Deryn"Dallie" Duinedubh daughter of maleficent and diaval
At her brother's antics, Dallie had to laugh. Staying behind him would boost his confidence but make him complacent while trying to win. So, she had to make sure he pushed himself. "Cheater!" She yelled as she started to run. There was no way she was going to let him off easy. TZ had to prove himself and fight for what he wanted. It's how all the Isle kids grew up, and he would be no different. At least it was her teaching him and not one of the other kids. She had learned from the others, but that's because she was the oldest. No one was around to teach her the ways of the Isle. She didn't want that for her siblings, either of them. She would always be around to protect them.
It was part of the reason that she didn't want him to have a nemesis. It sounded dangerous. How was she supposed to protect him from someone who was meant to stop him? Also, why did the kid want someone to stop him? What was the point of doing something bad solely for the purpose of another person stopping you? That seem kind of like nonsense. Then again, no one had ever hurt Doofenshmirtz enough to kill him. Maybe a nemesis wouldn't be so bad for TZ. It would mean that he had someone to care about. As far as he was describing it, it was just a weird friendship. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad for him. She could let it happen for a practice trial, then put a stop to it later if she needed to. Doofenshmirtz would have her back if she needed too, so would her mother.
"You don't know where we're going!" Dallie yelled as she slowed down her approach on Sugar Plum's Candy Shop. She had to smirk at the sight of him, probably headed for Big Fork. It was the obvious place to go in Southwark, but Sari's mom had fresh fruit and she was pretty sure that her little brother needed a little fruit in his diet. Did Montana's salsa count as a fruit intake? She would have to ask him the next time she saw him, since she was pretty sure that tomatoes were a fruit. Her mom had a great vegetable soup in her spell book, absolutely perfect for curing any flu.
Dallie leaned against the door to the sweets shop and smiled brightly, waiting for her brother to turn back around. "Get inside or I won't let Sari give you anything with too much sugar in it." Who said desert had to come after dinner? Something about going to Big Fork just gave her a bad feeling, like it was a terrible idea. She would avoid it for as long as possible, even if it meant that Hertz had just embarrassed himself and she had made it worse by being loud about it. She didn't care too much, as it was an older sister's job to embarrass their younger siblings. She tried not to as much as possible, thinking it cruel, but it wasn't always possible.

JAMES "JAMIE" HOOK son of lady caine and captain hook
"Stupid fae," Jamie said to himself on the way back to Tortuga. It was one thing to guess at people's preferences, but it was a whole other thing to talk about someone's father like that. Jamie would like to be kept out of anything Hook did, for better or worse. He wanted to stay away from anything in that general subject area. Most of the time he couldn't even handle dealing with his father's business. Whatever was going on in that broken down fish store was Hook's business.
He hadn't even gotten to see Mori, since Dallie had taken his attention and dragged him away from his goal. He was going to tell her everything he knew about the transfers, but considering she hadn't been in the area, it meant she had been in Tortuga. He wasn't dumb, that just proved that she already knew what was happening and he was too late. It's not like he knew much anyways, so there was no reason to be too hard on himself.
As he was approaching the docks, he noticed two very important details: one, his best friend was not on the boat as she would've been closer to the railings and two, a rather large group of people that he didn't recognize were making their way onto the boat. This was a rather strange sight, considering that all the kids on the Isle either knew each other or knew of each other. No one went their whole life without meeting the other crews.
So, seeing at least five people he didn't know could only mean one thing: the transfers had arrived.
This was going to be very, very good. Instead of going up the same way they did, Jamie made his way to the secondary ship that housed most of the crew members who couldn't live with their parents anymore. It was much more rundown than Salazar's ship, considering it had been crudely made by Ian, himself and a handful of other older Crew members out of spare parts they found (read: stole) from older adults in Tortuga. The frame of the ship itself was taken from Blackbeard's old ship, another price the man paid for his daughter's protection.
Once he was on board, he quickly jumped on the railings and grabbed one of the ropes to swing across to the other ship. He had gone much out of his way to avoid too much contact with the transfers, but it also made himself look really cool, and everyone knew it. Even Ian noticed, although the older man didn't notice, instead opting for an eye roll. "You know how awesome I am." He grinned, coming over to join the group, making sure to wave at Sofia and Fausto as well.
"This isn't happening." Ian shook his head, "Go check on the others." Ian gave him that look, one that meant to take what he said more seriously. Jamie figured that he wanted someone to keep the others sane while enemies were on the ship. Jamie could take the hint, so he didn't say anything more and just nodded. He didn't like the idea of leaving the two of them alone, but it meant that the younger Crew would feel more comfortable, so he wasn't going to complain at the task given to him.

Alicio Bleu Arthur Bacon Bête
son of belle and beast Alicio had been hoping to continue silently in the conversation after he introduced himself. Better to just blend into the background at this point, which Alicio was glad to see that no one was going to really debate. Or hopefully even notice. Despite that, he wasn’t going to ignore the conversation going on. Komboa brought the house issue to light, Akram was pushing that forward, and what'd ya know? They were here to offer a place anyway. Although, Alicio didn’t really like the way that no one acknowledged the payment of cost aside from Akram and that wasn’t acknowledged by these strangers. It was weird and Alicio wasn’t sure if the implication was that there was no cost for the place and that they were doing this from the goodness of their heart. Alicio tried to hide a snort as he thought about that. Billy would hate to hear that. He wasn’t exactly sure why his sister was so biased in her beliefs when Alicio hadn’t thought she’d ever given the Isle much thought in the first place anyway. It was strange as she went from “Isle kids who?” to “Isle kids are evil.” in such a short amount of time, but he hadn’t really tried to question her on it. Still, the fact they were offering this place with no extra ties involved would have Billy paranoid about their intentions rather than seeing that maybe, just maybe the transfers were here and were going to be able to bring back genuinely good kids despite the fact they grew up here. Alicio didn’t expect to take a turn for the paranoid though. Sure, the bite-bear and Farris were the ones to offer the place and offer to show them the place respectively, but it was Mair that had Alicio tensing up the most. And that was saying something given bite-bear was there.Sure, he restated the fact they had a place for them. Then, he continued with telling them that it should fit all of them… yet had the gall to ask if there were more transfers with them. It was difficult to try and prevent a squinted glare at the man, so Alicio didn’t entirely bother. It should have been clear enough that Alicio wasn’t in a happy mood that a small glare would really mean anything. So, Alicio bit out a response before anyone else. “There’s more of us.” Ugh, there was probably too much not-niceness in that. Alicio took in a breath and continued, “We’re only one third of the group.” If they even taught math here, it should give a pretty clear idea of the size of the group anyway. “Still think you’ll have enough room?”
Alicio wasn’t expecting the palest among them to treat it as though Alicio hadn’t just had an attitude. Farris simply nodded with a smile, responding instead, “Sure it will. Might be a bit cramped but it should work. Well, cramped and ‘run down’ like Mair was saying. Here, I’ll lead!” The guy spoke before starting off in the direction this open home for them was going to be. Alicio hesitantly looked to the rest of the group and then looked to where Farris was walking. Then, Alicio started following.

Dinner Party Collie, Homie, Maggie, Akram, Kassi
So, after dying inwardly for the past several hours, here they were.
Collie wasn't sure if she wanted to scream angrily, or just sort of...throw up. Both were unacceptable, at the moment, because screaming would probably alarm her capos further, while she didn't want the transfers to see a puddle of vomit on the floor, either. That might send off the wrong sort of message, after all, and she didn't want that.
Not that she was even vaguely aware of what sort of message her mafia should be sending, anyway.
Taking a sip of her drink and waiting for the transfers to arrive, the boss went over her thoughts, scowling slightly more than usual in the process. She'd met some of the transfers last night: Billy, Raf, Kassi, and that little one -- Shimmy. It had been...not as disastrous as she'd first imagined, even if she hadn't been in any sort of mood to really meet a bunch of foreign, generally hostile strangers last night. But she supposed it'd been useful enough, in it's own way.
Tonight, the blonde was more put together, mentally, and hoped that it was enough to face the oncoming hordes of children, as there were inevitably more. "So, when do you guys think they'll even show up?" The question didn't have much of a purpose, not really. Just idly trying to muffle the silence that was suffocating the group, she felt. Big Fork had been mostly closed down for the night, to avoid any distractions, interruptions...attempted assassinations...that sort of thing. Best to just keep the crowd small, the mafia's administration, the Big Fork staff, and the transfers. That was it, that was all it needed to be at the moment."Hopefully before you finish that drink," On edge herself, Homie sort of wished she'd thought about pre-gaming for this train wreck in the making. Maybe it wasn't the best idea, having alcohol before a tense meeting with possibly hostile strangers, but honestly, the cowgirl couldn't even blame her boss. She got it. Besides, Collie seemed sober enough at the moment, as long as she kept it chill and together, and didn't drink too much, it should be fine. "Thanks for bringing us some, by the way." She winked at her boss, just kidding, and the blonde rolled her eyes and shot her the bird. For someone who owned a literal night club (and in her humble opinion, the best club on the Isle), she didn't drink all that much, and Collie knew that. Don't drink the merchandise, because that led to stealing from yourself.
And technically, she could drink at one of the "adult-run" bars, sure, but the Dancefloor was the best, and she wasn't stooping to that lower level of establishment.
"...do they even know where Big Fork is?" This was another general question to the room, because Homie wasn't sure. She was positive that the transfers could read, because she assumed rich kid, fancy pants rich kid school taught you that. But could they navigate the Isle? Could they remember how to get to Southwark? Were they even going to actually show up? Homie halfway couldn't blame them if they decided not to show. After all, even though this wasn't a trap, it reeked of trap potential. - - - - - -"Aye, where even is the damn bit? Did they tell ye or are they jus' taking us for a birl here?" Maggie wasn't sure what to think about the invitation to dinner at all. It was a little sketchy and suspect, at least she thought, to invite them and then bugger off into the night like some sort of ghost. At least give them some directions, damn. If it was some sort of attack, she was sort of ready, she guessed. In the name of not scaring the locals, she didn't bring her sword, but if this was an ambush, she could still knock a bastard in the mouth for daring. Although it might not be an attack, necessarily? Maybe they just wanted to play a prank on the transfers, having them wander stupidly around the Isle for a few hours in search of this eating place? "Did those other ones give you any directions, guys?" The others had encountered locals yesterday as well, and she felt it was worth asking the rest of them if they knew where they were going at all, because Maggie and her little crew sure as hell didn't.
"Not to us, no." Akram admitted, shrugging lightly. Was he perturbed about this whole mix-up? Maybe a little wary, but he didn't think there was any foul play here. Sure, the Isle kids might have grown up in a hostile, maybe nasty-spirited environment, but they didn't seem particularly rude yesterday. "But we met the people in Tortuga, yesterday, when they led us to the house. This is in Southwark, right?" The prince was still learning about the Isle, but from what he knew, the Isle of the Lost was divided into four neighborhoods -- Tortuga at the docks, Buchannan and Southwark further into town, and then the Outlands, way out of the reach of town. "Does any of this look familiar to you guys?" He looked towards the group that had been given a slightly more extensive tour of the Isle yesterday, by that one shady fellow, and brought to meet with the town leaders.
"I don't recognize anything, but it looks a little different later in the day." Kassi added helpfully, a small frown as she studied her surroundings. By the time they'd gotten to Southwark yesterday, it'd been late afternoon. This was closer to evening, to dinner time. So the shadows and stuff made everything look a lot more different than she remembered. "What about the rest of you guys?" There was still a chance that maybe Billy, Raf, or Shimmy remembered something. She'd been a little more caught up, yesterday, with looking at everything during their tour, and it had all been a bit too overwhelming to actually catch up and locate landmarks, for her.

Big Fork, Southwark Cliff, Montana, Sari, Aria, Eddie and Raf
Montana couldn't let out a scream so close to the transfer's showing up, so instead he set down a box of unnecessary things anyone could take to break. He immediately picked up a can and started crushing it, trying to make it as small as possible. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sari and Aria share a look, but he didn't care enough to actually stop them from whatever thoughts they were sharing with their expressions. Instead, he just set down the now crushed can and went to find Collie. The two started whispering to each other as he left the kitchen, but he couldn't bring himself to yell at them about it. He had been yelling at them all day, there was no need to continue that cycle. "I think I saw one running around yesterday," Cliff commented as he made his way over to his sister, after grabbing his own drink. His was just juice, but that's because the way he acted with alcohol was not something he wanted to show the transfers. Mostly just for the first meeting. He didn't want to mess anything up between the two groups. Tonight would be tense enough. No need to scare the Hero children. "It's possible he noticed the restaurant." Cliff wasn't sure, however, and that made him nervous. Having any of the new kids lost was a terrible idea. What if they ran into the adults? None of them would hesitate to cause a war. The younger cowboy moved some of the dishes around on the table Cliff was sitting at, and the De Vil was pleased to note that Montana had started humming as he worked. Letting his anger out on inanimate objects worked fairly well. There was nothing to do now, everything was handled. The Auradon kids would judge him, positive or negative, it didn't really matter. In all honesty, he needed to make an apology meal for his siblings and employees. They all had done such an amazing job, between dealing with his stress and getting everything ready. "I'm sure they'll be here soon. It's not that hard to spot between the other buildings." After all, he hadn't spent four months collecting enough supplies to put up a giant wooden fork on the roof for nothing. It was a statement piece. From what Aria said of their expenses, it hadn't been worth it. From the praise Montana gave himself, it had totally been worth it.
Aria and Sari came out in handmade aprons with trays resting on their hips, smiling at each other as they talked. Aria raised an eyebrow at the group, questioning, "Why on earth are you all just sitting around? We did not work all day for no one to actually party." She gave Cliff a raised eyebrow and he crossed his heart. It wasn't exactly a secret that Cliff was an absolute flirt when he had some harder drinks, so she was pleased at his response against it. Still, the others could certainly drink. As for the pink-haired fairy, she was just happy to be involved. She broke off from Aria's side to give Collie a sweet candy and a small smile, but didn't stay. If the boss didn't want it, she wouldn't stick around to watch. Instead, she stopped near Montana and gave him a reassuring shoulder-touch. The younger man flashed her a smile and asked, "The oven's off, right?" She laughed in response, looking to Aria who just rolled her eyes. "Okay, okay. I'm calm. I'm super chill."
Eddie and Raf were walking side-by-side, sharing a rather suspicious bottle of liquid. As the only legal adults on the trip, the young prince had made sure they would have adequate supplies for any parties. Raf had made sure to offer the others whatever they needed without alerting Eddie or Billie. He wasn't sure about the others being snitches, but his friend wasn't to be trusted until he had been drinking himself. Eddie wasn't only fun with a little bit in him, but he was more fun. It was a simple balance, really. Responsibility went down at the same level the drink out went up.
At the sound of everyone's questions, Eddie perked up, "The building with the giant fork on it!" That had to be it! There was no other explanation for the giant wooden fork on top of a building. Absolutely none. Eddie refused to believe he was wrong, so he shot past the others in the direction that he remembered the giant fork being in. Even though he had been late to the meeting of the leaders, he had scouted the general areas. At least his little tour around the Isle had been useful, if it meant he got to lead them to their dinner.
It would be awful to show up late due to a lack of directions. They were all just kids, here. "It's not like they are used to having give directions. The Isle wasn't that big, and these people have lived here their entire lives." He felt defensive over these villain children, since none of the teenagers with him were thinking in the Isle's context. Eddie wasn't talking too loudly when he said this, and he had run off, so he hoped that no one heard him. There was no need to cause a fight now. It was a night for a party, after all. The young man turned to look at everyone behind him and laughed when he saw Raf running towards him.
"Do not run off with my bottle!" The darker man growled as he came up to his friend's side, snatching said object away. Eddie was still smiling though, so Raf couldn't be too angry with him. "Now, where's this fork building?" Raf wasn't sure of it's existence until he followed Eddie's pointed hand down the street. Okay, yeah. Building with a giant fork on top of it. The prince wasn't going to admit that any of them were wrong for any reason at all, but this was rather obvious. No wonder they hadn't thought to give directions. It was right there, between the school and what looked to be a farm. "Aw, Eddie, if you get homesick, I'm sure they'll let you get back to your roots for some free labor." He punched his friend's arm, who only retaliated by stealing the bottle back.

Dinner Party Pip, Kenny, Clara, Komboa, Hana, Shimmy
It was almost time for the transfers to arrive and Kenny felt nervous energy coursing through his veins. His fingers twitched and he let out a small sigh, needing to keep busy. He'd finished whatever he had been doing already, but he pushed through the crowd until he found his identical triplet. "Montana! Is there anything else you need done? I'm free," he said. He wanted to lend his hand to his brother, but he also just wanted to be doing something.
Clara had been wandering the restaurant to make sure everything was kept in order. She had a fear that Montana might actually explode if tonight crashed and burned, and she did not wanna be cleaning up after that. She had burned her hand decently earlier and currently had it wrapped up, but she wasn't letting that hold her back from trying to help. Finally finding a free moment, she went to track down her older sister. "Collie!" she said. She wanted to keep an eye on both Collie and Montana tonight. She wouldn't overstep either of them, but her own stress was at an all time high between getting ready for the transfers and making sure her sister and boyfriend were doing okay.
She would definitely have to do something for Montana after this was all over. He needed a break. Maybe she could see if she could scrape up the ingredients needed to bake him something. Cookies or a cake. Or maybe just get him a day off to go on a trail ride or have a little picnic or something.
Collie too, but Clara would need to slowly chip away at that at home. It was hard enough to get her sister to eat.
Pip was leaning up against a wall with a half empty drink in her hand. She was going to drink tonight, but she wasn't going to drink too much. She had to stay vigilant. She didn't trust these transfers yet, and she wanted to be ready if anything happened. She had a knife concealed on her, but her first choice was to use her fists.
***
Komboa was nervous. If the young lion thought he was nervous on the ship, or when he had began leading his group, that was nothing. This was the real deal. This was major. He was pretty sure he was shaking and his forehead was slick with sweat and he had already tripped over his own feet a whopping 13 times. He missed the catlike grace that he had back home in the Pridelands. After another little trip, he fixed his glasses and scampered up to walk near Maggie. Maggie and Billy seemed to know what they were doing as leaders, so he was gonna try to stick beside them. For all he knew, they could be walking into an ambush. This could be the night he died and he never would have been able to say good bye to any of his friends or family. He just walked beside Maggie, wanting to make conversation with his fellow leader, but not knowing what to talk about.
Hana, on the other hand, was excited. She was trying to keep Shimmy calm. Having grown up with the caramel apple boy, she knew exactly what it took to keep him from fighting people. She rested a hand on his arm as he grinned and rushed towards the building that had been pointed out. "Woah, woah, woah! Calm down there, Shim," she said with a small laugh. He responded well, slowing down to keep at her side.
She really was the Shim Whisperer.

Mix - Dinner Party
isabeau, billy, alicio, silver Isabeau would have found it ever so slightly amusing that no one had entirely thought to give the transfers the directions to the Big Fork had it not been for the stress coming from the lack of forethought from everyone present. Isabeau was fairly certain that’s why she chose to hang by the doorway, leaning against the open doorway, helping to keep the door propped open. She was keeping her eyes focused outside for a group of people that didn’t look like they fit in while listening to everyone inside talk. In the case they happened to pass by or appeared, someone would at least be there to direct them inside. Plus, doing this was slightly easier than letting herself get caught up in all the nerves going on inside. She had to wonder whether or not the transfers were as nervous as they were. It would make sense if they were by all accounts, albeit for completely different reasons she’d assume. Not like it mattered all in all. Putting together any amount of nervous people felt like a recipe for disaster. Which is why Isabeau was doing her darndest to stay as not-nervous as possible, because the less nerves floating about the better. Despite that, she couldn’t help but a sigh of relief as she noticed a crowd of kids in the distance wandering about, no doubt their dinner guests for the night. Turning towards the indoor half of her position, she called out to anyone and everyone in there, “They’re as good as here.” Sure, it’d take a matter of seconds for them to reach the building, but they were effectively heading towards them and everyone probably needed a heads up on that anyhow. Turning back towards the outdoor half and making more of a movement outside, she waved her arm into the air in order to just help garner the attention of the kids and direct them over with a smile on her face.
--- “It’s gonna be fine,” Alicio attempted to reassure her. Unfortunately, Billy was not that reassured. It was stupid and unreasonable to be so jittery over this entire mess, as Alicio had pointed out multiple times now, but Billy didn’t like this entire thing. No, Billy didn’t like a lot of things. Like the fact that while Billy and her group were going around meeting leaders, it just so happened that the crew had offered a home and the mafia had invited them to dinner the day after. It was- It was weird and suspicious and she didn’t trust it. It was so strange and too convenient for Billy to just accept this as coming from the goodness of their hearts. Unfortunately, her brother shared the opposite sentiment. Billy couldn’t really fathom that, but Alicio kept trying to argue that it was fine and they were genuinely trying to be helpful. “Really, Billy. It’s just a dinner party from what we’ve heard, and despite the countless things that could go wrong, the likelihood of any of that happening is small. It would be dumb or stupid for them to attack us in any way, right?”Billy hummed in agreement. The only thing they had going for them was the communication there. If the group stopped staying in contact with Alexander and the rest of Auradon, then there would be alarms raised and things would go according to Beat’s hopes and goals for the trip. Depending on whether or not the people here were even vaguely aware of that was a different matter though. Though, she supposed reasonably, from what she had seen of the few people she met yesterday, they weren’t that stupid. “You’re right,” Billy admitted quietly. She didn’t really appreciate his little grin and playful shoulder bump, but it was difficult to be genuinely upset with him over that. She gave him a little smile in return though. Alicio had helped her feel slightly better about the whole thing for the day. She turned her attention slightly more towards everyone in front of her. Which was well, everyone. Except her brother who was standing next to her instead, both at the back of the group since Billy at least felt more secure talking about this without anyone obviously looking. She’d rather not have a whole bunch of people knowing that she had been freaking out about it. It luckily seemed to work given the conversation going on, no one really focused on Billy and Alicio. But now, Billy could at least focus on them and what was going on. It seemed as though they had found the building they were looking for. She probably should have been stressing about the fact they had been wandering aimlessly for a bit now in search of the building instead of stressing about the reasoning behind why. Now she didn’t even have the time to stress about where the building was and the implications of being late to such a- a gracious invitation. That sorta sucked. Billy had more panic that she needed out of her system than this would now allow. No matter how counterproductive that sounded. Instead, she supposed she had to take in a deep breath and continue to follow the group as they moved forward towards the Big Fork. She was mentally re-accounting where everyone was. Maggie and Komboa seemed to be walking together now, Eddie and Raf were together doing something that Billy was almost certain she’d rather not know about, Hana pulling Shimmy back (and for once, Billy was mentally thanking the girl over that), and Silver was seemingly laughing at the little action, off to the side of the group, as well as the others scattered about. Billy was a little surprised at the smile that quirked at her mouth as Alicio nudged her reassuringly. Maybe this wouldn’t go as bad as she was expecting.

EMMETT FLETCHER GRIMHILDE son of the evil queen and the magic mirror
Once in a blue moon, Emmett was excited to come home after a long day out. Usually there was some fear that his mother would be around, or that something bad had happened earlier that day. Growing up, he had become used to the crazy things that happened on the Isle. Tonight's dinner was different, though. It was special, and that meant nothing from the day would ruin it. He had already had a good day, making sure to keep his attitude positive above all else. Nothing else mattered.
This was family dinner.
He loved his family, he really did. His elder siblings were the best. He didn't care what his friends said, it was nonsense. Del was a literal blessing, considering how much she put up with all of the boys, himself included. They were all messes. She was probably the entire reason they actually had everything together. She was like glue within the family.
His brothers were great too! No one should get that wrong. He loved them to pieces. Between Ernie and Ebby, he had the perfect examples on how to be a good person. They had their faults, sure, but that just made them more perfect. No one was flawless. Actually, Ebby might be flawless. He had taken to giving him clothes. Not everything, of course, but a decent amount without getting angry about it.
Yeah, okay, Ebby was perfect.
Emmett whistled lowly, as he walked into the house. Tater Tot followed without a sound, and skittered off towards his master's room, probably to roll in the blankets and hide. The young boy stretched his arms out wide while he made his way to the kitchen. He was smiling lowly and asked, "Have you guys already started or did I make it in time?" For the record, he didn't know if anyone was actually in the kitchen but he trusted his instincts.

Erchanhardt Hobart Grimhilde Son of the Evil Queen & Huntsman
Ernie was standing in the kitchen, hands on his hips as he looked out over the rather bare selection of food. Food wasn't something that was plentiful on the Isle, but he and his siblings made it work. They always did, especially when it came to family dinners like this. He was grateful to have the family he did. Mom? Maybe not so much. But Del and Ebby and Hardy and Emmett were his best friends in the entire world. And that was a high honor, since he wanted to befriend everyone he met.
Hearing his youngest brother's voice ring out in the house, Ernie grinned and popped his head out of the kitchen to see Emmett. "Getting into much trouble? And don't worry. You're perfectly on time. Wouldn't start with a Grimhilde missing," he assured his brother, stepping fully out. He had on his own cooking apron. It was one that he had made himself, though he did have a surprise for tonight. While he wasn't good at sewing and stuff, he had found large pieces of fabric that took just a little cutting and gluing and folding to make aprons for his siblings. That would come out when he had everyone gathered in the kitchen, but before they began cooking.
"I'm gonna grab Hardy," he said to Emmett, before turning quick and heading to the next oldest Grimhilde's bedroom.
The room was even more sparsely furnished than most, with only a bed, desk, and many intricate drawings lining the walls. Not drawings of people or animals or landscape, but of carefully thought out mazes and a large labyrinth. "Hardy! We're gonna be making dinner soon, why don't you come help?"
"Not right now," Hardy said. He absently shooed his oldest brother away, his pencil continuing to move rapidly across the paper. "I'm busy, Ernie."
"Come on, Hardy. We need the entire family," he said. He knew that Hardy enjoyed this as much as the rest of them, he just didn't like to leave his little bedroom. His dark little cave, where he was the mastermind behind the Isle's greatest puzzles. Did you want to set up a scavenger hunt to ask a girl out? Hardy has your back. Did you have nothing to do and decide a maze would be a good little exercise? Just give the Grimhilde boy a shout. As impressed as Ernie was with his work, he moved forward and grabbed Hardy's arm gently.
"Noooooooooo," Hardy muttered, though his argument was weak and he didn't put up an actual fight as he let Ernie pull him to his feet. "My baby." He made a reaching motion to the half drawn maze on his desk, but he was coming willingly when they got out of his bedroom. "Why do you have to be so early to everything?" he muttered, taking the lead back to the kitchen.
"Emmett is there too! It's not like I'm making you camp out in the kitchen for an hour before dinner," Ernie said, jumping to his own defense. The two Grimhilde boys arrived back to the kitchen.
"Yo," Hardy said in greeting to Emmett.
"Once Ebby and Del come into the kitchen, we can begin," he stated, as if it were some dark ceremony they were performing.

Edelweiss "Del" Hilda Grimhilde daughter of the Evil Queen and the Huntsman
"So what are we making tonight, anyway?" As a family of five, should they plan their meals out ahead of time? Probably, Del wasn't going to lie. It would streamline things and make it more predictable, that much she knew. But that would take the fun out of debating what they could make with what they had in the cupboards, and that was lame. As much as the oldest (and only) Grimhilde girl liked things being in place and in order, this was one of the few bits of chaos she liked in her life.
A can of green beans past its "best by" date, half a bag of slightly soft carrots, canned chicken. Tomato sauce, but no paste, the can dented almost in half. Some rice? That was rice, yeah.
Del loved depending on garbage to survive. It gave them so many options.
"One of us needs to stop by the docks for stuff tomorrow." This was added a little more seriously, and she frowned at the can of tomato sauce. This was the kind of uncertainty she wasn't here for, by the way, and it inadvertently turned her mind back to her conversation with Fern and the cephalocousins. As much as she wanted to keep her head up, and her pride made her want to show the transfers they were fine, part of her wanted them to see this struggle, and the inhumane conditions they'd been kept under.
Part of her wondered if they would have their own fancy, fresh Auradon food, and if they should steal it. If they did, the transfers shouldn't fault them. If you brought fresh food to the Isle and didn't share, you were asking to get robbed anyway. But would they be eating garbage too? Del doubted it. She didn't know why they were here, but it wasn't to try the local cuisine, she knew for sure.

Fern Alana Facilier Daughter of Facilier and Ayizan
Fern's mind was still racing as she headed back towards the Slim ranch. She had stayed at the Coven's clubhouse late last night and had gone straight to bed. She'd spent all day today out and about, trying to think of the best way to go about this. Her conversation with Del, Mori, and Tait has been useful, but she was still terrified about when she was going to have to welcome the Witch School kids into the Coven's way of life.
Her shoulders slumped as she pushed open the door, hoping she could talk to Junior tonight. He was always good at talking sense into her and getting her to chill out, something that had got her interested in Yeehaw Boy in the first place. She worried and stressed about way too much and he had a much more level head on his shoulders.
Plus, she hadn't slept like at all the night before, and she knew that if she went another night with zero sleep, Mama Fern would become Mama Bear Fern and that was not something she wanted to expose her loved ones too. She wasn't mean when she was tired, but she certainly wasn't her usual graceful self.
"Fern's home!" Monty called out, running to hug his older sister. Fern was too close in age to Fausto to have truly been a parent to him, even though she had tried, but she was old enough to be able to at least be somewhat of a mom to Monty. "I wanna tell you all about my day!" he said.
Fern laughed, trying to hide any signs of stress from her baby brother. "Did you clean your room?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Monty frowned, his eyes falling to his shoes - an obvious answer.
"Alright, why don't you go do that and then you can tell me about your day?" she asked. Of course, it was almost bedtime for the young boy, but she could let him stay up a little longer since she had been so sucky the last couple days. Monty ran off and Fern watched him go before sighing and walking deeper into the house. "Junior? You home?" she asked, calling out for him.

Katherine "Junior" Colorado Facilier, Jr. son of Alameda Slim and Katherine Barlow
Junior's presence in the house was confirmed when there was a loud, rhythmic thumping from somewhere further in the house. If Cornbread was around, so was Junior. Despite having no magic, and therefore no familiar, Cornbread stuck to his owner's heels like white on rice, and that much was a fact.
That being said, Cornbread was also excited to see Fern, and with his tail drumming on everything from here to Fern, the mutt made his journey to greet her.
Junior himself followed shortly, a couple of baby chickens nestled in the crook of one arm, cheeping softly. The cowman greeted his wife with a hug with his free arm, pulling her close for a moment before leaning back and showing her the babies.
"I'm here, I'm here, Fern." She looked stressed, so Junior did what any husband worth his salt should do, and tried to destress her. Fern was an angel and a saint, and never let it be known that anyone had upset or worried her. But that wasn't fair to her, so he had to ask. "How was work today, darlin'? You look wound up." He made sure she knew she should talk about her day without demanding it, because that wouldn't be very nice, and then showed her the baby chickens. "Lottie's eggs hatched today, aren't they cute?" Junior was under the impression that baby animals made everyone feel better, and that was a fact.

Shiloh Benton Jack Son of ShiverJack & Beatrice Le Beak
Shiloh was so upset about running into Shamakani and her followers the day before that he had considered going home. Like home home. Back to his parents, even if he hated it there and Jace and Nanji were more of parents than his own parents had ever been. Maybe Shamakani was right. After all, he was just a human. He couldn't compare with the lions and wolves and panthers and whatever else was out here inhabiting the territory.
He sighed and watched the ground, his eyebrows scrunching together as he tried not to cry. He had to be strong. Even Jace and Nanji were trying to teach him to be strong. It wasn't strong to cry! Wiping his eyes, Shiloh found that he was unconsciously wandering towards where he could find his two favorite people.
"Nanji? Jace?" he called out. His voice was trembling slightly, but he coughed a bit and tried again. "Nanji?" he called out, slightly satisfied to hear that his voice didn't tremble that time.

Fern Alana Facilier Daughter of Facilier and Ayizan
Fern heard Cornbread and knew her husband would be by shortly as she bent down to rub the dog. "Hi, buddy. How are you? Who's a good boy? Cornbread is!" Fern spoke with her baby voice that was appropriate for any animal or baby that she came in contact with. She loved Cornbread. She couldn't say she loved him as much as Junior since Junior and his dog had such a close bond, but she loved him just as much as she possibly could. When she heard Junior coming, she stood up to accept his one armed hug.
"I just don't know what to do about this transfer situation..." she admitted. She wouldn't admit how terrified and stressed she was to anyone in the coven, even Del or Mori or Tait, but she could show Junior. She didn't have to be as strong when it came to him. Of course, that didn't mean she was weak with him either.
She smiled slightly at the sight of the baby birds. How many girls got to come home to see their husband literally carrying baby animals around. "Baby chickens are a good start to cheering me up," she teased. And why not tease a little bit? She knew there was more animals and she knew Junior wouldn't hate having an opportunity to show off his animals.
She knew she could talk about what happened with the transfers and how she felt, and she might do that later. But she wanted to start by surrounding herself with animals - baby and adult - and spending time with Junior. She'd have time tonight to think through this transfer situation and share with him. Monty was busy cleaning his room.
It was animal time.

Simisola "Sola" Namiri daughter of sabor and nuru
As the only sane semi-leader of the Outsiders, Sola’s main mood and over all vibe was tired. She was usually tired of the drama, of course. Nanji was her older brother and his usual course of action was just fighting with the main leader the entire day, every single day of the year. Today was different, though. Surprisingly, the drama had nothing to do with her brother’s weird idea of flirting. It was about those awful lions who insisted on being speciesist.
Sola idly wondered if speciesist was a real word or not.
Either way, if it was a real or fake word, they had upset a child. Not even someone who was a teenager. Shiloh was a literal child. Over literally nothing. So what if the kid wasn’t an animal? Some of them were only half animal, and most of the Isle population was human. If Sola saw Shamakani or the others today, she would blow a gasket. The human boy wasn’t looking for her, but she was there and she could see him wipe the tears away.
“Hey Shy,” Sola smiled warmly as she waved, shoving her anger at the lions away. His voice was rough, which helped her determined the kind of trash the lions had put him through. Lekan was getting punched in the throat. Shaka, in the eye. She’d aim straight for the mouth on Mico. Okay, so maybe her anger hadn’t been fully diminished. She was a feline, anger was a given. Sola looked at her brother, but her expression turned pained. She hated the sight of the child so upset.

Katherine "Junior" Colorado Facilier, Jr. son of Alameda Slim and Katherine Barlow
Who was a good boy? Cornbread knew it was him, and while Fern petted and scratched him, his entire butt wagged and he fixed her with a happy dog grin. He loved his human family. Junior and Fern had saved him after he was unceremoniously dumped onto the Isle, not that he understood why, since he was a dog, and it had taken him a while to realize they, too, would not dump him onto another island. Junior napped with him out in the barn, Fern petted him and said he was a good boy, and Monty fed him from the table. Not to mention the triplets and California, who were also real good to him. Good humans. Very good humans.
Cornbread did a little shuffly foot dance when Junior caught up to he and Fern.
Meanwhile, Junior listened to his wife's problems, a tiny frown on his face when he puzzled over her dilemma. "Just a start, huh? Well why don't we go out here and see how Lester and his family's doin'?" He had been about to leave and help Montana at the Fork, but Fern was upset. He could run a little late, he was sure. His brothers and sister would understand, they got stress. And they knew how high strung his wife could get from events like this, too.
Putting the chicks into Fern's arms now, he led her outside to the barn, Cornbread of course tagging onto his heels.
"Evenin', Lester." While Junior was fully aware that pigs could not talk, he liked to think the squeal from the potbellied pig was a greeting of his own. Leaning into the pen to scratch the pig's back, he finally addressed his wife's other problem, in that slow, laid back way of his.
Fern was a strong, capable leader. Some people might think she was weak because she wasn't quite as belligerent as the others, but she just really cared about folks, and did her best to do right by them. Transfers included, apparently.
Junior wasn't sure what he thought of them, just yet. It definitely wasn't a good feeling, but it wasn't hate, either. Just...not good.
Hmm...he'd have to think more on that later, wouldn't he?
"What happens if ya don't do anything?" He started, then, glancing up at Fern. "Play it by ear, and just stay watchful. I'm sure the other two in town are already gearing up an interrogation, so we'll know before long what their intentions are." He had nothing but cautious respect for Ian and Collie. Jace, too, but he wasn't too sure where the ferals currently stood on international events. They all sort of hid out there in the quiet Outlands, removed from society and whatnot. He could count on the fact that Montana was in the Fork right now, making dinner for the little varmints, to know that Collie had already cooked up a plan. And he could count on Ian just...knowing what to do in this sort of situation, taking charge. He sincerely didn't know who even led the ferals right now, much less if they knew about the intruders. "You just do what you do best, and make sure they know we're good people out here. You're the perfect person for that, y'know?" What the other three leaders had in ferocity, Fern had in kindness, and honestly, that's all she really needed. His wife didn't need to bully people into submission, they just genuinely loved her. "I'm sure if you go ahead and try to reach out to 'em, you'll be pals in no time, knowing you." He'd admit to anyone who cared to listen to him ramble on about Fern, which was very few people, that she was one of the biggest rays of sunshine in his life. If anyone could prove that they deserved to be saved, Fern was one of them, if not the best choice, in his opinion.

Fern Alana Facilier Daughter of Facilier and Ayizan
Fern hadn't really had animals around when she was growing up, besides familiars, but she was so glad that she got to live on the Slim ranch and be surrounded by animals every single day. Plus, she was pretty sure that Cornbread was the cutest dog on the Isle. Probably even on Auradon. He had a face that even an animal hater would love. Possibly. Did animal haters even have hearts?
She wasn't sure and she didn't know any to ask.
"Just a start," Fern said. She knew that would only cause him to bring her to more animals, and that wasn't a bad thing. Every single animal here deserved attention, and Fern wanted to pet them all. She grateful accepted the chicks, holding them carefully. She kinda sucked at farm chores in general, but she liked to think she was better with the animals than the other stuff.
She followed him out to the barn. It was funny, the coven leader decided, how awkward she had been the first time she had entered the barn. Junior had grown up in this and new his way around the farm life because it was all he had ever known. The same went for his little siblings. Even Monty! He hadn't been a farm kid since he was a baby, but he was only a child and Fern had been close to Junior for a while. She was the only one that didn't get exposed to this stuff from a young age. But now she entered the building like it was her second home and she wasn't caught off guard by things like the smell or the little bits of hay floating through the air.
"How's my favorite piggy?" Fern asked, reverting back to the same voice she had used when talking to Cornbread. "You're a very good boy too, Lester. I'm sure Cornbread is willing to share the title." And that's why she couldn't crown any of the animals as the goodest boy. They were all the goodest boys.
When Junior spoke again, Fern took a seat on a hay bale gently petted one of the chicks that she held. The smile on her face had faded a bit as she took his words in. He was smart, even if he wasn't as eager to take the spotlight as many people were. She did smile a bit at the end, feeling a bit warmer at the thought of him pushing her kindness forward as a strength. She did feel a bit behind with Collie and Ian likely already having plans, but she always seemed to work differently from the other two leaders.
"I want to become friends with them and accept them into the coven. I mean, they're just kids, Junior. It's like the triplets and California being sent away to some prison somewhere. It feels unfair to immediately think the worst of them. But at the same time, I'm afraid of them. I mean, Beast locked us up here to suffer for years, and now these kids are being sent over with no warning. I don't know what to expect from them, and I'm afraid of bringing them into the coven and letting one of my own people get hurt. I want to help them and take them in. You can't tell me that these literal teenagers aren't even slightly afraid of being cut off from Auradon and sent to live on an island of villains. But at the same time, I don't think I could ever forgive myself if one of the coven kids gets hurt." A lot of kids on the Isle didn't have the best parents and faced more issues than they should at their age. Fern wanted to make the coven a safe place where they could feel appreciated and loved and safe. She wanted to do the same for the transfers, but she just feared any negative consequences from it.
She sighed, leaning back and looking up at the ceiling. Why did she ever think she was cut out to be a leader? Did Collie and Ian and Jace ever doubt themselves or second guess their decisions. "I mean, I've already decided that I'm not turning these kids away. I'm not icing them out. They deserve to be safe and happy. They aren't the enemy - their king is. But I just need to figure out how to make them feel accepted without putting my own people in danger."
The coven was her family just as much as Fausto and Monty and Junior and Montana and Homie and Kenny and California and Cornbread and Lester.

Moriena “Mori” Blackbeard daughter of morgana and captain blackbeard
For the second day in a row, Mori found herself seeking out Griffin. She might've felt a little bad about it, but all of the transfers were in Southwark. She couldn't exactly keep an eye on them there. In general, she tried her best to stay away from the Mafia. So long as the transfers were there and not in her territory, she could do whatever she pleased. This meant she was going to talk to Griffin about everything.
She didn't want to spy on the Crew, but she wanted his advice on the Coven's plan. She had been the one to say that they needed to watch over the Auradon children. Even if Fern believed in her, she wasn't so sure that she believed in herself. Griffin would tell it to her straight, though, and hopefully have some idea on how to make her plan go off without a hitch. After all, she didn't think that the Auradon children would just be okay with a bunch of witches obviously stalking them. It would get creepy.
Mori didn't do creepy. That was usually Fausto's thing, and he wasn't in the Coven.
As Fern's brother, Mori never understood why that was. Except for the whole Collie thing, but even then it's not like those allegiances just went away. Fern didn't mind her obvious soft spot for the Crew members. She also gave them insider information, but that was neither here nor there. There was no way that Fausto hadn't slipped sensitive information when he wasn't paying attention. Or when he was. Kid was pretty chaotic.
Still, she had nothing stopping her from walking up the hole-ridden board onto the ship. She even waved at Tana, but bypassed the girl while pretending not to see Jamie. It was still a little awkward between the two of them, even after so much time. Ian was no where to be found, though, which she was a little grateful for. Mori didn't want to be questioned on Fern's plan by him. Instead, the young girl made her way to Griffin with a smile, "Hey, do you wanna go steal some food from my aunt?" It wasn't necessarily stealing, since Mori didn't get the same treatment as others thieving from Ursula, but it wasn't exactly allowed.

Charleston Finley Cat Son of Cheshire Cat and Felicia
Chase was a cat. A tricky cat that liked to mess around with others. It was fun, and he was harmless.
Most of the time.
But Sofia got on his back whenever he caused harm, so now he didn't. Well, sometimes. He caused less harm than he used to. Unless it was for the good of society... Such as stealing food from the adults for him and Sofia and Concord, or even giving it to Ebby. After all, the Grimhilde boy had more people in his family than Chase did. Plus, he liked Ebby. He was extremely boring to scam or prank, but he wasn't a bad a guy.
If he was a bad guy, Chase would've chased him off. He'd almost perfected his angry cat hiss at this point and hopefully that would be enough to scare Ebby... Although he didn't need to scare Ebby.
Chase was currently tossing a can of... something from hand to hand. The label had been torn off, but he had to assume it was food. And unopened. He was heading towards the Grimhilde house now, hoping to share his mystery can with Ebby.
Reaching the Grimhilde house, Chase began looking into the windows to see if Ebby was home before he went inside. When he reached a window that gave him a view of the kitchen, he saw that multiple siblings had gathered there.
Well, he couldn't intrude in that.
Shoulders slumping, Chase turned away from the Grimhilde house.
He saw Ebby as an older brother, and an older brother was cool. Sofia and Concord were siblings and Chase appreciated them, but neither of them was an older brother, and that's what he saw in Ebby. But Ebby had two younger brothers already and Chase couldn't intrude on it when he was doing stuff with Emmett and Hardy.
Tossing his can from hand to hand, Chase headed back in the direction of the Crew's territory. He was a pirate cat through and through, and hadn't wanted to leave even when Sofia was showing interest in the coven. He was just glad she had stayed. He didn't want to be without his older sister.

Katherine "Junior" Colorado Facilier, Jr. son of Alameda Slim and Katherine Barlow
Junior took her words in, frowning as Lester made happy pig grunts. "D'you actually think they can hurt us, though?" The cowboy wasn't actually very sure about their want to hurt them. They were disgusting, cruel humans and animals, in Auradon, sure. He could get behind that, considering they'd grown up starving, abused, and eating garbage. But the people in Auradon had always been faceless enemies. They made their lives miserable in a passive, offhand sort of way. It seemed out of character, now, for them to just...come in here and off them. "Well, obviously, I reckon they can, and always could..." He amended, after thinking about it. "But my point is, why would they do that now?" It seemed like a strange, unprecedented turn of motive, and one that didn't have much value to Auradon royalty as a whole, either.
"Besides..." Junior added, after he let his original point sink in. "It's a safe bet, I'd think, that their magic and whatever is blocked here too. Unless they came here armed, I'd think we'd have the home advantage if it came down to a scrap." At least, Junior figured they would. Fern wasn't much of a fighter, not physically, but the cowboy could throw a punch and raise some hell if he needed to. "Let's keep an eye on 'em, obviously. Make sure they aren't up to any funny business. But we can handle them. I know we can." He wasn't one for long speeches about the power of faith and friendship, but he knew good and well that, separated as the gangs may be, if one of them got messed with, the other three would pile in and scrap too, if it meant slugging some Auradon brats.

Adrian "Ian" Salazar son of captain armando salazar
For once in his life, Ian wasn't on the ship. He generally tried to assert his dominance over the town by roaming it, every once in a while. There wasn't a schedule for this, because then the adults would feel too safe. They would know when he was coming. That would just be stupid. Instead, he wanted them to live in constant fear of getting thrown around by him. Even if they were giants and taller than he was, they all knew that he could take them. Most of the time, everyone was too scared to try. It was nice, after two years of constant battles. Having a peaceful walk was one of the best parts about being in town nowadays. So long as everyone behaved, Ian knew he'd have a good time.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed his quartermaster's little brother. With a smile, Ian circled back, coming at the young boy from behind so that he could tousle Chase's hair. Ian laughed at his handiwork and announced himself with, "You been good today or did you con someone?" His question was harmless, since he really didn't care who Chase scammed. He was just happy to see the teenager. Honestly, Ian should be worried that the young man was messing with the transfers, but he wasn't. Something inside him just figured the kid would want to befriend them. Chase knew better than to think conning someone would turn them into a friend. Usually. Ian was pretty sure that sort of situation was entirely possible on the Isle. Like two scammers just got together, tried to con each other and just bonded over it.
Ian realized that the cat looked a little sad, and barely kept himself from frowning. He needed to fix whatever was happening that upset him. If not for the sake of the Crew's moral, but specifically for Sofia. The young woman had been a huge help yesterday, what with everything that had happened while they were relatively outnumbered. Not that they were actually going to fight the transfers, but the fact that they had even shown up on his ship was crazy. He had been trying to avoid that as a possibility. "Do you want to keep me company while making sure everyone's behaving?" The Captain asked with a raised eyebrow, making sure to use his best pirate voice. Sometimes, he played up the whole leader thing, if only to entertain the others. If Tana was around, she'd probably laugh at him.

Charleston Finley Cat Son of Cheshire Cat and Felicia
The boy's eyes widened when he felt a hand on him, but he relaxed when he saw it was his captain. He gasped in fake offense. "I'll have you know, sir, that I did absolutely nothing of the sort today." While that was the truth, Chase could not say the same about the day before... or the day before that. Hey, he lived on a prison island. Scamming people was far from the worst thing that happened here. Plus, he helped feed himself and whoever might need some help with food that way. Sofia was busy, and Chase couldn't expect her to drop everything and get her hands on some food from him.
At Ian's second question, Chase shrugged, but smiled. "Yeah. That sounds cool," he said. He tossed the can from hand to hand before raising it up near Ian's face so that the captain could see it. "I think this is food, but I'm not positive. I was gonna go see if Ebby wanted to hang out but it looks like he's doing stuff with his siblings today. You wanna see if this is edible?" he asked. He wanted to hang out with Ian - it made him feel responsible and mature like Sofia was - but he also wanted to eat.
"I suppose this means I should be on my best behavior?" Chase asked. He certainly wouldn't turn down a chance to have some fun, but always tried his best to behave when he was around the higher up crew members - Ian, Sofia, Mair, and Farris. It was when he was left to his own devices that the cat found himself messing with others.
Hey, the world was a game of cat and mouse and Chase didn't ever want to see himself as the mouse.
Sofia was smart, and she didn't naively trust anyone that crossed her path, but Chase worried that her desire to be a guide would be her downfall. Yeah, sure, sometimes he got himself into a fight that he couldn't handle, but it was worth it. Chase liked to think he was doing decently for himself when it came to Isle survival. He was just in a bit of a dry spot right now, which is why he was relying on this mystery can that may not even be edible to feed himself.
He knew about the transfers and he was certainly excited to meet them and see what they were about before he decided what to do with them (though scamming them was already a tempting option - before they knew to be street smart out here), but he didn't want to do that with Ian. The captain was a better man than Chase, and he didn't want to overstep in whatever plans Ian might have already for the transfers.

Fern Alana Facilier Daughter of Facilier and Ayizan
"I don't know. I mean, these kids are innocent. It's completely possible that they aren't here to cause harm. But we all know who's behind their mission." She didn't say who it was. The kids themselves were most likely harmless, but it was the puppeteer behind the expedition. The same King that had locked their parents up years ago had a renewed interest in his prisoners and that's what Fern didn't like. "It could even be that they harm us without realizing it. These kids have grown up well fed and pampered. They could see us as threats and lash out in self defense. They could be gathering intel only for that mangy animal in control of us to do worse than he's already doing."
She sighed.
"There's just too many variables in the equation," she said. She focused fully on Junior now, chewing on her lip slightly as she fell into deep thought. "You're right that if they try any funny business that we can handle them. But I guess it's more that I'm worried about who's in control. I mean, I know that it's us kids that are in control here, but I doubt Beast just sat back let the kids run the country. They could just be pawns in some bigger game of his."
She sighed, rubbing her face with her hands. She was too tired to deal with any of this right now. "At least you're right though. A surprise attack from the Auradon kids themselves is probably the least of my worries right now." She didn't know how Junior did it. How he thought so rationally through things instead of jumping from bad scenario to bad scenario like she did. She didn't actually know how to express how much she appreciated and cared about him.
"What about you? How was your day?" she asked. He deserved a chance to talk about his day as well. Junior's life and worries and frustrations and happiness was just as important - likely more important - than Hera. Yeah, the transfer situation was still in her mind and she would have tonight to draw up a plan, but Junior had helped calm her at least a bit. They were in no immediate danger. The Isle kids had home field advantage and numbers if it came down to a fight, and she was sure Beast wouldn't do anything to endanger the Isle while his people were here. He might not care, but their parents sure would.
She could talk to him about his day, pet some animals, talk to Monty before she went to bed, and continue to calm down for now. Then looking at it with a fresh eye tonight and Junior's words of wisdom would better prepare her to bring something feasible to Del, Mori, and Tait.
Right?
At this point, she was doing all she could to just keep herself out of the dark pit overthinking and stress that came with a situation like this.

Katherine "Junior" Colorado Facilier, Jr. son of Alameda Slim and Katherine Barlow
At his wife's reminder that there was a man behind the man, the very king who condemned them to die, the cowboy's mouth pressed into a thin line. He could find himself giving the transfers a chance -- none of them were probably any older than he was, himself. But the monster behind the mask, the Beast in charge of the mainland, was another battle entirely. Fern had a really good point when it came to "King Bete" and his involvement. There were strings attached, somewhere, or a twist in the plan. There was no goodness in the heart of the foreign king, and that was a fact they could depend on as sure as the sun set in the evening.
"The best we can do is to keep on our guard -- be on our best behavior, and try not to provoke them." He advised, shaking his head. "If they want to attack us, they ain't gonna outright go and throw the first punch. They're gonna look for an excuse to call for reinforcements and crack down, I assure you. So as long as you keep order..." He knew that between Fern and Tait's caring, and Mori and Del's more...strict nature, that they could, in fact, keep order in the coven. "Then they can't find any real reason to attack." The Isle was full of good, worthwhile people. While they didn't have any examples of good, worthwhile people growing up, Junior was sure of it. There were good traits, Auradon worthy traits, in all of his friends and family, and the best they could do was show the transfers that they were worth it. "They're kids, not monsters -- if Beast wants 'em to be up to some funny business, they still ain't gonna do it unprovoked."
When Fern asked how his day was, however, he changed the subject. There was only so many things he could tell her to get her to stop worrying, and while he wanted her to relax, for her sake, winding her up about the definitely implied intentions of Beast was not the way to go. "It's been a'right." He mentioned, smiling towards her. "Queenie's chicks hatched today -- you can see 'em here. And Cornbread and I caught a rabbit." One might think the cowboy's day was uneventful. But he'd done that on purpose. He needed to be away from all the hollering and fussing that came along with these transfers. Around animals and the scant amount of nature that their prison actually had. He needed peace and quiet, and that's what he'd sought out for, today. "We can cook it for supper, if you're wanting." Food was food, and while the rabbit was the same skinny, underfed specimen that the Isle turned up in every species of animal that had slowly become native here, it was food.

Nanji Saif Namiri son of Nuru and Sabor
Shiloh had been hurt.
Quietly, as the little guy approached, Nanji took stock of the human boy's condition. He didn't have any serious injuries, much to the lions' luck, and he was walking fine. But he was crying, and that clued the panther in to exactly what had happened, here. There was only one thing that would make the generally gentle and upbeat little boy upset like this, and that was Shamakani and her goons.
The panther let out a long, frustrated sigh, putting his hand on Shiloh's shoulder. Shamakani, her brother, their nephew, and that cat...fox...creature that hung around Shaka had been tormenting the kid since he decided he wanted to live in the Outlands with the animals. Part of him understood their anger -- they'd gone away into the Outlands to get away from civilization, and they felt threatened by a human. They lived off of fear and anger, and they weren't happy about Nanji and Jace accepting him into the pack.
That's where Nanji's understanding stopped.
If they didn't want to deal with Shiloh, they didn't have to. The ferals hardly gathered as a unified force, and the Outlands were a fairly big place. It was incredibly easy to avoid a child in a desert. The lions were perpetuating their own misery, on purpose. They wanted a source of outrage in the pack, and Shiloh was it.
But it didn't seem like a huge deal, to the panther, that Shiloh was out here. So what if he was human? Maybe humans were sick of society too? The city felt cramped and crowded, with so many sounds and threats that it had been driving him insane. As much as he cared about his friends in Tortuga, he needed to find his own space and peace, and he'd found that in the wild. It didn't mean he had a hatred of humans, just their society and all the noise it provided, and maybe Shiloh felt the same way. If the little boy felt that he belonged more out here, with the animals, then so be it.
"Did they hurt you?" It was important to know where the kid's injuries were, and how bad they were. He wasn't going to go on a long tirade about revenge, he wasn't going to thrash the lions unless they crossed his path. It was Shiloh's place to show his strength, otherwise the lions would never leave him alone. He couldn't keep saving the day for his adoptive son -- but he could teach him to do better in the next encounter, if he wasn't too injured.

Fern Alana Facilier Daughter of Facilier and Ayizan
Beast was the real enemy. She wondered for a moment if the citizens of Auradon knew how horrible their king was. Any decent person would want literal children to grow up in a safer environment than a crime ridden trash prison, wouldnt they? She understood the normal people wanting prison for the parents of these children, but the children themselves? She tried her best to shelter Monty. At least give him a better life than she and Fausto had had.
She knew she shouldn't be bothering Junior with this all. He was a good man, and he likely could have gotten any leadership position that he had wanted. He literally did not ask for this. But she kept her mouth closed, physically stopping herself from apologizing to Junior.
Instead, she focused on him talking about his day. At this point, their conversation about the transfers would just end up going in circles. He'd already given her something to think about with his input and she didn't need to spout out every fear and uncertainty she had about the entire situation. Plus, his day usually made her feel better. Baby chickens. What was better than chicks? Maybe baby dogs. Or baby horses. She'd been in love with horses since she'd started to go for rides with Homie. But really, baby animals in general were just the absolute best. "I'm so glad I could come home to baby chickens," she commented. Well, escaping the craziness of her job for a while was good. She'd realized how much better she felt in general after moving to the Slim ranch. She actually had a little time to relax and escape the craziness of the world out there. But chicks made it better.
And a rabbit sounded good. Any kind of fresh food like that sounded good. Fresh food wasn't the most common occurrence on the Isle, which was a shame. Growing kids needed proper nutrition. Even though some of the Isle inhabitants were older - like her and Junior - there were plenty of kids and teenagers that needed proper food.
But she was certainly not about to turn down the rabbit. She wanted to make sure her family was fed as well. But fresh meat was impossible to turn down. "We should probably get that cooking soon. You know I can never turn down a suggestion like that."

Shiloh Benton Jack Son of ShiverJack & Beatrice Le Beak
Shiloh was glad to see Sola as well as Nanji. They were both better than Shamakani and her followers to be around. To be fair, Shiloh hadn't met many people he liked less than the older lions. Sure, some of the adults were meanies too, but he meant from the younger population. They were usually a lot more chill. He had even been afraid of the ferals for a little bit before coming out here. But then Jace was nice to him and Nanji was nice to him and Sola was nice to him. "Hi, Sola," he said, greeting her.
He had quickly learned that being out here wasn't as easy as he had expected, but it still felt better to him. At least, it felt better when he was able to avoid the lions. He'd heard that ferals were something to be feared, but he didn't fear them anymore. Well, not all of them. Nanji and Jace were even teaching him to be strong! One day, he was gonna be even stronger than the lions and he could go punch Shamakani. And if he punched Shamakani then she would run away crying instead of him.
He was slightly embarrassed now to be seen crying, even if it was just Sola and Nanji. His small shoulders slumped and he shook his head at Nanji's question. "Shaka stole one of my carrots and threw it in the dirt and Shamakani pushed me, but I'm okay." He was a little sore, like anyone would be after stumbling back from a push, but he wasn't injured and he had already learned to try and ignore stuff like that. It was only serious pain that he would have to worry about.
He frowned. "They just did their usual thing about trying to chase me out of here and making rude comments about you and Jace," he said, looking up towards Nanji. It was clear that the group of lions didn't respect Jace, and Shiloh didn't like to see that. She wasn't weak just because she let a human join their ranks. He could see how that night upset some of the wild animals, but Jace and Nanji were trying to teach him to be strong. Didn't that show that Nanji and Jace were strong, but kind people? Or... animals? That was more important than just being strong and rude.

Eberhard Hassel Grimhilde
son of the evil queen and the huntsman Ebby had been determined since the moment it was decided that tonight was going to be the family night to get something to make the night fun. He realized about halfway through the day that he probably should have checked what food they actually had at home. But by the time he had already started on his mission, he had known that there wouldn't be time to check about it. He had been right about the lack of time, but it had been utterly worth it. While Ebby couldn’t really say he was genuinely late, he was the last one into the house and into the kitchen. That put a gross little pit of dread in Ebby that Ebby was willing to squash down because the likelihood of everyone having been waiting on him for long was unlikely. He hoped. Either way, he was here now, andas he moved into the kitchen and leaned against a counter, he announced gladly, “I have a gift! As much as a gift can be from myself to all of us.” He presented his siblings with a couple of chicken eggs he had managed to procure. He wasn’t willing to retell the story on just what he went through to get them. But that was besides the point. “What else do we have?” Which was more of a, what goes well with eggs, because heck be danged if they didn’t manage to have some eggs tonight. There was enough so everyone would have one egg and that was a wonder. An absolute treat Ebby thought and hoped others would agree.

EMMETT FLETCHER GRIMHILDE son of the evil queen and the magic mirror
"So, fried rice with chicken, peas and carrots?" Emmett suggested, trying not to frown with how little food that left them for the morning. With the amount of ingredients, they would have some left over, but even then, that was still pushing it for breakfast. It's not like any of them wanted to eat tomato sauce for breakfast. Though he could make a rather watered down broth that they could eat.
Emmett sighed, deciding that he would spend the day tomorrow hunting for more food. Maybe dig around in Southwark. Even if he was caught, it's not like there was any rules against looting trash in other districts. If worse came to it, he'd sneak into the transfer's place and dig around there. No one would have to know, and if it meant they'd be able to eat, he'd do it.
Then the young boy chose not to dwell on the responsibilities of tomorrow, instead turning to Ebby with a rather large smile and saying, "Thank you for the eggs." He was almost jumping up and down, because he knew how to make this work. It would've worked without the eggs, of course, but now they got cool fried egg rice. It just tasted better.
Then again, when something was a rare treat, it usually tasted better.
He didn't set to work right away, since he wanted everyone's agreement first. Just because an idea had come to him didn't mean that the others were also okay with it. "Ernie, you didn't already have a plan, right?" He looked at his other brother, worried that he had just took over a dinner that his elder sibling already thought about. He had been in the kitchen for some reason, Emmett didn't think he would just be hanging out in there for fun. Though that wasn't an impossible situation. The kitchen was fun.

Moriena “Mori” Blackbeard daughter of morgana and captain blackbeard
With her first plan busted, Mori quickly left the ship. Jamie had interrupted, and she needed to get out of dodge while Davina distracted him. As much of an attitude the woman had, she new when another person needed backup. Mori couldn't fault her for everything that went wrong with her family, even if she really wanted to. Tien was a sweetheart, and Ulrik was her family. She had to be greatful that Tait was left out of everything by not being connected to Davy Jones. There was a pretty good reason that all of the other pirates hated him, and it wasn't just because he had a creepy octopus face. Mori was offended for cephalopods everywhere. Davy Jones gave them all a bad reputation, and he barely counted.
Mori let her thought train fly away, since it was distracting her from her next idea of how to spend the day. She didn't want to think of family drama that barely concerned her. It's not like her dad had gone off and had a second family. Mori shuttered at the thought. She never wanted to share her dad. Looking down the road at the Smithy, she sighed. Maybe she would have to get more used to sharing him than she ever thought that she would have to.
When she entered the building, she was immediately greeted with a hug. "Hey, little fish." Mori smiled as she pulled away from her father. He didn't stop for her to speak, however. "I'm on a run to Hook's, so I can't stop and chat." He leaned down to kiss her head, then was on his way. Mori barely felt the loss of heat, considering the forge was still burning. "There's some hemp bread upstairs!" The young girl giggled at her father's usual attempt of feeding her. She wasn't against it, of course, but he tended to mess it up when she wasn't around to help.
As she turned around, she noticed that the apprentice was here. She forced herself not to roll her eyes but didn't smile. There was only so much she could do. The young squid hopped up on a relatively clean work counter and raised an eyebrow. "How's working here been?" The sad part about her curiosity is that it had nothing to do with who Roman was as a person. She knew that, in the relative sense. No, this was about her father and her relationship with him. She wanted to make sure she wasn't getting replaced.
