"I'm not interested in a fight." Yarrow huffed, resting his chin on his paws and staring down at the trickling water of the stream. He tried to look relaxed but he was only growing more tense. He sat up, tail still lashing, and glared at her. "There's half a rabbit under the stones over there," he pointed with his tail, not taking his cautious gaze off of her. "You can have it if you leave me alone." he said.

"Kittypets? That group of cats in the forest, were those the kittypets?" Yarrow asked, pointing his tail in the direction he had originally come from before reaching the stream. He was half talking to himself as she was already leaving. He stood up on shaky paws and tried to stretch.

"I'm not going to show you where these cats are." Yarrow replied. "I heard kits with them, I'm not going to send you their way when I know you're going to try and fight them." he thought about where he left the rabbit. He jumped down from the rock and started his way upstream. The fur of his back prickled with apprehension that she might attack him at any moment.

( Morior ) Sakura sighed, disappointed once again by this tom. She mewed, βIβm not an idiot. I donβt attack harmless kits. But whatever.β She followed him up the stream, thinking about pouncing the entire time, but never actually doing it. She needed to wait until they were in a spot that the tom couldnβt just run away. βWhatβs your name?β she mewed, not really finding anything else to say. βIβm Sakura.β

"Could've fooled me." Yarrow retorted quickly as he went to the rocks where the rabbit was buried. "That's nice." He ignored her question and muttered sarcastically about her name. He unburied it and gave her a glare before picking up speed and heading upstream again.

( Morior ) Sakura watched as he dug up the rabbit, annoyed at how he had ignored her question. Then she just watched as he continued upstream, for there was no point in chasing after him. She eyed the rabbit, not particularly hungry, and decided to walk in the direction the tom had flicked his tail in. She knew it might not be the right direction, but she followed it anyway, not knowing what else she could do.

Yarrow ran north until she was out of sight, then turned into the forest to where the cats with the kits had been, hurrying and hoping to find them before nightfall. He kept his ears and nose alert for any sign of other cats, and weaved between bushes instead of running through clearings where his white pelt would be easily spotted.

Yarrow found the scents of the she-cat who he had seen catch the stoat. He tried following the scent but the scent of the rabbit in his jaws masked any others. Weaving through the undergrowth he looked for traces of paw prints or bushes with broken twigs that had been brushed by cats. He kept wandering even as the sun started to set.

Yarrow caught the scent trail of the stoat and that of the she-cat, Fern, who was carrying it. He padded along the trail, this time staying out of the bushes and undergrowth, letting his white pelt be seen as he approached so he wouldn't come across like he was sneaking up on them. Carrying the leftover rabbit in his jaws he saw Fern, Lichen, and a kitten ahead.

Lichen was happy for Ferns return, and welcomed her back with a deep purr. He watched as she placed a nice plump stoat in front of the kit and instantly his own mouth began to water. The hunger that had been there this whole time bubbled forth as the scent of fresh kill and it seemed as if every sense was heightened. Though he eyed the prey the disciplined tabby remained still, only the tip of his tail flicked to and fro. His own paws now itched for a good hunt and his flexing claws began to show it. But there was the matter of taking care of this kit. They couldn't just leave him, and he looked up at Fern unsure of what to do. "Should we take him back to the den?" He questioned under his breath trying now to disturb the kit as he ate. The tabby and white male was so far unaware of the eyes of not one but two cats that lurked in the forest about them. The winds were blowing away from him and so the scents of the lurkers remained downwind.
