Spoilers time: Nice to see that prologue is from Leafpool's POV. Wait, so StC sent Ashfur down to the living? Interesting. Firestar is right, though. Why did they trust him in particular?
Lol, Mistystar ended the Gathering because of demands that she allow Icewing and Harelight back in RC. I'm with those cats. Poor things.
This is very interesting. TC knew Ashfur was a traitor. But how did the other Clans find out? They knew he tried to kill Hollyleaf. Though, his own death wasn't an accident. That's how Bramblestar made it sound back in TFW. I didn't know cats told stories of Ashfur. Actually, the story Mousefur told Reedwhisker is interesting, because the opposite happened. Ashfur didn't attack Hollyleaf when she was alone, instead Hollyleaf attacked Ashfur when he was alone. I don't think it specifies what exactly they sent him to do, I doubt they sent him to go down to the living |

How does Tigerheart know about Squirrel/Ash/Bramble drama? Is there some Warriors gossip group or something? Lol. Word gets around in the clans. Gossip can spread and all. How they remembered years later is the real question. Bramble and Squirrel knowing I get, that's a super personal thing between them, but if gossip on the triangle was a thing how did it go far enough for Tigerheart to hear about it? |

Still no mention of any of the cats that were offhand mentioned to die at the end of the last book, nothing in the way of a memorial or anything. Not even Rosepetal, even though Bristlefrost explicitly thinks back to something she said to her.

Bramble and Squirrel knowing I get, that's a super personal thing between them, but if gossip on the triangle was a thing how did it go far enough for Tigerheart to hear about it? Tigerheart is Brambleclaw's nephew, it's not that far assuming Bramble vented to Tawny about it at some point. It's more astonishing to me that RiverClan heard about all the attempted murder. Not just one RiverClan cat either, the entire Clan is pretty much like "yeah, we all knew he sucked". |

In TFW, Brambleclaw covered for Hollyleaf on how Ashfur really died. It makes sense for most cats to believe that version, and the other Clans likely knew because cats like Mousefur told them. |

And I hate how all the Clans said “we heard Ashfur tried to kill Hollyleaf and then hit his head on a stone and croaked” and Squirrelflight was just like “YUP.” :-P I wish the full truth was out in the open! Though I love how the gossip has spread. xD |

Why WOULD they send Ashfur? Firestar is right. Ashfur helped killed Firestar and then tried to kill 3 other cats. And they sent him.
I hope we get more Leafpool POV. I'd love to see her do anything to help her sister
Also, I like Jayfeather and Lionblaze's loyalty to their adoptive mom. I think Jayfeather shows that even though he loves Leafpool and clearly thinks of her as mom, he ALSO thinks of Squirrel as mom too |

I don't know why it's so shocking that the fake story is common knowledge. Hollyleaf's fall from grace was a dramatic event where after losing her mind in the middle of a gathering she flees, her return would be just as dramatic considering the circumstances. And her return is not complete without some fake story about the Ashfur situation.

Shout out to all my forum friends who guessed that Ashfur would possess Bramblestar before Lost Stars had even been released. :-P (Kate stating that a controversial character would return really gave a lot away. xD ) I know there were quite a few of us back in the day. ( 𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵 kinkajou Jaysnow come to mind) A great many fans were hung up on the rabies theory but we knew, we knew . . .  |

XD And it's just mine that this arc is a terribly written garbage heap of a story that still somehow manages to be ridiculously entertaining due to its stupidity. Thus, a trainwreck-- terrible, but I can't take my eyes away. It literally took me 45 minutes to read this tiny sample because I kept facepalming and laughing hysterically. It's legitimately funny to me. |

I was kind of surprised to see Bristlefrost still has a POV. The blurb made it sound like Squirrelflight would have the TC POV. Unless they bring her in for a couple chapters later in the book?

Once again, Firestar is the voice of reason in Starclan. And Bluestar is stupid as usual, thinking that was a good idea. I was hoping for Firestar to go off on her again because he's really good at that.
And also second again I want Squirrelflight to deck Assfur, she wants him gone for good? Have her be the one to do it, let her be awesome gdi.

It says Mousefur told cats about his crimes at a Gathering...why would TC admit to raising a traitor and make themselves look bad? They’ve already been called out for things like this in the past Better that than rumors floating around about Hollyleaf being a murderer instead. |

Please don't tell me They're going to change the code because they got duped by an INCEL!
I hope they don't end up changing the code, it wouldn't fit into the story at all, not with the way it's going.
Like, why would they need to change it?
Wouldn't them changing it just appease the impostor?
