"Alright suit yourself then." Aisling shrugged and continued to fly about the lake's surface. She did a few more small loops, even sticking her hand into the water as she flew closer to it. "Let me know if anyone shows up." She didn't feel like being spotted as she was flying, and she knew Parker was already on edge as she was showing her wings to any passer-by's if they came here.

Hearing the distress in Sunny's voice, Ducky slid off the couch so he was sitting next to her. "Well if he doesn't know where we are and he doesn't come back we should be safe." Ducky patted Sunny's shoulder. Even as Ducky tried to comfort Sunny he could feel a knot of fear in his stomach. Ducky wondered what Mira would do if she found out, she may not be to happy with Sunny but the human may not come back.

Parker hesitated for a moment long before he finallhy gave into the urge, figuring it was late enough in the evening that no humans would be showing up. He stood up and walked to the edge of the water, pausing for a moment before flapping his wings hard to get himself off the ground and into the air. He sighed softly as he did; it had been a few days since he'd had a real flight, and it felt a bit strange to be off the ground.
"He didn't seem mean or hurtful," Sunny supplied, hoping to shed more light on the situation. "He said he wanted to help, and that he wouldn't tell anyone he saw me... but I don't know whether or not I can believe him. I have to tell Mira, but she's gonna make us move if I do that. I don't know what to do." She hid her face in her arms, hugging her knees as she shrunk in on herself. "This is all my fault, I should have been more careful."

Aisling glanced over in Parker's direction. She smiled and nodded slightly as he got off the ground. "There you go. I promise we won't be exposed for long." She flew over to join Parker by the rock he was previously sitting on, her hair whipping wildly behind her as she flew. Just as Parker was in the air she touched down on land and folded her wings back in, having stretched them out for a good while.

Ducky took a minute to think, he truly had no idea how to tackle this situation. Then a thought came to Ducky that may help Sunny. "I think this human is nice and isn't out to hurt us, if he was Mira would have gotten a feeling and came to save you I think." Ducky paused. "If you tell Mira what happened I think she may understand and we may not have to move." Ducky whispered quietly. Ducky hoped this would help calm Sunny.

Parker faltered a bit, feeling suddenly self-conscious about being the only one flying. He didn't go too far from the shore, hovering low and close to the water. It was kind of nice to be out on the open lake's surface, feeling the misty breeze and letting the breeze ruffle his hair, but the mood was dampened by his paranoia at being spotted. His gaze continued to flit around the shoreline the whole time he was flying there, and he didn't go too far or high. Still, it did feel good to give his wings a little workout, since he was so slow to use them normally.
Sunny blinked, not having considered how Mira's unique abilities would factor into this situation. "Maybe you're right..." she slowly accepted, "but even if it wasn't dangerous, I don't think that will make everything okay. He did say he wanted to help in some way, but it's so hard to believe someone just through their words." Years of lies and half-truths from her supposed caretakers growing up in the School had made Sunny slow to trust just through words. In times of uncertainty, she preferred to try using her abilities to read a person's emotions, but it was hard to do under stress and required direct contact, which she was also distrustful of in new scenarios and with people she saw as potential threats.

Aisling let her wings hang loosely on her back as they were the only ones still there by the lake. She kept a close look out for Parker as he stretched his wings for a bit. "Everything seems to be fine for now." She mumbled to herself. At some point they would have to hide their wings again, but for now while everything was still quiet out they were safe. Or at least she hoped they were.

Ducky pondered what Sunny had said. He like Sunny was kind of slow to fully trust anyone and he understood what she was saying. "What if we tell Mira about him and we could go from there? Maybe she will be willing to meet him and you can learn more about him while Mira is there?" Ducky really didn't know how that would work but maybe Mira would understand the situation? Ducky really wasn't good at stuff like this.

(Okay! I'll send Luke out to find them hehe)
Luke had wandered off on his own walk when the game had finished, keeping his eyes out for Sunny in case he ran into her. He found himself heading for the large lake behind the cabin, even though it was a good distance away, simply letting himself wander for the time being. As he pushed through the line of trees at the edge of the lake, however, he found his eyes drawn instinctively to a shore not far away from where he was, where a man was flying on bird's wings above the surface of the water. He looked fairly uncomfortable, as though he wasn't used to the action, and when he met Luke's gaze from across the water, he nearly fell into the lake in his surprise.
Parker was finally starting to get somewhat comfortable hovering above the water when he found himself eye-to-eye with another person standing on a close shore. He let out a rather undignified yelp of surprise, nearly falling out of the sky before he caught himself with a hefty flap of his wings. He quickly rocketed himself back to the shore, snatching up his sweatshirt. "We have to go, now," he hissed to Aisling, dragging the sweatshirt sloppily over his head to cover his wings. "There's someone on the shore, I think they saw me,"
Sunny nodded in agreement at this. "Yeah... alright. I'll talk to her when she gets home," she replied softly. "It's gonna be fine, right? Even if we have to leave, we'll still be safe, right?"

Ducky nodded. "Yes, we will be safe." Ducky playfully nudged Sunny with his elbow. "Now lets go get something to eat im starving." Ducky pulled himself to his feet.

Aisling looked to the shore Parker had seen the other person, her eyes going wide for a second before she too flung her hoodie on over her wings. A slur of impolite words passed out of her mouth as she ran for the forest to get away from the other person. "I'm so sorry Parker, I thought we were safe here."

"You go ahead, I'm not that hungry," Sunny replied to him, mustering up a smile. Despite her words, she hadn't eaten anything since that morning's cereal. She simply felt too nervous to be looking for food.
Luke felt his jaw fall open in disbelief. More hybrids, right here in the forest he'd spent so many years? How had he not run into them before? He quickly began to chase after them, heading in the direction he'd seen them run in while simultaneously unzipping and pulling off a sweatshirt he'd thrown on to cover his wings. He flapped his jet-black wings hard to get himself into the air, breaking through to treetops in hope of gaining speed and vantage over the pair.
"I told you it was a bad idea, Ash!" Parker griped in response, the nickname Aisling had told him to use slipping out of his mouth unnoticed by him. "But what's done is done, let's just focus on getting our of here." He risked a glance over his shoulder to see if the boy he'd seen was following them, but he didn't see anything. "Wait, where'd he go?" He could have sworn the boy was behind them somewhere, had he given up the chase?

Aisling looked around them. "I don't know. Don't stop now though, we can't risk anything." She grabbed Parker and ran faster and farther into the forest. She looked up as she ran for a little to see if there was anything in the sky. She could have sworn there was something there, but she couldn't be sure.

Luke beat his wings hard to overtake the other two hybrids, keeping an eye on them from above until he was sure he had enough space to cut them off. He swung his feet under him, diving feet-first back into the trees and landing on the ground in front of their path. "Would you two just wait a minute?" he called, somewhat frustrated with having to chase them down. They obviously had experience in avoiding human contact.
Parker let out a yelp and stumbled a bit as Aisling pulled on his hand, quickly steadying himself as he kept pace with her. "Don't worry about that, I'm not stopping anytime soon!" he replied, but it was at that moment that the boy he'd spotted earlier suddenly fell from the sky, landing a few yards away from him and Aisling. He dug his shoes into the ground to stop himself from crashing right into him, about to turn and sprint in the other direction when he realized that he, too, had large, dark wings on his back. He fell quiet, mouth agape in surprise. "Wait, what? What's going on here?"

Aisling skidded to a sudden stop as the other hybrid landed in front of them. She stood agape as she saw the wings on his back, but quickly snapped out of her shock and stood in a defensive position just in case. "Is this some sort of trick?" She asked rather calmly. Her Gaelic accent not very present as she spoke either.

Luke shook his hands, letting his wings fall into a naturally folded position, still clearly visible but not spread out so they took up space or attracted unwanted attention. "It's not a trick, I promise. I'm guessing the two of you also came from the Schools?" It was a typical story for the bird kids; they were born and raised in the Schools before inevitably making their escape either by themselves or in a group, like in Luke's case. His gaze flicked between the two. "Did you escape together?"
Parker tried not to galk at Aisling's abrupt change in accent, surprised at how good her American accent was when he'd grown used to her Gaelic one. He swallowed, turning his attention back to the other boy. "Yeah, we came from the Schools," he replied, relaxing some now that he knew they at least shared some common ground. He dropped Aisling's hand, slipping both hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Who're you?"

Aisling folded her arms across her chest when Parker let go of her hand. She was still cautious of this hybrid, but relaxed a bit. "No, we didn't escape together." She slipped back into her native accent now that she was a bit more relaxed. She too let her wings relax, making her hoodie stretch a bit in the back where her wings where.

"I've been out for a while now." Aisling replied softly. She glanced over to Parker briefly, then shifted her glance back to Luke. "I'm Aisling, Ash for short if you would prefer to call me that. And he does ask a good question," pointing back to Parker, "aren't you worried about humans finding you?"

Ducky gave a soft nod, "if you change your mind I won't mind making you a sandwich or something." Ducky gave Sunny one last glance before padding into the kitchen. Ducky sighed softly and began to make himself some lunch.
Jib was back on the cabins roof her gray and white wings spread out, soaking up the afternoons light.

Ailsing's eyes widened a little. "There are more out here?! That is great to hear." She smiled a little, thinking of how many there could possibly be free from the Schools. "Where do you all live out here? It must be pretty hard to find if none of the Schools have found a mass group of our kind in these woods yet."

Luke looked pleased that she was interested in the Flock. "Yeah, there's lots of us, actually! And we come from all different places, too," he explained. "My sister and I found this cabin deep in the woods a few years back. No one ever comes close to us, and we can go back and forth to town when we need supplies! I can show it to you, if you want!"
"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there, kid," Parker interrupted, voice hinting at condescension. "I can see where this is going, and I'm not interested in joining your little club or whatever it is. I get that you're not human, that's cool, but if you had been, and you'd seen me on the shore? I'd be exposed, and so would all of your friends in your silly little cabin. You think that's safe? You can't hang around here if you want to survive." He crossed his arms, pushing past Luke as he started to walk away. "I'm going to the next city, and I'm going to keep doing what I've always done because that's how I survive."

"Parker wait!" Aisling called after him. "There are more of us, safety in numbers. Give Luke and the others a chance before you go back to what you were doing before. At least just meet them if anything so if they do come to town you can help then if they need it." She uncrossed her arms and hoped he would listen, but had a feeling he would just argue with her idea.

"I have been on my own for six or so years now! I'm just saying to come meet the others. How long has it been since you last saw any of our kind not locked away in dog crates or being experimented on?" Aisling raised her voice slightly, her accent gone once again as she got a bit frustrated at Parker. Her wings flared out a bit and fluffed up as well, but remained under her hoodie. It just looked like a huge bulge on her back with the jacket covering them up. "Parker, this might be the only other time we can talk to more of our kind and learn new things. I'm not asking to stay with them, but give them a chance at least, or are you going to be as cold as an Eraser is?" She spat the last word out.
