So, we've all had that feeling where we wish a certain character had handled things differently, so this got me thinking: what would you do in their situation? The topic will change few days and I encourage all of you to think carefully and weigh in the pros and cons of each decision before making your choice.
Past scenarios:
Scenario #14: The former deputy—your loved one—was killed by a Clanmate so they could become deputy instead. After a long and arduous journey, you've finally managed to avenge your loved one by exposing their murderer's treachery to all the Clans. But is it enough? While chasing them off Clan territory yourself, you see an opportunity to kill them, or you could let them go, but risk their return or the murderer being a danger to someone else.
What do you do?
Past scenarios:
Scenario #1: You find out your mentor has murdered the Clan deputy. Do you tell your Clan leader immediately or not? And if so, how do you prove it to them?
Result: More people wouldn't tell their leader until they had evidence.
Scenario #2: Your new leader has started breaking the warrior code, such as training kits early, eating before the queens and elders, and stealing prey from other Clans as well as shedding needless bloodshed. Recently, there's been talk of your leader wanting to drive out another Clan altogether, saying that it means more prey for your own Clan. Do you obey your leader, go against your leader—and if so, how, or abandon your Clan?
Result: More people would rebel.
Scenario #3: You find out your Clanmate has fallen in love with a cat from another Clan. They seem happy together, but it's against the warrior code and there's been so much tension with their mate's Clan already. Do you try to persuade them to break the relationship off, tell your leader, or just not get involved at all?
Result: More people wouldn't get involved at all.
Scenario #4: Time for a perspective flip! You fall in love with a cat from another Clan while tensions between your two Clans are high. Do you move to your mate's Clan, try to convince your mate to move to your Clan, continue meeting in secret, break things off, or run away together?
Result: More people would try to convince their mate to move to their Clan; this one actually surprised me, though breaking things off was in second.
Scenario 5: You've just become Clan deputy after the previous one died due to a harsh leaf-bare, and during a Gathering, your Clan leader has agreed to the demands of another Clan to give up a strip of land. They have kits and elders to care for, of course, but so does your own Clan, and newleaf won't come for at least another moon. Do you show your support, publicly disagree, or show your support and privately disagree?
Results: This one was a tie! More people would either support their leader publicly, but disagree with them privately and keep their thoughts to themselves, or do the same thing and try to convince their leader to change their mind.
Scenario #6: After your Clan has faced so much tragedy, including the recent loss of your leader, you're approached by the leader of a rival Clan, who wishes to unite all the Clans into one. No more fighting over prey or borders, and everyone is free to love whoever they want. However, there is also the possibility of the other leader having ulterior motives. Do unite, don't unite, or try to do a bit of investigating first before coming to a decision?
Result: More people would investigate before coming to a decision.
Scenario #7: A patrol encounters a sick cat on your Clan's territory and you, as a medicine cat, wish to heal them. Unfortunately, you are forbidden from doing so by your leader since the sick cat is a rogue that has been hunting on your Clan's territory and your leader doesn't think it's worth it. Do you obey your leader, heal them anyway, or convince your leader to let you heal them so long as certain conditions are put in place?
Result: More people would heal the rogue.
Scenario #8: You're the deputy of your Clan and are also in a forbidden relationship with a cat from another Clan. Your mate wishes to leave the Clans altogether after they've been devastated by a rogue attack, hoping to find someplace safer, and asks you to go with them, but you know your Clan needs you. Do you go with your mate, let them go while you help your Clan rebuild, or try to convince them to stay and potentially join your Clan?
Result: More people would try to convince their mate to stay.
Scenario #9: You—the Clan's only medicine cat—are not only expecting kits, but they also belong to a cat from another Clan, one who your own Clan is currently at war with. Tensions are also running high internally after your parent and leader has only recently taken in some outsiders to increase the Clan's numbers and several of your Clanmates have made their disapproval known already and there currently aren't any queens in the nursery, but your mate's Clan does.
Do you risk your Clan's fury by telling them the truth (and if so, do you step down), only tell your leader and ask them to keep it a secret, give birth in secret and take your kits to their father's Clan, give birth in secret and pretend you found the kits, or give birth in secret and abandon your kits?
Result: More people would tell the Clan, but not step down.
Scenario #10: Time for another perspective flip! You're the leader of your Clan and your Clan's head medicine cat has recently died. Luckily, you still have another, one who is also your daughter, except they've just revealed to the rest of the Clan that she's expecting kits from a Clan your own is currently at war with. To make things more complicated, the rest of your Clanmates already aren't too keen on you allowing outsiders to join, so the chances of them just accepting these forbidden kits are unlikely.
Do you hope for the best and keep the kits, take the kits to the father's Clan whether your daughter likes it or not, banish your daughter or have her step down after a new medicine cat has been trained and keep the kits, have your daughter step down immediately, banish your daughter immediately, essentially banishing the kits as well, or banish her after the kits are born, regardless after a new medicine cat has been trained or not, or do you keep the kits?
Result: More people would ask her to step down after a new medicine cat has been trained and keep the kits
Scenario #11: You and your mate have just broken up and you decide to relax with some friends, one of whom you know has a crush on you, but it's unrequited. Your other friends encourage you to try and give them a chance despite this and you're not even sure whether you still have feelings for your former mate or not. What do you do?
Result: More people would ask their friends to back off and let their admirer down gently
Scenario 12: Ever since you were apprentices together, you've felt like your best friend has outshined you in everything, whether it ne hunting or fighting or just general popularity within the Clan itself. Recently, they've also become mates with a cat you yourself also had feelings for and there's talk of them becoming deputy one day.
One night, you're visited by someone who you initially think is a StarClan cat, except they don't have stars in their fur like you thought they would. But they seem nice, even sympathetic to your plight, and they promise to help you be just as good—if not better—than your best friend.
Do you accept?
Result: More people would accept
Scenario #13: You find out that your mate of several seasons has been cheating on you. What do you do?
Result: More people would break up with their mate
Result: More people wouldn't tell their leader until they had evidence.
Scenario #2: Your new leader has started breaking the warrior code, such as training kits early, eating before the queens and elders, and stealing prey from other Clans as well as shedding needless bloodshed.
