Hello! I'm starflower, previously known as Deersong on the old forums. I'm having a bit of a slow/boring day and would love to chat/get to know people better! So feel free to ask me anything (can be as general or random as you want!)

Yes! Especially mashed, and especially when it's at a family gathering (like Thanksgiving or Christmastime).

Huh. I've never thought to try them with ranch before, I'll have to give it a shot. In more recent years I've been having sweet potato fries as well, if they're made just right I find they're even better (or at least on par with) regular fries.

I love sweet potato fries. Funny story: Once I went to red robin and ordered them, and when they came I swear they had a whole shaker of salt on them. There was a LOT of salt. Have you ever tried sweet potato chips? They can be good depending on the brand. Surprisingly the cheaper brands tend to be better. Oh man, that would completely alter the flavour, haha! I ate McDonald's fries a lot as a kid and I remember the reason I stopped was actually because they started putting an insane amount of salt on them, it just kinda ruined them for me/made them gross. I may have tried something similar, I think they were like sweet potato corn chips or something like that? My grandpa used to always buy them for me/bring them to family stuff like at Christmas and Thanksgiving. They're addicting! Ahh, cheap but good brands are the best. Especially when you're a broke university student like me.

✨ Տեმɾ✨ Man, mcdonalds fries have changed a lot over the years. I remember they used to have the perfect amount of salt on them but they never had fresh ones, just cold ones. Now they have fresh ones pretty much 24/7 but the amount of salt can range from sweet potato fries to dumping an extra pack of salt on top of them to give them any flavor at all! You do have to be careful though, some of those sweet potato chips have an insane level of sodium and cholesterol. I know, boring health stuff, but that problem has plagued me since I first discovered them.

Ahh, I wish! Unfortunately, no. Although as a kid I used to beg my parents to let me have one, I wanted to get one and name him Houdini <3 I currently have one dog (Jana) who lives with my parents, and one fish (Spock) who lives with me at college.

And just generally being young enough to have it be socially acceptable to get a Happy Meal (although I still get them sometimes for funzies). And don't worry, I'm very health conscious when it comes to sodium intake. Between both of my grandfathers having heart attacks within a year of one another, and looking out for my boyfriend (he really doesn't look out for how much salt he eats), I've learned to watch out/not get excessive.

They are. They're thick, and really good in general. Better than McDonald's fries

That's true for one. Are you in Canada? Just wondering because the quality of McDonald's fries might've different where you are, idk.

You should! I suppose the fries are different in both countries.

Yes! As a Canadian I can vouch that its SO much better here. It does horribly in any other country it seems compared to here, haha. They have a more extensive menu here too, pretty sure some of it is Canada-exclusive.

Ahh, I've heard good things about Krispy Kreme.
Well, I guess I've only ever seen the other Tim Hortons in London, England (there's literally one, and hardly anyone goes there), and some of the states:
-Maine -New Hampshire -Nevada -New York
...I think that's all?
My favourite donut from Tim's is probably Boston Cremes ^_^

Neat! I've never heard of cruellers oddly enough. I guess usually when I go there I'm more in a mood for bagels/drinks than doughnuts though. Sometimes I get the huge packs of Timbits if it's theater season and my castmates are craving dessert, haha!
Ahh, that makes sense! I've not visited Michigan yet. Someday I'd like to be able to say I've been to all 50 states. But it's been awhile since I've travelled (I think about two years now), because I've been too busy/I'm trying to save up money for grad school and whatnot.

Really? Cruelers are really airy and fluffy, almost like a cream puff and super sweet. I don't go there much, but when I do I almost always get a donut with whatever I get Michigan is beautiful all year round, but the best is fall, when the leaves start to change and the sun still shines. The upper peninsula is really the place to be, any time of year, and the waterfalls are gorgeous. There's a lot of really cool history too. There's a city named Holland, and it's amazing there. It's pretty self explanatory that it has a lot of influence from Holland! It's just a beautiful place to be in the summer. Gah, I could babble about Michigan for so long.

Mmm, that sounds delicious. I'll look into it sometime.
And that sounds really neat! As much as I don't like the winters here, I do feel really lucky to live in a place that has seasons. Spring is probably my favourite (aside from allergies, those suck). Leaves changing colours always makes for such pretty photography.
