Mara stood up once again, shaking her head at the she-cat, “right,” she mewed. She turned around to go towards the two-leg place but stopped and turned back to the she-cat, “oh yeah, you might want to start coming up with your names.” She mewed sarcastically and turned around disappearing into the undergrowth. She silently decided the cats weren’t worth her time, nor did she care if she told Henry anything. Worst punishment she’ll face is no prey, as much as she said Henry would rip her pelt off, he wouldn’t.
Duskpaw came from the undergrowth carrying a large squirrel and a couple voles, he sat them near the den and glanced at his sister. He could scent Mara, he let out a sigh knowing the two didn’t get along well. “I don’t want to hear about what you bickered about today,” he mewed and laid down near her, rolling onto his back to feel the sun on his belly.

Frostpaw nodded a farewell, despite her dislike and distrust for the cat, she still made a point to be polite to the she-cat. "Travel safely." She mewed as she did every time, though her eyes did not look to Mara, even as the cat turned and spoke to her. When Duskpaw returned Frostpaw released a sigh. "She caught me hunting." She told him, motioning for him to check the fern by the den while she finished grooming herself. While the cat said that she did not plan to tell anyone about Frostpaw acting more injured than she truly was, Frostpaw was still very hesitate to simply take the cat by her word. "I told her that if she tell anyone I would mention that she was missing for a few days. Hopefully that would keep her quiet." The pale cat added, now taking the chance to glance to were Mara was earlier. "She also mentioned that we should figure out our names."

Duskpaw listened to Frostpaw as she spoke, but was thinking about Mara in the back of his head. He silently wondered why she was gone for a few days, and how she came only when he was gone. Maybe she didn’t like him as much as he thought she did? His thoughts were interrupted when Frostpaw brought up what Mara had said to her, “she has a point, we can’t walk in that group and tell them our real names.” He pointed out, it would be time for them to choose names for themselves. “I could just go by Dusk,” he mewed unsure, trying to think about if it sounds good. “Dusk.” He mewed a few times trying to see if it sounded right.

Frostpaw noticed how distracted her brother seemed, but shrugged it off. There was a lot happening right now, and the gathering was tonight, it was expected for his mind to wander off. "I suppose that's true. It suits you." She told him with a nod. "I guess I'll just go by Frost, keep it simple." The she-cat added, though she felt some distaste for changing her name. Part of her felt like it meant Azreal won. She shook away that thought and instead released a small laugh. "Could you imagine what Aspenp-heart would call himself. He would never go by Aspen. It would be so over the top." She told Duskpaw with a grin, picturing Aspenheart searching for the perfect name. "Like Chaos or something like that haha." She added with a small giggle.

Duskpaw nodded in agreement, “too true,” he mewed and let out a laugh thinking about Aspenheart. He missed him so much, he was always so bold and confident. If only Duskpaw could feel that way, at least with everything going on has distracted him from his guilt he still carried. “I hope to be half the cat that he is,” he mewed and slowly became serious and his thoughts flooded, suddenly remembering that Duskpaw and Frostpaw had decided to come up with a final plan today. He focused his thoughts back and glanced up at her, “maybe I’ll go by Shadow.” He mewed and shrugged. “Also.. have you thought about a plan? I think we should just see what we’re getting ourselves into..” he trailed off.

"Shadow?" She asked, tilting her head, but she thought more about it and nodded. "Actually that's a good idea, it would make it hard for Azreal to realize that it's you. She probably thinks I'm dead so I'll go by Frost to keep it easy for you. I don't plan to draw much attention to myself anyways." She told him, playing with the small stone in front of her again, part of her hated that Duskpaw was changing himself so much for this, but it was a good idea to be completely honest. "As for Aspenheart, I wouldn't have either of you any other way. You both are yourselves and that's something I never want to change." She told him, fondly thinking of her family. "I'm glad that we will get to see them soon..."

Duskpaw let out a small growl when she mentioned Azreal, her name made him uneasy. He couldn’t thank StarClan, and Owlwing, enough for Frostpaw surviving. He would've been after Azreal like no other. He focused his thoughts again, realizing how much he had been getting distracted lately. “If I see her, I’ll make it clear where she stands now,” he mewed bluntly, looking down to the ground where Frostpaw was playing with a pebble. “I’m so excited to see them too, I wish we could see father. I would give anything to apologize to him,” he mewed guiltily, he felt like an elder whose mood changes every five minutes. But so many things have happened, and so many things keep happening that he can’t keep up with. He let out a sigh and laid his head on his paws.

Frostpaw nodded quietly, feeling an ache in her heart at the thought of her father. She missed him so much yet knew that they had to stay away. He would be at the den everyday if he knew were they were. "I know, I do too." She said quietly as she focused more on the peddle. She couldn't allow Duskpaw to sit there feeling guilty. Today was a happy day after all, finally getting to see Aspenpaw as Aspenheart, maybe they could even hear the announcements of their brother and sister's new names to the clans. She gave her brother a small smile, trying to mimic the one her father would use whenever she was feeling anxious A gentle, calm smile that still showed a bit of uncertainty. "Well, if you make that clan then you will get to see him for sure." She purred, teasing him slightly. She doubted the clan that he seemed so fixated on, but if that made him happy, so be it.

Duskpaw rolled his eyes slightly with a smile on his face, “you’re just saying that to make me happy,” he mewed. But he then puffed out his chest and deepened his voice, “but it’s true,” he then let out a giggle as his ridiculous voice. “It’s going to be called, uh-“ he thought for a long time, not coming up with a single name. He then looked up to Frostpaw like a light bulb went off, “ShadowClan! Wait.. wasn’t that from some story we heard as kits?” He questioned her.

"Not I'm not!" She snapped back, a slight whine to her voice, her tail thumping as he teased her. She was quick to recover however, living with your brother for moons on end made such things easy to glaze over. She listened to him keenly as he spoke, shaking her head at his name suggestion. "The clan we are looking into doesn't have a name. That one is from the stories about the four clans across the sea. Some Starclan cats are from there...I think." She explained, trying to remember. That question would be better suited for Morningstream opposed to herself. There was something about unknown cats that would be seen once in a while during Moonstone ceremonies; she was sure Owlwing told them that story as kits but she couldn't recall. "Besides, if you are naming yourself Shadow, then you would be naming your clan after yourself. Who would do that? Clan are supposed to be named after where they are." She corrected, unknowingly ignorant of the origins of the four clan names from the legends. "Twoleg-place-clan...? Monster-path-clan....Fox-den-clan?" She mumbled.

Duskpaw shrugged, “Hmmm let me think..” He trailed off and looked around him, the fox den was in a clearing. Surrounded by brush and tree, he questioned himself if it would be big enough for a clan. It would be big enough for a clan if they build dens within the brush, if the dens are made well enough. But would the territory be enough? He hasnt particularly scouted out all of the territory around the fox den. But then suddenly he came up with an idea, “what about GladeClan?” Duskpaw mewed confidently trying to make it sound like a good idea.

Frostpaw glanced around then shrugged as well. “Sure, assuming that it would be built here. I don’t know if there’s even enough territory.” She said, not very bothered either way, Duskpaw seemed to like the name so who was she to stop him. “If the old clan really was were the twoleg place is now, all their territory is gone anyways.” She added, looking back at her brother. She wasn’t one for tales and stories but now even see was curious about the fabled clan that was forsaken by Starclan. Maybe Owlwing would know, bug the tom had been staying for much shorter times now, she was sure he would refuse to tell her any nursery tales. “Maybe some cats at the twoleg place would know. If the clan was originally there, surely some kind of stories would have been passed down.” Surely even rogues had tales to tell their kits, though she imagined it was less about the dangers of twolegs and more about how terrifying forest cats used to eat any kits that strayed too far from their mother. She wanted to suggest asking Mara but decided against it, not liking the idea of the she cat knowing that they may be from the clans.

Duskpaw let out a happy sigh, “maybe there is enough territory though, then this could be our forever home.” He mewed hopefully, but who knows how things will end up going. He then shrugged again, “we will have to find out one way or another.” He said and gave her a smile, somehow they would find out more about the third clan. He assumed they could also ask Morningstream, since she probably knew as many stories as Owlwing did. Duskpaw had a lot of hopes, and those hopes are probably going to take a lot of work.. “So what are we going to do all day while we wait for the gathering?” He questioned Frostpaw, he was too excited to even take a nap. Maybe the could scout out the territory, Frostpaw was now able to hunt so she would be able to walk around.

Frostpaw looked around, "well, with Forestclan right over there, this wouldn't be a very secure location for a camp." She advised him, curling her paws under her body as she spoke. She imagined that the camp would have been deep within where the two-leg place now stood, however, there was really no way of really knowing that. She closed her eyes as she thought of what to do, she agreed that sitting around and napping would not be possible at the moment. "I suppose we could go walk around, find the borders. We could make our way around towards the gathering stones." She suggested, opening her eyes to look at her brother. They would also have to disguise their scents as well, but they could cross that river when they reached it.

Duskpaw shrugged and stood up, “okay sounds like a plan then,” he agreed. He stretched his body while he waited for Frostpaw to be ready to go, once she was ready they trotted next to each other. “You can lead the way,” he mewed. He kept next to her but wanted her to decide which way they went. Frostpaws walking and hunting was getting much better, and it was nice for him to watch her gain all of her skills back.

Frostpaw stretched and followed him, taking the lead when he asked her to. She headered towards the Forestclan border, figuring that would be a good place to start. She remained rather far from it, stopping as soon as she could scent the markings that had been placed and started to walk along it. " I wonder why they didn't expand their territory further towards where we are." She said out loud, looking for signs of any cats or predators. "Do you think it's because they worry about being too close to the twoleg place?" She added, glancing to her brother as she spoke.

Duskpaw took a deep breath, taking in all of the scents as his sister looked around. “I would think that’s why, also if they did expand any more wouldn’t they just be greedy?” He asked and glanced at her as they kept walking. ForestClans territory seemed so large, but IsletClans was too. Something about the woods made it seem much larger, but he kept trotting alongside Frostpaw and looked around and behind him every once in a while. “There has to be a part of the forest that’s not claimed,” he pointed out. Maybe on the other side of FrosestClan, but then that would seem so far away from IsletClan. Not that they could go visiting there, it would feel weird to be too far for some reason. “We may even be wrong about where the third clan was, I think I’ll ask Morningstream if she knows anything”

The she-cat walked in silence as she listened to her brother talk. "I guess that more territory means more patrols and cats to protect it." She mewed in agreement, once again glancing around as she spoke. "If that's true, then why would they have disappeared?" She asked, keeping up her pace as she spoke, not wanting to miss the gathering just because they were too busy chatting about a non-existent clan. "The story said that they were forsaken by Starclan and then the twolegs came and destroyed them." She told him, trying to think of where else that could apply to. "Are there any other twoleg places that we just don't know about?" She added, not really expecting an answer. She couldn't picture a whole clan being destroyed by twolegs for no reason. It just didn't make any sense to her.

Duskpaw thought for a moment, Frostpaw made a good point. “Maybe there is, but if we want to find out we need to find out before we have to join the rogue group.” He mewed seriously to her, “your walking seems fine, maybe we could see what’s on the other side of the moonstone?” He asked her, it was a long journey but what else did they have to do? They were technically loners and loners travel and don’t stay in the same place. Duskpaw picked up his pace with Frostpaws, it seemed to be getting close to gathering. He was so excited he felt like he couldn’t feel his feet as he trotted.

Frostpaw gave him a curious glance, she had never completed the journey to the moonstone before the left. She nodded and sped up her pace, feeling his excitement. "We should have plenty pf time." She said, looking up to the sky, the sun was still up, they would be able to see some of what was past the moonstone before turning back towards the gathering stones. She would be lying if she said she wasn't excited to see the sacred place. She wanted to ask Morningstream about it but had completely forgot to bring it up. "You got to go to the moon stone, right?" She asked him, glancing over to the black tom, unable to remember. "Is there anywhere high near it? Then we could see if there are any other twoleg places or landmarks."

Duskpaw shrugged unable to remember, “I don’t remember,” he mewed disappointedly. He thought about it a bit more, confused on how the memory had slipped from his mind. As they walked he kept thinking, trying to remember. “All I can remember is being up high, and unless it was a dream then it should be by the moonstone.” He finally mewed to Frostpaw. He hoped there really was somewhere up high and they could see everything, then they wouldn’t have wonder.

"well, there's only one way to find out." Frostpaw responded, not too bothered by the inconvenience. Either way, she would be able to see the moon stone finally, which would leave her in a good mood. She kept up her pace, wanting reach the area before sun down. Good light would allow them to see anything of interest even better. She pressed on forward, eventually able to see a tall structure in the distance. "Is that it?" She asked, seeing the tall, odd shaped rocks as they walked closer, a gap splitting the stones apart. She had to crank her neck to gaze up to the very top. "I wonder how we would even be able to climb to the top."

Duskpaw looked into the distance, everything still didn’t look familiar. “Maybe it was a dream,” he mewed and kept trotting forward. He noticed to the side it was still trees, he couldn’t remember where his memory was from but perhaps it was a dream and he was confused. “We probably shouldn’t go very close to the moonstone,” he pointed out to her as they kept walking. The trees were thinning out where the sand begun, where they could look out onto the water and they could also see the moonstone.

Frostpaw nodded, follwing her brother closely, she looked across the shallow water towards the moonstone. "I thought it was suppose to glow." She said mindlessly as she stared at the rock, tilting her head to the side. It was rather large, larger than she had expected, but other than that it looked rather normal. She looked to Duskpaw, wanting to see if he was just as unimpressed as she was. "MAybe it's because we aren't medicine cats?" She added.

(Ugh sorry for taking so long and that it’s a short post.)
Duskpaw let out a small laugh, “it doesn’t glow in the daylight dork, it glows when the moonlight hits it.” He mewed proudly, excited that he remembered something. He shrugged and walked into the shore, checking out the stones. “I don’t see how we would climb those, but at least we got to see it ourselves.” He mewed, not too impressed by the moonstone, and he could tell Frostpaw wasn’t either. “Well it wasn’t all that, I guess let’s go,” he suggested to her.

“Oh shut up!” Frostpaw hissed back playfully, pawing at Duskpaw. Usually she would have pawed his forehead but there was such a difference in size that she hit his shoulder instead. However, when she took where they were into account, she felt a wave of embarrassment and her ear tips felt burning hot. “Sorry.” She mumbled, not to Duskpaw however, instead it was too the Starclan cats that may be watching over them. She nodded when he suggested leaving, eager to see if there was anything interesting while they made their way to the gathering. “Oh yeah, we have to disguise our scent.” She told him, narrowing her eyes as she tried to think of what would work best. “Rosemary or lavender would work well.” She told him, remembering that the elders would use them during burials.

Duskpaw nodded, “okay, there should be rosemary near by right?” He asked asked Frostpaw and began to look around. He noticed there was a slope not far from the moonstone, he looked back to his sister eagerly, “look there’s like a hill, or mountain, whatever it is, let’s go to the top of it!” He suggested and turned back to the hill, not understanding how he didn’t notice it. He was too focused on the glowing rock he didn’t look around. He began to walk towards it. Passing the moonstone and walking directly away from ForestClan, he looked back to Frostpaw again, “let’s go!”

Frostpaw trotted after her brother, feeling some more excitement. After so many moons at the twoleg place and fox den, she felt isolated and bored. This little adventure that they were having was definitely bringing her spirits back up. “Wait for me.” She called after him, having some trouble climbing up the slope. When she reached the top, she released a small huff as she caught her breath. “I’ll have to start training again.” She told him, realizing how out of shape she was when compared to how she was back in Isletclan. She looked to her brother. “Well, let’s go see if we can find anything.” She purred.

Duskpaw felt more excitement rush through him once he noticed Frostpaw was excited too, but he slowed his pace remembering that she was still recovering. It also has been a long time since they’ve walked this much, and he didn’t want to rush her. They trotted up the hill, dodging low branches and bushes. Once they reached the top he looked over to Frostpaw, “let’s go to the edge and look out onto the water,” he suggested to her and padded towards the edge. The trees began to thin out and he suddenly felt uneasy, it was just like a dream he had before. He kept walking towards the edge but he looked around, noticing heather bunched together and a few fallen hollowed trees. But everything seemed out of order, like no animal or twoleg had been around in a long time. They reached the edge and they looked out onto the water, “it’s so pretty!”

Frostpaw followed her brother closely, feeling relieved at the thought of seeing open water again. The river was nice, but there was nothing like the sound of waves and birds. She picked up her pace a little, not having to duck down nearly as much as her brother. "It's like the path hasn't been used in a really long time. I wonder if this is from when cats first formed the clans." She said aimlessly as they walked. She almost went into a run, but decided that it was best to keep her current pace. She took a deep breath when they finally reached the cliff, looking out onto the water. The air felt so clean and pure, reminding her of home. "This place is odd." She said after a moment, glancing to her brother, unsure if he also noticed how strange the area was.
