the species of Fylaria - - x
reapers - known as the bridge between the living and dead worlds, this species is a bit more rare than the others. They have two forms, the first being very similar to a regular human form, the only distinguishable thing about them is that they have no pupils. The other form is their reaper form, which is a personification of each reaper as their own worst fear. (if they're scared of clowns, their reaper form would be them as a terrifying clown). Their powers include shadow manipulation (think Pride from full metal alchemist), illusion manipulation, and the ability to look at people and see their worst fears. Weaknesses include cobalt.
werewolves - They usually live in packs, so if you find one, you'll find a lot more close by. They have two forms, a regular human form, nothing really distinguishable, except that they usually have pretty bushy and thick hair. Their other form is a wolf that is roughly the size of a horse with immense strength, speed and heightened senses. Their hair and eyes in their human form tend to stick through to their fur and eyes in werewolf form. On the full moon they are unable to switch into their human form and become immensely stronger. Their weakness is silver.
shapeshifters - Similar to werewolves, they live in packs, usually based on what they like to shift in to. Shapeshifters can have unlimited forms, as they can shift into almost anything, as long as it's living and animal-based, so they can't shift into plants, but definitely a dragon or some made up animal in their head. They can't stay in a shifted form for long, usually something low power, like a horse or wolf lasts a couple hours and something like a sea monster would be like fifteen minutes. Their weaknesses are silver and iridium.
wizards - Pretty much straight out of harry potter, they are the most human-like of the eight. They don't have any separate forms unless they conjure themselves into something with a spell, but it doesn't last very long. Most of them carry wands and can perform any variety of spells from summoning spiders to unlocking doors. The way they cast spells is more like a request than strange sayings or Latin words, so to unlock a door, a wizard would simply point their wand at the door and say, "unlock". They are weak to iron.
angels - They all conjugate together in one large city in their territory and answer to a much higher power. They only have one main form which always consists of a bright halo and light-colored feathery wings protruding from their back. Some angels have sparkling markings upon their skin. Their powers consist of light magic and healing, as well as flight. Their weaknesses are dark magic and iron.
demons - Easily the most distinguishable of the eight, demons typically do not live in large groups. They have one main form and it can vary greatly, most all demons do have horns and bat-like wings protruding out of their back. Demons can also have markings upon their skin, fangs, long claws, tails and strange-colored eyes, it usually depends on the clan. Their powers consist of dark magic (think dark magic from the dragon prince) and flight. Their weaknesses are iron and holy water.
elementals - They have the most variation of all the species power-wise. Elementals also look very human, the only difference being they usually have extremely abnormal eye colors as well as a marking on their left shoulder of what kind of elemental they are. The types of elementals include the main four; water, earth, fire and air, as well as storm, poison, time, and space (more like telekinesis and not actual outer space). Their weakness is gold.
vampires - They live in covens together, which is pretty much just like a pack but with less hierarchy. Their main and usually only form is very much like a human, except they have fangs and blood-red eyes and are typically pretty pale. Their powers consist of super strength, super speed, and heightened senses. Some vampires can shapeshift into bats. They drink blood and many wear a blood stone around their neck to protect them from sunlight. Their weaknesses are wooden stakes and direct sunlight..

The Reaper - Christina De La Cruz - Female - 20 - the beekeeper's daughter -
Christina is really short for her age, being at about 4'11. She's average weight and she has some muscle to her. Her skin tone is a dark olive, her Hispanic traits shining through. She has long, black hair that's thicker than like three peoples' combined and it's about mid-back length. Her eyes are a deep caramel color and her lashes always have a thick coat of mascara on them, and winged eyeliner, always black. Christina has that look and it works for her, believe me. She has her cartilage pierced, her ears are double pierced, so is her bellybutton, so she owns a lot of earrings. Her favorite colors are purple, silver and black, which is she wears most of the time. A long sleeve top and shorts is her favorite combo, she prefers to wear shorts anytime she can. Jeans are only brought out when the winter months hit, then she bundles up like she's going to Antarctica. She always has earrings in all of her piercings. She wears a lot of rings and bracelets. Christina has third degree burn scars that run all across her arms and down her sides that she tries to hide at all costs. Christina suffers from RBF (resting b face) so she usually looks like she’s never in the mood to talk to anyone or is enjoying anything, but it’s just her face. She’s a bit shy and takes awhile to warm up to people, but usually does after awhile, she just won’t talk about herself much. Christina will keep a conversation once someone tries to talk to her, but she’s not that good at casual talk. After you break through her quiet shell, Christina’s a very nice person and moderately talkative. She’s a good friend and will always have your back when troubles arise, no matter what the case is. She’s not really the best at working with others or in groups as she prefers to work alone, believing that the problem can be solved faster if she does it herself. Christina hates to be patronized, especially since she has a bit of a Spanish accent and some people tend to question her intelligence because of that. On the outside she appears very tough and hard to scare, but if you figure out her fears, she grows more petrified than serial killer victims. She can speak fluent Spanish and loves to cook - especially enchiladas. She has bad trust issues, learning Russian is easier than getting Christina to play twenty questions, she doesn’t like talking about herself and is always curious why you need to know about her. She hates to be touched and isn’t the romantic or lovey type, but if you make a visible effort, Christina might just do the same. She’s very wary with people and will often just watch you and try to get a feel of your personality before making any real contact. Christina doesn’t get mad easy, but she can easily turn into the petty type and give you the cold shoulder if you make her mad enough. When need be, Christina can make her footsteps very quiet and could walk through a room without a sound. Christina loves dogs, jamming out to music (even though she’s a terrible singer) and mountain climbing.
Even with her tough exterior, Christina fears many things, fire, bathtubs, rejection, and house cleaners. Christina is terrified of fire and won't come close to a flame if you force her. Christina doesn't show her emotions too much, always acting like she's tough and doesn't need them. She never cries, never wanting to show weakness.
In her reaper form, Christina's eyes stay the same lifeless gray and look like they've been covered in six+ coats of black eye liner...and she has no irises or pupils. Across her face is a diagonal scar looks like it was just stitched up, puffy, pink with blood streaming out of it. The scar runs down her neck and all over her arms and legs. Her hair grows a bit and she has violet streaks running through it. The thing that scares most people about Christina's reaper form is her skin. It gives the appearance that's it's constantly melting off and her burn scars look much worse and through the melting skin, you can see down to her bones at parts. Grossly sprouting from her back, are black angel wings that have been broken with most of the feathers torn or ripped out. She is covered in a dress made of a pulsing black mist and wears heels made of bloody bones. Like all reapers, Christina's represents what she fears most, being burned alive and being cast out of heaven.
Christina's crystal is a deep purple-violet color with black and silver specks.
The Werewolf - Clarisse Alinsky - Female - 25- ѕнσσт ƒσя тнє ѕтαяѕ -
With honey brown eyes, butter blond hair, and tanned skin, Clarisse is striking in every sense of the word. She stands at an above-average height of 6'0" but her imposing presence makes her seem even taller. She is lithe with long legs and smooth planes, but also has curves and toned muscles in all the right places. She's in excellent physical condition and can best some of the males in her pack in a show of brute force. Two scars extend from her bottom lip to her chin from where claws ripped through her face in a fight. These scars aren't severe though they do cause some to pause to stare in town. However, high cheekbones mixed with rosy, sinister lips make her an attractive woman indeed. Even still, the lines of her face hold a certain ruggedness that make her more of a wild, untamed beauty as if something in her cannot be restrained. She usually leaves her shoulder-length blonde hair down giving it the freedom to tickle her tan neck. Occasionally, she will throw it up in a tight rose styled braid with yellow wildflowers tucked in her thick hair. Clarisse almost always wears some type of pants and loose-fitting shirts that do nothing to compliment her figure. Plain and simple clothing that serves her needs of movement. She's more of a practically over fashion type of girl and rarely will she wear cosmetics. She is partially (basically) deaf in her left ear which makes detecting the placement of sound hard for her sometimes.
Headstrong or stubborn doesn't even begin to describe this feisty woman. Mulish might be a better descriptor. Clarisse is radically confident about herself though if you spoke to her, she wouldn't necessarily come across as if 'in your face' about it. She knows when to be humble, but also when the situation calls for her to be in complete control. Her mind is analytical and highly active so she tends to make decisions and stick to them. However, being in a pack her whole life has made her a team player for things that aren't competition. Extremely competitive, she has been known to be sore for days over a game of bets. It's also not unheard of her getting into fights and the scars on her face come from a bar fight from a few years ago. She's complicated to the core, messy and wild and wholly joyful. She almost always has a smile on her face, finding happiness in life in the little things. A lover of nature, Clarisse prefers not to be barefoot if she can get away with it. Some would describe her as carefree though she just prefers wild. Her romantic interests are few and far between and are usually limited to one night adventures though she isn't opposed to a longer relationship. She simply doesn't like the idea of being tied down to one place or one thing for too long. Despite her faults (and believe me, she knows she has many of them), she is a capable team member that can get things done even if they are a little shady in nature. On a different note, Clarisse loves to eat and will often be found munching on some sort of fruit or vegetable to satisfy her constantly hungry stomach. She blames the hunger on her being a werewolf.
Clarisse's wolf form is much larger than one would expect, the size of horse or bigger. She is almost as big as some of the males in her pack. Lean, but with a fine layer of muscle, she is more suited to brute force than speed. Her fur is almost the exact shade of creamy blond as her human hair with slight highlights spread throughout. Her underbelly, jaw, and the mask around her eyes are a lighter shade of blond, almost white in color. Her eyes remain the same as well making her quite recognizable.
Clarisse's crystal is a pearly white color that when rotated in the sun, shimmers with an almost blue to a pink sheen.
The Wizard - Lilah Lancaster - Female - 20 - Stαrchαser-
Lilah is an inconspicuous girl, seeming to have some sort of quality that makes people pass her by without much thought. The first impression upon meeting her doesn't often instill confidence that she would be prophecy material. She's on the shorter side, about 5'0", with a light, slender build. Despite having Hispanic ancestry, she's quite pale from spending most her time indoors poring over books on a wide range of subjects or practicing magic. She has long, glossy black hair that goes to her mid-back. Her hair is her pride and joy, one of the few parts of her physical appearance she cares for. She prefers to let her hair fall free much of time, but also tries out complex braids. Though her eyes are naturally a rich, deep brown, she keeps them dark blue with magic (or contacts). Lilah prefers to not draw attention to herself, and her style reflects that. She primarily wears neutral colors, such as black, white, and gray. She may mix in a dark blue or purple occasionally. Her most noticeable piece of clothing is a black cloak embroidered with swirling silver markings, which she rarely is seen without. She has pierced ears and keeps a silver star locket on a necklace, along with her crystal, but otherwise cares little for jewelry. She uses a wand carved from willow bark.
Lilah is a bit of a conundrum. Around strangers, she acts polite but reserved, and can often come off as being emotionless or even having no personality at first. This could hardly be farther from the truth, however. Quiet and studious, Lilah embodies the common wizard stereotype. She is intensely curious about many things, particularly the mysterious and unknown, and has a wealth of both random and useful knowledge at her disposal. She is empathetic and highly intuitive, often feeling more than knowing certain truths. She has thus come to rely on her gut instinct. This isn't to say that she is reckless, quite the contrary, but she has come to trust certain feelings.
Her personality can be a bit hard to pin down, as she tends to put on a facade tailored specifically for each person. This is primarily due to her intense distrust of others, which is also why she tends to be a lone wolf. It takes a lot of time and patience to wear her down enough to show her true colors. Lilah is generally kind to others, but once befriended she becomes doggedly loyal and self-sacrificing. Though it comes as a surprise to most, she has a rather adventurous and impulsive streak, not hesitating to take a sudden excursion into the unknown or throw herself in danger if necessary (totally not because she has a martyr complex). She can also be rather sarcastic and snarky when in the right company, and her humor is known for being dark. At her core, Lilah is a strange mixture of idealistic and cynical. On the darker side of things, she is easily embittered and prone to bouts of discouragement. Her fears tend to be abstract, with failure and abandonment being at the top of her list. Invoking her wrath is ill-advised, as she holds grudges for a long time and wont hesitate to completely turn her back on people.
Her appearance and quiet demeanor has fooled many into believing she is weak. Though physically she's not the most powerful, Lilah is quite adept with magic. She can come up with spells quickly and is often changing and improving the many she already knows. Owed in part to her cloak, which she has enchanted, Lilah is quite stealthy and easily slips around unnoticed. She works well both independently or beside others, and is naturally cooperative in a group, but strongly prefers to be alone.
Lilah's crystal is an intense, dark indigo with hints of amethyst and crimson.
The Angel - Avani Roshan -Female - 23 - Amber -
Avani has dark tan skin scattered with patches of freckles. She has dark, curly brown hair that appears to be almost black. She keeps it rather short and has both sides and the back shaved down underneath. She often parts her hair to one side or keeps in a small bun. Avani is rather tall, standing around 5'8''. That couples with her muscular build makes for a rather imposing and intimidating figure. Her blue-gray eyes are usually bright, clear, and thoughtful. They're usually the first thing people notice about her. The only other things that draw their attention are her wings and halo. Light gray wings that almost look like ash sprout from her back. She usually keeps her golden halo around her wrist like a bracelet. She tends to wear vests or sleeveless shirts.
Despite her intimidating appearence, Avani is rather friendly and sweet. She tends to have an open mind and enjoys talking to people as she's rather talkative. She's the the type of person who usually starts a conversation, even if that person doesn't want to speak. She's bad at reading people, so she tends to just chat away even if there's protest. Avani likes to questions things and tends to be very curious. Her philosophical side comes through often as she let's her mind wander. She enjoys looking at things from all angles, even if she doesn't agree with or believe in the line of thinking. This helps her keep an open mind as she tries to understand everything in the world. Of course it also causes her to step on a few toes as she's usually oblivious to people's reaction. Her energetic nature doesn't help this either. She likes to move around and explore, which often gets her into trouble. That coupled with a bit of over-confidence makes for a less than ideal combination. Despite her energeticness and confidence, Avani is quite patient. Almost too patient and even diplomatic with people who don't deserve it. It takes a lot to set her off, but when she does get mad she becomes rather threatening and intimidating.
Like all angels, Avani has the power of flight due to her wings. She also has some healing abilities, though it's the best healer out there. She can stabilize those severely injured and heal small cuts and wounds. She can't take care of things like infections or sicknesses. Whereas she's not the best with matter of healing, she is much more skilled with light magic. Whether it's brighting up a path or creating displays of light, she can manage most of those things. Like other angels, Avani is weakened against things made of iron and the elements of dark magic pose a threat.
Avani's crystal is a bright golden-orange with silver marbling. She keeps it strapped to her waist. The Demon - Xaoc Natrye - Male - 18 - Cholorform -
Xaoc stands at 6"4 and weights in at about 175 pounds. They're really skinny and you can see they're ribs most of the time. You can see a lot of their bones poking out against the skin. They're truly "skin and bones." But despite the way they look,they aren't sick nor do they have a disease of some sort. They're just naturally skinny and to be quite frank they eat more than they should. They're skin is a light orange,almost peach colour and bears a single black line spreading from the palm of their right palm,around the wrist to the top of the arm,which then runs along the arm to the shoulder. From there it splits,one line going around the neck to cover the whole left side of the face. The other part spreads down the spine and down the back of the right leg. They're eyes are a calm grey but it still stands out from the light orange of the most of the body.
If you were to describe them in just a few words they'd be: Rude and blunt but passive. Xaoc doesn't have very many opinions about other entities. You simply exist until you have a direct interaction with them. First impressions are ultimately what decides their opinion on you because in all truthfulness the chances you're going to get to change their mind is a very small number. They'd rather not talk more than required and they only speak when there's something that needs to be said. This is where the "blunt and rude" part comes in. They don't sugarcoat things. No matter how cruel or hurtful it may be. They have no regard for how it might affect you or make you feel and will act almost as if you were a book being read for their amusement.
They do however have a more likeable trait. They love plants. A lot. So much they'll risk their life for one. They also carry around a small pouch containing about 20 pumpkin seeds. No particular reason but it's there just in case.
Their crystal is a light magenta with splotches of yellow here and there.
The Vampire - Alexander Rojas Lopez -Male - 20 - mossecho -
Alex tries his best to conform to vampire stereotypes: all black clothes, expensive tastes, and over-dramatic moping. He strives to cultivate an intimidating image. This is mainly executed through wearing either black three-piece suits or lounge clothes (again, all black) that cost far more than what they are worth. Whatever his outfit, it is complete with long sleeves and pants. A vampire must keep the sun away. Alex also keeps a simple gold necklace with a cross around his neck, the chain tucked beneath his shirt. Occasionally the necklace will peek over the top, but the cross rarely becomes visible.
Unfortunately, his persistent fear of embarrassment taints his persona. Alex is a deeply self-conscious person. His self-consciousness can be helpful (it perfected his posture and skincare routine), but it is also harmful. Alex struggles to initiate conversation among strangers. He can be charming for short bursts, but prolonged interaction drains him. Besides, that charisma only works when he is only around one person. Multiple people create a more complex social scenario. The more people there are, the more unpredictable variables, the less Alex can control. His self-consciousness prevents him from even slightly exposing himself to embarrassment. He does not want to say the wrong thing, so he does not say anything.
Alex is not an expressive person. Why should he be? As far as he is concerned, being vulnerable would only embarrass him. When he questions his identity as a Latino, he does not mention it. If Alex is frightened by something, he does not mention it. Basically if something bothers Alex, he will not mention it.
Returning to his appearance, Alex is a rather lanky person. His skin is not as pale as the average vampire, sure, but it holds a distinct cold undertone beneath the regular brown. His hair is black and well-combed. His features are a bit sharp with a pointy nose and angular brows. Still, Alex is close to plain. Not particularly remarkable or memorable, save his red eyes. Among his fellow vampires they are normal, but any outsider would find them… unusual. Disturbing, perhaps, or even disarming. Reminders of Alex’s diet tend to be unusual for non-vampires. When he is around other species, Alex wears sunglasses. He does not want to be too different. That would be embarrassing.
While Alex certainly has some things to improve about himself, he is a distinctly principled person. If he commits to something, then he will do it. If he promises something, he will follow through. Alex is a very honest man. While he does not talk much, he will answer almost all questions honestly and fully. He prefers blunt truths over white lies, a preference that can get him in trouble. Nevertheless, Alex is very reliable. If you need to confide in someone, if you need help, go to Alex.
Alex can shift into a bat but not for long. His bat form resembles a large canyon bat. Alex rarely shifts. He was the only vampire in his coven who could, so out of politeness he rarely shifted. He grew up wanting to conform, so his refusal to shift became a symptom of that. Besides, the canyon bat is a fluffy creature. That doesn’t match a stereotypical vampire. Alex’s crystal is pitch black. There are drops of scarlet beneath the surface, vaguely resembling blood splatter.
The Shapeshifter - - Zephyr Hastings male — 24 — ✧☽ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏᴇʀ ☾✧
At first glance, Zephyr Hastings is a pretty average guy. He is quietly attractive, with reddish brown hair that is in a near-constant state of messy: short around the back and sides of his head and a little longer on top and in front. He has an olive complexion with golden undertones, thanks to time spent outdoors and in the sun, and his lower face is often shadowed with a five o'clock shadow. His eyes are constantly shifting, just as he does. They are a bright hazel, a mix of brown and gold and green, with the occasional traces of pale blue-grey appearing as well. When Zephyr shifts, his eyes become more solidly one color, settling on the color best suited to the animal form he takes. Zephyr is tall and lithe (6'2"), and well-muscled; not buff, yet stronger than he looks (185lbs). He exercises regularly, but he mostly plays sports (baseball, soccer, and hockey being his favorites) to keep fit. Zephyr wears jeans (often with holes in the knees) and t-shirts — some plain, but most with amusing phrases on them. On his feet he usually wears a pair of good, sturdy running shoes, and in cooler weather he wears a bomber jacket with a fiery phoenix design on the back. He also wears, at all times, a leather cord around his neck that is adorned with a pendant etched with the words: Not all who wander are lost.
Zephyr is a wildcard. He is an adventure-seeker, a risk-taker, and a free spirit. He does not like being still, and hardly ever remains in one place for long periods. This has made him a bit of an outcast among the other Shifters, for most of them are family and clan oriented. And while the majority of them prefer a certain few forms, Zephyr is constantly trying new ones. He has his favorites, but that doesn't stop him from changing it up every chance he gets. Zephyr is independent and competitive. He enjoys company but does not rely on it to be happy, and he is always seeking more ways to challenge himself — against himself and others. He is quick-witted and funny, open and non-judgmental. He has his way of life, and he understands that others have theirs. He evaluates a person based on their character and attitude, and not their past or the choices they had to make to get where they are. Zephyr always tries to see the best in people, but he is not naïve enough to believe that there is no evil. He is often seen as reckless and immature, but he is not stupid or near-sighted. He sees more than others realize, and he is very good at reading a room. He doesn't have a lot of close relationships, for he rarely stays in one place long enough to form them. But he does seek human company and attention fairly regularly, either for new challenges, a bit of friendly competition, or sometimes more... physical needs — which is pretty much the extent of his romantic relations. Zephyr is always eager to explore the unknown, be it person, place, or thing. And if his mind and body aren't engaged and in use, then one should always expect the unexpected from him — with a healthy dose of trouble for good measure.
Zephyr is a flexible, adaptable, and resilient young man, and those qualities are definitely some of his greatest strengths. He is determined and driven, always striving to do better, be better. He is decisive and quick to act, and he thinks well on the spot. In fact, he thinks best in crisis situations and when under pressure. He has outstanding endurance and stamina, steller communication skills, and great instincts. He is easy-going and entertaining, and he won't hesitate to get the job done, as quickly as possible. Zephyr's greatest strength comes from his ability to see the best in people, in his skill in encouraging their talents to mature and blossom. To teach is to learn: to learn is to teach. It is the philosophy he lives by, and he even has the words permanently inked into his skin over his heart.
On the other side of Zephyr's wild card persona is a guy who can be impatient when things are moving too slowly. He can be pushy about reaching a decision, and he has a tendency to be a bit confrontational and impulsive. He often bends or outright breaks the rules to get things done his way, and he doesn't do well with authority of any kind. Zephyr's greatest weakness is his tendency to leap first, look second (not always literally), and his biggest fear is being trapped in one place, one body, forever. He also has mild claustrophobia (with spaces, not people), and he always gets queasy at the sight of blood or particularly gruesome injuries on others. He's fine with his own blood/injuries (usually), but seeing others hurt is another matter entirely.
Zephyr can take any animal form he desires. He does not have any specific preferences, but he does enjoy becoming different mythical creatures, like a phoenix, dragon, griffin, and the like. He also has a penchant for turning into different canine, cat, and bird of prey species. Zephyr prefers predators over prey animals, but he also knows when a swift deer or gentle rabbit are better suited to his needs, and he won't hesitate to take the form most compatible with the job at hand. Whichever form he takes — whether it has fur, feathers, or scales — he is most often varying shades of brown in color, with red undertones, markings, or accents. For more exotic creatures, however, he is red in color. His eyes turn from an array of different colors to one near-solid hue, based entirely on what animal form he takes. His cat forms, for example, have green-gold eyes, while his prey forms most often have brown eyes, and his more exotic forms have blue or grey eyes.
Zephyr's crystal is a bright turquoise, blue with streaks of green and hints of violet.
The Elemental - Byun 'V' Vēive - Male - 22 - spiderlace-
Vēive stands at 6'1 with an athletic sinewy-muscled build that belies his much understated grace. Mainly because he's enough of a klutz that it's rarely seen...Yet he approaches most everything with the same easygoing confidence, very much aware of his attractive face; comprised of prominent arched brows, a strong jaw, and cat-like eyes alternately rimmed in kohl or contrasting light hues. Veive's eyes are unarguably his most captivating feature- A rosy blend of amaranth and cerise that starts out clear and darkens as the color nears his slightly misshapen pupils. They convey both compassion and openness, yet simultaneously manage to be as inexpressive as his coolly handsome features. His neat hair is naturally an absolute obsidian, devoid of sheen and so dark it seems to steal the light from the space it occupies. Unsatisfied with such a 'boring' lack of color, Veive is so rarely seen with it that the shade may as well not bear mention. His hair is currently dyed in three different hues; pastel blue on the right, cherry in the middle, and pastel pink on his left. His hair is naturally fluffy and slightly curled, often bearing the odd twist or braid as he plays with it when fidgeting. Veive's ears are pierced multiple times and the type of piercing varies, though he's very fond of cuffs, climbers, and anything that dangles. On the many occasions where he playfully sticks out his tongue, a faux gold heart is revealed near its center. The only other accessories that he's constantly wearing are a powder blue lace choker with a teardrop-shaped rose quartz at its center, an heirloom from his late grandmother that he sees as a talisman of sorts; a fraying striped ribbon featuring faded versions of his current hair colors- The ribbon is always on his person but takes many forms- a wristband, belt, quick way of tying his hair back, etc- and gloves to protect his hands, often white and made of a sturdy but breathable material. Veive's left wrist bears a trio of Korean poker cards with the center one facing up, emblazoned with a +7끗 that peeks out to rest partially over the heel of his palm to symbolize 'cards up his sleeve'. His right wrist is inked with 181338 in interlocking gold script, often appearing to be a bracelet at first. (Markings representing his elements are on left bicep) While fond of the stereotypical 'vampire' style- he appreciates the ~drama~ of it all- Veive can also be seen wearing clothes that look 'casual' but are generally designer. He wears a lot of white, reflecting his desire to work in the medical field. V wears dark contacts when the need arises.
Veive creates and generates cheer- but in a strangely quiet manner. He may not be the loudest in the room, and his initially inexpressive features tend to give one the impression of cold reserve, but he truly is a warmhearted person. It's simply difficult to convey that well- he ends up seeming brusque and socially awkward instead, though he's often none the wiser. A bit of an extrovert, he's the type who loves people in general and loves to be around them. He's optimistic and bubbly, full to bursting with carefully restrained energy and good humor. Growing up in a loving household has made Veive very honest and openly affectionate; It's a struggle to curb his puppy-love urges around people who are unfamiliar with him, but society has forced him to succeed more often than not. Still, his adoring nature tends to lead to many misconceptions and has resulted in his reputation as a flirt and 'playboy'. Compassionate and easygoing, Veive can get along with even the most ill-tempered of people- mostly due to his selective hearing and sunshiny attitude. Unfortunately he's also eager-to-please and gives the impression of naïvety, making him a popular target as he rarely says 'no' to anyone and tends to do whatever is asked of him to the best of his ability. This is a side-effect of his self-sacrificing nature and diminished sense of self, something rather small in childhood that grew to encompass his whole life; Veive can't quite seem to think about or care about himself enough to stop and evaluate how he really feels, or how damaging something might be for him. There are times when one could worry about just how strong his grip on reality is- Veive is a touch too bright-natured and unflappable in even dire circumstances, with a kind of hazy quality about him that could hint at his not being entirely present, so to speak. Not that this doesn't occasionally serve him well- It ensures that he can steer through undesirable situations when they would be otherwise difficult under emotional strain.
His toned body speaks of a love for physical activity, yet his graceful artist's hands hint at a more artistic nature- Veive does his best to keep in shape- he can help more people that way!- but is simultaneously very protective of his hands, at least. He wants to be capable of delicate procedures and the like, a side-effect of which results in his being non-combative and naturally out of his depth in close quarters. He relies on his elements a bit too much to keep him out of trouble, but somewhat makes up for this by being familiar with Muay Thai kickboxing. Not enough to be proficient, but to a point where he isn't completely overwhelmed. Veive often finds that he must make it clear that he's a pacifist, yet doesn't see that his actions don't always reflect that. He believes that the world should be as simple as he is; if there is a swift and effective way to solve a problem- in his mind- he won't hesitate to act on it. No matter what that may be. In a way, this makes Veive innocently ruthless as he doesn't quite seem able to comprehend just how much damage he can cause. Especially when considering his naturally doting nature: Veive loves taking care of others, cooking, praise, and physical affection in any form. It's quite easy to make him melt and fall halfway in love with someone- another reason he's so easy to take advantage of.
Stormcalling is his most powerful but destructive element. It's difficult to control and prone to friendly fire if not carefully managed. He's also incapable of using it unless he's singing or verbalizing in some way. Nonetheless, Byun loves it despite not always being able to utilize storms to their fullest extent. It's rare for him to be alone in an area that could take a beating. V's second element is 'Space', the ability to shorten the distance between himself, others, or an object which works in away similar to teleportation. He can also manipulate the 'space' around objects and people to give the impression of telekinesis. This element is used often, but usually in more mundane settings. It has a side-effect of making him dizzy and directionally challenged if used too much and in quick succession- Veive can become confused as to where he is and won't know up from down. Besides this, it isn't quiet reflexive and he must actively concentrate on its continued use. For more challenging objects/people and distances, Veive must make physical contact to move them. He facilitates teleporting between greater distances by leaving a mark in the place- usually with a strike of lightning. Thus all of Veive's movements are generally announced with a strike of lightning and the clap of thunder that heralds his teleportation. All of his abilities are a touch underdeveloped as he's never put much effort in using them constructively or improving them beyond their current level. (His singing is also like AURORA's in which he occasionally strings together sounds and nonsense words that sound beautiful and somehow fit perfectly-)
His crystal is the pale pink of his rose quartz yet appears carnation red in indirect sunlight.

Zephyr Hastings — male — twenty-four
At first glance, Zephyr Hastings is a pretty average guy. He is quietly attractive, with reddish brown hair that is in a near-constant state of messy: short around the back and sides of his head and a little longer on top and in front. He has an olive complexion with golden undertones, thanks to time spent outdoors and in the sun, and his lower face is often shadowed with a five o'clock shadow. His eyes are constantly shifting, just as he does. They are a bright hazel, a mix of brown and gold and green, with the occasional traces of pale blue-grey appearing as well. When Zephyr shifts, his eyes become more solidly one color, settling on the color best suited to the animal form he takes. Zephyr is tall and lithe (6'2"), and well-muscled; not buff, yet stronger than he looks (185lbs). He exercises regularly, but he mostly plays sports (baseball, soccer, and hockey being his favorites) to keep fit. Zephyr wears jeans (often with holes in the knees) and t-shirts — some plain, but most with amusing phrases on them. On his feet he usually wears a pair of good, sturdy running shoes, and in cooler weather he wears a bomber jacket with a fiery phoenix design on the back. He also wears, at all times, a leather cord around his neck that is adorned with a pendant etched with the words: Not all who wander are lost.
Zephyr is a wildcard. He is an adventure-seeker, a risk-taker, and a free spirit. He does not like being still, and hardly ever remains in one place for long periods. This has made him a bit of an outcast among the other Shifters, for most of them are family and clan oriented. And while the majority of them prefer a certain few forms, Zephyr is constantly trying new ones. He has his favorites, but that doesn't stop him from changing it up every chance he gets. Zephyr is independent and competitive. He enjoys company but does not rely on it to be happy, and he is always seeking more ways to challenge himself — against himself and others. He is quick-witted and funny, open and non-judgmental. He has his way of life, and he understands that others have theirs. He evaluates a person based on their character and attitude, and not their past or the choices they had to make to get where they are. Zephyr always tries to see the best in people, but he is not naïve enough to believe that there is no evil. He is often seen as reckless and immature, but he is not stupid or near-sighted. He sees more than others realize, and he is very good at reading a room. He doesn't have a lot of close relationships, for he rarely stays in one place long enough to form them. But he does seek human company and attention fairly regularly, either for new challenges, a bit of friendly competition, or sometimes more... physical needs — which is pretty much the extent of his romantic relations. Zephyr is always eager to explore the unknown, be it person, place, or thing. And if his mind and body aren't engaged and in use, then one should always expect the unexpected from him — with a healthy dose of trouble for good measure.
Zephyr is a flexible, adaptable, and resilient young man, and those qualities are definitely some of his greatest strengths. He is determined and driven, always striving to do better, be better. He is decisive and quick to act, and he thinks well on the spot. In fact, he thinks best in crisis situations and when under pressure. He has outstanding endurance and stamina, steller communication skills, and great instincts. He is easy-going and entertaining, and he won't hesitate to get the job done, as quickly as possible. Zephyr's greatest strength comes from his ability to see the best in people, in his skill in encouraging their talents to mature and blossom. To teach is to learn: to learn is to teach. It is the philosophy he lives by, and he even has the words permanently inked into his skin over his heart.
On the other side of Zephyr's wild card persona is a guy who can be impatient when things are moving too slowly. He can be pushy about reaching a decision, and he has a tendency to be a bit confrontational and impulsive. He often bends or outright breaks the rules to get things done his way, and he doesn't do well with authority of any kind. Zephyr's greatest weakness is his tendency to leap first, look second (not always literally), and his biggest fear is being trapped in one place, one body, forever. He also has mild claustrophobia (with spaces, not people), and he always gets queasy at the sight of blood or particularly gruesome injuries on others. He's fine with his own blood/injuries (usually), but seeing others hurt is another matter entirely.
Zephyr can take any animal form he desires. He does not have any specific preferences, but he does enjoy becoming different mythical creatures, like a phoenix, dragon, griffin, and the like. He also has a penchant for turning into different canine, cat, and bird of prey species. Zephyr prefers predators over prey animals, but he also knows when a swift deer or gentle rabbit are better suited to his needs, and he won't hesitate to take the form most compatible with the job at hand. Whichever form he takes — whether it has fur, feathers, or scales — he is most often varying shades of brown in color, with red undertones, markings, or accents. For more exotic creatures, however, he is red in color. His eyes turn from an array of different colors to one near-solid hue, based entirely on what animal form he takes. His cat forms, for example, have green-gold eyes, while his prey forms most often have brown eyes, and his more exotic forms have blue or grey eyes.
Zephyr's crystal is a bright turquoise, blue with streaks of green and hints of violet.
