Rika raised an eyebrow at the girl. She'd barely spent any time with her, but it was already extremely obvious they were polar opposites besides their couple similarities. She shook her head at the Dragon Slayer and looked at the flier as it was raised to her eye level once more. She quickly found the location and felt a pulse of relief shoot through her. It didn't show on her face, but she knew exactly where the city was. It had been one she traveled through with the group of mages to get here from her home. She knew how to get there. "Follow me, we're going to the train station. It won't take long. The city we're going to will be our second stop." With that she spun on her heel and started to march towards the station. Her heels clicked on the stone as she walked. She wondered if the girl had noticed her scar. She didn't like talking about it, as it had happened during the worst time in her life. But usually people couldn't help but stare. She'd seen it first hand, and knew that Cyprus, one of the S-Class mages, and the Guild Master herself could probably sympathize. They had large scars on their faces as well. No doubt they got a lot of starers. The master especially.

(ooo Odette has a scar too! claws that go down one of her eyes)
Jolene breathed a sigh of relief. "That's a blessin'!" She cried, grateful her companion knew the area around them greater than she did. "Oh, well wait up!" She quickly fell into step beside the other girl, looking down at her dirty sneakers, watching her feet for a moment as they walked over dirt and grass. Tying her red hair up into a horribly messy bun, Jolene looked at her companion. "Do you think it's going to be hard? The job, I mean." She attempted the small talk. "I've been on, ah geez, maybe one? And I was more shadowing (ha) than anything. Have you been on many?" Jolene loved to talk, and especially loved to know everything about everyone. Learning new information about someone was just so exciting, and bonding! It was one of her favorite things to do in life. Of course, Jolene had a HUGE desire to ask about Rika's scar, but she knew her manners. It was rude to ask about such things. Her manners didn't stop her mind from racing and drawing to drastic, unrealistic answers on how the scar came to settle on the girl's face.

Well Rika has more than the scar, but she's keeping it hidden. I like it to be a surprise for people, cause it's kind of shocking.))
Rika didn't enjoy talking nearly as much as this girl did, but she supposed if she didn't say anything she might as well be mute. "I suppose it depends on the details of the job. We won't know them until we get there. Job requests never have the full story." She'd learned that the hard way. "I've been on a couple jobs already. I had no choice in waiting to get stronger, to be ready. Rent was needed." She'd of course been in over her head on her very first job. After that, she'd taken easier ones. Especially since she was usually alone. She'd done a total of two jobs on her own. She didn't count that first one, since she'd needed to call for help. How embarrassing that had been. She then processed what the girl had said and looked at her. "This is only your second job? And your first actually doing something?" She was still new, how was she supposed to handle being in charge of another newbie? Sure, this was what she wanted, but now she wasn't really sure she did. Not this soon anyways.

(omg im excited to know!!)
Jolene nodded. "Yes ma'am. Oh wow, two jobs! You're gonna have to show me the ropes, aren't ya?" She joked, winking as she nudged Rika in the arm with her elbow. "But, yeah! It wasn't here, though. It was back home when I was younger. My momma is a wizard too, and I went with her one day to see how she did things. It was probably the coolest take your kid to work day ever." Being a dragon slayer was almost the family business. Well, it only went to the first girl born in the next generation, but basically. "My mom and my nana are both wizards, actually! My dad isn't; sure made Mimi jealous, knowing she isn't the favorite grandmother." Jolene laughed. "Anyways. I'll have to admit to you; saying I'm nervous is an understatement."

Rika sweat-dropped a bit. Show her the ropes, huh? That was going to go well. She grunted at being elbowed, reaching over to rub her arm. At least she'd been on the right side. "Your first job was when you were a child, with your mother?" She didn't even want to know, or really think about it. Might dredge up bad memories. "Then you've never actually been on a job as a guild mage. Perfect..." She muttered the last word, hoping the girl wouldn't pick up on it. Though from what she'd heard about Dragon Slayers, most of them had heightened senses like smell and hearing. Though when the girl started to talk about her family, Rika felt a tiny tinge of jealousy. Another sign they were opposites. This girl had had a life filled with magic, whereas Rika had had to learn it in secret, in fear of her father. "Just don't freeze up when the time comes, alright? I'd rather not die because you hesitated."
What job are they even doing? XD))

(oh geez uhmmmmm maybe a stealth related job?? like spying or stealing or secretly wrecking some place??)
Jolene froze, completely drained of color. "Die?!" She cried out. "We're not doing anything dangerous enough for anyone to...die!?" She spat the word out as though it had thorns coming form the letters, snagging her lips and tongue. "Are we?" She squeaked. Sure, she was a Dragon Slayer, and had a type of magic where she could potentially become the most powerful wizard in her guild. But she hadn't been a part of a guild for long. Training back on the farm against hay bales and scaring away coyotes wasn't the same as training with another wizard! Clenching and relaxing her jaw, over and over, Jolene stewed on some things.
(apparently hay bale isn't one word and as someone who gets stuck behind trailors carrying hay bales on the way to school I am SHOOK)

Maybe they need to sneak into an abandoned mansion to steal a family heirloom that's been lost there for decades, but it turns out the place is infested with monsters? Not strong ones, but monsters nonetheless?))
Rika shrugged a bit. "There's always a potential to die on a job. After all, who knows what might suddenly change about a job's description. I've heard of rewards being raised in the middle of a job, to the sudden rise in difficulty. So who knows?" She took the flier from Jolene to look at it once more. "All they say is they want stealthy mages for a very important job. No details on what they really want. Usually jobs like this are passed on. Only reckless people usually take them, as they don't care what they're walking into." She wasn't being mean to the girl, she was just telling her how it was. She didn't mind, as she had a feeling if there was any real danger the reward would be more. But the reward itself was a clue that there was something more to this than just stealth. She liked to think she was smart and could pick things up quickly, like how jobs and requests worked.

(sounds perfect!! hey im gonna head to bed tho. see ya tomorrow!!!)
The word "reckless" hit Jolene like a dagger. That wasn't the type of wizard she wanted to be! Oh, geez, this really wasn't going how she had imagined it to! "You sure are casual about this. I'm not sure if I'm comforted by that or not!" She cried. Her companion could be calm because she was experienced and genuinely felt they could handle this, or she had already said her piece to the good lord and accepted death. "Oh, c'mon, Rika, you're really not doing much to calm a girl's nerves here."

Night! I have to work tomorrow, so I won't be around until later.))
Rika looked over at her and raised an eyebrow. "Well you're the one freaking out. I've just come to terms with the fact that I'm not invincible, and we don't always know what we're walking into. Get hurt enough, you realize that kind of thing. Besides, being a mage is probably the most dangerous job in the world. Didn't you know that before you joined a guild?" Being a nonmagical soldier was actually probably the most dangerous, but guild mage was certainly up there. She figured with Jolene's raw power they would probably be alright. As long as nothing stronger than a small monster challenged them. A mage of any kind could probably destroy them both, so she was really hoping there wasn't one.

(Guess who can't sleep haha. Ah geez I work the night shift so I'll be on late! Like. 10:30ish (central time))
Jolene made a pout. "Of course I knew the dangers! I just didn't think it would get so difficult so...early." She was still incredulous that the pair could be seriously harmed on this small, beginners mission. C'est la vie, right? Her mother said that all the time, as though it was comforting. Jolene supposed it was a little bit. Sighing, the dragon slayer said, "Le's just board the train whim I'm still getting on by my own accord." They had approached the station, and she looked to Rika to lead them to the proper train.

Alrighty.))
Rika shook her head. Unbelievable. This was the real world. Things weren't going to just always be easy until you wanted them to get get harder. There was no learning curve out here. "This way." She went to a window and bought two tickets, figuring she might as well buy one for Jolene. Be nice, which wasn't her thing most of the time. Once the tickets were bought, she headed to the train. They were lucky, and the train was leaving in about twenty minutes. Which meant they didn't have to wait around. That would have been killer, if they had to wait for a train. She boarded the train, found a random seat and sat down for the journey. She hoped Jolene sat across from her and not next to her.

Bash can try to convince her to join, but Grizel's a tough cookie!! this'll be interesting c:< i hate it when that happens scorch 3:< most of the time i don't even realise how long it took to type something up until it's gone) This guy was damn lucky he'd bumped into her when she was in the middle of a day dream, because she did not take kindly to being touched by strangers. Wrenching her arm free from his grasp, she scolded at him and ignored the fact he'd just found what she'd been carrying, "Don't call me 'kid'." This guy had to be about the same age she was, right? Who the hell did he think he was? But she didn't bother asking that, because she could smell a Guild Mage a mile away. "And I've worked with worse." Was he serious when he said the gang had been shut down? If so, that was just great. She'd been walking for days. It could be a fakeout though. Wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to bluff her into giving up. She snatched back her package, pulling it close to her side. Her metal prosthetic made a slight scraping noise on the cobblestones underfoot as her position shifted a little, getting ready for trouble. The thing with Guild Mages was that she only ever seemed to run into two kinds; Newbies who got themselves beat up, or S-Class mages who usually only fought her for about a minute before she found some way to slip off. Grizel had an arrogant streak in her at times, but she wasn't stupid. She wasn't S-Class, and she couldn't beat someone who was. "I don't want any trouble here." Because of this uncertainty about his power level, she decided to try something a little more neutral and drain the snarl form her voice, "I'm just the mule. This is just another job." Pulling her into an alleyway was a mistake, tight spaces were the best for Grizel's magic. Having said that, she couldn't use her smoke magic without getting her mask on, which was currently hanging useless around her neck, but she could use her phasing to disappear through the wall behind her if she had to. Might startle whoever was living in there, but she could be in and out in seconds. Se stood a better chance in a proper fight out in the open, plenty of room to swing around, but Guild Mages hardly ever used their fists. They were lazy like that. They also normally travelled in packs, however. Did this guy have friends about? She couldn't tell in this space, but if he did, there was definitely going to be a scene. Bash sighed, seeing the clear sense of panic that Grizel was trying to hide. "I don't want any either." He looked her up and down and couldn't help but notice her one leg, which seemed to be a fake one. He was careful enough not to stare for too long to avoid any further hostility, although he'd already guessed that the mage wasn't too trusting as it was with their current situation. "Look, this is definitely illegal. Dangerous or not, you shouldn't have to get yourself involved in such things." He frowned slightly as he focused in on her face. She looked oddly familiar, although he couldn't quite put a finger to any connections. "Aren't you part of a guild? This couldn't be a job that you were assigned to. That must mean you're doing this for... other reasons." His gaze grew to be slightly less cold, but remained stern. "Are you in trouble? I can help you, yanno. You don't have to go through any of this by yourself if you've got a good group of mages to help you." Although he wasn't too sure what he could exactly do for her, nor if it was even a good idea to get involved, he couldn't help it. Bash held a small soft spot for people in danger, and although it wasn't obvious, Bash was very intelligent and could smell a problem a mile away.
Although Bash was one of the guild members new to adulthood, he'd already gained a "fatherly" role among the rest. Whenever there was a fight in the guild hall or a mess that needed fixing, he was there to solve it. Plus, as an S-Class member, he had taught himself everything he could in the areas of discipline and responsibility, causing his maturity level to soar. Although he wanted to assist this person in getting back on track, at least as far away as he could get her from the drug shipment job, he also kept in mind that he couldn't save someone who didn't want to be helped. That and there was a possible factor of an out lash, which he now became well aware of. The alley was a very private place to jump anyone, and he'd led her here. He'd just have to be quick on his feet and aware of anything that could happen in the next few seconds.

Jolene sat herself down across from her companion. It was always more polite to look someone in the eyes while you were talking to them. "Second stop you said?" She asked, looking down at her chipped pink nail polish. She should really touch that ho soon. "That's means we have plenty of time to get to know each other! So, how did you learn magic?" Leaning forward intently, resting her head on her fist, Jolene stared intently at Rika's eyes. "You don't gotta tell me the whole thing or nothing, just whatcha wanna share."

sorry i was gone ~ That picture of Jolene is so cute!! Do you mind if I put it with the others on the front? c:' )
"Well, it was a long time ago." No point denying it now, Dorian supposed, most of the mages that it had bothered had come and gone, "And I didn't get along with a lot of people. I'm hardly a party animal now, but when I was younger I was a lot more... abrasive. Liked to rile people up. Not in fights, or anything, I just didn't like doing as I was told. And whenever I got annoyed, I couldn't really control my abilities and..." She gave a shrug to indicate the amount of damage she would inflict on a regular basis, "Bye-bye West Tower. It wasn't intentional. Well, rarely intentional." The Master added on at the end after a moment's thought. "And I really was very young; younger than Nova and Khione. But things happened, and I grew up. Had to." Her mind drifted a little back to the days coming up the the old Master's death, it wasn't a pleasant time for anyone. Poor Rada. Dorian felt a dull throb in her heart, the older woman had been the closest thing she'd ever known to a mother. In the early days, she'd doubted the then old woman's decision to make her the new Master, perhaps she'd gone soft in her last days? But she had to respect the choice that had been made, and she was glad now she'd stuck with the job. She'd gone quiet but then broke the silence, "Now I'm the sensible and stoic woman you see before you. And I have no time," Like before, she went to give Isis' head a light bop with her crook, "For troublemakers."
Khione nodded in agreement to whatever Nova was signing. The girl had tried to learn some sign language when she'd first learnt about the new Guild member, but she was pretty rusty, and it was hard to keep track of what was being signed when she was nodding her head. The farmer lady watched Nova's hands, but gave no indication she understood what was being said to her. She just nodded slowly and rubbed a hand over her jaw, "Well, if you do want the job, I need those baskets filled." She leaned out the door and pointed round to the side, where two wicker baskets were sitting in the sun, "You're better off starting from here and going out the ways, these ones are the ripest." She dusted her hands off on her old jumper, "I'm going to be round the back diggin the potato beds. If you need me, just come over and ask. There's a bathroom out there too." She indicated to a wooden outhouse in the distance that did not look appetising in the slightest. There was a big brown cow standing beside it, as if it were a sentinel. "I understand that mages are naturally going to use their magic to get the job done, that's why I hired you after all, but I don't want any funny business. This farm's been in my family for generations, and I would prefer it not to be destroyed by preteens. You can get your pay when you're done." Then she turned and she closed the door behind her, not waiting for a response.
She was familiar? God, what if he knew her from some old wanted poster? Grizel had managed to keep off of those the best she could, but there had been the occasional slip up. Where else could he have seen her? Her prick of panic was flooded by a wave of snarky contempt at his question, "Do I look like a Guild Mage?" She asked, a little offended by the question. Guilds had always rubbed her up the wrong way, there was no question of that. Everything this guy was saying annoyed her, and silently confirming what she thought about 'professionals'. "I don't need handouts. All I need from you is to walk away from this. I can handle this by myself." So maybe the drug gang was broken up. It was far from ideal, but it wasn't the end of the world. There were plenty of folk who'd want what she was carrying, and if they didn't know the original price, what was to stop her from doubling it? The deal with the gang was that she'd get half the pay at the beginning, which had been depleted by her journey, and the other half at the end. Grizel had always done her best to scrounge and save; sleeping rough, going without, when she was younger she even used to pick through the garbage instead of buying food. Then she learnt how to steal, and then she learnt her magic. And now, she didn't like being bossed around, especially by some two bit Guild Mage who talked too much. At least from all this talking, she'd had time to suss him up a bit. He was definitely S-Class.
"I wouldn't go running and tell anyone you let me go if you just walk away right now. It's an unfair world out there, sometimes you have to turn a blind eye to get by." She still had the package close to her side in her left hand, but her right one was behind her, pressed up against the stone wall of the alley. She didn't want to phase right now if it could be avoided - didn't like to show her cards like that. This guy wouldn't be the first Guild Mage who'd been persuaded to ignore her. "I've got some jewels on me." No way she was going to tell him how much, though, "If you need proper motivation." He was probably alone. Anyone he'd been with would've noticed he was gone by now, and the street outside was busy enough, but there was no one calling any names. He was still S-Class though. That made sense, didn't it? The big guns rarely needed anyone else with them, that made it to easy. Plus, then you had to split the cash, and she didn't know anyone who was too found of that.

Flashback rp for Jolene and Sebastian~
Jolene stepped off the train onto the platform, adjusting her straw hat and looking around. She had never seen a station so full of people! Or that big, for the matter. Grabbing her heavy suitcase with determination, the young country girl walked through the train station, apologizing to the few patrons she bumped into, and stumbled into the mountain air. It smelled different. Sharper. She wasn't sure how she felt about it. Coming from a southern village, where everybody knew everybody, and she regularly saw livestock roaming free, this big city was jarring to not only her way of life, but her sense of direction. How on God's green earth did people find their way around this place! All the stone and brick buildings looked the same, and everyone was yelling to each other, wether it be about the product they were selling, or warnings of "I'm walking here!"
With an obviously confused face, Jolene timidly walked forward, suddenly losing any and all confidence she had worked up on the long train ride. "I don't think I'll ever find the guild." She said softly to herself. Her mother had given her directions, but like a fool, Jolene hadn't written them down, and now stood lost on an unknown street. Suddenly, and arm was around her. "Hey, you look lost." A sympathetic voice came from nowhere. A tall man was next to her. "Let me help you. It hurts me to see such a pretty lady upset." Jolene was like a deer in headlights. Completely freezing up, she nodded, against her better judgement. What was wrong with her?! The man took her suitcase, carrying it for her with ease. His arm still around her, the grip uncomfortably strong, he led Jolene down the street, turning to walk towards a less crowded section of town. Her movements were stiff and awkward, as though she wasn't making them herself. Eyes wide, she frantically looked around. She was in trouble. What should she do?! Completely forgetting how to use her magic, Jolene was afraid she was along for this nightmarish ride.

Sebastian rolled his eyes slightly as he walked out of the town's large tavern, where he had met the S-Class guild members for what they called their 'ritual drunkfest celebration,' or in other words, an excuse to get drunk. Sebastian had been recently promoted to that of an S-Class mage, and therefore he was chosen to be the guest of honor at such an "extraordinary" event. At first he was shocked, and although he wouldn't admit it, also felt a tad excited that they'd be willing to drag him along. It wasn't that he expected anything from anyone since he'd been promoted within the guild, but the fact that he didn't bother to really talk to anyone outside of his inner circle of friends. Even then, he didn't bother sitting around the guild hall too much. He was always focused on proving himself in a job, whatever it may be to improve his skills and make the money to keep him living comfortably.
After he'd spent some time pretending to enjoy himself at the bar with the other mages, he saluted them farewell and decided to tap out. He was more of a drink-on-his-own kind of guy. While he did have a few sips of his free beer, he wasn't anywhere near to the point of intoxication. Bash was known for his responsible yet egotistical way of living. He was a short ways along the harbor, where all forms of transit met to deliver and transport both people and goods across the town. He had a toothpick in his mouth that he'd picked up from the counter on the way out, chewing on it softly as he curiously made his way over to the bus station, where he'd wait for the next bus to come and take him back home for the day. He watched as one of the buses pulled into the station and let out a bunch of people as it usually did, and went to walk on. He paid for his ticket on and went to sit toward the back, where no one would ask to sit by him. Sighing softly, he laid his head back onto the seat and closed his eyes for a moment to take in his situation. I'm now and S-Class mage in the Yellow Moon guild. I've been successful in all of my jobs and manage to still have extra savings for when I make something of myself in the future. When did everything become so great?
His eyes fluttered open and he heard the bus roar to life and the beeping noises that told of the doors closing. He looked out the window and took a deep breath, smiling softly... but then he saw something strange. A girl who he'd seen get off the bus not too long ago was approached by a familiar figure, who immediately began to take advantage of her lonely presence in what looked to have been a new setting. As someone who was very reserved, Bash was also a great observer. He frowned at the sight of her bright red hair and his dark figure getting smaller as they began to walk away, and immediately got up to shove his way through the doors of the bus. He landed on his feet easily as the bus began to take off, but not without the bus driver cursing to him through his rear mirror. Ignoring the driver's comment, he began walking at a brisk pace toward the two and followed them onto a quieter street. It was one that Bash knew very well, and he wasn't too happy with the way this man carried himself. How dare he try pretending to help the girl when he was just going to use her for money? He held out his hand and blew a chill air into the man's direction, making the backs of his neck hairs tingle in protest.
The man stopped walking and a somewhat of a snarl appeared across his face. He knew that they weren't alone anymore. "Show yourself!" the man hollered out into the now-cold air of the streets.
The man's feet were suddenly frozen to the ground with a chunk of ice, causing the man to drop the girl's suitcase and further allowing Bash to send a sharp ice needle dove through the hole of the suitcase where the handle allowed someone to carry it. The suitcase hung in the air as the ice needle dove into the ground and held it up from an angle, and the man was gasping for air as he began to panic.
In one swooping motion, Bash leaped out into the clearing and grabbed the suitcase, putting it over his shoulder and gazing over at the man with a piercing stare. "How foolish of you to try taking advantage of a small girl in such a public setting. Next time, I suggest doing it once she's already admitted to being lost in a more private place." He looked over to the girl, his eyes searching through her expression. After a moment of silence, he stretched his mouth to open up to her with his cold gaze unwavering. "The ice shouldn't melt too quickly since I've chilled the air around him, but we should get going. I can help you get to where you need to go, but promise me you'll figure out how to take care of yourself if something like this ever happens again." He began to walk down the street with her suitcase until he turned a corner that would allow them to hide in an alleyway until he could help her with directions and reassure her that she'd be okay.
When they reached the alleyway, he handed her the suitcase and leaned back against the wall with one foot propped up against it and the other firmly setting its stance on the ground. "So where were you headed with a suitcase packed that lightly?" he inquired bluntly.

Jolene's senses felt like they'd been through an EF5 tornado. She barely had time to react as her savior turned the situation in his favor. He had done so in minutes! No, seconds! It was an awe inspiring display of magical power, and Jolene was dumbfounded, for the small town girl had never seen magic other than her own. As the dust (ice, she guessed) settled and the two were away from her attacker, safely tucked away in a hidden alleyway, Jolene clenched and relaxed her jaw, over and over again, as she looked at the ground. A trained eye would know this was her tell sign of worry and fear. Forgetting her manners, she finally looked Sebastian in the eye, her own emerald eyes watery. "Thank you very much for coming to my aid." Her accent was thick despite her voice wavering slightly. The poor girl really didn't know how to behave or act on her own in a new city; this was a new experience, and with each passing second it began to terrify her more and more.
She was surprised he had called her suitcase 'light', since it carried almost everything she owned. Which, granted, wasn't much. How strong must he be? "I'm looking for the magic guild around here." She replied, almost afraid to speak its name, as she was in the dark about the guilds reputation and social standing with its city around them, much less with other magic users. "The Yellow Moon guild."

Bash raised a quizzical brow when she'd told him where she needed to go. He had assumed that she didn't possess any magic because of the way she'd handled herself with the stranger, but apparently he was wrong. Caught off guard by her apology, he mumbled a short "You're welcome," before thinking about how he would go about this. Even if she did have powers of some sort, she was clearly very new to them and therefore either didn't use them or didn't know how to. Normally he'd tell someone like her to forget about joining the guild and go to somewhere with more entry level standards, but after he had searched her face for something other than the fear that had already consumed her entire expression, he'd found something that he didn't expect. Although she looked slightly shaken by her encounter with him, she was still determined to join the guild.
"If you don't mind me asking, why did you come here? Obviously the more dangerous setting isn't a good place for someone like you." After listening to the way he'd accidentally made his response seem snobby, he shook his head. "Uh, never mind." He held out a hand toward the girl for her to shake as he offered her a small smile. "I'm a member of the guild you speak of. The name's Bash." His expression changed into a furrowed stare, questioning her motives. It wasn't unusual that mages from across the map would ask to join Yellow Moon, but very rarely were they accepted with as much skill as he had assumed she'd had. It wasn't that he didn't want her to join. He couldn't help but think that he wouldn't mind having a bit of fun with her as the newbie in the guild, but at the same time she almost seemed.. fragile. Would she be able to handle the types of assignments she'd have to do? Better yet, how far would she go once she did unlock all the secrets of her powers?"I can't help but be slightly curious; do you know anything about the guild or are you new to all of it?"

Jolene had opened her mouth to reply, but shut it as he waved away his own question. Studying him, she noted he seemed very gentlemen like. The country girl found a very comforting presence in him, as he held the same traits of boys back home that were held with high regards. Shaking his hand, she took note of how much smaller her hand was in his. "I'm Jolene Pinewood. It's a pleasure to meet you." Lingering for a moment, Jolene took her hand back, adjusting her glasses slightly and looking down. "I know what you must be thinking, seeing as you're from the guild I'm trying to make it to." She commented with a nervous little laugh. "That really must have been a pitiful scene. I have to apologize. I really haven't been far from my hometown in my entire life." Jolene admitted. "That situation caught me off guard. I didn't expect that to happen so...suddenly." Her voice was softer now as she rubbed her arm.
"But I promise I know how to use magic!" A new fire had seamed to enter her. She couldn't keep beating herself up in front of someone of the guild she was trying to join; they'd never let her in that way! "I've been training since I was little, and my grandmother sent me here, saying this was the best guild she knew of." Jolene's mother had been against the idea of her oldest daughter going away to some unknown land, getting into a dangerous line of work, but her grandmother insisted she go. She would never say, but Jolene was certain her old, cherry pie loving grandmother was once a very powerful wizard, perhaps one of the best in her guild.

{oh, really sappho? I'm sorry. :c Could you maybe repost it so I can respond? Bash and Jolene are just rp'ing a flash back to when they first met while we were waiting to clear them heh cx }
Bash didn't really say much in response to her new-found confidence, which he found slightly amusing. Now that he saw what gave her the motive to come here, he shrugged. Why the hell not, he thought to himself. He crossed his arms after he shook her small hand and flipped his hair that had slid into his face. He now guiltily wished that he'd drank more at the bar so he wouldn't remember this mess later. Those set of eyes were going to cause trouble for him in the guild once people saw them walk in together. As much as he hated to admit it, the rumors that spread among the Yellow Moon guild members annoyed him. It's no wonder why most of them weren't too advanced in their magic. All they cared about was what went down within the halls of the inside and not enough about what happened outside the safety of their home.
"Well welcome to the town of mages, where if you're not careful, you'll get taken advantage of," he replied curtly. He had a small soft spot for people in need of some help, so while he wasn't exactly too happy about spotting another hoodlum trying to get someone involved in their shady business, he was glad to have been able to have helped. "Let me lead you to the guild hall, and then our guildmaster can decide for himself if you'd be a good fit for us." He looked down the street before motioning to follow him out of the alleyway, silently leading the two into the town.
Once they had arrived within the town center, he looked over his shoulder to see if she was still following. "You were right, by the way. The Yellow Moon guild is extremely well-known for each members' skills. But more than that, we've got just about the best mix of people you could ever meet." He chuckled slightly at the thought of her getting along with all of them. "I personally don't get too involved with the others, but I'm sure you'll be fine. They're very welcoming to new people... once they're accepted, that is." He didn't want to get her too excited about joining in case she didn't make it in, but for his sake he hoped she wouldn't remain off on her own for too long.
The market square in the center of the town was bustling with all sorts of activities and people. He walked over to a bene booth and ordered a basket with chocolate and fruit topped over the french bread, and handed her one of the pieces. "Here. I bet you're hungry." He was very hungry himself, but if he was going to show her the safest route to the guild, he would have to play "tour guide" for her while they traveled. "They're called benes. They're a french bread with powdered sugar, fruit, and any kind of syrup you'd like. This one's my personal favorite." He didn't know what exactly drew him to tell her this, but he figured it was better than an awkward silence. "If you don't like it, then there's more for me," he said simply.
