"Just an old nimbus", Sunday said, holding it out for him to see. It was obviously well-used, but still very much cared for. The tiny logo saying Nimbus 2003 had almost faded away, but the broom was otherwise in an extraordinarily good shape considering its age. "It came out in the late 90s, so it's a miracle how quick it has remained. My mum offered to buy me a new broom this year, but I refused. I'm so used to this one, and it's so used to me, that I think I wouldn't be any better even on the newest Firebolt. It's agile and steady, perfect for a chaser." Sunday stroked the broom fondly, and smiled at Julian, hoping he wouldn't think she was some kind of madwoman being as attatched to her broomstick as she was. She figured that as a fellow quidditch lover, he surely would understand her.
--
Makoto offered a soft smile, surprised at his luck. He usually spent a lot longer making new friends, and while he wouldn't exactly refer to the headgirl as that quite yet, he was certainly closer to it than he had expected when he first arrived in Scotland. "Thank you. Yeah, I look forward to spending my year here doing just that", he said, meaning it. While he had been more than a little distressed when he discovered that he would have to take his finals in a foreign school, the learning element of the exhange program had excited him from the very start. Knowing people in one of the most influencial countries in the wizarding world would always be a good thing later in his life, in addition to the fact that travelling in itself was one of the most effective ways of attaining new knowledge. While Makoto didn't have any specific need of new books, he would rarely say no to an offer of it. He had read almost every single book on spells that they had at Mahoutokoro, and wouldn't mind checking whether Hogwarts had a different selection than the one at home. Besides, Emily seemed to take joy in helping others, and the Japanese considered it most disrespectful to decline an offer of help. "And I actually wouldn't mind to take a look at those spell books you mentioned", he added, his narrow eyes crinkling further when he smiled.

》》No one had ever called Ezekiel a lifesaver before. The compliment made his blush bright red, which he attempted to hide behind his scarf without much success. He was happy, though, which was quite obvious by the way he was beginning to speak a little more around the two Gryffindor students. He wasn't quite comfortable around then yet, but if they kept this up, they would without a doubt make a friend out of him. The lake wasn't somewhere Ezekiel typically liked to go, though mostly because he had few people to go with him, but he supposed it was an okay place to start. "It's not too far," he confirmed with a nod of his head in the direction of the lake. "And it should be easy to avoid the Forbidden Forest." The forest always sent shivers up his spine-----it was a terrifying place full of many creatures that would love to harm him or anyone else. Being bolder than usual, Ezekiel stood up, neatly wrapping the rest of his lunch and placing it into his pocket, before he began to lead the way to the lake. He had a fairly good mental map of the school's layout, so he didn't usually have trouble finding his way around.
-------------
Julian's face lit up happily as he listened to Sunday. "That's exactly how I feel! My father insisted on buying me a new one, but I just couldn't bear to part with this old fella. He's a very reliable broom," he replied, showing her thay he wasn't much younger. It was a 2004 model, covered in scratches and worn smooth over time. "But he still bought me a model of the newest Firebolt. I gave it to Ezekiel, though. He doesn't actually like Quidditch all that much, even though he plays. He's too scared of getting hurt." Julian shrugged. "I think it'll just take him some time to get used to it." Julian wanted to believe that Ezekiel would one day be a great seeker, maybe even a professional like Julian planned to become.《《

Sunday's face mirrored Julian's, grinning from ear to ear as he spoke. While she had been perfectly happy with her new friend all along, it was first now she truly felt a connection to him. She was used to flirting lightly and going along with whatever the other person was saying and feeling content with that, but it was nice to find someone that actually resembled herself once in a while. And in her own house, at the first day at the new school! That was quite a feat, even for her. "Aw, that's lovely", she said, referring both to Julian keeping his old broom and him giving the Firebolt away to his shy brother. "Speaking of your brother, might I meet him sometime? He sounds sweet, and I could definitely use some new friends right now."

Emily showed a small smile for a second before it slipped away. She turned and started to walk toward the section. Perhaps this headgirl thing wasn't going to be as hard as she thought. At first, when she had received the badge, she thought it was a mistake. The library was her lair and she didn't like the idea of stalking the halls for trouble makers. Plus, she usually didn't stick her nose into other people's problems or even tried to talk to others. The quiet loner didn't really seem like the prime candidate for the job. Now, she was thinking differently. Merlin knows how long that could last. "So here we are." She said, waving her hand around the area. "It is a bit smaller but I always had the impression that spell invention was more of an art and loose in its rules." Emily knew where the section was, yes, but she had never dabbled in the spell section. This was mostly because Emily was lacking in the arts. She was fairly creative but defiantly wasn't the most creative, preferring to stick with formulas and her bubbling potions.
---
Despite the fact that Victor had absolutely no clue where they were going, he tried to walk alongside Ezekiel. The thought of the forest not being a danger had put his thoughts at rest. He wasn't exactly afraid of the wooded area but more intimidated by it. The forest didn't exactly have a good reputation. Since he had been here, he had heard stories of large spiders and terrifying bat-like horses living in the forest. He had heard a squid lived in the lake. Which was...odd, but not bad. The squid couldn't climb out and snatch someone. If the squid existed. "So, does a squid actually live in the lake?" He asked.

Oh, and here's a new character! I'm sorry I don't have time to reply right now.) Rowena Griffiths - Year 6 - Pureblood - Hogwarts, Slytherin 16 - Aspen and dragon heartstring, thirteen and three-quarter inches, rigid - Octopus - No current pet, but claims to be on friendly terms with the Giant Squid Rowena is a strange, but ravishing youth. Dark locks tumble down her back in thick waves, before being cut off rather bluntly. Her eyes are a deep sea-green colour, creating a stark contrast to her fair skin and making her eyes her most prominent feature. Surrounded by thick lashes and usually seen wide open, they capture her intelligent and curious, but sometimes rather intimidating nature. Her eyebrows are dark and quite thick, making her eyes pop further. At 5'9" she is quite tall, with womanly curves and a thin waist, though she is not unusually skinny in any way. / Rowena resembles her namesake, the founder of Ravenclaw house, in many ways. She is highly creative and intellectual, and has a strange love of random trivia, which makes her an exceptionally fun conversationalist – at least for those as equally knowledge-thirsty as herself. The natural question then is of course, why isn’t she in Ravenclaw? Her curious, philosophical character would surely make her the perfect fit in her namesake’s house? Her maternal family even claim to be Welsh cadet branch of the Ravenclaws. The truth is simply that Rowena herself, when given the choice, saw that she would get the most out of her potential in Slytherin. She has high ambitions for herself, and while most Ravenclaws are clever and amazing and bright, they don’t care as much about greatness as Slytherins do. Slytherin’s main purpose is to produce great wizards and witches. The kind that will go down in history. Something in Rowena’s character is extremely drawn to that idea, and while she doesn’t necessarily intend to become the next Merlin, she likes to think that she will make her mark on the world, even if it’s just in some peculiar, nerdy field of magic. Additionally, Slytherin is a place where her rather macabre and dark humour never has made her feel odd or mean, as it often does. While Rowena doesn’t at all mind people calling her weird, she will go out of her way not to seem vile or unkind. Solidarity and everyday kindness are important ideals to her, even though she may seem intimidating at first. There are few things she hates more than people thinking that Slytherin is “the evil house”, and so she works hard to prove that myth false. Rowena comes from an intelligent Welsh family. Both her parents come from old, pureblood lines, but neither discriminate against muggleborns or muggles. Rather, they are very fascinated by them. Rowena’s father has even studied muggle culture, with focus on arts and literature. Shakespeare is a particular favourite of his, and when Rowena was young he used to tell the rather dark tales to her as bedtime stories. That way he got her to inherit his love of muggle literature. Rowena’s mother is an acclaimed magizoologist. She frequently brings home lots of different animals to study, so Rowena is especially good at Care for Magical Creatures. [She has no relations at Hogwarts.] Other[don't need]; Rowena is pan, and she’s taking Care for Magical Creatures and Alchemy as her electives this year. She dreams of becoming a wandmaker, and wants Ollivander to teach her his ways. She is known at Hogwarts for her duelling skills, and was the Slytherin prefect last year.

Makoto followed Emily with graceful footsteps, but actually felt quite excited. He nodded as she spoke, though he already had his eyes on the shelf. Most titles were the same as at home, only with a different cover, and of course in a different language. He let a slender hand graze over all the spines, until he found one he hadn't seen before. "The invention of spells, vol. 1", he said, suddenly much more energetic than before. "It seems to supporting the idea that spells were first invented in ancient Mesopotamia, possibly by the Sumers. Hm, that's interesting!" Makoto skimmed the first page thoughtfully. The book semmed to have been written by a Scottish witch more than three centuries ago, and the book had a thick layer of dust on top of it. Appearantly not that many people here read research papers from the 17th century by their own will.

{{ Oh, Ezekiel and Julian's forms are finished, if you want to add them.
It'll be a while before I can get Miles's done. }}
》》Ezekiel had never been quite sure whether the stories of a giant squid living in the lake were true or just talltales. One part of him hoped they were just that, stories, because a huge squid would be absolutely terrifying. However, on the other hand, it would be fascinating to try and research such an odd, horrifying beast. He would love to have that kind of honor. "I've no idea," he answered Victor after a moment, though his eyes were wide with a mixture of pure curiosity and interest. "I would love to find out, one day. If it, uh...didn't result in my death, I suppose." He was silent for a long time as they approached the lake, which was now in view. For the first time, Ezekiel shared something about himself besides his name. "Sometimes, after Quidditch practice, we come here to relax."
-------------
"Of course you can meet him! I know he'd love to meet you. He can be a little shy and seem kinda awkward, but he's sweet," Julian said, his smile full of brotherly love and nothing but pride. Ezekiel, and Miles as well, were so important to him. He would never be able to live without them. "I can see you two getting along well, Sunday. You seem like a smart girl and he loves to learn." Then, glancing up at the sky, he held up his broom slightly. "Let's get practicing, yeah? Whatcha wanna start with?" Julian absolutely loved practicing with others more than by himself-----solo practice was kind of lonely to him. He didn't have anyone to talk and no one could give him tips or extra help.《《

Emily smiled softly at his enthusiasm. These books might get some use now that Makoto was around. Judging by the dust, even the librarians had given up on these book receiving any attention. She waved her wand and mumbled some words under her breath. The dust covering the book disappeared. Emily's lips twitched upwards in pride. It was a simple spell but she liked when spells went right. "Well, it looks like they have up to volume three, so you should have plenty of content." She said. She felt a bit silly, standing here. It felt like it was time for her to leave. She had a book to read and he had his. Of course, they could read together, but that was a bit weird. At least, she thought it would be a strange offer to make. It was their time to part then. Right after she finished what she would secretly refer to as her first headgirl helping session. She promised to come up with a better name. "Is there anything else?" She asked.
---
Victor blinked and his mouth hung open for a couple seconds before he gained his voice. "You play quidditch?!" Victor raised in voice without knowing. It was just a bit, admittedly more of a giant, surprise. While he had neglected his house studies, he did learn of Hogwart's love for quidditch. His school had one team but they played casually and only played in local games. "I just wouldn't think you would play. You must be good, with how calm you are. You don't seem like the type to let anything get to you. So, how long and in what position?" he asked. He never wanted to play it, but he loved the energy that filled the stadium. He loved shouting for his team and the tense atmosphere as the game drew to a close. He absolutely loved when the teams were neck-to-neck and the seekers were hot on the tail of the snitch. He grinned despite himself.

》》Ezekiel gave a half-hearted shrug and stared at his feet as he walked. Quidditch was...different. It was fast-paced and intense and dangerous, three things he wasn't fond of. What he disliked more was the constantly full stadiums, all the eyes on him, following him and watching. He didn't like the pressure, the feeling that if he made one mistake, the whole world would see and judge him. Nevertheless, he played. "About a year. I play seeker," Ezekiel answered quietly, then looked over at Victor. "It's...an odd sport. My brother wanted me to play; he's a beater for your house." Ezekiel, at the time, had regretted giving into his brother's pleas, but he was too polite to back out. It would be rude to quit.《《

So, I was thinking there could be something wrong in the forbidden forest. Honestly this is stolen from my other rp but... perhaps some dangerous animal, or being like a Lethifold, starts to drive the other creatures out of the forest. At first, the creatures are easily contained. Then more and more start to come out, violent and attacking anyone. The ministry comes for back up but they are little to no help. They go into the forest, but then come out the same as the creatures. Many are easily annoyed/paranoid. As always, it is time for the students to step in and help. They have to go behind teacher's backs, because the rules are going to be stricter, and try to figure out what is happening. Maybe it would be cool if a little club was started, like DA, to find out because no one can seem to get close to the creature. The centaurs always send them back, too many creatures, or some just decide to leave, maybe due to the fear and dread the creature installs if anyone nears it. However, if the students can work together, they might be able to get past all of this. )

{{ Hm, I like it! It sounds like an interesting and great plot. I like the idea of a little student made club saving the day.
So perhaps Victor, Naomi and Ezekiel could have a run in with some creature, since the lake is close to the Forbidden Forest? And this could spark action being taken to prevent any more student injuries/endangerment? }}

Victor's grin quickly washed away and was replaced with a frown. Ezekiel didn't sound excited about quidditch at all. He had never really met a player with such little enthusiasm. His mind scrabbled for something to make the other male feel better. Changing the subject felt like cheating and wouldn't make him face the issue. He opened his mouth right as he saw something skitter out of the forest. It was about the size of a large dog but it didn't quite move as a dog should. Too much of it moved. He took a step closer in a vain attempt to see the creature. "What do you think it is?" He asked, pointing at the black shape. It was moving closer but occasionally stopping or turning in an odd direction. It's movements were sporadic with no real pattern or obvious goal. Victor felt the hairs on his back stand up.

OooOOo, sounds cool)
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe just seeing if your flying lives up to your mouth", Sunday said, settling on her broom. Her soft smile fell away in favour of a rather mischeavous grin, and she looked at Julian expectantly. Then her feet suddenly kicked off the ground and in a second she was racing through the breezy Scottish air. She instantly felt more alive. Her wind blowing in her hair, the amazing view from up there? This was what she was made for.
