But yeah, to work the job I want, I need a Master's. Pity about the jobs in your area! I'm sure you have some interesting stories though!)

*Screenname: Hushabye *Name: -REDACTED- Aubade *Where they are from: Fate/Grand Order Gender: Female Age: 23 Headcannons (if any): Aubade has a ridiculous amount of curly, fiery orange hair that is usually braided at the sides of her head with looping pigtails in the back. She has a naturally willowy but toned build, tanned skin littered with scars, and large golden eyes. Natural leader with buoyant optimism. Powers (if any): 'Basic' magic such as strengthening her body and firing off magical bolts. The strongest iteration of her magic lies in her ability to summon powerful 'heroic spirits' to aid her. They are more a shadow of their true selves, however, and she cannot maintain their form for long. They also require the construction of a magic circle for proper summoning. In addition, the more powerful they are, the more strain it puts on her body. Painfully human, but she's skilled in the use of multiple weapons and hand-to-hand combat. *Tell me. Are we alive?: not yet... *Path Chosen: 2 Other: An official OC, in a way. Otherwise known as Gudako. Her life is so chaotic that she doesn't take much seriously and is prone to breaking the fourth wall. One of her most powerful natural strengths is her intuition, which has yet to steer her wrong and allows her to see through both people and whatever ridiculous situation she finds herself in. *Starting Role-Play post(everyone start out in their room):
---
Her? Dead? Ha! When she finds the little bastard that dragged her into yet another...this she'll really show them the true meaning of death. In a manner of speaking. Depending on the person...But then the use of this 'Sable' alias narrows down her list of possible culprits. Chaotic entities like BB and Elizabeth are much too egotistical not to scrawl their signature at least twice and add a winky face for good measure. This is too threatening for a New Years Event...and surely they wouldn't start the New Year with an unannounced GudaGuda...right?
Aubade exhales harshly through her teeth and glares at the note a moment longer before forcibly- kinda defeats the purpose- easing up her muscles. She isn't dead. She can't remember dying, and she'd definitely remember if she had. Because it would be meaningful and...and she imagines Mash to be with her. No matter what. And she can't die. She refuses. Not after all she's been through. Everything she has yet to do...not after traipsing through the Underworld and other death games countless times only to remain victorious in the end. She tugs off a glove and gently touches the red markings on the back of her scarred hand. "Victorious...as long as I'm still alive, right? I just have to keep going, to give it all meaning..."
She jumps to her feet, crumpling the message in her grip. "Right! Hear that, y'right bollix! PÓG MO THÓIN!"
Her voice reverberates around the bare room but she gets no reply. Kind of expected but...Aubade isn't accustomed to being alone. She always has at least one person vying for her attention...the way these things start always unnerves her because time passes too slowly with no one at her side. Aubade paces her room, inspecting its few features with a determined look on her face in case she's being watched. Communications with Chaldea are unreliable. Of course. She's getting less than static. Which is to say, nothing. Her bonds are barely there, they've all gone silent and normally that would worry her, but the situation is familiar enough that she doesn't jump straight to panic as she might have before.
Even if she were dead- which she isn't- Gramps wouldn't let her escape their contract so easily. Nobody would, actually...They're all connected by death, after all. The thought brings a smile to her face and she lessens the intensity of her frantic search for clues.
Nothing interesting jumps out at her and the closet doesn't hold a change of clothes. Pity. She's wearing her original mystic code- a white jacket and boots with her black skirt and thigh-highs. It's maxed out but not particularly ideal. The handle of a metal fan digs into her thigh and she taps its weight with some relief. Aubade may temporarily be separated from her other weapons, but Yan Qing's gift is easily concealable and often accompanies her even around Chaldea. If this is another out-of-body experience, she must have slept with it on.
Oh, that would mean... Aubade fumbles through the tight- this outfit may be a bit small on her now- pockets of her jacket to squeeze out a stick of charcoal. "Aha!"
Golden eyes alight with renewed hope, she kneels to draw a magic circle over the unadorned floor. The design of Galahad's shield is so firmly entrenched in her memory that she can recreate it in her sleep. Perhaps she is.
Once done, Aubade's immediate instinct is summon Merlin and have him hard-carry her through this. He's one of her closest friends- no matter how he may separate them with platitudes- so their bond must be strong enough to break through whatever reality she's in. It's easier said than done, however...apparently this 'museum' is imposing some kind of tax on her mana reserves and absorption. She can't simply wave her hand- or entice with flattery- a being with the propensity for being a Grand Caster.
Aubade frowns and squats over the carefully drawn lines, looking within herself to analyze the state of her magic. She feels fine but she's currently at the level of a novice who needs a tremendous amount of energy to summon an FP heroic spirit, let alone a Golden one. The mage swears and runs a hand through her fiery hair. This won't stop her, however, she just needs to alter her strategy...
Right now, what's most important? Ah, information!
Kotaro is within her power to summon, and recon is one of his specialities as a shinobi~
Aubade rocks back on her heels and holds her dominant hand over the magic circle, pouring what little mana she has into the runes as she digs around for the intangible cord that binds them.
~ * ~ * ~ *~
Eight minutes pass and find her shivering on the floor against the bed, arms wrapped around her legs to prevent them from trembling. Kotaro was there but he wasn't. Reduced to a shadow that nearly fell through her when she attempted to hug him. His soft but concerned voice sounded far away, even in her head. But he was able to give her a quick rundown of the situation. They don't know the state of her body or even where she is- they lost contact during one of those make-it-or-you-miss-it attacks by yet another stupidly strong opponent. They've been searching frantically for her -living- body but they'll be relieved to know that she's still accessible. Wherever she is... Aubade had shared her situation too, and together they decided to play it safe. Joining a team is the obvious choice. She works best that way, and she can save more people in the course of it. None of that 'only one leaves alive' bull. Kotaro began to fade away after five minutes but made her swear an oath that she would maintain contact with them while Chaldea figured the situation out on their end.
The fact that she couldn't do anything but shiver and struggle to stay conscious after that would make it difficult...but not impossible. She hadn't even been alone for long but just the ability to have a familiar and welcome presence that she could hash things out with made a world of difference. Whatever lies outside that door, Aubade can face it with a smile. And she can have a little fun, while she's at it! Artifacts from other worlds, eh? It's been all 'doom & gloom' back 'home' so perhaps she can return with a few gifts~
~*~*~*~
Aubade leans against the wall as she moves down a long corridor, still tired but not so much that she can't record her circumstances in a tiny journal. It will run out of pages soon...but hopefully not before she gets out of here.

(No problem! Sorry for disappearing. I'm still trying to work out my life. :') )
Sytry walked along the hall, a lollipop stick protruding between their lips and a rather distant expression on their face. There was a tuneless 'huuum' coming from them as well. They did see Aubade though. Sooner rather than later - and their eyes lit up with great attentiveness. "Who might you be?" they asked, sounding slightly amused. "And what are you doing?" From the looks of things ... not a lot. Well ... that wasn't exactly fair. It just seemed like they weren't sure what was going on. Among other things. "So ... been here long?" It was practically a conversation about the whether or not the weather was okay.

*Screenname: --cato phoenix (@ kitkat) *Name: doesn’t know, goes by Mordecai Gender: Male Age: also doesn’t know, looks around 25 *Description: around 6' with grey skin, black hair that reaches a bit past his shoulders and golden eyes with dark sclera. He dresses pretty much exclusively in shades of grey and black, almost always with a mask and hood to hide his face. Dark markings twist in various swirled patterns up his arms and onto his shoulders, glowing gold when he uses energy magic. He has an assortment of scars, the majority of which are rarely seen, though if he removes his gloves it’s possible to notice jagged marks that wrap completely around his wrists, left from an attempt to break free from shackles after a particularly bad encounter with some shade hunters. *Personality: Mordecai is usually pretty quiet and tends to avoid people, when he does speak to others, he often seems distant or distracted. While this might make him seem disinterested in conversations, it’s more that he finds them difficult to participate in since he’s been almost completely isolated for centuries, leaving him with very little experience with people. The fact that the few experiences he has had with others have gone horribly wrong and made it difficult to trust people also doesn’t help. That said, he really doesn’t like being alone and cares a lot more about others than he may seem to. He’s very curious about the world around him as well as his own existence since (as far as he knows) he’s the only person to become a shade while retaining a human mind. Power (if any): Energy manipulation, some degree of shadow manipulation, can blend into/travel through shadows, somewhat enhanced speed/strength/senses *Tell me. Are we alive?(The code word. Read the rules.): nope *Path Chosen (If you don't understand look through the choices in the intro): still deciding Other: he’s an oc from a book I’m writing- the same one as the other characters I’ve used here ^^ a ref can be found here- f2.toyhou.se/file/f2-toyhou-se/images/36733615_emeJl2ZRKiuLOdv.png*Starting Role-Play post(everyone start out in their room): in next post~

[[ Mordecai || his room/the hallways || @/ anyone ]] When Mordecai woke it struck him immediately that everything was wrong. He leapt from the bed, nearly tripping over the sheets as he stumbled away and spun to survey his surroundings, golden eyes wide in confusion. He’d never seen the room in his life- as far as he could remember- and it was in far better condition than anywhere he’d stayed before. As he reached up to readjust his mask he made the alarming discovery that it was gone, as was his cloak and coat, causing his breath to quicken. The shade’s gaze darted frantically around the room again before he finally located them on the floor where he must have knocked them when he’d scrambled away from the bed and rushed to put them back on. He didn’t know where he was or how he’d ended up there but if anyone saw him it would be bad. Really bad. It was as he pulled his hood low over his face that he noticed something he’d missed in his initial panic, a piece of paper on the little table beside the bed. Welcome to to Sable’s museum. You are- what? He frowned, brow furrowing as he picked up the letter and reread the line. That… didn’t make sense. He sat on the edge of the bed and skimmed over the rest of the page but nothing else on it made much sense either. Well, he wasn’t sure how old he was but he’d seen the way time affected the world around him enough to figure that quite awhile had passed since the start of his memories, and the fact the he was the only shade who’s mind had stayed human was something he himself found quite interesting, so the way the letter seemed to refer to him as an ‘interesting antique’ might have been kind of accurate. It felt a bit dehumanizing to be referred to as such, but he’d learned to expect that from anyone who knew what he was. Wait… did that mean that this ‘Sable’ person knew that about him already? How could that be possible? And as for the part about him being dead, there were plenty of people who wanted him dead, but if he was, why would he still be a shade? Shouldn’t he have reverted to however he’d been before? The idea that he should spent countless years searching for answers only to die with such little luck finding any was so disappointing that he hated to even consider it... That said, the entire thing was absurd so why should he believe any of it? Mordecai looked to the three unchecked boxes, then to the door. He might not believe the information on the paper but for all he knew it could have been enchanted to keep him from changing his answer and even if it were real he wasn’t sure which of the options he really wanted, so he instead folded the paper neatly and tucked it into his coat pocket before heading for the door. The shade double checked that his face was hidden, then swung the door open and cautiously stepped out into the hallway with a quiet, “Hmm…”
He paused to look over the many doors continuing in both directions, then turned and started down the hallway. While others might’ve considered calling out to try to find someone else who’d been stuck there or maybe someone who might explain the whole thing in a more believable way, Mordecai was fairly used to being on his own and knew from experience that any attempt he made to talk with people would likely make the situation worse, so he simply continued to walk along the path in silence, watching and listening carefully for any sign that others were in the area.

| Aubade | the hallways | --cato phoenix / mintedstar/fur--- The sound of approaching footsteps perked her right up. Aubade slipped her journal into a pocket and tapped the handle of her fan even as she prepared herself for more of a meeting than a confrontation. The gait was relaxed and humanoid but you could never be sure. She turned the corner with a smile at the ready, discreetly assessing her new friend and finding them unthreatening at present. "Hello! I am Aubade of the Chaldea Security Organization. And who might You be~?" There is an easygoing smile on their lips with a lollipop stick jutting to the side. This person seems entirely too relaxed given the situation at hand and she tilts her head, wondering if they're an as of yet unmet heroic spirit. She knows the majority of them, even the ones she hasn't contracted. Maybe this Is an event. "Hmm," She places her hands on her hips and shifts to the side. "I'm exploring, I guess. Not that there's much to see, I just woke up. How long have you been here? Anything I should know about?" She tries not to sound like it's an interrogation but she's kind of pressed for time. Most surprises are unpleasant, in her experience. And there's also the possibility that this person is 'Sable' come to mess with her head. Aubade continues to worry over that suspicion even when someone who would better suit the name cautiously approaches them. 'Oho, an assassin?' She spins on her heel, hands clasped behind her back and sharp gaze narrowing with interest. "Hiya~ You trying to get out too?"

(Yeaaaah. Just had to get another test and go online for a bit with my school and yada yada. I don't know if I have it yet, but the process to make sure I don't give it to all my classmates was a whole thing.) Sytry | Hallway | --cato phoenix and HushabyeSytry very slowly took the lollipop out of their mouth and hummed, tilting their head - complete with headdress - back until they were considering the ceiling more than the other two. "Not sure," they eventually said. "How long I've been here, I mean." Their eyes slid over to Mordecai, who for all Sytry knew what Sable. Looked a bit like a humanized version of him, if they were honest. "Name's Sytry," they said after a second. "And don't try the food here." They took the lollipop out of their mouth again and tossed it into a corner. "It's like playing Russian Roulette. Unless you have a desire to play that, of course." They nodded around, considered, then said, "Oh. And people tend to disappear. At random. They can end up back in their rooms ... or poof. Never see them again. Make of that what you will." There was a small note of concern in their voice at this. They weren't completely nonchalant.

( aaa sorry if this double pings i sent it to the wrong thread x’D ) ( oof yeah that sounds like a pain to deal with, good luck with your test results ) Mordecai froze in his tracks as he rounded a corner and two people came into view, tensing as one of them spoke before he had a chance to decide what to do. She didn’t seem to have recognized him as a shade yet but if he used magic to disappear into the shadows it would be obvious and he didn’t know the layout of the place well enough to get away if needed. Now that he’d been seen he suspected his best option was to attempt to pass for human- or ra’Seirri, since that was what both of the others seemed to be. Could there be some significance to that? “I am… yes,” he answered the woman’s question cautiously with a slight dip of his head. He kept some distance between himself and the others. Though neither seemed to pose an immediate threat, the way they both watched him was unnerving. He wasn’t used to anyone seeing him at all. Usually if anyone did see him it was for the briefest moment as he disappeared into the overgrown ruins. Oh how he wished he could do that now. Instead the shade stood there and listened, watching as Sytry tossed their lollipop aside. He didn’t intend to stay long enough to need food even if he was human, nor was he sure what ‘Russian Roulette’ meant, but he made a mental note of their warning all the same. If someone had been mad enough to create this place and trap people there he wouldn’t put it past them to poison food. He narrowed his eyes in the shadow of his hood when they mentioned people disappearing. How could that be? Then again, none of what had happened since he’d woke up made much sense. Perhaps I never woke up and this is all a very strange dream… or perhaps I’m losing my mind, he thought bleakly. Becoming a shade hadn’t affected him in quite the same ways as it normally affected humans and his condition hadn’t seemed to change since the start of his memory, but he figured there was technically no way of knowing whether it was permanent. Mordecai looked between the other two again, considering whether he should try to say anything else. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself but he also didn’t want to look suspicious. Well, any more suspicious than he usually did. “I… I assume you’ve both received… letters, regarding this?” He asked finally, indicating the hallway with a slow wave of his hand.
