hello! ^^' i don't know if y'all are looking for any more helpers with this idea, but i'm definitely interested! i love this kind of climate and used to run a clan based in the rockies. i'm a great coder and i've run multiple clans before... so, let me know if you could use my help with anything! i'd love to join once these clans are made, and i'll read everything now. <3

i don't think you need more, i feel like i've gotten the jist of the territory from what you have!!
i know drea is working a ton cause of the virus rn, but i know she's also working on the tunnel clan's territory. so in the meantime did you want to work out plot stuff or characters?

I like the lower clan's territory, too. Now all that's left is tunnel clan's.

lmao yeah that's totally fine. i was thinking that litter sizes would be around 2-5 kits per clan so there are plenty of available prophecy kits (although no guarantee they all make it to adulthood)

sounds good to me! looks like y'all got quite a bit going so far, everything sounds great! when talking about characters in general, would you want there to be some specific genetic traits/builds/colors that most cats tend to have? i don't know how recently they all split into different clans or if that would be enough time for them to grow genetically different, but i know when i had my mountain-based clan there were some typical guidelines (longer coats, larger builds, more neutral colors, etc.). Like just stuff that's unique to each clan that helps them survive in their territories better? because i'm sure a lot of cats that aren't genetically suited don't survive long or very well.

Yeah for sure! I'm not the biggest fan of limiting pelt colors and stuff since like yeah, realistically they would all have brown and grey pelts, but that's also boring too. So I generally put a little clan atrritbutes section where I say 'grey and brown both tabby and non tabby cats are the most common' but I don't usually enforce it that much. The only thing I'd definently regulate is that for SummitClan at least these cats better have long fur or they gonna freeze during polar night and winter. Other than that maybe large paws and tough pads for navigating the rocky mountain are common? Idk I'm open to ideas too

yeah, just little unique stuff like that? like i'm sure the tunneling cats are smaller on average and the summitclan cats are larger, summitclan cats are probably more long-furred, maybe they have big ol' feet, maybe the lowerclan cats have longer legs, idk. nothing like super enforced but i always think some individual traits are cute. like in the books where you see a Riverclan cat and on-sight you're like... oh yeah, that's a Riverclan cat, y'know?
also, i don't know if you were done with traditions or not, but an old idea of mine was like... a ritual for picking a mate. suitors would search around the territory for a shed deer/elk antler and present it to who they're trying to court (like an engagement ring basically lol) and there's like lore surrounding it that says that the more points on the antler the longer their relationship will last or like, maybe it's an indicator of how prosperous the couple will be with kits or something.

sorry, i didn't really mean limiting or strictly policing characters, but having like... some unique characteristics for each clan. like how Riverclan cats have sleek fur, or how Windclan cats are skinnier and smaller with longer legs... that kind of thing. of course, that doesn't apply to every cat! everyone is different.

So some guidelines but not too strictly enforced. As long as we don't create a SummitClan cat with incredible short fur we should be fine xD
Names work the same way as they do in the books, right? Except maybe for the leaders since the ancestors aren't StarClan. Any forbidden prefixes and suffixes?
red's suggestion about having a ritual for picking a mate sounds nice, too. Maybe not for tunnel clan but it would definitely work for lower clan.

Summitclan - Long thick pelts, stiff paw pads, and well muscled
Lowerclan - Long legs, umm xD
Tunnelclan - Short pelts, lean and small bodies, stronger senses such as eye sight/hearing

I do like the idea of tunnel cats being smaller too!
The tradition I feel works the best for the lower clan so it's up to stitch but I do like it a ton!
I also feel like it makes sense that the lower clan would have the most variety when it comes to cat colors and shapes and stuff since they do live with a lot a variety in terms of territory.
And yeah names would work the same. I believe we were talking about giving leaders the suffix -light instead of -star so light would probably be forbidden. Same with haze as both a prefix and suffix.

Yup, -light was a leader-thing. And banning haze makes sense, too. Depending on what the clans are called, those names would probably be forbidden too. For example if they were called EchoClan and RiftClan, echo and rift wouldn't be an option for the cat names. Are there any other 'sacred' words or would that be all?

So for the plot, they'll find out about the prophecy cats before they're born and assume others are the ones due to misunderstandings. Are the kits born moons later or what will happen with that? Will the leaders all be dead at the end of this for being corrupted? Also will the clans just be at war for the dead queen and thinking they have the prophecy cats or is there more to it?

Okay so yeah.
Basically all medicine cats from the clans receive the same prophecy warning of an approaching danger and heroes born to save the clans. However the prophecy is vague case in point the line 'heroes with blood of gold'. This line is accompanied by an image of the medicine cat's leader and thus all 3 main medicine cats see different cats. Because of this no one knows which clan the prophecy kits are going to be born in although everyone assumes they have to be the kits of leaders (which is not true they just need to be kin of the leaders). This begins to stir up tension between clans as many think that only the clan in which the kits are born into will be saved from the danger. This all reaches its boiling point when the mate of one of the leaders is found murdered on the border (I'm assuming somewhere in the lower/foot of mountain since all 3 clans have limited claim to that territory). This sparks an all out war between the three clans as the leader who mate was murdered declares war on both clans until the murderer comes forward and is punished. While it's possible the other two clans formed an alliance I was thinking that one if them was the violent leader and saw it as an opportunity to steal territory from both clans that would explain the each clan for themselves mentality I wanted to set up. The kits are born after a few moons and as children of leaders everyone believes them to be the cats in the prophecy. From there the plot focuses on the war going on and cats wanting peace/revenge, the shortcoming of the leaders (maybe even leading to a mutanity in one of the clans), and the prophecy kits themselves. We do have end game with the plot other for the prophecy and murderer but idk if y'all want me to spoil the surprise (I'll send it in our chat tho Stitch)

I was thinking that the entire litter would be part of the prophecy, however you could play around with the other kit being from an earlier litter? Like they were already born when the prophecy was received or something?
I don't think it'll necessarily be the end of the clans, more the beginning of a new chapter. We'll see tho.

So what about the non-prophecy kits who get mistaken for being the chosen ones? Are they going to grow up believing they're special? And even more important, what will happen once they find out they aren't the ones? I guess some will be relieved since it would be way too much responsibility, other's would probably grow resentful.

for the ones who were believed to be part of the prophecy i was thinking they'd belong to the same clan as the leader's mate who got murdered. because of that a sibling of the leader would have kits before the leader (the prophecy kits) and if the leader took a new mate just for the sake of having the prophecy kits (kinda morbid but it would be an interesting couple dynamic) then those kits would grow up believing they were the ones in the prophecy. The lie would be up when the others receive their visions that tells them they are the ones from the prophecy. However it would be their word vs everyone else's so the actual prophecy kits might be assumed to be lying or something.
alright, well let me know if you come up with another way to have them included!
