I just noticed something. According to the table of contents, Darkness Within will be the longest book in TBC (at least so far) at 25 chapters. The runner up is The Silent Thaw at 24 chapters. Interesting that Kate’s books are consistently longer than Cherith’s.

While it is highly possible that in this case the book could have more pages, it is not always so

While it is highly possible that in this case the book could have more pages, it is not always so I imagine it all depends on how long the chapters are in the pageframe. CT likely managed to squeeze in more chapters by having some of them be shorter. And it's entirely possible to have long and short chapters in the same book, I've seen a fair share of that in Warriors actually and is common in writing. Granted, it's hard to tell the difference in Warriors books unless you notice, as SEs feel long in general. Plus CT managed to squeeze in a sort of epilogue in.
