Ok yuck!!!!!!!!!
I know! That's if she eats it.
We do live on a bit of a hill. But the garden is probably 50x60 ft at this point, not including the 10 or so fruit trees on the outside of the fence. Bugs aren't too bad like where you are and the east coast. It's mainly the weather to worry about, the heat and winds. This is the earliest my dad has been able to till the garden. Part of the problem is the clay that's underneath the inch or so of imported topsoil. But in the eight or so years that's we've lived and garden here, this the best soil we've had from my dad tilling in all the dead leaves and compost.)

(LMAO
Oh god the soil down here? I hate it. To give you a good example of how awful it is, in 3rd grade we dug up clay and made pots out of them for an art project. We have to do raised beds for that very reason, which cuts up our space a lot. Also, if you dig far enough into the clay, you will pull up barb wire or something else unpleasant. I think that’s more where my parents home is located than anything else, but that really pushes us above ground. That’s good y’all have been able to get some soil going. My uncle got lucky and bought some land near a river. It’s a little hilly and he had to get some work done, but between what the trees had dropped before they were removed and the river silt itself, lands alright.
We definitely do not have the winds from what I understand. I honestly forget that could cause issues. When we have any sort of wind the news freaks out and tells everyone to tie down everything. What do y’all do to combat that?)

All right that's a lot worse than what we got going on here.
There's nothing that we really can do. I mean we have trees all around us except for where its farmland. Or houses or the city. It seems like any more last five or so years we always have one really bad wind storm. What was it for five years ago we had a really bad wind storm and it knocked the power out for like 5 days. And it came back on my birthday. But the wind speeds were like at 50mph and the gusts like 70.
Maybe figth? I don't know if you can tell what my muse for this plot is liken0 all of a sudden.)

(Jeez. That’s insane. Stay safe when that wind comes back around whenever that happens. What season do y’all have those wind storms?
Honestly I can kinda feel that too. Do you want to kinda like just move through the plot quickly and get them back on the ship for something else? Or just spice up this plot somehow? We could put the Kirk getting shot thing on here, or one of the other plots, ill go review them. Or do you just want to like drop this plot and say they got back to the ship and start with whatever next?)

I have seen the Orville. )

(Well, be safe whenever they happen.
Okay maybe we could like have the commotion outside, then they all go out and Abby somehow gets shot? Maybe it’s an attack to push the Federation out by the other planet? And they start firing on the Enterprise too so they have to leave quickly for that and Abby? That would get us out of this plot briskly, have some action, and add a bit of drama.
That’s good man. Maybe we can pull something from there for the next plot. What are we thinking for the next plot feel? Like dramatic or more light hearted or adventurous or what?)

Spock was the first to wake up. He had slept lightly, not needing the sleep like his human friends. When the sound of arguing and bodies moving through the hall started, he slipped out of the sleep state he had been in. The Vulcan sat up a bit, careful not to wake T’Aimnu if she was not already up. This was more difficult, he found, because he had moved closer to her in his sleep. Not by much, but enough that he had to move very gently as to not disturb her. His feet hit the floor, then he stood upright and walked towards the door, remaining as quiet as he possibly could. He could hear fighting outside. At first, it was arguing and shoving, but then things started to sound more heated. Spock could hear the thud of punches, and a body that hit his door and slid sideways.
Jim woke up sometime after Spock had, probably when the body hit the Vulcan’s door. He was typically a heavy sleeper, but his mind had kept him floating in and out of sleep. He stiffened, still laying on top the sheets, not sure at first what he heard. As shouting started up, he got up quickly. James moved towards the door, tempted to throw it open and see what had happened. He put his hand on the door, but stopped. He listened to the hall. Great. There was a fight out there, between who he didn’t know. His crew was separated from him. Kirk got a call on his communicator, and he quickly went and retrieved it. “Kirk here.”
“Captain, the ships under attack.” Sulu informed him, his voice sounding stressed. “It was a surprise attack by forces from the enemy planet. Our shields were down. The attack has drawn heavily on the ship, we won’t be able to locate all of you and transport you back right now. You need to get to the shuttle.”
This was a wonderful way to wake up. Kirk closed the communicator, knowing he had at least one crew member near him. He walked over to the door between his and Abby’s room, then opened it and came in. “Abby. We have to move. The enterprise is under attack.” Then there was a gun shot. The enemy was no longer trying to move quietly. “And so are we.”
Cam was a heavy sleeper, and right now was no exception. Unlike Jim, she hadn’t had as much on her mind as she fell asleep. McCoy’s presence had calmed what worries she did have, and she was knocked out. That is, until a gun shot was heard from the halls outside. Her eyes snapped open, half way expecting to find herself in Engineering. Pieces popped off of things with high velocity often, and sometimes they happened to hit her and knock her out. This time, she woke up next to McCoy, her arms hugging one of his loosely. What she had heard was not part of Engineering. She carefully removed her arms from him and slipped away, sitting up as she heard a commotion outside. Yelling, slicing noises, and another bang. A bump as someone hit the wall outside their room.
“Bones? Cam? It’s Jim. Come in.” Jim called McCoy’s communicator, still standing in Abby’s room. Cam got out of the bed and moved to the communicator, answering it. “Cam here. What’s going on?”
“I just got a call from the Enterprise. We have to get through whatever’s out there and to the shuttle. They can’t transport us, not right now. Give me a minute to call Spock, then we’re all going to get out of here.”
The next call Kirk made was to the Vulcans. “Spock? T’Aimnu?” “Spock here, sir.” Spock replied quickly, having almost called Jim himself. Jim explained the situation, then told him that in a minute they would have to make a run for it.

Bones actually had slept fairly for once. While Cam was speaking, McCoy finally rose and stood up. "Damn it. It's really happening then. Cam, grab your shoes and the bags." He started to shove his feet into his boots. He was trying to move quickly.
"I'm up. Damnit. I really would have thought they would have gotten us in morning not at night. James take my bag. Do as I say." Abby sighed, she was already dressed in the pants version her uniform. She dug around in her bag for a moment. She pulled a few phasers, two throwing knives, another knife and a set of expanding batons all somehow were hidden beneath her yellow dress skirt. She worked on strapping the knives to her leg. "Here get these out to the others when they see them. It seems like they have ran out of their version of a phaser and are using percussive weapons. Tell everyone else to use their bags as somewhat to stop the bullets. They didn't figure out rifling from what I can tell which is good." She nodded, her brain trying to pick a plan to go with. "I need you to create a distraction." She shook her head, listening. It sounds like most of the figthing near the stairs and it wouldn't do. "Slam my door to the hall. Make sure the rest of the crew gets to the shuttlecraft. I'll join you as soon as I can."
T'Aimnu woke shortly before Kirk called Spock. Upon hearing the commotion, she got up and quickly changed into the same nearly skin tight uniform. Although she didn't have the weapons that the human female had. "So the ship is under attack."

Cam quickly pulled her own uniform out of her bag. She quickly put it on, slipped the shoes on and grabbed her bag. She didn’t know Abby had brought weapons for them, so she grabbed a candle and it’s holder. She pulled the unlit candle out and held the holder upside down, standing at the door and waiting for McCoy.
“That’s what I thought.” Jim waited for her to finish in her bag, looking surprised when she pulled the weapons from her dress. She really had been expecting this. He took what she handed him and started towards the door, then frowned. “A distraction?” He looked more confused than when she pulled out weapons, much more. “Abby, where are you going? We have to get to the shuttle.” He looked confused and concerned. What was the woman planning now? He moved a little closer to the door, knowing they would have to move soon, or they would get separated. He didn’t want to leave any of his crew behind, especially not Abby. “You need to go with the rest of us.”
Spock nodded, retrieving his own bag. “As well as this planet.” He quickly changed into his usual, non dress uniform. He put on his shoes, then waited at the door for T’Aimnu. The fighting hadn’t seemed to pick up, outside, but was holding steady.

McCoy raised an eyebrow at Cam's actions. But it only took a moment for the man to accept what the women had did. It made sense since otherwise they had no weapons. He nodded making his way to the door, waiting for a moment of silence to get out of this place.
"You think I want to stay on this backwards planet? You're completely wrong. Someone needs to provide a distraction. I said that I will rejoin you guys at the shuttle." Abby repeated, looking at James. "If you're going to stop me, you aren't. And don't even try." She declared, with that she slammed the door from her room to the hallway. From there, she dashed quietly to Kirk's room.
As some of the rustling past the door, Abby slipped out of the doorway. She took a moment to recognize who were friend and foe. The woman saw that the closest men were nearly ready to kill the friend out on the ground. She had a small running start and used the first man to swing around to knock the second down to the ground. Once on the ground, she did a sweeping kick to knock the first man to the ground and slammed his head to knock him out. With the second man just starting to get up, she rushed the guy to do some damage with her knife. Nothing too damaging, but enough to leave him out and down for the count. What she wasn't expecting was a male pulling her into a choke hold as she rose. Which led to some feminine shouts.
The moment T'Aimnu thought she heard a new person join the fray after a door slammed. She knew exactly who had done that and what they were trying achieve. The first man she saw, she Vulcan pinched the man, who dropped Abby as he dropped to the ground. Abby took half a second to catch her breath and nodded her thanks to the Vulcan. The said Vulcan help her friend to her feet. T'Aimnu charged the last man who was unlucky enough to still be standing. It was only a few moments before the female took the guy down again with another nerve pinch.
"Guys it's safe to come out." Abby shouted, running to grab her bag. Once the bag was on her back, she reemerged in the hallway. She started hearing noises coming up the stairwell. The last of three guys she managed to get with the phaser on stun. Abby tossed the phaser to T'Aimnu who caught it with ease. Unfortunately while doing that, the first guy managed to get a good whack on her ribs with his rifle. A moment latter, Abby had half of her baton out and it turned in a dance of knives. It didn't last more than two seconds with Abby using her knive to dispatch the guy permanently.

James watched Abby leave. He stood in the room for a moment, trying to figure out what exactly she was planning. When it sounded like someone else had left their room, T’Aimnu, he decided to leave as well. The hall was already looking relatively cleaned out by the two females. A man approached him, one of the enemies. Jim quickly picked out one of the weapons he had been given, then took the man out. That was about as much of a fight that was remaining in the hall, in that moment.
Spock hadn’t been sure why T’Aimnu left. He didn’t have a clue who the new person was, or if they were even part of their party or if they were other guests. He left, finally, when he heard a third person enter. By the time he decided the best approach was to also enter the hallway, Abigail was already calling for them to come out. He closed the door and took a step out, holding nothing but his bag. He quickly assessed the situation. Jim made his way towards him and handed him a weapon. He gave a slight nod of thanks.
Cam walked out after she heard Abby. She came out during the second wave, and before Kirk had a chance to get her a weapon. One of the other planet’s men attempted to overtake her, but she slipped quickly away from him and gave him her best hit with the candle holder base. The man tumbled onto the ground. About that time, Kirk distributed a much more appropriate weapon from Abby.
“We need to get to the shuttle.” Kirk said loudly, glancing around at his crew briefly. His eyes passed over Abby, who had just taken down another man, and he felt a little less worried about her. She knew what she was doing.

As the violence died down, McCoy finally followed Cam out. As he looked at the carnage, his face dropped and checked a couple of men to see if they were alive in the low light. "What the hell happened? Abigail, why do you have blood on yourself? "
Abby nodded as Cam took out a guy. "Stay close, that way in the dark they can't tell how many targets there are. T'Aimnu get back, I'll take front. Watch for snipers. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some between us and the shuttle." Abby stated, talking directly to T'Aimnu. "No time to talk Doc, we've got to move." She replied pulling McCoy down the stairs.
The Vulcan simply nodded, while looking at group. She was waiting for the end of the group to pass by. Deciding that everyone else moving too slowly for her liking, she started ushering everyone down the stairs.
If Abby had not been careful at the bottom, she would have taken a bayonet to the heart. However after a quick struggle, her opponent had a knife to the heart and herself with what would be nice black eye in a few hours. By this point, she was done and had no mercy left in her. She retrieved her knife, calmly but quickly stepped over the body and headed for the exit. Abby kept checking over her shoulder to make sure that her crew mates were behind her.
Once at the exit, she sheathed her knife and expanded her other baton. She dispatched and knocked out another two men at the same time. She hid against the doorframe as she cautiously opened the door, waiting for bullets to blast by. Once she was satisfied, she opened the doors fully and scouted the open space. "We're going to have to make a run for it once we're out in the open." She stated.

Kirk looked as bothered by the men on the floor as McCoy was. He lingered for a moment in the hall, staring at the men, trying to figure out if any could be helped. As T’Aimnu and Abby started to move the group, he pulled himself away and moved towards the front of the pack. He brushed past McCoy, Cam and then Spock on the stairs and found himself directly behind Abby as she took down another man. He stared at her, almost shocked at how merciless she’d become in the span of a few minutes. She had changed, whatever had happened before, and that was clearer to him now than ever before.
Spock scanned the room once more as things seemed to calm down. He was as bothered as a Vulcan could be by all the enemies at their feet. He didn’t linger like Jim or McCoy, though. He knew they needed to get out, and what was done was done. Moving forward would be the only way out of more casualties, especially their own. He followed behind Abby, being one of the few T’Aimnu didn’t have to push. Jim moved past him eventually, setting the Vulcan immediately between the Captain and Cam. Spock raised an eyebrow as Abby fought against the enemy. He noted how quickly she had responded, and what response she had provided to the attack. He had a similar thought to Jim, but he had suspected a much bigger change than his friend had. The Vulcan followed Abby to the door, hiding as well. He gave a small nod.
Cam watched the man she had hit, unsure of his current status. She glanced around at her crew, seeing the blood on Abby that McCoy had mentioned. As Spock and two other women started to move out, she looked back around at the others on the ground. Finally, she started to move to the stairs as T’Aimnu started to rush them. She left the candle holder ship out of her hand, deciding to hold onto the weapon Jim had distributed. She followed after Spock, looking much more troubled in comparison. As the group briefly slowed and Abby took on another enemy, she moved some to be able to see in front of the two men. She didn’t catch Abby finishing the fight, but she watched her friend pull a knife out of something. This only added to her expression, and slowed her down a bit. She still followed the group, stopping at the door and listening.
As Abby tested the door, then looked out, Jim looked briefly at the crew behind him. When Abby spoke, he looked back at her, hiding his own uncertainty. He was growing used to taking orders from her during this mission, this seemed to be her element. It was an element she hadn’t had before, or at least not as much, before she first left the Enterprise. He gave a nod, then glanced back once more at the crew. “Is everyone in good enough shape to run?” He asked, uncertain of how many injuries they had. He looked at his Vulcan friend, who nodded. “Yes Captain.” He replied. Jim looked at Cam, who looked how he felt, and she nodded. Finally he looked back at Bones and T’Aimnu to see their response. “Abby, when you think it’s clear, we’ll go for it...” he said, still looking at the crew and not her.

Abby took another look outside. "James, I don't like it. Too many unknown." She looked through one the corridors that they hadn't clear. She took her batons back out.
"Two more incoming Commander." T'Aimnu called, slipping back into old habits.
Abby groaned. "Everyone go." She sighed in frustration.
McCoy raised an eyebrow and looked at Cam, offering his hand to her before sprinting off into the Shuttlecraft.
T'Aimnu stood by the outside of the door, taking a before seeing that Kirk would probably need some persuasion to get going. She literally started pulling Kirk along.
Abby sighed, expanding her batons again. "They never learn." She sighed, as the two men.

“I don’t either...” Jim muttered, looking back at Abby. “Shit...” he pushed out through gritted teeth, looking at the approaching men. He whipped his head back around to look at the woman once more. “Abby, I’m not leaving someone behind.” Especially if that someone was Abby, but he wasn’t going to say that. “I’m not letting you sacrifice yourself.” He argued. When T’Aimnu started pulling him, he resisted for a moment. Once they were really out in the open, he decided to run to the shuttle. He knew he would be risking both him and T’Aimnu’s lives by dragging his feet. The Captain made it into the door of the shuttle, luckily. He climbed in but refused to move very far from the door.
Cam looked ready to argue as well. She briefly reconsidered when McCoy offered his hand, taking it and going with him.
Spock was about to run when he heard Jim starting to argue. He knew this would happen. While leaving Abby behind was not the optimal choice, it may have been their only shot. From what he had seen, he was convinced she would be able to handle herself. The female Vulcan seemed to get a grip on Kirk, and so he decided to run a few feet in front of them in case the Captain tried to make a run back into the building.
When he got in, Spock stayed near the Kirk in case he tried to run again. The Vulcan looked back at Cam, slightly concerned she may join in with the other human if a chance arrived. She seemed less of an immediate threat than Jim was, but he didn’t trust her emotions enough to not keep one eye on her. He wasn’t sure what the Doctors response to this would be. From he had seen that night and from what he knew of McCoy’s past behaviors, he trusted him to stay calm in the moment enough to not rush back in. Spock was about as thankful for T’Aimnu as a Vulcan could be. He did not know the full story of this, but he knew enough that the other humans didn’t need to be in there and that Abby could relatively clean up.

There were a few shots taken at the group but nothing came close.
McCoy tighten his grip on Cam's hand, while half keeping an eye out for Abby.
Between both T'Aimnu and McCoy, they made the tension in the Shuttlecraft palatable.
Abby cracked her neck as the men slowed. It quickly became another dance of knives. Some where along the line, one of the men made a good attempt at her, but only had a small slice in her lower back. She had too much adrenaline pumping through her system to even feel it. They got the best of her a few times, a few good bruised ribs, a few nice bruises in general. Between the two men it took Abby a full minute to knock one out. And then it took less than 30 seconds to knock the second one out in the same mannor, a baton butt to the base of the neck. After concluding a survey of the large room, she checked the green space. She cautiously put both batons away. Taking a deep breath, she ignored the odds were against her and started her run. She tried to stay as low as possible to the ground.

Spock noticed Abby starting her run before Kirk did. He moved to the other side of the shuttle door and looked as best he could outside. “Captain, the Lieutenant Commander is approaching.” The Vulcan leveled the phaser he had been given and shot an enemy. He continued to look for anyone else that may try to take a shot at Abby, but his view was limited. This drew fire towards the shuttle for a moment and he had to hide behind the doorway again.
Jim immediately snapped into action when he saw the woman approaching. He aimed his own phaser on the opposite side of where Spock had shot. He noticed a man following Abby. He aimed directly across from the shuttle, and took him out. He pointed the phaser back on the other side. “Come on Abby...” he muttered, every second feeling like a dozen minutes. He hated the limited view he had, and assumed Spock didn’t have much of a better one. When the shots were returned, James threw his back against the wall for a moment. When they paused, he turned back out and knocked the enemy off the roof of a building. “Cam, get this thing going.” He knew the call hadn’t come about beaming them up, and the moment Abby got to the shuttle, they had to go. Best case scenario, Abby would get to the shuttle, they’d get beamed up, but he was starting to wonder if that would come.
(Are they getting beamed up or should they have to take the shuttle? Beaming up would definitely be faster, I just didn’t know if we were shooting for faster or not. If they had to take the shuttle they would have to figure out how to get in quickly while the ship is under attack. Also the shuttle could get damaged and they’d have to fix that, while Abby’s hurt, so there would be pressure. Still that may take a while so what do you think?)
Cam quickly moved to the front of the shuttle, practically pulling McCoy along with her, half way forgetting she was still holding his hand during this. She quickly got to work turning the shuttle on.

{Before I reply, beam up vs shuttle up I don't know, Maybe shuttle and then something goes wrong and emergency beam up? Where should Abby be shot? Lower torso and somehow missed internal organs, shoulder blade, or leg perhaps?}

{Ok sounds good!}
Abby jumped slightly as she heard shots going off all around her. Her sprint while a short distance, was made even longer by her zig zagging to avoid the worst of the bullets. For her, this run seemed to last a lifetime. But in reality, it was only about 15 seconds of absolute terror. In the last five or so feet, she slowed down and slid into the shuttle after stumbling. With all the adrenaline running through her system, she hadn't noticed the stinging of the bayonet wound and the bullet wound low on her left side. As it was she was out of breath and covered in blood, most of it wasn't hers.
Meanwhile, McCoy had let go of Cam's hand so she could work on them getting out of there. But he didn't move far, not wanting to get shot himself or get in the way. He was anxious enough, wanting to get back to the ship to do his part. He was getting grumpy from that alone.
T'Aimnu sighed, not liking any of this. She wished she could have stayed behind to help Abby, that way the woman would have been sooner. But the moment she noticed Abby in the craft, she pulled her out of the line of fire. "Cam, she's in let's get out of." She kneeled upon settling Abby in a seat and secured her. The female Vulcan eyed her friend for any visible wounds, just coming up with multiple abrasions, a busted lip and a nice bruised eye. She didn't noticed any of the blood from her back.

Jim and Spock tried to cover for Abby as she ran. Neither one of them noticed her get shot. They hadn’t expected it, from the way she had been running. Spock took out another man coming out of the building before T’Aimnu pulled the woman into the craft. He pulled himself in more and closed the shuttle door, then took a seat, trying to see how bad off Abby was from where he was seated.
The craft was already ready to go at the time Abby got in. Cam slid into the closest seat and then brought the shuttle up into the air. The sound of shots outside could be heard, and she started to check the systems to make sure nothing had been hit serious yet. The shuttle lifted itself up, heading to the ship. Finally, once the shots died down, and the ship started to pass through the atmosphere, Cam relaxed a little in her seat.
Jim took a seat before the craft started its journey. He found one near T’Aimnu and Abby. The human female was covered in blood, but other than looking worn out and battered, he couldn’t see anything wrong from where he was sitting. He leaned back a little, relieved that they were almost back on the ship and far from this planetary system. He looked briefly up to the front of the shuttle, checking to make sure nothing was wrong, then looked back at Abby. While most of the blood was drying, there was a spot that looked fresher coming from around her back. “Hey T’Aimnu, check her back.”
About that time, Cam had started to flip through the systems again when she noticed something. “Shit...” she muttered lowly, then hurriedly checked a few other things. She glanced back at the others on the ship. “Please tell me Abby’s alright.” She called back, then looked back at the information on front of her. She suddenly felt like they were on borrowed time, and wanted some sort of good news.

"What's going on? Did some of the bullets hit something important to fly this metal bucket?" McCoy asked, looking between Cam and the instruments lit up in front of him. He knew he should probably go check Abby out, but he wanted desperately to get back to the ship to check her out properly and see the state of his med bay out.
"I can't see anything, but it looks like a bayonet managed to slice a section about 2 inches long approximately. " T'Aimnu warned after managing to get Abby to shift around. She in her mind's could see how her friend had gotten it, being a bit too slow in her twirl and her baton was too low to do it's job. The female Vulcan worked quickly to put away Abby's weapons into her own bag and pull off Abby's bag.
Knowing that she was around friendly faces, allowed Abby to take off her facade much quicker than she normally would. Which unfortunately allowed the endorphins to wear off sooner. Which in turn allowed Abby to feel T'Aimnu's prodding around her wounds, and a hiss escaped from Abby. "How long till we get to the ship?" She asked softy, finally noticing the pain from both the bullet wound and cut. She was having a hard time chasing her breathing.
