patch of rosemary.

The pale she-cat retained her strained smile until Duskpaw looked away again, a concerned expression appearing on her face instead. She was sure that he was once again regretting that he had left the clan, and feeling intense guilt that she had decided to go with him. She didn't say anything for a while, deciding it was best to not ruin the excitement by bringing up the past. What's done is done, there was nothing she could do about it. When he found rosemary, she wrinkled her nose. It smelled pleasant, but it reminded her of whenever the elders would prepare a a clanmate for a burial. She walked close to it and without a word, begun to roll around in the herb, figuring that was the best way to get it on her pelt. "Do I smell like me now?" She asked him as she stood and shook her body, causing sprigs of rosemary flying off of her pelt in every direction.

Duskpaw rolled in the rosemary and and quickly sat up once Frostpaw spoke, he leaned closer to her and took a deep breath. “I don’t know, all I can smell is rosemary now!” He mewed and food up after her shaking his own pelt off. Excitement once again rushing though him like adrenaline, “let’s go! It should be soon right?” He questioned her and looked up into the sky. All he could see was the pale blue light through the thick trees, which meant the sun should be setting. He began trotting in the direction of the gathering, “I can’t wait!” Duskpaw mewed quietly to her.

(I tried my best to remember how we discussed the gathering point lol.)
Frostpaw purred happily, hopefully Morningstream will be able to notice them more easily then. "I just hope that no one in Forestclan notices the scent." She told her brother as she walked towards were the gathering would be held. "We should be able to watch in the tree line, maybe even hear a thing or two." She added, feeling a little anxious, what if they were caught. Without a doubt, it would cause major issues between the clans. She tried her best to remember what the gathering place was like. A meadow surrounded why water-like the moonstone, with a forest around it as well. Elements of both Forestclan and Isletclan could be easily seen. Then there was the massive rock in the middle, where the leaders sat.

Duskpaw led the way and slowed his pace as they got closer, “we’ll be fine, we just need to find a good spot,” he mewed and gave her a smile. He could scent the other cats, a mix of both clans. He shoved himself in between the tree branches and brush, not wanting to be seen. He could see the clearing and both clans, he began to frantically search with his eyes for Silvermist. His eyes caught the silver tom and he felt like he heart had been ripped apart once again, I miss him so much.. Morningstream and Aspenheart were sitting next to their father, they were supposed to meet after the gathering. Duskpaw then searched for other cats he loved and missed like Redclaw, Oakpelt, and even Moonstar. He was so happy to see them, even though they couldn’t see him. He had been so focused on looking for all of the cats he missed he didn’t listen to a word the leaders spoke on the high stone.

Unlike her brother, Frostpaw only gave her family a quick glance before focusing on Moonstar and Sparrowstar instead. She loved and missed her family, but missing important information could cause trouble later on. "Hey, pay attention, Moonstar is about to announce their names." She told her brother with a hushed whisper, tapping his side with what was left of her tail as she spoke. Her eyes widened as she looked to the leaders, an excited expression on her face.
"First of all, Forestclan would like to announce its' newest apprentice, Hawkpaw." Sparrowstar announced, many Forestclan cat smiling as a young apprentice puffed out his chest, trying to look as brave as he could despite all of the cats staring at him.
"Did we act like that at our first gathering?" Frostpaw asked her brother with a slight laugh, looking back to the leaders.

Duskpaw let out a small giggle, “I hope not,” he joked and kept watching the meeting, eager to hear Moonstar call out their names.
Moonstar nodded a bit, “congratulations Hawkpaw,” she said and dipped her head before continuing. “IslandClan would like to announce its new medicine cat, Morningstream. And two very deserving warriors, Aspenheart and Redclaw.” She mewed proudly and dipped her head in their direction.
Duskpaw looked at Frostpaw and gave her a smile, “I’m so proud of them,” he whispered and looked back at them. Everyone congratulating them, that should’ve been us too. He tried to ignore the stabbing of guilt in his chest, this was supposed to be a happy time and his guilt didn’t deserve his attention.

Frostpaw glanced around the gathering to her siblings, Aspenheart looked almost the exact same as the apprentice, head held a little too high with his chest puffed, "what in Starclan's name is he doing?" Frostpaw mewed with a slight laugh, though her ears pinned back slightly in embarrassment. She placed her attention back on the leaders, nothing too interesting was reported. Both clans seemed to been doing well, with plenty of prey to spare. That was good, she was glad she wasn't having to worry about her family going to battle. "Looks like everyone is just chatting now, hopefully Morningstream and Aspenpaw can slip away for a bit. Father seems to be talking to a Forestclan cat." She reported, unsure of how aware her brother was. He still seemed so distracted.

Morningstream held her head high when Moonstar announced the new medicine cat, she dipped her head at everyone and smiled. She glanced over to Aspenheart who looked exactly like the apprentice that Sparrowstar just announced, she shook her head a bit and looked around once everyone began to chat. Her father wandered off and Aspenheart was looking a bit too proud still, she began to taste the air for her siblings scent. Rosemary filled her nostrils and she shook her head a bit, that’s them. Morningstream nudged Aspenheart and signaled with her tail towards the brush, they were able to easily slip away given that everyone was busy talking. Even Owlwing was busy chatting up a storm with the other medicine cats, which was a relief to her. She slipped through the brush and followed the rosemary scent, leading her to the two siblings.
Duskpaw watched Mornignstream and Aspenheart as they snuck away from the gathering. He pushed himself backwards out of the brush and turned towards the direction his siblings had gone, anxiously waiting for them to appear. Once he could see them again his heart fluttered, “I’ve missed you!” He mewed almost in a whisper as he jumped towards them, pushing his pelt against Aspenheart. He missed Morningstream too, but they have been able to see her. Duskpaw hasn’t seen Aspenheart since he ran away from the clan.. what if he’s angry with me? No, no, leave the guilt behind. His thoughts ran as his siblings pelts pressed against his own, the guilt always finding a way to pick at him. He put his ears back and looked Aspenheart in the eyes, “I’m so sorry.. please don’t be mad at me,” he mewed, almost in a pleading tone. Duskpaw never meant to hurt anyone, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t.

(I'll wait for him to notice Frostpaw's injuries)
Aspenheart gave Morningstream a confused look, but silently followed her anyways. He trusted his sister, she never steered him wrong before, so why would she now. Part of him worried that she was introducing him to a mate that she had kept hidden, but that was so unlike her that the fear washed away quickly. Morningstream was such a cleanpaw that he doubted she would do anything that was even hinted to be against the code. When they got into the woods, he was surprised when he heard something in the undergrowth; quickly, he stepped in front of his sister, ready to fight off whatever was coming their way. He almost attacked before realizing who the black cat was. "Duskpaw?" He asked with wide eyes, the battle-scarred cat hardly looked like his brother but there was no doubt about it. He quickly pressed against the black tom, purring loudly. "I missed you so much!" He told Duskpaw with a grin, "where's Frostpaw?" He asked, noticing the pale she-cat emerge from the trees.
"I'm here, I'm here." She said, giving him a look to indicate that he was talking too loudly, making sure to walk as normal as she could; the last thing she wanted was for her siblings to worry about the limp she still had. She purred and nuzzled them both, happy to finally see Aspenheart after so long.
"You haven't grown at all since I last saw you." The dark tabby teased, pawing Frostpaw's head while looking at Duskpaw, "and you grew too much, what in Starclan have you've been eating?"

Duskpaw let out a quiet giggle, “the secret is shrews,” he teased while quickly getting a good look at his brother, “you’ve grown too, you’re almost as big as me,” he mewed a bit surprised. The tom had clearly grown into a great warrior, making Duskpaw so proud of him. He glanced at Frostpaw and suddenly felt his stomach turn, Aspenheart was bound to be worried once he found out about her injury. But he kept his composure and looked back to Aspenheart and Morningstream, “I’m so proud of you both for getting your names, they fit well,” he mewed and gave Aspenheart a nudge. It was probably nerve wracking waiting to find out what your warrior name would be, I guess at least I don’t have to worry about that.
Morningstream let out a purr as they all stood closer to each other, she was so happy that they were all together again. But it felt wrong that she was somewhat able to see them, and talk to them, without Aspenheart knowing. If he puzzled the pieces together, he may be angry that she didn’t tell him. Morningstream pushed the thoughts away, she did the right thing and even her brother couldn’t convince her otherwise. “Thanks,” she mewed quietly but kept a smile on her face as they spoke.

Frostpaw nodded, "yes, they suit you." She added to Duskpaw's comment, giving her siblings a smile as she purred. She wished she could see Silvermist, but she knew that wouldn't be possible, not right now. Someday she will apologize to him for not taking better care of Duskpaw.
"Thanks!" Aspenheart mewed cheerfully, clearly happy with the name he was given. He wished that it was a bit more fierce sounding, claw, fang, something along that line, but he felt the name suited him despite that. "Redpaw got his name too, he's Reclaw now." He added, trying to think of anything else that had happened while his siblings were gone. "Also, Briarshine had her kits, two of them. They're super cute. Other than that, the clan has been pretty quiet. Kind of boring to be honest." There was a long pause, eventually Aspenheart's grin became a worried expression as he looked at Duskpaw's scar, "what about you guys, where are you now? How did you end up with that nasty scar?"

Duskpaw perked his head up with the news about Redclaw, even though he knew. “That’s great!” He mewed excitedly for them all, he was sure they were all well deserving of those names. Duskpaw shrugged a bit, feeling a bit nervous over Aspenhearts questions. He looked over to Frostpaw anxiously, “well we’re staying in a fox set.. and uhh…” he mewed and looked down away from them. He hated everything about that day, he wished he could take it back more than anything. It was his fault, even though Frostpaw has made him seem like the hero, he knew it was still his fault.
Morningstream put her ears back as she watched Duskpaws words fumble, he was clearly guilt ridden and it made her feel bad. Although she had no idea what had happened that day it seemed that Duskpaw had taken the responsibility for it.

Frostpaw looked at her siblings and blinked. She realized how awkward this must be for Duskpaw and Morningstream but she thought it was honestly better to just rip the thorn out of the paw opposed to sitting there, not answering Aspenheart's question. She did feel a bit of regret for not discussing this with Duskpaw on their way here, but it was too late now. If they delayed it any longer, Aspenheart would notice all of their wounds and come to his own conclusion. She signed and sat down, "we had a run in with dogs." She explained, before Aspenheart could react, she added, "at the Twoleg Place, not the fox set; the fox set is where we are currently staying. We've had no issues with that area so far."
Aspenpaw was taken aback by Frostpaw's casual boldness, stammering to find his words as he looked over the two cats with confusion, "d-dogs? How in Starclan did you get attacked by dogs? What are you, flea-brained?" He circled around the cats, not noticing their injuries, "you look like a rabbit? What happened? How?"
"I'm fine." Frostpaw told him calmly, moving the stump of a tail as if she was going to wrap it around her paws, "it was an unfortunate accident, but we are fine. Duskpaw saved me." She told her brother, her gaze following him as he wondered around them, "it's no different than getting wounds from a battle for territory, father has one, it seems you do to. These things happen."
"Yeah, they happen, but I have a tail!" Aspenpaw responded, looking to his brother, "she's your sister, why didn't you protect her?" He snapped, his face a whisker length from Duskpaw's, "I would never let something like that happen to Morningstream, what's your excuse."
"I'm not a kit." Frostpaw said, slightly offended.
"No, you're not." Aspenpaw responded, not looking away from Duskpaw, "but compared to Duskpaw, you might as well be."

Duskpaw was taken aback, unable to form words for a moment as he looked at Aspenheart in disbelief. Of course he was mad at him, how could he have been so flea-brained to not think this was a bad idea. Everything was his fault and it was no surprise to him that everyone else thought the same, but Aspenheart wasn’t there. He didn’t go through being betrayed by his mother, he didn’t watch his sister get her tail ripped off while he watched helplessly. The guilt and sorrow feeling quickly turned to anger, he took a step forward to Aspenheart and kept his gaze, “you weren’t there. You have no idea what it’s been like Aspenheart. Our own mother set us up and betrayed us, you don’t know what that was like.” Duskpaw mewed bluntly and as quietly as he could, he felt so hurt that his brother would think he wouldn’t protect his own sister. “I did everything to protect her, I wouldn’t change a thing I did that day.”
Morningstream watched the bickering helplessly wide eyed, “keep your voices down.” She mewed quietly, not wanting to make matters worse. There was nothing she could do, or anything she could say to make anyone less upset at this moment.

Aspenheart thumped his tail in frustration, "what did you expect when you ran off with her? When did she ever seem trustworthy? She didn't even bother to look after us when we were kits, why did you expect her to start caring now?" He hissed, ignoring Morningstream, "you always acted as if you couldn't trust our clanmates, even Redclaw, but you decided to trust Azreal? She isn't even clan born, she doesn't know how to look out for others, and clearly you don't either."
"Enough, you're being too loud, Aspenheart." Frostpaw snapped, stepping between the two cats, "I shouldn't have told you the way that I did, I'm sorry. I was being tactless." She looked between the two brother, briefly glancing at Morningstream as well, she was sure her sister was regretting everything. She felt a pang in her chest, her sister was too kind to mediate the conflict. She took a deep breath, "Duskpaw, Aspenheart is right to be worried; and Aspenheart, Duskpaw is always there to protect me."
"Clearly not always." Aspenheart responded quickly.

(I hope it’s ok I put that Owlwing told Morning before the meeting that she could go check on Frost)
Duskpaw felt his pelt begin to get hot with anger, but he didn’t step away or lose his eye contact. “Did you really expect me to believe that she would throw her own daughter into a death trap? Do you?” He snapped, baring his teeth from anger. The subject was too personal, no one experienced that day like Duskpaw and Frostpaw did, nor would they ever understand. “I saved her, and she’s alive.” Duskpaw mewed before turning away, taking a deep breath. He couldn’t stand the anger that he felt, but he couldn’t make himself feel anything else. The anger had consumed him, he couldn’t believe his own brother didn’t believe he did what he thought was right.
Morningstream took a small step forward, “no, that’s enough. We don’t need to know what happened and we also don’t need to blame anyone. Let’s go to the fox den, now.” She mewed and gave Frostpaw a stern look, surprised that she finally spoke up. Aspenheart was the closest and she pushed him in the direction of the fox den, she then made her way next to Frostpaw. “Owlwing said it’s fine if I came to check on you after the meeting, and I guess Aspenhearts coming now.” She whispered to her sister. Morningstream silently knew Aspenheart was going to catch on soon, but that wasn’t her problem. Things happen and it’s not always the way you want it, at least that’s what she tells herself.

Without thinking, Frostpaw glared at her sister when she was given a stern look; Morningstream did nothing but watch, what gave her the right to act as though she was above her. However, Frostpaw flinched when she released what she had done and thought, feeling a wave of guilt at the realization. She kept her pace slow as to allow the two brothers to go ahead of them. She remained quiet but when Morningstream spoke, she gave the she-cat a surprised look, "does he not know anything?" She asked with a hushed voice. She had expected Morningstream to keep out a few details here and there but to completely shut Aspenheart out of this- no wonder he was upset, "you told him nothing even when he was about to come meet us?" She asked again, running everything through her mind. Aspenheart was always so passionate, of course he would react like this. She had expected him to at least no about her tail, no wonder he was so shocked. She clicked her tongue, realization how bad this situation could turn out now. However, she still thought she was in the right to tell him what happened, even if she worded it in a less than delicate manner, "he deserves to know; I didn't want either of you to know about Azreal, but still..."
Aspenheart released a huff and went with the flow of his siblings, placing himself between Duskpaw and his sisters. No way was he going to expect that cat to protect them if something where to attack. He glanced around, they were very close to Forestclan territory, "don't tell me you have been stealing Forestclan prey." He muttered, more worried than angry. Those clan cats would shred both of them if they were caught.

Morningstream shook her head at Frostpaw, “no I haven’t, I- I couldn’t.” She mewed defeatedly. She avoided her sister's eye contacts and kept her gaze forward, focused on following her brothers in front of her. “It wouldn’t have been good if I told him, and when we were on the way here he couldn’t stop talking about how excited he was.. I didn’t want to ruin the gathering..” she mewed and put her head down to the side. As they walked she ignored Aspenhearts comments, he had no idea what he was talking about. “And you’re right, maybe the truth about everything needs to come out. I did what I thought was right-“ she paused abruptly, feeling like she had heard those words a lot the last few moons.
Duskpaw shot a glare at Aspenheart, “we’re not mouse-brained!” He snapped, he couldn’t believe the way he had been acting. He couldn’t hold his anger- let alone his tongue. The fox den was in view and he trotted over to it, sitting down in front of the den and waited for his siblings with his ears back. How could Aspenheart be so insensitive?

Frostpaw sighed and nodded, understanding where Morningstream was coming from now that she explained. Her sister was so sensitive, she was glad the she-cat would never have to fight or take a life now that she was a medicine cat. She would probably try to talk it out, hoping that she could show violence wasn't the answer. She silently thanked Starclan that Morningstream had stayed in the clan. She looked to her sister and gave her the same smile that she had gotten sed to giving Duskpaw, now able to imitate her father's smile from their kithood quite well, "it will be fine. I'll take care of everything. I promise." She told her sister, looking to the fox set ahead of them, "both of you aren't allowed to talk unless it's something nice. Do you want all of Starclan to hear you two arguing." She said sternly, walking past them both and to the small pile of fresh-kill that was hidden in the fern, "stop talking and eat." She said, as she grabbed two shrews for Aspenheart and Morningstream.
Once again, Aspenheart stumbled on his words, getting frustrated with Frostpaw and her unrelenting bossiness, he looked to Morningstream, also upset that she hadn't sided with him. Had she gone mad? Their siblings looked like a pair of rogues and she wasn't batting an eye, "what is wrong with all of you? This isn't a game. Frostpaw could have died, and you Duskpaw, just look at you-no cat our age should be scarred like that. Why is everyone acting like I'm being crazy about this? You two need to get back to the clan. You're clan cats, not dirty rogues."

Morningstream nodded at Frostpaw and gave her a sweet smile, appreciating her sudden kindness. She took a piece of prey and laid next to her siblings, trying to create a circle so they all could eventually talk it out. Morningstream put her ears back at Aspenhearts words, she wanted to believe he was overreacting but he wasn’t. He had every right to behave the way he was, she put her head down, hoping Frostpaw would handle it like she said she would.
Duskpaw let out an irritated sigh when Aspenheart spoke again. He began to pace the front of the den but behind his siblings, searching for his words. “You’re not crazy! Okay?” He suddenly stopped his pacing and faced his brother, “you deserve the truth and that’s what we’ll give you, but if you keep accusing me for not protecting my sister then I have no business speaking a word to you.” He mewed sternly, putting in the effort for his voice not to crack. He gave his brother a sorrowful look, grieving for the relationship they once had.

Frostpaw sat down opposite of Morningstream, allowing for the two brothers to sit away from each other. She watched the two for a moment before laying down, curling her forepaw under her chest as she listened. She decided it was best to let them talk it out, better now than let emotions stir later, "Aspenheart, come eat." She said quietly, hoping that he would listen. She really did feel guilty though, she had made this so much worse with her harsh, factual explanation of events. She had to be better. A mistake like that with the rogues could result in something worse than a mere argument. When Aspenheart still hadn't sat down, she gave him a frustrated look, "I said come eat." She said more sternly, her ears pinning back.
Aspenheart released a low grumble, not quite a growl but close. He was furious with all of his siblings. Duskpaw wasn't taking responisbility for what happened, Morningstream was staying out of it and Frostpaw was bossing everyone around. This wasn't right, it should have never come to this. After being told a second time, the tom relented and sat down between his sisters, watching Duskpaw as he pawed at the shrew, "why didn't you two come back to the clan when this happened?" He asked, looking at Frostpaw and Duskpaw as he spoke, "you serious want to spend your whole lives out here in a fox set?" He added before anyone could answer his first question.

Morningstream glanced at Aspenheart in between bites, feeling her throat begin to dry. Aspenheart deserved the truth, even though they didn’t really need to know what had happened. She slightly looked down at his questions, searching for an answer that he would want to hear. “Because they can’t. As much as they are our siblings they still left the clan.” Morningstream mewed to him in a kind tone, hoping not to anger him anymore. She tried to explain to him in the best way she could, Owlwing wasn’t so gentle when he told Morningstream that they would most likely never be accepted back into the clan. But she could handle the truth in a blunt way, Aspenheart was already on edge and will probably take everything a lot more seriously.
Duskpaw sat down and closed his eyes, trying to breathe slowly and think rather than speak. Aspenheart didn’t understand, and Duskpaw felt like he couldn’t explain it. He was pulled two ways, in between his guilt and his anger. He believed everything was his fault and all while still believing he did the right thing. He opened his eyes and fixed his gaze on Frostpaw, he felt pain in his chest from the guilt and grief, he just wished everything could be how it once was.

"They had let Azreal in? They even gave her a warrior name." Aspenheart argued, his blue eyes looking desperate. He shook his head, not able to belief what was happening, "surely the clan would be happy to have them back. I'm sure of it."
"Some will, but most won't." Frostpaw told him, looking to Duskpaw for a moment before looking back to Aspenheart, "if Moonstar did accept us back, many in the clan would disagree with that decision. It would also make Isletclan look soft Forestclan," she shook her head at the thought. It simply wasn't worth the risk for them to rejoin, "besides, I like living out here. I miss all of you, but I feel like this life suits me better." She added.
Aspenheart was quiet for a while, still not taking a bite of his shrew, pawing it with his forepaw a few time as he tried to think of what to say, "this is all ridiculous." He eventually stated, standing up, "like I said, you aren't filthy rogues, you're clan cats. Clan cats belong in a clan."
"Our mother wasn't a clan cat, we are half bloods." Frostpaw responded quietly, looking at the dirt in front of her as she spoke.
Aspenheart clicked his tongue, "Morningstream, we are leaving. Come on. We can't talk sense into these two." He ordered, though his voice was filled with hurt. Why were they being like this? He glanced to Duskpaw then Frostpaw, feeling betrayed that they would rather be out here injured than in the clan with their family, "when you two decided that you aren't too good to be with your family, let me know." He added, trying to should angry and insulting but his grief was apparent, "Morningstream, now. Our clan will be looking for us." He added as he started to leave.
Frostpaw nodded to Morningstream, feeling it was best if her sister went with Aspenheart.

Morningstream stood up after Aspenheart and turned around to follow him, but she stopped and looked back at Frostpaw and Duskpaw, “I love you.” She mewed and turned around, running to catch up with Aspenheart. His pace was quick and she could tell he was tense, but she kept his pace and kept quiet for a while. If only he was able to put his anger aside and face that there was nothing he could do. The siblings were happy where they were, and they might sound crazy for it but Morngingstream admired them for it. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about all of this sooner,” she finally mewed in a guilty matter, surely she would be the next to be snapped at by him.
Duskpaw watched Aspenheart storm off and Morningstream run after him, suddenly making him feel nothing but everything. He dragged the shrew that Aspenheart didn’t eat near him and began to eat, he didn’t have any more words. He was stuck with his thoughts and the guilt he thought he left behind, but it turns out it will always be there. Duskpaw thought of being a kit again, being able to curl up in his nest with his family with no worry in the world. But now they’re dirty rogues. He stopped eating and looked up at Frostpaw, “how’s being a dirty rogue?” He mewed with no expression, staring at her blankly. This guilt would surely consume him, especially when everyone’s pointing their paw at him.

It took a moment for Aspenheart to think of a response, when he did, he stopped walking and turned to his sister, "why do you guys always leave me out of things?" He asked, feeling hurt, "do you know why I'm so close to Redclaw? Because ever since we were kits you three acted like you were all... special. Frostpaw and Duskpaw always acted like the clan hated them, and you...you were always going on about becoming a medicine cat. Then when you finally do, you get signs from Starclan within a moon." He looked away for a second and shook his head, feeling himself getting emotional again, "I just always feel like you three are off on your own adventure, leaving me behind. I'm sorry that I am just a normal warrior, but I deserve to know when my sister and brother were almost killed by that rat we called Mother!"
Frostpaw looked to Duskpaw before standing, "he didn't mean it like that." She told him, looking back towards were her siblings disappeared. It could have gone worse, but it should have gone better. The pale she-cat walked closer to her brother before sitting down, "he probably feels like we all lied to him. I would be mad too." She admitted. To be honest, she would have been worse than Aspenheart, but she kept that to herself. She looked at her paws, she had told Morningstream that she would take care of it, but she handled it all so poorly. She was suppose to look after her siblings, not make them fight, "I'm sorry that I told him the way that I did. I was just thinking about how I would want to be told...I didn't take how Aspenheart is into account."

Morningstream put her ears back fighting against tears as Aspenheart yelled at her, waiting for him to be done. “I didn’t know!” She pleaded, and that part was true. They never told her what happened because Owlwing said it was better that they didn’t know. “I was never told what happened that day, because it was better that I didn’t know. And I’m sorry you feel that way I-“ She stuttered and looked away from him, ever since the two left the clan she had kept herself busy in order to distract herself. “I’m just sorry,” she mewed with tears forming in her eyes, she didn’t mean to hurt him. The fact that he acted like she purposely hurt him made her heart ache, she really did what she believed was right. “I thought what I did was right, I thought not knowing the full story was right. I thought that not telling you was right to not hurt you, because at the end of the day Aspenheart… They’re never coming back.” Morningstream finally said, looking back to him with tears rolling down her face. She wished she wasn’t so sensitive, but she was. Everything could go wrong and she wouldn’t budge, but seeing her siblings and father hurt more than anything.
Duskpaw shrugged, “it doesn’t matter now,” he mewed with frustration in voice. He shook his head from all of the thoughts running in his head, it was all too much to process. “It’s just that I feel guilty enough! Everyday, every night, and every second I feel guilty. It’s going to kill me,” he mewed, feeling defeated by all of the feelings. Duskpaw glared at the area that he last saw Aspenheart and Morningstream, grief and guilt fully consuming him. “I just wish he knew that I’ve punished myself enough for the choices I’ve made,” he added before standing up and shaking off his pelt. He didn’t feel like finishing the shrew, yet he didn’t feel like going to sleep.

Aspenheart was taken aback by her response, feeling a bit panicked that she was so upset. Quickly, he walked over and nudged her to help make her feel better, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I'm being an idiot." He apologized, Morningstream has always been sensitive, what was he thinking to say something like that to her, "I know that you were only trying to help. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I just feel so helpless and left out." He explained, shifting on his paws awkwardly unsure on what else he could say to her. He looked up to the sky, they had to hurry back before they get in trouble, "why don't we grab some herbs. We can say I was helping you." He suggested quietly, hoping that she would feel better if they moved on.
Frostpaw looked to the ground, unsure on what to say. She knew Duskpaw felt guilty, but there was nothing that she could do to make him feel better. "It was my choice to go with you and it was my choice to trust Azreal." She told him quietly, pulling over what was left of the shrew to finish it, disliking the idea of leaving good prey for the crows. She continued to watch her brother, unsure of what else to say, "it will be okay. Tomorrow we can ask Owlwing about the clan story."
