Ducky took the sweater softly from Aisling. He was going to protest, she needed it more than he did but she was gone off into the living room. "Thank you, good night." Ducky looked down at the sweater it was well used kind of like most of his own sweaters and pants. With a soft sight he leaned back, placing the sweater under his head and stared up at the blurry ceiling. Ducky watched a couple shadows casted by the full moon dance across the ceilings blurry surface. Soon the dancing shadows blurred into nothingness and Ducky fell into a deep sleep.

While Aisling was talking with Ducky, Parker had made his way toward the couch, seating himself down on it almost tentatively. He clasped his hands together, glancing around the room and unsure of what he was really supposed to be doing. He could hear hushed voices coming from the girls' room where Mira, Sunny and Jib had retreated to, but they weren't loud enough for him to hear clearly.
"And abandon your cool roommate to the fate of having the whole room to himself? How cruel," Luke replied jokingly, cracking open the bedroom door. "Well, suit yourself. I'll let you know if I see any more bugs." That said, he offerd Aisling a wave goodbye before closing the door behind him.

Aisling smiled at Luke before heading back into the living room to sleep. She looked at Parker with a small smile as she found a spot near enough to the couch to sit and stretch out. "Still a bit uncomfortable?" She asked softly as to not bother the others in their rooms.

Aisling narrowed her eyes a little as he didn't finish his sentence. "Okay then." She laid down and used her arms to pillow her head on the floor. "Try to get some rest, you can leave at first light if you want to."

Parker sighed, frustrated with himself. All his conflicting thoughts and actions were starting to bother him, and it seemed he wasn't the only one. He laid his head down on the armrest of the couch, staring stubbornly up at the ceiling. "I've been kind of a pain, haven't I?" he asked softly, thinking out loud. "It feels like I haven't been able to make up my mind at all today. None of this is familiar to me, and breaking a routine I've done for years feels... wrong." His mind was telling him to stop, that where he was going was dangerous territory, but at this point he was kind of sick of not saying anything useful. "Before today, I'd never met another person like me. I didn't know if I was the only one, but that's always what if felt like. Me against the world, you know? But this whole day has kind of shattered that whole thought." He sighed, scrubbing at his face with his hands. "None of this makes any sense, my mind can't keep up with everything going on. I feel like I need to get far away from here, but at the same time, I don't want to leave so soon. I've... never had a friend before." It was only then that he tore his gaze away from the wall to look at Aisling on the floor, suddensly self-conscious of all the strange things he was saying.

Aisling let out the smallest of sighs and rolled on to her side slightly curled up with her knees to her chest. "I've never had a friend either." She mumbled. "Everything is strange to me too, not like anything I've ever done before. For me it has always been about saving those who are still in those terrible Schools." She closed her eyes and yawned. "We should sleep though."

Aisling curled up more, holding her knees loosely as she drifted into a light sleep. Even when she was asleep she still was alert for any suspicious noises.

(Sure!)
Mira tossed and turned all night after her quiet conversation with Sunny the night before. She was anxious at hearing that a human had been alerted to their presence, and despite Sunny's assurance that he didn't appear to be harmful, it didn't stop her feathers from ruffling at the thought of having any sort of sustained relationship with someone outside her Flock. She finally dragged herself out of bed after a mostly sleepless night as the sun was rising, finding herself to be the first one awake. She was surprised to find Ducky laying on the kitchen table as she quietly entered the kitchen for a bite to eat, smiling softly as she slipped by him to get access to the cabinets. She sighed, bracing her hands on the counter for a moment to steady her thoughts. What to do? If she chose to honor the boy's request to meet her, she risked putting her entire Flock in danger, but it would be tough to pick up and move now, especially with Jib being so new to the Flock and having two visitors staying with them indefinitely. It was times like these she wished she had someone to confide in, but many of her Flockmates were younger or more naive than her, her brother included.
Parker was fast asleep on the couch despite his earlier inhibitions, and had fallen into a deep enough slumber that he was emitting soft snores every few seconds. not loud enough to be distracting, but noticeable enough. He didn't stir as Mira exited the bedroom, though she'd never been very noisy to begin with.

Jib had never slept well, but that night the minute her head hit the pillow she was out like a light. She was dead to the world as she slept, her wings tucked in around her like a feathery blanket. The young girl didn't even stir as Mira left the room.
Ducky twitched in his sleep, his white wings pulling closer to his small frame. Ducky had frequent nightmares but it seemed it had been a ok night for Ducky. Aisling's sweater had moved from being a pillow to being bear hugged by Ducky as he slept.

Aisling found herself awake as Mira moved to the kitchen. She moved her wings back to the normal "hidden" position she kept them in when she wasn't using them as a blanket to keep warm. She then silently got up and stretched, and headed for the kitchen as well. A smile crossed her face as she saw Ducky bear hugging her hoodie.

Jib suddenly jolted awake, her wings snapping open out of fear. After a second of pure terror Jib snapped back to reality. With a shaky sigh she pulled her knees to her chest and stifled a sob.
Ducky slept on. Ducky was sleeping like a rock.

"Slept just fine on the floor." Aisling replied while she stretched her arms above her head. "Parker is still asleep, I'm guessing we are the only two awake for the moment." She found an open spot near Mira by the counters to lean against.

Sunny sat up in her bed as Mira left the room, a frown on her face. She slept in the bunk above Mira, and had noticed how she hadn't slept much the night before. It was likely due to her breaking the news the night before about her encounter with Danny in the woods. She was distracted from her thoughts by Jib, however, the sounds of her moving and her subsequent sobs catching her off-guard. She crawled to the other side of the bed, peeking over the edge. "Are you alright?" she asked softly. She's given Jib her space the last few days to let her adjust to being a part of the Flock, but it was obvious she was having a hard time.
Mira nodded at this, turning around and leaning against the counter. "I'm not surprised.Usually no one is awake this early." She glanced out a window, noting the pink and orange sunrise outside. Shaking her head, she returned her gaze to Aisling. "So, have you and Parker decided what you're going to do now?" she asked, curious about their plans. "I know you both grew up pretty much taking care of yourselves, but now that you're found each other, and found us, will that change?"

Jib jumped at Sunnys works and quickly rubbed her tears from her face. "H-hey yeah I'm fine." She stuttered out quietly. Jib tucked her wings in close to her body, she hated sleeping. It waking worlds nightmares followed Jib to her dreams and it usually ended up with Jib shaking and sobbing like a child.

"I have been looking for others like us for a while out here and now that I found you lot I want to make sure all of you will be okay." Aisling started. "If it's alright with you I would like to stay with your flock. I'm not sure about Parker yet but he is his own person and will make his choice in time." She smiled a little at Mira. Part of her hoped Parker would stay as well, but she knew she couldn't force him.

Aisling nodded. "I didn't have anyone when I got out, but I've been out for a while." She folded her arms over her chest and sighed softly. "Maybe now I won't feel so alone. It can be hard to not have anyone out there."

Sunny took a seat on the bed beside Jib, leaving a bit of space between them, being unsure how comfortable Jib would be with any physical contact. "I get nightmares, too, sometimes," she admitted, clasping her hands together in her lap. "I know Mira does too. It's normal." She hoped that knowing it wasn't just her would help her feel a little less alone. "Do you... want to talk about it?"
Mira nodded. "Yeah, I imagine it would be hard," she murmured in reply, though she'd never been truly alone, at least not physically. "We try our best to help each other out, however we can. It can still be lonely, though, being separated from the town, and from everyone else. Although, I don't know how much longer we'll be able to stay here..." she admitted, glancing away.

Jib pulled her knees closer to her chest. Jib felt a little better knowing the others had nightmares also. Jib took in a deep breath. "I-i had a sister in the school. We weren't related by blood or anything but we grew up together." Jib paused to glance over to Sunny. "Her name was Sparrow and the day I escaped she was murdered by a Eraser. Every night since I had been having the same nightmare." She shivered.
(I love how Mira and Aisling are just casually talking as Ducky sleeps on the table.)

Aisling looked over to the sleeping form of Ducky on the table. "If we need to move we can do it at night when the dark will help us hide best. Let's stay here as long as we can before the move. I don't know if the others would be up to moving so soon after having me join you." She looked back to Mira, a slight frown on her face now.

(Pfft he's just catching up on his beauty rest.)
Mira blinked, then shook her head. "Ah, it's not because of you and Parker," she assured, hoping it didn't come across that way. "It's just... Sunny ran into a human the other day, out in the woods. She claims that he's alright, and that he wants to help... but he saw her wings. We don't have many rules here in this Flock, but keeping your wings hidden is one of the most important. If one of us is discovered, we could all be in danger. I've... agreed to meet the boy, but if I'm not convinced, we won't have a choice. I guess I'm just not really sure how to feel about the whole situation." She sighed, craning her head back and looking up at the ceiling.
Sunny glanced down at her hands. "That sounds hard," she said softly. "I was... the only one at my School. Before Mira took me in a few months ago, I'd never met another person like me. The scentists treated me like an experiment instead of a person. They poked me with needles to see how my body would react to different things, and made me use my powers on animals and other people to see what would happen." A bitter smile came to her face, and she hugged her arms almost defensively. "They were training me, and they didn't even realize it. Once my powers were strong enough, I made them all so sad that they couldn't even more. I walked right past them, and there was nothing they could do to stop me. It was... terrifying." She took a shaky breath, pushing memories of that time away for now. "I still have nightmares about those days, alone in a cage. Even in the middle of the day, sometimes. Like flashbacks. Whenever that happens, I make Mira brush my hair for me. I dunno why, but it always calms me down. Maybe you can find something like that, too? That way, when you're feeling scared, you'll know what to do to make it go away." She glanced up at Jib, wondering if she had anything in mind.

Aisling bit her lower lip in thought. "I could be a scout for you when you go to meet this human boy, just in case. I have no relation to him or Sunny so if it comes to eliminating a witness to our kind I can do it no questions asked and no bad feelings held." She shrugged not really sure if it was a good idea.

Jib watched Sunny quietly as she spoke. "Geez." Jib said quietly. At least Jib had had Sparrow but Sunny had no one. Jib shivered softly at the thought. Jib looked down at her bandaged hand, she had found a pen earlier that morning and had drawn some simple shapes on it. Nothing to fancy just a couple squares and triangles. "I like drawing." Jib said softly. Once Jib had stolen a pen from on of the scientists and had drawn all over her arm. She had gotten into a lot of trouble it had helped her feel grounded.

Sunny brightened at this, as though an idea had just come to mind. She jumped off the bed excitedly and ran over to where Mira's backpack was propped up against the leg of the bed, opening it up and sifting through it until she'd found what she was looking for. She extracted a beaten, somewhat crumpled college rule notebook, making her way back to where Jib was sitting and holding up the notebook proudly. "Luke brought this back from one of his trips out to town," she explained, opening it up and flipping past a few pages filled with school notes and math problems. "Looks like someone was using it for school for a while, and it ended up getting thrown out. Mira doesn't use it for anything, she just kept it to see if it would be useful someday. It's mostly empty, though. The pages are all lined so it might not be very good for drawing, but maybe it could help you out?" She glanced up at Jib, curious as to what she might think.
Mira blinked, surprised at the offer momentarily, then chuckled. "I don't think I'll need to 'eliminate' him," she assured, "but I appreciate the offer. Honestly I wouldn't mind having someone else tag along, just in case. It's always good to have backup on hand, in case things go badly, but if that happens, we'll just leave and try to find somewhere else to live. Besides, no one would believe a kid claiming he saw a person with wings, right?"
