Nim glanced back at Dakota. "Someone's happy, hm?" Well, so was he. He then asked "So... how do you think Roman and Alma will react to... you know?" What it was that Dakota planned on telling them.
Alma joined Roman, looking around. Her parents lived elsewhere than the Arena, surprisingly. It wasn't a grand estate, as they didn't necessarily like to flaunt their money, but the home was up in the well-off district. You tended to make money off of the only place for fighting in the capitol.

Dakota sighed saying, “I’m... not sure. I’ve tried to make it obvious lately, and I think they’re catching on some.” He sighed softly, “I just hope it doesn’t change our relationship.”
Once Alma got out of the carriage he linked arms with her and led her to the entrance of building.

Nim nodded slowly. "I'm sure nothing will change really. Especially if you think they're catching on."
The door was opened for them, the servant greeting them with a bow before informing them they'd be met in a moment as they hurried off.

Dakota nodded a little. “Part of me what’s you to be there, but I need to do this alone.” He said softly. He casually looked around, though a subtle look of anxiety was on his face.
Roman Howe’s his head a little, smiling to Alma and kissing her cheek as they waited.

Nim looked a little unsure. "If that is what you want, then you should. You'll be fine."
Alma's parents eventually came out to greet them. Despite living in a wealthy district, they dressed rather commonly. The two smiled brightly upon seeing the pair. Her father, Richard, practically grinned as he said "Hello, you two! It's been a while!"

Dakota nodded. “I just need you there afterwards in one of our rooms for me to love on.” He said simply.
“Good morning!” Roman said happily, “it has. We are long overdue for a visit. Though our apologies for dropping in so suddenly.” He told them, doing a polite bow.

Nim purred softly. "I'll be there for you."
Richard shook his head. "Nonsense, no need to apologize! You're welcome at any time. Come, let's go sit so we can talk."

“Good.” Dakota said. “I knew you would.” He then paused before saying, “well, I think I should be off to survey the land like I said I would.” He said as he hopped off of the tiger again.
Roman smiled a little at their kindness, following close behind them as they went to sit.

Nim smiled slightly. "Alright... I'll see you soon." He crouched a little to gently nuzzle the bird, purring quietly.
As the group settled down, Alma's mother, Magna, looked between them before asking "So, what is it you two are visiting for?"

Dakota churred loudly as he gently pressed the top of his head against Nim’s cheek, his feathers fluffing up happily. “Softie~” he said before going to a ledge, taking off without a second glance.
Roman made sure no other onlookers were around before saying, “we’d like to discuss battle strategies with you. We also need to recruit some more men.. we were hoping you could help us with both.” He explained, “I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors correct?...”

Richard nodded once, saying "Yes, we have. We can directly supply you with some more soldiers, but we can also point you to where you can find some out of the kingdom."

Roman nodded, “yes, both would be greatly appreciated.” He told them. “We were apprehensive to recruit from town since we such a small nation. Recruiting a large portion of our people could lead to devastating consequences.”

Richard shrugged, saying "Doesn't make a difference to have a home if no one can defend it. You might need to recruit more than you'd like."

Roman helper a straight face, not wanting to back talk his father in-law even though he had every right to. As if he didn’t already know this. “This is why I’m reaching out to you before I make any moves. We just see what we’re working with while we try to train some of the villagers.”

Richard nodded slowly. "Yes, of course. There are quite a few people from the Arena who could pass as an actual soldier... and make sure to scour both poor and wealthy districts alike. As for how to combat these fiends, it'll of course require strategy over numbers. Assuming the tales of such armies are true."

“Yes there will be many. The guides have already warned us of such. If I’m being honest it may over take our people even if we out in all our force.” He said in a quieter voice.

Alma frowned a little at that, saying "If we fight hard enough, maybe we can win this. Get through it somehow." Losing was not an option for them really.

Roman nodded in agreement, “that’s exactly right. We can’t give up before the fight has even started.”

The others nodded in agreement, and Richard said "Just keep in mind that you will never have the numbers. However, numbers aren't always what wins the battle. Playing smart is what will help you dearly."

Roman nodded, “I will keep that in mind. I know I can get overwhelmed with not having enough and miss the fact that battles are not won just by strength alone.”

Alma then said "The people here are resilient. Even if we don't have numbers, we'll find a way to overcome it all." Hopefully. Richard nodded once while saying "Agreed. Everyone who is able will hopefully come together and help."

Roman nodded, “well, now that we have that out of the way I will be expecting a report of your progress with these said recruits every time every other day.” He told them sternly. “And be aware of agents and spies from the other side. We also know they can use the minds of other hosts from what we’ve experienced.” He then seemed to relax a little, “and not that that’s done. We must catch up some more.”

Magna and Richard both nodded in agreement with Roman. "Well," Richard said "I'm sure we'll do all we can to aid the crown as well as family, yes?" He smiled a little before nodding again. "Yes, yes we must do some catching up. Are you two hungry? Are those cooks there feeding you right?" Alma rolled her eyes a little, saying "We're fine, father."

Roman smiled in amusement, “they’d be fired if they weren’t up to par.” He told them.

Alma nodded in agreement with Roman, and Magna said "True. We haven't had to fire our cook, but hiring one was madness." Mainly because Alma's mother was the pickiest person when it came to cooking, which she did herself even after getting married. Richard made a face at the chaotic memories, saying "I still remember half the candidates practically scurrying out of the house."

Roman chuckled at the thought. “I’ve had the same cooks from when I was little. As long as they keep my parents happy I’m fine with them. Of course I have hired new ones since I’ve met Alma. Like, how I hired two new chefs to work on the cake Alma and I agreed on alone.” Roman usually wasn’t the type to do stuff like that, but he had to make sure everything was perfect for their wedding.

Alma smiled fondly as she briefly recalled their wedding day, and Richard couldn't help but grumble a little. Magna rolled her eyes at Richard, saying "Don't start with that. It's been years."

Roman raised an eyebrow, “and here I thought you were fond of me, Mr [last name] (sorry I don’t think you ever specified her maiden name.” He said to Richard, feeling a bit worried suddenly.

(Oop, did i not? Last name can be Adisa, hopefully I remember xD)
Richard smiled sheepishly. "Ah, I'm just remembering when I admittedly didn't like you. What father first likes any man trying to court their daughter? Or anyone trying to court any of my kids." He chuckled. "When I actually got to know you though, that all cleared up obviously."

Roman smiled a little at the second part. He then sighed, “I’m just glad my parents accepted Alma and didn’t push for me to marry some snobby prince or princess of another kingdom. I guess they saw how much a cared for her, and how much potential she could have as queen.” Roman looked to Alma with a fond expression.
