I think they may know a bit more than the last set of teachers, Eveline typed after a second. I don't know. I'm just nervous about how it's going to go. She hit send before she could second guess her own concern about what she was typing. With that in mind, of course, she considered her dark ceiling. Then she typed again, I think I'm heading to bed soon.
(Did we want to skip or continue with the conversation?)

( Alright! )
probably better to go to sleep than stay up worrying the whole night. Knox replied, having been told the same advice time and time again from different people. He didn't usually listen to it, but maybe Eveline would. With Kiersten's question, he added, i'd aim for low expectations for teachers until we know them. It wasn't like he had any reason to believe they'd be nice anyways.

Kiersten turned her music down and threw her favorite blanket on her empty bed. Tomrrow. Five short hours. When she would open her eyes again, it would be time to go. You guys have a good night She texted back, hoping that the three of them would sleep good.

Good night, Eveline texted as well. She wasn't sure how to respond to the logical encouragement from Knox, but she hoped he knew that she appreciated it. But, however, she was still worried. It just meant that she could turn off her phone with a bit more peace of mind and set it on her bedside table. Tomorrow. She'd work things out tomorrow ...

(When they get together again sounds like the most opportunity for interesting RPing, but I'm interested in hearing Brindle's input.)

(I am heeeeeeeeere!)
Eveline walked across the campus green, her hand carefully holding her bag of books and trying to work out what she needed to do next. The line of her thoughts spun around and round, but there didn't seem to be an order. She settled for following the unfamiliar path between buildings, hoping that she was heading in the right direction to meet up with the others. The other students around were a blur of different colored shirts, but she paid little mind to that. It seemed too ... hard. Too stressful. What was it that they did here anyway? Were their clubs? Places to hang out? She didn't know. What she did know was that she wasn't apart of that world. Wasn't sure if she would be. Now. Where was she going?

Knox headed towards the location the three of them had picked earlier that morning to meet up. Now that he was trying to find it, he realized they should have picked an easier location, or settled for meeting in the dorm and walking there together. With his earbuds on, it made the noise of talk and laughter a bit easier to tolerate. Though he couldn't blast the music in his ears, at least he could focus on the lyrics instead of the people around him.
( I think it's just a lapse in my memory but the three of them are sharing a dorm right? )

(If not sharing, close to each other.)
Kiersten walked through the center of campus, a large smile on her face. She loved it here! So many people, new faces to learn, new people to meet. She placed her thumb on her phone to look at the texts sent earlier between her two highschool pals to figure out where they were supposed to be meeting. Confusion creased her brow. "The Commons.." She mumbeled to herself. Where on earth was that at... There was not a place on the campus map called that, and she felt like if she asked someone walking past they would look at her like she had three heads. The last thing she needed was a premature nickname to live down here for the next four years.

(Sounds good to me! What about nearby?)
Eveline had made it there first by the look of it. At least that's what it seemed to her. She hadn't noticed either of her other friends on the way there, so she could only assume that was the case. Anyway, she found herself waiting under a tree, looking out across the green. As for how she'd known where to go? Eavesdropping, for the most part. That's what made things easier. Or at least it gave her an idea of where she needed to be. From there it had mostly just been getting here on time. Which she had. Glancing around, she started whistling off key under her breath.
(Any thoughts on if there's a secret of some kind what it is and how to hint at it?)

( Nearby works! And maybe they just overhear other students talking about it? )
Giving up on his plan of walking around until he saw any sign of either Kiersten or Eveline, Knox turned his music slightly down to see if he could hear anyone mentioning the Commons. While he was fine with his original plan, he didn't want to keep them waiting if they were already there. The day he decides to ask someone for directions would have to be a day where he was fine with interacting with people, and besides being with his friends, that was probably never.
After a few minutes of listening and following those he heard were heading to the Commons, he finally got to the place and upon looking around, spotted Eveline waiting under a tree. He didn't see Kiersten nearby and wondered if she'd gotten lost as well. Knox walked over to Eveline, giving her a nod when she looked over.

Kiersten followed the flow of people coming in and out of one specific area. She assumed it was the commons, and with a quick glance around, she saw the outline of her two friends. Jumping up to her friends, she threw her hands in the air. "Hi guys! Sorry to keep y'all waiting. Im heeeerrrreee!" She squealed, tossing her back pack on the ground. With a huff she looked around. It was busy here. Lots of talking about odd topics and things, but she paid no mind. Maybe it was some sort of campus joke that started around recruitment day, when new people arrived here to try to make them uncomfortable. "How was your guy's first night? Mine was... interesting.." She crossed her arms as she sat in the grass. "My roomate is kind of.. annoying..." She thought about the night, how the girl she was pared with was obsessed with things that Kiersten had never even thought of before, and how she was up half of the night with her boyfriend... Or so she hoped it was her boyfriend. Her roommate was here for her second year of college and had a lot of unsolicited advice for Kiersten.

"It was okay," Eveline breathed, trying not to let on that she was overwhelmed, even though it was very obvious. She looked around, attempting to see what was going on, but mostly found herself just looking at the various people around them. A lot of what they were saying sounded ... very complicated. And everything seemed very overwhelming. But even still, she found that she was relaxing a bit more now that she had her friends with her. "My roommate was ... quite," she said. Which from Eveline was saying something. She didn't actually want to say anything, but her roommate hadn't exchanged more than two words with her and had disappeared either very late or very earlier, before Eveline had gotten up. There wasn't a lot to say to that and Eveline hardly knew his name. "Do either of you know what we should do?" she asked. "Classes don't start until next week. Feels a bit ... big." The campus felt like a small town, if she was honest. A town with very large buildings, lots of people, and most of those people a certain age. It was very odd.

Hearing Kiersten and Eveline talk about their roommates made him once again glad to have gotten a single person dorm room. It had cost more than sharing with someone but better to be alone than to have to tolerate someone who might get on your nerves. And even though he had no roommate to hear rumors from, the walk he'd taken last night before bed had given him just as many chances to hear what everyone was talking about as he was given standing in the middle of the Commons. "Let's go walk around. See if we can figure out where our classes are so we don't have to later." He'd figured it would be best to get away from everyone, and seeing how overwhelmed Eveline was, the sooner the better. "At the very least, we can figure out how not to get lost walking around this damn place." He looked around to see which direction was best to go off towards before picking one and walking.

Kiersten clapped her hands. "probably a good idea." She huffed as she lifted herself back onto her feet. In this specific moment, she wished she hadn't had brought her big bag with her. "Whats your first class?" She asked both of her friends.

"Chemistry," Eveline said softly by way of an answer. She was glad that Knox seemed to have a plan on what to do. She brightened a bit, glancing off toward the left and where several groups seemed to be going. It seemed like a good start. "There should be a map somewhere. Either a pamphlet or one we can take a picture of." She knew eventually that she'd become familiar with where everything was, but for the time being there still seemed to be so much. So much of it was also all in their own knots and groups. So were they, yes, but they seemed a bit less ... gossipy. Just confused. She followed after Knox, checking behind her that Kiersten was coming.

"English," Knox replied. He glanced over at Eveline when she mentioned finding a map and looked around for one. At times, he was glad for his height. This was one of those times as he looked over the crowd for a campus map on a bulletin board or something similar. After a little bit of looking, he found one on the wall posted up. "Anyone want to get a picture?" He asked, glancing back to make sure Eveline and Kiersten were still there.

Kiersten pulled her phone out of her back pocket and snapped a quick picture of the little map of campus. People were looking at the little group and whispereing, makingher feel self concious. taking deep breath and stepping out of the way for her two friends to do the same, she zoomed in and located her first period. "College Writing." She muttered, trying to find where that class's building would be. To her luck, it was opposite side of the campus from where her two friends would be. "Great." She muttered unhappily.

"Can't be that bad," Eveline said, trying to sound optimistic as she took her own picture. When she did, she found it was a bit blurry, but she felt too embarrassed to take another and just slipped her phone into her pocket before either of her friends could see. "Are we splitting up again?" she asked. She wasn't really prepared to do that. She really would have rathered they all stay in the same area and have some sort of ability to watch each other's backs as they learned about this campus. But from the sound of it, that wasn't going to be the case. She was disappointed, but understood. Instead she glanced toward Knox. "I guess if we need each other, we'll text?"

"Don't have to split up," Knox shrugged, quickly taking a picture before putting his phone back into his pocket. "Better to get lost as a group than by ourselves, though if you want to go alone we can always text if we need anything." Looking around at the other students and thinking about their gossip, he wasn't sure if he trusted any of them either. He rather stay with the two of them instead of getting stuck in some weird crowd.

Kiersten frowned. "I dont see any issue with helpng each other find their classes as a group. What else do we have to do today" She laughed nervously. The mere thought of walking alone through campus made her stomach turn into knots. "Id rather get lost as a group than anything." She muttered, glancing around. Her little group of friends were still getting weird and side ways glances from other students around them, and all the hushes voices sure didn't help her anxiety at all.

Eveline gave a bit of a relieved sigh now that Knox had suggested an alternative to splitting up. She nodded several times, agreeing that this was exactly what she would like. Following along, she tried not to pay attention to the knotted groups of people. Was this normal? She wasn't sure what she should be seeing in the college, but she didn't feel like these many stares should have been ... usual. Wasn't it more likely that there were more new students than just them? "Is this what college is supposed to be like?" she whispered, hoping that the others wouldn't mind that she suddenly seemed to be gossipy as well.

Knox wasn't sure what to tell Eveline. From what he's heard from his other friends, college sounded way more friendlier than what they were experiencing. If they'd known that the school they'd pick was so peculiar, he was sure they wouldn't have applied. "Let's get out of here," he mumbled, shooting a glance in the direction of the students that were sure to be whispering about them. He started leading the way out of the commons, hoping that there were less people outside.

Kiersten nodded and walked out. The stares and hushed tones of everyone made her skin crawl. She thought Highschool was bad, surely this couldnt be worse? Sighing, she leaned in as Evaline whispered. "I dont know.. Something has to be going on..." She whispered back. "I wonder if asking someone would be wrong..." She mused, looking at the picture she had taken on her phone of the map. The campus was in an octagon shape, meaning everything was weirdly connected, though you couldn't just walk through the whole building to get to your next class, you still had to walk outside to cross the campus to get there.
