Alma smiled at Roman, saying "I still had tons to learn and train for though. Potential only gets you so far." Magna then said "Well, I'm glad you two are doing wonderful as rulers. There are plenty of other kingdoms that have... questionable leaders."

Roman smiled, bowing his head a little, “thank you.” He said, “I always try to be my best for the kingdom.”

Alma's parents smiled at that, and Alma said "Well, I'm sure the majority agrees that you're doing well, but we'll all have to work a little harder soon now."

“Yep. And then after we’ll have to work on having an heir so that this kingdom is able to stick around another generation.” Roman told her softly.

That was when Magna spoke up, saying "Ooh, you're considering kids? You make sure to bring them by, or we can go see them!" She looked excited at the thought as Richard said "This is a long ways off, Magna, and I'm sure we won't have to worry about them keeping the kid from us."

“Yes, we are waiting until after the war. No sense in putting Alma and the baby in danger during battle.” Roman said, “and yes of course you’ll be able to visit all the time. And we’ll make visits to you as well. You will be the baby’s grandparents after all.”

Richard and Magna smiled, and Alma said "Roman is right. We wouldn't keep you from the baby." Or babies, if they had more than one? She smiled a little to herself. "It'll all have to wait though, yes. Until after we get through this war. It'll be nice to have a little one running around the halls though."

Roman nodded at the last part, “Yep. Maybe a little stressful at times, but I think it’s imperative they are mostly cared for by us. I know first hand how disappointing it can be when you can’t hang out and bond with your patents some days.”

Alma nodded in agreement, saying "Yes, I don't think I'd be able to let someone else raise our kids more than us." Luckily, her parents basically had her around all of the time while she was growing. "I'm sure Roman wouldn't want that either, obviously."

“I fully agree, although the maids and caretakers and tutors would make sure our child was in good care, they can’t beat at least having their mother around. That’s a bond that’s hard to replace.” Roman added in. “And I’m more than willing to take double the work when Alma needs the time with our kid.”

Magna then told Roman "Don't take on too much though, when you do get around to those kids. It'll do less good than not." Alma nodded in agreement, saying "She's right. You don't need to be stressing yourself out more than you already do sometimes."

“Hey, I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do to provide for both my family and my people.” Roman said with a shrug. He was never one to admit when and when he didn’t need a break.

Alma raised a brow. "But you have the habit of taking on a lot of work sometimes. I do too, but it's mostly you." She cracked a smile in amusement. "Just remember you've got help, alright?"

"I will. OF course I wouldnt want to pile anything on to you either." Roman pointed out. That would just be rude of him to do.

Alma nodded once. "I know, but I'll have to take on a lot sometimes. I don't like seeing you get as swamped as you do sometimes."

“Well how about this.” Roman said, “after this war and the aftermath is settled we will go on vacation. Just the two of us.” Roman suggested. Plenty of time for baby making then too.

Alma smiled at that and said "Deal. I think we'll both be in need of a vacation after all of this, after we process we're not dead." Magna then smiled teasingly at the pair, saying "Ah, and maybe that vacation will lead to some kids?" Richard chuckled at his wife's hopeful expression. Alma smiled in amusement before saying "Maybe. We'll see what happens."

Roman smiled and shrugged to Alma. He then looked to Richard and Magna and nodded with a small mischievous smile.

Richard smiled in amusement. "Well, everything will happen on its own. Not that I'd be opposed to some grandkids soon! After this whole ordeal passes."

“Yes. I would also like you two to stay safe during this war. We need you both alive and helping organize and strategize during battle. We can’t have our general and us doing it alone.” Roman added, “no risking your lives right of the bat you hear me? That means no front line business.”

The two nodded, and Richard said "Very well. We'll try to keep to the shadows for now, and we're always around should you need our council." Magna nodded again in agreement before saying "You're able to come see us whenever you need."

“Thank you for the hospitality.” Roman said happily, “over the years of me being a prince while I was dating Alma sometimes staying here got me through some of the worst stresses back at the castle.” He sighed a little, smiling at the memories. He was smiling both at the silliness of his and his parents fighting, or that he let so much get to him as a kid, as well as at how kind they were to him despite apparently not approving of him at first.

Richard smiled at this. "I know we were probably a little... wary of the idea at first, but what parents aren't really. Getting to know you though, that dispelled our worries quickly. You and your family are nothing like some other royals. The royals and nobles of Rymore are quite rude."

“It’s important that we are humble. We earn the respect of our people in a fair way rather than one that’s forced.” Roman said simply. “Helps to ensure they’ll have your back if anything happens.”

Alma nodded in agreement before saying "Hopefully it will be easier to band together for the war though, even with settlements we have differences with. I doubt the creatures who want war will spare anyone."

“We need all the power we can get. And that power comes from allies.” Roman agreed. “Hence why we had those meetings.”

Richard spoke up to say "Of course, of course. Without allies, this place wouldn't last long whether we are strong or not. It's majority humans here, and were not as durable as a lot of other creatures."

“Of course we aren’t. Our bones are easy to break since they have no protection.” Roman said, “but I’m glad we have the guides on our side.” He added.

Magna then said "I think we all are glad. They don't have to help us, yet they choose to. Against one of their own nonetheless. It'll still be difficult though."

Roman nodded, “yes, though I still wonder why they’d favor us humans over the other kingdoms. Doesn’t make sense to me.” He said, looking down in thought.
