Her eyes filled with sympathy. "Oh honey I'm sorry." She said quietly. "But evading him won't make things better. Go fix things with him before its too late!" Her tone became much more optimistic

- "Nope, no, I can't do that," The Master replied, glancing over her shoulder again before he took her hand and began to pull her down the sidewalk, still looking panicked as he said, "um, I really, genuinely can't."

"Aww don't worry. Every couple fights." Irene smiled. "Come on where is he?." She stood up on her toes, trying to find a guy who looked like Will's type

- The Master was about to scream. She didn't get it. What human was so thick that they couldn't just...
His thoughts broke off as he felt a familiar, spindly hand on his shoulder. How'd he gotten behind him. Tensing, he said nothing as that perpetually perky idiot asked, "Hey, what are you doing?" The Master stepped away, standing next to Irene as he looked The Doctor over. Trench coat, wild brown hair, sneakers, concerned smile... no, the question was what was he doing?
"You okay?"
Oh, that sentence meant a lot more than The Doctor let on, and The Master knew that well. It really meant "hey, I just saw you get thrown back into the fiery pit of despair that is our home planet, how'd you make it out?"

Which doctor is this? 10?))
Irene smiled. "Hey there! You're Will's boyfriend?" She had no clue her lack of knowing just who these people were played into her seeming like a just another dumb. The way she saw it, they were just a regular couple who had a regular couple fight

{ ooc: yep! }
- For a moment, The Master thought that The Doctor was about to break his cover. The man looked apprehensive, and a "no" was clearly forming on his lips, but in between the pleading look from The Master and the oddness of the situation he must've figured it out, because after another moment he nodded and said, "Yeah, yeah I am. Hi, I'm John. And you are?"
The Doctor was in fact very confused, and kind of angry. He wasn't sure what The Master was doing, but he didn't want this poor Earth girl dragged into it. Along with the confusion and anger, well, he was in pain, an incredible amount of pain from all the radiation he had just absorbed. He'd been doing his rounds and seeing all of his old companions when this idiot's bio-signature had appeared on the TARDIS' readings, so of course he'd come. How they were going to get out of this one without making a big scene?

Irene held out her hand. "Irene." She smiled warmly, happy to finally meet this boy. "Don't worry, I've taken good care of Will and I hope you guys work through you're argument. I know a couples counseling place if you need" She said innocently.

- "Good, ah, thank you," The Doctor said, smiling as he gave her hand a shake before letting go, turning to The Master with that hand still outstretched. "Will, really, I am sorry. Are you okay?"
Apprehensively, with a glance at Irene, The Master took the hand, allowing The Doctor to pull him into a tight hug. He buried his nose in the man's shoulder, feigning a gentle touch when really he was mumbling, just loud enough to be audible above the street noise and fabric muffling his mouth, "You're dying. I can smell it."
The Doctor kissed his cheek, smiling softly as he hissed between those perfect teeth, "I can too." And they broke apart, The Doctor firmly linking himself with The Master with their elbows, eyebrows furrowing as he asked Irene, "So, how did you two meet?"

Irene resisted the urge to go Awww and politely took an interest in twirling her hair, trying not to pay attention. When she was spoken to, she looked up. "I found him half unconscious in the alleyway by my apartment." She said this so casually, like it wasn't that weird of an occurrence for her. Of course, it had been the weirdest thing she ever experienced, but didn't see the sense in making that known

- "Will!" The Doctor exclaimed, glancing sharply over at The Master, who really had to resist the urge to smack the freckles off of his face.
Instead he chuckled wryly, dipping his head as though embarrassed. "I, uh, had a bit to drink. I'm okay, really," he insisted. No, actually he'd fallen out of the sky and his body still felt like it had been hit by a freight train, but it was fine. Maybe they would both just bite the dust, right? Pity he hadn't, really. This face was nice and all, but the bleach was going to take forever to come out of his hair.
He was about to keep on talking when suddenly, like he'd been punched, The Doctor's hand flew to his stomach and he grunted in pain. There was the dying part. "Are you okay?" The Master asked, though he knew he wasn't.

Irene blinked. She hadn't smelled any alcohol on him-the first thing she suspected- and wondered if there was something he was hiding. But she dismissed it, seeing as it was not her place to question them. Concern filled her when the other man grunted in pain. "Oh no, don't tell me you're hurt!" She had genuine concern glowing in her eyes.

- "Ah," The Doctor grunted again, pushing his hand into his abdomen and shaking his head, "no, I'm not actually. Sorry, Irene, but I'm afraid that Will here hasn't been entirely honest with you."
"John!"
The Master felt his hearts jolt as The Doctor not only blew his cover, but imploded it. No, no, he vaporized it and then, for good measure, threw the scattered atoms into a star. But, there was no time to get even more mad than he already was, because The Doctor's hand had started to glow. "Okay, no, I haven't been honest, sorry. Quick explanation, we're not human and we have to go." He grabbed Irene's wrist without hesitation, his other arm around The Doctor as he hustled them into a nearby alleyway. "Where's your ship?" he asked The Doctor, who pointed shakily down the very alley they'd walked into, to where it stood.
How lucky they were, huh?

Now that was not what she had been expecting. Not in the slightest what she had been expecting. Her mouth hung open like an idiot. "Ship...not human?" Irene shook her head, feeling slightly annoyed that she had been lied to and slightly afraid she was now alone with two obviously insane men. She reached for the pocket knife she kept in her pocket, her fist closing around it but not yet drawing it out. "You boys better start explaining." Her sweet innocence had vanished into a cold hard woman who wanted answers

- "Oh, drop it. Literally, drop it. You couldn't open a box with that thing," The Master snapped, dragging both her and The Doctor down the alleyway. He'd seen the knife in her pocket earlier, and hadn't said anything. He couldn't moan about someone having weapons on them when he was the kind of concealed weaponry. The TARDIS whirred hesitantly as he dragged The Doctor to it. "Oh, don't be a jerk," he whined, "open up. I'm trying to be nice."
A pause, a flash of the inner lights through the windows, and then the doors swung open.

A stream of very unladylike swears rolled out of Irenes mouth and she could almost envision her mother making her eat the entire bar of soap for what she said. But she couldn't help it. "What...what...its a box but..." A hedgehog could spout wings and fly over her head mooing like a cow and she wouldn't have been as confused as she was now. She whipped out her knife. "What are you?"

- "'What are you?'" The Master mocked, letting go of The Doctor to flap his hands, only to have to turn and catch the man as he nearly fell forward, "look, Irene, you can either step into the box or I can drag you into the box, but my fool of a boyfriend is dying, so can we hurry up with the decision making, please?"
It felt so good to drop the act. He sure did hate humans, but the only thing that he hated more than humans was pretending to be a human. It was so hard. They were so simple and he was so... not.

She looked at John and felt her sympathy well up again like water filling a hole. She hesitated before stepping inside the blue box. It surprised her to see it was so much ridiculously bigger on the inside. But she decided it was more important to deal with the hurt person here. "You said he's dying. What's wrong with him?"

- "I don't know, I wasn't there," The Master mumbled, snapping his fingers to close the doors behind the woman as she came inside. He managed to drag The Doctor up to the console before dumping him in the jump seat. The man was sweating, eyes glossy as he stared at The Master. The man couldn't tell whether he was looking at him in shock, or if he actually was in shock, but he told him, "You're an idiot," before turning to the console, leaving the glowing man on the seat behind him.

Irene went over to the Doctors side, placing her hand on his forward. She frowned. "He needs a doctor." She turned to face Will. "If you actually love him - unless you were lying about you guys being lovers- you need to get him help, not call him names." She crossed her arms

- "He doesn't need a doctor," The Master said, pulling a lever to send them into the vortex before he turned back around. The TARDIS didn't rock and whir nearly as much as it did when The Doctor did it, but that was because The Master could fly it right. "He is a doctor, and like I've already established, we're not human."
He headed back over to The Doctor, crouching down and grasping one of his glowing hands. They made eye contact, mental contact. He was in such pain, but it was his fault, and The Master didn't really care anyways, so he just smiled and asked, "Why are you dying, then?"
A pause, and then a choked out, "Radiation."

Irene wasn't too sure how to act anymore. Things had gotten beyond weird to the point she almost thought she was just dreaming. "Radiation..." She echoed absentmindedly. Nothing really made a whole lot of sense. And Will's sudden change from a sweet boy to a cold one almost hurt her. She hated one thing above all and that was being used

- The Master sat there for a moment, just holding The Doctor's hand, before suddenly the glowing grew stronger. He stood, and in one swift motion grabbed Irene's shoulders, pulling her back. "Don't want to be next to him..." he mumbled, pushing her to the other side of the console. Through the rotor everything looked warped, the glow spread through the glass and The Doctor distorted as he stood, light pouring off of him now.
There was a sound of crackling energy, a scream, and in a bright flash it was all over, one of the coral-like columns caved it. The Doctor had seemingly disappeared, but as The Master crept around the console, he saw him laying on the floor with a new face, a young one this time.

Irene threw her hands up to shield her eyes. When she lowered them, she almost cried out in horror. She pointed at where the doctor had been. "What....WHAT?" Her voice rose a good two octaves higher and cracked. She was strangely fascinated and horrified all at the same time.

- "It's called regeneration," The Master explained, very slowly, as he knelt down next to The Doctor, reaching down and feeling for a pulse. He found it, and took his hand away, crossing his arms over his knees as he sneered up at Irene. "A biological process to keep our bodies alive after extreme trauma. It's not the most fun, but it works."
He moseyed his way back over to her, hands in his coat pockets as he looked her up and down as him for the first time. "You really shouldn't let random strangers that pass out in your alleyway into your house. You never know who you might pick up!"

Irene couldn't help it. She reached her hand back and slapped him as hard as she could. Tears of rage burned in her eyes. "I gave you everything. I gave you a home, food, clothing. And you repay that with some stupid advice like you're my dad?" She hissed at him. "Were you ever honest with me once?"

- The Master rolled his head as he recovered from the recoil, moving his jaw from side to side with a crack and a pop. She hit hard. He liked a girl with some spunk. "Uh, that was for all of six hours, and I was honest about liking the coat. Doctor! Are you awake yet?"
He danced his way back to the unconscious man, crouching down and poking his bony cheek with a spindly finger. A moment passed, and then The Doctor stirred, coughing as The Master put a hand behind his back and helped him sit up. "There we are, good as new! You look like a twelve-year-old."

Irene took a slow, deep, angry breath in, trying not to completely loose her cool. She looked at the boy. "He was older than that. Why is he a kid now? Does this regeneration reset him to be younger?" She was pretty sure this wasn't the case, seeing as the previous man looked far too different to be an older version of this kid

- "No," The Master replied, helping The Doctor get to his shaky feet. At least they were the same height this time. "Regeneration is completely controllable down to your atoms. If he wanted to be a blue, sixty-year-old woman with wings and webbed feet, then so be it! But, it is much easier to just go with the base human look. We came first though, isn't that right?"
He smacked The Doctor on the back. The man stumbled, but caught himself on the console, nodding with a strained, "Yes, that's true. Sorry if I... if I gave you a fright."

Irene stared at the two of them. Then, as if she completely lost her marbles, she actually laughed. "Gave me a fright? I nearly peed myself!" She exclaimed. She decided she liked this 'Doctor' but at the same time she also thought she liked. Until he lied to her and used her to get what he wanted

- This got The Doctor laughing too, floppy brown hair falling into his eyes, and the old man's clothes loose on his frame as his shoulders bounced, eyes crinkling up as he stared at her, grinning. "I'm glad you didn't, but if you would have I wouldn't have judged," he told her, pushing off the console and limping over to her, gently holding onto her shoulders as he asked, brow furrowing, "are you okay? I can imagine he's been giving you a hard time. This face is a bit more of a jerk than usual, I must say."
He gave The Master, who was still by the console, a pointed glare.
