Chervil woke with a start, flipping out of his nest and onto his paws with a soft hiss. It took him a second to relax, sheathing his claws and letting his black fur lie flat. It was that dream again. He's been having the same dream for the past moon and he couldn't seem to get it out of his head, even while he was awake. It just seemed so real, like the starry cats that stood around him were actually speaking to him. And there was a dangerous presence around him in the dream, like he was being watched, and when he tried to run it was like he was moving in slow motion. The strange cats' voices echoed in his mind:Power in numbers, to fight against the dark. Alone in the shadows is where death will lurk.
The black tom shivered and shook himself, trying to get the voice out of his mind. The sun was now rising, so it was time for him to go hunt for something to eat. He pushed himself out of his den in the crevice of a tree root, parting his lips to scent the air for prey. Catching the faint scent of a squirrel, he padded in it's direction, following the rodent's scent trail.

Having been awake long before the sun made its appearance, Whisp casually wondered about the forest. Each delicate paw step was carefully placed, this was new territory for the molly. Having tired of her most recent hunting grounds, as prey poor as they were, the cream shecat started her day with the plan to find a better place to settle.
Having eaten a small thrush before setting off, Whisps mind was not focused on prey but more the terrain about her. Prey rich grounds were based off of richness of land. If there was no food or water for prey then there would be no food or water for herself. The sound of water trickling up ahead caught her attention and the feline perked up. Ears forward and nose tirelessly taking in the scents about her Whisp quickened her pace eager to investigate the area.

Curled tightly in his nest Lichen remained in his deep state of rest as the sun began to rise. His nest was set in a dug out niche beneath the trunk and roots of a fallen birch. Nothing fancy, or elaborate, just a simple place to stay warm and dry for the night. The tabby tom had quite the nighttime adventure. He had been hunting the plumpest mouse in the forest and just as the rushed in for the kill an owl swooped in and tried to steal his target.
The tomcat did not give in easily, and the whole sleeping forest about them probably woke due to the ruckus. In the end Lichen came out victorious but not without the proof of battle. A large score of talon marks decorated his flank, something that would take a hot minute to heal. Even now as he slept, belly full, blood slowly dripped down his pelt and into his mossy nest.

The closer Chervil got to his squirrel, the louder a sound in the distance became. At first, it was a very quiet, far away mumbling, easily shrugged off as the discernible sounds of the forest. But then it started to sound like a voice, and then the words able to be made out. "HEEEEEEEELP... SOMEBODY? ANYBODY?"
Winter shivered, clinging awkwardly to the limb of a tree. Her light blue fur stuck out from the greenery like a sore thumb."HEEEEELP!" Her shrill voice echoed through the forest, but, she figured it would only fall on deaf ears. Her throat was starting to grow sore, voice scratchier than it normally was. Once her call had faded away, she let out a defeated sigh, her tufted ears drooping. "Ok... Maybe this time will be the one..." She took a deep breath, and looked down. Below her was the grassy ground, but she was so high up that the distance was dizzying. Her hackles rose as a chill ran through her, she hugged the branch tighter and buried her head. "Somebody! Help!" She cried out again.
Winter - 17 Moons - Light blue molly with long fur, grey and darker blue markings, tufted ears, and blue eyes.

Adder had originally been downwind of the voice, carefully stalking the mouse through the undergrowth. He carefully crept forward, amber eyes narrowed on the small creature. The mouse seemed oblivious to his presence, happily nibbling on a seed. The mackrel-striped gray tabby tom loomed closer, nearly upon the mouse. That was then a distant mew echoed through the trees. The mouse perked up instantly, ears pricked in alert. Cursing under his breath, Adder leapt, but it was too late. The mouse had already skittered to the safety of the nearby oak hollow. The tom straightened, scowling at the sound that had cost him his meal. Then, the mew came again, this time a bit clearer, and his anger grew into concern as he could make out what the other cat was yowling. The mouse forgotten at the thought of another cat in danger, the striped tabby plunged into the undergrowth, heading straight for the source of the noise.
He arrived a few moments later, nudging ferns away with his nose. He blinked as he peered around the clearing, looking for what the distress could be. Then, he looked up towards the tree, and saw the small bluish-shape huddled very high up. "Hello!" He called up, rearing his hind legs so he could rest his front paws on the trunk, allowing his voice to carry higher up. "Are you okay?"

To Whisps disappointment, the small trickle of water was simply a small rocky crevasse in the terrain that emptied into a small stale pool of stagnant water. The molly was quick to turn her nose up at the sour pool and bound onwards. Just as she decided to sit down for a brief rest there was a faint voice echoing through the wood. Head cocked to the side Whisp wondered if she really just heard someone cry out. Waiting a moment ears trained for any sound, the molly tried to listen for the voice.
"Help!"
There it was, weak and in the distance a cry for help. Instantly the females heart lurched with concern. Jumping to her paws she raced deeper into the woods straight for the cry for help. Claws extended the shecat prepared herself for a possible battle. To Whisps surprise there were other cats int he area that were coming to the cats aid. Leary of them she hung back for a moment. "Is everything okay... I heard a cry for help..."

Winter sighed in relief, it seems her cries for help worked, as suddenly cats streamed from the undergrowth to her aid. She felt so happy she could just melt... But then she started to wobble on the branch, and she quickly snapped back, clinging onto the branch. "Oh! Thank goodness... P-Please! Could you guys help me get down...?" She looked between all of them, her blue eyes filled with fear. "I was running from a dog, and I was just able to scramble up here, but... I don't have any claws, so I can't get down." She explained, a harsh breeze suddenly gusting through the tree and making the branch shake. She clung onto it tighter.

"A dog?!" Whisp echoed, tone filled with alarm. Her pale honey colored eyes darted all about them and she hesitantly moved closer to the tree the young shecat was stuck in. Hopeful that the dog had moved on, Whisp moved to the base of the tree truck gazing upwards towards the stuck feline. No claws? Was she a kittypet? Did that mean there was an upwalker village nearby? Questions raced through her mind but the wriggling cat above her cause her to hold them all in and focus on the task at hand.
"Hey there, I'm Whisp." She meowed giving a quick introduction upwards to Winter as she assessed the surroundings. "Do you think you could get onto that branch there and leap into that other tree? That limb right there almost touches the tree your in. Then you could leap down the branches till your close enough to the ground." Hopefully this was a solution. The tree right next to the one Winter was stuck in was young and filled with many low hanging branches.

Winter could sense the alarm in the cream colored molly's voice when she mentioned the dog. She quickly tried to assure her, raising her quivering voice. "Oh! No need to worry, the dog's run off by now... I've, sort of been stuck in this tree for... Uh, well - the moon was up when I managed to get up here." She laughed sheepishly, not too proud with saying she's been stuck up here for hours and hours. She perked her ears at Whisp's suggestion, looking to the tree next to her. She looked at the branch that extended out, but, in doing so, also happened to look down again. Butterflies began to rise in her stomach again, making her queasy, and light headed. Her blue fur stood straight up, she looked like a prickly cactus. "I... I... don't know... I'm scared that I'll fall and break a leg, or - or... It's just so far!" For a veteraned cat, who had spent a long time climbing trees, it actually wasn't that far. A fall at her height might hurt a bit, but if she landed on her feet she wouldn't break anything.

(Oooo! That's a great idea! ^w^)
Winter watched the lanky black tom easily climb up the tree towards her. She felt envious, watching as his claws made it so he could get a foot hold on the bark, allowing him to propel himself forward with ease. The branch shook slightly as Chervil stepped on it, likely due to the extra weight. It caused her to panic, but his words helped calm her. She wobbily pushed up, balancing on all fours now. "P...Promise you won't let me fall...?" She said shakily, watching as he deftly hopped onto another branch. Winter searched his eyes for a moment before shakily stepping along the branch, pausing for a moment... She looked at where she needed to jump to, then back up to Chervil, then back to the ground. Her stomach lurched, she shot her eyes back up to the black tom, trembling like a leaf in the breeze. But... He'd be there to catch her, right? She had to do this... Winter took a deep breath and jumped over to the next branch, scrambling to catch her balance. But, she managed to get all four paws on! She grinned, looking back at where she was before, and where she was now. She was doing it! "Ahah! I did it!" She mewed in disbelief. "Where to next?" She looked up to Chervil, confidence gleaming in her blue eyes.

((A pack of dogs would make things interesting for sure!))
Whisp watched as a second tom, black and lanky, joined in to help. Her sweet golden eyes followed his form as he climbed up the tree and began to help her move along the path that she had initially pointed out. When the blue furred she cat gathered up her courage and made it to the first branch Whisps plumed tail began to flick in a hopeful manner.
"There is a branch just below that one to the right. If your get closer to the trees trunk you should be able to make the jump without the branch bouncing under your weight." Trotted over to get a better view she tried her best to help out.

Winter looked down to Whisp, now that she had a little bit of courage, the distance to the ground didn't look as scary. She looked to the next branch down, spotting the one she mentioned. She wiggled herself closer to the base of the tree, looking over at Chervil with a sheepish grin, before looking back down to the branch. "Ok..." She murmured, bunching up her haunches, getting ready for a poised leap. She sprang out, overdoing her jump a little. Her front paws skid past the branch, making her stomach impact with it. She let out a loud 'oof!', but managed to scramble her back paws up, eventually, and ungracefully, settling on the branch.

Winter took a moment to catch her breath, mainly because it had been knocked out of her. She looked to Chervil as he explained where they were headed next, his encouraging words quickly restoring her. She couldn’t believe they were nearly there, finally! She was so tired of this tree! She carefully placed one paw in front of the other, it became hard the further along the branch they went, as it became thinner. Instinctually she flexed where her claws would be, to try to hold on, but her gentle paws only padded along the branch. ‘Almost there... Keep going, don’t look down, almost there...’ She repeated these words to herself as she crept along, her heart drumming in her chest. Finally, she stepped onto the other tree branch with Chervil.

《Awe thanks let's throw a little twist their way too》 What Lichen presumed to think was just simply a deep nights rest was something more serious. The tom didn't even stir at the sound of an approaching cat. Only when the molly spoke did he release a moan and slowly blink open his eyes. "Mmmmm, what?" He questioned groggily. "Leave me alone, I'm so tired..." Lichen meowed.. but it came out almost like a whimper. Heat radiated from the tabby, and if he had known better Lichen would know that he had a fever. The tom had been careless with his wound and didn't even both to clean it other than to lick away the blood. The owls talons had been filthy and now Lichen had a deep wound that was heavily infected. Normally Lichen would be on his toes hissing the stranger away, but at the moment he was far from his right mind Heck, he didnt even question who she was just tried to shrug her off and fall back asleep. "...Just go away.." he grumbled and stiffly tried to wiggled deeper into the den. When he did his wound began to throb, and a mixture of blood and puss began to ooze. ○◇○◇○◇○◇○◇○◇○◇○◇○◇○ Anxious gazing upwards the creamy molly fidgeted on her toes. "You're doing great!" She encouraged and the proceeded to look back at her surroundings. The other cat seemed to just be watching, and after scent checking the air again the scent of dog was still pretty stale. "Just one pawstep at a time!", Whisp called up. She could only imagine what it would be like to not have her claws. Naked. Fearful. Defenseless. That poor cat, what was she doing way out here in the woods alone anyways? Whisp had traveled far and long enough to know that this blue molly should be tucked away in the nest of an upwalker. Could the dog have chased her all the way from her nest?

Fern narrowed her eyes at the tom's feeble attempt to shoo her away. Had he even attempted to care for himself after the large bird attacked him last night? Apparently not. The smell of infection coming off of the wound nearly made the tortoiseshell gag. Wrinkling her nose, she turned and padded back the way she'd came. She remembered passing some marigold on the way to his makeshift den, which her mother had taught her to use for infections. She found the patch of bright orange flowers and picked a jawful, hurrying back to where the tom was resting. "Just lie still and let me help you." She meowed, crouching down beside him and began to gently groom his messy fur around the wound. She flinched, thinking how painful it must be. Once it was cleaned she quickly chewed a flower into a pulp and spread it onto the wound. Once she had spread the pulp all across his scratches she wrapped some cobwebs from the tree's roots around her paw and pressed them against his body to keep the treatment in place and to also stop anymore bleeding. She also noted that he had a fever, but she didn't know where anything was to help with that right now as she sat back to admire her work.
"There we go!" Chervil praised the blue she-cat, flicking his tail lightly against her shoulder as he led her down the branch. "Now just hop down to this one, it's not that far." He hopped to the branch about a tail length below. Whisp's suggestion to use this tree proved to be a good one, as the branches were close together and low-hanging. He hopped to another below, getting closer and closer to the ground, stopping to scent the air for dogs again.

Confidence soared in the molly, despite not having claws to help her balance, just having the movie to keep going made it a little easier to make her way. It was easy to balance when you weren’t assured that you were going to fall of instantly. Watching Chervil make quick work of it pushed Winter to keep going. So, with a simple hop, skip, and pounce, the two made their way from lower branch, to lower branch, until she made the last jump to the ground. ”Haaah... Precious dirt...” The quirky molly purred, melting into the grass. She rolled around, delighted to have solid earth under her paws again. Her tufted ears pinned to the back of her head as she rolled into her back, from here she could see Whisp looking over her. ”Thank you so much for your help, both of you!” Winter chirped as she pushed up to all fours, a couple blades of grass getting caught in her blue coat. ”I don’t know WHAT I would have done if you hadn’t come along! I probably would have become crows food up there.” She chuckled as she blew away a blade of grass that had rested upon her nose. ”My name’s Winter, by the way!”

For a brief moment Lichen though the shecat had left him be and moved on but just as he was starting to fall back asleep her words brought him back to a wakeful state. A low growl rumbled within, yet the molly carried on. He didnt realize how tender and worse off he was until she began to clean his wound. Her sharp tongue instantly yanked him out of his groggy state a hissed erupted from his angry faced muzzle. "Watch it! That hurtsss", however it seemed as if his complaints fell upon deaf ears. Soon the pain of her cleaning his wound was soothed by a salve that she heavily applied, and his bristled pelt began to lie flat once again. "Ahh..." he sighed gently green eyes begining to blink slow again as the fever took its toll on his energy level.
"Where in the Silverpelt did you come from?" He questioned as she finished up with some cobwebs. Lichen would have probably tried to sleep through his fever, too scared to clean his own tender wounds. That could have been the end of him but it wasn't thanks to this stranger, however his thanks was not yet at surface level so he continued to eye her uncertainly.
((Okay off to bed now, I will respond with Whisp in the morning. ))

Relief flooded through Whisp when the blue feline finally made it to the forest floor. Even though she didn't know her, the creamy shecat had a caring heart not wanting the stranger to get hurt. A slight purr began and a small chuckle escaped her when the blue molly rolled enthusiastically in the grass, happy to be on solid ground again.
"Well Winter it's good to meet you, it's sad that it took something like this for us to meet. What brings out out into the forest? You said you don't have claws, are you a kittypet?" Now maybe Whisps curiosity could finally be put to rest with some answers.

The wound covering certainly wasn't neat and tidy like a professional's work, but it was enough and she was quite proud of herself. Fern's eyes focused back on the tom's face, seeing him give her a wary look. "I saw you get attacked last night and thought I might check on you." She answered, wrapping her tail around herself and lifting a paw to begin grooming herself. "Good thing I did! You hadn't even cleaned it and it got all nasty and infected. Did you want to get up again?" She huffed, green eyes narrowing at him. "Next time you get a wound like that you have to properly take care of it." She scolded him, tail tip twitching with a bit of irritation.
After reaching the ground, Chervil hopped up and down a bit with excitement. He felt good for having a role in helping Winter to the ground and her happiness spread to him and made him feel all giddy. "Nice to meet you, both of you." He meowed to the two she-cats, sitting down to contain his energy. "My name is Chervil." For some reason at that moment the voice from his dream rung in his ears and his smile disappeared for a moment, sending a shiver down his spine. Power in numbers,

Lichen gazed wide eyed at the tortoiseshell, the audacity she had to scold him was astounding. They didnt even know each other! The fact that she was right about everything made the tom even more irritated and his tail flicked wildly. "I would have managed just fine", he puffed trying to argue his own independence as pride bubbled within. The tabby and white tom did not need anyone to take care of him, he had survived this long by himself and he would continue to find a way to survive. Like he needed some molly to pad after him treating him like a kit.
It was his pride that kept him from expressing any sort of gratitude towards Fern. But there was no denying that he could be a little less rude. "I'm Lichen by the way", he meowed trying to introduce himself.

"Well it's a good thing you heard her cry for help too", Whisp meowed turning to look at the black tom who had just introduced himself as Chervil. "It would have been difficult to help her down by myself." Whisp could have possibly managed on her own but it was definitely nice to have help. In her mind things seemed to run more smoothly when there were other involved and everyone worked in unison to accomplish the task at hand. Turning back to look at Winter, awaiting an answer to her earlier question, Whisp missed Chervils sudden change in demeanor. It was nice to be around other cats, the cream and white molly had always been a social butterfly despite living the life of a loner. She just had yet to find the right cats to settle down with.

(Sorry for poofing last night! Stuff got busy. Let's just pretend Adder was involved somehow and didnt just stand there while the whole thing was happening ) Adder nodded in agreement at the other cats. "Dogs." He growled. "Mangy brutes. Don't worry. If they come back, I'll be ready for them." The muscular tom squared his broad shoulders, allowing razor-sharp claws to curl into the grass. He was clearly a seasoned fighter, borne from moons of rough survival in the woods. Despite his brusque tone, however, the tom blinked kindly at the other cats, showing that he was good-natured despite the rough exterior.

Winter curled her tail politely around her paws, trying to dial in on her previous child like actions, it seemed. Her tufted ears twitched down as Whisp asked what she was doing out here. She gave a sheepish chuckle and looked down at her paws. "Well, I was a house cat... You're gonna think it's weird, but - I left because I just..." She paused, as if trying to find the words, or, rearrange them in a way that didn't make her sound crazy. "I kept having these weird dreams... Every night, I kept dreaming of walking among a forest of greenery. These... Ghosts of cats that I've never even met before kept guiding me through. I tried asking them what I was doing here, but they only thing they would tell me is I have a greater purpose." Her ears lied flat against her head now, she looked deep in thought. She was quiet for a moment, until she looked back up at the group and laughed. "It's weird... Right? Well... I just couldn't stand thinking about it anymore. Although I loved my owners dearly, I just couldn't stand living thinking that there was something out there that I was destined for. I don't even know where I'm going, I'm just waiting for those dreams to help guide me..."
