Intro ≫ You've been walking for what feels like days. The sun is hot above your head, and your stomach aches from walking and from hunger. You managed to escape that awful place, somehow, but the outside world almost feels even crueler. You fold your wings close against your back, too afraid to try to fly in case you're spotted by Erasers, and shiver. A secluded life means you have no idea how to survive, and the thought makes your chest tighten. Did you escape only to die? The thought makes the situation feel even more hopeless.
≫ You jump slightly as a light thud sounds behind you, and as you whip around to see what it is, you find yourself face to face with a woman. Her spotted brown hawk's wings are fully extended, feathers fluttering like the leaves in the trees above your head, and she has a long, dangerous-looking dagger clutched in one hand. She straightens up from her landing, fixing bright green eyes on you. For a moment, she looks angry, but then she pauses, expression changing to surprise. You were not what she expected to run into out here, it would seem.
≫ "You're... one of us," she breathes in shock, shaking her head, and she slips the dagger into her boot. "How did you get here?" She brushes auburn hair from her face, a curious but confused frown on her face.
≫ "I-I ran away," you manage to say, not sure how to interact with another of your kind. "I've been walking for a long time... I don't know what to do." In desperation, you admit your struggles, hoping that this girl, someone like you, can help you figure out what your purpose is beyond the School.
≫ The girl looks conflicted for a moment, letting out a long breath before giving a slight nod. "Well, you've come to the right place, then," she says, and a faint but genuine smile comes to her face. It's the first kind look you've received in a long time. She waves for you to follow her, beginning to walk deeper into the woods. "My name is Mira. Don't worry, you're not alone. There's more of us, out here. Hybrids, experimented on and tortured inside those Schools. We protect each other, and we can protect you, too, if you want."
≫ Speechless, you follow, mind whirling at this new information. Perhaps joining this group of hybrids was the way to figure out where you came from, what you're meant to do, and how to live in this world that only seems to want to kill you. With a flicker of hope in your heart, you disappear into the forest with Mira. About The RP ≫It's modern day. Half-human, half-bird hybrids created by various Schools across the world have come together to create a group that can protect each other from harm. Living together in the woods, far from any towns or cities, these hybrids have only one job: survive. However, this task is made hard, as the hybrids have many enemies. Erasers sent from the School track the Flock down mercilessly to take them back to where they were experimented on, and curious humans sometimes wander into the woods, risking discovery of the entire group. Survive. Protect each other. Never turn your back on a friend. These philosophies are what have kept the Flock alive for years, and these are the ideals upon which a family is born. Will you help to protect it, too? Landmarks ≫ Cabin: This dilapidated building houses the Flock's base of operations for the last several months. Located in the middle of a sparsely-trafficed area, the cabin is hidden from human eyes for the most part and has not been touched in many years. Fairly spacious, if in desperate need of repairs, the cabin is a reliable home to any aviary friends who happe to stumble upon it. For the time being, at least.
≫ Westwood: Located at about a forty minute walk from the Flock's cabin, this large and lively town contains a variety of shops and markets within which the Flock can pick up any supplies, clothing, or other necessities they might need. Despite the town's quiet atmosphere, it's denser population makes it dangerous for avians to enter it, as the probability of discovery jumps significantly. Proceed with caution if you must enter.
≫ School: Scattered throughout the world, Schools exist to produce human experiments, weapons capable of feats beyond human abilities. These Schools are essentially torture houses in which hybrids are experimented on and made to perform tests like lab rats. Many members of the Flock came to it after escaping the Schools.
≫ Westwood Lake: A large and beautiful lake at the edge of the forest. During the day, humans can often be seen playing on its shores, sailing on the waters, or fishing off the various docks around its circumference. At night, however, the lake is almost always quiet.

RP Rules ≫ Characters: Please keep characters realistic within the rules of the world! Give your characters flaws as well as strengths, as that will make them are more interesting character to read about and to roleplay. Characters' appearances should be in line with a typical human, which means no abnormal skin or eye colors. Specify if a character has unnatural dyed hair. When creating your character's special ability, give the ability strengths and weaknesses. If there is anything about your character that I feel is not in line with the roleplay, I may ask you to alter or change parts of your joining form. Please be respectful of this!
≫ God-Modding: Please avoid god-modding, spotlighting, mary-sueing, etc. You cannot kill or severely injure another person's character without their permission, and your character is not invincible. Be realistic when roleplaying, especially in battle, and be mindful of what other people want for their characters during these moments. Please do not force your character to the center of attention all the time, as this quickly becomes a problem to other players who want their turn to show off their characters. If I see an issue with your style of roleplay or notice you breaking this rule, I may ask you to revise or even delete your post in extreme circumstances.
≫ Friendliness: Be kind to everyone on this thread. Insults, slurs, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or any other type of discriminatory remarks are completely unacceptable and will immediately result in removal from the roleplay and a report to the WCRP staff. Please refrain from bullying other members or causing unnecessary drama. If you wish to put your character into a pre-existing scene of roleplay, please ask permission first as a form of courtesy.
≫ Advertising: ;If you wish to advertise another thread, discord server, or other external link, such as to a social media account, please ask permission first and do so while following the rules of the WCRP forums. Malicious links, including links to NSFW or offensive content, will immediately be removed.
≫ Activity: Please be active! You don't have to post every day, but it is much appreciated when members of roleplays make an effort to at least update the group on why they haven't been posting or when they will be around again. As a general rule, inactive members will be removed after 7 days of inactivity, though this can change based on personal status or based on information received beforehand. Please let the group know if you will be absent for an extended period of time so that we do not delete you!
≫ Appropriate Content: Although this roleplay will have some level of violence, blood, and potentially death within it, please keep things PG as much as possible! This means no graphic depictions of violence, sex, romance, brutal death, and other similar topics. Romance is allowed and encouraged in these kinds of roleplays, but please be sensitive to the forum rules as well as the personal views of other members of the roleplays. Graphic descriptions, drug and alcohol abuse, verbal, emotional, and physical abuse, suicide, and other extreme topics are prohibited and must be treated with extreme care outside of roleplay. The Flock » Mira «
» 18 | Female | Hawk «» Maternal, Stubborn, Cautious «𝕃𝕪𝕤𝕤𝕒
With a slim build and standing at only 5'3, Mira shows right away that she is not built for heavy combat. Her red-brown hair falls down to her collarbone, though she often pulls it back into a ponytail or braid for the sake of practicality. She has distinguishable bright green eyes and a pale complexion that makes her appear unintimidating and small. Hawk wings sit on her back, brown and built for speed. Not caring too much for her appearance, she foregos makeup and beauty supplies, and tends to wear practical clothes that help her blend in and move easily. Baggy or stretchy clothing, tank tops, leggings, and tee-shirts are all high on her list of desireable clothing items, along with tennis shoes if she can find them. Because sturdy shoes are hard to come by, she often walks barefoot when she's not around humans, and has thick, strong soles on her feet. Stubborn and outspoken, Mira immediately sets herself apart from the rest of the Flock, and from her brother, as a girl who is quick to make decisions and nearly impossible to disuade. Clearly a leader among her friends, she has a strong sense of justice and sticks to her ideals unflinchingly. To new acquaintances, her argumentative nature can come off as haughty and quick to anger, which isn't untrue, but a deeper look shows that Mira is a girl who cares intensely for anyone she considers her friend. She is fiercely protective of her Flock, especially the younger members, and would do anything to make sure they stay safe. Years of life in hiding have taught her that extreme caution and careful planning are the keys to survival, and her constant reminders to be safe and careful can often come across as maternal in nature. Overall, Mira proves herself to be an uptight but very reliable leader figure and protector amongst her family. Mira and Luke grew up together in a School far away from where they are now, and are only aware that they are siblings due to vague hints the scientists at the School would say to one another. As children, the two of them relied on each other for comfort and reassurance as they sought to find a way to escape their captivity. Within this School, the two met Madeleine, an older experiment who adopted them as her own younger siblings and attempted to protect them as much as possible. It took many years, but when Mira and Luke were twelve years old and Madeleine was seventeen, the three attempted their escape. In the excitement of escaping, Mira and Luke managed to narrowly escape, battered and bleeding, but Madeleine was killed in the process. The two siblings fled as far as they could, taking care of each other as much as possible, until they stumbled upon the cabin they now live in many years later. It was here that they began to build their Flock. She has the ability to sense incoming danger via a sort of "sixth sense". The premonitions are often vague and manifest themselves as a "bad feeling". If she concentrates hard enough, she can sometimes deduce how far away the threat is, how numerous they are, and what they might be. However, using this ability causes her to become extremely fatigued, and it can take anywhere between an hour and a few days to completely recover, depending on the extent of its usage. She has a deceased older sister, Madeleine, and a twin brother, Luke. She is widely believed, if not officially, to be the leader of the Flock.
» Luke «
» 18 | Male | Crow «» Goofy, Approachable, Naive «𝕃𝕪𝕤𝕤𝕒
Taller and lankier than his sister, Luke stands at 6'0 and has long, strong limbs. His hair is pitch-black and shaggy, as Luke usually only sees fit to cut it every year or so. When the hair gets too long for him to handle, he tends to pull it back in a ponytail to keep it out of his face, but he prefers short hair is he can get it. Dark hair, gray eyes and a pale complexion can make Luke appear almost spooky, especially when he shows his black crow's wings. Luke tends to prefer clothing that make him appear like someone from the city, like jeans, graphic tee-shirts, and hoodies. Willing to forego practicality for style, he's the more fashion-forward of the two siblings and appreciates a chance to scour the local clothing stores to find out what the new trends are. Luke is a jokester at first glance, always around to defuse a situation with humor or sarcasm. Contrary to Mira's no-nonsense approach to survival, Luke is a strong believer in using humor to lift the spirits of his fellow Flock members. However, this may come across to some as immature or even antagonistic, especially when he leans toward the sarcastic side of humor. With a rather naive and optimistic view of the world, Luke can always see the silver lining in a situation. However, this also means that he is quick to trust and form bonds, and when that trust is broken, it's earth-shattering every time. Digging deeply, a good friend might see that Luke is not as childish as he appears, and carries a form of social wisdom born from repeatedly forming bonds and having them broken. Luke can make himself incredibly durable, even for a hybrid, and can take many heavy hits before succumbing to his injuries. However, he can sometimes overestimate his abilities, leading to him becoming unnecessarily injured. This ability also consumes a lot of energy when he is actively using it, which means that he tires far faster in battle when using it. This ability often does not seem to work against blades or piercing weapons, but can greatly reduce the damage of blunt force. He has two sisters, Madeleine and Mira.
» Ducky «
» 15 | Male | Albino Mallard Duck «» Kind, Easygoing, Shy «Fuzzymask
Ducky is a rather small hybrid with shoulder length snowy white hair he usually braids to keep it out of his face and pale blue eyes. He doesn't have a particular style of clothing but he is usually found in t-shirts, blue jeans and bare feet. (When he does wear shoes it usually a pair of scruffy sneakers he found a while back.) He has a set of snowy white mallard duck wings. Ducky has a calm and nice personality but when angered he can be a bit of a spitfire. But all in all hes a nice kid. Ducky has no special ability yet and no family. Being albino Ducky has very poor eye sight and has to smudge dirt under his eyes to keep himself from being blinded by the sun making him look like a badger. But Ducky has wonderful hearing. He also has a fear of butterfly's and other flying bugs.
» Sunny «
» 8 | Female | Bluebird «» Shy, Caring, Optimistic «𝕃𝕪𝕤𝕤𝕒
Standing at a petite 4'10, Sunny obtained her affectionate nickname from her long, wavy golden blond hair and her bright smile. With baby blue eyes and a smattering of freckles across her face, arms, and shoulders, Sunny cas herself with a child-like naivety that only a girl her age could have in her situation. Two shimmering bluebird wings sprout from her back, with long black-tipped feathers. Although Sunny's sense of fashion also falls victim to the lack of money the Flock has, she managies to get by on hand-me-down sundresses, overalls or graphic tee-shirts when the budget is extra tight. She doesn't like to wear shoes, and usually runs around barefoot. As a result, her feet and legs are typically covered in bruises, cuts and scratches from walking barefoot in the woods. Sunny is, as her name implies, an extremely friendly and positive figure within the Flock. Still young and fairly naive thanks to her protective Flock-mates, Sunny's optimism is both infectious and unrealistic, as she doesn't have a solid handle on her situation or how the world works. She's a humble girl, not one to boast or generally talk at all about her talents or achievements, and is incredibly shy when it comes to meeting new people. It takes her a long time to warm up to new friends due to the nature of her upbringing as a lab experiment and the fact that she's only been outside the School for a few months, but once she bonds with someone she really starts to show her goofy and fun personality a lot more. Sunny was raised in the School from birth, and grew to be shy and distrustful as a result of her abuse within it. When she was seven years old, she managed to escape by awakening her latent powers and using them to cause an intense sadness in the scientists, so powerful that they were physically unable to follow her. She walked right out the front door and made it into the nearby woods before collapsing due to the strain of overusing her new powers so quickly after discovering them. She was found and nursed back to health by the Flock after falling unconscious for five consecutive days. Now, she is far more careful about using her powers, and has not managed to recreate anything even close to the power she used to escape. Using her mind, Sunny can invoke an emotional response from a person by amplifying the emotional effects of their memories. Doing this, she can cause someone to reexperience a particularly strong happiness, sadness, fear, or anger, though the extent to which this power works depends on the individual and the memory she chooses to manifest. Sunny cannot read these memories, only sense the emotions they cause. This power, being new and particularly straining on the body, causes her extreme fatigue when she does use it, and she can sometimes faint just from a short burst of using it.
» Jib «
» 17 | Female | Ice Pigeon «» Cold, Jumpy, Quiet «Fuzzymask
Jib is a rather tall hybrid with long dirty blond hair and sharp green eyes. She tends to wear t-shirts and shorts with a old pair of sneakers. She also wears a silver ring on her. Left pinky. Jib has a large pair of ice pigeon wings. Jib is soft spoken and rarely tells any one what she is feeling, she can be cold and distant. Her special ability is invisibility. Her special ability is the reason how she got out. She punched a doctor in the face and managed to climb out a window. She had a sister named Sparrow. Jib tends to break rules and sometimes doesn't even listen to Mira.
» Parker «
» 20 | Male | North American Bunting «» Quiet, Distant, Street-Smart «𝕃𝕪𝕤𝕤𝕒
Parker is a thick-set man, standing at 5'11 when he strands straight up. He has thick, long blond hair that he usually keeps tied in a low ponytail, braid, or even a bun on occassion. When he does wear it down, it tends to annoy him, though he doesn't typically bother cutting it either. He has dark brown eyes set into a tall, angular face. He doesn't care much for clothes, and tends to wear whatever he can get his hands on that generally fit. Because of this, he tends to wear too-long pants and ill-fitting shoes, as there isn't much else for him to find, nor does he really know how to buy clothes that fit well. His wings are nearly twelve feet long when fully extended, and his feathers are a bright blue color with green and yellow tones underneath. Parker is quiet and generally standoffish, preferring his own company over a large crowd. His upbringing in the School has made him very distrusting and distant with others, even his fellow hybrids, and will typically deny any attempt from someone else to get close to him. However, there's a part of him that does still care and sympathize with other bird kids, and he tends to have a soft spot for those who are fresh out of the Schools. Although he'll never admit to caring for them, he's inclined to help out those he meets along the way, hybrid or not, but he has no interest in joining up with the Flock despite currently being near them. Unlike the Flock, Parker prefers to hide in plain sight, figuring that it wouldbe harder to find him if he pretended to be a regular person. As such, he hides his wings under coats or sweatshirts most of the time and makes somewhat of a living doing odd jobs around different towns he travels to. He never goes to the same place twice, and once he's been in one town for long enough, he moves on to the next. He has the ability to stick to many surfaces, such as glass, brick, and wood. He cannot stick to slippery surfaces, but his ability to stick is strong enough to support around four hundred pounds before he can no longer hold himself up. Parker, like many other hybrids, was raised in a School far away from Westwood. At eighteen, he managed to escape by climbing up a wall and into an air vent during a training exercise. Once he was out, he flew as far as he could away from the School and hopped from city to city before being introduced to the Flock recently. Though he hasn't officially joined, he seems to have no intention of leaving, either.
» Ramesses 'Ramiel ' Azhar «
Ramiel stands at 6'3 and is characterized by his lean, rather noticeable muscles- his mutations make wearing clothes difficult, much to his pleasure- and feathery patterned hair. Well, he's rather handsome too, he'd like you to know, but his hair tends to get a fair amount of attention as well. It has turned prematurely white and is both streaked and spotted randomly with silver, gold, bronze, and cherrywood brown, the colors taken from his massive wings of varying shades. His hair is both soft and thick, taking on a feathery quality that nonetheless forces him to pin it back and out of his face. While Ramiel is accustomed to drawing attention- both positive and negative- his blessing has become somewhat of a curse. He is now in a near permanent state of being Very Obviously present, and it isn't just his boisterous laugh- his oblique eyes are the deep, pumpkin orange of the Eagle Owls that share his DNA. There are similarly patterned feathers around his eyes and turning up at the corners. Their purpose is to enhance his already remarkable vision but also give the impression of his wearing eye-makeup 24/7. Well, it wouldn't be so bad if they don't get fluffed and mussed up every time he wakes. How?! Ah, he also has feathery owl 'ear' tufts at the top of his head. These too enhance his hearing but are also rather noticeable and instinctively move to track whatever sound currently interests him. They have earned him the derogatory nickname of 'Mothman' by Sever...Worse, he's been given a new mutation that allows for more aerodynamics to combat his unwieldy wings- a full owl's tail that allows for smooth gliding at manageable speeds. This, at least, he can fold up into his wings so as to be less obtrusive. Ramiel's more human features include golden freckled skin, prominent bronze browsa generous oft-smiling mouth, a straight blade of a nose, and a veritable mess of freshly healed scars. You can't look at him without seeing at least several of them. The most noticeable are a lightning-branch of silvery scars that trail from his right eye to his sharp cheek-bones. His large speckled wings are very difficult to hide, but they make up for it in sheer power and the ability for swift, noiseless flight. Ramiel is noiseless on the ground too- when he keeps his mouth shut- and has all the characteristics of the ambush predator that he's meant to be. As they originate from a batch designated to be 'super soldiers', Sever and Ramiel have more predatory traits than are commonly found...In Ramiel's case, they appear rather harmless. He has a very cat-like demeanor and occasionally catches himself making cooing or purring sounds. He also sleeps very often and in random places- though that is a more negative side-effect of his mutations. Ramiel was a relatively recent acquisition and required more experiments spaced too closely together to get him 'caught up' to the others. As a result, he has periods when his body gives out or his mind short circuits, and can fall victim to bursts of pain of varying length. At present he has not manifested any abilities beyond those that can be connected to the Eagle Owl, such as incredible strength and senses. Ramiel was taken- he refuses to admit that his family may have given him up- relatively late in life at 15 and clings to what he perceives as his humanity and all the things that he may have lost in the past. He refuses to consider the fact that they may always be lost- and is perhaps rather difficult to manage as a result. He is flippant and vain, seeing the other members of the flock as beneath him due to his age and perceived worldliness. He is too unpredictable to be trusted, acting mostly on whims or in the service of some imperceivable goal but can be loyal in his own, vague way. It takes quite a lot to rise in his estimation, however, as he has decided to see the world in a very linear way by labeling others based on story tropes- such as calling people he's uninterested in 'Background Characters'. It's Ramiel's story and he dictates how it should unfold. If someone is not of use to him, then they might as well not have worth at all. What is perhaps dangerous about this way of thinking is that at present, no one truly knows that this is how Ramiel perceives the world. He likes to be loud and flamboyant, he likes to be a source of humor and doesn't mind if the joke is on himself. He's amiable and personable- so when he says or does something that may be seen as callous, he can easily turn it into a joke or brush it off as a fluke. He delights in twisting words and manipulating minds. Ramiel was (once) the seventh son of an incredibly wealthy family in Egypt. He enjoyed the finer things in life and was accustomed to having his wishes swiftly fulfilled- but in the sheltered youngest kind of way, meaning he only had the perception of power but really wasn't attended to as his older brothers had been. His mother occasionally complained of having 'too many sons' but he thought this to be a joke. Ramiel has blocked out the memory of his last day in the opulent mansion and only recalls waking on a cold metal table. He only knows the frigid, steely burn of revenge now. Against what and whom is rather vague- But he knows where to start. This thirst only grew and twisted when his life became a swathe of violence in the wake of his brutal 'training'. Ramiel only managed to escape the heavily guarded School with Sever's help. For this he claims to be incredibly grateful and follows the younger man around like a lovestruck puppy. Ramiel was initially hesitant to join the flock, but quickly came around when he realized that he could use them.
» Sever «
Sever is 6'0 and solidly built- but as that of a well-balanced gymnast. Speed and agility are two of his greatest natural abilities and they're near constantly on display with his understated poise and preternatural reflexes- gravity hates him- Despite his height, broad shoulders, and expansive wings, Sever seems to give the impression that he doesn't take up much space at all. This is probably supported by the fact that he tends to stand incredibly still when not given a reason to move and prefers to observe from the background of a scene. When one pays attention to him, however, they would see classic pretty boy features set in a passionless facade. Sever's hair is solid black but for the suggestion of Prussian blue toward its ends. While generally neat and kept out of his face with bangs that frame the soft curves of his cheekbones, it's notably asymmetrical and falls longer on the right, where it curls against his lower jaw. Sev's hair is soft and vaguely wavy but has a tendency to 'fluff' or rise when agitated- in a more mild display reminiscent of the Harpy Eagle's crest. His pale skin is dotted with beauty marks at the right corner of his mouth and at the outer edge of his left eye. Sever's eyes themselves are a fantastical azure blue, tilted upwards like a cat's and rimmed in inky feathers to further enhance his eyesight when required. The gradual escalation of the blues in his eyes appear to mimic the ocean depths but aren't as inscrutable. He habitually obscures his gaze with his hair or in whatever fashion he can to hide the fact that they're more expressive than he'd like. If Sever could find a suitable hat, he'd wear it 24/7 to shade his eyes. Or else tie the strings of his hoodie over his face to hide it entirely. He can be a bit extreme in that way...He has once near fatally head-butted Ramiel to hide the fact that he was about to cry from pain. He also has the unfortunate habit of pouting when things don't go his way, he fails to immediately understand something, or when mildly upset. If anyone remarks on it he will be forced to awkwardly threaten them into silence. Sever is otherwise rather expressionless and only displays mild avian body language; such as tapping the toes of his shoes against the ground when he feels threatened, preening when stressed, and fanning out his wings or tail when feeling combative. His wings themselves rival Ramiel's but are a much simpler onyx with white striped undersides. He also possesses the recent permutation of a feathered tail and can likewise fold it up into his folded wings when grounded. Though he moves and reacts quickly, Sev prefers to conserve energy and rarely engages in full-on flights. He is, however, incredibly aerodynamic and can pair flight that exceeds fifty miles per hour with quick, precise maneuvers. The abilities derived from his mutations begin with the default strength, speed, senses, etc but are added onto with retractable claws that emerge from his heels and wrists. What can truly be considered a 'power' is his ability to exert telekinetic pressure on whatever he touches, enabling him to either cut or crush even solid metals. This requires intense focus- which Sever has in spades- but is also reliant on his lung capacity and overall condition at that time. Sev cannot use the power indefinitely, as he can only affect small areas at a time- such as diverting power to his fist while leaving his body unprotected- and literally steals his own breath/oxygen with each staccato use. Thus he's in danger of suffocating with prolonged use- the precursor of which is general lightheadedness. Despite, he tends to use the power carelessly when it comes to others. Another facet of his telekinetic pressure is the ability to deflect physical attacks as long as he can anticipate them. Sever has the bad habit of using his body and wings as a shield for the rest of the Flock, diverting his energy into a quick touch to keep them safe from oncoming attacks. This tendency is overall representative of his general personality: Though he doesn't look it, Sever is an impulsive idiot who physically cannot allow those around him to go unprotected. It would be called a hero complex if he was actually noble, as he is otherwise very selfish and doesn't care for anyone else beyond a select few. Children and people who are generally seen as weak are in his protection by default but everyone else can go burn. Sev's moral compass hasn't been properly formed, as he will steal, cheat, lie, and blackmail others without batting an eye but heaven and hell help anyone who dares to do the same to him or anyone he cares about. He and Ramiel have a very similar tendency to go for the blood and hold even petty grudges for years at a time. He absolutely hates feeling weak, belittled, insulted, or anything of the like but unlike the more patient Ramiel, Sever will respond with near immediate violence. The 'near' comes into place as he will usually issue threats first. Sever isn't one to 'needlessly verbalize' and only speaks when he feels he has something important to communicate. Unfortunately what he deems 'important' is usually an excessive amount of sass, threats, and very bad advice. He is marginally gentler with children however, still blunt and direct in a needlessly rude way but his actions more obviously don't match up with his words. Sev doesn't exactly know how to handle them but he tends to soften his tone and move with more care than usual. He doesn't interact unless prompted, but enjoys teaching them what he's learned if they ask. This can be considered one of Sever's favorite hobbies- he has a thirst for knowledge and the intellect to match. He catches on to things quickly and voraciously devours any and all information he can get his hands on. He's particularly interested in animals but has also proven adept at subjects like physics and geometry. Sev is also a skilled artist with the ability to scale incredibly detailed artwork down to cute doodles. Though it isn't his intention, he tends to be far more transparent in his art than he'd like. Sev will leave a scrap of paper with an adorable bird caricature waving in lieu of informing others where he's going and leaves little doodles around the house for the others to find. None of Ramiel's are very kind or positive. Sever visits towns/cities whenever able. He has an aversion to large groups of people but secretly wishes for the opportunity to go to school- real school. Sever doesn't remember much of his background, not his name- he was called Seven but when he saw it written in passing it looked like 'Sever'- not his age, though he thinks he may be in his late teens- and not his family, though he has scant trace memories of a loving woman he believes to be his mother. One of his life's goals is to reunite with her. He was trained and experimented on longer than Ramiel but they developed a bond of sorts when Ramiel began teaching him things during their few interactions. They escaped together as well, but their relationship is undefined. Not quite friends and not quite enemies- Sever hangs around because he's the only one strong enough to haul Rami around if need be, and he also doesn't fully trust him even though he can throw him pretty far. Ramiel claims to be in Sever's debt but it's unclear whether or not he's serious about this. Still, Sever is a very good shield for when things get dicey and Ramiel is a good outlet for Sever's insults and more violent tendencies. As Ramiel is rarely dedicatedly useful, Sever quietly picks up the slack by taking care of odd jobs, hunting, fixing things around the house, and doing whatever is necessary to keep things running smoothly. Don't mention it or he'll deny it and either claim he was just bored or retreat to a tree in embarrassment. Though he typically chafes at authority, he likes and respects Mira. He's never seen himself as a leader and she's currently the only person he'll obey with only mild griping. As for Ramiel, Sever likes to do the exact opposite of whatever Rami wants and will screw him over at every opportunity. The feeling is mutual. Humans » Danny (Dan) Sweets «

Danny is a rather short young man which thick flaming red hair he keeps slicked back, chocolate brown eye, and a dash of freckles across his pale face. He tends to wear a simple white t-shirt with a dark green button up shirt over it, jeans and a set of simple off brand shoes. His left ear is pierced. Danny is a very caring and will help anything in need, from a baby bird to homeless people. But he can be a bit to caring almost annoying. Danny has lived in the small town near the flocks cabin his whole life, he knows every inch of his town and he thought he knew the forest pretty well. He still lives with his parents (Lance and Mary Sweets) and his younger sister Anna.

≫ | Mira | 17 | Female | Hawk | With a slim build and standing at only 5'3, Mira shows right away that she is not built for heavy combat. (Thunderfur)
≫ | Luke | 17 | Male | Crow | Taller and lankier than his sister, Luke stands at 6'0 and has long, strong limbs. (Thunderfur)

≫ | Autumn | 16 | Female | Osprey | Autumn stands at about 5'3, with somewhat long legs. She has a bit more of a pear shape to her body. Autumn's hair is a fiery red, which is thick with curls. Her hair reaches the middle of her back when not in a ponytail, which is what it's commonly found in. Her wings are covered with speckles of all different colors that are found on an osprey. Her eyes are two separate colors. One is a beautiful navy blue, and the other one is a rich brown. Her wingspan is about 7'0 across. Autumn is a rebellious, spunky teen, who won't always take no for an answer. She is protective of the flock, even though she knows they might not need it sometimes. Autumn is fiercely loyal towards her flock, knowing she would die for them if she needed. She can also be very gentle and kind at times. Autumn was born and raised in the school, and wasn't really too socialized at the time. She was often under very heavy testing, which caused her stress, and her rebellious nature. This eventually caused what they were testing for, which was a psychic ability called pyrokinesis, which causes fire to be made with her mind. She burned a hole through her cage, and burned a few guards before making it out of the School. She does have a few burns of her own on her palms, as she has accidentally burned herself quite a few times while practicing. (lilyquill)

(Okay, here goes)
Mira sat on the dusty old couch left behind in the old cabin, legs crossed as the glanced over the pages of a magazine she'd picked up while in town a few days back. She could read a bit of the text due to some minor reading skills she'd picked up while on the move, but the articles were widely uninteresting to her, depicting photos of models and makeup artists and expensive items for sale. She'd picked it up out of boredom, but it wasn't helping much, so she set it down on the wooden coffee table with a sigh.
Luke was deeply engrossed in tinkering with a bracelet at the cabin's kitchen table, attempting to knot several old strings from various pieces of clothing and other dubious locations into some sort of bracelet. As he tugged on a string, it snapped clean off, and he groaned in frustration. This would be way easier if I had actual thread to work with, he thought to himself glumly, but he knew there was no extra money to go toward frivolous purchases like craft supplies.

Autumn had been digging around in the cabin for a while, seeing what she could find. She had, at this point, climbed into the top of a closet. Autumn had made it to the back, looking for something to do. She climbed out, falling out in the process, as she had found nothing. She landed with a solid thud on the ground. She let out a bored sigh, knowing she had nothing to set on fire, at least, nothing she could set on fire without accidentally burning the cabin down.

Autumn rolled onto her back, and looked up at him. "Yep. I kinda wanted to find something I could burn, but I found nothing." She let out a sigh. "I wish I could have something to burn right about now." Autumn yawned, and stretched on the floor. "Anyway, how's the bracelet coming along?" She rolled onto her stomach.

Autumn looked at it, and she sighed. "I don't like destroying things you've made, but alright. As long as you're okay with it." She sat the bracelet on the palm of her hand, and she stared at it for a moment before it caught on fire. She kept it in the palm of her hand, the burning sensation stabbing into her palm, until it burned out. "Thanks Luke." She looked up at him, and smiled.

Autumn shrugged. "Yeah, I hear you. Maybe I'll be able to pickpocket something flammable while you're pickpocketing for money. I'm just so low on fuel lately that it gets exhausting after a while having to constantly find more things to burn." She laid her head on her arms. "And yeah, it is boring, but hey, it'd be even more boring if we were alone."

Autumn sat up, and nodded."Yeah, that would honestly be nice!" She stretched out her wings briefly, and yawned. "Gosh, I just can't stop yawning." She stood up, stretching her arms. "Alright, let's go ask her!"

Autumn ran over towards Mira, and paused before her. "Mira! I'm running out of fuel for my fires, and Luke and I are bored, so can we go into town?" She asked rather excitedly. Her wings were tucked behind her. "I'll hide my wings when we're in town, and I'll keep myself low." She sighed. It was unlike her to say something like that, but in order to get out of the house, it needed to be said.

Mira bit her lip, glancing away. "I don't know... it could be dangerous to be out by yourselves. Maybe I should come with you." She stood up, setting aside the magazine on her lap.
Luke shook his head. "Someone needs to watch over things here, right?" he pointed out. "Don't worry too much, Mira. i know the routine, I'll make sure Autumn doesn't get into any trouble." He flashed his sister a cheeky grin.
Mira sighed, sitting back down resignedly. "Alright, fine. But you all know the rules. Keep your wings covered, and absolutely no flying, got it?"

≫ | Whisper | 13 | Female | Sandpiper | Standing at 5'4", Whisper is tall for her age and also quite skinny. Her skin is naturally tan despite spending most of her life indoors, and she sometimes develops freckles after time in the sun. Her eyes are quite bright green and her hair is a wavy light brown, cut short enough that it just brushes her shoulders. Mixed with what seems to be a sandpiper, Whisper's wings are slim and made up of many shades of brown. Whisper is usually very quiet, hence her name. Because she was transferred to many different Schools throughout her life in quite a few different countries, her language is a little skewed, making her self-conscious to talk. Despite this she is quite friendly and not very independent, and although she fears adults, she enjoys watching and learning about normal children. She escaped from the School while in transportation to a new one, but was only on her own for a short time before coming across the other kids like her, with whom she has lived with for quite a few weeks now. When it comes to fighting, Whisper falls short a bit, but she is strong with quick reflexes and still tries to make herself useful. Overall she is a quite sweet girl who either loves or fears everything, and who enjoys learning everything she can. (Brindleface)

Autumn nodded, and poked Luke with one of her wings. "Pfft, I can keep an eye on myself! I'm just bringing you along!" She teased him. Autumn looked back at Mira, and hesitantly nodded. "I promise I won't fly or cause a scene."

Mira chuckled slightly, a faint smile on her face. "Just play it safe, okay? Watch out for each other, and don't do anything reckless. Follow the rules, and you'll be safe." Reaching up to a hook beside the couch, Mira pulled down a pair of long trench coats. Handing one to Luke, she held the other out to Autumn. "This should hide your wings just fine, but be sure to keep it closed."
Luke throw the coat over his shoulders, buttoning it up so that his wings were safely tucked inside. He offered Mira a grin. "Thanks, sis! I promise, everything's gonna be fine." That said, he nodded to Autumn and slipped out through the front door of the cabin.

Luke stumbled as Autumn pulled on his arm, managing a quick wave in Mira's direction as he left. "Bye, Mira! We'll be back later!" he called quickly, quickening his pace to keep up with Autumn. "Hah, you're excited to get out, huh?" He laughed, flicking his hair out of his face. It was starting to grow a bit long, though he didn't seem to notice beyond the occassional motion to fix it.
Mira sighed as the two of them left the cabin, folding her arms over her chest. Even though she knew they could handle themselves just fine, she couldn't help but worry when she wasn't there with them. But Luke was right, someone needed to keep watch over the rest of the Flock while they were out. Resigning herself to her fate, she picked her magazine back up and flipped it open.
