(Ah thanks! I had a little diffculty writing it, but I'm glad to hear you think it turned out well. Also, yeah. I think the spell would start wearing off now.)
As Danir met her eyes, Edlyn's smile slightly grew. The thumbs up of encouragement further lifted her mood, glad it was entertaining for the elf. As she looked away, the man seemed to shift slightly. By the time she realized what she saw and could look over again, everything seemed to be fine. Edlyn curiously narrowed her eyes. There was no change in the elf's appearence and no one seemed to notice; everyone was still caught up in the spectacle of the fight. The woman frowned, then gave herself a slight shake as she turned her attention back towards Brysen and the judges. Did his form just flicker? No. She was just seeing things, used to how Danir looked as an elf. The spell was supposed to last days, so they had at least a few hours before the disguise began to falter.
"How much longer until they announce me as the winner?" Brysen whispered. The blacksmith almost jumped as the man suddenly appeared beside her. The woman spared him a glance. There was a mischevious twinkle in his eyes, which caused Edlyn to roll her own.
"They'll hopefully announce the victory soon. Though, let's face it: either I'm going to win or it'll be a draw. Probably the former as they don't want an unsatisfied crowd." Her opponate snorted, but grinned. She returned it with a smile of her own before her attention shifted to the duelmaster and the judges. It seemed they had come to an agreement on the winner.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the aging man announced, "we have chosen our winner of this match. Congratulations...Brysen Stroud!" A mix of cheers an applause erupted through the crowd. Edlyn shot a sideways glance at the man who winked at her as he bowed.
"Thank you, thank you, everyone! It was a pleasure to fight for you all today!" The blacksmith snorted and rolled her eyes, though knew it was all part of the show. As the excitment died down, the pair was ushered from the makeshift arena. Hopefully things would continue to go smoothly.
(I think your replies are good. There's always enough for me to use and I like your writing style.
Agreed. As I said, she's really fun to wrote for and I like how she and Danir play off each other.
So to recap real quick, Danir's disguise fades away, which causes people to freak out. He runs into the woods, but is chased by a small group, which Edlyn either follows or is a part of to help him. During the chase, the humans get attacked by another magical creature, which is what causes Edlyn to get taken in by Danir and co. Does that seem right?
Yeah, coups are fun. Anyway, I like the idea of the hermit knowing what's happening in the city. Maybe they have a following of sorts that agree with their ideas on attacking humans and avenging their ancestors against them. I also really like the idea of negotiations between humans and elves leading to Edlyn becoming an ambassador of sorts. Also, maybe when this comes out, not every human would be fine and happy with the new development and either start a coup of their own or even begrudgingly work with the hermits elves. Kind of an enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of deal.)

Danir With // Where (Ack! I'm terribly late! Sorry! >.< Happy New Year! Thank you, and I hope the same for you. I've been doing good so far, and I hope that all is well on your end as well. )
Had it only been Edlyn to notice the flicker of his appearance, he might want have been fine. However, with a crowd this big, it wasn't as simple as that. The spell used to alter his appearance was nothing more than an illusion. There was no physical warnings for him when it was cast and nor were there any when it would wear off. Perhaps that's why Danir didn't think anything about it or the limited time frame they were working with. In fact, he didn't know anything was wrong until he felt more eyes upon him. Turning his head to one side, he noticed that several folks were staring at him with wide eyes.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, figuring they must have just new and trying to figure out who he was. Yet the moment he spoke seemed to be the moment to break whatever traces of the spell might have linger.
One woman narrowed her eyes and all but hissed at him, "Elf!" She back up, bumping into the people behind her and causing their attention to turn towards them.
Danir mentally cursed himself. Maybe she was mistaken? Maybe he could play it off as a misunderstanding. However, there was already too many people looking at him. From the corner of his eye, he thought he saw a man rushing off from the crowd. Whether he was going to get someone to handle him or for some other reason, he wasn't sure, and he wasn't going to stay and find out. The elf quickly turned and bolted, doing his best not to run anyone over. Of course, in doing so, he caused a couple of shouts to go up, alerting everyone near them in the crowd to hear.
(Yes, I believe that was what we settled on doing.
All of that was pretty much what I had in mind as well, lol. So that means it's meant to be done.)

(No worries! The new year just started and all, so that can be a little jarring. You're welcome and I'm glad to confirm things on my end have been good too.)
"Elf!"
Edlyn's stomach dropped. The cry of the woman's voice was unmistakable as it broke through the elated crowd. The blacksmith sharply turned her attention to the stands as people formed a pocket around Danir. She hadn't been seeing things after all; the man had started to change back into his elf form. His image shifted from the human illusion to his familiar elven features, a clear sign that the spell was failing. Finally, it fizzled out, leaving his true appearence on display for everyone to see. All was still for a moment. Then Danir ran. Panic rose within the crowd as people noticed him for the first time. Some began to shout while others rushed from the stands in the opposite direction.
"How did a sharp-ear get here?!" Edlyn glanced at Brysen, not realizing the man had been watching the entire scene unfold with her. Brysen glared at Danir as he fled from the make-shift arena and into the main thoroughfare of the festival. More screams accompanied his arrival, which would soon cause a mass panic if it hadn't already. There was no hiding or containing his presence now. Hopefully he could escape unharmed in the chaos and go safely back into the elven lands. Unfortunately with an elf in their midst, it was unlikely they would let him get away so easily. If they didn't catch him there, a hunting party would be sent to track him down and capture him. Edlyn bit her lip, then tugged on Brysen's arm.
"We should see if we can help with anything." The man gave a small nod before following her from the small arena. People were already well aware of Danir's presence. Whispers and cries of "elf" and "danger" rippled through the crowd. It was relatively calm despite the situation, a few calling for order among the fairgoers. Edlyn scanned the faces of the crowd, trying to see if Danir was around or if he managed to slip away. Instead of finding him, her eyes were drawn to a large, burly man from a town over. He was probably the reason for the order among the crowd. She thought his name was Orvin and he had a reputation of being tense. Edlyn had only spoken to him a few times and thought that status was well-earned. After a moment of hesitation, the pair approched Orvin and his small group. There were four people among him, two men and two women. She recognized Lynne, Cale, and Mallen among the group, though not the second woman. She was likely from out of town too.
"Good, they sent us more help."
"More help?" Brysen questioned.
"Sure," Orvin answered. "We're going after that savage of course. Elves are notoriously tricky with their magic and ability to take refuge within the forest. We can't let him slip through our fingers and hide away, only to bring more into the area. We snuff him out now and teach 'em a lesson about hiding amongst our own." A few people muttered in agreement while Edlyn awkwardly averted her eyes.
"I want at least ten people on our team," Orvin continued. "You two coming or what?"
"Of course," Edlyn answered quickly. Brysen eyed her, but didn't object. The pale-skinned man nodded before turning his attention to a few more new arrivals. Hopefully Danir and his brothers would be out of the area by the time they started their sesrch.
After nearly thirty minutes, the team was gathered and ready to chase aftersearch. Twelve people total had joined the party and they had managed to gather eight horses. Most people rode in teams, Edlyn and Brysen being two of them. With Orvin at the head, the group, the party galloped towards the forest. If all went well they would return empty handed. If not...the blacksmith wasn't sure what to think.
(Sounds good!
And yay. Love how that worked out.)

Danir
Never had Danir ran so fast in his life. Just moments before he had been laughing and socializing with the people of the town in perfect harmony. Everything was great, and he had really been enjoying himself as he learned of their culture. Oh how quickly his enjoyment turned to fear. There was no mistaking the malice in their voices, the fear and the hatred. Had they just been frightened, maybe he could have tried to convince them he was no threat. That he truly meant none of them any harm. Yet the weapons that were drawn and the orders for his capture, and his death from a few of the rowdier bunch, sent all hopes of calming the situation. Fear coursed through him like ice water. His feet scrambled to get him away from the town.
There was only one path back to the forest in which he knew of, and that would be back towards Edlyn's house. Danir didn't want to lead the chase to her home in case that might spread suspicion onto the woman but her house was the only one near the forest. Still, he would try to circle about it as best as he could. He was was just about to the house, the building was just coming into sight, when his heart fell to his stomach. The elf didn't need to look behind him to hear that there were horses after him. He could run faster than an average human, sure, but horses? He didn't stand a chance. Magic could help him, but he didn't want to case them to have any more reasons to hate him. Desperately, he searched for more speed. If he could make it to the trees, then he might have chance. The horses wouldn't be able to run, and he might be able to get word to his brothers. Hopefully.

(Well, that was a lot longer than I intended it to be. Sorry about that.)
The group arrived at the edge of the forest sometime later. Danir was hopefully far enough away not to be caught up in the fray or found. If they were lucky, the whole situation would just blow over and become something they laugh about in a few months. Brysen dismounted from their steed and walked forward. Edlyn followed suit, gazing out into woods that had been her refgue on a few occasions. She didn't miss how close they were to her home. Hopefully no one else would make the connection. After everyone had dismounted, Orvin signaled for the group to move forward. The blacksmith drew in a sharp breath. Did Danir have enough time to escape? Had he joined his brothers yet? Did he even get away from the festival or was he still trapped among the frightened people? As thoughts swirled through Edlyn's mind she knew she had to think of something to stall them. The horses. They were just going to leave the horses. It was a legitimate concern to bring up, but also a good stalling tactic. Hopefully it wouldn't raise suspicions.
"Shouldn't someone stay with the horses?" She asked quickly. "You know, make sure they don't run off or get messed with? Besides, maybe having less people around will give us the element of surprise or make it harder for us to track." All eyes turned to her as their large leader took a few steps toward her. Orvin eyed her through a narrow gaze. He clenched and unclenched his fist a few times, annoyance radiating off him. Edlyn swallowed and glanced at Brysen for help. She only received a shrug in return. Traitor. As she shifted her gaze back to Orvin, Edlyn found the man nodding.
"Darla, Perth, stay with the horses. The rest of us will search for that sharp-ear." Orvin pulled away allowing Edlyn to release the breath she'd been holding. He stalked away as if nothing happened, though a few people she didn't recognize snickered. This earned them a glare from the burly man. Edlyn stifled a laugh and turned to Brysen, glaring at him. "Thanks for the help," she grumbled through gritted teeth.
"Sorry, Eddie. Orvin's scray enough and I'm not looking to be added to his list. Or to endure his yelling and death stare." The woman sighed, but said nothing. She suppose she couldn't fault him for that. She turned her attention to Orvin as he addressed the party. "After we enter that forest, there'll be no turning back. We're going to get that elf, drag him out of the woods, and find out why he was terrorizing us. After that we'll figure out...something to do with him." As a few people whopped or cheered, Edlyn found her heart sinking. While it was unlikely her friend would be caught, these people were determined to make him pay for causing a disturbance. Steadying herself, the blacksmith trailed after the group.
The party trailed for nearly twenty minutes, the entrance for the woods now lost in the thicket behind them. "Do you hear that?" Orvin asked. Edlyn paused and listened to the sounds of the forest, frowning. There was nothing. No birdsong, no chirping crickets, no-
The blacksmith's eyes widened. "No," she and a few others said in unison. That was the point, everything was perfectly silent.
"I bet ya it's that elf's doing. All creatures have gone silent in fear of that monster. Keep your senses sharp. We don't know if he's the only one lurking about; there could be others we don't know about." A few muttered in agreement, though it was obvious everyone had been put on edge by the relevationtion. Of course, Orvin was also wrong. It wasn't Danir or the elves who caused the silence; it was something else entierly. That thought almost made it worse. What could cause the forest to go silent? The woman thought back to the wampus and the silence it had brought. Was there another creature out there causing it this time? Edlyn forced herself to remain calm. Panicking would only make things worse. "We should turn back," Edlyn finally said. That earned her a few glances, but also a nod of agreement or two.
"No. I already said there was no turning back after we entered the forest. We press on."
"Are we sure this is the elf's doing, though? Elves live in the forest, so the animals would be use to them. A predator, however, does make everything go quiet. It doesn't matter if it was the elf's doing or not. I have a bad feeling about this and we should-"
"Enough! We can't let that sharp-eared savage get away! We're not people that should be messed with. Isn't it time we teach the elves another lesson before innocent people get hurt, kid? As I said, we press on and fight whatever may be lurking in the trees."
Edlyn glared at the man, but said nothing more. It wasn't an argument she could win. No one else brought up any concerns as they continued on their journey, thought it was clear everyone was still on edge. Everyone except Orvin, of course. The man held up a fist signaling for the party to stop. "Lynne, Arlen, I want you to help search the area for prints. You're some of the best trackers in your town. So I've heard, at least. Time for you to prove it." The pair exchanged a glance, but said nothing as they took to searching. Hopefully it would come up empty. Areln excited waving pulled Edlyn from her thoughts.
"Over here! I found a set of tracks we can-"
Arlen's voice cut off as wolf-like creature burst from the bushes and landed on him. The man cried out in pain as those nearby drew their weapons. Edlyn stared at it for a moment, wide-eyed. With thick brown fur and a scarred face, it looked more natural than the six-legged wampus she fought weeks ago. It had a short snout, wicked claws, and dark, beady eyes.
Someone called out. "Wargs! Two more had appeared nearby, snarling and licking their jaws. Breaking out of her trance, Edlyn unsheathed her sword and fell into a defensive stance as one of the wargs dashed at her, snapping. The blacksmith danced away while bringing down her sword, slicing at the beast's side. The warg howled in pain, becoming angrier than before. It turned and prepared to attack Edlyn again, but a strike from Brysen distracted it instead. Taking advantage of its distraction, the woman stabbed at the beast's side. Unfortunately, it saw her coming and managed to dodge out of the way. Gritting her teeth, Edlyn swung again and managed to get a hit on its flank. With a throaty growl, the warg whipped its head towards her, jaws snapping with ire. Once again, it was distracted, though not by Brysen. Nearby, Orvin and his companions had taken care of their warg. They had split up and were now helping to rid of the last two in the clearing.
Orvin brought his axe down on the creature's back. As he swung, the warg snapped at his other arm, biting down and managing to take a chunk out. Despite the cry of pain, the intense man managed to strike at the beast a few times. Edlyn dashed forward to help, smacking the warg on the side of the head and drawing its attention to her. It finally let go of Orvin's arm and turned its attention to the blacksmith. With a growl, it pounced forward and reached out to swipe at her. Edlyn stumbled backwards. Too slow. The beast managed to graze her leg. The wound didn't seem deep, but she didn't have time to check it over. The warg dashed forward, Edlyn stepping to the side just in time. As the warg clumsily came to a halt, the blacksmith raised her sword over her head and brought it down on the beast's neck. It spun to face Brysen, causing Edlyn to hit its side instead.
With a final push, Brysen thrust his sword forward and caught the warg in the throat. Warm blood sprayed from the wound as the beast fell motionless. Without hesitation, Edlyn spun to face the final warg, only to find it had fallen as well. Bloodied, battered, and broken, the group had won the fight. Breathing heavily, Edlyn wiped her blade before sheathing it.
"That wasn't too bad," one of Orvin's people muttered. A few hummed in agreement, though no one spoke. As a few people began to tend to the severly wounded, Orvin began to take a survey of the damage.
"Still think chasing afterthe elf is worth it?" Edlyn grumbled. Appearently, she wasn't as quiet as she thought as a few glanced in her direction while Orvin narrowed his eyes.
"Get off my back, kid," he grumbled. Then after a moment of hesitation said, "Though I suppose you do have a point. It seems we must turn back. If we're lucky, those beasts got to that sharp-ear first. Assuming he didn't send them our way, of course." A few muttered in agreement as they prepared to leave. As they made their way out of the clearing, a rustling behind the group caught their attention.
Another warg leapt from the underbrush, growling at the group. A few gasped as Edlyn's eyes widened. "Run!" Orvin shouted. Scrambling to their feet, people dashed towards the distant exit of the woods. Edlyn followed persuit, Brysen right behind her, with the injured Arlen taking the rear. Edlyn glanced back only to see the man trip over some roots and fall to the ground. The blacksmith skidded to a stop, Brysen pausing beside her.
"What are you..." Brysen trailed off as the warg bit down on Arlen's leg and began dragging him away. "Arlen!" Brysen exclaimed. This drew the attention of those ahead. Edlyn and her friend locked eyes, then nodded. The two dashed after him.
"Where are you going?" Someone called after them.
"To save Arlen," Brysen called back.
"We'll send someone to help," Orvin shouted to them. Neither responded, now focused on their new mission.

Danir
(Lol, don't worry about it. I love long posts. ^^ )
Somehow, Danir had made it to the forest. He didn't stay on the ground for long. As soon as he was a safe distance in, he scaled the nearest tree as high as he could. With a bit of magic, he coaxed the branches to shield him from sight. There, in the crook of two branches, he caught his breath. Well this evening hadn't gone how he had hoped. He hadn't even gotten a chance to say goodbye to Edlyn like he had wanted to. Edlyn.
Gods, he hoped she would be okay. There were plenty of people who had saw the two together, would have remembered they had introduced themselves as friends and even that he had been staying with her. Would she be alright? Maybe he should swing by her house, just to check on her. It would be a dumb move, but he couldn't let harm come to her after everything she had done for him. If he could spare her the suffering, she would. He would trash the place. Hide some items to make it look like he had stolen from her. Show there was no allegiance to him on her part.
Then there were the sounds of hoof beats and voices. The elf sat still as a statue, hardly daring to breath. Sounds echoed funny in a forest as sounds bounced off the trees. He knew the direction it was coming from, but it was hard to tell how many people were there and where they were heading. The wait to try and decipher such details was painful, but he sat through it. They seemed to be going past his hiding spot, which was good. However, they were going in the same direction he needed to go. After he was sure that they were well passed his tree, he dispelled the magic and climbed down. He could skirt the party, swing around and meet up with his brothers before they stumbled upon where his family had made camp. With an ear listening to the humans, he jogged through the underbrush, feet barely making a sound. Once he even caught sight of the horses they used, but no sign of the riders they carried. So they were on foot now. Great. His chances just improved.
Another ten minutes went by, and Danir was thinking he was actually going to make it. That is, until tracks in the ground made him stop. He knew the prints well, for they were fairly common in the forest. Wargs. Crap! If there was wargs in the area, that wasn't good. The creatures traveled in packs, and they were violent buggers. Excellent trackers as well. From the looks of things, the tracks were fresh. Very fresh. Could he just ignore them?
The cry in the distance chose for him. It was a man's voice, but the surprise and distress was clear. It wasn't a good idea to go help the people who wanted him dead, but he just couldn't leave them there. Despite all his better judgment, Danir changed directions, heading towards the humans.

(No, that was great! And this post was another long one, but judging by your last comment, that might not be a terrible thing.)
It wasn't diffcult to follow Arlen and the warg. In addition to the taken man's cries came the now familiar growls and snarls of the beast. Brysen and Edlyn followed a hard to miss trail of dragged dirt, twigs, leaves, and blood. The tracker was close. After a few minutes, the pair found themselves on the outskirts of a clearing, with the warg and Arlen in the center. Edlyn cringed as the man weakly fended off the beast. How much blood had he lost? That was the next biggest worry after getting him to safety. Arlen didn't deserve to be saved, only for that hope to be snuffed out due to blood loss.
Brysen signaled for her to join him behind a large rock buried in the dirt. Silently, she stepped over to him and crouched behind the stone. As she settled in, Brysen grabbed a good-sized stone from the ground and slowly stood from their hiding place. With careful precision, he launched the stone to the other side of the clearing. It hollowly knocked aganist a tree before rolling through the undergrowth. As the warg took the bait and stalked away, Brysen quickly ducked back behind the rock. Though it wasn't much, it would give the wounded and bloody Arlen a moment of relief. It was a good distraction. For now.
"Okay, I have an idea," Edlyn said quickly, her voice just above a whisper. "I'll distract the warg and lead it away while you grab Arlen and flee." Brysen blinked.
"That's a terrible idea."
"And why's that? Do you want to be the one to distract the beast while I try and get Arlen to safety? He probably needs to be carried and you're stronger than I am. Besides, I know these woods well enough and I'm both smaller and quicker than you. I also already have a plan. I think there's a ravine nearby. I'll see if I can lure it there. I'll see if I can push it off the edge or find a safe area for me to hide. If I can't manage that, I'll just wait it out until it's gone or a search party comes for me."
"That's it?! That's your plan?"
"Well, I said I had a plan. I just never said I had a good plan. Look, the longer we stay here and argue, the more likely it is for Arlen to end up dead. Unless you have something better, my idea's all we got. You ready or not?"
Brysen opened his mouth to argue, then sighed. "I don't like this, Edlyn. It's a dangerous idea that could quickly end with you dead. However, I trust you. If you think you'll be okay, I won't stop you--though I doubt I could if I tried. I'll go help Arlen and get him away. As soon as he's safe, I'll come back to help you. If we're lucky, a party's already been sent out way. Try and stay ahead of it and don't get caught. Good luck, Edlyn."
With a smile and a curt nod, the two parted ways. Still crouching, Edlyn quietly moved around the perimeter of the clearing, making her way towards the warg. It had reemerged from its investigation of the rock and now lumbered back towards Arlen. Edlyn could hear him whimpering as the beast neared. She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, blocking him out before bursting from the bushes. The beast snapped its attention to her, its jaws drawn back in a snarl as bloody drool oozed from its maw. The blacksmith smothered the panic rising in her chest as she backed away from the warg.
With a powerful pounce, the warg launched itself at Edlyn. The woman's eyes widened as she turned and made a break for the forest. The beast had wasted no time in trying to attack her. Twigs and leaves crunched under her boots as she dashed away. The rustling of the beast followed her as the blacksmith headed deeper into the woods. She dared to glance back and distract herself as she checked on Arlen. Brysen was already at his side, helping the man up. Between her and them, the warg was still in hot persuit; beady black eyes trained on her. As Edlyn turned her attention back ahead, she gasped and dodged to the side of an oncoming tree. That was close. By the sound of it, the warg managed to do the same, neither breaking their stride.
Edyln fought the urge to draw the sword bouncing at her side. It would only serve as a distraction as she fled from the warg, though she wasn't even sure how much longer she could outrun the thing. Would it tire and turn back or would it continue the chase? The blacksmith couldn't be sure as she kept her focus on running. Her throat was dry and lungs started burned as the chase went on. How much longer could she keep going?
Edlyn wasn't sure how much time had passed when she heard the warg slow behind her. Although it couldn't have been more than ten minutes since she fled the clearing, it felt like an eternity had passed. The blacksmith didn't slow as she dared to glance back at the beast. Something had momentarily distracted it. Was it an easier target for it to chase, or was it something worse than the warg? There wasn't time to consider as she turned her attention back ahead. Hopefully she would-
The blacksmith skidded to a stop with a soft yelp of surprise. Edlyn hadn't reached the ravine, but a steep incline that lead to another clearing. Clutching the top of her shirt over her chest, the blacksmith leaned over, gasping for breath. It was foolish to stand around instead of taking advantage of the distraction; however it was diffcult to move while out of breath and on wobbly legs. Forcing herself to move, Edlyn looked up into the trees. Hopefully she had enough energy to climb one and if she were lucky, the warg wouldn't be able to follow. She just had to find-
Edlyn yelled out as the beast knocked into her, growling. It dug its claws into her arm and side as it tried to bite down on her shoulder. She gasped as she began to fall, the warg sending them both tumbling down into the clearing below.

Danir (Gosh, I'm really horrible at describing fight scenes.) Danir raced through the woods, following the faint trail left by the warg. It took him too close to where the hunting party was at. He had barely managed to to stop himself before he ran all over two men, one painfully injured. He studied them for a brief moment, but if he knew who they were, their names escaped him. Now wasn't the time to worry over their identities. It was clear that the beast had gotten hold of the one man. But where was it now? He could easily turn away and head to his brothers. It was clear the hunting party would not be continuing the search with the warg around, but the elf couldn't bring himself to simply leave. Even if he had every right to do so, he couldn't leave the creature free to cause death to these people. He needed to be sure Edyln wouldn't run into it, or for it to stumble upon her home and catch her unawares.
So, waiting until he was sure the men had left the clearing, he moved forward, inspecting the ground, and easily found the tracks that showed the direction the beast ran off too. That was the direction he took off in. Now he wished more than ever that he had his bow and quiver with him. All he dared to have on his body was a small, simple dagger. It wasn't uncommon for men to carry small weapons with them, so Edlyn told him, so he had armed himself just in case. Against a human, it would have been more than enough. Now, it would sorely inadequate. He hoped his magic would be enough.
It wasn't long before he found his quarry. Dread and anger coursed through his body, for what he saw was the worst thing that he could have found. The warg was just falling off the edge of the slope that led to the clearing below, but it was dragging Edlyn down with it. "No!" he shouted and lunged after it, but he was too late to stop their decent. He pulled out his blade and didn't think twice. The male flung himself after them, sliding down the incline as fast as he dared. Both woman and beast tumbled wildly, but as soon as they had stopped, he switched from sliding to running. Making sure he wasn't going to hurt Edlyn, he plunged his dagger into the side of the beast.

(No worries, writing fight scenes is diffcult, though you did a good job.)
Grunting as she fell, Edlyn hit the incline hard as she tumbled towards the clearing. Her world became a disoriented blur of trees, ground, and sky as she fell; shielding the back of her neck and head in an effort to protect herself. Edlyn had long lost sight of the warg, distracted with her spinning vision and disoriented head. Squeezing her eyes shut did little to help with the dizzying fall, though it was better than getting them injured. Thorny vines tugged at her clothing, sticks painfully poked her skin, and rocks cut the back of her hands and exposed forearms as she continued to roll down the incline. Edlyn could feel dirt and debris digging into her hair, clothing, and skin, making the expierence all the more uncomfortable.
She eventually hit the clearing with a small thud, head spinning and winded. Edlyn desperately gasped for air as she struggled to breath. The woman began to heave before steadying herself and calming down. After a moment, she was breathing normally again and returned her attention to the current situation. She hoped her distraction didn't allow the warg to get the upper hand on her. As Edlyn's focus returned, she frantically searching for the beast. The warg was closeby and dealing with someone else. With determination on his familiar face, the blacksmith watched for a moment as the man fought the beast. Danir. Smiling, Edlyn forced herself to her feet, ignoring her pains. The extent of her injuries were felt, but there wasn't a chance to look them over. There were more pressing problems she was currently facing.
The elf continued to stab and slash at the beast as Edlyn staggered toward them. Neither seemed to notice her as she apporched. Gritting her teeth, the blacksmith watched as the creature took a few steps back; completely focused on Danir. With a growl, the warg lunged towards the elf. Edlyn--who was barely faster than the animal--burst forward and managed to hit its side. The warg whined in pain as it turned it attention towards the new target as she backed up to the other side of the clearing. The beast sized the two of them up as if deciding which was the easier target. After a moment it turned its attention to Edlyn, picking her out as the weaker of the two.
Despite her injuries, Edlyn made a dash for a nearby tree in hopes of climbing it before the warg could get her. She was hurt, but so was it. She could make it. Kicking up dust, the blacksmith tried to tune out the warg's barks as it gained ground on her. Ignoring all else, the blacksmith managed to make it to the tree. As she looked up for a good hand hold, she found the branches were impossibly high to reach. At any other time in any other condition, Edlyn could reach the safe refgue in the branches. Now, she wouldn't be able to reach them. Edlyn turned to face the monster, just in time to see the beast pounce on her. Pinned against the tree, the warg raked it claws across her stomach sending warm blood oozing onto her trousers. Edlyn gasped as her eyes went wide and free hand went to her stomach, unsure of what else to do.
She managed to shift her head away as the warg came in again, sinking its teeth into her shoulder. Edlyn cried out in pain as the warg backed off, leaving her to slide down the base of the tree. Slumped against the bark, the blacksmith's vision swam as she watched the warg lick blood-staind jaws. She gulped as she held up her sword in a last ditch effort of defense. Even in its weakened state the warg was still a danger. Glancing towards Danir, Edlyn hoped it was enough to at least get him out of the situation mostly unharmed.

Danir With // Where Danir was aware of the spot Edlyn had fallen. So he did his best to dance the warg away from the spot. The fall would have been rough for anyone, and without knowing if she was injured or not, he decided to not take chances. He would take the beast as far away from his friend as he could so she could make a break for it. His magic would put an end to it quickly, or at the very least wound it enough so it wouldn't follow them easily. However, before he could cast the spell that would send the flames, movement caught his eyes.
Edlyn had found her footing and had rushed the side of the warg. He grinned and a witty retort rose to his lips. We've got to stop having these moments, he thought, but didn't say it out loud. For as the blacksmith's blade found the creature's side, it refocused on her, and he couldn't steal her attention. Nor could he stop her from turning to run towards the tree. The woman gave chase, doing for him what he had been doing for her. No, no, no... He ran after them, seeing the distance she still had to make and the way the warg gained on her. Then watched in horror as the beast pounced, dealing the mortal wound to her abdomen and shoulder.
An furious snarl broke across his face as he flung out his magic. Fire leaped across the creature's back, hot and wild. The sudden pan made the warg howl in pain, stumbling away from woman as he tried to flee the assailment. He couldn't, for Danir, with all his training and will, kept the spell going, keeping the beast distracted as he got in close. Taking the dagger, the elf plunged the blade of his dagger into the side of the creature's head. He stayed only long enough to ensure it was dead before ending the spell and rushing over to Edlyn's side.
It was bad. The front of her clothes were drenched in blood. The air was thick with the tang of iron and charred fur, almost making his stomach churn. Though it was more of the fact that his friend was wounded more than the actual gore itself that didn't settle with him. "Edlyn?" he asked, kneeling beside her. Already his shirt was off, using the fabric to press against her stomach to try and slow the bleeding as best as he could. What did he do? He could try magic, but healing was never his strong point. He could heal minor cuts and bruises, but if he tried that now, she would still bleed internally. Baltore new more. He had to get Baltore. But how? He couldn't leave her here, and carrying her would mean he couldn't apply pressure to the wound. "Edlyn, talk to me. I need you to help me figure out what to do." And to keep her awake. Blood loss was no joke, and if she fell unconscious now, who knows if he would be able to wake her again.

(How have you been?)
Edlyn's head spun as she slumped aganist the tree. Her hand was still over the fresh wound, but her attention was drawn elsewhere. The blacksmith blinked a few times, taking in her surrondings but not processing any of it. She was only vaguely aware of Danir launching another attack on the warg. The warm, orange glow of fire flashed before her as the pair tussled in a confusing blur. Edlyn blankly stared towards them though she didn't know what exactly was going on. She knew they were fighting, but couldn't focus on what exactly they were doing. Eventually something...happened. It seemed the fighting was done, though the blacksmith couldn't be sure of the victor. She just continued to stare.
Suddenly, Danir was rushing to her side, frantically removing his shirt and calling out something. Her name perhaps? Blood continued to seep from the wound, soaking into her clothes. The elf joined her side and pressed the shirt aganist the wound. It should've hurt, she should've had some sort of reaction. Instead, Edlyn found herself unconcerned. Her mind dull, the blacksmith only spared her friend a passing glance before leaning her head aganist the treebark and staring up at the sky. As it spun above, she could her Danir speaking, though his voice was just a distant, jumble of words. As she stared above, she could hear her brother's words ring in her ears. Gut wounds are dangerous and painful. You bleed out slowly and it's not uncommon to find yourself heading into shock. If you ever expierence this--and I pray that you don't--don't panic and find something to focus on. Something to keep your mind clear and distracted.
Something to focus on. Something to focus on. She had to find something to focus on. What to focus on? Edlyn lethargically shifted her gaze across the clearing. Distant rocks and shrubs came into view--things of the natural world too small to properly concentrate on. She looked back up to the sky. It was an empty expanse of blue, the treetops framing its mesmerizing, endless depths. Edlyn slowly returned her attention back to the clearing and to Danir. Of course. Edlyn watched him for a moment. Her eyes widened slightly as her addled mind finally cleared and Danir's face finally came into focus. His green eyes had a desperate, frantic cast to them and his normally charming smile was replaced with a grimace. Edlyn locked eyes with him and smiled.
"That was kinda stupid, wasn't it?" Edlyn finally said. The woman softly chuckled, then cringed in pain. The beast had wounded her good. She pressed her bloodied hand aganist the shirt, trying to help keep pressure on the wound. Now that her mind was clearer, she could figure out how to help herself. What had Danir said beforehand? "We need to figure this out, right? Didn't you mention before that one of your brothers was a healer? Maybe...Maybe you can get them?? I can probably keep pressure on the wound if needed." Edlyn nearly winced at the thought. Danir's brothers--especially the twins--hadn't exactly been the kindest people. However, their options were limited and they needed anything they could get.
As her slightly dazed mind went through a few ideas, Edlyn's attention was drawn to the incline. A figure was carefully moving down, trying to remain hidden among the leaning trees, buried rocks, and thick shrubs. The blacksmith drew in a sharp breath as she realized who it was. Brysen. "Edlyn!" He called out as he rushed down the incline. It seemed he gave up any attempt at stealth as he was spotted. Edlyn looked behind him. Where were the others? Were they laying in wait nearby or just behind Brysen? The blacksmith turned her attention back to Danir.
"Run," she hissed. If the others were nearby, he would certianly be killed. She wasn't about to let that happen, assuming he could get to safety in the first place. She didn't wait to see if the elf had listened as Edlyn turned her focus back to Brysen. The swordsman was now only a few feet from the pair. "Where are the others?" Edlyn asked carefully.
"Right behind me," the man answered confidently. Despite his words, he kept glancing behind him. It was clear he was bluffing. "What happened to you? Was it that creature's doing?" Before Edlyn had a chance to answer, Brysen stepped forward, seemingly ready to strike at Danir at any moment.
"Please don't hurt him, he's helping me," Edlyn said quickly. That gave the man pause. He glanced between the two, but still held his defensive stance. "He's an elf, Edlyn. If he's helping you, it's only so he can ambush the rest of us. Or to place a curse on you. Or any number of twisted things."
"Brysen, th-that's enough. He's trying to help me, and he can't do that with-with you meddling. Now please, e-either help us or-or st-stop interfering." Edlyn's words coupled with her glare seemed to shut him up. He lowered his sword and stepped back.

Danir (I've beeeen good. BBusy, but things have been fairly good. How about you?) When he didn't get any replies right away, Danir cursed under his breath. Okay, Danir, think. THINKQ He had to get her out of this clearing. They weren't terribly far from where his brothers had made camp. If he ran without caring how much he jostled her, he could carry Edlyn to Baltor just in time. Or he could use a beacon spell. It might alert the humans tracking him as well, but it was a chance he was willing to take. With one hand pressing his shirt to the wound, he lifted the other and spoke a few words in his native tongue quickly. A small orb of light appeared, yet in the next second, it launched itself into the air. Once it was above the trees, it exploded into six different sparks, all racing in different directions. One would find his brothers, the others would fizzle out.
He watched them disappear, nearly jumping as he felt Edlyn's hand on his. Glancing back down, he saw her eyes were focused on him and she was talking. "Oh, by all the dead gods," he muttered, his attention fully on his friend once more. "It was very stupid, but it's going to be okay," he promised. "Baltor can help you. I know he will. He knows about all this kind of stuff. He'll be here soon, I promise." He hoped. "Just keep talking, please. Tell me-"
Footsteps sounded on the incline behind them. The elf glanced back to find one of the men hunting him was making his way towards them. Fear for himself could not be found. Sure, is life could easily be about to end, but he would give his life. There was no way he was leaving Edlyn's side right now.
Danir shot him a poisoned glare. "If I truly wished you harm, I would have lit this whole forest ablaze the moment you fools stepped foot into it," he snarled. "The only reason I didn't was because of Edlyn's presence among you. Now I have more pressing matters to wory about than your petty, judgemental opinions for me. My friend is in need of serious medical attention. If you're bent on killing me, then go on. Kill the one person who has any chance of getting her the help she needs before she dies a valient, couragious, honorable death. Be the coward who condemmed both of us because he couldn't put aside taught prejustices. And if you're too much of a coward to do that, than shut up and leave us be!"

(It was finals week and I finished them! But for my biology final, my laptop crashed and it was very stressful. However, I still got an 89 on it, so that's good.)
Edlyn Edlyn caught the end of Danir's spell, the bits of light fading from view as they headed to whatever targets he had decided. As Danir responded, the blacksmith managed to smile, glad to hear his voice clearly. He quickly explained how his brother--Baltor, the oldest if she remembered correctly--was expierenced in healing. That was good for her considering her current predicament. It was just a matter of him reaching his brother in time. As the elf continued to speak, he cut off almost immediately as Brysen appeared. The blacksmith stiffened, then carefully engaged the man. After the pair exchanged words and Brysen seemed to calm down, Danir spoke up. She had never heard him so angry, though of course they hadn't known each other for long. His words seem to make the swordsman pause, which seemed to be a good sign. Eventually, Brysen backed off.
Now that the situation had mostly calmed, the blacksmith could focus on more important matters. "Danir...when will y-your brother be here?" Edlyn mumbled. She didn't want to make Danir more worried, nor did she want him to feel guilty about the time it was taking. However, she wasn't sure how much longer she had to or could hold on for. At least Danir's presence was a comfort for the time being.
Brysen When Brysen entered the clearing, he didn't know what to expect. It certianly wasn't Edlyn up aganist a tree clearly wounded as the elf--who was shirtless--lingered nearby. A surprising mix of worry and anger hit him as he watched the pair for a moment. Was the elf bloodthirsty, taking advantage of Edlyn's injury to use some form of twisted blood magic? Did he get some sense of satisfaction out of seeing her in pain? Gritting his teeth, Brysen didn't intent to find out.
Edlyn told the elf to run--was that worry in her voice?--but the elf refused to budge, remaining firm by her side. As Brysen approched, sword tight in his grip, he began to form a plan of action. The elf would be tricky to deal with, but he would find a way. The only thing that gave him pause was Edlyn. She explained the situation and the two argued for a moment. Her final words followed by a glare made him stop and consider her words. Was that elf really trying to help, or was it all a ploy until he could find the right time to strike? With a quiet sigh, he stepped back and lowered his sword slightly.
Edlyn seemed satisfied with the resolution, but appearently it was the elf's turn to speak. His words dripped like snake's venom; harsh and angry. The more the elf spoke, the more diffcult it was for Brysen to fight the urge to dash over and pummel the bastard. How dare he accuse Brysen of being a coward after the stunt he pulled? Wasn't he the coward for running after causing panic at a festival meant for celebration and peace? The duelest nearly raised his sword again, but a quick glance at Edlyn gave him second thoughts as a pang of guilt hit his chest. The blacksmith had paled considerably, her speech became stuttered and slightly slurred, and he could see the clarity of her eyes fading. Annoying as she was, Edlyn certinaly didn't deserve to die. Though he wouldn't say it out loud, the elf also had a point. Whether he liked it or not, he wasn't helping the situation. Aganist his better judgement, Brysen finally sheathed his sword and stepped back to give the pair space.
Now to the side, Brysen pondered the elf's words. There was something to the way he spoke that the swordsman couldn't help but think about. The elf had sounded like her truly cared for Edlyn. Not only that, but he seemed to know her. How did he know her name? Did they become friends when the elf was posing as the human--Brysen hadn't been introduced, but had seem him from afar and heard his name in passing--"Davin"? Did Edlyn know that he... No, he wasn't going to think about that. Such thoughts would lead to danger. Not just for him, but for Edlyn especially. The two had turned their focus back to Edlyn's wound, each occasionally glancing up at him with wary eyes. Brysen shifted uncomfortably, though tried not to show it too much.
"The others actually aren't behind me," he admitted after a moment. Might as well fill the silence with something. "You...You better hurry, though. They're sending for reinforcements back at Willow Creek and I wouldn't want to be you when they get here."
Edlyn glanced at the elf before returning her attention to Brysen. "Co-Could you distract them if they-they get too close?"
"Distract them?! That's treason, Edlyn! If they find out..." Brysen trailed off. Now wasn't a time to argue. "I'll...I'll see what I can do."
(And surprise Brysen PoV.)

(My full rp post will be up later, but I do want to answer your question.
Yes, I am still interested in this. I apologize that I am slow to make replies here but I just dont want to produce crap posts. I feel like I have had a chance to develop Danir's character so much here that I don't want to just hastily write out something just for the sake of writing it I want it to be something you can both enjoy reading and have plenty for you to work with as well. And with an increase of work hours and other personal things going on, I will admit Danir hasn't gotten the attention he deserves.
HOWEVER! I really want to continue because I love these characters and what we've planned. I promise tonight I will have a super post for you, or at least one that will get them on their way to the elven city so we can get into the good stuff.
Again, I'm so, so, so, so sorry for the inconsistency, but I do enjoy doing with you and adore these characters. I truly want to see what we will be able to do with them, and I know that it's all on me that the progress has been so slow.)

(Firstly, sorry for being pushy, impatient, or even rude. I've had a lot of RPs I've been invested in fizzle out (admittedly, sometimes it's my fault), and wouldn't want to continue to pester someone who's no longer interested. If you were no longer interested or invested, I wanted to make sure I wasn't being obnoxious/rude/annoying. Truthfully, I should've been more patient because you being busy/unable to reply for a bit isn't really anything new.
Anyway, I completely understand wanting to develop Danir without rushing through a post or making it half-hearted. I have grown super attached to the characters as well and despite my pestering, I'm glad to hear your still interested and invested in the story. If you can reply tonight, great. But please don't force yourself to try and complete something if you can't/don't have the time or energy to. Considering I practically write a novel every reply/most replies, I would like to say again you don't have to match my length exactly or at all.
You don't need to apologize for the inconsistency. As I said, I was already aware replies wouldn't come immediately. I'm glad we had a chance to talk about this and I look forward to doing more in the future.)

Danir (Don'tworry about it! I have had the same thing happen to me, and it's horrible feeling to just have someone leave with no warning. So I try to do my best to first try and brain storm ideas to get muse following on both sides before calling it a lost case. So I appreciate you asking, as well ad you sticking with me through all of my inconsistencies.
And I will be making this post because Danir has finally gotten some attention and is blossoming with ideas. That and he's very invested in Edlyn's current state of health, lol.
I am too, and again, I really am sorry it takes me forever. You have all my permission to pester if I take more than a week to respond, lol. They were losing time. Every second the stood there bickering, the less time Edlyn had of surviving. The pressure he was applying to her wound would only go so far. Turning his back on the human, no longer considering him a threat. His focus was full back to his friend.
"They'll be here soon, don't worry," he assured, voice gentle and soothing. A complete 180 from the harsh tones in which he spoke to the other man. If his hands weren't covered in blood, he would have reached up to push the hair out of her eyes. He needed something, anything, to distract him from his rising panic and worry.
After what felt like an eternity, Danir heard the rush of footsteps through the forest. They weren't like the humans', heavy and careless. They were light and meassured, surefooted. Relief flooded through him as his three brothers came bounding down the ravine, weapons drawn. As expected, the twins swarmed Brysen, bows drawn and arrows nocked. Baltore, however, took stock of the scene and rushed to the place he was needed the most.
"What happened?" He asked his youngest sibling, speaking quickly in Elvish.
"A warg," Danir answered in kind. "She's lost a lot of blood. Bal, please, do something."
Baltore didn't answer. Instead, he removed Danir's hands so he could remove the shirt so he could see the damage for himself. It wasn't a good, but he had seen worse. It would take a lot of focus, but he could do it. "I apologize if this hurts," he told the woman before placing his hands on either side of her wound. Then began a steady, soft chant in his native language as he began the healing spell.

(Yeah, it does suck. Though the whole brainstorming thing is always a good idea. But yeah, I felt like it was important to ask instead of assuming and going on my merry way. That would've been rather rude.
Anyway, that's good. And yeah, I think we're all concerned about her current state haha.
Don't worry about it. Sounds like you've been super busy and real life always comes first. I hope things get better for you soon.)
Edlyn Danir's words were a comfort to Edlyn. She continued to concentrate on his voice and face, though her mind was growing fuzzier as time passed. The blacksmith wasn't sure how long it was until a small group of people entered the clearing. Was it the rest of her party? Edlyn's mind was slow in realizing it was Danir's brothers. Two of them focused their attention on Brysen while the third rushed towards Edlyn and Danir. The two began to speak in their native tongue, before turning their attention to her. Edlyn lethargically moved her hand from the wound, following Danir's movements, not quite sure what was going on yet.
The other elf said something to her, but the blacksmith was unable to make it out as her head continued to spin. She could feel him place his hands beside the injury and start muttering what her addled mind assumed was a spell. Edlyn's eyes widened in shock and she let out a sharp gasp. An icy, prickling pain shot through the stomach wound, causing her shoulders to tense and eyes to water from the pain. She could feel the cuts deep in her gut start to knit back together as some sort of healing spell was preformed. Edlyn could hear some commotion coming from Brysen's side if the clearing. She couldn't make out what was happening. She didn't care.
Edlyn was tired--completely drained after the chase and fight. She could feel her eyes growing heavy. Perhaps a little rest wouldn't hurt. Finally, the blacksmith closed her eyes and let unconsciousness take her.
Brysen Brysen continued to watch the pair uncomfortably, knowing deep down the treason Edlyn had committed. And now he had agreed to help, knowing full well what would happen if they were caught. The duelest pushed the thoughts from his mind; he needed to focus on the hurt woman and making sure she got the help she needed. There wasn't much he could do but stand out of the way. Things only got worse when more elves arrived. Three appeared in the clearing, two--who were obviously twins--pulled bows on him, ready to strike. The third man seemed to take note of the situation, rushing to the Edlyn and the other elf.
Brysen slowly raised his hands to the side, not interesting getting shot with an arrow. The two who watched him had a clear distain against him for whatever reason. Though he warily eyed the twins, he kept some of his attention on Edlyn and the others. He couldn't make out what the men were saying, and it would be impossible to move forward without getting punctured by arrows. After a moment, the new arrival leaned over Edlyn and began to do...something. He couldn't quite make out what was happening, but hoped it was a some type of healing. As he watched the trio, he heard voices in the distance. Brysen turned sharply towards the direction of sounds. It was the rest of the party coming to look for him and Edlyn.
He looked toward Danir, Panic rising in his chest. Unsure if the others could understand, he called out to the elf. "The others, they're coming!" He tried to keep his voice low, not trying to attracted Orvin's and the group's attention. "Focus on helping Edlyn, I'll...I'll distract them." His voice faltered slightly, knowing what he was about to do could get him executed. Slowly, he backed away, hoping the twins would let him do what needed to be done.
(So what should we do from here?)

Danir (Thanks, I would have done the same thing if it were the other way around. It's just much nicer to talk and leave no confusion and/or hurt feelings, though I'm sure I've done that more that I should here, haha.
It's a good thing we know she isn't going to die. XD
Yeah, it's been hectic, but hopefully it'll calm down soon. )
The amount of concentration it took for a spell of this level left no room for Baltor to try and comfort the woman. He knew it was unncomfortable, and painful, to be healed by magic. It wasn't an instant thing, but rather magic helpd to lead and speed up the body's natural healing process. So the injured person would feel the strain of what would have taken months to heal all rushed into a few minutes. So he left Danir to help keep her calm.
Danir didn't like seeing her in pain. While he knew she was in good hands, the cries of pain she gave, the way her face was too pale for his liking, it all made his heart twist in an painful and unwelcomed way. The youngerst elf took her hand in his and he gently used the back of his fingers (the parts that weren't as bloody at least) to brush her hair from her face. "Shhh, it's okay. I know it hurts, but it'll be over soon," he assured, not sure if she could even hear him at this point. Yet he contined to speak softly until his friend was overcome by unconscienceness. A new wave of panic surged through him, but Baltor had yet to finish the spell, so she must still be fine. If she had died, he would have none and ended his efforts. Now, Danir took the chance to look back to where the twins were still holding Brysen at arrow point.
"And you expect us to trust a filthy human like you?" Helwion, the blue-eyed twin, spat. "You'll probablly go bring them straight to us."
"Best to put an arrow through you and be done with it," Ezella, the hazel eyed twin, agreed.
"No, if we do that, it'll be things even worse," Danir said. As much as he loathed to leave her, the youngest elf stood to go stand by his brothers. He reached out and pushed away the arrow Ezella had trained of Brysen before looking at the man. "Go, distract them. Try to approach from a different direction and lead them around us. Give us twenty minutes, and we will be gone."
(Well, we can have them take Edlyn with them so they can care for her properly. Have them start making the trip back to the Evish city while the humans spead the rumors that the elves had kidnapped Edlyn.)

(Yeah, it never hurts to talk things out and double check things to avoid negative feelings.
Agreed! That would suck!
For your sake, I hope it does.)
Brysen The duelest glared at the blue-eyed elf who spoke, then turned his hard gaze to the other twin. "I don't expect you to trust me, but I assumed you'd be smart enough to realize I have no interest in giving any of this a way. After all, I would already be yelling for backup now instead of remaining quiet. Killing me is also a foolish idea." Brysen agreed to help the blacksmith, and wasn't going to betray that. Besides, if he did just that, Edlyn would kill him before he could be executed for treason. The man looked towards Danir as he apporched, not noticing the man before. Though he was still an elf, Brysen did feel a little relief that someone vouched for his life.
The elf pushed aside one of the arrows, and addressed the duelest directly. It seemed everything would fall on his shoulders. How exciting. "Seeing as I made a promise to already do so, I'll see what I can do. I can't ensure you'll get twenty minutes, but I can buy you some time." He paused and glanced at the blacksmith before snapping his eyes back to her elf friend. "Look, Edlyn may be annoying, obnoxiously stubborn, and frustrating at times...most of the time, but I would call her my friend. Just, make sure she makes it out okay, otherwise her restless spirits will haunt me for the rest of my days. Good luck." Brysen cautiously turned to leave, uncomfortably turning his back on the group.
He would find whoever had been sent to search for them, lead them on a wild goose chase, and present them the clearing. Hopefully the elves would be long gone, otherwise he wasn't sure what to expect when the humans and elves met. Maybe the elves aren't so bad after all, Brysen thought as he caught up to those who came searching for him and Edlyn.
(Sounds good to me. Should we go ahead and start that?)

Danir (Always a good idea with we can do that, but I'll let you know now that there's little you could do to cause any negative feelings. At least for me. And I give you full permission to let me have whatever negative feelings you might have if I ever do get on your nerves, lol.
And yes! I will go on and right the escape scene, and then we can time skip to whenever Edlyn comes to. ) Danir and his brother's watched Brysen leave in silence. When he was out of earshot, Helwion turned on him. "You're going to get us killed!" he hissed. "You're really going to beleive that human won't be here with reinforcements before we can get out of this ravine?"
"It's a risk, but I choice to believe that not everyone is out for blood," Danir replied with a glare of his own. Then turned and hurried back to Edlyn's side. She was still out cold, but the wound was starting to look a little less severe than it had when he had left.
"How much longer do you think you'll need?" He asked softly. He hated to bother Baltore, but as much as he hated to admit it, they wouldn't have twenty minutes to work and get out of there. If it took too long, then they would have to stand their ground and fight off the humans that would be here sooner or later.
Baltore didn't respond right away. Instead, he took another two minutes before he let out a heavy sigh and let him pause in his work. "The wound is deep," he replied. "This isn't something that should be rushed, but I have gotten the worst of it healed and slowed the bleeding. Yet even if I heal it all the way, I can't replace the blood she's lost. She'll need better medical care than what I can give her here."
"Then forget her," Ezella said. "Leave her to her kind and she can live or die by their hands. It's no matter to us."
"It matters to me!" Danir snapped at him, barely able to contain the mixture of anger and fear for his friend. He turned a pleading look to Baltore. "Please, Bal, I can't leave her. If they know she helped me, they won't save her. I can't let her die after all she's done for me. We have to do something!"
Baltor stared up into his baby brother's face. It was young and full of innocence that came from not yet experiencing the worst the world had to offer. How could begrudge him of this request. "Bring her with us. We'll get back to our cam where our horses are waiting. We'll put some distance between us and these humans, and I'll finish the healing."
Danir, with relief flooding through him, quickly and gently scooped the blacksmith into his arms. The twins started to protest, but Baltore silenced them. Now was not the time, and he would hear nothing more on the subject until they were safely away from here. And with that, the brothers hurried as quickly as they could through the forest, heading back to the strip of woods closer to Edlyn's home.

(I've been a bit busy the past few days, so sorry about the belated reply.
I have no negative feelings aganist you, nor have you gotten on my nerves. I appreciate you sticking with this despite the craziness of the last year and my prodding.
That works! Also, do you want me to go ahead and get up a starter for that? Also, also, should they have arrived at Danir's home? ai think we said it's about three/four days from the edge of the forest, but I don't remember.)

(You're all good!
I mean, I have prodded people before on plots too, so how can I be mad and leave when I have done the same thing? XD
Yes, his home is 3-4 days from the edge of the forest. With the amount of bloodloss she probably has, I think it would be reasonable that she be out of it for at least a day or two. So either you can have her wake up half way there, or when they get to the city. Either works for me. ^^ And it doesn't matter. If you want to start, go for it, if not, I'll work on it. I'll just need to know at what part in the journey she decides to wake up, so I can set the scene.)

(Haha fair enough.
Alright, sounds good. I'll probably have her wake up about three/four days later when they're about to reach the city/Danir's home. As for a starter, I'll try and get something up tomorrow(today?) or the day after.)

Slowly blinking herself awake, Edlyn was met with the surprising sight of the morning sky. Mind cloudy, she squinted at the blurry treetops as her vision came into focus. The blacksmith pushed aside a blanket--or perhaps it was a cloak--as she sluggishly sat up and brushed away hair from her face. Even without a mirror Edlyn knew it was a mess and probably a little tangled. Normally, she would just tie it back. She had nothing to tie it back with. For now, Edlyn would just have to wear it free. Unfortunately. Rubbing her eyes with the palms of her hands, Edlyn stretched as she continued to wake, noticing that her stomach was sore. It wasn't the mild pain that accompanied someone when they were sick or the kind she had expierenced the morning after a day of hard labor.
The blacksmith looked down. Dried blood stained the bottom of her shirt and the top of her trousers. There were rips in the clothing from...claws? Edlyn pushed the tatters aside to examine her stomach. A clean bandage was wrapped around the injury. Edlyn lightly brushed her fingers aganist it, curious for a moment. Hadn't she almost died? Suppressing a shiver at the thought, pieces of what happened were slowly coming back into memory. She and Danir had been at the festival. His disguise wore off in the middle of the crowd and a chase had ensued. The hunting party had come across wargs and were attacked. Edlyn had a dumb idea and was nearly killed from it. She had...gotten healed? Those last parts were still fuzzy, though Edlyn doubted they would ever become clear.
The blacksmith finally took note of her surrondings, inwardly crining as she imagined what Arlana would say if she had been there. She'd probably scold her younger sister for not assessing the area sooner. Of course, she would also probably scold Edlyn for harboring an elf in secret and potentially endangering an entire town by keeping him tucked away in her house.
Edlyn pushed away thoughts of her sister as she studied the area. She was in a small clearing somewhere in the woods. As she already established for herself, it was morning due to the cooler air--likely an hour or so after sunrise. If it were dusk, the heat wouldn't have had a chance to dispute yet even though autumn would be fully upon the land soon. Her sword was missing and for the first time, she noticed something was off about the surrounding wood. The trees seemed bigger and the foliage almost had an unnatural tint to it.
"Where am I?" She muttered quietly.
(Sorry for making Edlyn's post kind of vague and not really having her interact with anyone/anything. I hope this is enough for you to reply to, but if not, feel free to let me know and I can add or rewrite some things.
Also, I might add another thing to this later, but we'll see.)

Danir
Traveling had been mostly silent among the brothers. For the first three days, no one really talked unless there was something important to say. For Danir, it grated on his nerves a little. However, he knew it was warranted. Because of his actions and decisions, he had just brought trouble onto not only his head, but his brother's as well. To make matters worse, he might have only helped save Edlyn only to condemn her to death once more by bringing her all this way with her. Then again, he thought bitterly, she would have been condemned her even if he let her kind be the ones to find and aid her in her healing.
Baltore had healed the blacksmith to the point where she could be carried with little worry of opening her wounds. And carry was what Danir did. The only times he set her down was when they found spots to rest or make camp for the night. He didn't dare ask the others to take up the job. She was his friend, his responsibility. No matter how his arms might tire from the endless hours of hiking, he refused to let anyone take her from him. Having her close meant he could keep a constant eye on her condition. If anything went wrong, he would be able to alert Baltore then and there. So far, however, Edlyn had shown no signs of waking, no signs that she was aware of anything happening in the world around her. It took all his willpower not to constantly ask his eldest brother if there was anything they could do to rose her. Instead, he had to settle for waiting until the group struck up camp for the night and had food cooking before Baltore could properly look at her condition once more. Nothing had changed, and once more Danir took up his spot beside the young woman's pallet he made to watch her through the night.
When morning came around, it found Danir lightly dozing, his back against a fallen log and his chin resting against his chest. He slept poorly, but it took longer than it should have for him to realize Edlyn was awake. It wasn't until she sat up and spoke that he himself came to. "By all the dead gods!" he exclaimed in Elvish, quickly shifting forward so he could wrap his arms around his friend. "I was starting to worry you weren't waking up," he muttered, this time speaking so she could understand.
