Richard shrugged, saying "I don't know about favor. Pity, probably. We're the weakest species amongst the kingdoms of the world."

“Maybe. Or it could just be that we are the side opposing Olgrin. It could be one of those situations where an enemy of your enemies is a friend.” Roman said, slouching back a little casually in his chair.

Magna looked sheepish. "I'm sure they have their reasons for helping us. I just hope everything pays off eventually. We'd probably worse off without their help."

“Keep your enemies rich and your friend rich and find out which is which.” Another voice said. It was a man who somehow managed to get into the room without being noticed. He was wearing dark clothes and black paint going across his dark blue eyes. He also had one bleeding cut going under his right eye onto his nose. He did a wobbly bow, “my apologies your highnesses. I got lost and I happened upon this room. You’ll be needing to find a new welcoming party though, the guards you had were rubbish.” He said. It was then was noticeable that he was holding a pair of katanas, not seeming to be done by any of the blacksmiths in the kingdom, as he turned they caught in the light revealing the red blood dripping off of them. “I’ll be on my way. That is, unless you want some more backup. But I do have warn you. I came here for something, and I expect to have that thing before I help you.” It was as if he expected the king and queen to just bow at his feet after that.

((It’s just a man who is the son of another group of humans and mythical creatures. More like a tribe of sorts who live a while away in the woods. They want to help, but this interaction was not planned. Is that alright?

(No that's fine, I'm curious :3)
Alma arched a brow. "Oh? And we're just supposed to give you what you want, despite not knowing who you are and seeing you covered in blood like you are?" She'd seen much worse, so she wasn't immediately alarmed by his appearance at least.

“Well, if I’m honest I wasn’t intending to overhear this conversation.” He approached them, simply wiping his blooded blades on a fabric that he got from the satchel that went across his body. He then put them back in their holster. “And it’s not what I want to take.. it’s what I’ve already gotten that I want to be able to get away with it’s not much.” We’ll it was, but he this bag had magic that made it look like it could only hold a small amount of things. He paused as Roman stood, holding out his hand. “Not so fast. You haven’t heard my side of things. I am part of a tribe a long way from here with mixed people from all of your puny kingdoms. We comes in at least a few thousands. I will not tell you the location until I know you are loyal, but I will tell you that we are powerful. Almost everyone has trained since they were kids to fight. We have advanced weaponry as well. If it is a matter of war between the guides I am sure that my tribe will be more than willing to fight for the right side, the good side. That is you.. right?”

Alma scoffed. "You seem to forget who you're talking to. Just because you claim to have the resources you do, does not mean we will bend the knee. You'll either help us in our problem, or fend for yourself. It's not a matter of us choosing sides. The army that threatens Bryghtwood threatens all kingdoms. Death to all things is what awaits if we spend our time as you do, essentially demanding we hear you out and treat us like we are possibly the enemy." She studied him, eyes narrow as Richard said "Sit. I request you put what you take back. If we can arrange something, on a better foot, I assume the payoff will be more than some trinkets you found."

The man couldn’t help but laugh, “you think you’re someone to me? You hold no status over me just like how I don’t hold any status over you.” He snapped. He didn’t make any move to come sit, “I am not here to make deals. That’s not my mission. My father would already be mad if I said I mention my people to you.” He then took out one of their more valuable daggers to make his case more believable and threw it to the ground in front of the group. “Like I said, nothing much. Needed it to make duplicates.” That was only something he grabbed on the way out of raiding their entire infantry. Upon closer inspection, you could see this man wasn’t completely human, mainly by his sharp fangs. He was a hybrid of sorts. “My people will not be coming here unless needed. You must trust me in making a trip to my tribe. I will not play messenger.” He looked to Alma’s parents, giving a small smile, “don’t worry. I’ll have your daughter back by eleven.” He said in a joking voice. That’s when Roman grunted and stood, taking a few steps towards the man.

Alma scoffed. "Trust you? You come to our land, to my blood's home and take things. And you likely have spilled blood on our soil. I have no reason to trust you. At the very least you'll put back the stuff you stole before I even consider hearing you out." She wasn't going to do what he said after what he'd done. "I've encountered much worse people than you, I'm pretty sure, so there's very little you can do as of now to make me even consider going anywhere on your word."

“Well there’s no hiding the bodies outside is there. I know their lives didn’t mean anything to you though.” The man said simply. “And I’m not the first nor the last who will kill and steal from you. You just have never noticed until I decided to make you notice me.” He sighed, “call your husband off and I’ll further talk business. But there is little I can do.” He then looked as more guard cams running in. Reinforcements. “Seize him.” Roman said simply. The man unsheathed his katanas.

Alma shook her head to Roman. "Don't." She studied the man. "Sheathe your weapons. Put back what you took. Then we'll talk. There really is no other way to go except killing our guards, which will further give us reason not to trust you. Simple as that. And then you will be left fending for yourself. Bryghtwood will not ally with you, and neither will any of the other founding houses as soon as this gets out. Though you apparently don't need us, since your people are so much more, hm?"

The guards stopped advancing at Alma’s word. The man let was quiet for a long moment before sheathing his katanas. He threw the bag down before saying, “everything is in there you’ll see. I just need the bag back.” It was his father’s who got it from his father before him.

Alma just took the bag. She simply removed everything she was sure belonged to her parents, letting them sort it out before walking over to the guy. She held out the bag to him. "Now we can talk, though I'm pretty sure we won't get anywhere so soon." She was still suspicious. She didn't like associating with outlying settlements, and then those beyond, but she wasn't going to immediately condemn anyone at that time.

The man took the bag from her, meeting her gaze with his own challenging blue one. He then went to sit down, holding back all the things he’d like to say to them. “Like I said our tribe has heard about this problem and we’d like to help.. but with this happening I’m not sure how things will roll over with my father.”

Alma shrugged. "We don't care what you or your father think. As of now, your people should be our enemies. However, we have more pressing matters. Sneaking in and stealing is not the best way to show you want to help." She sat back down, motioning for Roman to settle as well. "We were going to reach out to other settlements anyway, sending scouts and the like. We all have the same enemy, so we are looking for peace for now."

Roman sighed and sat down again. “I didn’t want to help until a few moments ago to be fair.” The man pointed out. “What needs to be negotiated?” He said simply, “I’m telling you my people can’t get here. They won’t want to. We’ll have to either meet half way or you’ll have to make the trip there.”

Alma shrugged. "Fine. We can meet at the location Bryghtwood decides. I've got just the place in mind, where neither of us would have any environmental advantage at least. And neither of us will bring more than... six people. Since your people will refuse to come here, we will refuse to go to you."

The man thought for a moment before saying, “fine. Sounds fair enough.” He then sighed, “but if you attack my people we have every right to kill you and your group.” He just had to put that out there to make sure they knew they weren’t completely exposing their necks. “Give me your location. We will meet there this Friday. 5:00 sundown.”

Alma nodded once. "Deadlock Mountains." She didn't bat an eye as Magna and Richard made a wheezing noise. Deadlock Mountains was a territory where people from all walks of life just, well, didn't go. It was almost like an unspoken rule, since entire armies have gone there and never came back before. Basically no one knew what was actually in the territory. Now, Alma was technically telling a little fib while suggesting it. Her mother had been born there. Magna knew those lands like the back of her hand, knew the people, knew the danger. Not that she would be going. However, Alma had only been there twice, and would bring no advantage to the six she planned to bring. "Not actually getting too close, but there's a lake on the west end. We can go there." Even then it was probably dangerous, but if they stayed away from the actual border, they would be fine.

The man thought for a moment before saying sheepishly, “May I see a map? I don’t know that place..” he admitted. Roman nodded, waving his guards over to lay out the map they had on them. The man looked down at this, then up at Alma.

Alma hummed. "Not many people do. Just that it's there. All I'll say is that make sure you steal from anywhere else besides there." Well, outsiders wouldn't make it five feet across the border usually, but still. Heck, if Alma and Roman weren't going to the meeting, everyone else would be killed despite that lake being outside of the border.

The man nodded slowly. “You better make sure you aren’t leading my group to our deaths. If we die my people will make it their mission to make sure your people suffer just like the other side intends.”

Alma cracked an odd smile. "You really underestimate Bryghtwood then. You aren't the only might out there. Remember that." She studied him. "And, bring food. Preferably fruit. The most exotic you can find. My people will be doing the same." It was to have a sort of... offering. In case they were bothered.

“I’m just saying.” The man said, putting his hands up. Why exotic fruit? Seems you may have the territorial advantage in the sense that you know what’s there huh.”

Alma shook her head. "I don't, actually. Just because I know where something is, doesn't mean I'm the expert on it." She studied him. "Our court physician has met some of them, apparently. There is a space about an hour east of Deadlock's border rich with herbs that every doctor dreams of. Our court physician made the trek there one time to get some Grayroot Tears for Bryghtwood when there was an illness going around, and encountered some of them. Says they probably would have killed him had he not had the fruit that he did. Their curiosity saved him." Perhaps they recognized the satyr needed the herbs for others rather than personal gain or something. "It is a bit of a whim, but sometimes whims work."

Alma simply gestured to the map, inviting him to take it. She then nodded once. "I'd say it was nice to meet you, but let's be real. We both dislike each other at the current moment." Still, she cracked an amused smile.

The man have an annoyed smile. He rolled up the map and put it in his magic satchel. He then turned,’opening the door revealing the bloody mess and many bodies of guards scattered around the floor. “Clean up on isle five.” He said as he left.
