Alma smiled with mock triumph as she said "Yes, my plans always prevail in the end." She then smiled mischeviously. "Don't worry though, I'll make sure you get something after I win~"
Tse-Tse nodded once before straightening up. She'd been there for a few hours, so she'd call it for now and take a break while she waited for the others to show up.

Roman was enticed, but then he shook his head, "wait no. Youre trying to make me want you to win." He snapped jokingly.
Krisharya bid them farewell by saying goodbye in english as well as putting her right fist to her heart, bowing her head slightly while saying something in her native language. It wasnt long though until Hakan came trotting up to where the others were set up on Loran, his mount.

Alma gave a look of mock surprise. "Ah, you've got me. The offer still stands though?" She smiled jokingly.
Tse-Tse was sitting with her group, talking with Llum when Hakan approached. They spoke a greeting of their own to him as he approached on his mount.

Roman scoffed, “are you kidding...hell yes.” He said with a laugh, “I mean who do you take me for?”
Hakan allowed Loran to greet the two. “Mother said you were making progress on the soils.” He said as he got off his mount.

Alma laughed at this. "Okay, okay, just making sure. Just making sure you're ready to lose." She was definitely determined to, one of these days.
Tse-Tse nodded once. "This is true. Nothing soon, but everything should be yielding reward with time, and correct care."

Roman smiled and nodded. It was then that two women with medical attire on came by with a badly wounded soldier on a stretcher. Roman watched the pass before sighing softly. “We should hurry and see the damages..” it was only a border attack but it still left some people killed or injured.
“Good.” Hakan said, “now, I was told I was to bring you to the grounds keeper, yes?”

Alma nodded in agreement. The attacks were becoming more frequent and severe with each report, and she was just waiting for something huge to happen at this point.
Tse-Tse hummed in response. "That is correct, so I can discuss that I have found. And i can also share with you later, should you still be interested."

Roman moved quicker as he weaved around a few clueless maids. They gasped and quickly moved once they noticed him. Roman shot them a slug warning look as he continued on. They were joined by a small group as always as the two made their way out to the stables.
Hakan nodded, “I’d love to hear if you’d give me the information as well.” He said. “Come, have you brought mounts? We can either walk or ride since the owner isn’t far.”

Alma raised a brow at the maids as they passed. She just wanted to assess the damage done to her people already. "It has been a while since we've had to worry about injuries," she muttered. And they hadn't actually gone through a full-on war before, which is what she was sure this would all turn into.
Tse-Tse nodded when he said he'd like to learn what she concluded. She then said "We can walk, if you don't mind." He people used mounts, and they had brought some, but they also did a surprising amount of walking back home when patrolling, traveling, etc.

Roman sighed and shook his head, “I’ve seen worse.” He said simply, “there’s a lot you don’t know about me huh?” The words were cold, but they reflected hurt. He then sighed after they got on their mounts, “I was only sixteen.. I had a girlfriend at the time. Parents choice not mine. I’ve told you about her. Anyways. There was that argument that lead to fight with another kingdom from the north. Remember that?” He asked thoughtfully. “You’re right it wasn’t a full on war. I messed up so horribly we didn’t get the chance to make it one. My father thought it was a good idea to give me my first command. He assumed I was to be wed soon and thought I was a good exercise to give me my first command. I led my men straight in to a massacre... those memories still haunt me today. Being out on the battle field with them and seeing everything fall apart around me. Your father or mother probably remembers it.”
”Lets go for a walk then huh?” Hakan offered. He decided to lead Loran next to him.

Alma listened quietly, frowning slightly. "You couldn't have known it would be a massacre. Not everyone makes good decisions every time either. Something like that though, you were young. Not much experience, and I'm sure you learned from it."
Tse-Tse nodded, Llum moving to follow them. The pup was also there, sniffing at Hakan for a moment before bounding circles around them and barking happily.

Roman nodded, “I experienced brutal deaths that day. And I learned how to fight through the loss of a friend. I also learned that you have no control over what happens during the actual battle part no matter how much you’ve planned or trained.” He then paused to think for a moment before saying, “but most importantly that was the moment I realized that my people were looking up to me to help and protect them. So I had to hold my head high and deal with the shame of the loss.” Roman said simply, “I had to fix my image... when I actually courted you it was a major boost on my good image. A lot of people liked our chances of ruling successfully together. Did you know that?”
Hakan smiled softly while Loran grunted softly, trying to track where the pup went. It wasn’t long until they were at the house of the groundskeeper. The man was a cervitaur, which basically means he was a mix between a deer and a human. He was the product of another mutant situation in the mixing of this kingdom. He smiled, and bowed respectfully upon seeing them. “I’ve been expecting you.” He said calmly, “come in. I’m ready to be scolded.” He said in a light hearted tone.

Alma raised a brow at that last part, finding it a little hard to believe. "I didn't. I would've thought they'd be too busy talking about why you didn't marry some other royal, honestly." Plenty of other kingdoms probably would have. "Some still think you've got to be born into royalty to do the duties properly."
Tse-Tse just stared, mainly because her face, save for her eye, was hidden behind the mask. "I have much to say," was all she responded with. Llum just followed her in, having to bend a little to actually get past the door. His ears swiveled around as his head angled slightly downward due to being unable to look around anyway.

Roman cleated his throat, straightening up as he let out a breath. “She was one of those who died.” He said simply before trotting ahead a little faster, blinking a few times to hold emotions back. “That’s why we aren’t on good terms with her kingdom. Not because I dumped her. Because I allowed their only child to die.”
Hakan laughed however so things weren’t awkward. He then tied up his mouth securely before joining them inside. The man offered them a place to sit before taking his own seat.

Alma raised a brow. She never understood the grudge of "letting someone die", and found it silly in some cases. She knew saying something about it wouldn't be good though. "Maybe at some point we can reach out again, soon. As much as a grieving parent has a right to, well, grieve, times like these do not allow anyone to hold grudges outright."
Tse-Tse sat down easily, while Llum kinda had to feel the seat a bit before sitting down. The pup decided to sniff around though, exploring the new area but actually being careful not to break anything or knock things over.

“Maybe..” Roman said, “I doubt it. I’ve tried to get their forgiveness. But it hasn’t worked so far..” he said softly. “Just remember though during this battle that is to come. Everyone is watching and depending on you as a royal. We have to make the right decisions. Even more so than usual. And that starts with not holding grudges against possible allies.” Yes, he was going to be petty and bring that up again. By then they had reached the sight and Roman got off of his horse to see the damages.
Hakan made sure everyone was seated nicely before sitting in his own chair, his posture almost perfect. “So?” The man asked, flicking his ears towards the two outsiders.

Alma tsked. "Hold grudges hardly matters, unless you make it a mission to let it get the best of you." She had her grudge, but she wasn't stupid. She had gone quiet by the time they reached the scene though.
Llum just let Tse-Tse speak, listening patiently as she casually went over what conclusions she had come to and how to best approach the soils from now on. "It will take time due to the nature of what you have to work with, but nothing impossible."

Roman sighed softly. Women. Was all he thought. He was beginning to think he should just give in and let her have her glory. Roman walked forward, Alma at his side and the guards behind them.
The cervitaur nodded slowly, “I see..” he said as he took down the last of the notes. He had come into their meeting prepared. “Well I’ll try my best to make those changes. I’ll report back after the first plants grow past seedlings.” He told them, “does that sound alright?”

Alma just ran a hand through her hair, just wanting to go about what they were there for.
Tse-Tse gave a simple nod. "That sounds good. Hopefully there will be something to harvest in time. I will also arrange to have more seeds sent if needed, for trade I'm sure."

Roman looked ahead, address the other in change there, telling him to tell him exactly what happened. The man bowed a little before explaining there was a surprise attack during the night on one of the border patrols. It happened really fast and left one dead and the rest injured.
“That would be greatly appreciated.” The man said with a nod, “thank you.” He then thought of something, “while you’re here would you like me to grab you anything to eat or drink? I’m sorry I forgot to ask before.”

Alma listened silently, brow furrowed as she did. She just wished there was an easier way to deal with these creatures, and things were only going to get worse from there!
Llum's ears swiveled forward at the mention of food, and Tse-Tse said "If it is something small, it would be appreciated. We can't reveal our faces around others." Her people usually did most of their eating alone, or with those they were in a relationship with.

Roman was quiet before saying, “Alright... From now on no border patrols past the gates, but out string protection around the border if the kingdom behind our protective walls and such. We can basically give them a free entry.” He stated, “and you get any reports of seeing those animals you come straight to one of us.” He said in a stern voice.
“We can leave the room if you both would like.” Hakan offered. “Or I can wrap it up for you guys are in private. You must have some of this pie my wife made earlier though.”

Alma then thought aloud "We should probably change where our scouts are going as well. Reports of their death or missing tend to come up in the same spots, now that I think about it. And if scouts don't come back, sending more to go see what happen isn't a logical idea to maintain at this point." They would simply have to cut their losses in some areas until they had a better plan.
Llum's ears stayed angled forward at the mention of pie, and Tse-Tse said "If you could wrap it up for later, that would be good. We'd hate to have the host clear out of a room just for us."

Roman nodded in agreement, “I think that’s the most logical idea.” He said, “we’ll have to rework the whole schedule then though. Or at least the night one.” Different posts meant different times that the area would be darkest.
The man shrugged, “I wouldn’t mind.” He went about wrapping up three pieces though. Hakan smiled and thanked him. He looked to the other two, “as thanks here we do a similar thing to our bow.” He explained. “Take your right hand and make a fist. Then tap the palm of your hand against the center of your chest. After you may accept the food. You may also say thank you with it. If you do it with your left hand it means no thank you.” After he explained he demonstrated and took his price of pie. The cervitaur responded with a respectful bow for his prince, his right hand in a fist to his heart as he went down on a knee. He then went to the other two.

Alma nodded in agreement. "More attention should be turned west as well, since apparently that's where a bit more attacks than usual happen. Maybe there could be some useful information to cultivate there."
Tse-Tse and Llum listened carefully before doing as instructed. Tse-Tse then took her piece of pie, and Llum also took his piece with a quiet thank you, an ear twitching as he smelled the treat.

“We should warn the other kingdoms. I’m sure they’ve been under attack too. And if not we should prepare them for future attacks.” Roman said, “I have a messenger bring word of this to the nearest kingdoms that we are in alliance with.”
Hakan soon stood, telling them they should meet with Makya sooner rather than later. The cervitaur bowed once more to his guests saying they were welcome any time.

Alma hummed in response to this. "I'm sure some of them have already been attacked, so reaching out to them would be good. It'll be good to exchange knowledge, if they have any."
Tse-Tse and Llum just nodded, thanking the cervitaur before turning to go. The pup bounced after them, barking happily.

Roman nodded. He then sighed, “and of course we will have to hold a knight’s burial for those we have lost.” He said.
The cervitaur bowed his head as they left, smiling softly. Once outside, Hakan happily greater Loran, the Tihona also moving to nuzzle Tse-Tse and Llum on their way over. Her tail flicked as Hakan unhooked her from a post and began to lead them to a large barn like facility. Once they reached the place, Makya was waiting with open arm and a large smile. “Hello friends.” He looked to the pup, taking out the same herb as before, crouching down and holding it out to him, “hello little one.”

Tse-Tse and Llum greeted Makya as the pup sniffed him curiously, but only for a second or two before trying to take the herbs from his hand. He was careful about it though.

Roman looked around at the damages once more before ordering to the one in charge, “have the ground cleaned of blood and make the necessary repairs. Be inside the kingdom wall before sundown though, even if the job isn’t complete.”
Makya smiled softly as the herb was taken. He then stood, “follow me. I’ll show you to where we keep our mounts.”
