The man sighed and reluctantly stepped back. “You don’t seem like you’re hiding anything, so you may pass. Just remember this, we will be watching carefully.” He said as he walked back to his dragon and face the order to open the gates.
Drake grunted as the beasts started coming in. “This isn’t gonna be easy!” He said with a growl. He was putting his energy into the barrier, so either the dogs would have to channel his power through them or something similar if they wanted to go on the offensive.

Laugai smiled a little before looking to the now open gates. Raiden walked through his paws landing with soft thuds upon each step. He looked around curiously, studying the city. It looked friendly enough, though people kept looking at his dragon companion. Turning back toward the man and his dragon, he asked "So, is it just thieves and killers plaguing this place? I'm surprised hunters haven't hit here."
Everyone started fighting, working off of each other to keep the monsters from the entrance. The statues had begun moving too, stepping through the fire to attack, stepping on the attackers or throwing them aside into the flames. They kept coming though, sneering and snarling as they tried to get inside, where the process was beginning to pick up speed as Ma'ait slowly started changing form to a blacker color. Still no metal though.

“We’re one of the lucky ones.” The man replied, watching the pair. “We’ve has some close calls, but any hunters that near here are... dealt with.” He replied. “Please enjoy your time in the city.”
Drake was still putting his energy into the barrier, starting to sweat. “Come on Mysha....” he whispered.
Shard was still breathing out black fire before having to take a short break to build another barge and releasing another plume. All the while he kept an eye on his mate. He wouldn’t let anything happen to her that was serious. Even if it meant negating the mission.

"Dealt with." Laugai hummed at the words, which hadn't actually been his own. Patting Raiden's neck, he shrugged his shoulders a little before saying "Well, what if I get robbed or murdered? I think it's only fair that you show me around? For protection or whatever."
Mysha listened to the fighting outside as she watched the procedure. Ma'ait had slumped down, the black substance exposing her bones in some areas as it slipped off her frame. It seemed to finally be getting denser though, moving slower. Magna whimpered worriedly, jumping as she heard more shrieking and yelling from outside. "Hurry, papa," she said softly, scared.

The gatekeeper gently shook his head. “I’m sorry but I cannot leave my post. But if you travel down into town, you’ll soon come across a large building with “Scales and Hands Hotel” and ask for Alekar. He’ll be sure to show you around.” He replied. “Please, enjoy your time here.” he said, then turned and resumed his post without another word.
“I’m trying, little one.” Shard replied as he continued spewing out flame. Seeing his mate in such a state made him more than nervous. His muscles were twitching and he was barely restraining himself from rescuing his mate.
Meanwhile, Drake continued to hold of the barrier, but grunted each time something hit the barrier. “THIS NEEDS TO END SOON!” He called out to everyone.

Laugai pouted a little. No fun. Sighing, he had Raiden head toward the inn. The large dragon was able to easily navigate, stepping over things and individuals. Eventually, they came across the inn. Scales and Hands, Laugai glancing at Raiden. The Sun Celestial hummed before shrinking. And shrinking. And shrinking. Now the size of a large dog, he followed Laugai inside.
Beta glanced as Drake spoke, unable to do much. He then glanced as one of the guards shouted, a monster slipping past. Then another, and another, the statues and other guards too occupied to try and get them. More were slipping past, and Beta turned to Drake. "Should we retreat inside?"

The inside of the inn was covered in star-shaped lights and a big moon in the center of the common area. The inn clerk looked up as she heard someone enter and she smiled. “Good afternoon, sir. Welcome to Scales and Hands. Is there anything I can help you with?” She asked in one of the kindest, nicest voices possible.
Drake nodded, and the spell circle beneath his feet changed. “Let’s do that!” He said, then converted all the defensive power of the barrier into offensive and sent out a mighty plume of black flame towards the enemy, and also destroying the border. “Everyone! Back into the cave! We can defend better at the bottleneck!” He shouted, then made a few hand signs and his shoes were covered in black flames, as were the feet of every combatant on their side. This gave them a bit of a speed boost and Drake ran back towards the cave everyone else was in, roasting enemies on his way.

Laugai shrugged, studying her. "Looking for someone named Alekar, apparently. Said I'd be shown around." He offered a polite smile before looking over at Raiden, who was examining the inn. Laugai then turned his attention back to the employee.
Everyone started hurrying back down the tunnel as more monsters swarmed the barrier, making it through at the cost of some soldiers and wounds. Storming down the tunnel, they sneered and hissed as they charged the soldiers, who began fighting back. The statues stayed at the entrance though, to try and slow down the flow.

Raina leaned against the counter lazily, a pint in his hand. He hadn't taken a single sip of the wretched liquid in the cup, it was simply there for him to fit in. In all honesty, the young man hated the tasted of alcohol. He watched the newcomers arrive with careful attention, a curious look in his eyes. Who were they? Why were they here? Simply shrugging, he continued to watch as interest was sparked in him.

The inn clerk instantly nodded as soon as the man said who he was looking for. “Of course, sir. Allow me one moment.” She said, allowing one of her coworkers to cover for her while she quickly walked off somewhere in the employee area and then returned soon after, saying. “He’ll be right down. Oh, and his dragon too.” She added before going right back to work.
Soon enough, a man dressed in rather nice casual wear descended the stairway, with a small dragon perched on his shoulder, tail wrapped around the man’s neck before draping over his opposite shoulder. The tiny dragon was a shimmering silvery-gray, with bright blue eyes. Despite it’s size, the dragon gave off a powerful, nearly palpable aura that Raiden was sure to be able to feel. The man walked over to Laugai and smiled, holding out his hand. “Hello. I’m Alekar, son of the inn’s owner.” He said, quite happy and cheery. “May I ask what your names are?” He asked, indicating both Laugai and Raiden. The dragon perched on his shoulder, apparently female, didn’t take her eyes off Raiden.

(Ahh, sorry for liking your post- bad habit)
The man raised a brow, pretending to take a sip of the beer in his mug as he pressed the rim to his lips. Glancing back at the pair every so often, he studied the dragon atop the newcomer's shoulders. He'd never seen one that size...peculiar, he thought to himself.

Once all the surviving soldiers made it into the cave, Drake reformed the barrier and this time put even more magic into the barrier to thicken it and make it harder to break or pass. “Hurry up Shard! This is our LAST chance!”

Laugai arched a brow. Hm. So this guy had some sort of status at least, apparently being the son of the inn's owner. "Nice to meet you, Alekar. I'm Laugai, and this is Raiden." He nudged the dragon with his leg, the white-gold dragon saying "Hello." Yes, Sun Celestials spoke. Well, not commonly, only a few did if they could manage to grasp the concept of language. Raiden seemed to be more focused on the female, not phased by her aura. Curious mainly. Laugai then spoke to Alekar "Hopefully the guard that sent me didn't send me for nothing, if you'll be up to showing me around?"

Mysha heard the fighting get closer, but she could see Ma'ait starting to progress a little more. The liquid had almost completely hardened, slowly beginning to reattach to the body of the host as a soft metal for now.

Raina nearly fell out of his chair upon realizing the greeting had come from the dragon. Both shocked and excited, he grinned. The man placed some coin down beside his unfinished drink before trotting over in a friendly manner. Clearing his throat, he smirked sheepishly. "My apology for the intrusion, but did- err, did your dragon just speak, sir?" asked the black-haired man curiously.

Alekar looked at Laugai as he spoke and then turned to Raiden as the dragon spoke. He looked surprised for a moment, but not terrified at all. He’d heard of dragons such as Raiden, and their many many capabilities. “I see. Well, it’s nice to meet you both. Especially you, Raiden. I’ve never gotten the chance to meet a Sun Celestial like you before.” He said. He then turned his head and appeared to whisper something to the dragon on his shoulder, who appeared to understand and uncurled her tail and hopped off her human, and appeared to grow in size as she jumped to the floor.
She was soon the same size as Raiden, and she cooed happily. “I’m Sizarla.” She replied, also able to speak the human tongue though hers was much more rough and unrefined. She circled Raiden once and smiled, soon returning to Alekar. “I’m a Moon Celestial dragon.” She added. The Moon Celestials were much more common than the Sun Celestials, but they were also much more skittish and less powerful. They also couldn’t get as big as the Sun Celestials.
Alekar looked over as someone at the nearby bar jolted and then burst into their conversation. “There’s actually a fair number of species that can speak the human tongue if trained.” He commented with a light shrug.

Drake continued to hold the barrier up, though he was slowly tiring, and he tried to gather as much magic from around him as possible.
Shard was nearly out of power, able to only give two more billows at best. The process had taken a lot more out of him than he thought. He took another deep, deep inhale and blew out at the material, glancing at Pyre as he too joined with his tiny, far weaker plume.

The young man looked genuinely surprised as the second dragon grew, then spoke as well. He blinked slowly a few times, making sure he understood the words that were just spoken by the man. "That's quite...amazing, actually," he managed, examining the dragons with a genuinely gleeful look. "Would you mind if I took a few notes...?" Raina questioned nervously, shakily slipping a leather book from a satchel. "I'm Raina, by the way."

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》 Laugai listened curiously as Sizarla spoke. It had been some time since he had seen a Moon Celestial. "You'll need to tell me how you came across her, sir." He smiled before turning to the other man that showed up. Nodding once, he said "Yes. Raiden can speak seventeen different languages, that I have heard of." They did a lot of traveling, and not everyone spoke english. He then nodded as Raina introduced himself. Raiden sniffed at Sizarla, his four wings twitching once as he examined her. Most dragons did not speak the human tongue these days, so he could already tell she was quite smart. "Very nice to meet you." He bowed his head in a polite gesture of greeting. AshLightning Mysha stared as Ma'ait slumped again, though her movements were stiff. The material finally finished hardening though. Did that mean they had to make the chains themselves? Ugh. Huffing, she went to go join Drake, hefting her spear just in case. "We need to buy Ma'ait time to rest, and then see about getting her out of here. She won't be able to om her own from what I'm seeing."

Raina grinned gratefully before pulling out a worn down stick of charcoal and flipping to a blank page. He began to sloppily scribble on the paper, fascination in every glance at the two dragons. It wasn't every day he came across something this magnificent.

Alekar’s eyes blinked a few times. “Seventeen languages? Now that’s impressive.” He said, glancing at the two dragons as they got acquainted. He looked at Raina as he started scribbling and he tipped his head. “Curious about dragons?” He posed aloud.
Sizarla watched as Raiden gave such a polite and gentle greeting and she giggled happily, lightly nuzzling the male’s shoulder in hello. “Such a gentlemale.” She said happily, if not a bit teasingly. She then sat down and looked the male over, trying to see if he had any battle scars or anything. “Can I ask where you’ve been in your travels? Surely you must have traveled a lot to learn all those languages.” She said, tail twitching happily.
Drake nodded. “Same for Shard. He’s more than spent.” He said, watching as Shard slumped as well. “If only there was a hidden back passage.” He said with a loud dragon-like growl and continued to pour his magic into the barrier.

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》 Laugai studied Raina. He must not have had much exposure to dragons if he was like this. Or just ones that spoke anyway. Shrugging, he turned back to Alekar and said "Soo... wanna show me and Raiden around? We might stay for a few days." Probably. Maybe? Who knew. Being stationary was never good for them. Raiden had no scarring or wounds. If affected by little weaponry and the like, he healed quickly. Bigger weapons were a different story, a story he would tell some other day. When asked about himself, he glanced over at Laugai, who gave the slightest shake of his head despite not looking back at him. "My people are a very scholarly folk." That was half of the truth. "Thirteen languages were taught to me at home." He seemed to smile. "But I have a bit more up my sleeve, and not just more languages. We have been many places. To all corners of the world. Deserts, forests, tundras. It's been quite something." He didn't necessarily state why they traveled to so many places though. AshLightning Mysha shook her head. "The entrance is the exit." She then looked around, unsure of what to do. Something happened though, causing the creatures to lurch to a halt, stepping back. Narrowing her eyes, she watched confusedly as they stepped aside for someone.

((Hey Smoke, don’t forget Kingdom of Secrets if you have time))
Alekar looked back to Laugai and nodded. “Oh yes! Sure, I’ll show you two around!” He said chipperly. He looked at Raina and then back to Laugai. “Mind if Raina comes along?” He asked. “He’d probably gain a lot of insight if he came along.” He said as he walked towards the exit.
Sizarla smiled at her friend, though she noticed he was keeping something back. But she didn’t question it, having secrets herself. She got up as Alekar started walking towards the door. “Come on Raiden! I can show you around too while we’re with the humans!” She said.
Drake watched as the beasts suddenly stopped and he took the opportunity to roast a number of enemies near the barrier. Hey, if they let their guard down it wasn’t his problem. He kept the barrier up, watching as someone advanced. Even the male dragons looked over, confused as to why everything suddenly stopped.

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》Laugai nodded. "Of course he can." He smiled politely at Raina before moving to leave the inn. Perhaps he and Raiden would stay the night. They certainly had the means of payment, and he mentally frowned whatever memories he was recalling. "Let's get going, huh? What's first?" Raiden followed after Sizarla, trotting beside her as they walked after their humans. "So," he spoke, his voice bordering a light semi-baritone. "Where are you from? I hadn't seen any Moon Celestials save for when the elders met with our Sun Elders." Peacefully, thank goodness. AshLightningNone of the monsters moved even as some were burned. They made way as someone walked down the tunnel, flanked by two guards. Blackened skin from scorching, but wearing armor and an axe at its side. Vaguely resembling a male, looking in their direction. "This... game is... futile... for you." The voice was weak and raspy, having a scorched throat probably not helping.

“Well, I’d say the best place to start is the town center. The entire town is built around the center, so it serves as a good starting point. And orientation point if you find yourself lost.” He replied as he struck off towards the town center.
Sizarla looked around as they walked, the female nodding to the different dragons she passed. At Raiden’s question, she tilted her head and paused. “Well... I was hatched up high in the mountains a ways away. At the same time, Alekar found me as a hatchling. This was on the night of the full moon, and my parents were out and about flying and such. But when they returned and saw Alekar, they were furious! Until they saw we were actually playing together. They assumed it was destiny that we met, and I was allowed to come with him here when I was old enough.” She replied.

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》 Laugai nodded a little. "Town center it is then." He walked beside Alekar as they made their way through the city, silent for a moment before asking "So, what was this place like before all the strict security?" He glanced over curiously. Raiden listened as Sizarla told her story. "Lucky you found someone like Alekar, let alone being able to leave with him." His tail waved a little before continuing "It was the other way around for me, somewhat. I found Laugai, freshly slipped from the womb. Left to die it seemed." Some cruel hand just decided to leave the crying infant in the woods for the animals, he supposed, not even considering an orphanage. AshLightning The creature held up his hand, and some unseen force caused the flames to dissipate. "That won't... work." At least not while the creature was alert. Turning to the others, they waited for his command. Not yet. "... our master... has your... little dragon. We would... like an exchange."
