Oakwhisper didn't find the trail around where she had gone and decided to backtrack the way she came, to see if she could pick of cloudpaw's trail. she hoped she didn't have to go to far back along the way she came, but she kept her senses open, pausing every now and then to scent the air.

Cloudpaw eventually reaches the Love Fields. He was moving a little faster than before, and he was more relaxed. He looks over the large flower field, when he spots a tall plant with yellow flowers on it. He pauses, frowning a little. What was goldenrod again? he wonders. A tall plant with bright yellow flowers flashed through his mind. His eyes light up. He's found goldenrod! And it wasn't in the forest! It seems goldenrod is found in the Love Fields. He rushes out, not noticing a black bear emerging from the Tall Forest not far from where he emerged. It's eyes were locked on the young medicine cat apprentice, who only had eyes for the goldenrod.
Cloudpaw places the burdock root and mouse down, and bites at the base of the goldenrod plant, pulling up. He uproots the whole plant, gently placing it down beside the rest of his find. He looks down at his findings proudly. He was able to find everything he needed with very little effort today. Coldmoon shakes his head. "No, it's alright. I've been feeling a little uneasy today, but I'm sure it's nothing. Maybe I'm just feeling a little ill. I'll have Oakwhisper check me when she returns. You go give the prey to the elders. I'm sure they're hungry." The blind tom frowns a little, wondering why he was feeling so uneasy. He was sure there'd be nothing wrong that could happen on the territory, but you could never be lax with things like this. Maybe he should talk to Blackice when his beloved mate returns. Coldmoon looks lost in thought. |

Oakwhisper backtracked along the way she came and searching around the area until she found cloudpaw’s trail, she figured she missed it before due to the herbs she had been carrying. She wasn’t sure what way to follow the trail, but decided to follow the trail toward the love fields on a whim of hoping he had gone that way to look for herbs. Oakwhisper didn’t rush at first as she followed the trail, but the longer she followed it the more she took notice of another scent, one she didn’t quite recognize but it was not the scent of another cat. it made her fur bristle and she found herself running alongside the scent trails.

Redpaw nodded, mostly to himself. “It is leaf-fall, but hopefully you’re not sick. Dewspark might still be in camp, since oakwhisper’s out by the way.” Redpaw replied since he was told cats tended to get sick more during leaf-fall and leaf-bare. He picked up the plump prey and mumbled a goodbye around it, before he left the nursery and headed back down the path toward the elder’s den. Not wanting to make the elder’s much longer if they hadn’t eaten today. |

IC: Aspenwhisker gets herself into position and prepares herself. She hoped that she would be able to lunge forward and pin down the rabbit. However, she was fully prepared to run after said rabbit in case the creature escaped her somehow. She flexes her claws in the dirt and keeps a close watch on the rabbit.

All I can say is poor Cloudpaw. He's going to be out of commission for a while. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IC:
Cloudpaw gathers the herbs and mouse. He frowns as he wonders how he's going to get everything back to camp. It was a little too much to carry, and although he's not a small tom, he's definitely unable to carry everything in his mouth, and he didn't want to mix the mouse in with the two herbs. With only the burdock root, it was manageable, but now, he wasn't so sure.
Cloudpaw was upwind from the bear, so he didn't smell it as he moved closer to him. He also wasn't concentrating on his surroundings, so he didn't hear the bear coming up behind him. Suddenly the wind changed direction, and he's immediately downwind from the bear. Scenting something strange in the air, he takes a deep sniff. It was an animal he'd never come across before. Twirling around, he faces the large bear.

The bear swipes Cloudpaw, and the late-to-react white tom is immediately hit. Cloudpaw yelps in pain as he's thrown away. The bear's claws didn't manage to draw blood, as the tom quickly shifted his weight when he was hit, allowing him to be relatively unharmed. He heard a pop when he was hit. The bear's claws snagged his hind leg, dislocating it at the hip. The bear rushes over to Cloudpaw, as the tom struggles to his feet. His hind right leg hung uselessly. Limping, Cloudpaw grits his teeth. He needed to stay strong to survive. Using his other three limbs, he tries to run towards the bear. Not being used to only three limbs, Cloudpaw doesn't do a good job, and crashes to the ground. Grunting, Cloudpaw could only glare as the bear reached him. It smashes a paw down onto Cloudpaw. So the bear wouldn't smash his spine, he lay more on his side, trying to use his right front paw to block as much as he could. He was lying at an awkward angle, and the force of the blow dislocates his right paw at the elbow and his left front paw at the shoulder. With three limbs dislocated, Cloudpaw could only lay there. He closes his eyes.

Coldmoon curls up, closing his eyes. He hoped his bad feeling would go away, but it seemed to grow. It started ever since he heard Cloudpaw had left camp without anyone. Blackice enters the cave, padding over to his mate. He notices something off about Coldmoon, and frowns.
"What's wrong?" he asks calmly.
"I think something's going to happen..."
"To who?" he asks.
"Cloudpaw. I've had this bad feeling ever since I heard he ran out of camp... Please check up on him."
"Okay." Blackice leaves the cave immediately. He looks out over the territory. You could see pretty well from the caves all until the Tall Forest. He spots something happening in the Love Fields. He notices Cloudpaw and a bear behind him. Snarling, Blackice bounds down the cliff, leaping off the paths onto the ones further down, rather than running the full length. Dustleap moves as close to the rabbit as he can, before leaping forward. The rabbit is startled from a yelp in the distance, and runs in the direction he wanted it to; towards Aspenwhisker. Dustleap runs behind it, snapping at it. He doesn't notice the yelp, as he was so focused on the rabbit. |

She didn’t pause in her run until she reached the edge of the tall forest that looked out over the love fields. She looked over the fields, but it didn’t take much to see a black bear in the fields, she didn’t see cloudpaw due to the bear’s bulking size but she knew he came this way and a white tom would stand out in the fields. She didn’t know how to fight and didn’t trust her skills in that against a black bear, which caused her to hesitate.

He shook it off and focused on what he was doing or where he was going anyway. He could ask about it when they got back if he remembered. Once, he reached the bottom of the path he padded over to the elder’s cave and stepped inside. He set the prey down, so he could speak. “Good morning,” Redpaw greeted the elders, adding. “I brought prey if you haven’t eaten yet.” |

Blackice started moving as soon as he saw the black bear behind his daughter's son. He moves fast for a large tom, and reaches Cloudpaw as the bear aims that second blow at the white tom. Blackice leaps, landing on the bear. He digs his claws into the bear, causing the bear to roar in anger. Blackice twists his body, so that the bear would be unbalanced, before releasing the bear, and jumping off. He lands in front of Cloudpaw, snarling at the large beast.
The bear in a rage, attacks Blackice. The black tom, although adept at night attacks, knew he didn't have the advantage of night with him, but could still hold his own against the heavy-set opponent. He weaves near and far, making sure the bear is unable to touch him, all the while, bringing it away from Cloudpaw.
Cloudpaw groans in pain. Tears filled his eyes, as he could only watch the much older black tom fight the bear.

Doesong looks up at Redpaw. "Hello, dear. How are you today?" she asks warmly. She nudges her mate Darkblaze. "Honey, wake up. Redpaw has brought us food. He's so kind."
Darkblaze wakes up, feeling grouchy. "What's happening outside?" he asks in annoyance. He loved to learn what happened outside the cave. If the clan was in trouble in any way, he was sure to help out, so any information about the outside world was what Darkblaze liked the most when waking up in the morning. "I hope there's a lot of blood and gore today."
Doesong frowns. "Darkblaze," she scolds. "Don't talk like that. It would be best if the clan remained peaceful." She turns her gaze back to Redpaw. "Now, what have you brought us today? And has anything interesting happened?" |

IC: Aspenwhisker waits until the rabbit is close before lunging forward and digging her claws into the rabbit. She hoped with her momentum to get the creature on the ground. Once she had the rabbit pinned, she bites down on the rabbit's neck and holds on tightly until the creature stops struggling and finally dies. She pulls back and lifts her head in triumph. "We did it!" She never got tired of delivering the final blow and claiming her prize.

As Darkblaze walks out of the cave, he notices a large black figure in the Love Fields. "A bear?" he mutters, frowning. "How does no one in camp notice this?" He hurries over. Despite being called the bear hunter, Darkblaze is old now, and not as strong, nor as fast as he used to be. |

The two siblings lay side by side near the fresh-kill pile, a squirrel resting in front of them as they shared it. Cleargaze had already gone out today and he had made sure to catch the one they now shared, knowing squirrel was his sister's favorite. Songstar was still trying to sleep. She curled her body, so that she didn't feel the wind. The wind did settle down eventually, and she fell into a light sleep. Her black pelt seemed to glow in the dark cave. Eventually, the sun rose higher, and Songstar could slowly feel the heat rising within the cave. Sighing happily, she rolls over onto her back, her leg kicking a little, as she falls into a deeper sleep. She felt so relaxed. Her ears and whiskers twitch now and then, and her mouth alternates randomly between staying closed or remaining open. She was fully relaxed which is why her sleeping posture was so open. Coldmoon was worried. He hoped Blackice and Cloudpaw would be okay. Ever since he woke up, he had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, but he didn't think anything of it. That was, until he'd heard that Cloudpaw had run off on his own. Coldmoon always could tell if something wrong would happen to one of his family members. Cloudpaw, as socially challenged as he may be, was the son of his beloved daughter, and he didn't want to grieve for a kit that was still an apprentice, nor did he want his daughter to fall apart.
Cloudpaw and Fawnpaw were Clearleaf's everything... apart from her mate, of course. Though he doesn't approve of Dustleap, he refuses to say anything, and decides to silently support his beloved daughter no matter what. Just like Clearleaf, Coldmoon only had the one son and daughter. He felt he didn't have to worry much about Molewhisker. Despite the large tom's mischievous nature (he has no idea where that personality came from, when he and Blackice were far from mischievous), Molewhisker was rather independent. It was Clearleaf that was dependant on others emotionally. The she-cat was too kind and gentle. She simply didn't have a vicious bone in her body, which was quite unusual for a cat. She even says a silent prayer every time she kills prey. The blind tom sighs. He has no idea what to do with his small family; not when they were so protective of him, and he was stuck in the nursery all the time.

After his morning patrol around the territory with Molewhisker, Mottlebreeze returned to the camp, and rests near the fresh kill pile. He didn't want to go hunting since it was such a warm morning, and he didn't think there was any need to be on guard. He wouldn't be able to catch anything anyway, since his deafness leads to an imbalance in his hearing. The small tom usually loves to be up and running, but today, he just wanted to relax. He curls up in the sun, his tail covering his nose. Only his left ear was perked up, since it's the only ear he can hear out of. Cleargaze had been resting in camp for most the day, having gone out at dawn to do a quick hunt. He had made it back to camp just as the sun began to dry the dew from grass with a mouse and a vole hanging from his jaws, his pawsteps even and deliberate as he walked. He may be blind, but he knew the territory well, ever nook and crevice was ingrained in his memory just as much as his own name and his love for his sister. He was resting now, sitting in camp while he idly groomed his odd hued fur until the scent of Mottlebreeze caught his attention and he stood, shaking out his fur before making his way over to the other. "Hello Mottlebreeze, how are you doing today?" His voice was even and calm, and he made sure to come up on the tom's left side so they could hear him. |

Oakwhisper began to physical check him over, if three of his legs were broken, he would be moved to the elder's den early as even a medicine cat can't do their job probably with only one working leg. she careful ran a paw along each leg and sighed to herself, none of the bones felt broken and cloudpaw's legs didn't have the odd angle that sometimes signified broken bones. "i don't think you have any broken bones, which it quite lucky." Oakwhisper informed the tom, not able to imagine what having three injured legs felt like. but she also felt awful if they were dislocated, because she would need to relocate the joints. "i don't want to relocate your joints here, but i may have too and if i do, you'll have to be strong." Oakwhisper doubted she be able to carry cloudpaw far enough away from the fighting bear and blackice, but the thought of the bear nearby helped her decide quickly to at least try.

"don't worry doesong, i'll stay safe even if i do need to leave the camp for anything." redpaw promised, though he had done so more then once out of excitement yet not quite as often as cloudpaw had. Redpaw did however like the idea of talking with the other elders even if it meant getting mouse bile for ticks, he liked listening to the stories they told whether they be true events or made up. "Hopefully dewspark is still in camp for mouse bile if so." Redpaw hadn't seen the tom this morning, but there was a good chance he had missed him, plus he had no idea how to make or get mouse bile himself. Redpaw dipped his head politely to doesong, before moving over to the still dozing elders. |

Don't forget, he used to be a fully-fledged warrior too, so he can give you some pointers if you'd like." Mottlebreeze's rapid-fire questions weren't hindered by his slow-moving brain. Despite the fact that he wasn't really thinking about what he was saying, his words were pretty coherent. His right ear, as usual, was flopped down. Blackice was still pulling the bear away from Oakwhisper and Cloudpaw, heading towards the Tall Forest.
Cloudpaw nods. He didn't want his career as a medicine cat to end so soon, so he was glad he didn't have any broken bones. "I'll bear it if you have to set it here...but I'd still like a stick..." Doesong nods. "That's good." Doesong pauses for a bit, before adding, "Redpaw, mousebile is from a sack in the mouse. It's the smelliest part of the mouse, so you won't mistake it for anything else. Just in case you don't know where to find it." She curls up again when Redpaw walks away.
Darkblaze moves towards the Love Fields as fast as he can, but he's much slower now. Dustleap nods, before leaping in the direction of the Tall Forest. He hoped nothing was wrong. He'd heard a cat yelp, and it sounded a lot like his son though, so he was quite worried. He didn't say anything to Aspenwhisker though. He didn't want her to worry. I pray to the Stars that Cloudpaw is alright. Please keep him safe, ancestors, he begs in his mind as he ran. |

The tom gave a light chuckle as he was bombarded with question after question, turning to look right at Mottlebreeze even though he couldn't actually see the other tom. "I'm glad you're doing good. I'm fine today as well." He decided to simply answer each question in order, that way it would make more sense. "Yes, I've gone hunting. I caught a mouse and a vole. I haven't visited COldmoon in a bit no, though I think I'm doing fine without the advice. Anyways, kind of hard to get advice from others since they don't actually know how it is to hunt and learn things blind." He laid down now, pulling his paws underneath him so he was in a loaf position, his ears pricked for any signs of others approaching the two. |

"That may be so for the other hunters, but don't forget, Coldmoon's blind too, and he used to be a hunter. Unfortunately he ended up being Blackice's destined mate, and after having Molewhisker and Clearleaf, Blackice refused to let him leave the Nursery Cave, so he ended up a fully fledged Queen. He does like to go out hunting every now and then, but it's been a while. Maybe you can ask him if he wants to hunt with you. I'm sure he'd enjoy it. Frankly, Blackice coddles him too much. Yes, Coldmoon did end up nearly falling off the cliff a few times because the other cats were too overboard when they went past, and yes, Coldmoon did run into things sometimes, but overall, he's a really good hunter with an extremely sharp nose. If he didn't, he wouldn't be a specialised fish hunter." Mottlebreeze spoke without stopping for a breath, so he was pretty winded by the time he finished. "How are you doing? In regards to hunting, I mean. And did you scent anything different when you went hunting? I was just wondering, because I'm not sure who was supposed to be on patrol next. Molewhisker did the whole handover while I did an extra run around the perimeter of the territory." |

Cleargaze mentally slapped himself for forgetting that Coldmoon was indeed blind as well. "Sorry, I forgot that he was as well. Not being able to see means I forgot certain things about others now and then. You know, out of sight out of mind." The tom gave a small chuckle. "Maybe I will invite him for a hunt. I'm sure he's itching to get out of the nursery and do something. As for scents, no, I didn't smell anything out of the ordinary. I'm doing pretty well hunting wise as well, I have almost the entire territory mapped out in my head so that I don't have to worry about falling or running into anything when I go out."

"i'll look for one, but i can't promise i'll find one here, ok?" Oakwhisper replied, considering there wasn't any trees in the love fields and the only trees were toward tall forest. however the bear and blackice were toward the tall forest, so she didn't want to go that way and risk drawing the bear's attention. she turned away from the tom and stayed nearby looking through the field for any sticks or twigs that may have fell or got brought into the field. she doubted any had and her doubts were somewhat proven, though she didn't dare go further then a fox length from cloudpaw while she searched. she returned to the tom after searching in a circle around cloudpaw within a fox length and shook her head in a silent answer of not finding any sticks or even a twig.

Redpaw listened to doesong tell him where the mouse bile was in a mouse, now that he thought about it made sense that's what it was. he'd have to remember that information or at least, try to remember anyway. he padded over to the dozing elders and hoped they wouldn't be too annoyed or upset at being woken if they hadn't woken this morning yet. |

Whitefeather, Stormheart and Owlsong were all resting together. They wouldn't mind if Redpaw interrupted their sleep, since it was more like a nap anyway. The three siblings were nearing the end of their lifespan, so they slept more than they stayed awake. It was unknown if they'd be able to last the leaf-bare. |

IC: Aspenwhisker follows behind Dustleap as they headed towards the Tall Trees. She keeps her eyes open in case they needed to spring into action. Aspenwhisker wasn't much of a fighter but she would do her best. She knew the basics all the very least. Her motto was claw it until it gives up or dies.
