Parker simply offered her a rather unimpressed look in response, but kept his hands where she could clearly see them. "Would it kill you to chill out for a second?" he grumbled, mostly to himself. Giving his head a shake, he added, "Look, I'm not going to rat you out. I've got them too. The wings, I mean. I didn't think I'd ever meet someone else like me, but, well, the world just loves to screw me over." He quickly glanced around the nearby woods to make sure no one else was around, letting out a breath when it appeared that they were alone. It was hard to know if she'd been followed by scientists or Erasers or something else entirely, but the woods were quiet, for now. He reached down and quickly pulled the hoodie over his head, letting it fall to the ground at his side so that his bright blue wings were clearly visible. "I just need to know where you came from, in case you were followed, alright? Your accent screams Ireland, but, you know, better safe than sorry and all that." He didn't seem horribly worried about the situation now that he was sure he wasn't in imminent danger, standing rather lazily and not really bothering to watch her too closely. With his hybrid endurance and durability, it would be hard to do much damage with just a tree branch.

"I'll be back in a couple hours mom!" Danny called out as he slammed the front door and headed down the side walk. Ben his well mannered begal black lad mix trotted after him. Today was a warm day a nice day to take Ben out for a walk and a awesome day to go out into the forest for a run. Danny make his way through town quickly. Danny did stop at a couple stores to check things out but soon Danny and Ben found themselves at the forests entrances. Bens tail wagged as he bolted into the forest barking like a mad man. "Ben stay close!" Danny raced after his usually well mannered dog.

Aisling lowered the tree branch and relaxed a little as she saw the bright blue wings of the other hybrid. "Are you mad?! Hide those wings of yours now, before someone does come by!" She hissed softly as she jumped down from her spot. "And if it isn't obvious from my accent I'm from Ireland. I've been out of the Schools for a while now and made sure I wasn't followed or discovered. So you can relax a little there." She dropped the branch and walked over to the stranger to pick his hoodie up, her cold anger slowly dissipating and being replaced by her normal guard. "The name is Aisling. Call me Ash for short." She said with a small smile and a flick of her hair over her shoulder.

Parker rolled his eyes at this; he knew these woods, and no one ever came around at this time of day. Still, he didn't argue, and obediently scooped up his sweatshirt off the ground and pulled it back over his head. "Don't complain. It worked, didn't it?" The goal had been to get her to stop threatening him with a tree branch, and he'd achieved his goal. He ran a hand through his hair to get the stray strands out of his face, placing one hand on his hip as he faced her fully. "I'm Parker, I live around here. Well, 'live' is a bit of an overstatement." He sighed, shaking his head. No point in getting into those specifics. "Anyway, Aisling," he continued, deliberately ignoring the nickname she'd offered him to use, "if you're so worried about humans I suggest you move elsewhere. If you didn't notice already, there's a pretty big town not that far from here, and I've worked too hard blending in to let someone else shake that up for me. It's not easy to find a place with work that doesn't require committment or personal information, you know, and I'm not exactly recognized by the state."

It was Aisling's turn to roll her eyes. "I'm not worried about humans in a big town that much. I stay for a while, get what I need and move on before anything starts to... well, you know the deal." She crossed her arms over her chest and looked over Parker fully for the first time. "If you are trying to blend in here then you might want to actually stay closer to the town so no one suspects you to be a homeless person living in the woods." She proceeded to stretch her arms above her head and pull her long hair over one shoulder and play with it. She wasn't that scared of Parker anymore now that she knew he was like her and didn't mean to hurt her. "I'm not going to be here long anyway, just stopping to rest and get a few things." She huffed. Her hands stung a little from punching the trees earlier.

Aisling put her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "I was sparing with a tree earlier. I thought the trunk was smooth, but I guessed wrong. I'll be fine." She shrugged it off as if it was nothing. Her overall demeanor changed to a more relaxed one now that she was talking. "So what do you do out here to survive?" She asked, genuinely curious.

"You punched a tree?" Parker rephrased, frown deepening slightly at this. He didn't push further, though; it wasn't his place to tell her how to live her life. He glanced toward the deeper parts of the woods, where he knew there was a cabin nestled in the trees. Someone's vacation home, probably. "I fix things, deliver things, you know, odd jobs," he replied. "Jobs that don't require me to give away too much personal information, and let me make a bit of cash on the side. I don't make friends with humans, and I stay away from crowded places, and away from the cabin in the woods." He nodded his head toward the direction of the place he was talking about. "I only got close once, but it was full of what sounded like noisy teenagers. Probably some rich kid and his friends throwing a party in his rich dad's vacation home or something. I never saw anyone leave the place, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out who it was or how many there were. It's probably empty now, but better safe than sorry. Can't risk a bunch of kids turning me into this town's newest cryptid." He snorted at this, as though this was his idea of a good joke, but he didn't pause to see if anyone had found it funny. "I'd suggest avoiding it if you can, but hey, it's your call. I'd also suggest you stop punching trees, but I won't keep you from having fun if that's how you enjoy spending your time." His voice was laced with a thin layer of sarcasm as he spoke, though his expression wasn't malicious.

"I got to keep up my strength and there was a tree I could spar against." Aisling huffed. She shook her head to move her hair back over her shoulder, resulting with a few loose strands staying in her face. "You know our healing rate is faster than a normal humans, my hands will be fine by the end of the day. And If there is a crowd of rowdy kids in that direction I am staying as far away as possible." She said glancing back in the direction of the cabin. "I'm glad you found work. Just be careful not to stay for long. I would hate to have any of our kind who are free fall back into the evil hands of the School." She shuddered at the thought of the experiments they used to do when she was still there, and at the possibility of what they might do if they caught any of the hybrids that had gotten free.

Danny trotted after his dog, his black, brown and white form quickly disappeared into the undergrowth leaving Danny in the dust and now lost in the thick forest. Ben had had led Danny off the trail and into a thick grove of maple trees. "Ben?" Danny called. Ben never ran off, he usually stayed close to Danny, but they had never been to this part of the forest. "Great." Danny mumbled under his breath. Danny trudged on hoping he was heading back to the train but unknown to him he was heading seeping into the forest. The forest Danny bought he knew very well.

Aisling sighed softly. "I've been out for what feels like six years now." It was indeed a sensitive topic to talk about, and to match the sensitivity her voice softened. "I never want to see another place like that ever again." She shuddered once more as she spoke. "Be careful. Our kind need to be free and safe."

(Hmm I think it would be interesting to have Sunny run into Danny/Ben so I might unfreeze just her for now. I'm still hesitant to unfreeze Luke and Mira because people are gone for the holidays but I can unfreeze Sunny.)
Sunny watched with a smile as her housemates continued to play the game, glancing briefly out the window. It was a nice day outside, and her wings were starting to get restless pressed up against the wall. She pushed herself to her feet, smoothing her pale yellow dress over her leggings as she did. "I'm gonna go for a quick walk, don't wait for me," she murmured quickly to Ducky, making her way toward the cabin's front door and slipping outside. Once out, she began to wander through the trees, still close enough to home that she was comfortable with having her wings free and exposed. She'd carefully cut slits into the back of it to allow room for her wings to fully extend, and she stretched them to their full length, nearly 10 feet across from tip to tip, as she walked. She paused at the sound of nearby scuffling in the trees, however; it didn't sound havy enough or big enough to be a person; maybe an animal?
Parker found himself oddly at a loss for words at Aisling's remarks, sitting down in the cool grass and propping himself up on his hands. Upon meeting the girl, he'd treated her the same way he'd treat any other person, coldly and not so friendly, as this was an easy way to avoid making friends who would nose into his business. The fact that she was a hybrid like himself changed things, just a bit. He'd always kept others at arms length for the sake of hiding his true identity, but with another bird kid, there wasn't much point of trying to hide. The brief thought flashed through his mind that Aisling could be his only chance at having a real friend, but then again, neither of them were planning on sticking around for the long term. Not to mention, he'd never once had a friend in all his twenty years of life, and he wouldn't know where to begin when it came to getting along with others. He sighed, tipping his head back so his blond bangs fell out of his eyes, and noted the scrapes on her hands once more. "You know, if you just leave those there, with all the tree bark and dirt and stuff in them, it could make you really sick," he pointed out. "I keep a little rubbing alcohol with me for stuff like that. I could lend you some if you want, just to be safe."

(Ooo, this is going to be interesting!)
With a loud bark Ben leaped out of the bushes and tackled Sunny to the ground giving her a slobbery kiss across the face. The medium sized dog wasn't frightened of the wing child at all. Danny stumbled through the forest, Ben had been quiet for a while now and Danny was getting frightened. His mom was going to kill him if he lost Ben. His sister would most likely cry for days and his dad oh boy his dad would make him search the woods until he found the dog dead or alive. Danny paused and looked around the forest around him was thick, untouched by humans...and a medium sized dog. Finally Ben gave off another bark, it was his happy bark. "Thank goodness." Danny whispered before starting his way where he though the bark came from. Ducky watched as Sunny went but he was to tired to follow, she would be back soon he was sure of it. With a soft yawn he watched Nova pick out the next person. Jib sat quietly where she was.

Sunny cried out in surprise as the dog suddenly jumped on her, feeling a brief but potent strike of terror that she was being attached by an Eraser or something equally terrifying. However, her fear quickly dissolved into giggles of surprised glee when she realized it was actually a dog on top of her. She'd always loved dogs, but it was hard to come across any when you lived so far out in the woods. She rubbed the dog's head playfully, managing to scoot out from underneath it so she was sitting cross-legged on the ground with the dog in front of her. "Hey there, boy, what're you doing out here?" she asked with a friendly smile, wondering if he was a stray or a runaway or something like that. Spotting a collar around his neck, she fingered the tag attached to it. "Ben, huh? Are you lost, Benny?" She tacked on the nickname almost instinctually, filled with childlike wonder and happiness at just being able to be close to such an animal. Sure, they had Kellen's kitten, but she was different from a dog.

Ben flopped onto his back, his tail thumping wildly on the forest floor. The family dog had taken a almost immediate liking to Sunny. Danny paused again hoping Ben would bark or make some kind of sound again. Danny wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed softly. At least he was getting his exercise in for today. Danny was just about to call out for Ben again when he thought he heard a voice far off to his right and the telltale sound of Bens tail thumping on the ground. Looks like Ben found a firend all the way out here in the middle of the forest. Danny sighed and quickly made his was towards Bens tail thumps and the voice. Danny wished he could make friends as easily as Ben could. Danny finally got close enough to make out what the voice was saying, it was a little girl maybe around Anna's age. What was a little girl doing in the middle of the forest? Lost in thought Danny managed to trip on a root and in a not so elegant way fell, he landed with a solid thud just inches from Sunny and Ben. Ben not caring about his owner just wanted belly rubs.

Sunny let out a less-than-elegant shriek as Danny suddenly tumbled out of the trees, blue eyes going wide with panic as the realization of what this meant hit her hard. Of course, of course the dog was with someone, and here she was, out in the open, fully exposed and with nothing to cover her wings given how she hadn't thought anyone would come this far into the forest. She scrambled to her feet and hastily stumbled backward, likely startling Ben in the process. She gave a hasty but strong flap of her wings, simply hoping against all reational thought that somehow Danny hadn't seen her bright blue feathers. While she herself had never had a truly bad encounter with humans aside from the scientists at her School, she'd heard the warnings over and over, mostly from Mira, about how it was an extremely bad idea to show your wings to a human. She clung to a high tree branch, wings snapping as flat as she could against her back as she stared down at Danny through the tree's thick leaves. This is bad, this is so, so bad! she thought to herself frantically, knuckles white as the gripped the tree's branch far tighter than was necessary. Mira's going to be so worried when she finds out... we'll have to move somewhere else. This is all my fault, I shouldn't have been so careless." She bit her lip as thoughts of regret and self-disappointment filled her mind, chest tightening in fear at the thought of being the reason the Flock would have to uproot their somewhat comfortable life here.

Danny had never had his breath knocked out of him twice before, once from his less than elegant fall and from seeing this girl with bright blue wings. Danny felt like he was in some sort of movie or book. Ben on the other hand had only been slightly frightened and was now barking at Sunny to get down and pet him some more. Danny lay frozen in his spot for a couple seconds, but he quickly regained his senses and his breath. He quickly got to his feet and brushed off his jeans, the only injury he had gotten from the fall was a small cut on his left elbow. "H-hey I'm not going to hurt you, I'm sorry I scared you." Danny called up to Sunny his voice stuttering slightly. "My names Danny Sweets and this is Ben my family's dog." Danny added softly. Ben had finally calmed down and was now sitting at the base of the tree whining loudly.

"Shh, be quiet!" Sunny hissed under her breath at Ben, still hoping there was chance to get away undiscovered, but this hope was quickly dashed as Danny called out to her. She froze like a deer in the headlights, mind whirring and heart pounding. Should I run? Try to scare him away? She doubted such tactics would work, though she was fairly certain she'd be able to escpae into the skies. Despite this thought, however, her quivering wings were firmly folded, and she couldn't seem to make them work the way she wanted to. She fought back a sudden wave of fear that nearly brought tears to her eyes. "G-Go away! I don't want to talk to you!" she called, but the initimidation she'd been hoping to convey instead resulted in a shaky, frankly miserable-sounding voice. She still refused to show her face, trusting the tree's leaves to at least somewhat hide her identity. Maybe if she moved fast enough, he wouldn't be able to get a good look at her before she was gone. Still, he at least didn't seem harmful. He definitely hadn't been hunting her and he didn't know who she was, which meant he wasn't affiliated with the School, so that was some small relief on Sunny's mind.

"Yes, of course," Kellen replied. "Let me go put up some real clothes real quick, then we can head out." He went back to his room and put on a pair of dark jeans, old beat up work boots, and a thick sweatshirt. Then, he slipped on Luke's long coat and made his way back out to meet Mira. Giving her a small smile, he opened the door to the cabin, "Ready to go then?" He asked, enjoying the cool breeze that met him as the wind blew through the open door. It was a good day for a flight.

Danny sighed softly at Sunnys response. It was like Danny was talking to Anna when she threw a fit. Danny slowly made his way to the tree and sat down next to Ben who was still waiting for Sunny. "I can't leave Ben here and knowing him he won't leave you all the way up there." Danny leaned his back against the tree and pulled out a chocolate bar, it was a bit melted but still edible. "Are you hungry? I have a chocolate bar you can have." Danny questioned softly. Danny stood and placed the slightly melted candy bar onto one of the lowest branches of the tree. Danny sat back down at the bottom of the tree. Danny was kind of coaxing Sunny down, all he wanted to do was chat with the young girl. Plus Danny was right when he said Ben wouldn't move until she came down.

(Haha, it's alright! A lot of people have been gone for the holidays on a lot of the threads I'm active in, so I figured that was probably the case.)
Mira nodded at his question, her own coat tied around her waist for now until she would need it. She cast a final glance at the group playing cards in the lobby room, but Sunny had disappeared. "Huh, maybe she took a walk," she murmured to herself, sounding slightly surprised but not really worried. At least, not yet. Sunny knew the rules quite well at this point, and Mira trusted the typically shy girl to keep herself out of trouble. She may be only eight years old, but she was smart, and she knew how to handle herself. Giving her head a little shake, she followed Kellen out the door, closing it softly behind her. "If we take the time to fly for a bit, we should be able to make it into town fairly quickly," she thought aloud, her tone taking on a more serious and analytical edge.
Sunny didn't reply, but the promise of chocolate did pique her interest. She knew better than to take a stranger up on his offer of candy, but, well, it wasn't like she got to have a treat like that often, and she was only eight years old. Some things just happened to be universal. She leaned forward on her branch, spying the prize on a lower branch, and chewed thoughtfully on her lip. She wasn't sure if this was meant to be a trap, but he didn't seem overtly malicious, at least. And so, as quietly as she could manage, Sunny lowered herself down just low enough to be able to snatch the chocolate up before retreating to a branch just out of reach. Her wings remained firmly pressed against her back, hiding her blue feathers as much as she could without a coat or sweatshirt to cover them, but she wasn't trying to fully hide herself anymore. She flipped the candy bar over in her hand, frowning. "What do you want?" she asked, voice soft and still scared, but now with a hint of curiosity in it.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Kellen replied, before taking off his coat, realizing it would just inhibit his wings since they were going to be flying for a little bit. He carefully folded the coat over his arm, and stretched, letting his wings unfurl to their full length. "Never get tired of that feeling," he said with a smile at Mira, before raising his eyebrows challengingly. "Race ya!" And he began running, before taking off as he flew through the forest.

Danny watched Sunny curiously as she snatched the chocolate bar from the branch and retreated just out of reach. Bens tail thumped the ground as Sunny got closer. "I just want to ask you some questions." Danny said softly as he padded Bens head. "You don't have to answer if you don't want too." Danny added quickly. Danny thought of his first question rather quickly. "What's your name?" He asked softly. "Do you live in the forest by yourself?" Danny didn't mean to bombard Sunny with questions but he was very curious. Ducky looked out the window, Sunny hadn't came back yet. He had thought she was just going out for a stretch or something. Ducky shrugged softly and leaned back against the cabins wall.

Mira, not prepared to be suddenly challenged to a race, took a few seconds to process Kellen's words before she reacted. "Oh, come on! Why is it always races with you people?" she called after him, mostly joking as she quickly took off after him, brown hawk wings leaving feathers in her wake. Lucky for her, her small stature combined with the wings of one of the faster known birds made it so she wasn't left entirely in the dust.
Sunny hesitated, carefully going over the implications of what her answers could mean before she spoke. "My name is Sunny," she said carefully, still fiddling with the unwrapped candy. She tore the packaging open slightly, peering inside, but still seemed apprehensive about actually eating it. She wanted to make extra sure it was safe before she took a bite. "And I don't lie... by myself." She phrased the next answer very carefully, knowing that it was already dangerous enough to let him in on the fact that there were other people, possible like herself. "I live with my family. They don't like it when humans see us. Neither do I."

Danny pondered Sunnys answers for a second, there were more people like Sunny here. People that apparently don't like humans in their forest. People that could ambush him at any moment. "Who says I was human?" Danny joked softly trying to break the tension that he didn't even know was building. Danny gave a slightly nervous chuckle. Ben flopped down to his side and yawned, as if he was bored of this conversation. "Since I asked you a bunch of questions you can ask me a bunch of questions if you want." Danny didn't want to make this conversation all about her and her family maybe she would warm up to Danny if she found out more about him and his family. They weren't anything special. His mom worked as a nurse and his father did some boring job that had to do with a lot of numbers. Anna could sing the alphabet backwards while Danny could not. But Anna was freaky smart for her age, she could do a lot of stuff Danny could not.
