Duskpaw shivered at the thought of the two-leg place, “why?” He protested, not wanting to know a detail about the cats. But if she thought it was important enough and had good reasoning then maybe they could. All he was sure of was that she-cat was going to keep coming back, annoying as it is. “We can though,” he added at the thought of Azreal, he couldn’t wait to get his claws onto her. Even then she deserves a lot more than she has coming for her. He looked up at her, “I need you to know that I saw everything that happened that day.. I watched Azreal push you, and deserves to pay.” He mewed bluntly to his sister.
Mara shrugged a bit, “not really, they aren’t interested in talking to me. But I’m going to keep working on it,” she mewed thinking about the two. Somehow she’d have to gain their trust, it would be the only way they’d open up. She also doubted they would want to join, they see, to be enjoying the life they have. But they would be mouse brained to think they could live like that forever, they would need stability in their lives at some point. Maybe if she did invite them to join they would open up a bit, “like I said I’ll keep working on it.” She mewed with a small smile, starting to realize how hard this was actually going to be.

Frostpaw looked at her brother for a moment before speaking again. "We will not be there for revenge, just information. We can learn more about Azreal while we're there too." She advised him pawing at the remains of the bird. As much as she would like to get rid of Azreal, it could cause them more trouble than it was worth. Many cats seemed to recognized her, and Starclan knows what connects she may have. After all, she was more than happy to get rid of one of her children, seeming unworried of the consequences. She must have done such a thing before. "The best revenge was already done." She added, giving her brother a smirk. "Not only did I survive, but now she has lost all hold on us. She has no power, I imagine she will lose her mind when she realizes how badly she messed up."
(I can change Henry's response if you don't like it) Henry gave the young cat a frustrated look, though she acted as though she was confident in her ability to convince the cats two join them, all he saw was failure. "Mara, Mara, Mara." He signed, shaking his head as he stepped closer to the she-cat. "I risked my life for those cats, yet you're telling me that you can't even have a conversation with them?" He asked with a slight hiss to his voice, the other nearby cats watching intently- some fearful, others amused. "I took you into my group. We fed you, trained you, made you all that you are today. Yet you can't even do the one task I have ask of you. I expect those two to be scampering to us, begging to join. I don't care how." He turned away from her and swished his tail to dismiss her. He didn't like being like this, he wanted to be a kind, benevolent leader, but the harsh nature of this world forced him to rule like this. He needed more able bodies to take what was theirs. He feared what would happen if he allowed those two cats to slip from his claws.

(No no it’s great!)
Mara pinned her ears back as the tom spat at her, fighting the urge to growl. She turned away without a word and ran out of the camp as everyone stared at her. She slowed her pace once she was far enough, deciding to go back to the forest. Mara would never understand how she ended up in the rogue group, dealing with Henry’s ridiculous orders day in and day out. Eating what clan cats would think is rubbish, oh but he took me in. She fought tears as she walked, finding her back close by the fox den. She noticed both the cats outside, this would be her opportunity to invite both of them to the group. Mara walked out of the bushes and towards them, “twice in one day I know, I’m sorry. Actually, I’ll just get to the point. You both have a place in the rogue group, my leader wanted me to formally invite both of you,” she mewed trying to sound sincere, but her gaze rarely reached either of the cats in front of her.
Duskpaw turned to see Mara, but unlike how he usually reacts he noticed she seemed disordered. He was considering asking if she was okay but she began to talk quickly. Taking a moment to think he glanced at Frostpaw to see if she could tell the black and white she-cat was acting much different than usual. He looked back to Mara, “you don’t sound so sure,” he teased.

Frostpaw watched the exchange quietly, taking a good look at Mara. She seemed very different than when they talked not long ago. The she-cat seemed outgoing and confident, but now she was upset and the scent of fear clung to her. The pale cat looked to her brother to see what he seemed to think before speaking. "I suppose that they were not pleased when you returned?" She asked, tilting her head. That was the only thing she could think of for the cat's sudden reappearance. She looked to Duskpaw again. "Should we take the chance to ask her some questions?" She suggested, rather coldly. She had very little concern for the cat, especially after what happened the last time she had shown empathy for anyone other than her siblings. She was uncomfortable with the idea of traveling right now. She needed to stay safe until she was able to move with confidence, so she felt getting information while a source of it was right in front of them would be for best.

Mara shrugged and looked away, “ask me whatever, I just know if you guys never join the group I’m going to get my pelt ripped off. I know that’s not you’re problem though,” she mewed with a sigh and fixed her gaze back on the cats. She didn’t know where being honest was going to get her, but what she was doing before was getting her no where anyway. Henry already embarrassed her in front of the whole group, what would he do next?
Duskpaw nodded at Frostpaw and looked back to Mara as she spoke, giving her a confused look. He didn’t know what to say, and hoped his sister would have something to say. He didn’t want to join the group, but clearly something wasn’t right about the group. The leader seems like a power driven cat, but who knows maybe they’ll find out the truth. “So it’s your responsibility to make us join?” He asked, just curious. It was that important that they joined, he had to find out why.

Frostpaw felt some relief that the cat decided to agree to answer their questions. It would save both herself and her brother a lot of time. She nodded. "It seems that way." She responded to her brother's question, answering it for the she-cat. "I'm assuming that you are in a group at the two-leg place." She explained, waiting to see if she was going to be corrected before moving on. "Why is your leader so interested in us?" She asked, resting her paws on her head to display how relaxed she was to the she-cat. With Duskpaw by her side, she feared no harm from Mara. She knew that Duskpaw would easily win if they were to fight. "Considering how often you visit, they seem very desperate."

Mara shrugged again and sat down, “well considering this cat being the size he is and now finding out that you survived-“ she mewed and pinned her ears back, “to no offense, he just highly doubted that you would.” She mewed and looked down slightly. But she looked up again at Duskpaw, “but I’m not visiting just to get you guys to join I want to get to know you guys..” she mewed shyly and closed her eyes with shame, knowing that’s not what she should’ve said.
Duskpaw scoffed slightly at her response and screwed his eyes up as he looked at her, “no, no. It seems like you need help. This leader is clearly power driven,” he mewed and looked over to Frostpaw, giving her a smirk. He took a few moments to think, maybe this group could work out to their advantage. But like Frostpaw brought up they would need to go to the two leg place and check out everything about this group they speak of.

Frostpaw doubted Mara's intentions but kept a neutral expression as the she-cat spoke, trying to think of what they could do. She was caught off guard when her brother spoke, though she tried not to show it. She studied him for a moment, she hadn't thought that such an idea would cross his mind. Though she did agree that it would open many opportunities for them. She looked back to Mara, "I also find this concerning. Is there a reason why your leader is trying to add more to his group? To go out of his way to help us, just in the hopes of finding more cats to recruit...He must have some kind of goal." Frostpaw flicked her tail and tilted her head. "Food? Maybe more territory? Either way, it seems that he has very little to offer us." She signed and studied Mara again, "especially if he is treating you so poorly that you are on the brink of tears." She shook her head, "With how I am now...I doubt he will find me of much use." She glanced Duskpaw, "but I fear what will happen if we stay out here." She said, giving him a sly look, playing up her perceived weakness. Perhaps this will cause Mara's leader to provide them with...more generous incentives.

Duskpaw shook his head, not knowing what to say to either of them. “There’s nothing but rubbish to eat in the two-leg place, he’s probably starving you all.” He pointed out and glanced at Frostpaw, “you need to heal properly before we go anywhere near the two-leg place.” He mewed strictly and looked back to Mara, “can’t you just runaway? I mean we’re no strangers to that.” He mewed with guilt and gave Frostpaw a side eye, hoping she wouldn’t take it to offense.
Mara titled her head as they spoke, thinking of a way to give them the answers they are looking for. She looked at Duskpaw, “why don’t you come with me to the twoleg place and ask him yourself? I mean, that’s where the answers lie.” She let out a long sigh and continued, “also if I ran away he’d just find me and rip my pelt off, or leave me without prey, or whatever he feels like.” She pointed out, not wanting to risk any punishment from Henry. He wasn’t a very nice tom and neither were any of the other cats in the group. There was no way to persuade them into the group, unless they ask Henry himself why he wants them. She tried to be convincing and she failed, if she was able to get the tom to go with her to see Henry, he would surely be satisfied.

Frostpaw gave her brother a stern look, disliking that he exposed that they were running from something, however, she silently thanked Starclan when the she-cat didn't seem to notice. She nodded along with what he said but Mara soon drew all of her attention. "I see...That does make thing difficult." She said closing her eyes. She looked to her brother as she continued to speak. "If this is the same cat that saved me, he would already know where we live...I would like to thank him myself so perhaps he could come here." She disliked the idea of Duskpaw going by himself, not only was Azreal lurking about, but what if he was attacked by this group? Frostpaw would be completely unable to help him, and would be probably dragged back to the clan by Owlwing...Leaving her brother to fend for himself. She wouldn't allow it. "I think that would be in the best interest of all parties. Also we could figure out how to help out poor Mara." She added, giving the black and white cat a sweet look- though she prioritized her brother and herself, Mara may become a good asset. She new the twoleg place after all, knowledge that the siblings lacked.

Duskpaw gave Frostpaw a confused look, but it quickly turned to surprise. He didn’t think his sister would want to see the tom. Duskpaw was so disoriented that day he barely remembered what he looked like, he really only remembered Mara. He looked back to Mara and shook his a head a bit at her, “that would be a good idea, it seems like it isn’t too far from here. Maybe you could get him to come soon?” He asked her, hoping it wouldn’t be an issue. It would be interesting to know the cats intentions.
Mara stood up, liking their idea. “That’d be a great idea, it’s not too far from here.” She mewed and gave them a smile before turning around taking off towards the two leg place. Going the fastest route she knew, feeling the wind in her fur as she ran. She slowed down before she reached the rogue camp, taking a deep breath so she didn’t seem out of breath to the leader. She already was made a fool earlier in the day she didn’t need it to happen again. She ignored the screeching and terrible scent of the cars and entered the camp to find Henry in the same place as earlier. Mara approached the tom but didn’t get too close, “the she-cat is unable to travel right now, but she would like to thank you herself for helping her.” She mewed bluntly.

Frostpaw remained neutral until Mara was gone, relaxing as soon as she could. "I hope that we can figure him out when he gets here." She mumbled under her breath, then looking to Duskpaw. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't allow you to go by yourself." She apologized, feeling a bit guilty for putting them in this situation. Still, she was happy that she had been somewhat helpful to Duskpaw. "What are you thinking? What would you like us to do?" She asked him, shifting onto her side as she spoke. She knew that Duskpaw wanted a safe and secure place to live, but honestly, the group seemed unsteady. Mara looked well fed but as Duskpaw had said, they were probably eating whatever they could find.
Henry watched Mara through narrow eyes when she returned. Not seeing the two other cats with her, he assumed she failed in her mission yet again. He jumped down and took long strides towards her, ready to chew her out yet again but he stopped when she spoke. He listened to her with great interest, a purr escaping his throat. "Finally, they see reason." He purred, "Oh Mara, you have done us proud." He told the she-cat glancing to the rest of the group, feeling glad that he will get a chance to extend their numbers, assuming all goes as plan. "I will bring another escort, do we have any volunteers?"
A large tom was the first to volunteer, trotting over beside Henry as the leader departed, allowing Mara to lead the way to the siblings.

Duskpaw lightly shrugged, “I wouldn’t have wanted to leave you anyway,” he reassured Frostpaw. He thought for a moment after she asked what he wanted them to do, because honestly he didn’t know. He felt like he usually had a plan, or an idea, but now he didn’t know. Frostpaw didn’t deserve to be in a rogue group, it would be nothing like clan life. Henry doesn’t sound like a pleasant cat and who knows what their intentions are. “I don’t know.. It isn’t going to be a pleasant lifestyle,” he suggested to her, it was the only thing he could thing of. “What are you thinking?”
Mara nodded and lead the way, finally feeling a bit proud for doing something right. She usually listened to his orders fine and never had any issues, but she got close to getting her muzzle clawed off today. She led the way into the trees and after trotting through the brush for a few moments the siblings were in sight. She keep leading the way until they were finally approaching them, she dipped her head at them and stepped to the side so Henry could speak to them.

Frostpaw gave her brother a smile, glad that he was intent to stay by her side. They needed to stick together more than ever, especially with these strange cats breathing down their necks. "Well, it would be a good way to recruit more members for our group- if you wanted to form a clan. We could also get information easily if they trust us." She mewed with confidence- this was what she was best at after all. She would leave all the hunting to Duskpaw if that meant she could spend the day strategizing. "Since they are trying so hard to get you to join, it sounds to me like they are trying to expand their territory. I'm worried that if we flat out refused, they would get more aggressive in their pursuit- possibly taking what we have here." She explained, looking at her paws as she processed the information. "Either way, we need more information. I'll stay quiet and act like I'm weak-it seems that you are who they are more interested in anyways." She glanced around to see if they were arriving, leaning closer to her brother. "If we end up finding ourselves within their group, I'll gather intel while you act as well-you. I'm sure that you will gather more attention than I will." She added with a whisper. She was sure that they would not stop harassing them until they got what they wanted. She also worried what would happen if they caught Owlwing or Morningstream-despite being from Isletclan, she doubted that the medicine cats could do much to defend themselves. "It would be best to seem only somewhat interested, just enough to make them relax until I'm healed."
Henry followed Mara with long strides, eager to talk to the two cats. In his many moons of life, he had only seen one cat that fought in such a way- that ginger tabby that had be left for dead after he saved the two younger cats. He gathered all the information he could on the cat- finding out that he had once been in his group moons ago. He was a forest cat, a cat trained to fight and hunt, however, the ginger tom had trouble getting accepted into most of the groups at the twoleg place. His past and personality left much to be desired. It was only natural for Henry to assume that these two cats were from similar cloth. However, they seemed smart and loyal, something that made it even more imperative to have them in his ranks. If the other group were to get their claws on them...He knew that they would lose whatever territory they had left. When they reached the fox den, he nodded in greeting to the two cats. He wasn't one to act friendly, but respectful was something he could do. "Hello, I'm glad to see that you are both doing so well." He greeted, sitting down.

Duskpaw nodded as Frostpaw spoke, she was making valid and logical reasoning for joining the group. He thought for a moment about everything she said before answering, “you’re absolutely right, we could use this to our advantage.” He replied to her before he noticed the cats approaching. Mara with the leader and a reddish tom. He waited for them to approach and make the first greeting, and to his surprise the leader seemed pleasant. Duskpaw observed the leader, he was large, but no bigger than Duskpaw under all of that fur. He then observed the other tom, who was larger than the leader and just about Duskpaws size. They both looked a bit rugged, as though you could tell they were from the two-leg place. As for Mara she was sleek and didn’t have many scars. Duskpaw focused on the leader once he spoke, thinking for a moment before replying. “Glad to see you're still interested in us joining, but I must ask why you want us to join.” He mewed bluntly but respectfully to the tom.

Frostpaw kept herself close to her brother, allowing his size to make her look as small as possible. When Duskpaw spoke, she interjected, trying her best to use a sweet tons. She tried to recall how Morningstream spoke when treating patients, kind and soft. “Brother, you’re being rude.” She told him in a hushed tone, as if she was offended by what he said. It took all she had to not cringe at the sound of her own voice, vastly different than her usual calm and composed voice. She silently prayed that Duskpaw wouldn’t tease her about it for the rest of their lives. She looked to Henry. “My apologies for my brother’s forwardness. Thank you for saving me.” She said sweetly, taking the chance to give Mara a smile as well. This would be a good test to see how loyal Mara was. Would she point out how different they were acting?
Henry gave the siblings a smile. “Ah, you’re siblings then.” He said with a purr, though he found it more of a hinderance. As many said, blood is thicker than water. It would be near impossible to convince only one of them to join. He looked to Duskpaw; after the she-cat had been so open about how the two were related, it was easy to conclude that she was a cat that would be easier to manipulate. The tom however seemed more likely to stand his ground. “As for your question,” he began, his white tail wrapping around his legs, the other tom sat down as well, seeming to relax. “I saw how you fought those dogs. Any cat would be a fool to ignore such talent. We act as a group, hunting and sharing prey, protecting each other; we lean on each other to survive. I’m sure you could imagine why I would want to recruit a cat such as yourself. I promise your sister would be well cared for.”

Duskpaw put his ears back slightly at Frostpaw, surprised she thought he was being rude. He thought he worded it quite nicely, but it came to no surprise she was acting the way she was. She was no fool to covering who she is, and with the life they were living it was no big deal. He turned to the white and grey tom and softened his surprised expression. “Well.. In order to fully know you want us to join, then I’m sure you could wait til my sister here can travel.” He mewed to the tom, keeping eye contact as they spoke. He didn’t want to take Frostpaw to the two-leg place while she’s still healing; she could easily attract an infection and who knows what else. Also Owlwing and Morningstream will wonder where they are, possibly coming to the two-leg place where it’s dangerous for a couple of medicine cats. Duskpaw silently hoped he gave the tom an answer that he was looking for, if things went sideways he didn’t know what he’d do. He glanced over to Frostpaw to see her expression, hoping she too liked his answer.

Henry watched the two for a moment before nodding. "Very well. The day of the next quarter moon (a week after the gathering), my son and Mara will come to escort you. Surely that would be enough time?" He asked, eying Frostpaw for a moment, gauging how injured she was. "Mara will continue to come check on you two. I'm sure your poor sister would appreciate the company." He added with a purr, turning all of his attention back to Duskpaw. "I hate the idea of leaving such a vulnerable she-cat by herself while you hunt. We will help you both in anyway we can." He once again dipped his broad head in farewell, standing up and turning, his white tail fanning to the side as an order for the two escorts to follow him. After some time while walking back to the two-leg place, he spoke. "Mara, I expect those two to be wanting to join us as soon as that she-cat can walk." He ordered, eyes staying ahead of himself, "I don't care if you make friends with them or scared them into our paws. That tom could help us take the half bridge place back from those mouse-brained brutes. If you want to start eating something other than rotten twoleg filth, I suggest that you make sure you do this task right."
Frostpaw mewed a friendly farewell as she watched the cats leave. Once they seemed a safe distance away, she dropped the friendly look for her typical neutral expression. She glanced to her brother and sighed before once again pitching up her voice to be sickly sweet. "Oh big brother, I was sooo scared of those scary cats. Thank Starclan that you were there to protect me!" She said in a whiny voice, feigning fright. She then released a small hiss, glaring at the spot where the three cats stood just a few moments to go. "He didn't even talk to me. I didn't know that the leader of such a 'scary' group would have toads for brains." She grumbled, feeling insulted that she had been taken so lightly, despite that being her intention in the first place. "We have to make sure that Mara doesn't show up after sun down." She added, still looking at the area of the forest that the cats disappeared in.

Mara twitched her tail at Henry’s orders, she was becoming to recognize how smart the two cats really are. They know what they’re doing, whatever Mara says or does won’t change their plan. She still nodded at Henry so he knew she heard him so he wouldn’t yell at her. She wondered why he was being so generous to the cats, he wouldn’t even be that kind so his own blood.
Duskpaw shrugged, “I’m sure that’s plenty of time,” he mewed and smiled at Frostpaw. They watched the cats leave and Frostpaw spoke first, he let out a giggle at her silly response to the cats. “Don’t worry you’ll be one of them some day,” he teased. He wondered what the rogues real intentions were, he assumed it had to do with territory. Finding more cats to recruit to make the group as strong as possible. The thoughts dissolved once Frostpaw brought up Mara, he looked to her seriously, “I doubt she would.” He mewed. He looked up to the sky, it was becoming dusk. “Well we might as well get some sleep since we’ll be up half the night.” Duskpaw suggested to her.

Frostpaw was slow to react, trying to figure out what they should do next. She felt that the leader was not telling the truth, not fully at least. "I'm worried that we bit off more than we can chew." She said with a sigh, finally taking a moment to look back at Duskpaw. "Yes, you're right. I just hope that we are making the right decision." She told him, taking a final glance back to where Henry was a few moments ago. Why would a cat from the twoleg place be trying to build an army? She released a sign. It wasn't worth the worry right now. They some time to make a plan, though having the she-cat come bugging them every single day until then could pose as a problem. Frostpaw could only train when she wasn't around. Starclan knows if she would report everything back to her group, or if the group would watch them from the shadows. It made her frustrated but she said nothing. Maybe Duskpaw could distract the she-cat or something. She adjusted herself to allow Duskpaw to be able to help her move with greater ease, rest was the best option for them right now.

Duskpaw nodded in agreement, “we might have, but we’ll come up with a plan after we sleep.” He mewed and gave her a smile. They might have bitten off more than they could chew, but maybe they made a good choice. They were smart cats, and who knows what they could get away with together. He brushed his thoughts away and helped her into the den, curling up next to her.

Frostpaw tried her best to remain steady as she stalked closer to the shrew that sat in the grass only two tail lengths ahead of her. She tried her best to remember the exercises that Owlwing made her do, using her shoulders and hips to balance herself to make up for the lack of her tail. She struggled to keep her steps light, having to make each move forward painfully slow. All of her instincts begged her to hurry up, wanting to feel the thrill of the hunt again, but she fought against the urge to pounce. As soon as she was close enough, the she-cat pounced, finding herself leaning towards one side, she tried to compensate by twisting her body more than she was used to, able to correct herself and land on top of the shrew, delivering a killing bite. She purred loudly. It was the first shrew she had caught in the past few days of attempting to hunt. She glanced around, noting that Duskpaw was still out further in the forest. It would be best to wait for him so she could show off her prize.

Mara took a deep breath of the forest air as she was on her way to see the two unnamed cats. That’s what she refers to them as in her head, since they refuse to tell her their name. She feels like she has made somewhat friends with them, the black haired tom was just flat out stubborn. Truth is it had been a few days since she visited them, she had lied to a Henry about it. She was getting close to the den and she noticed the she-cat up on her feet with a vole, “great catch!” Mara mewed enthusiastically to her. “How have you been?” She asked the small she-cat. They two siblings didn’t believe that Mara genuinely wanted to be their friends, she put aside her normal ways to be kind to them but she couldn’t figure out why.

Frostpaw was on her way to drop the shrew by the den when she heard Mara's voice. She stopped walking and looked at the cat, before dropping the prey into the ferns that sat outside of the den. She glanced around, trying to find the scents of any other cats. She then asked Mara the same question she asked every time. "Hello Mara, I'm well. Is it just you today?" She kept her voice as sweet as can be, not wanting prying ears to find out that she had been less than honest with the leader of the group. She always made a habit to ask Mara if she was alone, so far she always has been, Duskpaw never noticing any other cats lurking about, but she wanted to be cautious. When she was happy with the response, she laid down in front of the den and began to groom herself, ignoring the she-cat. Duskpaw was always more inclined to talk to her- though it was normally to tell her to leave. While Frostpaw often didn't bother speaking to the strange she-cat, when she did, she always remained calm and polite. After some time, Frostpaw eventually spoke. "I hope you will keep me hunting a secret." She told the she-cat, looking at her with a stern expression.

Mara sat down once the mottled she-cat questioned her, “yes I’m alone, I take my chances to be alone.” She mewed and began to lick her paws, thinking about what she wanted to say. The mottled she-cat didn’t like to talk much but the black haired tom was getting a bit friendlier. Mara shrugged at her comment, “no problem. Once you join the group you’ll see I stray away from everyone. I’m not dying to tell everyone about you guys,” she mewed to the she-cat and continued to lick her paws. Not only did she not like many cats in the group, the cats didn’t share much information about themselves. So there was no one to gossip to or anything to gossip about. But she didn’t mind, hanging around the cats was nice, because she didn’t have to hear the constant noise of the monsters. Sometimes she could get a piece of good prey on the way back to the two-leg place, but she had to remind herself that fairly soon the cats would be going to the two-leg place with her. Mara looked at Frostpaw, interrupting her own thoughts. “I hope neither of you are excited to join the group…” she trailed off and looked at the ground, “I’m assuming Henry has something in mind. Something to do with territory, and he wants your brother for whatever reason.” She mewed, trying to make conversation but she also wanted to talk to the she-cat about it and see what she thought. The black haired tom obviously had a lot to offer to Henry, it worried Mara that maybe it was just all about power to Henry.

Frostpaw kept a close eye on Mara as she spoke, taking in her body language and expressions. Her ears remained upright and alert, ready, indicating how ready she was to react if needed. She narrowed her eyes. Was Mara truly an unimportant cat to the group? Or was we just trying to trick the siblings. "If you are so insignificant to your group, how come they keep sending you to us?" She asked, crossing her paws. She ignored the cat's statement regarding if the siblings where excited to become members of the group. She didn't want to give the she-cat a way to figure out what their plan was. She did take note of what Mara warned them of. She would have to be sure to discuss it with Duskpaw when she got the chance. "Surely if your leader was so intent to have us join, he would use more intimidating cats? Why send a she-cat that is almost in tears every time she arrives here?" She added. She was sure Mara was trying to become friends with them to convince them to join. She had seen Azreal use such a tactic, and they were from the same place. Perhaps the two cats were one in the same.

Mara felt her pelt grow hot with irritation from the she-cats comment, “I’m not insignificant,” she mewed, trying her best not to lose her temper. “Henry chose me for this job for a reason- maybe since I already don’t lie to you I could tell you a bit about myself?” She said sarcastically and lifted her paw to her chest. “I thought maybe being honest and my true self to you two would be best, instead of being the manipulative liar most know me to be. I could tell you both could see right through me,” she mewed and put her paw down, looking around her surroundings. She was even unsure if someone had followed her, the cats in the group were sneaky and untrustworthy. She stood up and shook her pelt off, “don’t worry, if you think all of these things about me, just wait until you meet the others,” she gave the she-cat a smile. Mara decided that the she-cat could find out for herself, what did it matter to her? Was she even really herself? Mara didn’t even know herself, let alone if this was her own self.

Frostpaw watched the she-cat's out burst with minimal reactions, though her eyes would shift to catch different aspects of how the cat moved. Her tail, paws, ears even down to her breathing- Frostpaw made a point to take in each and every aspect. She would not be fooled by shallow niceties again. The cat claimed that she was a liar elsewhere but truthful in front of the siblings, why would Frostpaw bother to believe her. She switched her paws and tilted her head at the she-cat, ignoring the smile. "If you aren't insignificant, then what are you?" She asked boldly, her tone challenging the she-cat to prove her wrong. She didn't care what the rest of the group was like, she was only planning to use them for information. The only cats she could trust were back on the island, save for her brother. "I think that it's just that you are young and pretty and your leader assumes my brother to be bold and dumb." She added, though she was not angry. It made sense, part of her could respect it. However, if Mara honestly believed that she was being seen as an equal by her leader, she was mistaking. He was simply treating her as a reminder to the siblings that he would not let them go. Part of her wondered if he was trying to use the she-cat as a threat. If Mara were to make the wrong move, or report that the siblings were refusing to join, would they wake up to find her body in front of their den in the morning. The thought of the she-cat's bloodied corpse caused the image of Foxspots to flash in Frostpaw's mind. The feeling of teeth in her flesh and the sounds of her claws scraping against the wooden fence soon followed. The she-cat felt her pelt grow hot, but she focused on a small pebble in front of her paws to refocus. She couldn't show weakness not now. She she felt steady again, she glanced past Mara and to the forest, wondering if Mara truly was alone, and if Duskpaw would be back soon.

Mara sat down again facing the mottled she-cat, fighting the urge to roll her eyes at the ridiculous questions. She could sit here all day trying to prove her significance, but the she-cat would be irrelevant to her once this whole thing was over. “I don’t think I need to prove my significance to you,” she mewed to the she-cat. She had spent a long time trying to be some sort of significance after her mom had disappeared out of the blue, she wasn’t going to prove her worth to some she-cat who didn’t really care. “Also, if he thought your brother was dumb he would be insignificant to Henry. Regardless, what are you if you don’t want to show that you can hunt?” She asked the she-cat and tilted her head, curious to her odd behavior.

Frostpaw shook her head, Duskpaw could be dumber than a minnow and the group would still benefit from having him. He was a large cat that knew how to survive and fight, what more could they ask for. When the cat asked why she wanted to hide that she could hunt, Frostpaw examined her, trying to find out her motive. The small cat sighed and shifted onto her side. "Clever." She responded, looking back out to the woods. As long as she remained irrelevant, it would be easy to find things out. No one would bother to look at the small, weak she-cat that was tagging along with her much more impressive brother. "If I find out that you spoke a word of this to anyone, I will make sure that you're leader knows that you weren't here for several days." She said quietly, still looking for her brother amongst the undergrowth.
