(By the way! I was sort of thinking that the reason why StarClan is guiding her is because she was chosen to be one of the medicine cats of the future clan? And even though she's never known anything about herbs, it's like this one spirit in particular guides her, like appears in front of her as if they were watching over her, guiding her about what to do. If that sounds ok! c: )

A warm smile lit Winter's muzzle, she sighed in relief, thankful that Chervil didn't find her crazy. In truthfulness, the blue molly found herself to be a bit crazy at the moment! But, she was steeled with the determination that eventually, she'd find what these spirits wanted of her. "I think so too... One day I'll find out what!" She chirped, tufted ears perking up again. "Mmm, but, what about you guys?" She looked between the three. "Are you wild cats?" Winter had only heard rumors of cats who lived out in the wilderness. She knew of cats who left their homes to live in the city - but the thought of leaving the safety of the streets to brave it in the wild always terrified, and fascinated her.

"Ghost cats?!", Whisp echoed curiously. Listening closely the creamy molly found that the others didnt seem to be too phased by this statement. Thinking back the loner remembered the stories that her father would tell about the spirits of their ancestors and how at pivotal points in ones lives that they would appear. "My father told me stories when I was a kit about how the spirits of our ancestors would appear to help guide us during important times in our life. If you were led to live the life of a wild cat then you should do so. Just be careful, the wild woods is nothing like your garden or roaming about in an upwalker village." Whisp couldn't help but warn the young shecat about the dangers of the forest, especially since she lack a crucial weapon... her claws. "I have been living the life of a loner for quite some time. However I've never lived the life of a kittypet if that answers your question."

Still feverish Lichen remained laying down, however he did shift to a more comfortable position where he could look Fern straight on. His shoulder still throbbed from the mollys tampering but he could tell that the herbs she applied were working. "So Fern were you just passing through the area last night when you saw me or do you live close by?" Lichen himself had recently settled in the area and had yet to meet any neighboring cats, let alone scent any. Her appearance into his life couldn't have been better timed. Despite this he was very skeptical of the shecat, how long had she known about him? Could she have been stalking him since before the evening past? His green eyes blinked as he tried to gaze into Fern. As if his gaze could see all her hidden secrets that lay just beneath her pelt.

Winter tilted her head... Spirits of our ancestors? She didn't think that she had any related family who would think to guide her out here... It was all so confusing, and so far, this trek had brought her nothing but trouble. "Heh, I gathered how dangerous it was so far." She joked, her tail tip bending this way and that. "I mean, that dog was just inches away from nailing me! If our ancestors are supposed to guide us... Well I just get the feeling that they're guiding me straight into trouble." She frowned, looking down at her paws. "What's it like... Living out here in the wild? I mean, do you have to catch your food? How do you keep warm when it's cold? What about predators? I mean! I just have no idea how one lives out here!" She mewed in bewilderment. (I wonder when those dogs are gonna come by and ruin the fun lol!)

((Not gonna lie, I really want Whisp and Winter to have a mentor/apprentice relationship! Please oh please lol obviously it would be a bit different considering the circumstances but Whisp could totally take her under her wing and help teach her the ways of the wild.))

Adder tipped his head to the side as two cats went on and on about spirits and ghosts. He didn't comment, but his whiskers did twitch in amusement. Maybe it was the years of isolation that had gotten him to grow cynical. After all, he theorized that if some sort of spiritly power existed, surely it wouldn't let cats suffer the way they did. He had seen too many good cats starve, or be killed by twolegs every moon. Nevertheless, he wouldn't kill their excitement. He let out a small huff, thinking that he felt quite old sometimes. The tom was still young, but had been on his own since he was a kit. It was a stark and lonely existence.
As Winter mentioned living in the wild, he couldn't help but think that she seemed like the kind of cat who wouldn't survive a night. She had gotten stuck in a tree, of all things! He humored her, and responded, "Living in the wild is rough. You catch your own food, all the time. If you can't find prey, you go hungry. You shelter wherever you can. Sometimes, warmth isn't an option. You fight every predator and every hostile cat for the last scrap of food." He didn't want to discourage her, but he wanted her to understand the reality of an existence in the wild.

Winter's ears slowly drooped as Adder explained just how harsh she could expect the wild to be... Catch your own food? FIGHT to protect your food? What could Winter fight with? She shuffled her soft paws nervously. "Hah... Jeez... It sounds like I won't survive a day out here." She said what was on everyone's mind. "...Maybe I should just turn back..." She glanced to the direction where home was, it was a whole day's travel away by now. And who knows what else she would run into on the way home. Suddenly her ears perked up a bit and she looked between the three of them. "Or, maybe we could all stay together! There's power in numbers right?" She echoed the very words that Chervil had been hearing in his dreams. "Maybe we'll be stronger together!"

Whisp watched Winters expression wilt at Adders words. However the tom was not wrong. Living the life of a wild cat was a harsh one, compared to the life of a kitty pet. "Don't let that dishearten you, living the life of a wild cat can be amazing, and it is worth the hardships that you bear." She looked to Adder and Chervil with a smile and then Winter spoke the words he mind had just thought. "The greater in number the more powerful yes, but it also does make you more of a target at times. However I love company, Winter you are more than welcome to tag along with me and I would be more than happy to show you the ways of a wild cat." The molly's creamy plumed tail whooshed back and forth and her honey colored eyes gazed welcoming to all of those about her. Inwardly she had doubts about the toms wanting to join. Most cats who lived the life of a loner, chose it. "It would be fun though to spend some time with others", she added eyeing the toms playfully as if to try and entice them to stay.

( i love all of the cats already ) Chervil couldn't contain his amused purr as Adder explained the difficulties of living in the forest and Winter's cheery attitude seemed to falter. Sure, living in the wild was difficult, but it also had it's perks! You're never confined to a twoleg den, you can be independent, you get to see new things everyday. He would never trade it for the life of a housecat. When Winter voiced her idea he was speechless for a moment. Power in numbers. The very thing he'd been hearing in his dreams every night. Perhaps the cats guiding Winter had brought her to him! To show him what his dream meant! But what was the danger and death it was warning him about? Shaking his head to clear his mind, he sheepishly grinned at the three cats he'd just met. "I've never been opposed to hanging around other cats that I've met. In fact, I get a little lonely living on my own." He meowed, favoring Winter's suggestion to stick together.
Fern watched him carefully as she went back to grooming her pelt, licking her paw and drawing it gently across her ears. "I settled in the area about a moon ago." She told him, tail tip twitching. She wasn't sure how much about herself she should share with the tom, but like she noted earlier he was hurt and in no condition to do anything to her. Besides, she could easily slip away and disappear from his life after he fell back asleep. Not before she heard gratitude from him for helping, though. She's noticed him a couple days before last night, but she generally kept her distance from strangers, just taking note of her surroundings and moving on. She only ever had bad experiences when running into other cats but when she found him hurt she couldn't leave him to suffer.

Adder was thrown off guard by the unexpected offer, but he couldn't help but think that it embodied the cat who had suggested it perfectly. It seemed that Whisp and Chervil were both open to the idea as well. At first, he was considering refusing. He had spent a lot of time alone, and despite its pros or cons, he had gotten used to it. The thought of spending an extended amount of time with other cats was an alien one. Yet, a part of him felt that he could help them out. Whisp and Chervil both seemed like they could take care of themselves to a degree, but Winter was completely new to living in the wild. If a predator or a hostile cat attacked, they would have to protect her and drive off the threat at the same time. They could use a cat who was an experienced fighter to help them out. Whisp's last comment, and the look in her eyes caused his own to soften. She had a point - it would be good to spend some time with other cats. "Well, if a fox found you know it would probably be trouble." He concluded. "So I'll join you all as well. After all, someone needs to keep an eye out for the less friendly occupants of the forest."

The blue molly's tail swept excitedly back and fourth, she grinned at Whisp, her blue eyes bright with kit like excitement. Although she didn't know these cats too well, she knew that they all must have had hearts of gold to heed her cry for help and assist down the tree. Not only that, they wanted to help her now that she was out on her own! Her heart felt light as a feather, her stomach full of bubbles. Is this what it was like to feel free? Surrounded by danger, but surrounded by a group who would fight for you? For the first time since she left home, Winter felt hopeful. "Really?! Then we're a team then!" She chirped, bouncing into a gallant position. She puffed out her fluffy blue chest, her tail held high. "I promise, I'll do my best do not be a burden!" She dipped her head respectfully to the three, first to Adder, then to Whisp and Chervil.
Though upon her next inhale, a strong scent picked at her nose. Upon the gust of wind, there was a strong scent. A familiar one. Winter's hackles rose, her tail bushing out. A cold claw of fear clutched her, her eyes grew wide. "Does anyone else smell that?" As the words left her mouth, the loud bray of a hound dog sounded from over the distance.

Adder scented the incoming hound soon after, hackles immediately rising as the stifling stench filled his nostrils. "Quick, up a tree!" He hissed, then as he moved to do so himself, he remembered. Without claws, there was no way Winter would make it up on her own. Running through the possibilities, he quickly made a decision. "Help her get up! I'll hold off the dog!" He mewed to Whisp and Chervil. With the help of the other two cats, they could get Winter up to a safe height.

Winter's pelt was bushed out, she felt frozen stiff, her paws planted into the ground. The dog let out a louder bray, it's thundering paws tearing across the earth. A flooding sense of deja vu filled her, she had been in this scenario just yesterday! She looked to Adder as he spoke up with a command, the blue molly looked up to the tree, then to Whisp and Chervil. "I-I'll be ok! I can make it up!" She reassured them, bunching up her muscles and springing forward, clumsily getting her footing on one of the lower branches. She made quick work, weaving up the tree as best she could. It was only once she was higher that she could see the dog... Or - wait...
From up here, Winter could see two more large figures streaming from behind the lead hound. There were three of them! A pack of dogs! "There's more!" She cried out in panic to the cats below her.

"Oh no!" The dog was making it's way back just as they had rescued Winter front the tree she had to go right back up it. With quick and graceful movements Whisp weaved her way up into the tree and found a large steady branch to settle on. "Come up next to me Winter, between me and the tree trunk so I can help keep you steady if you need it." If they were to be in the tree together then they might as well help each other stay in it. She had begun to think that herself and the two toms could take on the dog, but then Winter was quick to mention more dogs coming. "There is no way we can take on a whole pack!" She growled. "Maybe we could if it was just this one, but three no way!" Looking to Chervil and Adder she was curious as to what they thought they should do.

So Fern just just about as new as he was in the area, having arrived about just a half moon ago. Only a couple of days ago did Lichen finally decide on his current den to be his new home. Blinking slowly the tabby and white male released a wide yawn. "Ahhhhhhmm", his fever seemed to be taking a huge toll on his energy level. "Well Fern, I guess it's a good thing your my neighbor." To Lichen that was his way of accepting her and possibly expressing that he was thankful for her presence. "If you ever run into an owl I'll be sure to stop by and pester you till you fall asleep." Lichens eyes, though drooping, danced playfully as he teased at the molly hopeful that his pain and bad mood had not made her think too ill of him.

Adder's neck fur bristled in terror at the thought of even more dogs. "Just my luck!" He growled. There was no way he was going to be able to outfight an entire pack of dogs. He knew that if they all climbed up, the dogs would just wait below the tree. They would have to come down eventually. Thinking rapidly, he glanced up to make sure the others had safely gotten up. Then, he made a decision. If I die here, you'd better name your future kits after me! He thought as he prepared to run. "Over here, you mange-pelts!" He yelled, ensuring that the dogs had their eyes on him, before he pelted in the opposite direction. He knew he couldn't outrun them forever, but he just needed to buy enough time for the others to get down from the tree and escape. He plunged into the undergrowth, beginning the chase.

Winter had a hard time comprehending the horror of their situation. Just a moment ago, she was relieved to have made friends with these cats - now two of them could be running to their death. She was so concerned for them that she didn't even think about the fact she was stuck in the same tree again. She stayed close with Whisp, her coat brushing against hers as she leaned out over the branch they were on so she could keep eyes on the dogs. They swiveled past the tree they were both clung to, taking the bait and bolting straight for Adder. "Oh no..." Her heart lurched. She looked off into the distance, a large spans of open grass stretched out before them. How was Adder going to lose them...? "Sh-Should we take off after them?!" She looked to Whisp, her blue eyes wide with fear.

Adder sprinted as fast as he could, nimbly dodging stones and broken branches. Thankfully, the dogs were slow and clumsy, unused to the forest floor, while he was able to navigate it easily thanks to his experience. He quickly put some distance between them, and spotted a blur of black fur join him. "Let's head...towards the twolegplace..." He puffed, talking in-between breaths. "If a twoleg spots... them, they'll probably... call them...off!"
