Ash went into the Subway, hoping to get a BLT or something. She got into the line, pulling out her new phone. She scrolled through her Twitter notifications, looking like a normal person.

((Awesomeness. So the question is, where's Mariana? If you don't want them to be separated that's fine; them acclimatizing to the base would work just as well to give them a place to start.
In the meantime, would you like to start with the twins?

((Okay. So the twins are in Stuttgart and Mariana is elsewhere. I guess Ash is in Stuttgart too. I'm not sure how to get them all talking though...
Hmm. My character is a WK soldier, with young children at the base, so maybe he could interact with the twins, and Ash and Mariana could be somewhere else? I'm not sure. It actually seems like a hodgepodge of characters who are pretty different and under most circumstances wouldn't interact.))

So, the twins with Ice and Mariana with Ash. Got it)
Mariana ran behind a building, her stomach rumbling loudly. It'd been awhile since she'd eaten and there was a Subway across the street that she could get a quick bite before heading back on the road. Maybe a bird, it was always fun to fly every now and then. She shifted back into her human body, silently thanking the clothes chip the WK had given her. After adjusting her jacket, she looked around, checking for witnesses and jogged to the Subway.

She knew Dave knew she was a shapeshifter and he wasn't, but he didn't care. He was too cool to care abut a silly thing like that. She glanced out the window and saw a girl jogging toward the Subway, and she looked hungry. Ash hoped this girl wasn't from the WK. Or the RK for that matter. Or, even better, not a shifter.

((Just for reference, this character is 33 and is about 5’10 with a buzz cut. Light brown hair and an average skin tone. Light brown eyes. Pretty stocky and broad-shouldered.))
Bernard sat in the break room, a sandwich and bottle of water on the table in front of him and his phone in his hand. He finished a text to his wife, hit Send, and sat back to enjoy his lunch.
((You could say they're brand new to the base and have some questions for him, Zuresian?))

Dave's sunglasses flashed as he handed Ash her meal. "Here ya go, Ash. Be careful. You never know who could be a spy from either kingdom..." he said, looking genuinely worrie. "I'll be fine, Dave. I'm careful." Ash replied, scooping up the bag. "Don't forget we have noon shift!" Dave called to her as she sashayed to a table on the other side of the restaurant.

Bernard looked up without moving his head, raising his eyebrows. In the first moment he was surprised to be so directly approached by a teenager who didn't even look old enough to be a soldier. In the second moment he had swallowed the first bite of his sandwich, realized she looked familiar, and begun processing the name. In the third moment he managed to put it all together and asked, "Aspen Huxley?"

She dipped her head in thanks before sitting down at a booth. |

((What exactly might the WK be using her for? Weapons, equipment, biochemistry? I kind of like the idea of her designing weapons since we've done countless plotlines with direct shifter experimentation in the past. This would be something new.))

Ash checked her watch. I have 15 minutes to eat this Good enough. She started on her sandwich. daveame over a couple minutes later. "I'm on break. Are you SURE your being careful? I get a bit... worried is the best word." he said. "I would never lie to you, Dave." Ash responded, sighing. "I had a few run-ins, but I'm fine!" The two were talking at a normal volume now. "Besides, if I run into a shifter who is sided with a kingdom, you KNOW I'll pretend not to be a shifter!"

Can't even eat her darn sandwich without worrying about running into people in the war. |

"Hierarchy, sure. We are, in part, a military." He felt a little weird just launching into it with no formal introduction, but it seemed she already knew his name. He had to wonder how she'd been able to identify him, though. "Slow down, though. How long have you been here?"
((Camden actually probably wouldn't be involved in the engineering stuff, but the WK would give them both a home in exchange for Aspen's help if she's as good as her form makes her sound.))

She would NEVER side with either kingdom." he said. Mariana let out a sigh and slid her hand away from her knife "still, telling everyone here you're a Shifter? You're too careless for what's going on around you. What you have done if I were Red Kingdom? They aren't the nicest bunch when it comes to Shifter" she didn't mean to lecture, but the girl looked young ish. Maybe around the twin's age, she needed to learn that in a time where enemies were around every corner, you didn't announce to the world and place a target on yourself. It was better to hang low until everything settled itself. |

((Also, she's normally not this careless, I just wanted to have an actual interaction. Maybe Mariana could offer a good spot in the WK that makes more money than Sooubway?))
