Scaws looked around, nervously settling on his dad’s back, while Pyre seemed to be giggling excitedly. Shard glared at the humans as he got to his paws and helped his children settle, waiting for his mate’s rider to lead the way. Magna watched from Shard's back as they followed the humans. She looked around for Xandrite, but she hadn't returned yet. So, she just watched curiously. The humans seemed to be leading them a ways from the main city, into some forestry. Eventually, they came up upon some huge cave thing, with two gigantic dog statues guarding the entrance. |

Shard looked at his mate as they walked behind the humans and automatons. “Sweetie, make a cage or something around the kids. I don’t care if it’ll singe me or anything.”
Drake continued to walk with his wife and the others, looking around as they went.

Ma'ait blinked slowly, trying to figure out how she'd even do that without harming the kids too. She then extended her wing over them a little, a little folded as it began changing form, to a sort of liquidy sap. It spilled all over the kids and Shard's back, Magna squeaking as the sap rapidly began to harden. Ma'ait made sure their kids' heads weren't covered as to cause suffocation though.

Scaws barely put up a fuss as he was covered in the sap, actually finding it comforting and making him secure. At the same time, Pyre cried indignantly but quickly got settled down cause he knew that if he didn’t settle properly, he’d be frozen with his wings extended.

Mysha just stared as the kids were glued to Shard's back. She continued the trek down into the cave, greeted by all the stone dogs in the wide circle. Looking around, she had Ma'ait settle in the middle while studying Shard. "All we can do is try to combine the two materials and see what happens." The guards and automatons watched as Ma'ait began changing form, scales sagging and bubbling as she replaced herself with the glowing blood.

Shard watched his mate and he chirped softly to her. “Don’t overexert yourself, love.” He mumbled to her, then soon black flames sprung up around him and surrounded the amber cocoon, but not harming the kids. He prepared himself, building up a ball of black flame.
Drake stood beside his wife and he too started gathering energy, waiting until he had the opportunity to help.

Mysha watched the scene, Ma'ait becoming more of a melted state rather than a body, sagging form stumbling around a little. Her attention was drawn from her dragon though, when she noticed all the dogs in the cave turned their heads toward the entrance. As Ma'ait completely broke out into the glowing substance, Mysha could hear a very, very faint sound of shrieking and sneering. A collection of the sounds, actually, causing the guards to fidget with nervousness.

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》Laugai looked down at the world below, humming some old tune as his dragon trekked forward. Said companion, Raiden, was a massive beast. Ninety feet long and tall, with an even larger wingspan. His white form was decorated with natural hardened gold that created patterns. And inside such a beautiful beast was a brain that processed dangerous amounts of knowledge, as all Sun Celestial dragons did. Four emerald eyes took the world in for him, glancing back at his human who said "We should be coming up on a village or city soon, Rai. I'm in need of some supplies." The huge dragon merely grunted before looking ahead again. As long as they didn't take too long. It was dangerous for them to stay in one place for long.

“i’ll Go check, Mysha. You keep working on this!” Drake said, running towards the entrance to see what was happening.
Shard watched as Drake ran to the exit and he turned back to what was happening currently. The charge in his mouth was ready, he was just waiting for the order to proceed.

Mysha nodded once as Drake left before turning back toward the dragons. Ma'ait seemed ready, so she told Shard to try the fire.
Beta and a few guards followed Drake to the surface. There wasn't anything immediately seen, but the sounds were quickly becoming louder. Beta then pointed a finger ahead. You could see shapes moving through the trees, heading for their position. "Their master must sense our plan," Beta concluded.

Shard nodded and breathed out the black fire he’d been born with, making sure none of it touched the actual form of his mate. He let out billows of the flame towards the streams of the blood, focusing intently on the task.
Drake looked out into the woods in the direction Beta was pointing and his eyes narrowed. “Oh boy...” He muttered. He turned to Beta and nodded swiftly. “Good job, Beta. Thank you.” He said, then turned to the Dogs that were currently guarding the cave. He only had a short time before the battle arrived. He knelt down in front of the dogs and looked up at them, humbling himself before them. “Protectors of our Nation and our Inhabitants, I humbly ask you for your support and strength as we attempt to finish off this threat once and for all.” He said, glancing as Arcane bowed down in front of the Dogs too, as if asking the same thing. He then turned back towards the woods and he outstretched his arms, black flame springing up and swirling around him. “As the source of thy power and might, your King orders you...” He began his incantation, a black glowing spell circle appearing beneath his feet. ((He’s not talking to the Dogs in the last sentence, just beginning his spell))

The flames from Shard were recieved by the glowing blood. At first nothing happened, but eventually it seemed like the two materials were trying to meld together, but it was very, very slow. Mysha watched carefully, glancing back toward the entrance every now and then.
The huge statues merely looked down at Drake before looking ahead again. The human guards readied themselves too as those creatures from before broke through the treeline at an unsettling rate. Everyone held their ground though, as if too many got past and into the cave it would basically be sentencing those down there to die. They stopped a little ways past the treeline, and one in particular surveyed the area silently, empty sockets resting on the group before simply walking forward, weapon sheathed at its side.

A young man and dragon were standing by the large, wide entry gates to the town that the gigantic dragon and human were approaching. As the two approached, the man crossed in front to stand in front of the gate, blocking their path. “Halt, please!” He said in a low, commanding voice.
“...Decipher the laws of nature and provide a fiery barrier of darkness to defend myself and my targets! Midnight Barrier.” Drake said, finishing his incantation. Immediately, the ground in front of him, spanning from one edge of the stone walls leading to the cave to the other side splintered open and a large wall of black flames rose up, soon taking form and still burning. “Here we go! This is our last stand!” He said.
Shard continued pouring out flames, trying to hurry the process along however he could. He could hear the battle beginning to commence outside, so it was only a matter of time before something happened.

AshLightning 《Kᥲιrσʂ》Laugai looked toward where the voice had come from, raising a brow. He then looked down at Raiden, who seemed indifferent toward the situation. "Be nice," he whispered to the giant, who merely hummed in acknowledgement before pulling to a stop. Laugai looked up toward the other man again, saying "We're just passing through for some supplies, if there is somewhere here we can acquire such?" As he spoke, Raiden studied the guards along the wall, and any dragons that might've been there. AshLightningThe creature advanced toward the entrance, the huge statues crouching low in position to attack. The guards also readied themselves to protect the process happening inside. Speaking of, things seemed to be picking up, the fire causing the blood to change into a darker color and writhe around. It still didn't look like metal though. Magna watched worriedly, flinching a little as she heard the battle break out outside.

“Sorry, I can’t answer that right now.” The man replied. So far, no one seemed to be threatening the two at all they were just observing. “There have been reports of thieves, killers, and the like. And as much as I respect you and your Sun Celestial dragon, I have orders to check all identification. Do you have any on you?” He asked calmly yet with confidence. The dragon behind him just observed too, though he didn’t appear to be threatening either.
Drake watched as the monsters crawled towards them. Thats right.... come closer and touch the barrier... so you’ll be burned. He thought as he watched the battle commence.
Shard watched the substance as well, trying to put more energy into it. But at this rate, he’d be exhausted in only three hours, and who knew how long the process could take. Thankfully the moon phase was closer to a new moon, which meant his power was increased rather than hindered.

Honestly, had Laugai not been through what he had, he would've had Raiden, whose kind never stopped growing, mow down the walls. But violence got him where he was in the first place. "Look, we've come a long way and really just need somewhere to rest." AshLightningThe creatures on the ground were more likely to burn, but the ones flying and carrying others in the skies were probably less prone. Just as the first few burned themselves in the fire, catching fire as they charged through, dragons and other flying beasts started dropping soldiers from the sky.
