Kiersten sighed loudly and rolled over in her bed. Her roommate had just fallen asleep. She grabbed her phone and blinked at its brightness. 2:53am. Grumbling, and rolled out of bed, threw on a jacket over her pajamas, and walked quietly out of her dorm room and into the common area. The common room was quiet. The fire in the fake fire pit was the only noise in the room. Sitting down in one of the arm chairs, her legs dangling over the side, she texted her friends group chat. "Anyone else happen to be awake?" She texted then clicked her phone shut. She sat her head back, making the room look upside down. How did she manage to get so unlucky with her roommate. They were exactly opposite. Kiersten's half was spotless and nicely decorated, while her roommates was cluttered, messy, and gross. |

There was a ding of a notification rather quickly. It probably wasn't difficult to work out it was Eveline. She practically lived on the phone, despite best efforts of nearly everyone in her life. Particularly when it included so prevalent on a school night.
"Yes, I'm up," said the text. "Why are you? How are you?"
Eveline did care about both Kiersten's and Knox's well being. It just depended how much she could actually do about it.
She wasn't actually sure about Kiersten. It had been a bit between when they had talked. And she couldn't say that she really knew what he had been up to. She was hoping nothing too stressful, but this was college after all. It was very different from the world they had left behind.

Knox glanced over at his phone, the screen lighting up catching his attention. Grabbing it, he unlocked it and opened the group chat he had with Kiersten and Eveline. It was almost three in the morning; usually he was the one still up that late. Unfortunately. He set his phone down again to wait for the replies soon to follow. The weekend had just started. He briefly wondered if they were going to suggest meeting up. It's been a while since they hung out with all their schedules clashing. Even the chat's been quiet lately. He wasn't the social one though, so it was easy to forget to talk at all. |
