{oh my gosh no, you're perfect. I thoroughly enjoy rping together c: }
Bash was on the verge of waking up but refused to open his eyes. If he did, that would mean that he'd have to float back to reality and face the consequences of falling asleep next to Jolene. As his eyes fluttered open, he turned his head to find her snuggled up close beside him. This could not be happening. "Oh god," he grumbled, still a bit tired from having to have woken up in the middle of the night. After he allowed himself to take in their present situation, he couldn't help but notice that they were almost touching underneath the covers. His mouth was slightly ajar in disbelief and he felt himself begin to panic. "Nothing.. happened, right?" he asked, purely confused. He didn't remember much about earlier that morning, other than the fact that she'd knocked on his door and he'd led up here. He lifted a hand to his eyes to block out the light from his windows, upset with himself. How could he let this happen?
Suddenly, all the events leading to their journey here came crashing down on him, and he couldn't help but laugh. "Never mind. For a second, I thought we did something that we shouldn't have." He didn't take a moment to watch her expression and got up out of bed. He didn't feel as snobby as he thought he would be. In fact, he felt just fine. Perhaps it had something to do with how scared she was. He thought about how frantic she was when he'd answered his door, and how he felt her hot tears smudge onto his chest. He looked over his shoulder and couldn't help but then turn his whole body to face her. He felt bad for the way he'd felt so relieved knowing that his actions were pure. He didn't mean anything hurtful by it, he just didn't like the idea of getting into his old habits with someone he barely knew.
Bash sat back down on the bed and wondered whether or not he should climb back into the warmth of the bed and keep her company. No, Bash. Snap out of it and tame yourself, he scolded in his head. Taking in the image before him, he felt himself draw in a patch of breath and hold it in, clamping down on his jaw. She almost seemed to glow in the sun's natural light that reflected through the windows. Without taking too much notice to what he was doing, he reached out a hand that seemed as if it was going to touch her, but instead in a flash movement ripped off the covers from on top of her and smiled devilishly. "I take it you slept well last night," he said teasingly as he got back up and made his way over to the stairs. "C'mon, let's get some breakfast and then I'll walk you back to your place." He halted on the first step down the stair case and turned to look over his shoulder. "Nice cactus bottoms, by the way," he added with a smug expression.

(awh thank you :') )
Jolene sat up in the bed, at first ignorant to what Bash eluded to when he asked what had happened last night. Her expression visibly changed when she realized it. Oh, gosh, no! She would never! Suddenly, she was very curious as to what type of guy Bash was if that was his first question when waking up beside someone. Perhaps Jolene didn't know him half as well as she thought she did. At least, she had figured he was a good guy. "Good" being completely arbitrary, of course. As he turned to face her, Jolene couldn't help but stare just a little bit. It wasn't her fault she was human! Ah, jeez, he was really attractive. Clenching her jaw, her mind was racing as she was looking up at him. She relaxed slightly as he reached towards her, drawing in a small breath. But he only threw the sheets back! With a squeak of surprise, Jolene drew her legs closer to her as the cold immediately enveloped her. That was just so rude! With a little pout, she replied, "They were on clearance." They were cute and they both knew it!
Jolene followed him down the steps, admiring the little apartment, as she hadn't noticed a thing when she arrived earlier in the morning. It was nice. Big. But horribly, horribly cold. She grabbed the blanket again, wrapping it around her shoulders. "You don't need to feed me." She attempted to politely decline, already feeling as though he had helped her more than anyone ever should.

Bash brushed off her polite decline with a swift hand motion, telling her not to worry. "Nonsense. It's the least I could do. Consider it your welcome present from me." He passed her a sweet smile over his shoulder as he opened the fridge and looked for what he could possibly make. "Hmm, let's see.. I have eggs. Eggs and bacon?" He closed the fridge and opened up his breakfast cabinet. "I also have pancake mix. I can make really cool shaped pancakes and add a few chocolate chips to them. We can add fresh fruit on the side if you'd like, but it's really up to you- and before you tell me you don't have a preference, yes. You do. I'm not taking no for an answer, so get your cute little butt over here and tell me what it is that I can make for us." He stiffened and squeezed his eyes shut while he had his back turned to her. He'd called her cute... Whatever.
Brushing it off, Bash turned around to face her as if he hadn't just said anything out of the ordinary. "So what'll it be, cactus pants?" He waved a spatula up in the air as he asked her this question, a smile spread across his face. He had yet to notice the fact that Jolene was quite uncomfortable in the cold room, but only because he always kept it this cold. Due to his ice sorcery abilities, his powers were stronger when his body temperature and surrounding air was kept at a constant cool rate. If anything were to happen to the guild, Bash would be in full preparation to help in any way he could at maximum effort.

("cute little butt" Jolene: looks at the camera like shes on the office okay heck yeah i love it when people make little mood board for the characters!! it helps u develop them and its super fun and can help others understand the characters aesthetic and stuff)
Jolene bit her lip and raised her eyes in shock at what he had said, putting a hand over her mouth as her eyes darted around. Did he just call her cute? Did he just call her butt cute? The girl bit back a smile. His slip up almost made her want to make fun of him. Not in a rude way! A teasing way, like he was when he made fun of her boxers. Quickly dropping her hand, and her expression, when he turned back around, Jolene walked over, leaning on the counter. "Pancakes sound like heaven." She replied with a wide smile. She hadn't imagined she would've been offered food as well as lodging when she had knocked on his door last night. She had just wanted comfort, and to feel safe again, even if he only provided it for a moment before she would have to go back to her room by herself. Jolene would've been okay with that. Probably.
"And please stop making fun of my pants!" Jolene pouted, folding her arms. "They're very cute, they were very cheap, and they're very comfortable. If we're being honest with one another, I think you're jealous." She joked, biting her lip as she smiled playfully. Gradually, her smile faded, and she was looking down at the counter. "Thank you." She said very softly, and it was obvious she was referencing much more than the breakfast.

{oh my god I LOVE the office sorry if I'm poofy and take longer to respond, I'm back and forth between watching the Bachelorette and working on my reply heheh}
Bash couldn't help but chuckle at her pouting. He took out the pancake mix and opened up the box before using his scissors to cut the bag open. "Yes, I'm very jealous that I don't own my own set of cactus boxers," he joked. He glanced over in her direction as he poured the pancake mix into a mixing bowl and raised a quizzical brow in her direction, his face still showing that playful smile. "He motioned for her to come over to him and help chop the fruit as he racked an egg on the side of the bowl and let the yolk slide onto the surface of the mixture. He then added a few more ingredients and mixed it together until it was a smooth texture with very little bit of clumps. He then stuck a finger into the batter and waved it around in her face. Before she could move away from it, he smudged a bit onto her nose. He licked what was left of the batter off of his finger and gave into his temptations. He moved toward her until he felt the hot air from her breath tickle his skin, leaning in slightly. "You're welcome," he murmured.
Before he did something he would regret, he turned away from her and cleared his throat, clearly pained as he did so. "You can thank me by cutting up the rest of the fruit," he offered. His tone came out to be a bit harsh, but only because he had now put themselves in an uncomfortable situation. After turning on the stove and adding a bit of pancake mix to a frying pan, he masterfully made a very misshaped dinosaur. When the pancake was done forming on both sides, he turned around to show Jolene his masterpiece. "Tada," he said with a sarcastic sense of enthusiasm. It was shortly followed by a small laugh under his breath and the wiggling of his eyebrows. "I'd rate this one a ten outta ten," he stated, challenging her to say otherwise.

(You're good! Sorry for dissapearing there haha)
Jolene didn't even have time to react, as one second he was smearing batter on her nose, and the next he was so close she could count the freckles that shone on his face. There wasn't nearly as much on his as she possessed, but she had never really noticed them before. Probably because he was too tall. It fit him well. Unsure why, Jolene had began to lift her hand, as though to touch him, perhaps his face, before he backed away suddenly. She felt bad as she heard him clearing his throat, but she soon frowned as she busied herself with cutting the strawberries. Why was he always doing stuff like that! Getting so close to her, or saying something, or actually touching her, if only for moments, and then act like he wished he hadn't done it! It was leaving poor Jolene's head spinning.
Looking up at his creation, and seeing that he was going to pretend he hadn't been close enough to kiss her, Jolene decided she would play along. Confronting him would have to happen on another day. Besides, what if he stopped doing it once she confronted him? Despite the confusion those little actions caused, Jolene found herself beginning to live for them. "It's stunning." She replied, smiling with half her mouth. "But it's lacking something." Placing strawberries along what should be the dinosaurs' back, she created bright red spikes from the fresh strawberries. "Now he's a 10."

Bash tried to stifle a laugh but couldn't hold back the snicker that came from his mouth. "I'd give it a sideways eight," he said thoughtfully in regards to an infinity sign. He then picked up one of the dinosaur's strawberry spikes and popped one into his mouth before shooting her a wink and turning back to cook the rest of the batter into all sorts of different shapes. He did manage to create a few pretty good ones, if had anything to say about it. His perfectly curved pancake had become a perfect circle, and the chocolate chips were lined into the shape of a smiley face. "Look how happy this guy is!" he called out excitedly. "He must have a really cool pancake maker to give him such a great smile." He knew he was being childish, which was completely against his nature, but heck! He was a morning person for the first time in what had seemed like ages. The smile that had already appeared across his face had only grown wider as he kept flipping each pancake.
When all the pancakes were placed on a platter and the fruit was freshly cut, he pulled out two stools for them to sit near one another by a corner of the kitchen island and patted the seat next to him for her to sit. After filling his plate with all the goods, he offered Jolene a drink. "I've got OJ, apple juice, water, and milk." With his deep tone and slight accent, he pronounced the word milk with a different vowel, making the word come out as 'malk.' He bit his top lip, trying to hide his obvious inability to say certain words, and poured himself a glass of orange juice, to which he referred to as OJ since he pronounced that word differently as well.
"Enjoying your morning so far?" Bash was curious enough to ask. He took his seat next to her by the island and sipped his glass of orange juice. "Better yet, are you feeling better after last night? You were pretty frightened, and I was worried." A look of concern washed over his face as he pondered what happened in her nightmare earlier on.

Jolene smiled as she watched him act like a child. It was incredibly entietaining, and not to mention cute. Talking to a few of the guild members earlier, she had found out that Bash was more of the quiet type. Apparently he didn't talk to them nearly as much as he talked to her. Jolene bet he didn't make them pancakes either. Drinking her milk, she was stewing on some things. He was acting incredibly nice to her, and she didn't doubt that it was genuine, but she also didn't know if he had done this for multiple girls in the past. She felt bad for thinking that, but she couldn't afford to be naive forever.
"Oh, uhm." Wiping some milk from her lip, Jolene looked down. Swinging her legs back and forth, watching the motion, she apologized. "I'm sorry if I made you worried. I'm fine, really." She couldn't remember the specifics of her nightmare, as dreams faded so quickly, but she knew it was about the day she left home. It couldn't have been more than three days ago. "I don't know if I want to tell you what it was about...It might change what you think of me."

{replying on my phone sucks but it's what I gotta do heh} Bash's look of concern toward Jolene only deepened at her last few words. Did he seem like the judgemental type? "I can't imagine something that would make me think of you much differently. Sure, it might show me another side of you, but I've gotten to know a pretty good side of you up until now. What's the matter?" He got up to put his plate in the sink, rinsing off the dishes for when held wash them later. When he made his way back, he reached a comforting hand over to the area between her shoulder blades, and this time he didn't pull back.
For some reason Bash could almost feel the cold presence in her heart, like his powers were being drawn to it or something of the sort. He's never been able to feel others' emotional chill, only the physical cold of his ice magic. This was.. something oddly different. He could tell hat the coldness didn't come from her, but more so a person from her past. By the way the cold almost consumed her aura, he guessed that it must be a pretty recent pain to her. "You don't have to talk about if you don't think you're ready," he replied simply. There was a comforting edge to his voice, but he managed to keep a steady distance from where he stood behind her as he resisted the urge to wrap his arms around her once more. Her eyes looked as if they held a small part of what he'd seen just hours earlier at his door. Whatever it was, he knew she'd been through a lot.

{mental note: [insert at the right point in time] Bash swore to himself to always protect her. While pain can make people stronger, it could also tear them apart, and he, for one, would not be able to live with himself if she ever got hurt like that again.}

(Bruh I'm sorry)
Not expecting him to touch her, Jolene flinched as Bash placed a hand on her back. It was a comforting gesture, and she chided herself for reacting negatively. She would really need to settle her nerves soon, and hopefully rid herself of that reflex. Chewing heavily on her lip, she moved away from him to clean off her place, from which she had eaten very little. "I'm sorry." She apologized for what seemed to be the millionth time. Perhaps she would never be through with apologizing to her friend. If she was lucky he would never be through with forgiving her.
"I haven't told anyone. Not even my sisters." She admitted, with a little laugh. "Which is rather hard when you share a room with them, but I've gotten pretty good keeping them from asking questions." Rubbing her arm, partly to keep the chill out, she shuffled her feet. "You don't need to worry, though. I remember what you said to me in the alleyway, eventhough that feels like lifetimes ago. I'll get stronger. As strong as you, if I'm lucky. He won't be able to hurt me again." Jolene bit her lip so hard it bleed. She had tripped up, not meaning to mention her father. She prayed he hadn't noticed.

As he listened to Jolene ramble on after her apology, he felt his face grow hot. Well sure, he was an S-Class.. but did that truly make him much more special? Now that he got to thinking about it, everyone else seemed to care a lot more than he did- granted, he had his own egotistical logic that he should have received such a high rank ages ago. He was almost too wrapped up in his head when she'd mentioned something about someone hurting her.. wait, what?
In an instant he had already moved to the side of her, his grip on the counter turning his knuckles white. "Who hurt you?" he shrieked, almost as if he was angry with her himself. How could a man hurt someone so pure and innocent? Whether it was Jolene or not, no one should have to join a guild for self-protection. It was their job to protect one another, not themselves.
He felt his muscles relax as he saw the look of sorrow that had eased its way onto her face. Sighing deeply, he walked over to where she stood by the sink. "C'mere," he said softly as he held his arms out for her to run into. It was always a pattern than Bash found himself acting as a fatherly figure among the members of Yellow Moon, but he didn't mind it too much. Something about the way he could help people feel safer, if only for a few moments, brought him comfort. As of right now, he made a pact with himself to not allow anyone to ever hurt her again. "I promise that so long as you're with me and everyone else around the guild, you won't have to worry about whoever was hurting you." He cupped a hand to her face and looked into her eyes to search for the brightness he saw just moments ago when she'd woken up next to him.
"Your past has been put behind you. It only follows you wherever you go if you choose to allow it. I see a very strong person beneath a troubled life; there's no doubt in my mind about that. You, JoJo, are an amazing, wonderful, and spectacular human being. You're going to do well here in the guild, and you're going to accomplish great things." He felt a strange urge that drew him near her once again. This time, he decided to hell with his efforts to push her away. As his face drew nearer to hers, he felt the warmth of her body next to his and brushed his lips over hers as if to beg for permission to give in.

(sorry! I just moved in Wednesday and things have been hectic haha you're good scorch!! I'll quote that in a second. I didn't move on with Jolene, this is just a flashback!)
With wide eyes and a very quick heart rate, Jolene didn't know what to do. Her mother would be severely disappointed if she knew her daughter was so much as considering kissing him. He was already so close to her...and he was warm, and safe, and Jolene wanted nothing more than to feel like that. Gently, she placed a hand on his cheek, which was shaking just the slightest amount. Surprising herself, Jolene stood on tip-toe, kissing him softly. She had never kissed anyone before! Well, besides some stupid boy in elementary school, but that wasn't a real kiss.
Placing a hand on his chest, she kissed him longer, and perhaps a bit harder, than she thought she would. Suddenly, she pulled back, taking a few steps away from him. "I'm so sorry." She apologized, placing a hand over her mouth, shocked with herself. "I shouldn't have done that." Jolene felt really weird. "I'll, uhm-" Walking backwards towards the door, she felt such a mix of emotions it made her stomach hurt. Had she really kissed him?! "I don't want to overstay my welcome. Thank you for having me...Uhm, good bye." She mumbled, looking at her feet, which still had on his too big socks. Quickly, Jolene opened the door and fled from her decision.
She kissed him. She had her first kiss. With a member of her guild...whom she met yesterday. Oh, Jolene, what is the north doing to you?! The girl felt like hitting herself as she ran down the stairs, landing on the balls of her feet as to be more silent. Quickly ducking into her room to avoid being seen by anyone, Jolene leaned with her back against the door, breathing heavily. Slowly sliding down, she pressed the palms of her hand to her forehead. It all happened so quickly. Could she even remember how he felt against her lips? Or if she even liked it? With a groan, she peeled herself from the floor and changed into real clothing, and an extra large flannel, for she felt like she needed to hide herself now.

Bash sighed at Grizel and re-positioned the bag that hung over his shoulder to a spot in front of him on the ground. "I don't care about any bribes. I'll be getting enough money from this job as it is, and I have a lot more from other missions." He frowned, unsure of how to ease the growing tension between the two. It was then that he realized that they were in an alley, and he had yet to see her use her magic. Either she was afraid to use it, or was waiting on the right time to find a way out from this. Running a hand through his hair, he grabbed his bag and dumped the precious cargo he'd been carrying himself. Various jewels and gold trinkets clinked onto the ground, their shiny surfaces glistening ever-so-slightly in a ray of light that had peeped into the alleyway.
"Handouts or not, you'll find yourself in much more trouble than running into a guy like me. This should help you for a solid month or two, depending on how you use it." His gaze that appeared over his shoulder was sharp yet held a soft glow that sent a silent message that he understood what she was going through, no matter how wrong it was. "I'm not just going to let you go, either. If you leave, I know that I've done my best, but I also can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved." He took a few steps away from her, but paused before he would step out into the opening. The ray of light that had shone onto his own treasure was now left in the dark and shone brilliantly across Bash's face. He turned back to face her and gave her a small smile.
"I suppose there's no way I can get you to join the guild around here?" he inquired. "Even with my 'handout' as you call it, then what? You'll go back to your shady jobs and always live a life alone with the small fear in the back of your head that someday you'll get caught?" He pointed to his head as he said that last part, hoping Grizel would see that she truly was living a poor life that she'd built for herself. "For whatever reason you left another guild or decided not to join one, I can promise you this: in the Yellow Moon guild, we welcome those who have their heart in the right place. I hope that one day I'll get to see you on the front steps of the guild. Either that or the possibility of running into you again and seeing that you've found whatever it is that you're looking for in a life led in the shadows." His gaze was now slightly less warm and contained a cold stare, to which he then shifted to the floor. He picked up one of the bigger jewels that had rolled away from the rest and shoved it into his jacket pocket. He saluted her a farewell and made his way out of the alleyway, not bothering to look back behind him as the familiar sights of the bustling town streets filled his earlier concerns with relief; now he could make his way back to someone that he knew was waiting for him back at home. He smiled at the thought of Jolene's sweet smile and bright red hair as he made his way through the guild to where she'd normally sit.
{Little plot idea: what if on the way home Bash gets jumped and held for ransom by a dark guild, and that would be the reason he a) wouldn't be able to get home to Jolene and b) create a small plot where everyone can use their magic to save both him and the guild from total destruction and despair?
otherwise I'm cool with just moving on c: } sorry i didn't reply to this earlier! ) Grizel chanted a mantra in her head over and over he could be S-Class, he could be S-Class, he could be S-Class... to stop her from lunging at this arrogant son of a sow for trying to offer her money, after she just said she didn't want any handouts. Everything she'd ever assumed about Guild Mages crystallized in her mind and became solely permanent. The way he dropped his jewels on the ground, excepting her to bend over and be grateful for them, made her want to forget about magic and use her bare hands to teach this stupid little man that no amount of his gracious stare from his purebreed high horse was going to make her take his charity. "Are all Guild Mages so condensing, or are you a very special case?" she muttered, with a glare designed to melt iron. In any other situation, she would've taken those jewels, swallowed whatever disgust she felt, and put them away somewhere safe. But today, she lashed out with her prosthetic, sending the gems scattering into the cobblestones, mixing with the gutter water. Let someone else find them, Grizel Zeeb did not take handouts. The only thing she wanted from that slimy piece of work who called himself a mage, was his blood under her fingertips, something to remember her by. He turned and walked out into the sun, telling Grizel exactly how to live her life as he went, as she either a) asked or b) cared. She hadn't 'built' this life for herself, it'd been thrust at her, and she'd survived. There was a tangible difference. "Better my own life in the shadows then having to deal with people like you every single day." She growled, turning to face him as he left, "Send my regards to the bleeding heart society." In a mirror of his own action, she turned deeper into the alley, stepping over the shining gleam of gems in the mud, the weapon in place of her foot making light scraping noises against the ground. Leaning to the left, she felt her magic ripple through her, changing the state of her body until she passed through the wall and out into the other side. It was some sort of abandoned warehouse with a door open at the back, looking out onto more streets and alleyways. that sounds like a good plan!! Plus, Dorian and Isis just left town, so they wouldn't be able to get back and help right away)

Jolene sat herself down across from her companion. It was always more polite to look someone in the eyes while you were talking to them. "Second stop you said?" She asked, looking down at her chipped pink nail polish. She should really touch that ho soon. "That's means we have plenty of time to get to know each other! So, how did you learn magic?" Leaning forward intently, resting her head on her fist, Jolene stared intently at Rika's eyes. "You don't gotta tell me the whole thing or nothing, just whatcha wanna share."

Hey Sappho! I've been pretty tired out. Dealing with tourists tends to do that. They turn off their brains and blame you for when they don't realize the common sense stuff and you have to tell them. Bleh...I like the job and all, but some people wear on me really quickly. Btw, could you quote your last post?))
In her mind, Rika was disgusted at the thought of being stuck on a train with someone as talkative as Jolene. She wasn't much of a public speaking kind of person. And she hated talking about her personal life. Only the mages that had brought her to the guild knew about where she came from, and she'd asked them not to say anything. She'd rather tell people, and that wasn't going to happen. Plus there was the other thing she didn't want people finding out about. Finally she decided to speak, but turned her head and eyes to look out of the window. She might have to talk to Jolene, but that didn't mean she had to make eye contact. "I taught myself magic." There. Plain and simple.

sounds tough 00: but hey, cash money is cash money, right? and sure, no problem!)
"Well, it was a long time ago." No point denying it now, Dorian supposed, most of the mages that it had bothered had come and gone, "And I didn't get along with a lot of people. I'm hardly a party animal now, but when I was younger I was a lot more... abrasive. Liked to rile people up. Not in fights, or anything, I just didn't like doing as I was told. And whenever I got annoyed, I couldn't really control my abilities and..." She gave a shrug to indicate the amount of damage she would inflict on a regular basis, "Bye-bye West Tower. It wasn't intentional. Well, rarely intentional." The Master added on at the end after a moment's thought. "And I really was very young; younger than Nova and Khione. But things happened, and I grew up. Had to." Her mind drifted a little back to the days coming up the the old Master's death, it wasn't a pleasant time for anyone. Poor Rada. Dorian felt a dull throb in her heart, the older woman had been the closest thing she'd ever known to a mother. In the early days, she'd doubted the then old woman's decision to make her the new Master, perhaps she'd gone soft in her last days? But she had to respect the choice that had been made, and she was glad now she'd stuck with the job. She'd gone quiet but then broke the silence, "Now I'm the sensible and stoic woman you see before you. And I have no time," Like before, she went to give Isis' head a light bop with her crook, "For troublemakers."
Khione nodded in agreement to whatever Nova was signing. The girl had tried to learn some sign language when she'd first learnt about the new Guild member, but she was pretty rusty, and it was hard to keep track of what was being signed when she was nodding her head. The farmer lady watched Nova's hands, but gave no indication she understood what was being said to her. She just nodded slowly and rubbed a hand over her jaw, "Well, if you do want the job, I need those baskets filled." She leaned out the door and pointed round to the side, where two wicker baskets were sitting in the sun, "You're better off starting from here and going out the ways, these ones are the ripest." She dusted her hands off on her old jumper, "I'm going to be round the back diggin the potato beds. If you need me, just come over and ask. There's a bathroom out there too." She indicated to a wooden outhouse in the distance that did not look appetising in the slightest. There was a big brown cow standing beside it, as if it were a sentinel. "I understand that mages are naturally going to use their magic to get the job done, that's why I hired you after all, but I don't want any funny business. This farm's been in my family for generations, and I would prefer it not to be destroyed by preteens. You can get your pay when you're done." Then she turned and she closed the door behind her, not waiting for a response.

Indeed. I needs the money.))
Isis raised her eyebrows as she listened to Dorian. "Dang master, I never pegged you for being like that when you were younger." She grinned. "I would have loved hanging out with you back then. Would have been a lot of fun." She noted the end of that, talking about how she'd had to grow up. Isis was the other way around. She hadn't started like this. Back home in her tribe, she'd kind of been forced to grow up without a childhood. The tribe had been lovely, they'd taken her in after her dragon had up and vanished. But they treated her like a god outside of the family that had taken her in. She'd been forced to be worshipped, be the symbol of the tribe. So she'd decided to leave, to have a life. This was her having a life, not growing up. Cause that was definitely not what she wanted right now. She'd kind of forgotten what was going on and barely got her hand up in time to block the crock from hitting her head. "Hey! If you keep doing that, you're going to give someone brain damage."
Nova sighed heavily, before reaching over and bopping Vulpecula no the head with her fist. The fox flinched and glared up at her summoner. "Hey! What was that for?!" Nova shot her a glare. "Oh you know exactly what that was for. Be glad I don't force your gate shut. Could you please not be overly sarcastic to the people who are giving us jobs? You may have a cushy home in the Celestial World, but I need that money to pay for mine here." Vulpecula looked like she was going to say something, but didn't. Only a mumbled, "Sorry..." came over the telepathic link. Nova held the glare for a bit longer, before her gaze softened and she started to walk towards one of the baskets. "Ask Khione if I should summon one of my spirits to help us with this." Vulpecula glanced at Nova, then spoke after seeing she wasn't in trouble anymore. "Nova asked if she should summon help. I would help, but I just had my nails done."

sorry for vanishing! I was on a little break to Dublin and couldn't get on!)
"I can't damage what isn't there." She deadpanned, taking her crook back from Isis' hand. "Dragon slayers don't need their brains, from what I've seen." The master commented, hanging to the left of the path a little as someone on a bike raced by. "They're very... physical beings." She'd met a couple, in her time. Being on the magic council occasionally meant sitting jury on trials, which wasn't so bad. She got a seat, wasn't expected to speak much, and also managed to glean the latest drama out of somewhere other than Farrel for once. Dragon slayers made more frequent appearances there then would first be imagined, or at least would be mentioned as example cases, though she'd even met a God Slayer once. Dangerous fellow. Locked up in a concrete cell now, or so he should be. Big crowds made her nervous, but individual people rarely fazed Dorian. She knew what she was capable of, and typically felt very certain of her outcome if it came to a fight. The God Slayer had been a different story. Few mages radiated power even when their magic was bound, but he had. She shooed him from her mind, focusing instead on what the day actually was - a walk by the river with a fellow mage she was, well, a little fond of. Best to not overthink it. "Can I ask you, what is eating sand like?" She let genuine curiosity shine through in her voice; the consumption of the respective element was a key feature of dragon slaying she found rather odd.
Khione got over the initial embarrassment of the abrupt meeting and the slammed door, and gave a nervous, high pitched little laugh at Vulpecula before clearing her throat and nodding, "Um, yeah, that's probably a good idea. We're going to have to pull out the stocks now to get back into her good books." She rubbed the nape of her neck and thumbed over her shoulder with her other hand, thinking about the old farm lady, "I was hoping for something a little more, homely." The young mage admitted, doing her best to get over this chastened feeling. Farmhouses and farmers in story books were usually a lot more friendly that that. "I was hoping for a tip." This was a joke, however, something to try and help her feel brighter and get the job done, "No such luck, eh? But we should get started," She clapped her hands together and rubbed them, "There's whole fields worth of blackberries, just waiting to be picked by our fine, magic hands."

You're fine! I really wish I could go to Ireland though. I'm a third Irish, so it hurts that I can't. XD Also hurts cause my cousin did an exchange student thing there, and his family had been there before. So, you know, slightly* jealous. *Slightly meaning a lot. XD))
Isis used Dorian's words to her advantage once again. "You're darn right we are. I doubt you'd find someone else as physical as me." She gave the master a playful wink as she put her arms behind her head. She hadn't met another Dragon Slayer yet. She'd seen one, but it was only a glimpse. Didn't even know what element he'd been. As for any other kind of slayer, she didn't even know they existed. She was pretty sure Dragon Slayers were few in number after all. Other types of slayers? Yeah right. When the question about eating sand came up, she grinned. "It's amazing! Not only does it taste like the best food I've ever eaten, it fills me up with all the power I would ever need! If it was actually nutritional, I would only eat that. But I need to eat meat, and veggies, and all that other stuff. None of it ever tastes as good as sand though."
Nova tilted her head at Khione a bit as she spoke about the farmer lady. To be honest, the woman looked like she did most of the work out here alone. Being that busy all the time, with no help, she would probably be a bit short with people too. She nodded when she said they should get started though. "Who do you think would work Vulpe? Virgo maybe?" The fox spirit thought for a moment. "Probably the best option," she said out loud. "Just need to make sure she doesn't do any digging out here." Nova nodded, a tad surprised that the fox had actually offered helpful advice for once. She'd already been thinking of that, but the fact the fox was trying was what was surprising. She pulled the key out, filled it with her magical power, then swiped it down. "Open, Gate of the Virgin! Virgo!" yelled out Vulpecula. A magical circle appeared before Nova, followed by a flash of light. Once the light cleared, the circle had been replaced by a pink haired maid, who was bowing to Nova. "How can I be of help, princess?" Nova sweatdropped a little. She'd had Vulpe tell the spirit not to call her that, but the other things hadn't been as...tasteful. So she'd finally caved and allowed this nickname. Luckily, Vulpe didn't need any direction for this. "Hey Virgo. The 'princess' needs your help picking some berries. She would have called Draco, but she wants the berries picked, not burned to the ground. Also, don't go digging around. You'll get the 'princess' in trouble." She smirked at Nova every time she said the nickname, knowing she didn't like it. Virgo rose from her bow and nodded. "Of course. I will help the princess it whatever way she needs."

if you ever get the chance, you should come! hmu, come to my place, have a little ~ sesh ~ lol )
"So, steak doesn't taste as good as sand?" She didn't bother trying to hide her disbelief, and scoffed playfully, "You've got to be joking me, Isis. Though don't go around saying that at the Guildhall, however. You'll break Farrell's heart." She said, a little grimly. Certain mages she worked with could be a little dramatic, when they wanted to be. A low wooden bridge approached them and Dorian turned onto it, hearing how the sounds of their footsteps changed as they moved from the path to the boards. She knew this area well enough to be certain in the paths she took, though she did take the time to glance over the edge at the green water below. "Doesn't the texture make it unpleasant?" She asked, still dumbfounded, "Like eating, well, sand I guess! I know we do odd things for magic, things we don't even realise are odd until we talk to someone who goes without, but eating dirt doesn't quite strike me as very pleasurable." She realised, somewhere at the back of her head, that this may have been the longest she'd ever spoke to Isis, and was definitely the most relaxed conversation she'd had in a long time. This tiny realization made her feel lighter, but also put her on edge, and she moved her gaze back to the forest around them rather than Isis' face
Khione tired to be cool when Nova summoned Virgo, she really did. She even did her best not to stare, because cool mages don't stare. That's rude. And babyish. It was just magic after all, and they worked and lived at a Magic Guild. This was nothing she didn't see every day, so she could be cool about it. All the same, she didn't know anyone with magic like Nova. The ability to summon real, live spirits? That was pretty impressive, and seeing it up close as always exciting. "Nice,'Princess', very cool indeed." She grinned, cashing in on the joke with Vulpe. "That's a cute nickname to have, y'know." She made her way over to the little row of baskets and grabbed one, "Worse things to be called. Plus, you suit it. You'd look good in a tiara." Said the girl with a skull on her head. Her own magic was probably be a little counterproductive on this job in particular, so she kept it to herself. That farmer lady didn't seem like the kind of woman to be afraid to get properly angry if she found out her plants had died in a premature frost, and Khione was too young, pretty, and broke to die. If she died today, her funeral would be rubbish. Master Teratoid probably wouldn't even splash out for a gravestone. "It's nice to meet you, Virgo." She introduced herself to the spirit, manner cost nothing after all, "I'm Khione Damhnait; snow mage, S-Class." She teased.
do you think a time skip would be good here, to maybe late evening?)

If I'm ever in Ireland I'll make sure to look you up. XD))
Isis shrugged a bit. "I'm a Dragon Slayer. Of course we love eating our element. If we didn't, it would be kind of hard to power up when we need to." She rolled her eyes a bit. "If Farrell prepared as nice of sand as a steak, maybe I wouldn't have to tell him that. He doesn't exactly try you know." She glanced at Dorian and raised an eyebrow. "Well of course it sounds crazy to you. Sand isn't the source of your power. If you ate it, nothing would happen. It would taste like sand. But for me, it tastes like magical power, and it's delicious. Unless created by a bad mage, cause then it doesn't taste as great. Still power for me though." She knew how ridiculous it was to eat sand, but all the other Dragon Slayers would be able back her up. "You should have seen me back home in the desert. Let's just say I'm pretty sure I had more power than even you, master." She grinned over at Dorian and shot her another wink.
Nova blushed as Khione used her nickname. She was fed up with it coming from the spirits, but another human using it embarrassed her. And...she did kind of like it. She wondered what it would be like to have a tiara...She quickly shook her head a bit. No point in fantasizing now. They had work to do. She walked over to the baskets as well, picking up one for her, and one for Virgo. She handed it to the spirit, who turned to Khione and gave a tiny bow to her as well. "It is always nice to meet friends of the princess. She doesn't seem to have very many." If Nova could speak, she would have yelled at Virgo for just saying that, and Vulpecula wasn't speaking for her because she was snickering too hard. So all Nova could do was look at Virgo angrily and turn a bright red. Being mute really sucked sometimes.
Yeah we can time skip to them being almost done if you like.)) Also I changed Cyprus's guns a tiny bit if you want to check them out. Not that many changes, just swapped two guns out for two others.))
